  1. Turn in your Bibles to 2 Corinthians chapter 7, verses 2-16, which is on page 1163 of the Church Bibles.

    2 Corinthians 7:2–16

  2. ! So that's 2 Corinthians chapter 7, and starting in verse 2.

    2 Corinthians 7 chapter mention

  3. Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one. We have corrupted no one. We have exploited no one.

  4. I do not say this to condemn you. I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts that we would live or die with you.

  5. I have spoken to you with great frankness. I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged in all our troubles. My joy knows no bounds.

  6. For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn, conflicts on the outside, fears within.

  7. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort that you had given him.

  8. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.

  9. Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it, I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while.

  10. Yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance.

  11. For you became sorrowful as God intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us.

  12. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret.

  13. But worldly sorrow brings death.

  14. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you.

  15. What earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done.

  16. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

  17. So even though I wrote to you, it was neither on account of the one who did the wrong, nor on account of the injured party,

  18. but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are.

  19. By all this we are encouraged.

  20. In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus was,

  21. because his spirit had been refreshed by all of you.

  22. I had boasted to him about you, and you have not embarrassed me.

  23. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titus has proved to be true as well.

  24. And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient,

  25. receiving him with fear and trembling.

  26. I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.

  27. Good morning everyone.

  28. I'll try again.

  29. Good morning everyone.

  30. That's good.

  31. Somebody's out there.

  32. let's keep our Bibles open at 2 Corinthians chapter 7 and it's quite a long chunk but

    2 Corinthians 7 chapter mention

  33. I hope as we go through it you'll see a connecting theme

  34. we're going to break next week from 2 Corinthians and we're going to be looking

  35. at Isaiah 42 so if you want to read up on what we're going to be looking at in the next few weeks

  36. you can read Isaiah 42 not now of course but let's pray together and ask for the Lord's help

  37. Jesus said as the Father has loved me so have I loved you I have told you this

  38. so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete

  39. Father our prayer is simple we come as needy people longing to experience your joy in our life

  40. and we pray that by your spirit you would enable us to experience that joy as we love one another

  41. and love the Lord Jesus amen

  42. well have you got that Christmas feeling that bubbling overflowing joy I don't mean the kind

  43. of happy vibe you get with putting up Christmas lights and listening to the music or that surface

  44. thrill as you meet with friends for Christmas drinks that's a manufactured circumstantial joy

  45. so that when you put all the decorations away and the music stops and it's back to January and back to work

  46. well in that moment our joy just evaporates

  47. now the joy that we're talking about today is a joy that is deep and foundational even when life can be hard and broken

  48. a joy that can say look back at chapter 6 verse 10

  49. chapter 6 verse 10 a joy that can say sorrowful yet always rejoicing

  50. now we don't usually put those two together sorrow and joy so how can we experience that kind of joy

  51. joy well up to now in our studies of second Corinthians we've seen that Christian life is hard Christian

  52. ministry Christian service is difficult serving Christ will involve weakness suffering and death

  53. which doesn't sound very joyful at all but as we turn to chapter 7 we discover that we can experience

  54. joy as we serve Christ think of a honeycomb and breaking open that honeycomb and all that honey just dripping down

  55. well as we open up chapter 7 as we open it up it drips with joy

  56. look at the text with me look at the end of verse 4 of chapter 7

  57. he says I take great pride in you

  58. I'm greatly encouraged in all our troubles

  59. my joy

  60. knows no bounds

  61. or look at the end of verse 7

  62. he talks about

  63. the deep sorrow the ardent concern for me so that my joy was greater than ever

