  1. You are listening to a message from Southwood Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

  2. Our passion is to experience and express grace. Join us.

  3. Contrary to popular belief, I am Will Spink. We're often confused when we're out in his will.

  4. Yeah, no, it's a privilege to be here as one of your ruling elders to get to share

  5. God's word with you. So let me pray for that.

  6. And then we will take a look at John chapter 3.

    John 3 chapter mention

  7. Lord, we do thank you that we can surrender all.

  8. And I do thank you for that inscription on the Stony Brook altar as you go there to preach

  9. that says, Sir, we would see Jesus. A reminder of when the Greeks came to hear Christ.

  10. And I pray that now, that we would see Jesus, Lord, that you would

  11. strike a straight blow with this crooked stick.

  12. And I pray it in Christ's name. Amen.

  13. So we are going to continue in John 3, if you have your Bibles.

  14. It might say what page it's on, the Pew Bible, page 887.

  15. And it's John 3, 22, the end, till the end of it, chapter 3.

  16. You know, I love that Will chose the book of John, the gospel of John, to lead us through

  17. this season. I love the book of John.

  18. I love it for several reasons.

  19. I'm going to give you three.

  20. One, it was written by John, John the apostle.

  21. John, who knew Christ better than anyone else on earth.

  22. Arguably his closest friend.

  23. And this friend of Christ writes this about Jesus.

  24. He says at the end, I could have written volumes and volumes and volumes,

  25. but these I've written that you might believe.

  26. So I like it was written by John.

  27. And I like also that as we read it, we find new reason to believe in Christ.

  28. It's written that we might believe.

  29. You can read it in a sitting.

  30. I'd encourage you sometime as we're preaching through this series,

  31. that you sit down and read it for yourself.

  32. Whether you know Christ or not, read it.

  33. See really who he is, as his good friend John writes.

  34. And then also I like that there is the element of light and darkness

  35. throughout the gospel of John.

  36. I'm an imagery guy.

  37. I like to see things.

  38. And that comes out throughout it.

  39. And I like the thought that he brings me out of darkness,

  40. out of darkness into light.

  41. It was funny as I was awakened in the night last night with a stiff neck.

  42. And I thought the Lord was saying, Mark, yield to me.

  43. Don't be stiff necked.

  44. So may that be the case.

  45. Let's read then these verses from John 3, 22 through 36.

  46. After this, Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside

  47. and he remained there with them and was baptizing.

  48. John also was baptizing at Anon and Salem because water was plentiful there

  49. and people were coming and being baptized.

  50. For John had not yet been put in prison.

  51. Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification.

  52. And there came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan

  53. to whom you bore witness, look, he is baptizing and all are going to him.

  54. John answered, a person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.

  55. You yourselves bear me witness that I said, I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.

  56. The one who has the bride is the bridegroom.

  57. The friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice.

  58. Therefore, this joy of mine is now complete.

  59. He must increase, but I must decrease.

  60. He who comes from above is above all.

  61. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way.

  62. He who comes from heaven is above all.

  63. He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony.

  64. Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.

  65. For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the spirit without measure.

  66. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

  67. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.

  68. Whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

  69. There's an outline in the bulletin, and I've divided it into four sections.

  70. An ironic opening.

  71. Ironic opening.

  72. Who's who?

  73. Who's who?

  74. Less is more.

  75. And a final warning.

  76. I did talk a little bit about John the Apostle, sometimes called John the Evangelist, because

  77. he said, I wrote these things that you might believe.

  78. And this John is writing about another John, John the Baptist.

  79. John is, we heard earlier in these sermon series, John the Baptist is a prophet, and he's the

  80. greatest prophet of them all.

  81. Jesus said that about him, and it's because of the message that he brings.

  82. He's announcing the Messiah.

  83. Like most prophets, they have a difficult life.

  84. John ate locusts, lived in the desert.

  85. He had a message from God of great hope.

  86. But like most prophets also, it's a double-edged sword.

  87. And so we do close with a warning from John the Baptist.

  88. So this opening, I call it an ironic opening.

  89. The scene is that the disciples of John the Baptist apparently go over to see Jesus and the baptisms

  90. that are going in his area.

