  1. Psalm 145. If you have the church Bible, it's 631, page 631.

  2. So this is the psalm that Bryce is going to be preaching to us in just a second.

  3. So I'll read the psalm for us, and then I'll pray for you, Bryce, and you can take over.

  4. Psalm 145.

  5. It's a psalm of praise of David.

  6. I will exalt you, my God the King. I will praise your name forever and ever.

  7. Every day I will praise you and extol your name forever and ever.

  8. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise. His greatness no one can fathom.

  9. One generation commends your works to another. They tell of your mighty acts.

  10. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

  11. They tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.

  12. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

  13. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and rich in love.

  14. The Lord is good to all. He has compassion on all he has made.

  15. All your works praise you, Lord. Your faithful people extol you.

  16. They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,

  17. so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

  18. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.

  19. The Lord is trustworthy in all his promises and faithful in all he does.

  20. The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

  21. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.

  22. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

  23. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

  24. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

  25. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him.

  26. He hears their cry and saves them.

  27. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

  28. My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.

  29. Let every creature praise his holy name forever and ever.

  30. Father God, we thank you for your servant Bryce.

  31. We pray for him, that you would fill him with your Holy Spirit,

  32. and that the words that come out of his mouth are words ordained by you to teach us.

  33. We pray for the rest of us sitting under his preaching,

  34. that we would listen well, and that we would take on board

  35. what you're trying to say to us this morning.

  36. Thank you for your word.

  37. Please speak to us in Jesus' name.

  38. Amen.

  39. Thanks, Bryce.

  40. Thanks, Bryce.

  41. Thank you, Connor.

  42. And thank you for having me here this morning.

  43. What a privilege to come and worship with you.

  44. And thank you for the choices of those songs and for the musicians.

  45. Those fit precisely with what we're going to talk about in Psalm 145.

  46. So you might keep your Bibles open there.

  47. Psalm 145 is the text we'll be looking at this morning.

  48. Just to say that it's so good to be with you.

  49. Karigaline, we know, is our older sister.

  50. That's really the reality.

  51. I bring love and greetings from Douglas Baptist,

  52. and we're so thankful for the way that you have faithfully pressed on.

  53. You have a reputation, a good one.

  54. I think of the church in Thessalonica, where Paul says,

  55. we know about your work of faith.

  56. We know about your labor that's driven by your love.

  57. We have heard about your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  58. And we can say these words about Karigaline Baptist.

  59. We're very thankful for you.

  60. Keep pressing on.

  61. So let me pray and ask God for help as we look at Psalm 145.

  62. Father, we thank you as well that you say to the Thessalonians

  63. that the gospel came not only with words,

  64. but also in power and in the Holy Spirit

  65. and with deep conviction.

  66. That's what we're asking for today.

  67. Let your words come as words,

  68. but in power,

  69. in the Spirit,

  70. with real conviction.

  71. To me,

  72. to all of us,

  73. we plead with you.

  74. Amen.

  75. This summer,

  76. I was traveling in North America,

  77. doing an awful lot of driving.

  78. And my son Jonathan came for a major leg of the driving bit

  79. that left behind the girls.

  80. And Jonathan and I went on this kind of tour

  81. of northeastern Canada and the United States.

  82. And we were driving from Washington, D.C. area

  83. up to the Toronto airport.

  84. And as we were coming up,

  85. Jonathan says,

  86. Dad, can we stop at Niagara Falls?

  87. Like, I know you took me there when I was a smallie,

  88. but now Jonathan's nearly 16.

  89. And he was like,

  90. I'd like to see it kind of where I could appreciate it.

  91. So we were driving right through Niagara,

  92. right past.

  93. And so I said,

  94. sure,

  95. we'll stop.

  96. So we stopped.

  97. And while we were there,

  98. it's just this incredible scene

  99. of so much water

  100. rushing over the falls.

  101. While we were there,

  102. we saw,

  103. Jonathan said,

  104. what's all those people down there?

  105. And they were all wearing these rain ponchos

  106. and they were going up these stairs

  107. next to the Horseshoe Falls.

  108. And I found out afterwards

  109. that what it is,

  110. it's a tour called

  111. Journey Behind the Falls.

  112. And you can actually go right behind the waterfall

  113. and you can actually look out

  114. some kind of holes in the caves

  115. and see the water gushing down

  116. and there's these rails.

  117. Can you imagine if you were on that tour?

  118. And if you were,

  119. while you were on the tour,

  120. you start to lean over the rail

  121. and do this.

  122. And the tour guide says,

  123. you hold it,

  124. what are you doing?

  125. That's very dangerous.

  126. You can't be leaning over rails.

  127. What are you trying to do?

  128. And you're like,

  129. well,

  130. I'm trying to measure

  131. how much water

  132. is coming over the Niagara Falls.

  133. And of course,

  134. your guide would say,

  135. that's ridiculous.

  136. A 300 mil cup

  137. and you're trying to measure

  138. the amount of water

  139. over the falls.

  140. Well,

  141. that is what

  142. Psalm 145

  143. is like

  144. for David.

  145. He's completely

  146. overwhelmed.

  147. By the way,

  148. if the flow is quite heavy

  149. over the,

  150. depends on

  151. the conditions,

  152. but Niagara Falls

  153. in one second,

  154. apparently,

  155. three million

  156. liters

  157. of water

  158. in one second.

  159. Can you imagine

  160. trying to fit

  161. three million

  162. apple juice boxes

  163. in your cupboard

  164. or inside

  165. in your fridge?

  166. Can you picture that?

  167. That comes to

  168. roughly

  169. 168 million

  170. liters

  171. per minute,

  172. 240 trillion

  173. liters

  174. per day.

  175. You cannot

  176. measure that

  177. with 300 mil cups.

  178. And David

  179. is trying to measure

  180. the greatness

  181. of God

  182. and he's got

  183. the same quandary.

  184. That's what's going on

  185. in Psalm 145.

  186. He's overwhelmed.

  187. Think of that

  188. kind of water

  189. coming down

  190. inside in your shower.

  191. Your drain

  192. would be

  193. immediately

  194. overwhelmed.

  195. David

  196. is

  197. wowed

  198. by

  199. God.

  200. And that's

  201. what's coming

  202. out in this

  203. Psalm.

  204. Verse

  205. 21 in this

  206. Psalm

  207. is absolutely

  208. key.

  209. It's the last

  210. verse of the

  211. Psalm and it

  212. says these

  213. words.