  64. or verse 9

  65. yet how I am happy or joyful

  66. down in verse 13

  67. he says in addition to our own encouragement we were especially

  68. delighted the same word there is joy

  69. to see how joyful Titus was

  70. and verse 16

  71. I rejoice or I am glad I can have complete confidence in you

  72. can you see how it just oozes with joy

  73. because as we serve Christ

  74. we experience joy

  75. now before we look at this joy through the text together

  76. we need to know what joy means

  77. so here's a simple definition of Christian joy

  78. with the help of John Piper

  79. Christian joy

  80. is the experience of a deep

  81. happy

  82. emotion or feeling

  83. worked in us

  84. by the Holy Spirit

  85. as we serve

  86. Christ

  87. it's the experience of a deep

  88. happy emotion

  89. worked in us

  90. by the Spirit

  91. as we serve

  92. Christ

  93. so here we have

  94. four ways to experience

  95. joy

  96. this Christmas

  97. a joy

  98. that you won't hear of

  99. anywhere else

  100. here's the first one

  101. transparent love

  102. produces

  103. boundless

  104. joy

  105. look at how this love

  106. is expressed

  107. verse 2

  108. Paul writing to the church in Corinth

  109. he says

  110. make room for us

  111. in your hearts

  112. of course Paul had

  113. already opened

  114. his heart

  115. to the church

  116. look back at chapter 6

  117. verse 12

  118. he says

  119. we are not withholding

  120. our affection

  121. from you

  122. but you are withholding

  123. your affection

  124. from us

  125. so as a fair exchange

  126. and I speak to you

  127. as to my children

  128. open wide

  129. your hearts

  130. also

  131. there's a deep

  132. transparent

  133. affection

  134. for Christ's

  135. people

  136. but not only that

  137. there's this

  138. sacrificial

  139. commitment

  140. this sacrificial

  141. love

  142. expressed to the

  143. people

  144. look at the middle

  145. of verse 3

  146. this is chapter 7

    Isaiah 7:3

  147. verse 3

  148. he said

  149. I have said

  150. before

  151. that you have

  152. such a place

  153. in our hearts

  154. that we would

  155. live

  156. or die

  157. with you

  158. I'm here

  159. to serve

  160. your good

  161. to seek

  162. your best

  163. in living

  164. I am

  165. with you

  166. in dying

  167. I am

  168. with you

  169. can you see

  170. this

  171. open heartedness

  172. this

  173. transparent

  174. love

  175. for God's

  176. people

  177. it's saying

  178. I'm for you

  179. I'm holding

  180. nothing back

  181. I'm giving

  182. my all

  183. it's

  184. deep affection

  185. faithful

  186. service

  187. sacrificial

  188. love

  189. it's saying

  190. verse 4

  191. I take

  192. great

  193. pride

  194. in you

  195. now isn't

  196. that the

  197. kind of

  198. love

  199. we all

  200. seek

  201. the kind

  202. of love

  203. we long

  204. to experience

  205. a love

  206. where it's

  207. opening up

  208. hearts

  209. a love

  210. that gives

  211. to the

  212. blessing

  213. of others

  214. well as we

  215. as God's

  216. people

  217. obey God's

  218. commands

  219. to love

  220. one another

  221. look at the

  222. results

  223. of such

  224. love

  225. transparent

  226. love

  227. produces

  228. boundless

  229. joy

  230. hope

  231. hope

  232. look at

  233. the end

  234. of verse

  235. 4

  236. I am

  237. greatly

  238. encouraged

  239. in all

  240. our

  241. troubles

  242. my

  243. joy

  244. knows

  245. no

  246. bounds

  247. You see, transparent love removes all the obstacles to joy.

  248. It breaks down all the barriers to experiencing joy.

  249. When we open wide our hearts to one another as we faithfully serve and sacrificially commit,

  250. look at the results.

  251. They are incalculable.

  252. We can say, end of verse 4, my joy knows no bounds.

  253. So this Christmas, the call to one another is to not, what am I getting?

  254. But serve one another with transparent love.

  255. And as we do, we will experience a boundless happiness that wells up inside each one of us.

  256. Transparent love brings boundless joy.

  257. Second, genuine care causes an increased joy.

  258. Now some context will help us here as we look at verse 5.

  259. Let's go back to chapter 2 to start off with.

  260. Back to chapter 2 and verse 12.

  261. You see, what's going on here is that Paul had sent his companion, his fellow worker Titus,

  262. to Corinth with a letter.

  263. And we're going to talk about that letter in just a minute.

  264. And the plan was that after Timothy had brought the letter to Corinth,

  265. Titus would then meet Paul back in a place called Troas.

  266. So Corinth is in Greece and Troas was on the coast of Turkey.

  267. So there was a bit of travelling to take place to bring the letter all the way to Greece

  268. and then meet up again in Turkey.

