  1. They were the words of one of the parents who lost their daughter when the balcony collapsed.

  2. Justice must prevail, cried the campaigner seeking the protection and equal rights of women in Afghanistan.

  3. Whoever we are, we all have this sense of what is just and fair,

  4. and nothing angers us more when injustice goes unpunished and the victims continue to suffer.

  5. We've all experienced it in our lives and we can all see it.

  6. It's not fair that the richest 60 people in the world have more wealth than the combined wealth of the poorest 3.5 billion.

  7. That's half of the world's population.

  8. It's wrong that the slaughter of innocent people at the hands of ISIS continues,

  9. the beheadings of men, the rape and mutilation of women, the taking of children as sex slaves.

  10. It's not right that gang lords walk our streets exploiting the vulnerable and terrorising neighbourhoods.

  11. It's complete savagery that Boko Haram are kidnapping children and using them as suicide bombers,

  12. because no one will suspect them.

  13. It's not fair that men and women and children are being washed up on the shores of Greece

  14. as they seek safety for their families.

  15. It's not right that nearly half a million people, the most needy of our nation,

  16. are waiting an appointment to see a consultant or a surgeon.

  17. You see, we all know what it is to experience and see injustice.

  18. And whatever we believe, we all want justice to be done.

  19. Well, the story of the Bible tells us of a God who loves and desires justice to be done.

  20. Psalm 146 reminds us of who God is.

  21. It tells us that he executes justice for the oppressed and he gives food for the hungry.

  22. The Lord sets prisoners free.

  23. The Lord gives sight to the blind.

  24. He lifts up those who are bowed down.

  25. The Lord loves those who live justly.

  26. The Lord watches over the immigrant and sustains the fatherless and the widow,

  27. but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

  28. This is our great God.

  29. And God so loves justice that he demands that his people also act justly.

  30. So throughout the story, as God worked with his people,

  31. and as they were rescued from Egypt, from slavery, unjustly,

  32. they were brought out of that and brought into a new land,

  33. and God gave them laws reflecting his character and how they should live.

  34. And this is what he said to them.

  35. If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the Lord is giving you,

  36. do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted towards your brother or sister.

  37. Rather be open-handed and freely lend them whatever they need.

  38. And cursed be anyone who withholds the justice that is due to the immigrant, the fatherless, and the widow.

  39. And all the people shall say, Amen.

  40. In fact, one of the main roles of the prophets was to remind God's people of how they should live as God's people in God's world.

  41. From Micah, the prophet spoke to the people.

  42. He says, He has showed you, O man, what is good.

  43. And what does the Lord require of you?

  44. To act justly.

  45. To love mercy.

  46. And to walk humbly with your God.

  47. You see, to act justly.

  48. Or to do justice in the world.

  49. Essentially means two things.

  50. On the one hand, justice is about punishment.

  51. It's about correcting wrongs and making sure people receive the penalty for their crime.

  52. But on the other hand, justice is also about protection.

  53. It's about giving people their rights.

  54. And making sure that people are treated fairly.

  55. And given the respect that is due to them.

  56. You see, God's laws for his people was actually a reflection of his own heart and character of the way in which the world should be.

  57. In fact, God promised that one day, he would bring about this kind of justice to all nations of the world.

  58. And here we turn to Isaiah, chapter 42.

    Isaiah 42 chapter mention

  59. Let's read chapter 42, verse 1 together.

  60. This is a prophecy looking forward to the coming of God's servant, the Lord Jesus Christ, who would come and bring justice.

  61. Verse 1.

  62. And here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight.

  63. I will put my spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations.

  64. He will not shout or cry out or raise his voice in the streets.

  65. He will not be a bully or he will not oppress people.

  66. Verse 3.

  67. A bruised reed he will not break.

  68. In other words, he will not crush those who are weak.

  69. A smouldering wick he will not snuff out.

  70. He will not destroy the needy.

  71. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice.

  72. He will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.

  73. You see, nothing and no one is going to stand in God's way.

  74. God will not rest until justice is done.

  75. All wrongs will be punished.

  76. The vulnerable will be protected.

  77. God, since Adam and Eve fell and the curse came upon the world,

  78. God is intent on renewing and restoring and making everything right

  79. and putting things back together the way they should be.

  80. Well, if that is what God has promised,

  81. if God has promised to bring justice,

  82. then where is justice?

