  1. We've been looking at a short series of parables from Luke's Gospel, and we look at the final one from Luke 20 that we've just read together.

  2. You can listen to the others back online on our church website. I encourage you to look at that and any feedback we always appreciate.

  3. Well, let's pray.

  4. Before we look at God's Word together, let's do that now.

  5. Our Father God, we have been reminded, as we've gathered today, of how fragile our lives are.

  6. And Father, we recognize too that one day we will come to an end on this earth.

  7. And so we pray and we ask that you will not let these moments or days pass us by without us reflecting and thinking hard about our own lives today,

  8. how we live for you, and what is to come.

  9. And we pray that by the power of your Holy Spirit, you would take your Word,

  10. and you would drive it deep into our hearts and into our lives,

  11. so that not one of us will leave this building

  12. without meeting the Lord Jesus Christ,

  13. our King,

  14. our Saviour,

  15. our Father,

  16. and our Lord.

  17. So, Father, please,

  18. do your work amongst us.

  19. Rebuke us where we need to be rebuked.

  20. Comfort us where we need that comfort.

  21. And build us up in the faith, we pray.

  22. We ask these things in Jesus' name.

  23. Amen.

  24. Not long after Barack Obama was elected president for the very first time,

  25. I met a businessman from the US.

  26. And to make conversation, I asked him,

  27. what do you think of your new president?

  28. He replied rather angrily,

  29. he ain't my president.

  30. He then proceeded to explain how he never wanted him

  31. and never voted for him.

  32. However, even though he doesn't like Obama,

  33. he is still his president.

  34. No amount of rejection can actually change that fact.

  35. Now, in a universal sense,

  36. Jesus has been appointed King

  37. over all peoples and over all nations.

  38. We might not like that he is King.

  39. We might not have voted him in as King.

  40. But he is our King.

  41. This became crystal clear when Jesus arrived into Jerusalem

  42. as he was riding on a colt.

  43. That very act of riding towards Jerusalem on a colt

  44. fulfilled God's promise of an appointed king that was to come.

  45. We can read about the crowd's reaction in chapter 19 of Luke,

  46. if you just flick back a page.

  47. Luke chapter 19, verse 38.

    Luke 19:38

  48. Here's the crowd's reaction as Jesus came.

  49. Luke 19, verse 38.

    Luke 19:38

  50. Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.

  51. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest

  52. as the crowds celebrated the arrival of King Jesus.

  53. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus,

  54. Teacher, rebuke your disciples.

  55. Tell them to stop behaving like this.

  56. I tell you, Jesus replied,

  57. if they keep quiet,

  58. then the stones will cry out.

  59. In other words, he's being very pointed towards them.

  60. He is saying,

  61. you might not like the fact that I am King.

  62. You might reject my kingship,

  63. but there is nothing and there is no one

  64. who can stop me being King.

  65. Of course, this only intensified

  66. Jesus' relationship with the religious leaders.

  67. It brought them into great conflict.

  68. In verse 47 of chapter 19,

  69. we read that every day,

  70. Jesus was teaching in the temple,

  71. but the chief priests,

  72. the teachers of the law,

  73. and the leaders among the people

  74. were trying to kill him.

  75. So the big question that is being put to us

  76. in these couple of chapters

  77. is, are we as people going to accept

  78. or are we going to reject Jesus as King?

  79. Now Jesus confronts us with this head on.

  80. He tells us a parable

  81. in chapter 20, verse 9,

  82. that we had read to us.

  83. Have a look at verse 9 with me of chapter 20.

  84. He went on to tell the people this parable.

  85. A man planted a vineyard,

  86. rented it to some farmers,

  87. and went away for a long time.

  88. Now this whole theme of vineyard

  89. that we have through the parable

  90. is not just a nice way of introducing a story.

  91. It was intentionally confrontational

  92. on Jesus' part.

  93. Have a look back.

  94. Keep your finger in Luke 20

  95. and flick back to Isaiah chapter 5, verse 1,

    Isaiah 5:1

  96. where we see the significance

  97. of what the vineyard actually means

  98. and what it was all about.

  99. and why Jesus chose

  100. that particular symbol.

  101. Isaiah chapter 5.

    Isaiah 5 chapter mention

  102. And we'll read at verse 1.

  103. Verse 1 reads,

  104. I will sing for the one I love

  105. a song about his vineyard.

  106. My loved one had a vineyard

  107. on a fertile hillside.

