  1. 22 years ago, the brothers had sold their brother Joseph into slavery.

  2. Not only that, they had tricked their father into thinking he had been killed by a wild animal.

  3. It was a horrendous crime, one the brothers had kept hidden and had kept buried deep in their life.

  4. Unbeknownst to them, throughout those years, Joseph becomes ruler of all of Egypt at the time of great famine.

  5. And he's given the title or the job of selling food to all the other people.

  6. And the brothers are sent down to Egypt to buy food.

  7. And on their arrival, they encounter Joseph.

  8. Joseph immediately recognises his brothers, but the brothers don't recognise Joseph.

  9. Now here's the question.

  10. How would you respond if you were Joseph?

  11. With all the power that you had, being ruler over all,

  12. after all the brothers had done to you, what would you want to do to them?

  13. Well, I would want my pound of flesh.

  14. I would want revenge.

  15. Get even.

  16. Make them pay.

  17. Make them suffer.

  18. Well, surprisingly, Joseph doesn't demand justice at all.

  19. Instead, Joseph treats them with mercy and grace.

  20. In chapter 42, on their first visit down to Egypt to get food,

  21. Joseph doesn't punish them, but he provides for them.

  22. He doesn't treat them as their sins deserve.

  23. He shows them mercy.

  24. And then in chapter 43, on their second visit down to Egypt to get more food,

  25. Joseph amazingly gives them their money back.

  26. And then he invites them to dinner.

  27. He gives them what they do not deserve.

  28. That's grace.

  29. Grace.

  30. Grace.

  31. After all the brothers had done to Joseph,

  32. he doesn't respond with justice, but with mercy and grace.

  33. It's an extraordinary response of love and kindness.

  34. And now in chapter 44,

  35. still keeping his identity from them,

  36. it seems that grace and mercy have been put to one side.

  37. And now it's all bubbled to the surface,

  38. and he is out to get revenge.

  39. Verse 2, look with me.

  40. Joseph gives instructions for his silver cup

  41. to be hidden in the youngest brother,

  42. Benjamin's sack.

  43. Why would he do this?

  44. After all that had happened,

  45. why?

  46. Why would he want to try and trick them?

  47. What's Joseph up to?

  48. Well, I think there's two reasons.

  49. The first one is,

  50. it seems Joseph is testing his brothers

  51. to see if they have changed.

  52. Has the mercy and grace they received

  53. had any effect or any impact in their life?

  54. And second, he chooses Benjamin

  55. because he's the youngest.

  56. When they're confronted with the stolen cup,

  57. are they going to treat Benjamin

  58. the same way in which they treated young Joseph

  59. all those years before?

  60. You see, the big question is,

  61. has mercy and grace made any difference to their life?

  62. Now that's a great question to ask ourselves.

  63. Because God has shown us grace and mercy

  64. that is immeasurable.

  65. Every day, God is good and kind to us.

  66. This is how Psalm 145 puts it.

  67. The Lord is gracious and merciful,

  68. slow to anger,

  69. rich in love.

  70. The Lord is good to all.

  71. And he has compassion on all he has made.

  72. That all includes you and I today.

  73. Justice is what we deserve

  74. for our rebellion against God

  75. and for pushing God out of our lives.

  76. But yet he's good to us.

  77. He shows us mercy and grace.

  78. Now the big question for us is the same.

  79. What difference has grace and mercy made to your life?

  80. You see, mercy and grace doesn't mean,

  81. well, I can live however I please.

  82. Sure, God is merciful and God is gracious.

  83. Sure, that's his job, isn't it?

  84. He forgives people.

  85. No, the reason is to change us

  86. and to transform us.

  87. To make us different kinds of people.

  88. So three things we're going to see.

  89. That when we look at mercy and grace,

  90. it leads to true repentance,

  91. loving sacrifice,

  92. and humble acceptance.

  93. So first, mercy and grace

  94. leads to true repentance

  95. for our sin.