  83. You see, God has promised to renew and restore.

  84. But nothing, it seems, seems to be happening.

  85. This is the struggle that we find throughout the story of the whole Bible.

  86. Listen to the cries of the Psalms, the writers,

  87. as they come to terms with the reality of living life

  88. in a world where there is so much injustice.

  89. My soul is in anguish.

  90. How long, O Lord?

  91. How long?

  92. How long, O Lord?

  93. Will you forget me forever?

  94. How long will you hide your face from me?

  95. How long must I wrestle with my thoughts

  96. and every day have sorrow in my heart?

  97. How long will my enemy triumph over me?

  98. How long will the wicked, O Lord?

  99. How long will the wicked be jubilant?

  100. How long must your servant wait?

  101. When will you punish my persecutors?

  102. Now isn't that your cry?

  103. Isn't that your experience in life?

  104. You work hard for your employer.

  105. You do everything that's right,

  106. but then you watch

  107. as the lazy and the cheats get a pay rise.

  108. Where's the justice in that?

  109. Someone has wronged you

  110. and every time you see them

  111. it's a reminder that they got away.

  112. It's as if they're sneering and laughing at you.

  113. Where's the justice in that?

  114. We turn on the news

  115. and watch as another bomb goes off

  116. and more lives are lost

  117. and we wonder,

  118. what is God doing?

  119. How long

  120. till you put it all right?

  121. You see,

  122. these are the normal questions

  123. of Christians

  124. as we live on the one hand

  125. with God's promise of justice,

  126. but then the reality of injustice.

  127. And there's this tension.

  128. God says,

  129. I'm going to put everything right,

  130. but our experience in life

  131. is that nothing seems to be right.

  132. That was certainly the experience

  133. of the prophet Habakkuk

  134. as he sees his own people

  135. being oppressed

  136. by an invading nation.

  137. Have a look at Habakkuk chapter 1.

    Habakkuk 1 chapter mention

  138. It's one of those books

  139. that are there,

  140. but we find hard to find.

  141. It's on page 490, I think,

  142. if you're using a red-covered Bible.

  143. Sorry?

  144. Oh, sorry, 940.

  145. 940.

  146. Habakkuk chapter 1.

    Habakkuk 1 chapter mention

  147. So here's a man called by God,

  148. a prophet,

  149. to speak into the people

  150. in their situation.

  151. He knows of God's promise of justice,

  152. but yet his experience in life

  153. is one of injustice.

  154. page 940,

  155. Habakkuk chapter 1.

    Habakkuk 1 chapter mention

  156. Let's pick it up in verse 2.

  157. How long, O Lord,

  158. must I call for help,

  159. but you do not listen,

  160. or cry out to you,

  161. violence,

  162. but you do not save.

  163. Have you not heard,

  164. God,

  165. the cries of those

  166. 270 girls

  167. that were kidnapped

  168. by Boko Haram,

  169. or the 1,000 other children

  170. who've been snatched

  171. on their way to school?

  172. Have you not heard

  173. their cries at night

  174. as they long for their parents?

  175. Verse 3.

  176. Why do you make me

  177. look at injustice?

  178. Why do you tolerate wrong?

  179. God,

  180. do you not know

  181. about the 23 million people

  182. who are suffering

  183. to the point of sickness

  184. and starvation

  185. in that evil

  186. and cruel state

  187. of North Korea?

  188. Can you not see

  189. what's going on?

  190. Verse 3.

  191. Destruction and violence

  192. are before me.

  193. There is strife

  194. and conflict abounds.

  195. Do you not care

  196. about that innocent man?

  197. This past week,

  198. that father of three,

  199. struggling with his

  200. drug addiction,

  201. then being shot

  202. in the face

  203. and killed?

  204. Do you not care

  205. about these things?

  206. Verse 4.

  207. Therefore the law

  208. is paralysed

  209. and justice

  210. never prevails.

  211. The wicked

  212. hem in the righteous

  213. so that justice

  214. is perverted.

  215. How long?

  216. How long,

  217. O Lord,

  218. till you deliver

  219. on that promise

  220. to renew

  221. and restore

  222. this disordered world

  223. and our broken lives?

  224. Or is this just

  225. some big sick joke

  226. and you're just

  227. leading us up

  228. the narrow path

  229. to a dead end?

  230. God has answered.

  231. God has answered

  232. in time

  233. and in history

  234. in three ways.

  235. First,

  236. justice has been done

  237. at the cross.