  214. My mouth

  215. will

  216. speak

  217. in praise

  218. of the Lord.

  219. Let every

  220. creature

  221. praise his

  222. holy name

  223. forever

  224. and ever.

  225. Why that's

  226. special is that

  227. Psalm 145

  228. is the last

  229. Psalm in

  230. book 5 of

  231. the five books

  232. of the Psalms.

  233. And if we were

  234. reading it in

  235. Hebrew we would

  236. see that this

  237. is a special

  238. kind of separate

  239. benediction

  240. that comes at

  241. the end of the

  242. five books

  243. of the Psalms.

  244. And David

  245. says my

  246. mouth

  247. will

  248. speak.

  249. Some of you

  250. may have heard

  251. there's a quote

  252. that flies

  253. around out

  254. there that

  255. it says

  256. preach the

  257. gospel at

  258. all times

  259. use words

  260. if necessary.

  261. And it kind

  262. of sounds

  263. quite noble

  264. that you

  265. would preach

  266. the gospel

  267. with your

  268. life without

  269. using words.

  270. And most

  271. certainly our

  272. lives should

  273. preach the

  274. gospel.

  275. But can we

  276. say biblically

  277. that's faulty.

  278. We should say

  279. preach the

  280. gospel at

  281. all times

  282. words will be

  283. absolutely

  284. necessary if

  285. you're to

  286. preach the

  287. gospel.

  288. And David

  289. wants to

  290. use words.

  291. My mouth

  292. will

  293. speak.

  294. Throughout

  295. the Psalms

  296. we have

  297. those many

  298. many different

  299. examples of

  300. how the

  301. mouth must

  302. be used.

  303. With singing

  304. lips my

  305. mouth will

  306. praise you.

  307. Psalm 62.

  308. We could go

  309. on and on

  310. through the

  311. Psalms.

  312. My mouth

  313. must be

  314. involved

  315. in praise.

  316. David

  317. must open

  318. his mouth

  319. and literally

  320. speak.

  321. of the

  322. magnificence

  323. of God.

  324. So what

  325. about us?

  326. Are we

  327. wowed and

  328. overwhelmed

  329. enough by

  330. God that

  331. we've got

  332. to open

  333. our mouths

  334. and speak?

  335. When something

  336. has captured

  337. your attention

  338. and fascinated

  339. you, you

  340. must speak

  341. about it,

  342. right?

  343. This is

  344. David in

  345. Psalm 145.

  346. Now the

  347. Psalms are

  348. the songbook

  349. that Jesus

  350. sang from.

  351. There's this

  352. important

  353. perspective that

  354. emerges.

  355. In the

  356. Psalms,

  357. the central

  358. figure in

  359. the Psalms

  360. on first

  361. reading seems

  362. to be

  363. David.

  364. God has

  365. made a

  366. covenant

  367. with David

  368. and God

  369. has promised

  370. that there

  371. will be

  372. a son of

  373. David who

  374. will rule

  375. on his

  376. throne

  377. forever and

  378. ever.

  379. But as

  380. you start

  381. to work

  382. your way

  383. through the

  384. books of

  385. the Psalms,

  386. you start

  387. to realize

  388. David's not

  389. the central

  390. figure.

  391. The central

  392. figure is

  393. the promised

  394. son of

  395. David,

  396. the king

  397. who will

  398. reign forever

  399. and ever,

  400. king of

  401. all kings,

  402. our Lord

  403. Jesus Christ.

  404. Jesus says

  405. in Luke 24,

  406. the Psalms

  407. must be

  408. fulfilled that

  409. were written

  410. about me.

  411. When we

  412. read the

  413. Psalms,

  414. we need

  415. to see

  416. Jesus.

  417. Now,

  418. I haven't

  419. gone and

  420. counted them

  421. up myself,

  422. but roughly

  423. only around

  424. 10-ish

  425. percent of

  426. the Psalms

  427. are completely

  428. celebration

  429. from one

  430. end of

  431. the Psalm

  432. to the

  433. other.

  434. Psalm 145

  435. is one

  436. of those

  437. Psalms.

  438. That tells

  439. us something

  440. about our

  441. songs,

  442. right?

  443. Many of

  444. the Psalms,

  445. how it is,

  446. is that they

  447. work their

  448. way to

  449. praise through

  450. the realities,

  451. the difficulties,

  452. the pains,

  453. the blessings

  454. of life.

  455. I'm working

  456. my way to

  457. praise through

  458. the real

  459. life things.

  460. but then

  461. we have

  462. some of

  463. these

  464. Psalms,

  465. like Psalm

  466. 145,

  467. that are

  468. complete

  469. praise all

  470. the way

  471. through.

  472. David,

  473. it's almost

  474. like when he

  475. gets to this

  476. Psalm,

  477. he's like,

  478. I'm so

  479. overwhelmed by

  480. my God,

  481. I'm going

  482. to actually

  483. do a search

  484. on thesaurus.com

  485. and find as

  486. many words

  487. as I can

  488. to describe

  489. the greatness

  490. of God.

  491. And so,

  492. he says,

  493. I will

  494. exalt,

  495. I will

  496. praise,

  497. I will

  498. extol,

  499. I will

  500. commend,

  501. I will

  502. tell,

  503. I will

  504. speak,

  505. I will

  506. proclaim,

  507. I will

  508. meditate,

  509. I will

  510. celebrate,

  511. I will

  512. sing.

  513. He's

  514. wowed.

  515. There's

  516. just enough,

  517. there's not

  518. enough words,

  519. but what words

  520. I can come

  521. up with,

  522. I am going

  523. to let

  524. my mouth

  525. speak them

  526. about the

  527. greatness

  528. of God.

  529. Many

  530. things he

  531. has to

  532. say about

  533. God in

  534. this Psalm.

  535. My God

  536. is king,

  537. he is

  538. great,

  539. he is

  540. mighty,

  541. he is

  542. majestic,

  543. he is

  544. splendorous,

  545. he does

  546. great works

  547. and marvelous

  548. deeds,

  549. he is

  550. abundant

  551. in goodness,

  552. he is

  553. righteous,

  554. gracious,

  555. compassionate,

  556. forgiving,

  557. slow to

  558. anger,

  559. abounding in

  560. love,

  561. he rules

  562. as king,

  563. he is

  564. everlasting,

  565. always faithful,

  566. always trustworthy,

  567. caring for the

  568. lowly,

  569. providing all that

  570. I have,

  571. providing for all

  572. of his creation,

  573. he's near,

  574. he hears,

  575. he satisfies,

  576. he rescues,

  577. he saves

  578. sinners,

  579. he protects

  580. us,

  581. and he

  582. justly

  583. destroys

  584. the wicked.