  269. So let's pick it up, chapter 2, verse 12.

  270. So Paul says,

  271. When I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ

  272. and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,

  273. I still had no peace of mind.

  274. Why? What's the matter?

  275. Because I did not find my brother Titus there.

  276. He was meant to come and join him,

  277. but he wasn't there.

  278. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.

  279. Now this part of the story is picked up again for us in chapter 7, verse 5.

  280. Let's read verse 5.

  281. So when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest.

  282. But we were harassed at every turn.

  283. Conflicts on the outside and fears within.

  284. Not only had he opposition to deal with,

  285. but there were those fears inside.

  286. He had no peace of mind.

  287. Where's Titus?

  288. My brother, is he okay?

  289. Had something happened to him?

  290. He couldn't pick up the phone and ring him and see where he is or what's going on?

  291. And what about the church?

  292. Is the church alright?

  293. Have they fallen apart?

  294. Have they stopped meeting together?

  295. His fearful concern led him to being, verse 6,

  296. downcast.

  297. Literally, he was depressed.

  298. He was worried sick for his brother Titus and the church.

  299. He didn't know how they were.

  300. Now isn't that how we can often feel for Christ's people?

  301. Don't you fear for how your brother and sister are doing?

  302. How is their faith?

  303. Why are they absent?

  304. How are they going to get through this trial?

  305. But yet God was at work through it all.

  306. Two things.

  307. First, there was God's comfort.

  308. Verse 6.

  309. But God, who comforts the downcast,

  310. comforted us by the coming of Titus.

  311. Oh, Titus, you're here.

  312. You could imagine that embrace as they hugged and wept.

  313. Titus, my friend, my companion,

  314. all is well.

  315. He's okay.

  316. And the church?

  317. Oh, they're okay too.

  318. Look at the rest of verse 7.

  319. He told us about your longing for me,

  320. your deep sorrow and your ardent concern for me.

  321. His spirits were lifted,

  322. no longer down,

  323. but now happy.

  324. You see, as we serve our brothers and sisters,

  325. as we have concern,

  326. look at the results.

  327. Genuine concern causes increased joy.

  328. Isn't that what we see at the end of verse 7?

  329. That my joy was greater than ever.

  330. Genuine concern can bring fears and worries.

  331. Concern for our brothers and sisters

  332. can make us lie awake at night.

  333. But as God does his work through these trials,

  334. and as we find out how each other are doing,

  335. it leads to an increased joy.

  336. As we invest in each other,

  337. as we carry the concerns of one another,

  338. as we are burdened for each other,

  339. and at times we feel downcast.

  340. Yet God is at work so we can also say,

  341. my joy is greater than ever.

  342. So this Christmas,

  343. let's encourage one another

  344. to continue on in the genuine care.

  345. Because as we do,

  346. we will experience an increased happiness

  347. that wells up with inside of us

  348. and overflows.

  349. So genuine care

  350. brings about an increased joy.

  351. Third,

  352. honest conversations

  353. foster spontaneous joy.

  354. Look at verse 8.

  355. For if I caused you sorrow

  356. by my letter,

  357. I do not regret it.

  358. This was the letter

  359. that Titus had brought.

  360. And well,

  361. gosh,

  362. it wasn't the easiest of letters

  363. to read.

  364. Look back at chapter 2 again with me.

  365. We get an insight

  366. into the difficulty

  367. in writing this letter

  368. and what was behind it.

  369. chapter 2,

  370. verse 3.

  371. Paul says,

  372. I wrote as I did

  373. so that when I came

  374. I wouldn't be distressed

  375. by those who should have made me rejoice.

  376. I had confidence in all of you

  377. that you would all share my joy.

  378. For I wrote to you

  379. out of great distress

  380. and anguish of heart

  381. and with many tears

  382. not to grieve you

  383. but to let you know

  384. the depth of my love

  385. for you.

  386. Go back to chapter 7.

  387. Paul was having to write

  388. a difficult letter

  389. to address

  390. some undealt-with sin

  391. in the life of the church.

  392. You see,

  393. sin is never private

  394. and if it's not dealt with

  395. well,

  396. rather than foster

  397. spontaneous joy

  398. it will fester

  399. in the lives

  400. of the church

  401. and it will kill

  402. and destroy.