  96. Look at verse 3, chapter 44, verse 3.

  97. As morning dawned,

  98. the brothers were sent on their way

  99. with their donkeys,

  100. or if you like in modern terms,

  101. in their four-wheel jeeps

  102. as they headed out across the desert.

  103. Verse 4,

  104. they had not gone far from the city

  105. when Joseph said to his steward,

  106. quick, go after them at once.

  107. Catch them.

  108. You see, there they are,

  109. driving along,

  110. minding their own business,

  111. when all of a sudden

  112. they hear the sirens

  113. and see flashing blue lights.

  114. Pull over.

  115. It's Joseph's chief of police.

  116. Someone has stolen

  117. the master's silver cup.

  118. verse 7,

  119. but they said to him,

  120. why does my Lord say such things?

  121. Far be it from your servants

  122. to do anything like that.

  123. We wouldn't dream of it.

  124. Verse 9,

  125. if any of your servants

  126. is found to have the cup,

  127. he will die

  128. and the rest of us

  129. will become my Lord's slaves.

  130. Well, very well then,

  131. said the chief of police,

  132. let it be as you say.

  133. Whoever is found to have it

  134. will become my slave.

  135. The rest of you,

  136. well, you can carry on your way.

  137. So there,

  138. verse 11,

  139. a search was conducted

  140. all the way,

  141. verse 12,

  142. from the youngest,

  143. from the eldest

  144. down to the youngest.

  145. There they are,

  146. all lined up

  147. with their bags before them

  148. and the police

  149. go searching one by one.

  150. Nothing here,

  151. nothing here.

  152. Ah!

  153. And then finally,

  154. Benjamin's sack

  155. is opened

  156. and there's the cup.

  157. Verse 13,

  158. at this they tore

  159. their clothes

  160. and they loaded up

  161. their donkeys

  162. and they returned

  163. to the city.

  164. So there they are,

  165. under guard,

  166. taken back

  167. to face

  168. the master of Egypt,

  169. Joseph himself.

  170. They couldn't believe it.

  171. Verse 15,

  172. Joseph said to them,

  173. what is this

  174. you have done?

  175. Don't you know

  176. what a man like me

  177. can find,

  178. how we can find

  179. things out

  180. by divination?

  181. What can we say

  182. to you,

  183. my Lord,

  184. Judah replied?

  185. What can we say?

  186. How can we prove

  187. our innocence?

  188. You see,

  189. the brothers know

  190. that they didn't

  191. steal any cup.

  192. They know it's a set-up.

  193. They know it's been planted.

  194. They aren't trying

  195. to come up with

  196. an excuse

  197. for something

  198. they didn't do.

  199. In fact,

  200. the chief of police

  201. back in verse 10

  202. told them

  203. that those

  204. who didn't have

  205. the cup,

  206. well,

  207. they were free

  208. from blame.

  209. No,

  210. this is much

  211. bigger

  212. than that.

  213. Look at what

  214. he says

  215. in the middle

  216. of verse 16.

  217. Judah cries out,

  218. God has uncovered

  219. your servant's guilt.

  220. We are now

  221. my Lord's slaves.

  222. we ourselves

  223. and the one

  224. who was found

  225. to have the cup.

  226. You see,

  227. for the first time

  228. in their lives,

  229. they are admitting

  230. to their guilt

  231. and shame.

  232. Yes,

  233. they are innocent

  234. of stealing the cup,

  235. but he's still saying,

  236. we're guilty.

  237. But what are they

  238. guilty of?

  239. Well,

  240. it's the sin

  241. of selling their brother

  242. and telling lies

  243. to their father.

  244. All these years,

  245. that sin

  246. that has been hidden

  247. and pressed down,

  248. no longer

  249. are they hiding it.

  250. They are taking

  251. ownership of it

  252. and they admit

  253. to it.

  254. Of course,

  255. they don't know

  256. who Joseph is,

  257. but God

  258. has been making

  259. things known

  260. to them.