  91. And they come back to John.

  92. And as you can see here, it's even exaggerated a bit.

  93. They say, everybody's going to Jesus.

  94. And they're actually upset about it.

  95. And they get into an argument over purification and over baptism, apparently.

  96. Can you see the irony of that?

  97. They're arguing about what Christ is doing and that Christ is increasing.

  98. Have you ever had that in your life where as Christ gets nearer to you,

  99. he calls you to something that, oh no, all of a sudden you feel threatened

  100. that your life might be diminished?

  101. Or he moves in a relationship of friends of yours,

  102. and they're experiencing Christ in a new way,

  103. and it's not good for you, and you feel threatened.

  104. Also, these men, just think about it, you know,

  105. they're hanging around one of the most godly guys of all time,

  106. John the Baptist, and then Jesus himself.

  107. And yet, I don't think they treated each other very well.

  108. So if it can happen to them, it can happen to us.

  109. You know, I'm an elder here, love our brothers,

  110. but do we have conflict, sometimes sharp conflict?

  111. We do.

  112. That's just part of who we are without Christ.

  113. For those of you who pray for us, thank you.

  114. Continue to pray.

  115. And I will brag on our pastor, Will, does an exceptional job

  116. of putting down his agenda.

  117. Our meetings are not always efficient, but they are godly.

  118. And we work it out.

  119. God's economy is on a whole different timetable.

  120. And thank you, Brother Jeremy, for leading us in that today

  121. about rest and quietness.

  122. Let's look at a couple of verses where this was common

  123. to the early church.

  124. In 1 Corinthians 4, 6, and 7,

  125. 1 Corinthians 4, 6, and 7, Paul writes,

  126. and again, the same kind of deal about conflict.

  127. I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers,

  128. that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written,

  129. that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

  130. You know, there it is, in favor of one against another.

  131. For who sees anything different in you?

  132. What do you have that you did not receive?

  133. If then you received it,

  134. why do you boast as if you did not receive it?

  135. And then we're going to read another section,

  136. a chapter earlier in there.

  137. And again, the antidote will be the same thing.

  138. And I do thank the Lord that whenever he calls us to something,

  139. he doesn't call us to do it by our own grit and willpower,

  140. though there is effort,

  141. but he gives us a power,

  142. a power to suppress the evil and walk in the good.

  143. So even earlier he says this,

  144. for you're still of the flesh.

  145. While there is jealousy and strife among you,

  146. are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?

  147. For when one says,

  148. I follow Paul,

  149. another,

  150. I follow Apollos,

  151. are you not merely being human?

  152. And in this case we see,

  153. you know,

  154. they were following John the Baptist instead of identifying with John and his purposes instead of Christ.

  155. And it's like that in our life,

  156. even in church life.

  157. And I would refer to that as church life,

  158. that they,

  159. anytime a cause,

  160. even a good cause,

  161. if Christ isn't at the heart of it,

  162. might there be selfish ambition and personal gain?

  163. That's often the case for me.

  164. James summarizes it this way.

  165. Who is wise and understanding among you?

  166. By his good conduct,

  167. let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.

  168. That's hard for us,

  169. in the meekness of wisdom.

  170. We want it to be arrogance.

  171. We want it to be boastful.

  172. At least I do.

  173. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts,

  174. do not boast,

  175. be false to the truth.

  176. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above,

  177. but it's earthly,

  178. unspiritual,

  179. demonic.

  180. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exists,

  181. there will be disorder

  182. in every vile practice.

  183. But the wisdom from above is first pure,

  184. then peaceable,

  185. gentle,

  186. open to reason,

  187. full of mercy and good fruits,

  188. impartial and sincere.

  189. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace

  190. by those who make peace.

  191. An ironic opening,

  192. conflict amongst the godly,

  193. and a conflict about Jesus rising in importance.

  194. And we'll see how John answers this

  195. and how it'll work out in our hearts.

  196. So that's the opening.

  197. Secondly,

  198. who's who?

  199. Who's who?

  200. So when the disciples come to John,

  201. what does he say to them?

  202. You know,

  203. does he say to them,

  204. look,

  205. I told you guys,

  206. you guys are slipping a lot.

  207. You need to get up a little earlier,

  208. work a little harder.

  209. Your marketing plan is failing.

  210. You need a new marketing plan.

  211. We need some gimmicks out there.

  212. We need to be more efficient.

  213. You guys are missing it.

  214. Of course not.

  215. That would be,

  216. as the British like to say

  217. in their translation of the Bible,

  218. rubbish.