  403. So Paul had to have

  404. these honest

  405. conversations

  406. with the church.

  407. a conversation

  408. by way of a letter.

  409. Verse 8.

  410. So even if I caused you

  411. sorrow

  412. by my letter

  413. I do not regret it.

  414. Though I did regret it

  415. because I see

  416. that my letter hurt you

  417. but only for a little while.

  418. He's,

  419. he's,

  420. he's,

  421. you know,

  422. I wanted you to hear this

  423. but my heart aches

  424. because it's going to cause you

  425. some difficulty.

  426. Verse 9.

  427. Yet now

  428. I am happy.

  429. Now I am joyful.

  430. What caused his joy

  431. in the midst of such sorrow

  432. in such a messy situation

  433. having to write about sin

  434. that all of he can,

  435. all of a sudden

  436. he can say,

  437. whoa,

  438. now I'm happy.

  439. Well,

  440. three things we'll see

  441. lead to his joy.

  442. First,

  443. sin

  444. has been confronted.

  445. None of us

  446. like to confront sin.

  447. We don't want to lose

  448. each other's friendship

  449. or come across

  450. a superior.

  451. But you know what?

  452. If we love the church,

  453. if we love our brothers

  454. and sisters,

  455. we will do the hard things.

  456. Just like Paul,

  457. we will have

  458. honest conversations

  459. and confront sin.

  460. So first,

  461. sin is confronted.

  462. Second,

  463. repentance

  464. is practiced.

  465. Look at verse 10.

  466. Godly sorrow

  467. brings repentance

  468. that leads to salvation

  469. and leaves no regret.

  470. Now there's a huge difference

  471. between regretting our sin

  472. and repenting of our sin.

  473. regretting our sin

  474. means,

  475. well,

  476. you're sorrowful

  477. because your sin

  478. has been revealed.

  479. You're not really

  480. sorry to God.

  481. I only feel

  482. sorry for myself.

  483. that's,

  484. at the end of verse 10,

  485. is worldly sorrow

  486. and it leads to death.

  487. You see,

  488. regret does not bring joy.

  489. Rather,

  490. it will destroy you.

  491. So,

  492. we don't want to regret our sin.

  493. Rather,

  494. we want to repent of our sin.

  495. To have godly sorrow.

  496. That is,

  497. to grieve over our sin

  498. and see how it hurts others

  499. and how it is an offense

  500. to God.

  501. Where we admit our sin,

  502. we don't excuse it,

  503. we own it

  504. and take responsibility

  505. and we confess it all

  506. to our Father God

  507. and we receive forgiveness

  508. and we seek change

  509. and transformation

  510. in our life.

  511. that's,

  512. verse 10,

  513. godly sorrow

  514. and it leads to salvation

  515. and no regrets.

  516. Emptying the tank

  517. before God

  518. will be a joy for you.

  519. That's what we are to practice

  520. amongst each other.

  521. we confront our sin,

  522. repentance is practiced

  523. and then we see that change

  524. is seen.

  525. Look at verse 11.

  526. See what this godly sorrow

  527. has produced in you.

  528. It's taken effect

  529. in your life.

  530. What earnestness,

  531. what eagerness

  532. to clear yourselves,

  533. what indignation,

  534. what alarm,

  535. what longing,

  536. what concern,

  537. what readiness

  538. to see justice done.

  539. They wanted to get right

  540. with God

  541. and with their brothers

  542. and sisters

  543. and to put everything right.

  544. You see,

  545. confronting sin

  546. and practicing repentance

  547. leads

  548. to a transformed life.

  549. a life that becomes

  550. more like Christ.

  551. So of course,

  552. Paul was rejoicing.

  553. You see,

  554. honest conversations

  555. with brothers and sisters

  556. fosters

  557. spontaneous joy.

  558. Isn't that what we see

  559. in verse 9?

  560. As he had sorrow

  561. over the letter he wrote,

  562. verse 9,

  563. yet now I am happy.

  564. I'm happy

  565. because you have come

  566. to repentance.

