  1. So, turn in your Bibles, please, to 1 Corinthians, chapter 2.

    1 Corinthians 2 chapter mention

  2. 1 Corinthians, chapter 2. I'm going to read the first five verses.

    1 Corinthians 2 chapter mention

  3. This is the Apostle Paul writing to the church in Corinth.

  4. And this is what he writes. And it's a word for us today as well.

  5. 1 Corinthians 2.

  6. And so it was with me, brothers and sisters, when I came to you, I did not come with eloquence

  7. or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

  8. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you, except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

  9. I came to you in weakness, with great fear and trembling.

  10. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words,

  11. but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

  12. so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power.

  13. Let's pray before we look at this word together.

  14. Father, you've given us food to eat today.

  15. You've given us drink.

  16. You nourish us.

  17. And you sustain us physically.

  18. But how much more are we desperately in need for your Spirit?

  19. And so we pray that as we look at these words together and think about them,

  20. that it would be a demonstration of your Spirit's power at work amongst us today,

  21. so that you would cause us to lean upon you,

  22. to trust you,

  23. depend upon you,

  24. so that you would do an effective and eternal work

  25. in the lives of people causing them to trust in you too.

  26. So help us now.

  27. In Jesus' name.

  28. Amen.

  29. Well, I'm sure you're all familiar with the TV show, The Apprentice.

  30. The host, Mr. Lord Sugar himself,

  31. invites 15 or so people to compete against each other

  32. in a series of business tasks.

  33. And the winner gets to receive, in case you're interested,

  34. £250,000

  35. and becomes Lord Sugar's apprentice.

  36. But I wonder if you've also noticed that the winners of this show

  37. are always charming and clever.

  38. They're already very successful in their own little businesses

  39. and very wealthy.

  40. It seems to be that they are the best and the brightest.

  41. And above all, they have an extraordinary self-confidence

  42. in themselves and in their message.

  43. They don't just sell snow to the Eskimos,

  44. they can sell rain to the Irish.

  45. Now, in many ways, that just reflects the values of our society

  46. and it mirrors our culture.

  47. You see, we live in a world

  48. where the weak are disregarded

  49. and the foolish are despised.

  50. There's only room for the best and the brightest.

  51. We want winners and not losers.

  52. But when it comes to God's plan and purpose,

  53. as we've been thinking about this morning,

  54. to create a kingdom from every nation,

  55. to love him,

  56. well, those values of the world

  57. are turned completely upside down.

  58. Because what we're going to see from the text that we read today

  59. is this.

  60. And I've just suddenly thought,

  61. I always get mixed up how to spell chooses and chose.

  62. So if I've got that wrong anywhere,

  63. please forgive me.

  64. God chooses weak people,

  65. sends them with a foolish message,

  66. fills them with extraordinary power,

  67. so that lives are changed.

  68. How different that is

  69. to the standards of the world.

  70. Weak people,

  71. with a foolish message,

  72. give an extraordinary power,

  73. so that lives are changed.

  74. That's what we're thinking about today.

  75. So let's take each part in turn.

  76. God chooses weak people.

  77. Look at chapter 2, verse 1.

  78. So it was with me,

  79. says Paul, brothers and sisters,

  80. when I came to you,

  81. I didn't come with eloquence or human wisdom,

  82. as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

  83. When I came to your town and city

  84. and I preached to you,

  85. I was nothing special.

  86. In fact, he's saying,

  87. I was just like you.

  88. Beginning of verse 1,

  89. so it was with me,

  90. brothers and sisters,

  91. I was just like you.

  92. So what were the church like?

  93. Well, we're told in the previous section,

  94. go back to chapter 1, verse 26.

  95. Brothers and sisters,

  96. think of what you were when you were called.

  97. Think about, for a moment,

  98. what you were when you became a Christian.

  99. Not many of you were wise by human standards.

  100. Some, but not many,

  101. were leading professors in the world of academics.

  102. Not many of you were influential.

  103. A few,

  104. but not many were powerful politicians

  105. influencing the nation's economy.

  106. And not many of you were noble birth.

  107. One of two,

  108. one or two of you,

  109. but not many of you were born with great wealth

  110. and status and privilege.

  111. He's reminding them that,

  112. well,

  113. they were a bunch of nobodies.

  114. And that's really a picture of us.

  115. It's a picture of Amy.

  116. As far as the world's elite and the standards go,

  117. well,

  118. we're nothing.