  261. Verse 16,

  262. God has uncovered

  263. your servant's guilt.

  264. You see,

  265. that's the effect

  266. that grace

  267. and mercy

  268. has on people's lives.

  269. It slowly

  270. softens

  271. hardened hearts.

  272. And people

  273. begin to admit

  274. as God

  275. shines the light

  276. into their heart

  277. and reveals

  278. what is going

  279. on inside.

  280. You see,

  281. without the work

  282. of God

  283. in our life,

  284. we would never

  285. admit to anything

  286. unless God

  287. uncovers

  288. our guilt.

  289. Well,

  290. we would continue

  291. to keep it

  292. covered

  293. and pushed

  294. down.

  295. None of us

  296. by ourselves

  297. are rushing

  298. to repent

  299. before God.

  300. If we were,

  301. well,

  302. our new Taoiseach

  303. Simon Harris,

  304. well,

  305. that would be

  306. the first thing

  307. on his agenda,

  308. to call the whole

  309. country to repentance

  310. because we all

  311. need to turn

  312. to God.

  313. it's not on

  314. his agenda

  315. and it's not

  316. on our country's

  317. agenda.

  318. Left to ourselves,

  319. we would always

  320. keep our sin

  321. and our guilt

  322. and our shame

  323. covered up.

  324. We don't want

  325. anyone to know.

  326. But it's only

  327. because of God's

  328. mercy and grace

  329. at work within

  330. our life

  331. that exposes

  332. the truth

  333. that we

  334. eventually

  335. come clean

  336. and we repent

  337. of our sin.

  338. Have you ever

  339. wondered why

  340. God is so

  341. kind to us?

  342. Why he

  343. continues to

  344. pour out

  345. grace and

  346. mercy on us

  347. day after

  348. day?

  349. Well,

  350. it's not so

  351. that we can

  352. go on living

  353. as we please

  354. and do whatever

  355. we like.

  356. No,

  357. it's to lead

  358. us to own

  359. our sin

  360. and to

  361. confess

  362. our sin.

  363. Listen to

  364. what scripture

  365. says.

  366. Do you

  367. show contempt

  368. for the riches

  369. of his kindness,

  370. forbearance

  371. and patience,

  372. not realizing

  373. that God's

  374. kindness is

  375. intended to

  376. lead you to

  377. repentance?

  378. Well,

  379. today

  380. is a day

  381. of God's

  382. rich

  383. kindness.

  384. The God

  385. who reveals

  386. and uncovers

  387. our sin

  388. not to

  389. squash us

  390. and squish

  391. us,

  392. but so that

  393. we can freely

  394. come before

  395. God in

  396. repentance

  397. and be

  398. covered

  399. over

  400. by his

  401. forgiveness.

  402. God is

  403. kind to

  404. us.

  405. He is

  406. so very

  407. kind.

  408. So first,

  409. mercy

  410. and grace

  411. leads to

  412. true

  413. repentance

  414. of all

  415. of our

  416. sins.

  417. There's

  418. a second

  419. change.

  420. Mercy

  421. and grace

  422. lead us

  423. to loving

  424. sacrifice

  425. for each

  426. other.

  427. Now,

  428. as we

  429. read this

  430. account,

  431. some will

  432. see

  433. Judah's

  434. repentance

  435. as a

  436. confession

  437. in a

  438. crisis.

  439. You know

  440. those kinds

  441. of

  442. confessions.

  443. We get

  444. found out.

  445. Somebody's

  446. ratted on

  447. us.

  448. Oh,

  449. we say

  450. sorry,

  451. but after

  452. a while

  453. we're back

  454. to our

  455. usual

  456. self.

  457. The old

  458. routine,

  459. the same

  460. old

  461. habits.

  462. But not

  463. for Judah.

  464. You see,

  465. as we look

  466. at his

  467. life,

  468. we see

  469. true

  470. repentance

  471. which is

  472. seen in

  473. a changed

  474. life,

  475. a transformed

  476. life,

  477. because that's

  478. what mercy

  479. and grace

  480. do.