  585. And my

  586. mouth

  587. must speak

  588. in praise

  589. of the

  590. Lord,

  591. praise his

  592. holy name

  593. forever

  594. and ever.

  595. In a

  596. sense,

  597. you know

  598. what a

  599. cornucopia

  600. is?

  601. You know

  602. those little

  603. horns that

  604. they put

  605. produce in

  606. and they

  607. overflow

  608. the horn,

  609. the little

  610. basket horns

  611. that they put

  612. on your

  613. table?

  614. And they

  615. take little

  616. pictures of

  617. them?

  618. Is this

  619. idea of

  620. an overflowing

  621. abundance

  622. that comes.

  623. Often they're

  624. used at

  625. times when

  626. we would

  627. celebrate

  628. a season

  629. of harvest

  630. Thanksgiving.

  631. You'd find

  632. a cornucopia.

  633. This

  634. psalm is

  635. a cornucopia

  636. of praise,

  637. overflowing

  638. with God's

  639. majesty.

  640. Now

  641. there's a few

  642. little features

  643. about this

  644. psalm that

  645. we should

  646. note.

  647. First of

  648. all,

  649. as I've

  650. mentioned,

  651. it's the

  652. last psalm

  653. of book

  654. five in

  655. the psalms.

  656. So there's

  657. five books

  658. in the psalms

  659. and book

  660. five is

  661. really the

  662. response of

  663. restored sinners,

  664. those who've

  665. been brought

  666. back from

  667. exile and

  668. have been

  669. forgiven and

  670. redeemed by

  671. love.

  672. And during

  673. the exile

  674. psalms,

  675. which come

  676. in book

  677. four,

  678. David's

  679. voice goes

  680. mostly silent.

  681. But then

  682. David's voice

  683. starts to

  684. come back

  685. in,

  686. in book

  687. five,

  688. in a

  689. big way.

  690. And finishes

  691. off this

  692. special psalm

  693. with this

  694. special

  695. benediction.

  696. So this

  697. is the

  698. final psalm

  699. that David

  700. is noted

  701. as writing

  702. in the

  703. psalm book.

  704. So that

  705. becomes very

  706. special psalm

  707. to the

  708. Hebrew people.

  709. They often

  710. would practice

  711. quoting this

  712. every day,

  713. this one

  714. song,

  715. because it's

  716. very special

  717. to them.

  718. Also,

  719. just to note,

  720. it was almost

  721. certainly this

  722. psalm was

  723. written by

  724. David towards

  725. the end

  726. of his

  727. life.

  728. It appears

  729. that he

  730. was an

  731. aging or

  732. aged man

  733. as he

  734. writes the

  735. words of

  736. this psalm.

  737. Then,

  738. very

  739. interestingly,

  740. which,

  741. unfortunately,

  742. English,

  743. we miss

  744. completely about

  745. this psalm,

  746. but if we

  747. were Hebrews

  748. who could

  749. read the

  750. Hebrew language,

  751. we would

  752. see something

  753. going on

  754. here.

  755. The whole

  756. psalm,

  757. down to

  758. verse 20,

  759. before you

  760. get this

  761. final benediction,

  762. is an

  763. alphabetical

  764. acrostic,

  765. and it

  766. goes right

  767. through the

  768. Hebrew

  769. alphabet,

  770. 22 letters

  771. of the

  772. Hebrew

  773. alphabet.

  774. So it's

  775. a bit like

  776. when we

  777. sometimes do,

  778. have you

  779. ever done

  780. an acrostic

  781. Mother's Day

  782. card?

  783. Any of you

  784. mothers ever

  785. got one of

  786. those kind

  787. of acrostic

  788. cards where

  789. you say,

  790. mother,

  791. M-O-T-H-E-R.

  792. And so we

  793. would write

  794. something like,

  795. M,

  796. marvelously,

  797. O,

  798. overflowing

  799. with love,

  800. and T,

  801. touching the

  802. H,

  803. heart of,

  804. E,

  805. everyone she

  806. R,

  807. reaches.

  808. You ever

  809. done one of

  810. those cards?

  811. Something like

  812. that?

  813. Received one

  814. of those cards?

  815. Maybe one of

  816. your friends

  817. made fun of

  818. you with

  819. those acrostic

  820. cards?

  821. That's sort

  822. of what's

  823. going on

  824. here.

  825. This is the

  826. complete picture

  827. of the greatness

  828. of God from

  829. A to Z,

  830. the full

  831. alphabet.

  832. More

  833. precisely,

  834. from Aleph

  835. to Tav.

  836. Or,

  837. as we'd say

  838. in Greek,

  839. from Alpha

  840. to Omega.

  841. By the way,

  842. who's the Alpha

  843. and Omega?

  844. Our Lord Jesus

  845. Christ.

  846. He's the

  847. completeness

  848. of this

  849. Psalm and

  850. this

  851. praise.

  852. So what's

  853. actually in

  854. the Psalm?

  855. Well,

  856. when you look

  857. through the

  858. Psalm,

  859. if you've

  860. read through

  861. the Psalms,

  862. you'll see

  863. actually in

  864. Psalm 145,

  865. as far as

  866. I can see,

  867. there's

  868. absolutely no

  869. new content.

  870. It's all

  871. things that

  872. have been

  873. said before

  874. throughout the

  875. Psalm book,

  876. but kind of

  877. bunched together.

  878. What's new

  879. about it is

  880. it is

  881. completely

  882. start to

  883. finish

  884. praise

  885. at the

  886. end of

  887. Book 5.

  888. David,

  889. it's almost

  890. like he's

  891. reflecting

  892. towards the

  893. end of his

  894. life,

  895. and he's

  896. saying,

  897. listen,

  898. I've written

  899. all these

  900. Psalms before.

  901. These

  902. Psalms have

  903. been about

  904. through my

  905. troubles,

  906. this is

  907. who my

  908. God is.

  909. Through my

  910. pains and

  911. losses,

  912. this is

  913. who my

  914. God is.

  915. Through my

  916. doubts and

  917. darkness,

  918. this is

  919. who my

  920. God is.

  921. Through the

  922. betrayals,

  923. through the

  924. blessings and

  925. comforts,

  926. through the

  927. history of

  928. my people,

  929. through my

  930. sin and

  931. his

  932. forgiveness

  933. of my

  934. sin,

  935. this is

  936. who my

  937. God is.

  938. And now

  939. he's come

  940. to the

  941. end and

  942. said,

  943. I'm just

  944. overwhelmed.