  238. You see,

  239. when Jesus came

  240. and moved

  241. into this world,

  242. he moved

  243. into a world

  244. of injustice.

  245. He wasn't immune

  246. to the suffering.

  247. He was a man

  248. who suffered

  249. unjustly.

  250. Jesus was innocent

  251. of any crime.

  252. He was without sin,

  253. but yet he was

  254. beaten,

  255. whipped,

  256. crushed,

  257. broken,

  258. crucified

  259. on a wooden cross.

  260. But Jesus' death

  261. was so much more

  262. than just identifying

  263. with the injustices

  264. of the world.

  265. His death

  266. was our substitution.

  267. Go with me,

  268. please,

  269. to Luke's Gospel,

  270. chapter 23.

  271. Luke's Gospel,

  272. chapter 23.

  273. In Luke 23,

  274. we have the account

  275. of Jesus

  276. dying on the cross.

  277. His execution.

  278. And as Jesus

  279. was crucified,

  280. you remember

  281. that he was

  282. crucified

  283. with two criminals,

  284. one on either side.

  285. And we pick it up

  286. in verse 39.

  287. So we picture there

  288. this innocent one

  289. crucified

  290. on the cross.

  291. Verse 39,

  292. and one of the criminals

  293. who hung there

  294. hurled their insults

  295. at him.

  296. Aren't you the Christ?

  297. Well, save yourself

  298. and us.

  299. But the other criminal

  300. rebuked him.

  301. Don't you fear God,

  302. he said,

  303. since you are

  304. under the same sentence?

  305. We are punished

  306. justly,

  307. for we are getting

  308. what our deeds

  309. deserve.

  310. But this man

  311. has done nothing wrong.

  312. You see,

  313. in the history

  314. of the world,

  315. there is only one

  316. who is truly

  317. innocent.

  318. That is the God-man

  319. who hung

  320. on the cross.

  321. We might not be

  322. responsible for

  323. acts of terrorism.

  324. We might not have

  325. siphoned off

  326. taxpayers' money

  327. into our own

  328. personal accounts.

  329. but each one

  330. of us

  331. has acted

  332. unjustly

  333. towards others.

  334. Our words,

  335. my words,

  336. have hurt

  337. the innocent.

  338. Our greed,

  339. my greed,

  340. has caused

  341. needy people

  342. to suffer.

  343. You see,

  344. if justice

  345. is to be done,

  346. if we want

  347. God to bring

  348. his justice,

  349. justice,

  350. then we too

  351. deserve

  352. to be punished.

  353. If we want

  354. God to come

  355. right now

  356. and correct

  357. all wrongs

  358. and put

  359. everything right,

  360. then that means

  361. God must not

  362. just deal with

  363. the world,

  364. he must deal

  365. with me.

  366. Why should I

  367. be excluded

  368. and stand apart

  369. from it all

  370. and be let

  371. off the hook?

  372. Well,

  373. in history,

  374. God has come

  375. in the person

  376. of Jesus Christ.

  377. Jesus came

  378. into this world

  379. to be our

  380. substitute

  381. and he was

  382. treated as you

  383. and I deserve

  384. to be treated

  385. because Jesus

  386. came and took

  387. all our acts

  388. of injustice

  389. on himself

  390. and so the

  391. justice of God

  392. falls not on us

  393. but it falls

  394. on his son

  395. on the cross

  396. who takes the

  397. blame

  398. for all that

  399. we have done

  400. wrong.