  108. And the question we need to ask,

  109. well, who or what is this vineyard?

  110. Well, the answer came, didn't it,

  111. at the very end in verse 7.

  112. The vineyard of the Lord Almighty

  113. is the house of Israel.

  114. And the men and women of Judah

  115. are a garden of his delight.

  116. And what did he want

  117. from this vineyard,

  118. from this people?

  119. Well, he looked for justice,

  120. but saw bloodshed.

  121. He looked for righteousness,

  122. but heard only cries of distress.

  123. Back to Luke 20.

  124. So as Jesus starts out

  125. on this story,

  126. this parable of the vineyard,

  127. Jesus is talking specifically

  128. to the religious leaders.

  129. And they're listening very carefully.

  130. And as Jesus is talking to them,

  131. it's beginning to twig.

  132. The penny is beginning to drop.

  133. They're thinking,

  134. well, we're Israel.

  135. We're God's people.

  136. We are the vineyard.

  137. This story that Jesus is telling us

  138. is a story about us.

  139. And as the story progressed,

  140. they did not like this story.

  141. Verse 19.

  142. The teachers of the law

  143. and the chief priests

  144. looked for a way to arrest him immediately

  145. because they knew

  146. he had spoken this parable against them.

  147. Now, what Jesus was speaking pointedly

  148. to the religious leaders,

  149. he is now speaking directly to us.

  150. You see, this story

  151. is also our story too.

  152. This is a story about our response

  153. to King Jesus,

  154. whether we accept him

  155. or whether we reject him.

  156. So there's three big things

  157. that we're going to look at

  158. as we look at this parable together.

  159. First, we see the King's persistent grace

  160. towards us.

  161. Look at verse 10.

  162. At harvest time,

  163. he sent a servant to the tenants

  164. so they would give him

  165. some of the fruit of the vineyard.

  166. But the tenants beat him

  167. and sent him away empty-handed.

  168. Now, if it was you or I

  169. who were telling this story,

  170. if it was us who had made it up,

  171. we probably would have gone

  172. straight into verse 15.

  173. Have a look there in verse 15,

  174. the middle part of verse 15.

  175. What then will the owner do?

  176. What then will the owner

  177. of the vineyard do to them?

  178. He will come and kill those tenants.

  179. I think that would be our response.

  180. We would show no mercy.

  181. They had their chance.

  182. They didn't do it.

  183. They beat up the servant.

  184. Well, now we'll take it out on them.

  185. But I want us to notice

  186. that that's not how God deals

  187. with his people.

  188. He is persistent.

  189. He is never giving up.

  190. He is longing

  191. that people will change their lives

  192. and turn to him.

  193. So after he has sent the first servant,

  194. what do we read in verse 11?

  195. He sent another servant.

  196. But that one also they beat

  197. and treated shamefully

  198. and sent away empty-handed.

  199. But he persists.

  200. He doesn't give up.

  201. Verse 12.

  202. He sent still a third.

  203. And they wounded him

  204. and threw him out.

  205. You see, throughout history,

  206. God has pursued his people

  207. through his word.

  208. That's in effect the big story of Israel

  209. throughout the Old Testament.

  210. We read time after time

  211. that God kept on sending his servants.

  212. He kept on sending his prophets

  213. to teach them,

  214. to warn them,

  215. to call them to himself.

  216. One after another they came.

  217. Century after century,

  218. calling the people,

  219. come back to your king.

  220. Come back to your true king.

  221. But they refused to listen.

  222. This persistent grace of God

  223. is reflected in the very words of Jesus.

  224. Have a look back in Luke chapter 13.

    Luke 13 chapter mention

  225. Jesus knew the significance

  226. of the servants who kept coming

  227. and the prophets who kept teaching.

  228. Listen to what Jesus says in,

  229. sorry, it's Luke chapter 12

    Luke 12 chapter mention

  230. and verse,

  231. no, Luke 13, verse 34.

    Luke 13:34

  232. Sorry, Luke 13, verse 34.

    Luke 13:34

  233. As Jesus looks over Jerusalem,

  234. the city and its people,

  235. this is what he says,

  236. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

  237. you who kill the prophets

  238. and stone those sent to you,

  239. how often I have longed

  240. to gather your children together

  241. as a hen gathers her chicks

  242. under her wings.

  243. But you are not willing.

  244. And I think that's the pattern

  245. of God with us.

  246. He continues to pursue us.

  247. He persists in grace

  248. while we resist in rebellion.