  945. I've got to

  946. come out

  947. with complete

  948. A to Z

  949. praise in

  950. Psalm 145.

  951. There are

  952. many themes

  953. of praise

  954. in this

  955. Psalm,

  956. far too

  957. many for

  958. me to

  959. really go

  960. over,

  961. but I'd

  962. like to

  963. just draw

  964. out four

  965. which I

  966. think are

  967. prominent

  968. and what

  969. we could

  970. benefit from

  971. today.

  972. Four themes

  973. of praise

  974. I see

  975. here.

  976. First,

  977. David is

  978. saying,

  979. I must

  980. speak of

  981. my God's

  982. greatness

  983. in the

  984. early verses.

  985. Then David

  986. says,

  987. I must

  988. speak of

  989. my God's

  990. grace.

  991. Then David

  992. says,

  993. I must

  994. speak of

  995. my God's

  996. rule,

  997. his kingdom.

  998. And finally,

  999. I must

  1000. speak of

  1001. my God's

  1002. righteousness.

  1003. righteousness.

  1004. Four themes

  1005. that are

  1006. quite prominent

  1007. in this.

  1008. First,

  1009. I must

  1010. speak of

  1011. God's

  1012. greatness.

  1013. If you

  1014. look with

  1015. me at

  1016. verses 3

  1017. to 6

  1018. here,

  1019. Psalm 145

    Psalms 145:3

  1020. verse 3,

  1021. great is

  1022. the Lord

  1023. and most

  1024. worthy of

  1025. praise.

  1026. His

  1027. greatness

  1028. no one

  1029. can fathom.

  1030. One

  1031. generation

  1032. commends

  1033. your works

  1034. to another.

  1035. They tell

  1036. of your

  1037. mighty acts.

  1038. They speak

  1039. of the

  1040. glorious

  1041. splendor

  1042. of your

  1043. majesty.

  1044. And I

  1045. will

  1046. meditate

  1047. on your

  1048. wonderful

  1049. works.

  1050. They tell

  1051. of the

  1052. power of

  1053. your

  1054. awesome

  1055. works.

  1056. I

  1057. will

  1058. proclaim

  1059. your

  1060. great

  1061. deeds.

  1062. His

  1063. greatness

  1064. no one

  1065. can

  1066. fathom.

  1067. That's a

  1068. beautiful

  1069. picture.

  1070. You know

  1071. what a

  1072. fathom

  1073. is?

  1074. We

  1075. don't

  1076. use

  1077. too

  1078. often

  1079. anymore

  1080. the

  1081. idea

  1082. of a

  1083. sounding

  1084. line.

  1085. But

  1086. during

  1087. days

  1088. past,

  1089. when

  1090. ships

  1091. used

  1092. to

  1093. sail,

  1094. they

  1095. needed

  1096. to know

  1097. how much

  1098. water

  1099. was under

  1100. the

  1101. ship

  1102. so they

  1103. didn't

  1104. run

  1105. aground.

  1106. So they

  1107. had these

  1108. sounding

  1109. lines,

  1110. and they

  1111. would either

  1112. tie knots

  1113. every two

  1114. yards or

  1115. six feet,

  1116. and that

  1117. was a

  1118. fathom.

  1119. And they

  1120. put a

  1121. weight on

  1122. the end

  1123. of the

  1124. sounding

  1125. line,

  1126. they'd

  1127. throw it

  1128. in,

  1129. and they'd

  1130. measure it

  1131. up,

  1132. and they'd

  1133. call out

  1134. the

  1135. fathoms,

  1136. how much

  1137. water was

  1138. under the

  1139. ship so

  1140. that it

  1141. wouldn't

  1142. run

  1143. aground.

  1144. But the

  1145. realities are,

  1146. if you

  1147. try throwing

  1148. out a

  1149. fathom

  1150. line over

  1151. the

  1152. Mariana

  1153. Trench,

  1154. there's no

  1155. fathom line

  1156. that is

  1157. going to

  1158. measure the

  1159. depths of

  1160. the sea

  1161. there.

  1162. And David

  1163. is saying,

  1164. that's what the

  1165. greatness of

  1166. my God is

  1167. like.

  1168. It is

  1169. unmeasurable.

  1170. You cannot

  1171. measure how

  1172. great he is.

  1173. It is

  1174. unsearchable.

  1175. No one can

  1176. fathom his

  1177. greatness.

  1178. I must speak

  1179. of my God's

  1180. greatness.

  1181. David also

  1182. says,

  1183. I must

  1184. speak of

  1185. my God's

  1186. grace.

  1187. Look with

  1188. me,

  1189. please,

  1190. at verses

  1191. 7 to

  1192. 10.

  1193. He says,

  1194. they celebrate

  1195. your abundant

  1196. goodness and

  1197. joyfully sing

  1198. of your

  1199. righteousness.

  1200. The Lord

  1201. is gracious

  1202. and compassionate,

  1203. slow to

  1204. anger,

  1205. and rich in

  1206. love.

  1207. The Lord

  1208. is good to

  1209. all.

  1210. He has

  1211. compassion on

  1212. all he has

  1213. made.

  1214. All your

  1215. works praise

  1216. you,

  1217. Lord,

  1218. your faithful

  1219. people.

  1220. extol you.

  1221. I must

  1222. speak of

  1223. my God's

  1224. grace.

  1225. Grace

  1226. is what

  1227. is unearned.

  1228. Grace

  1229. is what

  1230. is undeserved.

  1231. Free.

  1232. A gift.

  1233. If you've

  1234. earned it,

  1235. it's not

  1236. grace.

  1237. If you

  1238. deserve it,

  1239. it's not

  1240. grace.

  1241. If you

  1242. worked for

  1243. it,

  1244. it's not

  1245. grace.

  1246. freely

  1247. given.

  1248. The Lord

  1249. is gracious.

  1250. He's

  1251. compassionate.

  1252. He's

  1253. merciful.

  1254. This is

  1255. how God

  1256. saves us.

  1257. God

  1258. gives us

  1259. everything we

  1260. could never

  1261. get for

  1262. ourselves.