  119. We have an education

  120. and we may have a few qualifications

  121. and letters after our name,

  122. but we're not being chased up

  123. to have our thoughts published

  124. to the world.

  125. You see,

  126. when God looked at us,

  127. we weren't standing out in a crowd.

  128. We weren't spotted by God on Instagram

  129. because we had so many followers.

  130. We were people who had nothing to offer.

  131. In the eyes of the world,

  132. nothing special.

  133. Now,

  134. isn't that incredibly humbling?

  135. Because we all like to think

  136. we are somebody special,

  137. or at the very least,

  138. that we're somehow better

  139. than the person sitting next to me.

  140. So,

  141. if we're nothing special,

  142. how did we ever become a Christian

  143. in the first place?

  144. Well,

  145. look at verse 27,

  146. chapter 1,

  147. verse 27.

  148. We're told that God chose

  149. the foolish things of the world

  150. to shame the wise.

  151. God chose the weak things of the world

  152. to shame the strong.

  153. God chose the lowly things of this world

  154. and the despised things

  155. and the things that are not

  156. to nullify or cancel

  157. the things that are.

  158. You see,

  159. God didn't choose us

  160. because we were special.

  161. Maybe you can remember

  162. back to your school days,

  163. standing in the playground,

  164. being lined up,

  165. being picked for a particular football team

  166. or a game of tag

  167. or whatever it was.

  168. Always the sporty and the fastest.

  169. They always got chosen first.

  170. And then the rest were ignored or rejected.

  171. You can go and play on your own,

  172. do your own thing.

  173. Well,

  174. it's no different today,

  175. is it?

  176. The world picks the beautiful,

  177. the wealthy,

  178. the clever.

  179. But God doesn't choose

  180. by the standards of this world.

  181. God isn't influenced

  182. about anything about our exterior

  183. or anything good we do

  184. or anything bad that we do.

  185. God is driven by his grace

  186. because he loves us.

  187. Verse 27,

  188. God chose the foolish,

  189. the weak,

  190. the lowly,

  191. the despised.

  192. God chose nobodies

  193. just like us.

  194. You see,

  195. he seeks a people

  196. who know

  197. they are not qualified.

  198. People like Amy

  199. who have come to see that,

  200. well,

  201. Amy knows that she has nothing

  202. to offer God

  203. except for her failure

  204. and her brokenness.

  205. One author puts it like this.

  206. Here we go.

  207. In the kingdom of God,

  208. the one thing that qualifies you

  209. is knowing that you don't qualify

  210. and the one thing that disqualifies you

  211. is thinking that you do.

  212. God chooses weak people.

  213. So why?

  214. But why does God choose those

  215. who are weak?

  216. Now I've gone and messed up a bit here.

  217. Oh dear.

  218. Never mind.

  219. Why does God choose those who are weak?

  220. Well, look at verse 29.

  221. So that no one

  222. may boast before him.

  223. If ever I could say

  224. I'm a Christian

  225. or Amy,

  226. you could say

  227. I'm a Christian

  228. because

  229. because I

  230. because I

  231. obeyed

  232. because

  233. I went to Sheffield

  234. because

  235. well

  236. we have reason for boasting,

  237. don't we?

  238. It's something I've done

  239. that qualifies me.

  240. No, we're only qualified

  241. because of

  242. Christ.

  243. Verse 30.

  244. It is because of

  245. God

  246. that you are

  247. in Christ Jesus

  248. who's become for us

  249. wisdom from God

  250. that is our righteousness,

  251. holiness

  252. and redemption.

  253. Christ

  254. took your

  255. unrighteousness, Amy

  256. and gave you

  257. his righteousness

  258. so that you are

  259. acceptable to God.

  260. He took your

  261. unholiness

  262. and gave you

  263. his holiness

  264. so that you are

  265. treated as

  266. blameless.

  267. He's redeemed us

  268. from a life of

  269. slavery,

  270. setting us free

  271. so that we can

  272. live a new life

  273. to please him.

  274. All this

  275. has been given

  276. to us

  277. freely

  278. because God

  279. loves us.

  280. None of us

  281. on our own

  282. qualify.

  283. He makes us

  284. his people

  285. righteous,

  286. holy

  287. and redeemed.

  288. He qualifies

  289. you, Amy.

  290. He qualifies

  291. us

  292. for the task.

  293. Verse 31.

  294. Therefore,

  295. as it is written,

  296. let the one

  297. who boasts

  298. boast

  299. in the Lord.