  249. Day after day,

  250. year after year,

  251. God in his faithfulness

  252. has provided those

  253. who will lovingly teach God's word.

  254. For some of us,

  255. that's from the very beginning

  256. within our own homes,

  257. through Sunday school,

  258. within the church family,

  259. God has intervened

  260. time and time again,

  261. persisting with his grace.

  262. God in his grace

  263. brings his word,

  264. longing that we would

  265. gather to him,

  266. just like a little chick

  267. finds its shelter

  268. under its mother's wings.

  269. But the depth of this pursuit

  270. of God's grace

  271. is seen in the sending

  272. of his very own son.

  273. Back in Luke 20,

  274. he sent one servant,

  275. then another servant,

  276. then still a third servant,

  277. and then in verse 13,

  278. we read this,

  279. then the owner

  280. of the vineyard said,

  281. what shall I do?

  282. I will send my son,

  283. whom I love.

  284. Perhaps they will respect him.

  285. But when the tenants saw him,

  286. they talked the matter over.

  287. This is the heir,

  288. they said.

  289. Let's kill him,

  290. and the inheritance

  291. will be ours.

  292. So they threw him

  293. out of the vineyard

  294. and killed him.

  295. Now it's not hard for us

  296. to see what Jesus

  297. is saying here,

  298. is it?

  299. God has not

  300. withheld his love

  301. from us.

  302. He has given to us

  303. the ultimate prophet,

  304. the final word,

  305. Jesus Christ himself,

  306. the God-man

  307. who came into this world,

  308. the one,

  309. the person in whom

  310. we find forgiveness,

  311. peace,

  312. and joy

  313. and eternal life.

  314. He gives to us

  315. his own son.

  316. But those who listened

  317. didn't want to hear

  318. what Jesus had to say.

  319. They didn't want

  320. Jesus as king.

  321. And the great tragedy

  322. of this story is

  323. that they began

  324. to act out

  325. this story

  326. in real life.

  327. the tenants

  328. became real.

  329. Within three days

  330. of Jesus telling

  331. this story,

  332. the same people

  333. who listened

  334. had Jesus

  335. hanging on a cross.

  336. Now we need

  337. to be so careful

  338. that we don't

  339. become like them.

  340. You see,

  341. to reject God's word,

  342. to ignore what God

  343. has to say to us

  344. through his son

  345. is to kill him.

  346. Look what they say

  347. in verse 14.

  348. This is the heir.

  349. Let's kill him

  350. and the inheritance

  351. will be ours.

  352. We don't want

  353. Jesus ruling us.

  354. We want to be the boss.

  355. And so we kill him.

  356. We shut him out

  357. of our lives.

  358. We close over his word.

  359. We neither look at it,

  360. read it,

  361. nor listen to it.

  362. We crucify him

  363. so that he has

  364. no part

  365. in our lives.

  366. But what seemed

  367. to be such

  368. a tragic death

  369. as Jesus died

  370. on the cross

  371. was actually

  372. God's ultimate

  373. and greatest

  374. act of grace

  375. towards us,

  376. his people.

  377. Through his death,

  378. Jesus was taking

  379. the blame

  380. for all the times

  381. we have rejected him

  382. and ignored him.

  383. This king came down

  384. and he died for us

  385. so that we could be forgiven

  386. and know his good

  387. and kind

  388. and loving rule.

  389. God has been persistent

  390. in bringing his word

  391. and giving to us

  392. of his son.

  393. So he is persistent

  394. in his grace.

  395. But there's a second thing.

  396. There is the king's

  397. irreversible judgment

  398. upon us.

  399. You see,

  400. while God is persistent

  401. with his grace,

  402. it will not be available

  403. forever.

  404. Eventually,

  405. a time will come

  406. when rather than

  407. us experiencing

  408. his grace,

  409. we will experience

  410. his judgment.

  411. Look at verse 15.

  412. So they threw him

  413. out of the vineyard

  414. and killed him.

  415. What then will the owner

  416. of the vineyard

  417. do to them?

  418. He will come

  419. and kill

  420. those tenants.

  421. You see,

  422. God is patient.

  423. God is long-suffering.

  424. But the day will come

  425. when his patience

  426. has run out.

  427. He will bring

  428. his judgment

  429. on all those

  430. who have refused

  431. to bow the knee

  432. and acknowledge him

  433. as king.