  1263. He puts

  1264. us right

  1265. with him.

  1266. When we

  1267. have nothing

  1268. to give,

  1269. when we

  1270. only deserve

  1271. judgment,

  1272. he gives

  1273. grace.

  1274. This is

  1275. how he

  1276. saves us.

  1277. And so

  1278. mercy is

  1279. quite simply

  1280. not getting

  1281. what you

  1282. deserve.

  1283. And that's

  1284. a wonderful

  1285. thing to

  1286. get mercy,

  1287. isn't it?

  1288. But grace

  1289. is God

  1290. giving us

  1291. everything we

  1292. could never

  1293. have on our

  1294. own merits.

  1295. He gives

  1296. them to us

  1297. freely.

  1298. So for

  1299. instance,

  1300. if we were

  1301. to say

  1302. that,

  1303. what if

  1304. there was

  1305. a troubled

  1306. young man

  1307. in the

  1308. area?

  1309. What if

  1310. he was

  1311. an orphan

  1312. and he

  1313. happened to

  1314. be someone

  1315. who was

  1316. burning with

  1317. a lot of

  1318. hatred and

  1319. he was an

  1320. arsonist?

  1321. And he

  1322. found a

  1323. particular

  1324. wealthy man

  1325. who had

  1326. lots of

  1327. properties in

  1328. the area

  1329. and what

  1330. he did is

  1331. he set out

  1332. systematically

  1333. to find out

  1334. which properties

  1335. he owned

  1336. and burn

  1337. them.

  1338. And the

  1339. day comes

  1340. where the

  1341. young man

  1342. is caught

  1343. red-handed

  1344. in the

  1345. act and

  1346. he's brought

  1347. before the

  1348. wealthy man

  1349. and the

  1350. wealthy man

  1351. says,

  1352. I will

  1353. not press

  1354. charges.

  1355. Let him

  1356. go.

  1357. Let him

  1358. go free.

  1359. That would

  1360. be mercy,

  1361. wouldn't it?

  1362. And that

  1363. would be

  1364. incredible

  1365. mercy on

  1366. behalf of

  1367. that wealthy

  1368. man.

  1369. But can

  1370. you imagine

  1371. if the

  1372. wealthy man

  1373. were to

  1374. say,

  1375. but you

  1376. know what?

  1377. I will

  1378. do more

  1379. than show

  1380. mercy.

  1381. I will

  1382. offer to

  1383. take this

  1384. young orphan

  1385. as my

  1386. own son.

  1387. And I

  1388. will make

  1389. him heir

  1390. to all

  1391. that is

  1392. mine.

  1393. This would

  1394. be grace.

  1395. That young

  1396. man deserves

  1397. judgment.

  1398. But he's

  1399. receiving mercy

  1400. and then

  1401. grace.

  1402. God

  1403. is a

  1404. God

  1405. who is

  1406. gracious

  1407. and

  1408. compassionate

  1409. to us.

  1410. And David

  1411. is wowed

  1412. by how

  1413. God is

  1414. slow to

  1415. anger,

  1416. rich

  1417. in love.

  1418. This is

  1419. who my

  1420. God is.

  1421. My lips

  1422. will speak

  1423. of him,

  1424. of his

  1425. praise.

  1426. I must

  1427. speak of

  1428. my

  1429. God's

  1430. rule or

  1431. his

  1432. kingdom in

  1433. verses 11

  1434. to 13.

  1435. If you look

  1436. with me

  1437. there at

  1438. verse 11,

  1439. they tell

  1440. of the

  1441. glory of

  1442. your

  1443. kingdom

  1444. and speak

  1445. of your

  1446. might so

  1447. that all

  1448. people may

  1449. know your

  1450. mighty acts

  1451. and the

  1452. glorious

  1453. splendor

  1454. of your

  1455. kingdom.

  1456. Your

  1457. kingdom is

  1458. an everlasting

  1459. kingdom and

  1460. your dominion

  1461. endures

  1462. throughout all

  1463. generations.

  1464. Now,

  1465. think of

  1466. this,

  1467. who's

  1468. writing?

  1469. David.

  1470. Of all

  1471. the kings

  1472. of Judah,

  1473. all the kings

  1474. of Israel,

  1475. where does

  1476. David write?

  1477. The greatest.

  1478. David,

  1479. it would

  1480. seem to

  1481. us,

  1482. could easily

  1483. write about

  1484. the greatness

  1485. of his

  1486. kingdom.

  1487. He has

  1488. nothing to

  1489. say about

  1490. it here.

  1491. He speaks

  1492. of the

  1493. greatness of

  1494. God's

  1495. kingdom,

  1496. which is

  1497. ultimately

  1498. the greatness

  1499. of the

  1500. promised

  1501. son of

  1502. David,

  1503. Jesus

  1504. Christ,

  1505. king of

  1506. all kings.

  1507. And he

  1508. sees here,

  1509. he's holding

  1510. on to

  1511. these promises

  1512. of a

  1513. kingdom that

  1514. is forever

  1515. and ever.

  1516. It's

  1517. lasting.

  1518. I must

  1519. speak of

  1520. God's

  1521. rule.

  1522. But can

  1523. I ask

  1524. you,

  1525. in all

  1526. seriousness,

  1527. the psalm

  1528. starts with,

  1529. in verse

  1530. one,

  1531. I will

  1532. exalt

  1533. you,

  1534. my

  1535. God,

  1536. the

  1537. king.

  1538. God's

  1539. love.

  1540. I think

  1541. it would

  1542. be good

  1543. for each

  1544. of us

  1545. to give

  1546. an

  1547. assessment,

  1548. is

  1549. Jesus

  1550. really

  1551. my

  1552. God?

  1553. Genuinely,

  1554. is he

  1555. the king

  1556. in my

  1557. life?

  1558. Is this

  1559. Jesus?

  1560. Is he

  1561. your king?

  1562. Does he

  1563. have authority

  1564. over you

  1565. right now?

  1566. I must

  1567. speak of

  1568. my God's

  1569. rule.

  1570. I must

  1571. also speak

  1572. of my

  1573. God's

  1574. righteousness

  1575. in verses

  1576. 14 to

  1577. 20.

  1578. Just look

  1579. with me

  1580. particularly

  1581. verse 17

  1582. please.

  1583. The Lord

  1584. is righteous

  1585. in all

  1586. his ways

  1587. and faithful

  1588. in all

  1589. he does.