  567. And so as the Spirit of God

  568. convicts us

  569. as we openly confess

  570. to one another,

  571. as we lead each other

  572. back to the Lord Jesus,

  573. there is joy

  574. in that journey.

  575. We can also say,

  576. verse 9,

  577. now I am joyful.

  578. So this Christmas,

  579. don't avoid the elephant

  580. in the room.

  581. Let's have those

  582. honest conversations.

  583. And as we do,

  584. we will experience

  585. that spontaneous happiness

  586. that wells up

  587. within us.

  588. So,

  589. honest conversations

  590. leads to spontaneous joy.

  591. Fourth,

  592. nurturing relationships

  593. promotes a confident joy.

  594. You see,

  595. there's a wonderful,

  596. beautiful relationship

  597. in these verses,

  598. indeed throughout

  599. the whole letter,

  600. between the church

  601. in Corinth,

  602. Titus,

  603. who's bringing the letter,

  604. and Paul.

  605. A partnership

  606. where they work

  607. and invest

  608. in each other's lives.

  609. There's the encouragement

  610. of the church

  611. to Titus,

  612. verse 13.

  613. In addition

  614. to our own encouragement,

  615. we were especially

  616. delighted,

  617. we were joyful

  618. to see

  619. how joyful

  620. Titus was.

  621. because by,

  622. because his spirit

  623. has been refreshed

  624. by all of you.

  625. The church

  626. loved

  627. Titus.

  628. And Titus

  629. in turn

  630. loved

  631. the church.

  632. Verse 15.

  633. His affection

  634. for you

  635. is all the greater

  636. when he remembers

  637. that you were

  638. all obedient.

  639. This mutual

  640. sharing of love

  641. between each other.

  642. but this love

  643. has all

  644. been nurtured

  645. and encouraged

  646. by Paul.

  647. Look how he speaks

  648. to the church

  649. and to Titus

  650. about each other.

  651. Look at verse 14.

  652. I had boasted

  653. to Titus

  654. about you,

  655. that's the church,

  656. and you have not

  657. embarrassed me.

  658. Titus,

  659. the church

  660. in Corinth,

  661. yeah,

  662. they've got

  663. their flaws,

  664. yes,

  665. they're messy

  666. people,

  667. but they love

  668. the Lord.

  669. And deep down

  670. they care

  671. and they will

  672. care for you.

  673. It's going to be

  674. okay,

  675. Titus.

  676. And look what

  677. he says

  678. to the church

  679. about Titus.

  680. Verse,

  681. at the end

  682. of verse 14.

  683. But just as

  684. everything

  685. we said

  686. to you

  687. was true,

  688. so our

  689. boasting

  690. about you

  691. to Titus

  692. has proved

  693. to be true

  694. as well.

  695. The church

  696. in Corinth

  697. he's telling

  698. them,

  699. Titus is a

  700. good guy,

  701. he genuinely

  702. cares for you,

  703. he has

  704. deep affection

  705. for you.

  706. This mutual

  707. love,

  708. one for the

  709. other.

  710. And Paul

  711. nurturing

  712. that love

  713. as he speaks

  714. well of each

  715. other.

  716. And look

  717. at the

  718. results of

  719. it all,

  720. verse 16.

  721. Nurturing

  722. relationships

  723. promotes

  724. confident

  725. joy.

  726. I am

  727. joyful

  728. that I

  729. can have

  730. complete

  731. confidence

  732. in you.

  733. There's

  734. this beautiful

  735. joy that

  736. comes as

  737. we nurture

  738. our

  739. relationships.

  740. relationships.

  741. Yes, it

  742. takes effort.

  743. Yes, it

  744. can be hard

  745. work.

  746. Yes, it

  747. can be messy.

  748. But oh, isn't

  749. it worth it

  750. all?

  751. To nurture

  752. the relationships

  753. that we have

  754. with each

  755. other

  756. builds

  757. for our

  758. future.

  759. It puts us

  760. on a good

  761. foundation.

  762. So this

  763. Christmas,

  764. treasure

  765. those

  766. relationships.

  767. Nurture

  768. them.

  769. Speak

  770. well to

  771. one another.

  772. And as we

  773. do, we

  774. will experience

  775. a confident

  776. happiness

  777. that wells

  778. up within

  779. us and

  780. overflows.