  300. Amy,

  301. as you go,

  302. always remember

  303. that you are

  304. weak

  305. and your

  306. boasting

  307. is in

  308. Christ

  309. because he

  310. qualifies you

  311. to do

  312. what you

  313. could never

  314. do

  315. on your

  316. own.

  317. So,

  318. God chooses

  319. weak people.

  320. Second,

  321. God

  322. sends

  323. with a

  324. foolish

  325. message.

  326. Paul's

  327. message was

  328. very simple,

  329. wasn't it?

  330. He explains it

  331. like this,

  332. chapter 2,

  333. verse 2.

  334. For I

  335. resolved to

  336. know nothing

  337. while I was

  338. with you

  339. except Jesus

  340. Christ

  341. and him

  342. crucified.

  343. Imagine,

  344. he was sent

  345. with a

  346. message

  347. about a

  348. person

  349. called

  350. Jesus

  351. who was

  352. put to

  353. death

  354. as a

  355. criminal.

  356. That's the

  357. message.

  358. And the

  359. problem is

  360. people

  361. don't

  362. always

  363. like it.

  364. For

  365. some,

  366. it's a

  367. nonsense.

  368. Look at

  369. chapter 1,

  370. verse 18.

  371. Do you

  372. see it

  373. there?

  374. Chapter 1,

  375. verse 18.

  376. The message

  377. of the

  378. cross

  379. is

  380. foolishness

  381. to those

  382. who are

  383. perishing.

  384. Professor

  385. Richard Dawkins,

  386. who's a

  387. leading scientist

  388. and atheist,

  389. said this,

  390. you cannot

  391. be an

  392. intelligent

  393. scientific

  394. thinker

  395. and still

  396. hold

  397. to

  398. religious

  399. beliefs.

  400. Don't

  401. know if

  402. you agree

  403. with that,

  404. but what

  405. he's saying

  406. is you

  407. can't be

  408. an educated

  409. person,

  410. an intelligent

  411. person,

  412. and still

  413. believe in

  414. the cross

  415. of Jesus

  416. Christ.

  417. You see,

  418. for many,

  419. the cross

  420. is foolish.

  421. We don't

  422. need anyone

  423. to save

  424. us.

  425. We save

  426. ourselves.

  427. Salvation

  428. for humanity

  429. is found in

  430. the wisdom

  431. that we

  432. have and

  433. that we

  434. can learn.

  435. And Amy

  436. is being

  437. sent to

  438. Sheffield

  439. with a

  440. foolish

  441. message.

  442. A message

  443. that some

  444. people will

  445. think is

  446. completely

  447. daft,

  448. and some

  449. of your

  450. friends will

  451. think you're

  452. daft.

  453. But listen

  454. to what God

  455. says.

  456. Verse 18.

  457. Let's read

  458. it all.

  459. For the

  460. message of

  461. the cross

  462. is foolishness

  463. to those

  464. who are

  465. perishing,

  466. but to

  467. us who

  468. are being

  469. saved,

  470. it's the

  471. power of

  472. God.

  473. For it

  474. is written,

  475. I will

  476. destroy the

  477. wisdom of

  478. the wise,

  479. the

  480. intelligence

  481. of the

  482. intelligent,

  483. I will

  484. frustrate.

  485. The very

  486. thing that

  487. the world

  488. counts as

  489. foolish and

  490. nonsense,

  491. God says,

  492. I will show

  493. the world

  494. that this

  495. is actually

  496. the means

  497. of salvation.

  498. The world's

  499. wisdom says,

  500. we can go

  501. it alone,

  502. we don't

  503. need God,

  504. we don't

  505. need a

  506. cross,

  507. but God

  508. in his

  509. wisdom used

  510. the very

  511. thing that

  512. was foolish

  513. to save

  514. the world.

  515. Look at

  516. the end

  517. of verse

  518. 21,

  519. chapter 1,

  520. end of

  521. verse 21.

  522. God was

  523. pleased

  524. through the

  525. foolishness

  526. of what

  527. was preached

  528. to save

  529. those who

  530. believe.

  531. You see,

  532. the wisdom

  533. of the

  534. world has

  535. achieved great

  536. things.

  537. We can do

  538. amazing things.

  539. We can send

  540. rockets to the

  541. moon.

  542. India did

  543. that recently

  544. to see if

  545. there was

  546. ice.

  547. I don't

  548. know what

  549. they'll do

  550. with the

  551. ice if

  552. they find

  553. ice there,

  554. but maybe

  555. there is.