  1590. The Lord

  1591. is near

  1592. to all

  1593. who call

  1594. on him

  1595. in truth.

  1596. He fulfills

  1597. the desires

  1598. of those

  1599. who fear

  1600. him.

  1601. He hears

  1602. their cry

  1603. and saves

  1604. them.

  1605. The Lord

  1606. watches

  1607. over all

  1608. who love

  1609. him but

  1610. all the

  1611. wicked he

  1612. will destroy.

  1613. The term

  1614. righteous means

  1615. to put

  1616. things right.

  1617. To put

  1618. things

  1619. right.

  1620. Now when we

  1621. understand what

  1622. that means

  1623. that's a really

  1624. reassuring truth

  1625. about God

  1626. isn't it?

  1627. We see a

  1628. world where

  1629. things are not

  1630. put right

  1631. yet.

  1632. It's very

  1633. reassuring

  1634. that God

  1635. will put

  1636. things

  1637. right.

  1638. He's

  1639. righteous.

  1640. However,

  1641. once we

  1642. see that

  1643. that's

  1644. reassuring

  1645. we have

  1646. to realize

  1647. God being

  1648. righteous

  1649. is terrifying

  1650. because if

  1651. he's a

  1652. God who

  1653. puts all

  1654. things right,

  1655. if all

  1656. wrongs must

  1657. be put

  1658. right,

  1659. then my

  1660. wrongs

  1661. must be

  1662. put right

  1663. by a

  1664. righteous

  1665. God.

  1666. It says,

  1667. last statement,

  1668. the wicked

  1669. he will

  1670. destroy

  1671. and the

  1672. next thing

  1673. he does

  1674. is go

  1675. into

  1676. benediction.

  1677. My

  1678. mouth will

  1679. praise him.

  1680. Praise his

  1681. holy name

  1682. forever and

  1683. ever.

  1684. Here's what

  1685. happens,

  1686. is in

  1687. salvation,

  1688. God saves

  1689. people through

  1690. putting their

  1691. sins right.

  1692. God saves

  1693. me by

  1694. putting my

  1695. sin right.

  1696. He

  1697. reconciles

  1698. us through

  1699. the cross

  1700. where my

  1701. sin is

  1702. completely

  1703. and thoroughly

  1704. judged with

  1705. right judgment.

  1706. Jesus took

  1707. the judgment

  1708. I should

  1709. have got

  1710. righteousness.

  1711. Our

  1712. salvation,

  1713. if you're a

  1714. brother or

  1715. sister who's

  1716. trusting in

  1717. Jesus,

  1718. who knows

  1719. his salvation,

  1720. we need to

  1721. be clear on

  1722. this,

  1723. our salvation

  1724. only comes

  1725. to us

  1726. through

  1727. judgment.

  1728. Jesus

  1729. took that

  1730. judgment so

  1731. we could

  1732. receive mercy,

  1733. forgiveness,

  1734. and grace.

  1735. Salvation

  1736. through judgment,

  1737. God puts

  1738. all things

  1739. right.

  1740. And this

  1741. gracious

  1742. salvation only

  1743. comes to

  1744. those who

  1745. repent and

  1746. put their

  1747. trust in

  1748. God's

  1749. King,

  1750. the one who

  1751. laid down

  1752. his life for

  1753. them at

  1754. the cross.

  1755. And he

  1756. calls on

  1757. everyone in

  1758. the world,

  1759. turn to

  1760. me,

  1761. me,

  1762. and be

  1763. saved,

  1764. all you

  1765. ends of

  1766. the earth,

  1767. for I

  1768. am God,

  1769. there is

  1770. no other.

  1771. Have you

  1772. turned to

  1773. him?

  1774. If you

  1775. haven't,

  1776. will you

  1777. turn to

  1778. him and

  1779. be saved?

  1780. Because he

  1781. delights to

  1782. save.

  1783. This is what

  1784. he loves to

  1785. do.

  1786. This is what

  1787. Jesus came

  1788. into the

  1789. world.

  1790. He came

  1791. to be our

  1792. king,

  1793. but he

  1794. came to

  1795. be our

  1796. saving

  1797. king.

  1798. I will

  1799. open my

  1800. mouth and

  1801. speak of

  1802. your

  1803. righteousness.

  1804. Then we

  1805. have this

  1806. again,

  1807. final

  1808. benediction.

  1809. My mouth

  1810. will speak,

  1811. verse 21.

  1812. My mouth

  1813. will speak

  1814. in praise of

  1815. the Lord.

  1816. Let every

  1817. creature praise

  1818. his holy

  1819. name forever

  1820. and ever.

  1821. David is

  1822. wowed by

  1823. the greatness

  1824. of God.

  1825. David is

  1826. overwhelmed.

  1827. So he's

  1828. put it into

  1829. words.

  1830. He's put it

  1831. into song.

  1832. He must

  1833. speak.

  1834. He has to

  1835. sing.

  1836. But can

  1837. you imagine

  1838. if this is

  1839. how wowed

  1840. David was

  1841. 3,000 years

  1842. ago, how

  1843. wowed David

  1844. would be to

  1845. know what we

  1846. now know?

  1847. that a

  1848. child would

  1849. be born?

  1850. That that

  1851. child would

  1852. be 100%

  1853. human and

  1854. 100%

  1855. God?

  1856. That that

  1857. child would

  1858. live a

  1859. perfect life

  1860. as a

  1861. substitute in

  1862. the place of

  1863. those who

  1864. couldn't do

  1865. it?

  1866. That that

  1867. child would

  1868. take the

  1869. judgment of

  1870. God on

  1871. himself at

  1872. the cross

  1873. in love,

  1874. bearing the

  1875. sins of

  1876. others when

  1877. he deserved

  1878. no judgment?

  1879. so that

  1880. he could

  1881. put them

  1882. right with

  1883. God?

  1884. That that

  1885. child would

  1886. rise again?

  1887. That that

  1888. child would

  1889. be ascended

  1890. to heaven and

  1891. seated at the

  1892. right hand of

  1893. God in

  1894. glory?

  1895. That that

  1896. child will

  1897. come again

  1898. and he will

  1899. put all

  1900. things right?

  1901. He will

  1902. judge all

  1903. things and

  1904. he will put

  1905. things right

  1906. in a new

  1907. heaven and

  1908. a new

  1909. earth,

  1910. the home

  1911. of

  1912. righteousness

  1913. where he

  1914. rules.