  219. Rubbish.

  220. What does John say?

  221. He says,

  222. who's who?

  223. He says,

  224. I am from the earth.

  225. I speak from the earth,

  226. earthly things.

  227. He's from above.

  228. He's different.

  229. I can,

  230. I have a great calling from the Lord.

  231. I'm bringing Israel to repentance

  232. to get ready to meet the Christ.

  233. A huge,

  234. huge,

  235. huge calling from the Lord.

  236. Very important man of God.

  237. But he says,

  238. compared to Christ,

  239. I am nothing.

  240. I am nothing.

  241. I can't give you anything

  242. that was given,

  243. that wasn't given to me.

  244. But Christ,

  245. he can give you,

  246. and we'll learn next week,

  247. and with the woman at the well,

  248. he can give you wells of salvation

  249. that never run dry.

  250. He can give you life.

  251. Don't compare me to Christ.

  252. There's no comparison.

  253. And then he says these haunting words.

  254. He must increase,

  255. and I must decrease.

  256. He must increase,

  257. and I must decrease.

  258. One quote from D.A. Carson,

  259. there's a great commentary on John.

  260. He says this,

  261. deep discontentment over God's wise,

  262. sovereign disposition of people and things

  263. would in that instance betray

  264. not only unbelief and faithfulness,

  265. but the worst form of the perennial human sin,

  266. arrogance that wants to be God

  267. and stand where God stands.

  268. And we'll talk about that

  269. in a few minutes.

  270. So John sets it straight

  271. on who's who.

  272. And then he talks about less is more.

  273. Less is more.

  274. So how can less be more?

  275. How can making him increase

  276. be of benefit to me?

  277. Or is it?

  278. Is Jesus coming to conquer?

  279. Well, he is.

  280. He is.

  281. When we follow him,

  282. do we follow him in fear?

  283. Well, there is a certain element of fear.

  284. As we read earlier, though,

  285. he says,

  286. come to me,

  287. I am gentle and lowly in heart,

  288. and you'll find rest for your souls.

  289. But we also read where he cleared the temple.

  290. Jesus was the prophet of prophet.

  291. He came with a double-edged sword as well.

  292. But what's it mean, like,

  293. to be,

  294. for him to increase

  295. and for me to decrease in my life?

  296. Does he take over my personality?

  297. Do I become a robot?

  298. Do I only follow him

  299. and him alone

  300. in some ritualistic type of way?

  301. Do we all start to sound the same

  302. as believers,

  303. look the same,

  304. dress the same?

  305. Again,

  306. again,

  307. rubbish.

  308. That is what the enemy

  309. would want you to believe.

  310. But that's not at all Christ.

  311. C.S. Lewis

  312. uses two analogies.

  313. I'm not sure if we have kids here,

  314. but any kids,

  315. you're familiar with

  316. the Chronicles of Narnia?

  317. Anybody?

  318. Any adults familiar with

  319. this Chronicles of Narnia?

  320. Great.

  321. Great series.

  322. Well, this author also

  323. in Mere Christianity

  324. talks about this

  325. and he uses two analogies,

  326. salt and light.

  327. And let me talk about light first.

  328. Let's pretend we're in this room now

  329. and all the lights are out.

  330. It's so dark

  331. that we can't see the hand

  332. in front of our face.

  333. And some voice from above,

  334. probably Will Spink, right?

  335. It says,

  336. I'm going to shine something down

  337. and it's going to reflect back up

  338. so I can see you.

  339. It's going to be the same beam

  340. on each of you

  341. and reflect back up.

  342. Will we all look the same?

  343. Of course not.

  344. The clearer the light,

  345. matter of fact,

  346. the more individualities show up

  347. and our differences,

  348. our uniqueness.

  349. And that's kind of

  350. what it's like in Christ.

  351. We have a certain

  352. gift set personality,

  353. but it only comes

  354. to the true fulfillment in Him.

  355. I think about Christ

  356. who healed a man

  357. with a withered hand,

  358. it said.

  359. I think it was on the Sabbath.

  360. He had a hand.

  361. It was partly functioning,

  362. but Jesus healed it

  363. so it had full functioning.