  556. We can

  557. write books

  558. and plays

  559. and I've

  560. even discovered

  561. you can

  562. write sermons

  563. using the

  564. use of

  565. artificial

  566. intelligence.

  567. This sermon

  568. wasn't AI,

  569. don't worry.

  570. We can

  571. slow down

  572. and cure

  573. degenerative

  574. diseases

  575. and prolong

  576. life.

  577. We've done

  578. amazing things

  579. through our

  580. wisdom,

  581. but the

  582. world is

  583. still broken.

  584. The human

  585. heart is

  586. still selfish

  587. and it's

  588. still sinful

  589. beyond our

  590. ability to

  591. fix or

  592. cure or

  593. heal.

  594. And God's

  595. answer to

  596. this is the

  597. good news of

  598. Jesus Christ

  599. crucified.

  600. A loving

  601. God who

  602. comes to

  603. us in the

  604. person of

  605. Jesus Christ

  606. to reach

  607. us where

  608. we're at.

  609. Verse 22,

  610. we're still

  611. in chapter

  612. 1.

  613. Jews demand

  614. signs or

  615. if you like

  616. religious people,

  617. well they want

  618. miracles and

  619. all the

  620. razzmatazz

  621. and wonderful

  622. things.

  623. Greeks look

  624. for wisdom,

  625. for knock

  626. down arguments

  627. and philosophy.

  628. But we

  629. preach Christ

  630. crucified,

  631. a stumbling

  632. block to

  633. religious folk

  634. and foolishness

  635. to those who

  636. are not

  637. religious.

  638. amy, your

  639. task, your

  640. calling is

  641. to bring

  642. people to

  643. the foolishness

  644. of the

  645. cross,

  646. to see the

  647. broken body

  648. of Jesus

  649. beaten,

  650. crushed

  651. and naked,

  652. to see nails

  653. driven into

  654. his hands and

  655. feet, ripping

  656. and tearing

  657. flesh,

  658. to see

  659. crown of

  660. thorns

  661. crushed

  662. into his

  663. skull,

  664. blood

  665. blinding

  666. his eyes

  667. and dripping

  668. down his

  669. side,

  670. hearing the

  671. agony and

  672. the pain,

  673. the grasping

  674. for breath

  675. as life

  676. edges away.

  677. Watch at the

  678. cross as

  679. crowds jeer

  680. and taunt

  681. and spit

  682. and laugh.

  683. the cross

  684. of Christ

  685. is a picture

  686. of weakness,

  687. it's a

  688. bloody mess,

  689. foolish,

  690. stupid,

  691. pathetic,

  692. but look

  693. at verse

  694. 24,

  695. to those

  696. whom God

  697. has called,

  698. whether Jews

  699. or Greeks

  700. or from

  701. wherever they

  702. come from,

  703. Christ,

  704. the power

  705. of God

  706. and the

  707. wisdom of

  708. God.

  709. Amy,

  710. we're sending

  711. you to

  712. proclaim a

  713. foolish message

  714. that has

  715. the power

  716. to save

  717. anyone.

  718. So tell

  719. the good

  720. news of

  721. the cross.

  722. Let the

  723. women see

  724. that Christ

  725. has died

  726. for all

  727. of their

  728. sin,

  729. past,

  730. present and

  731. future.

  732. Show them

  733. that they

  734. can be

  735. forgiven

  736. and no

  737. longer have

  738. to live

  739. with fear,

  740. guilt or

  741. shame.

  742. declare that

  743. they are

  744. loved and

  745. treasured

  746. by God,

  747. that they

  748. can be

  749. beautiful

  750. daughters of

  751. Father God

  752. who is not

  753. just great

  754. but good

  755. and personal

  756. and gracious.

  757. Teach them

  758. nothing less

  759. and nothing

  760. more than

  761. this simple

  762. message of

  763. Jesus Christ

  764. and him

  765. crucified.

  766. again as

  767. one writer

  768. put it

  769. on the

  770. cross

  771. the one

  772. person who

  773. ever truly

  774. qualified

  775. allowed

  776. himself to

  777. be

  778. disqualified

  779. so that

  780. you and

  781. I who are

  782. naturally

  783. disqualified

  784. can qualify

  785. free

  786. of charge.

  787. so why

  788. does God

  789. use such

  790. a foolish

  791. message?

  792. Well to

  793. humble the

  794. proud.

  795. Look at

  796. verse 25.