  481. It changes

  482. us from

  483. the inside.

  484. Look at

  485. how Judah

  486. responds

  487. to the

  488. charge

  489. that Benjamin

  490. is now

  491. going to

  492. become a

  493. slave.

  494. We'll pick

  495. it up in

  496. verse 17.

  497. Joseph

  498. said,

  499. far be

  500. it from

  501. me to

  502. do such

  503. a thing.

  504. I'm not

  505. going to

  506. make all

  507. of you

  508. slaves.

  509. Only

  510. the man

  511. who was

  512. found to

  513. have the

  514. cup will

  515. become my

  516. slave.

  517. The rest

  518. of you,

  519. well,

  520. you're free

  521. to go

  522. back to

  523. your father

  524. in peace.

  525. Well,

  526. in days

  527. gone by,

  528. Judah would

  529. have accepted

  530. that deal

  531. without a

  532. second thought,

  533. wouldn't

  534. he?

  535. It was

  536. survival is

  537. the strongest

  538. as far

  539. as he

  540. was

  541. concerned.

  542. But now

  543. his

  544. sincerity

  545. shines

  546. through,

  547. that he

  548. genuinely

  549. has

  550. repented.

  551. Look at

  552. verse 18.

  553. Then Judah

  554. went up to

  555. Joseph and

  556. said,

  557. pardon your

  558. servant,

  559. my lord.

  560. Let me

  561. speak a

  562. word to

  563. my lord.

  564. Do not

  565. be angry

  566. with your

  567. servant,

  568. though you

  569. are equal

  570. to Pharaoh

  571. himself.

  572. And what

  573. follows is

  574. a retelling

  575. of how

  576. much

  577. Benjamin

  578. means to

  579. his father

  580. Jacob,

  581. and the

  582. climax of

  583. that comes

  584. to us

  585. in verse

  586. 30.

  587. Let's pick

  588. it up in

  589. verse 30.

  590. Joseph,

  591. or Judah

  592. says to

  593. Joseph,

  594. so now,

  595. if the

  596. boy is

  597. not with

  598. us when

  599. I go

  600. back to

  601. your

  602. servant,

  603. my father,

  604. and if

  605. my father

  606. whose life

  607. is closely

  608. bound up

  609. with the

  610. boy's life,

  611. sees that

  612. the boy

  613. isn't

  614. there,

  615. he will

  616. die,

  617. it will

  618. break his

  619. heart,

  620. it will

  621. kill him.

  622. Your

  623. servants

  624. will bring

  625. the grey

  626. head of

  627. our father

  628. down to

  629. the grave

  630. in sorrow.

  631. Your

  632. servant

  633. guaranteed

  634. the boy's

  635. safety to

  636. my father.

  637. I said,

  638. if I do

  639. not bring

  640. him back

  641. to you,

  642. I will

  643. bear the

  644. blame before

  645. you,

  646. my father,

  647. all my

  648. life.

  649. Well,

  650. words are

  651. cheap,

  652. aren't

  653. they?

  654. Anyone

  655. can say

  656. that.

  657. But Judah

  658. not only

  659. remembers his

  660. promise,

  661. he is now

  662. ready to

  663. fulfil it.

  664. Look at

  665. what happens,

  666. verse 33.

  667. Now then,

  668. please let

  669. your servant

  670. remain here

  671. as my

  672. Lord's

  673. slave in

  674. place of

  675. the boy

  676. and let

  677. the boy

  678. return

  679. with his

  680. brothers.

  681. What a

  682. transformation

  683. of life.

  684. Judah,

  685. who had

  686. instigated

  687. the whole

  688. selling of

  689. his brother

  690. Joseph as

  691. a slave,

  692. is now

  693. willing to

  694. become a

  695. substitute

  696. for his

  697. brother

  698. Benjamin.

  699. In this

  700. instance,

  701. as far

  702. as the

  703. cup is

  704. concerned,

  705. Judah is

  706. innocent.