  364. That's what He wants to do

  365. with us,

  366. with our persons,

  367. to set us free,

  368. to do things

  369. we weren't thinking about doing,

  370. didn't even know

  371. we were capable of doing,

  372. and running from others.

  373. Then He also uses

  374. the analogy of salt.

  375. of salt.

  376. Again,

  377. about how can more,

  378. less of me be more.

  379. So when you put salt on food,

  380. does it make it all

  381. taste like salt?

  382. Does it make it all

  383. taste the same?

  384. No,

  385. it brings out

  386. all the unique flavors

  387. that are in a dish.

  388. That's what salt does.

  389. And having Christ in our life

  390. brings out

  391. those unique gifts

  392. that God put you

  393. in you

  394. and you alone.

  395. and He wants

  396. to bring it out

  397. to advance

  398. His kingdom

  399. for you to bring

  400. justice to the poor,

  401. to bring hope

  402. and light

  403. to people,

  404. to go to,

  405. as we say

  406. in our mission,

  407. the least,

  408. the loneliest,

  409. the littlest,

  410. the left out,

  411. the lonely.

  412. He will change

  413. hearts like mine

  414. to want to do that

  415. instead of to

  416. promote myself.

  417. C.S. Lewis concludes

  418. when he writes about this

  419. in this way,

  420. It is something like that

  421. with Christ in us.

  422. The more we get

  423. what we now call

  424. ourselves

  425. out of the way

  426. and let Him

  427. take us over,

  428. the more truly

  429. ourselves

  430. we become.

  431. There is so much

  432. of Him

  433. that millions

  434. and millions

  435. of little Christs,

  436. all different,

  437. will still be too few

  438. to express Him fully.

  439. He made them all.

  440. He invented,

  441. as an author

  442. invents character,

  443. in a novel,

  444. all the different men

  445. that you and I

  446. were intended to be.

  447. In that sense,

  448. our real selves

  449. are all waiting

  450. for us in Him.

  451. It's no good

  452. trying to be myself

  453. without Him.

  454. D.A. Carson also writes,

  455. John finds joy

  456. not in grudgingly

  457. conceding victory

  458. to a superior opponent,

  459. but in wholeheartedly

  460. embracing God's will

  461. and the supremacy

  462. it assigns to Jesus.

  463. A great deal of later

  464. Christian piety

  465. has turned

  466. on this same truth.

  467. So, we are faced

  468. with that battle,

  469. that challenge

  470. every day.

  471. We've talked about this

  472. some in the

  473. Connect Community

  474. class

  475. that several of us

  476. are teaching,

  477. Kevin, today.

  478. Studying a book

  479. called

  480. The Fight,

  481. a book of Christian

  482. living,

  483. and it talks about

  484. every day

  485. is a fight,

  486. but it's not

  487. a grind

  488. where you have to

  489. win it

  490. with your own

  491. strength,

  492. but it's a victorious

  493. life in Christ

  494. and in Christ alone,

  495. but it's there

  496. every day.

  497. It's there every day.

  498. So, I want to look

  499. some,

  500. a couple of brief

  501. studies

  502. of how the tempter

  503. uses this

  504. over and over

  505. to eclipse Christ

  506. in our life

  507. and make us

  508. promoted,

  509. where we feel

  510. threatened,

  511. like John's disciples,

  512. that Jesus is rising.

  513. He's up in the polls.

  514. I don't know

  515. what's happening.

  516. It's out of control.

  517. I'm going down.

  518. In Isaiah,

  519. there's a chapter

  520. that talks about

  521. what many authors

  522. think is actually

  523. Satan himself.

  524. It's referred to a king,

  525. but I think it's

  526. on several levels.

  527. And this king

  528. wants to exalt himself

  529. to heaven

  530. and in the end

  531. says,

  532. I will be God.

  533. I will be God.

  534. And I think that was

  535. the ultimate fall

  536. of Satan.

  537. He wanted to be

  538. in the place of God,

  539. though he was

  540. an incredible angel

  541. of light,

  542. the Bible says.

  543. And he fell

  544. and he wants to bring

  545. you and me with him.

  546. And he has a fury

  547. about that.

  548. It worked on him

  549. and he wants it

  550. to work on us.

  551. The battle is there

  552. every day.

  553. You can go back

  554. to Genesis, right?

  555. Genesis 3.

  556. The tempting of Eve.

  557. We won't go through it all.

  558. There are three levels there.

  559. You know,

  560. the food was

  561. good for food.