  797. For the

  798. foolishness of

  799. God is

  800. wiser

  801. than the

  802. human

  803. wisdom

  804. and the

  805. weakness

  806. of God

  807. is stronger

  808. than human

  809. strength.

  810. You see

  811. God is not

  812. seeking those

  813. who rely on

  814. their own

  815. wisdom

  816. or their

  817. own

  818. strength.

  819. The saying

  820. we all

  821. know it

  822. God helps

  823. those who

  824. help

  825. themselves.

  826. It's not

  827. a Bible

  828. verse.

  829. It's false

  830. teaching.

  831. If we are

  832. to experience

  833. God's work

  834. in us and

  835. his salvation

  836. we come in

  837. humility.

  838. We admit

  839. that my

  840. wisdom

  841. my wisdom

  842. from myself

  843. is foolish

  844. and my

  845. strength is

  846. complete

  847. weakness.

  848. Amy

  849. preach the

  850. cross to

  851. others

  852. but preach

  853. the cross

  854. to yourself

  855. every day.

  856. It will

  857. keep you

  858. humble.

  859. So

  860. weak

  861. people

  862. with a

  863. foolish

  864. message

  865. equipped

  866. with

  867. extraordinary

  868. power.

  869. Paul came

  870. in weakness

  871. didn't he?

  872. He was sent

  873. with a foolish

  874. message.

  875. But look

  876. in verses

  877. chapter 2

  878. verses 3

  879. and 4

  880. he was

  881. equipped

  882. by God's

  883. power.

  884. Do you see

  885. it there

  886. verse 3?

  887. I came

  888. to you

  889. in weakness

  890. with great

  891. fear

  892. and trembling.

  893. Did you

  894. write those

  895. words Amy?

  896. My message

  897. and my

  898. preaching

  899. were not

  900. with wise

  901. and persuasive

  902. words

  903. but with

  904. a demonstration

  905. of the

  906. Spirit's

  907. power.

  908. The people

  909. God uses

  910. are weak.

  911. The message

  912. we have

  913. is foolish.

  914. But it's

  915. the means

  916. by which

  917. God works.

  918. Amy if

  919. you're to

  920. lead someone

  921. to Christ

  922. it's not

  923. because of

  924. your ability

  925. it's a

  926. demonstration

  927. of the

  928. Spirit's

  929. power.

  930. If

  931. Carigaline or

  932. Christ Church

  933. Central were

  934. to plant

  935. a church

  936. it's not

  937. our

  938. greatness

  939. it's a

  940. demonstration

  941. of the

  942. Spirit's

  943. power.

  944. If any

  945. good were

  946. to come

  947. from us

  948. or from

  949. our church

  950. it's all

  951. down to

  952. the power

  953. of God

  954. working

  955. through a

  956. simple

  957. people

  958. with a

  959. simple

  960. message.

  961. It doesn't

  962. happen by

  963. our wisdom

  964. or our

  965. persuasive

  966. words.

  967. It's not

  968. our method

  969. or our

  970. technology

  971. our slick

  972. presentation

  973. the dynamic

  974. speaker

  975. the strength

  976. of our

  977. faith

  978. or the

  979. length

  980. of our

  981. prayers.

  982. It's all

  983. down to

  984. God's

  985. power.

  986. Later on

  987. in the

  988. letter Paul

  989. speaks of

  990. God's

  991. power like

  992. this.

  993. He says

  994. God's

  995. power

  996. raised the

  997. Lord Jesus

  998. from the

  999. dead and

  1000. he will

  1001. also raise

  1002. us also.

  1003. That is

  1004. the power

  1005. at work

  1006. in Amy

  1007. and through

  1008. Amy

  1009. and in

  1010. us

  1011. and through

  1012. us.

  1013. It's

  1014. supernatural.

  1015. It's

  1016. extraordinary.

  1017. And so

  1018. as we

  1019. go

  1020. we depend

  1021. on

  1022. God.

  1023. Look at

  1024. verse 5.

  1025. We need

  1026. the Spirit's

  1027. power,

  1028. verse 5,

  1029. so that

  1030. your faith

  1031. might not

  1032. rest on

  1033. human wisdom

  1034. but on

  1035. God's

  1036. power.

  1037. power.

  1038. We don't

  1039. want people

  1040. trusting in

  1041. Carigoline

  1042. Baptist

  1043. Church.

  1044. We don't

  1045. want followers

  1046. of Johnny

  1047. Grant or

  1048. any program.