  707. Joseph has

  708. declared him

  709. free to

  710. go home.

  711. And Judah

  712. could have

  713. easily have

  714. taken off

  715. home and

  716. made up

  717. some story

  718. about

  719. Benjamin

  720. finding a

  721. wife and

  722. wanting to

  723. stay in

  724. Egypt.

  725. He could

  726. have returned

  727. home and

  728. had an

  729. easy and

  730. comfortable

  731. life.

  732. But no,

  733. his life

  734. has been

  735. changed.

  736. Judah is

  737. willing to

  738. exchange

  739. himself with

  740. his brother.

  741. Judah will

  742. become a

  743. slave to

  744. Joseph so

  745. that his

  746. brother can

  747. go free.

  748. You see,

  749. mercy and

  750. grace lead

  751. to a

  752. changed

  753. life, a

  754. life of

  755. loving

  756. sacrifice

  757. towards

  758. other.

  759. isn't

  760. that what

  761. we're

  762. called to

  763. if we

  764. claim we

  765. are

  766. disciples of

  767. Jesus

  768. Christ?

  769. Listen

  770. again to

  771. what

  772. scripture

  773. says.

  774. This is

  775. how we

  776. know what

  777. love is.

  778. Jesus

  779. Christ laid

  780. down his

  781. life for

  782. us and

  783. we ought

  784. to lay

  785. down our

  786. lives for

  787. our brothers

  788. and sisters.

  789. sisters.

  790. That's

  791. talking about

  792. the church

  793. family.

  794. Whoever

  795. claims to

  796. love God

  797. yet hates

  798. a brother or

  799. sister is a

  800. liar.

  801. For whoever

  802. does not

  803. love their

  804. brother or

  805. sister cannot

  806. love God.

  807. You see,

  808. God has

  809. shown us

  810. such mercy

  811. and grace.

  812. God

  813. has given

  814. us the

  815. Lord Jesus

  816. Christ who

  817. laid down

  818. his life

  819. for us,

  820. who lovingly

  821. sacrificed

  822. his life

  823. for you

  824. and for

  825. me.

  826. Jesus

  827. became a

  828. slave.

  829. He became

  830. a servant

  831. so that we

  832. could be

  833. set free.

  834. Although

  835. innocent of

  836. any sin,

  837. he became

  838. our sin so

  839. that we

  840. could now

  841. live a

  842. new kind

  843. of life,

  844. a life

  845. that puts

  846. others

  847. before

  848. ourselves,

  849. a life

  850. that is

  851. willing to

  852. take the

  853. cost so

  854. that others

  855. can be

  856. blessed.

  857. So second,

  858. mercy and

  859. grace lead

  860. to loving

  861. sacrifice

  862. towards

  863. others.

  864. So

  865. repentance,

  866. sacrifice,

  867. and then

  868. third,

  869. mercy and

  870. grace lead

  871. to humble

  872. acceptance

  873. of God's

  874. salvation.

  875. Look at

  876. chapter 45.

  877. Verse 1,

  878. Then Joseph

  879. could no

  880. longer control

  881. himself before

  882. all his

  883. attendants,

  884. and he

  885. cried out,

  886. Get out!

  887. All of you,

  888. out!

  889. so there

  890. was no

  891. one with

  892. Joseph when

  893. he made

  894. himself known

  895. to his

  896. brothers,

  897. and he

  898. wept so

  899. loudly

  900. that the

  901. Egyptians

  902. heard him,

  903. and Pharaoh's

  904. household

  905. heard about

  906. it.

  907. An

  908. outpouring

  909. of emotion

  910. built up

  911. over 22

  912. years.

  913. finally the

  914. plug is

  915. released and

  916. it all

  917. comes out.

  918. All that

  919. Joseph had

  920. gone through,

  921. all that

  922. had happened

  923. to him,

  924. and now

  925. before his

  926. brothers and

  927. to see them

  928. changed.