  401. verse 42

  402. this is criminal

  403. he says to

  404. Jesus

  405. remember me

  406. when you come

  407. into your kingdom

  408. and Jesus

  409. answered him

  410. I tell you the

  411. truth

  412. today

  413. you will be

  414. with me

  415. in paradise

  416. you see

  417. when we fall

  418. in dependence

  419. upon God

  420. when we

  421. acknowledge our

  422. guilt

  423. when we trust

  424. in Christ

  425. alone

  426. we can be

  427. forgiven

  428. of all of

  429. our sin

  430. we are

  431. welcomed as

  432. that criminal

  433. was

  434. into paradise

  435. itself

  436. the new

  437. creation

  438. where justice

  439. reigns

  440. and where

  441. peace

  442. rules

  443. justice

  444. is done

  445. at the cross

  446. well justice

  447. has been done

  448. at the cross

  449. and justice

  450. is being

  451. done

  452. through the

  453. church

  454. you see

  455. when we

  456. turn

  457. independence

  458. to Christ

  459. he doesn't

  460. just leave

  461. us as we

  462. are

  463. he transforms

  464. us into

  465. the kind

  466. of people

  467. who begin

  468. to live

  469. and act

  470. justly

  471. the church

  472. is to be

  473. a place

  474. where we

  475. speak up

  476. for the

  477. oppressed

  478. where we

  479. give a voice

  480. to the

  481. unborn

  482. who provide

  483. for those

  484. who have

  485. suffered

  486. injustices

  487. have a look

  488. at Acts

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  489. chapter 2

  490. here we get

  491. this wonderful

  492. picture

  493. of the church

  494. and how

  495. it should

  496. operate

  497. a people

  498. of justice

  499. Acts chapter 2

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  500. and verse

  501. 44

  502. so chapter

  503. 2 verse

  504. 44

  505. all the

  506. believers

  507. were together

  508. and had

  509. everything in

  510. common

  511. selling their

  512. possessions

  513. and goods

  514. they gave

  515. to anyone

  516. as they

  517. had need

  518. this is a

  519. picture of

  520. God's new

  521. people

  522. the church

  523. those who

  524. have been

  525. changed

  526. by God

  527. now begin

  528. to reflect

  529. the very

  530. character

  531. of God

  532. to others

  533. they look

  534. out for

  535. the most

  536. vulnerable

  537. the weak

  538. and the

  539. poor

  540. they look

  541. out for

  542. those who

  543. have suffered

  544. injustice

  545. in fact

  546. those who

  547. have much

  548. have a

  549. very special

  550. responsibility

  551. have a look

  552. at chapter 4

  553. and verse

  554. 34

  555. again we

  556. have a

  557. picture

  558. of what

  559. the church

  560. should be

  561. as the

  562. believers

  563. met together

  564. look at

  565. verse 34

  566. there were

  567. no needy

  568. persons

  569. among them

  570. for from

  571. time to

  572. time those

  573. who owned

  574. lands or

  575. houses sold

  576. them brought

  577. the money

  578. from the

  579. sales and

  580. put it at

  581. the apostles

  582. feet and

  583. it was

  584. distributed to

  585. anyone as

  586. he had

  587. need

  588. you see the

  589. needy today

  590. is the

  591. refugee who

  592. is fleeing

  593. from Syria

  594. it's the

  595. homeless person

  596. which includes

  597. those who are

  598. living in

  599. emergency

  600. accommodation

  601. it's a

  602. single mum

  603. who's suffering

  604. abuse at the

  605. hands of her

  606. so-called

  607. lovers

  608. it's the

  609. father who's

  610. having to

  611. work three

  612. jobs trying

  613. to make

  614. ends meet

  615. it's the

  616. immigrant who

  617. can't speak

  618. English and

  619. needs help

  620. and support

  621. if we are

  622. people who've

  623. experienced the

  624. grace of God

  625. where the

  626. justice of God

  627. has not fallen

  628. on us but

  629. upon his son

  630. so that we

  631. can be

  632. forgiven

  633. if that is

  634. our experience

  635. we will be

  636. a people who

  637. are seeking

  638. justice in

  639. the lives of

  640. those who

  641. are most

  642. needy

  643. instead of

  644. crying out

  645. what is

  646. God doing

  647. what are

  648. God's people

  649. doing

  650. one of the

  651. ways we

  652. seek to do

  653. that as a

  654. church is

  655. through what

  656. we call

  657. ministries of

  658. mercy

  659. we have a

  660. financial fund