  434. Now let's remember,

  435. God is not some

  436. mean and capricious,

  437. violent God

  438. who wakes up

  439. having a bad day

  440. and decides to

  441. take it out

  442. on his people

  443. and go,

  444. oh, I'll just strike

  445. that one down

  446. or I'll strike

  447. that one down.

  448. No,

  449. God's judgment

  450. comes

  451. at the very end

  452. it is a culmination

  453. of a long,

  454. long process

  455. of pursuing grace

  456. down through the years.

  457. It is his very

  458. last act

  459. of work.

  460. You see,

  461. God's judgment

  462. is God giving to us

  463. what we have asked for.

  464. If we persist

  465. in rejecting him,

  466. he will eventually

  467. reject us.

  468. If we tell him

  469. often enough,

  470. I don't want you,

  471. he will separate us

  472. from him

  473. for all eternity.

  474. C.S. Lewis

  475. put it like this,

  476. there are only

  477. two kinds of people,

  478. those who say,

  479. thy will be done

  480. to God,

  481. or those to whom

  482. God in the end

  483. says,

  484. thy will will be done.

  485. God in the end

  486. in other words,

  487. all that are in hell

  488. choose it

  489. because they have

  490. rejected Jesus

  491. as king.

  492. Our judgment,

  493. if it were to come,

  494. is ultimately deserved.

  495. We only have

  496. ourselves

  497. to blame.

  498. And part of that

  499. judgment

  500. will also mean

  501. the removal

  502. of God's grace.

  503. Look at these

  504. searching words

  505. again in verse 15.

  506. What then will

  507. the owner of the

  508. vineyard do to them?

  509. He will come

  510. and kill those tenants,

  511. there will be punishment,

  512. and give the vineyard

  513. to others.

  514. Now let's remember

  515. who Jesus is speaking to.

  516. He was talking

  517. to the people

  518. of Israel

  519. and to her leaders.

  520. They were a rich

  521. and privileged people.

  522. God had chosen

  523. these people

  524. out of all the nations

  525. of the earth.

  526. He had set

  527. his love

  528. upon them.

  529. He had rescued them.

  530. He had provided

  531. for them.

  532. He had given them

  533. blessing

  534. after blessing.

  535. But they had

  536. stubbornly

  537. refused

  538. his grace.

  539. You see,

  540. to refuse

  541. his grace

  542. means

  543. he will remove

  544. his grace

  545. from us

  546. and give it

  547. to others.

  548. And if God

  549. did that

  550. with Israel

  551. and opened

  552. the doorway

  553. to the Gentiles,

  554. to people like

  555. you and me,

  556. do you not think

  557. that God can do

  558. the same again

  559. with his church,

  560. with his people?

  561. You see,

  562. just as God

  563. looked for fruit

  564. from the leaders

  565. of Israel,

  566. he looked

  567. for righteousness,

  568. but he heard

  569. cries of distress.

  570. He looked for justice,

  571. but he saw bloodshed.

  572. He looked for those

  573. who would produce fruit,

  574. a life in keeping

  575. with a follower

  576. and a disciple

  577. of Jesus.

  578. He looks for it.

  579. Verse 10,

  580. at harvest time

  581. he sent a servant

  582. to the tenants

  583. so they would

  584. give him

  585. some of the fruit

  586. of the vineyard.

  587. He has entrusted

  588. to us the church

  589. with the blessing

  590. of his grace.

  591. If you are a believer

  592. today,

  593. if you are part

  594. of God's family,

  595. God has given you

  596. and entrusted

  597. his grace

  598. into your life

  599. to work it

  600. in your own life,

  601. to share it

  602. to the world.

  603. And if we fail

  604. to use that grace,

  605. if we fail

  606. to put that grace

  607. to work

  608. in our own lives,

  609. he will take it

  610. and he will give it

  611. to another.

  612. God does not owe us.

  613. We have no special

  614. claim on God.

  615. The great tragedy

  616. is that those

  617. who have had a taste

  618. of God's grace

  619. grace,

  620. but do not

  621. produce fruit.

  622. He will remove

  623. that grace from us

  624. and give it to one

  625. who will produce fruit.

  626. Are you

  627. ignoring

  628. God's grace

  629. in your life?

  630. Are you

  631. persisting

  632. in sin

  633. and disobedience

  634. and walking

  635. your own way?

  636. God's grace

  637. will be

  638. be very,

  639. very careful

  640. that you do not

  641. misuse

  642. or abuse

  643. his grace.