  929. Verse 3,

  930. Joseph said

  931. to his

  932. brothers,

  933. I am

  934. Joseph.

  935. Is my

  936. father still

  937. living?

  938. But his

  939. brothers were

  940. not able to

  941. answer him

  942. because they

  943. were terrified

  944. at his

  945. presence.

  946. Now,

  947. why are

  948. they terrified?

  949. Well,

  950. I am sure

  951. they are

  952. terrified of

  953. what Joseph

  954. might do

  955. to them.

  956. After all

  957. that has

  958. happened,

  959. well,

  960. I think

  961. there is

  962. another

  963. reason for

  964. why they are

  965. terrified.

  966. I think

  967. their fear

  968. is different.

  969. You see,

  970. Joseph could

  971. have done

  972. whatever he

  973. wanted to

  974. his brothers.

  975. He has

  976. had umpteen

  977. opportunities.

  978. However,

  979. instead of

  980. justice,

  981. he continued

  982. to show

  983. mercy and

  984. grace.

  985. And that's

  986. what terrifies

  987. the brothers.

  988. They are

  989. faced

  990. with

  991. mercy

  992. and grace

  993. and they

  994. realise

  995. there is

  996. nothing

  997. they can

  998. do.

  999. It's as

  1000. if

  1001. with

  1002. inside

  1003. they are

  1004. crying out,

  1005. how could

  1006. we ever

  1007. repay

  1008. the kindness

  1009. you have

  1010. shown to

  1011. us?

  1012. They feel

  1013. the weight

  1014. and the

  1015. burden

  1016. of somehow

  1017. having to

  1018. pay it

  1019. all back

  1020. and they're

  1021. crushed.

  1022. They are in

  1023. complete

  1024. despair.

  1025. Look at

  1026. verse 5

  1027. verse 4

  1028. Joseph said

  1029. to the

  1030. brothers

  1031. come close

  1032. to me

  1033. and when

  1034. they had

  1035. done so

  1036. he said

  1037. I am

  1038. your brother

  1039. Joseph

  1040. the one

  1041. you sold

  1042. into Egypt

  1043. and now

  1044. don't be

  1045. distressed

  1046. and do

  1047. not be

  1048. angry with

  1049. yourselves

  1050. for selling

  1051. me here

  1052. because it

  1053. was to

  1054. save lives

  1055. that God

  1056. sent me

  1057. ahead of

  1058. you.

  1059. Do you

  1060. see what

  1061. Joseph is

  1062. saying?

  1063. You can

  1064. never pay

  1065. it back.

  1066. There's

  1067. nothing you

  1068. can do.

  1069. Don't be

  1070. distressed.

  1071. Don't be

  1072. angry with

  1073. yourself.

  1074. God has

  1075. been at

  1076. work to

  1077. save you

  1078. verse 6.

  1079. For two

  1080. years now

  1081. there's been

  1082. a famine

  1083. in the

  1084. land and

  1085. for the

  1086. next five

  1087. years there

  1088. will be

  1089. no ploughing

  1090. and reaping.

  1091. But God

  1092. sent me

  1093. ahead of

  1094. you to

  1095. preserve for

  1096. you a

  1097. remnant

  1098. on earth

  1099. and to

  1100. save your

  1101. lives by

  1102. a great

  1103. deliverance.

  1104. So then

  1105. it was not

  1106. you who

  1107. sent me

  1108. here but

  1109. God.

  1110. 22 years

  1111. of guilt

  1112. and shame

  1113. and it's

  1114. all been

  1115. met by

  1116. mercy and

  1117. grace.

  1118. This they

  1119. do not

  1120. deserve but

  1121. more than

  1122. that the

  1123. brothers are

  1124. finally beginning

  1125. to see that

  1126. God and

  1127. his sovereignty

  1128. has been in

  1129. control of

  1130. all that

  1131. has been

  1132. going on.