  661. to provide

  662. for the

  663. practical and

  664. social needs

  665. of other

  666. people

  667. in some

  668. way to

  669. reflect the

  670. character of

  671. God to

  672. those who

  673. do not yet

  674. know God

  675. so God's

  676. plan is not

  677. that justice

  678. has been done

  679. on the cross

  680. but justice

  681. is being done

  682. through his

  683. people

  684. the church

  685. but there's

  686. a third

  687. way

  688. justice

  689. will be

  690. done

  691. when Jesus

  692. returns

  693. have a look

  694. at Revelation

    Revelation 6 chapter mention

  695. chapter 6

  696. Revelation

    Revelation 6 chapter mention

  697. chapter 6

  698. Revelation

  699. is this

  700. spectacular

  701. vision

  702. of what

  703. is going

  704. to happen

  705. in the

  706. end

  707. if you

  708. want to

  709. know

  710. how the

  711. history

  712. of the

  713. world

  714. the story

  715. is going

  716. to reach

  717. its

  718. conclusion

  719. read

  720. Revelation

  721. but it's

  722. full of

  723. imagery

  724. and symbolism

  725. so we

  726. don't take

  727. everything

  728. literally

  729. it's got

  730. full of

  731. vibrant

  732. colours

  733. and pictures

  734. to help

  735. us see

  736. and at

  737. the heart

  738. of this

  739. vision

  740. comes this

  741. question

  742. in

  743. Revelation

    Revelation 6 chapter mention

  744. chapter 6

  745. and verse

  746. 10

  747. Revelation

    Revelation 6:10

  748. chapter 6

  749. verse 10

  750. there's a

  751. question

  752. that is being

  753. raised by

  754. God's people

  755. as they look

  756. out on the

  757. world and see

  758. the injustice

  759. that is going

  760. on

  761. do you see

  762. what it says

  763. there in

  764. verse 10

  765. they called

  766. out in a

  767. loud voice

  768. how long

  769. sovereign

  770. Lord

  771. holy and

  772. true

  773. until you

  774. judge the

  775. inhabitants

  776. of the

  777. earth

  778. and avenge

  779. our blood

  780. how long

  781. is it going

  782. to be

  783. till you

  784. bring justice

  785. to those

  786. who are

  787. suffering

  788. injustice

  789. well as we

  790. read through

  791. the conclusion

  792. of the story

  793. we're not

  794. told a

  795. day or a

  796. date

  797. but we are

  798. simply told

  799. that justice

  800. will come

  801. and we are

  802. given a picture

  803. of what it

  804. will look like

  805. have a look at

  806. Revelation

    Revelation 19 chapter mention

  807. chapter 19

  808. Revelation 19

  809. we have this

  810. incredible picture

  811. we need to

  812. engage our

  813. minds here

  814. in this

  815. to picture

  816. it

  817. this is what

  818. it will be

  819. like

  820. when the

  821. risen

  822. Lord Jesus

  823. returns

  824. in all

  825. his glory

  826. and all

  827. his power

  828. and will

  829. fulfill the

  830. promise to

  831. bring justice

  832. upon all

  833. peoples

  834. and all

  835. nations

  836. let me read

  837. from verse

  838. 11

  839. so picture

  840. this scene

  841. standing as it

  842. were if we're

  843. looking up

  844. to the sky

  845. I saw

  846. heaven

  847. standing

  848. open

  849. and there

  850. before me

  851. was a

  852. white

  853. horse

  854. a white

  855. horse

  856. being a

  857. symbol

  858. of the

  859. purity

  860. of the

  861. one who

  862. is to

  863. come

  864. the rider

  865. is called

  866. faithful

  867. and true

  868. faithful to

  869. all his

  870. promises

  871. throughout

  872. time

  873. to renew

  874. this broken

  875. world

  876. and restore

  877. disordered

  878. lives

  879. he is

  880. true

  881. he is

  882. going to

  883. expose

  884. every

  885. single

  886. wrong

  887. nothing

  888. will be

  889. kept

  890. hidden

  891. everything

  892. will be

  893. shown

  894. for what

  895. it is

  896. with

  897. justice

  898. he judges

  899. and makes

  900. war

  901. his eyes

  902. are like

  903. blazing

  904. fire

  905. and on

  906. his head

  907. are many

  908. crowns

  909. here is

  910. one

  911. with

  912. absolute

  913. power

  914. and supreme

  915. authority

  916. over all

  917. things

  918. and over

  919. all people

  920. he has

  921. a name

  922. written

  923. on him

  924. that no

  925. one knows

  926. but he

  927. himself

  928. in other

  929. words

  930. nobody

  931. can

  932. comprehend