  1915. What if

  1916. David could

  1917. have seen

  1918. that 3,000

  1919. years ago?

  1920. I wonder

  1921. what would

  1922. have been

  1923. in our

  1924. Sam.

  1925. David sees

  1926. it now.

  1927. He sees

  1928. it all.

  1929. Do we

  1930. see it?

  1931. David is

  1932. wowed.

  1933. Jesus,

  1934. the

  1935. completeness

  1936. of God's

  1937. glory,

  1938. the Alpha

  1939. and the

  1940. Omega,

  1941. the full

  1942. alphabet,

  1943. the story

  1944. of redemption.

  1945. He delights

  1946. to save.

  1947. Will you

  1948. turn to

  1949. him for

  1950. salvation

  1951. today?

  1952. But how

  1953. will we

  1954. respond?

  1955. Can I

  1956. just say,

  1957. I read

  1958. a Sam

  1959. like this

  1960. and I'm

  1961. like,

  1962. I really

  1963. need to

  1964. be wowed

  1965. more than

  1966. I am.

  1967. God,

  1968. shake the

  1969. dullness

  1970. in me

  1971. so that

  1972. my lips

  1973. have to

  1974. open and

  1975. I need

  1976. to speak

  1977. like David.

  1978. We need

  1979. to be

  1980. wowed.

  1981. But also,

  1982. can I say

  1983. this?

  1984. I think

  1985. a response

  1986. to this

  1987. is,

  1988. we should

  1989. open our

  1990. mouths

  1991. and speak

  1992. of the

  1993. praise of

  1994. this great

  1995. God,

  1996. if he is

  1997. our God.

  1998. We need

  1999. to literally

  2000. speak,

  2001. not just

  2002. think about

  2003. it,

  2004. but actually

  2005. speak.

  2006. think of

  2007. this,

  2008. David says

  2009. in the

  2010. psalm,

  2011. look at

  2012. verse 4,

  2013. he says,

  2014. one generation

  2015. commends

  2016. your works

  2017. to another,

  2018. they tell

  2019. of your

  2020. mighty acts,

  2021. they speak

  2022. of the

  2023. glorious

  2024. splendor

  2025. of your

  2026. majesty,

  2027. I will

  2028. meditate

  2029. on your

  2030. wonderful

  2031. works.

  2032. And he

  2033. goes on,

  2034. one generation

  2035. to another.

  2036. This is

  2037. David's

  2038. concern,

  2039. I must

  2040. speak so

  2041. that the

  2042. next generation

  2043. will also

  2044. speak and

  2045. the generation

  2046. after them

  2047. will also

  2048. speak.

  2049. And you

  2050. know what,

  2051. David succeeded.

  2052. Here we

  2053. are 3,000

  2054. years later

  2055. and his

  2056. words have

  2057. been passed

  2058. on generation

  2059. to generation

  2060. to us.

  2061. That's cool.

  2062. That means

  2063. speaking up

  2064. can make a

  2065. difference

  2066. generation

  2067. to generation

  2068. through time.

  2069. So some

  2070. very practical

  2071. things I think

  2072. we should do

  2073. in relation

  2074. to a proper

  2075. response to

  2076. this Sam.

  2077. Sam.

  2078. here it

  2079. is.

  2080. Open your

  2081. mouth and

  2082. speak the

  2083. praise of

  2084. the Lord.

  2085. But here's

  2086. some practical

  2087. realities.

  2088. We've already

  2089. done it this

  2090. morning,

  2091. but I think

  2092. we can do

  2093. it in a

  2094. more wild

  2095. way.

  2096. Sing.

  2097. Because David

  2098. wrote a

  2099. song.

  2100. Sing,

  2101. be here,

  2102. and be

  2103. heard when

  2104. it's time

  2105. to sing.

  2106. Every Sunday

  2107. we gather

  2108. is an

  2109. opportunity

  2110. to speak

  2111. of the

  2112. greatness

  2113. of our

  2114. God to

  2115. those who

  2116. believe already

  2117. and those

  2118. who have

  2119. yet to

  2120. believe.

  2121. So sing.

  2122. Practical

  2123. reality.

  2124. Sing out.

  2125. Be heard.

  2126. No auditions.

  2127. We're all

  2128. called to

  2129. speak of

  2130. his greatness

  2131. through song.

  2132. Speak

  2133. then.

  2134. Others

  2135. must hear

  2136. of God's

  2137. greatness.

  2138. Can I

  2139. just say

  2140. a very

  2141. practical

  2142. application

  2143. is in

  2144. verse 4

  2145. here.

  2146. The next

  2147. generation

  2148. needs to

  2149. hear.

  2150. Can you

  2151. imagine a

  2152. tech company

  2153. that would

  2154. have decided

  2155. you know

  2156. what?

  2157. First

  2158. generation

  2159. was

  2160. adequate.

  2161. What if

  2162. Apple

  2163. decided

  2164. the first

  2165. iPhone

  2166. that's

  2167. all we

  2168. needed.

  2169. They'd

  2170. have been

  2171. left

  2172. behind.

  2173. Right?

  2174. We need

  2175. to realize

  2176. that this

  2177. glorious

  2178. message needs

  2179. to pass

  2180. from our

  2181. lips to

  2182. the next

  2183. generation

  2184. so that

  2185. they will

  2186. tell the

  2187. next

  2188. generation

  2189. so they

  2190. will tell

  2191. the next

  2192. generation.

  2193. Speak

  2194. so that

  2195. generations

  2196. to come

  2197. will hear.

  2198. Can I

  2199. just say

  2200. a little

  2201. word to

  2202. parents?

  2203. We do

  2204. need to

  2205. focus on

  2206. the next

  2207. generation

  2208. hearing.

  2209. They need

  2210. to hear

  2211. it from

  2212. our lips.

  2213. When we

  2214. come here

  2215. and sing

  2216. they need

  2217. to hear

  2218. us sing.

  2219. When we're

  2220. at home

  2221. we need

  2222. to speak

  2223. of the

  2224. greatness

  2225. of God

  2226. and take

  2227. opportunities

  2228. to point

  2229. our children

  2230. to the

  2231. greatness

  2232. of God.

  2233. And what I

  2234. just say

  2235. don't miss

  2236. opportunities

  2237. to bring

  2238. your children

  2239. to places

  2240. where they

  2241. will hear

  2242. of the

  2243. greatness

  2244. of God.