  644. So God

  645. is persistent.

  646. The king

  647. will come

  648. to judge.

  649. And third,

  650. the king's

  651. eternal rule

  652. over us.

  653. Those who

  654. listen to Jesus

  655. may have

  656. rejected his rule.

  657. they may

  658. have killed

  659. him and hung

  660. him on a cross.

  661. But he still

  662. rules

  663. over us.

  664. He rules

  665. by

  666. his resurrection.

  667. Look at

  668. verse 16.

  669. We'll read

  670. the middle

  671. of verse 16.

  672. When the people

  673. heard this,

  674. they said,

  675. may this

  676. never be.

  677. In other words,

  678. they couldn't

  679. contemplate that

  680. God would

  681. ever,

  682. ever remove

  683. his favour

  684. or his grace

  685. from them.

  686. God's not

  687. going to have

  688. the last say.

  689. We'll have

  690. the last say.

  691. We'll kill

  692. him.

  693. Verse 17,

  694. Jesus looked

  695. directly at

  696. them and

  697. asked,

  698. then what

  699. is the

  700. meaning of

  701. that which

  702. is written?

  703. The stone

  704. the builders

  705. rejected

  706. has become

  707. the capstone.

  708. The imagery

  709. is so striking.

  710. The one

  711. stone that

  712. the builders

  713. throw into

  714. the waste

  715. pile and

  716. see no use

  717. of has

  718. become the

  719. most important

  720. stone in

  721. the whole

  722. building.

  723. The capstone

  724. was that last

  725. and final

  726. stone that

  727. went on the

  728. top and

  729. held everything

  730. together.

  731. And Jesus

  732. is saying,

  733. I am that

  734. stone.

  735. You found

  736. no use for

  737. me.

  738. You didn't

  739. want me.

  740. You rejected

  741. me through

  742. your life,

  743. but I am

  744. the capstone.

  745. I am the

  746. one who

  747. rules and

  748. who reigns

  749. over you.

  750. And I

  751. think Jesus

  752. is pointing

  753. very clearly

  754. to his

  755. resurrection.

  756. In three

  757. days of

  758. Jesus telling

  759. this story,

  760. Jesus was

  761. rejected.

  762. He was

  763. tossed to

  764. one side,

  765. rejected,

  766. killed,

  767. and hung

  768. on a cross

  769. by the

  770. people.

  771. But three

  772. days after

  773. that event,

  774. Jesus rose

  775. victoriously

  776. from the

  777. grave over

  778. his enemies,

  779. defeating

  780. death,

  781. triumphing

  782. over the

  783. grave.

  784. By his

  785. resurrection,

  786. Jesus has

  787. become the

  788. capstone.

  789. He rules

  790. over all.

  791. But it is

  792. not just

  793. his resurrection.

  794. He rules

  795. on his

  796. return.

  797. You see,

  798. not everybody

  799. sees it this

  800. way.

  801. not everyone

  802. except that

  803. Jesus rose

  804. and that

  805. he is

  806. king.

  807. They still

  808. go on

  809. rejecting

  810. and refusing

  811. his kingship.

  812. But the

  813. risen king

  814. will come

  815. again.

  816. And all

  817. who have

  818. resisted

  819. him

  820. will see

  821. and will

  822. know

  823. that he

  824. is king.

  825. Verse

  826. 18.

  827. Everyone

  828. who falls

  829. on that

  830. stone will

  831. be broken

  832. to pieces.

  833. But he

  834. on whom

  835. it falls

  836. will be

  837. crushed.

  838. You see

  839. what it's

  840. saying?

  841. If we

  842. persist in

  843. our rejection,

  844. if we

  845. continually

  846. push

  847. against

  848. his

  849. gentle

  850. spirit,

  851. it will

  852. be like

  853. walking

  854. into a

  855. large

  856. stone

  857. or rock.

  858. It will

  859. break us

  860. and destroy

  861. us.

  862. Verse

  863. 18.

  864. Everyone

  865. who falls

  866. on that

  867. stone will

  868. be broken

  869. to pieces.

  870. In fact,

  871. if we

  872. continue in

  873. our rejection

  874. of him,

  875. if we

  876. insist on

  877. ignoring his

  878. grace and

  879. favour towards

  880. us,

  881. then we

  882. will not

  883. only be

  884. broken,

  885. we will

  886. be crushed.

  887. Look at

  888. the end

  889. of verse

  890. 18.