  933. his

  934. awesome

  935. rule

  936. and power

  937. you cannot

  938. confine

  939. him to

  940. a mere

  941. name

  942. you cannot

  943. squish him

  944. down into

  945. a box

  946. that you

  947. can manage

  948. he is

  949. bigger

  950. and beyond

  951. and greater

  952. than all

  953. things

  954. verse 13

  955. he is

  956. dressed

  957. in a

  958. robe

  959. dripped

  960. in blood

  961. because

  962. this

  963. faithful

  964. and true

  965. rider

  966. on his

  967. white

  968. horse

  969. is nothing

  970. less

  971. than the

  972. crucified

  973. Jesus

  974. whose

  975. blood

  976. was shed

  977. for you

  978. and for

  979. me

  980. and now

  981. he comes

  982. in victory

  983. and in

  984. power

  985. his name

  986. is the

  987. word

  988. of God

  989. verse 14

  990. the armies

  991. of heaven

  992. were following

  993. him

  994. riding on

  995. white horses

  996. and dressed

  997. in fine

  998. linen

  999. white and

  1000. clean

  1001. the armies

  1002. are not

  1003. just the

  1004. armies

  1005. all the

  1006. angels

  1007. but God's

  1008. people

  1009. those who

  1010. have trusted

  1011. in him

  1012. will be

  1013. with him

  1014. as he

  1015. rides in

  1016. victory

  1017. with power

  1018. and authority

  1019. and they

  1020. will be

  1021. behind him

  1022. on their

  1023. horses

  1024. coming to

  1025. bring

  1026. justice

  1027. verse 15

  1028. out of his

  1029. mouth

  1030. comes a

  1031. sharp

  1032. sword

  1033. and with

  1034. it to

  1035. which he

  1036. will strike

  1037. down the

  1038. nations

  1039. he will

  1040. rule them

  1041. with an

  1042. iron scepter

  1043. because with

  1044. his word

  1045. he will

  1046. execute

  1047. justice

  1048. punishing

  1049. wrong

  1050. and protecting

  1051. the weak

  1052. he treads

  1053. the wine

  1054. press of

  1055. the fury

  1056. of the wrath

  1057. of God

  1058. almighty

  1059. just as

  1060. those in

  1061. days gone

  1062. past

  1063. would have

  1064. gone out

  1065. to the

  1066. vineyard

  1067. and collected

  1068. the grapes

  1069. and brought

  1070. it back

  1071. into the

  1072. big vat

  1073. and they

  1074. would put

  1075. all the

  1076. grapes

  1077. there

  1078. and then

  1079. the servants

  1080. would come

  1081. and they

  1082. would trample

  1083. on the

  1084. grapes

  1085. squeezing

  1086. the juice

  1087. out of them

  1088. until it

  1089. ran below

  1090. into the

  1091. vats

  1092. underneath

  1093. well in

  1094. this image

  1095. in this

  1096. picture

  1097. we see

  1098. God

  1099. gathering

  1100. the nations

  1101. of the

  1102. world

  1103. and as it

  1104. were

  1105. he treads

  1106. and he

  1107. crushes

  1108. upon them

  1109. bringing

  1110. his justice

  1111. to all

  1112. who have

  1113. defied him

  1114. and not

  1115. one will

  1116. escape

  1117. justice

  1118. will be

  1119. done

  1120. verse 16

  1121. and on

  1122. his robe

  1123. and on

  1124. his thigh

  1125. he has

  1126. his name

  1127. written

  1128. the king

  1129. of kings

  1130. and the

  1131. lord of

  1132. lords

  1133. just as

  1134. God had

  1135. promised

  1136. that a

  1137. saviour

  1138. would come

  1139. and that

  1140. saviour

  1141. did come

  1142. so God

  1143. has promised

  1144. to you

  1145. and me

  1146. that one

  1147. day his

  1148. judge

  1149. the risen

  1150. Jesus

  1151. is going

  1152. to come

  1153. Jesus

  1154. the risen

  1155. king

  1156. will come

  1157. and execute

  1158. justice

  1159. upon all

  1160. peoples

  1161. and all

  1162. nations

  1163. how will

  1164. we stand

  1165. before this

  1166. king of kings

  1167. and lord of

  1168. lords when he

  1169. comes

  1170. the only

  1171. place for us

  1172. to stand

  1173. is to stand

  1174. under the cross

  1175. where justice

  1176. has been

  1177. done

  1178. where we

  1179. take refuge

  1180. where the

  1181. justice of

  1182. God has

  1183. fallen on

  1184. his son

  1185. instead of

  1186. you and

  1187. me

  1188. so that we

  1189. can look

  1190. forward to a

  1191. new heavens

  1192. and a new

  1193. earth where

  1194. everything is

  1195. put right

  1196. not because we

  1197. deserve it

  1198. but because of

  1199. his grace

  1200. and his mercy

  1201. justice

  1202. will be done

  1203. let's pray

  1204. or

  1205. pray

  1206. on