  1133. He's been

  1134. at work in

  1135. their sin

  1136. and through

  1137. their sin

  1138. to achieve

  1139. their salvation.

  1140. The end of

  1141. verse 7

  1142. to save

  1143. your lives

  1144. by a

  1145. great

  1146. deliverance.

  1147. grace.

  1148. You see if

  1149. we think

  1150. that God's

  1151. mercy and

  1152. grace is

  1153. something we

  1154. have to

  1155. pay off

  1156. it will

  1157. crush you.

  1158. You will

  1159. be terrified.

  1160. It will

  1161. leave you in

  1162. desperate

  1163. despair.

  1164. Not even a

  1165. lifetime can

  1166. be enough to

  1167. pay off God's

  1168. mercy and

  1169. grace.

  1170. The debt

  1171. we owe

  1172. is immeasurable.

  1173. the only way

  1174. for us to

  1175. experience God's

  1176. mercy and

  1177. grace is to

  1178. humbly accept

  1179. that it is

  1180. God's work of

  1181. salvation in

  1182. you.

  1183. It's not what

  1184. we have done

  1185. that saves us

  1186. but despite

  1187. what we have

  1188. done.

  1189. And if we

  1190. could look back

  1191. over every

  1192. aspect of our

  1193. life we could

  1194. say the same

  1195. that God has

  1196. been at work

  1197. in and

  1198. through our

  1199. sin to

  1200. achieve our

  1201. salvation.

  1202. You see

  1203. once we

  1204. grasp this

  1205. once we

  1206. see how

  1207. great and

  1208. awesome God

  1209. is to

  1210. bring about

  1211. our salvation

  1212. it changes

  1213. our relationship

  1214. with him

  1215. forever.

  1216. Look at how

  1217. the brothers

  1218. respond to

  1219. Joseph or

  1220. how Joseph

  1221. responds to

  1222. the brothers.

  1223. verse 14

  1224. it's a

  1225. beautiful picture

  1226. of how God

  1227. the Father

  1228. responds to

  1229. those who

  1230. accept his

  1231. salvation.

  1232. Verse 14

  1233. then he

  1234. threw his

  1235. arms around

  1236. his brother

  1237. Benjamin and

  1238. wept and

  1239. Benjamin

  1240. embraced him

  1241. weeping and

  1242. he kissed

  1243. all his

  1244. brothers and

  1245. wept over

  1246. them and

  1247. afterwards his

  1248. brothers talked

  1249. with him.

  1250. Do you see

  1251. the mercy

  1252. and grace

  1253. leads to

  1254. an embrace

  1255. of one

  1256. another.

  1257. And so

  1258. as we

  1259. turn to

  1260. God in

  1261. true

  1262. repentance

  1263. as we

  1264. humbly

  1265. accept his

  1266. work in

  1267. our life

  1268. he weeps

  1269. over us

  1270. he embraces

  1271. us

  1272. and one

  1273. day we

  1274. will see

  1275. Christ

  1276. he will

  1277. be revealed

  1278. to us

  1279. in all

  1280. his glory

  1281. and he

  1282. will throw

  1283. his arms

  1284. around you

  1285. restored

  1286. forgiven

  1287. and welcomed

  1288. and we

  1289. will talk

  1290. to him

  1291. for an

  1292. eternity.

  1293. What's

  1294. mercy and

  1295. grace done

  1296. in your

  1297. life?

  1298. It

  1299. changes us

  1300. it

  1301. changes us

  1302. to freely

  1303. repent of

  1304. our sin

  1305. knowing that

  1306. he will

  1307. cover it

  1308. all.

  1309. It leads

  1310. to a change

  1311. of life

  1312. where we

  1313. love others

  1314. sacrificially

  1315. and it

  1316. leads us

  1317. to humble

  1318. acceptance

  1319. of God's

  1320. amazing gift

  1321. of salvation.

  1322. Let's pray

  1323. together.