  781. those.

  782. So have

  783. you got

  784. that

  785. Christmas

  786. feeling?

  787. That

  788. overflowing

  789. joy?

  790. Well, before

  791. we head out

  792. the door this

  793. morning and

  794. think, all

  795. right, I've

  796. got to serve

  797. more, I've

  798. got to love

  799. more, and

  800. then I'm

  801. going to get

  802. more joy.

  803. No.

  804. Let's be

  805. careful.

  806. We don't

  807. serve to

  808. receive joy.

  809. We

  810. experience

  811. joy as

  812. we serve.

  813. We don't

  814. serve to

  815. receive joy.

  816. It's not

  817. something we

  818. earn to

  819. get.

  820. Rather, we

  821. experience

  822. joy as

  823. we serve.

  824. You see,

  825. the joy

  826. comes in

  827. serving

  828. Christ,

  829. who loved

  830. us and

  831. served us.

  832. us.

  833. Just take a

  834. sneak peek at

  835. chapter 8,

  836. verse 9.

  837. We'll come

  838. back to this

  839. after Christmas.

  840. But here's a

  841. well-known

  842. verse of the

  843. wonderful love

  844. of God who

  845. served us.

  846. For you

  847. know the

  848. grace of our

  849. Lord Jesus

  850. Christ, that

  851. though he was

  852. rich, yet

  853. for your

  854. sake he

  855. became poor,

  856. so that you

  857. through his

  858. poverty might

  859. become rich.

  860. Here is a

  861. true,

  862. transparent love,

  863. a saviour who

  864. opened wide

  865. his heart and

  866. held nothing

  867. back.

  868. In deep

  869. affection,

  870. Jesus loved

  871. us and he

  872. took our

  873. poverty, all

  874. our sin and

  875. all our mess,

  876. so that we

  877. might receive

  878. his riches and

  879. the forgiveness

  880. of all our

  881. sin.

  882. In genuine

  883. concern, Jesus

  884. confronted us.

  885. By the

  886. Holy Spirit he

  887. caused us to

  888. turn in

  889. repentance.

  890. Jesus saw

  891. our need and

  892. he reached out

  893. to save us

  894. and to change

  895. us.

  896. and now we

  897. live with the

  898. comfort of

  899. Jesus who

  900. by his

  901. spirit nurtures

  902. that relationship

  903. as we listen

  904. to him and

  905. as we talk

  906. to him.

  907. You see, we

  908. don't serve

  909. Christ to

  910. get the

  911. joy.

  912. We experience

  913. the joy as

  914. we serve

  915. Christ who

  916. loved us

  917. and who

  918. served us.

  919. So this

  920. Christmas, I

  921. pray, I

  922. pray for us

  923. all and

  924. can we pray

  925. for one

  926. another that

  927. we will have

  928. a truly joy

  929. filled

  930. Christmas as

  931. we look at

  932. the beauty of

  933. Christ who

  934. loved us and

  935. served us

  936. and as we

  937. in response

  938. serve one

  939. another in

  940. love.

  941. Let's pray

  942. together.

  943. Our

  944. Father,

  945. will you

  946. please help

  947. us by

  948. your spirit

  949. to love

  950. one another

  951. well with

  952. a transparent

  953. love,

  954. that we

  955. would

  956. demonstrate

  957. genuine

  958. concern,

  959. that you

  960. would help

  961. us to have

  962. honest

  963. conversations,

  964. and that

  965. Father, you

  966. would help

  967. us to

  968. nurture the

  969. relationships we

  970. have with one

  971. another.

  972. We pray all

  973. of this,

  974. that it might

  975. be to the

  976. glory of

  977. God,

  978. for the

  979. good of

  980. others,

  981. and for the

  982. overflow and

  983. experience of

  984. joy in our

  985. life.

  986. Thank you,

  987. Lord Jesus,

  988. that you

  989. loved us,

  990. and you

  991. served us,

  992. and you

  993. continue to

  994. love and

  995. to serve us

  996. now.

  997. Thank you,

  998. Jesus.

  999. Amen.

  1000. We're going

  1001. to respond

  1002. in song.

  1003. Thank you,

  1004. up.