  562. It was beautiful.

  563. But also,

  564. if she took it,

  565. it would make her

  566. like God,

  567. Satan said.

  568. It will make her

  569. like God.

  570. There again is that

  571. so-called perennial sin,

  572. wanting to ascend

  573. to be the Lord.

  574. You know,

  575. you think,

  576. I don't want to be God.

  577. I just want to get my way.

  578. Well,

  579. think of where

  580. that impulse

  581. came from,

  582. ultimately.

  583. And so,

  584. yes,

  585. Satan did

  586. the serpent,

  587. as it says

  588. in the garden,

  589. reach out to Eve

  590. and say,

  591. take it.

  592. And that's

  593. the issue

  594. when we take something

  595. before the time.

  596. You saw in those

  597. answers to John

  598. and also in 1 Corinthians

  599. where there was strife.

  600. They were reminded,

  601. what do you have

  602. that you weren't already given?

  603. What do you have

  604. that you weren't given?

  605. It's when we try

  606. to take it prematurely

  607. that we get into trouble.

  608. And that's time and time

  609. in the Bible.

  610. Fast forward

  611. from Genesis

  612. to Matthew chapter 4,

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  613. another temptation scene.

  614. This time with Jesus.

  615. And it's the same

  616. playbook for Satan.

  617. He tempted him again

  618. on three levels.

  619. He tempted him

  620. on beauty.

  621. He tempted him

  622. on physical lust.

  623. And then he tempted him

  624. on what's called

  625. the boastful pride of life.

  626. I don't know

  627. what all happened,

  628. but Satan presented

  629. to Christ

  630. all the kingdoms

  631. of the world.

  632. And he presented it

  633. in such a way

  634. that it sure looked

  635. like it was his.

  636. And he said,

  637. I'll give you all this.

  638. This will all be yours.

  639. Just worship me.

  640. Just worship me.

  641. That's the temptation

  642. we always have

  643. about grabbing something

  644. that we think

  645. is rightfully ours

  646. that's not.

  647. The wisdom from above

  648. isn't like that.

  649. It comes in its own time

  650. and it comes peaceably.

  651. Thank God that Jesus

  652. said to him,

  653. get behind me, Satan.

  654. It's written,

  655. you shall worship

  656. the Lord alone.

  657. There was the standard

  658. bearer for us.

  659. Our old elder brother,

  660. he faced that temptation

  661. and he said,

  662. I'll be with you

  663. when you face

  664. that temptation.

  665. We will all be tempted.

  666. That's just the way it is.

  667. That's just life

  668. in the Christian life.

  669. If you're serious

  670. in serving the Lord,

  671. you will be tempted.

  672. But in Christ,

  673. you can have

  674. that victory.

  675. Let's go to 1 John 2.

  676. Again, John,

  677. writing in 1 John,

  678. John, who's the writer

  679. of the gospel,

  680. also wrote three epistles.

  681. And in 1 John,

  682. he says,

  683. for all that is in the world,

  684. the desires of the flesh

  685. and the desires of the eyes

  686. and the pride of life

  687. or boastful pride of life

  688. is not from the Father

  689. but is from the world.

  690. Those three levels.

  691. He'll tempt you

  692. on lust of the flesh,

  693. lust of the eye,

  694. and the pride of life.

  695. It goes from the beginning.

  696. It's going to go on

  697. to the end.

  698. That's our enemy's playbook.

  699. And in Christ,

  700. we can stand up against it.

  701. Matter of fact,

  702. there's an amazing section

  703. we're going to look at now

  704. in Philippians 2

  705. where we can look at

  706. the very thoughts

  707. of Jesus Christ

  708. when he was a man.

  709. Very amazing section

  710. of scripture.

  711. I commend it to you

  712. to meditate on

  713. in contrast

  714. to how we often

  715. find ourselves.

  716. Have this mind

  717. among yourselves

  718. which is yours

  719. in Christ Jesus

  720. who though he was

  721. in the form of God

  722. did not count

  723. equality with God

  724. a thing to be grasped

  725. but emptied himself

  726. by taking the form

  727. of a servant

  728. being born

  729. in the likeness

  730. of men

  731. and being found

  732. in human form

  733. he humbled himself

  734. by becoming obedient

  735. to the point of death

  736. even death on a cross.