  891. But he

  892. on whom

  893. it falls

  894. will be

  895. crushed.

  896. One day

  897. the risen

  898. Lord Jesus

  899. will come

  900. again and

  901. establish his

  902. eternal

  903. kingdom and

  904. he will

  905. bring all

  906. his people

  907. who love

  908. him and

  909. know him

  910. and they

  911. will be

  912. part of

  913. that for

  914. all eternity.

  915. But those

  916. who have

  917. stood opposed

  918. to him,

  919. those who

  920. have fought

  921. against him,

  922. who have

  923. resisted his

  924. spirit and

  925. his grace,

  926. all who

  927. have used

  928. and abused

  929. his grace,

  930. will be

  931. crushed

  932. beneath his

  933. power.

  934. This week,

  935. as I had

  936. time with

  937. Mrs.

  938. Daunt and

  939. as I've

  940. been talking

  941. with Jean,

  942. it's been a

  943. privilege.

  944. For somebody

  945. like Mrs.

  946. Daunt,

  947. she's now

  948. with her

  949. king because

  950. she trusted

  951. in her

  952. king.

  953. A simple

  954. faith and

  955. that is

  956. where she

  957. is with

  958. the Lord

  959. today.

  960. Last night

  961. some of us

  962. were with

  963. Jean and

  964. in her

  965. confused mind

  966. she still

  967. was able to

  968. utter the

  969. words,

  970. I know

  971. where I'm

  972. going.

  973. Isn't that

  974. great?

  975. She trusts

  976. her king.

  977. She has

  978. accepted her

  979. king.

  980. she knows

  981. grace in

  982. her life.

  983. The question

  984. is,

  985. do we all

  986. know that

  987. grace?

  988. Have we

  989. taken it

  990. in and

  991. accept Jesus'

  992. rule over

  993. every aspect

  994. of our

  995. life,

  996. letting him

  997. rule as

  998. we submit

  999. to him?

  1000. Don't let

  1001. these days

  1002. pass without

  1003. God doing

  1004. that work

  1005. in your

  1006. life.

  1007. let's

  1008. pray.

  1009. Lord Jesus,

  1010. we bow

  1011. before you

  1012. in humility

  1013. for you

  1014. are king.

  1015. You are

  1016. our lord

  1017. and you

  1018. are our

  1019. savior.

  1020. We thank

  1021. you so

  1022. much for

  1023. your

  1024. persistent

  1025. and amazing

  1026. grace,

  1027. continually

  1028. chasing

  1029. after us,

  1030. longing that

  1031. we would

  1032. gather to

  1033. you,

  1034. just like

  1035. the chick

  1036. gathers under

  1037. the wings

  1038. of its

  1039. mother.

  1040. We thank

  1041. you that

  1042. we can

  1043. find safety

  1044. and security,

  1045. joy and

  1046. peace within

  1047. you.

  1048. And

  1049. father,

  1050. we pray

  1051. that if we

  1052. have not yet

  1053. trusted or

  1054. if we have

  1055. been resisting,

  1056. that you

  1057. would break

  1058. our spirit,

  1059. that we

  1060. would bow

  1061. and accept

  1062. you and

  1063. love you

  1064. and adore

  1065. you.

  1066. And we

  1067. pray that we

  1068. ourselves would

  1069. have opportunity

  1070. that we may

  1071. share of this

  1072. grace with

  1073. all those that

  1074. we meet this

  1075. coming week,

  1076. opportunity to

  1077. share of the

  1078. hope that we

  1079. have in Christ

  1080. and the joy

  1081. that it

  1082. brings.

  1083. Please help

  1084. us,

  1085. father.

  1086. We ask

  1087. this in

  1088. Jesus'

  1089. name.

  1090. Amen.

  1091. Amen.

  1092. We're going

  1093. to sing

  1094. together

  1095. a hymn

  1096. about the

  1097. kingship of

  1098. the Lord

  1099. Jesus Christ.

  1100. Behold our

  1101. God,

  1102. seated on

  1103. his throne.

  1104. Come,

  1105. let us

  1106. adore him.

  1107. If Jesus

  1108. is your

  1109. king and

  1110. you know

  1111. his grace,

  1112. then sing

  1113. it out

  1114. loud to

  1115. encourage one

  1116. another as

  1117. we give our

  1118. praise to

  1119. the Lord.

  1120. Let's stand

  1121. together as

  1122. we sing.