  2245. That probably

  2246. means a lot

  2247. more trips

  2248. to the

  2249. petrol station

  2250. to fill

  2251. up and

  2252. pay.

  2253. That means

  2254. a lot more

  2255. time driving

  2256. around in

  2257. your car

  2258. and prioritizing

  2259. where you're

  2260. going to bring

  2261. your children

  2262. because my

  2263. children must

  2264. hear of the

  2265. greatness

  2266. of this

  2267. God.

  2268. Practical

  2269. application.

  2270. For

  2271. Carigline

  2272. Baptist

  2273. can I

  2274. just say

  2275. to encourage

  2276. you,

  2277. you are

  2278. known for

  2279. your concern

  2280. for next

  2281. generations.

  2282. It's already

  2283. been announced

  2284. this morning

  2285. that amazing

  2286. things going

  2287. on with

  2288. youth and

  2289. children.

  2290. And can I

  2291. say,

  2292. they must

  2293. know our

  2294. God.

  2295. And I

  2296. know this

  2297. concerns you

  2298. and I

  2299. know it's

  2300. very costly

  2301. to invest

  2302. in the

  2303. next

  2304. generation.

  2305. Could I

  2306. just say

  2307. keep

  2308. enduring

  2309. in that?

  2310. Keep

  2311. speaking to

  2312. them of

  2313. the greatness

  2314. of God.

  2315. We trust

  2316. that generations

  2317. to come

  2318. will hear

  2319. from them

  2320. about how

  2321. great and

  2322. how wowed

  2323. they've

  2324. become by

  2325. our great

  2326. God.

  2327. Also speak

  2328. of your

  2329. future hope.

  2330. The psalm,

  2331. to an

  2332. extent,

  2333. the psalm

  2334. feels like,

  2335. well,

  2336. where's the

  2337. realism of

  2338. the previous

  2339. psalms?

  2340. Because in

  2341. the previous

  2342. psalms,

  2343. there's lots

  2344. of real

  2345. life stuff

  2346. in there.

  2347. This seems

  2348. almost too

  2349. good.

  2350. It's kind

  2351. of too

  2352. utopian.

  2353. But I

  2354. think what

  2355. it is,

  2356. is that

  2357. David,

  2358. as he

  2359. ages,

  2360. realizes,

  2361. you know

  2362. what,

  2363. what I'm

  2364. talking about

  2365. in this

  2366. psalm is

  2367. real life.

  2368. It's the

  2369. life to

  2370. come.

  2371. And I'm

  2372. full of

  2373. anticipation.

  2374. Notice how

  2375. many times

  2376. David talks

  2377. about forever

  2378. and ever.

  2379. He's

  2380. anticipating the

  2381. life to

  2382. come.

  2383. And so

  2384. there's a

  2385. little word

  2386. here for

  2387. those of

  2388. us who

  2389. hesitate,

  2390. are aging.

  2391. How's that?

  2392. I don't want to

  2393. call anybody

  2394. aged yet.

  2395. But this

  2396. utopian

  2397. outlook is

  2398. truly life.

  2399. There's a

  2400. member of

  2401. our congregation

  2402. now in

  2403. his 90s

  2404. and his

  2405. health is

  2406. really

  2407. slipping.

  2408. And his

  2409. mind is

  2410. slipping a

  2411. bit.

  2412. He says

  2413. to me,

  2414. when I go

  2415. visit him

  2416. several times

  2417. in the

  2418. conversation,

  2419. maybe three,

  2420. four times,

  2421. he'll say,

  2422. oh, what

  2423. part of

  2424. America are

  2425. you from?

  2426. And I

  2427. say, well,

  2428. I'm actually

  2429. Canadian.

  2430. And he's

  2431. always, what

  2432. part of

  2433. Canada?

  2434. Oh, I'm

  2435. from the

  2436. west, in

  2437. the mountains.

  2438. Oh, right,

  2439. you're from

  2440. the west.

  2441. What's it

  2442. like there?

  2443. Do you

  2444. like it

  2445. there?

  2446. And then

  2447. maybe seven

  2448. minutes later,

  2449. we have the

  2450. same conversation

  2451. again and

  2452. again.

  2453. He keeps

  2454. springing up.

  2455. But you

  2456. know, this

  2457. man, before

  2458. he started

  2459. to slip

  2460. mentally, and

  2461. now that

  2462. he's slipped

  2463. mentally, there

  2464. is one line

  2465. he repeats

  2466. five to ten

  2467. times every

  2468. time I visit

  2469. him, and

  2470. it's this,

  2471. Bryce.

  2472. And he

  2473. says it with

  2474. emotion in

  2475. his voice and

  2476. often tears

  2477. in his eyes.

  2478. Bryce, the

  2479. Lord.

  2480. has been so

  2481. good to

  2482. me.

  2483. He can't

  2484. stop saying

  2485. it, whether

  2486. fully in his

  2487. right mind or

  2488. slipping.

  2489. He has to

  2490. speak these

  2491. words again

  2492. and again

  2493. and again.

  2494. If we're

  2495. aging, we've

  2496. still got words

  2497. to speak, just

  2498. like David

  2499. does in

  2500. this psalm.

  2501. David cannot

  2502. contain God's

  2503. greatness.

  2504. He says,

  2505. verse 21,

  2506. my mouth

  2507. will speak

  2508. in praise

  2509. of the

  2510. Lord.

  2511. Let every

  2512. creature

  2513. praise his

  2514. holy name

  2515. forever and

  2516. ever.

  2517. Can I say

  2518. just to you,

  2519. brothers and

  2520. sisters, let

  2521. it be said

  2522. of Keragoline

  2523. Baptist

  2524. Church, these

  2525. people actually

  2526. believe in this

  2527. great God, and

  2528. they can't help

  2529. opening their

  2530. mouths to

  2531. speak and to

  2532. sing of the

  2533. greatness of

  2534. their Lord.

  2535. Let's pray.

  2536. Father, we

  2537. thank you for

  2538. these words of

  2539. David.

  2540. We confess

  2541. that we're

  2542. often not

  2543. wowed as

  2544. David was,

  2545. but we know

  2546. that him led

  2547. by the Spirit

  2548. has brought us

  2549. these words.

  2550. Would you lead

  2551. us by your

  2552. Spirit to be

  2553. wowed by your

  2554. greatness and

  2555. then to open

  2556. our mouths and

  2557. speak of your

  2558. majesty?

  2559. Amen.

  2560. Thanks very

  2561. much, Bryce.