  737. therefore

  738. God has highly exalted him

  739. and bestowed on him

  740. the name

  741. that is above every name

  742. so that at the name

  743. of Jesus

  744. every knee should bow

  745. in heaven

  746. and on earth

  747. and under the earth

  748. and every tongue

  749. confess

  750. that Jesus Christ

  751. is Lord

  752. to the glory

  753. of God the Father.

  754. Can you kind of see that

  755. going through

  756. Christ's mind

  757. as he's faced

  758. with Satan

  759. Satan offers him

  760. all the kingdoms

  761. of the world?

  762. No, he humbles himself.

  763. He doesn't grasp it.

  764. He humbles himself

  765. and then

  766. in God's good time

  767. he exalts him.

  768. He has spiritual victory.

  769. So an ironic opening

  770. who's who

  771. less is more

  772. and finally

  773. a final warning.

  774. the last few verses

  775. of John 3

  776. are not

  777. John the Baptist

  778. but it goes back

  779. to John the Evangelist

  780. and he says

  781. things about

  782. the wrath of God.

  783. He says

  784. whoever believes

  785. in the Son

  786. has eternal life

  787. but whoever

  788. rejects the Son

  789. will not see life

  790. for God's wrath

  791. remains on him.

  792. God's wrath

  793. remains on him.

  794. You know

  795. often

  796. and before

  797. I knew Christ

  798. I didn't feel

  799. God's wrath

  800. was on me.

  801. Maybe occasionally

  802. maybe guilty feelings

  803. but we can't trust

  804. our conscience

  805. without the Spirit

  806. leading it.

  807. It can be false

  808. but the wrath of God

  809. remains on them.

  810. I look at it like this

  811. in 2 Thessalonians

  812. it talks about

  813. the coming of the Lord.

  814. You know

  815. he came as a servant

  816. he's going to come again

  817. to set all things right

  818. to set up

  819. his kingdom

  820. on earth

  821. and it says

  822. we know what

  823. restrains

  824. his wrath

  825. right now

  826. and one day

  827. that will be

  828. taken away

  829. and it'll be

  830. a terrific scene

  831. it'll be a terrible scene.

  832. It's

  833. it's like

  834. in physics

  835. where

  836. in the universe

  837. you know

  838. if the right potential

  839. builds up in the skies

  840. lightning strikes

  841. lightning just strikes

  842. it's just

  843. that's how it is.

  844. One day Christ

  845. will return

  846. he will take

  847. his presence

  848. away from this earth

  849. and automatically

  850. God's wrath

  851. will occur.

  852. It's being restrained

  853. it's God's grace

  854. that we're hearing

  855. this message today

  856. it's God's grace

  857. that I believe

  858. that Jesus

  859. is the Christ

  860. and

  861. if you don't know

  862. the Christ

  863. there is a consequence

  864. for not following Christ

  865. it's not like

  866. choosing your

  867. candidate to vote for

  868. once confronted

  869. with Christ

  870. you have a decision

  871. to make

  872. not to make a decision

  873. is to make a decision

  874. and the wrath

  875. of God

  876. friends

  877. John the Baptist

  878. says

  879. or John the Apostle

  880. in this case

  881. rests on you

  882. that's an awesome thought

  883. you know

  884. we often

  885. go to the doctor

  886. thinking

  887. I'm fine

  888. I feel fine

  889. well

  890. is that what

  891. the results show

  892. when they look

  893. inside you

  894. one day

  895. the spirit

  896. will show

  897. the secrets

  898. of our heart

  899. by God's grace

  900. may we abide

  901. in Christ

  902. and may we

  903. experience

  904. that victory

  905. and be covered

  906. from our sin

  907. by the Lord

  908. so we talked

  909. about

  910. the Aaronic

  911. opening

  912. who's who

  913. less is more

  914. and the final

  915. warning

  916. and I do

  917. want to say

  918. that at

  919. the end

  920. if anybody

  921. would like

  922. to discuss

  923. more about

  924. Christ

  925. the person

  926. of Christ

  927. who he is

  928. or get to know

  929. him more

  930. or have discussion

  931. I'll be up front

  932. Jeremy probably

  933. will too

  934. and we would love

  935. that as well

  936. thank God

  937. for his

  938. indescribable grace