  1049. We want

  1050. people who

  1051. will follow

  1052. Jesus and

  1053. people who

  1054. will proclaim

  1055. the cross.

  1056. You see,

  1057. if we depend

  1058. on our

  1059. strength,

  1060. we make

  1061. followers of

  1062. us.

  1063. People will

  1064. become dependent

  1065. on you if

  1066. you are the

  1067. strength.

  1068. Their faith

  1069. will be in

  1070. you.

  1071. In

  1072. Johnny

  1073. Grant we

  1074. trust.

  1075. No,

  1076. don't trust

  1077. me and

  1078. don't trust

  1079. yourself.

  1080. When we

  1081. are weak,

  1082. we depend

  1083. on God

  1084. and people

  1085. become followers

  1086. of him.

  1087. People will

  1088. become dependent

  1089. on him.

  1090. Their faith

  1091. will be in

  1092. Jesus.

  1093. So Amy,

  1094. depend on

  1095. God and

  1096. you will

  1097. experience the

  1098. Spirit's

  1099. power.

  1100. Which brings

  1101. us right

  1102. the way

  1103. through to

  1104. the end.

  1105. God

  1106. chooses

  1107. weak people,

  1108. sending them

  1109. with a

  1110. foolish message,

  1111. giving them

  1112. extraordinary

  1113. power so

  1114. that lives

  1115. are changed.

  1116. This is how

  1117. the church

  1118. in Corinth

  1119. came into

  1120. being.

  1121. It's how

  1122. Carragaline

  1123. came into

  1124. being.

  1125. It's how

  1126. Christ Church

  1127. Central came

  1128. into being.

  1129. This is the

  1130. way God

  1131. works.

  1132. It's the

  1133. way of

  1134. ministry for

  1135. all of

  1136. God's

  1137. people.

  1138. God

  1139. chooses

  1140. weak people

  1141. like you

  1142. and me.

  1143. He sends

  1144. us with a

  1145. foolish message,

  1146. equips us

  1147. with extraordinary

  1148. power so

  1149. that lives

  1150. are changed

  1151. for God's

  1152. glory.

  1153. Let's pray

  1154. together.

  1155. Let's pray.

  1156. Let's pray.

  1157. as we pray,

  1158. I'm going to

  1159. read a

  1160. couple of

  1161. lines from

  1162. an old

  1163. hymn.

  1164. amen.

  1165. Amen.

  1166. Amen.

  1167. Amen.

  1168. Amen.

  1169. Amen.

  1170. Amen.

  1171. Amen.

  1172. Amen.

  1173. We rest

  1174. on thee,

  1175. our shield

  1176. and our

  1177. defender.

  1178. We go

  1179. not forth

  1180. alone

  1181. against the

  1182. foe,

  1183. strong in

  1184. thy strength,

  1185. safe in

  1186. thy keeping

  1187. tender.

  1188. We rest

  1189. on thee,

  1190. and in

  1191. thy name

  1192. we go.

  1193. we go

  1194. in faith,

  1195. our own

  1196. great weakness

  1197. feeling,

  1198. and needing

  1199. more each

  1200. day thy

  1201. grace to

  1202. know.

  1203. Yet from

  1204. our hearts

  1205. a song of

  1206. triumph

  1207. pealing,

  1208. we rest

  1209. on thee,

  1210. and in

  1211. thy name

  1212. we go.

  1213. Father,

  1214. thank you

  1215. that you

  1216. have reached

  1217. people like

  1218. us as

  1219. weak as

  1220. we are.

  1221. Thank you

  1222. for the

  1223. wonderful

  1224. message of

  1225. Jesus Christ.

  1226. Thank you

  1227. that you

  1228. have given

  1229. us your

  1230. spirit's

  1231. power so

  1232. that we

  1233. might go

  1234. as your

  1235. people so

  1236. that others

  1237. are changed

  1238. for their

  1239. good and

  1240. for your

  1241. glory.

  1242. And it's

  1243. in Jesus'

  1244. name we

  1245. all pray.

  1246. Amen.

  1247. We are

  1248. going to

  1249. sing together.

  1250. Let your

  1251. kingdom come,

  1252. let your

  1253. will be

  1254. done so

  1255. that everyone

  1256. might know

  1257. your name.

  1258. As we

  1259. conclude

  1260. this

  1261. chapter 20

  1262. chapter 20

  1263. chapter 20

  1264. chapter 20

  1266. chapter 21
