Healing Assured - Part 4

Hello, and welcome to another great Faith Builders Broadcast.

My name is Pastor Phillip Steele, and we are so glad that you have chosen to join us for this edition of the Faith Builders Broadcast as we continue to look at this all-important subject of healing assured.

And I'm so glad that you joined us today.

We're excited about what God's doing.

Let's dive right into the Word of God today.

We've been looking at this subject of healing assured and how, according to the Word of God, uh it is an assurance, a right that we have as believers.

And the question then becomes Did Jesus redeem us from disease when he atoned for our sins?

All right, we talked last time that we were together that the Word of God says he forgave all of our iniquities and healed all of our diseases.

And so don't just stop at the sin being forgiven, press into the disease being removed and the sickness being removed.

So the question then is, did Jesus redeem us from disease when he atoned for our sins?

In Romans chapter 5 and verse 12, uh the Apostle Paul makes a statement wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

All right, death entered the world through sin.

We know that when Adam died, when Adam sinned and died spiritually, that's when death entered the world through sin.

Lillian B.

Yeomans, who was mightily used by the Lord Jesus in healing in the early part of the 20th century, made this statement.

She said, sickness is the foul offspring of its father Satan and its mother sin.

All right, there was no sickness, there was no disease before sin entered the world.

And when sin entered the world, death entered by sin.

Sickness is the beginning of death.

All right, sickness is the beginning of death.

And since sickness entered by sin, the redemption then, the antidote, the answer, must be found in the redemption of Christ.

Alright?

If sickness came by sin, then the answer must be found in the atonement of Christ.

In Acts chapter 10 and verse 38.

This is a familiar verse to many, but notice this is what Peter was preaching at the house of Cornelius, and he not only was ministering this there, he refers and says, this is what they ministered throughout Galilee during the ministry of Jesus.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

All right, he went about doing good and healing, notice, all that were oppressed of the devil.

All that were oppressed of the devil.

So sickness is oppression of the devil.

So the cure must be found in the redemption of Christ.

Anything that is satanic oppression, the answer is found in the redemption of Christ.

So since sickness is part of the curse, the true remedy must be the cross.

Only God can remove the curse.

And he does it by substitution.

He does it by substitution.

Let's look over in Exodus.

Hallelujah.

Exodus chapter twelve.

This is such good news.

Exodus chapter twelve and verse eight.

And it's talking about the children of Israel coming out of Egyptian bondage.

This is what we know as the Passover night and the Passover meal.

And verse 8, it says, They shall eat the flesh, the flesh of the Lamb, in that night roasted with fire and unleavened bread, and bitter herbs, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Eat not of it raw nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire his head, his legs, with the pertinence thereof, and you shall let nothing of it remain until the morning, and that which remaineth of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.

And thus shall ye eat it with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, your staff in your hand, and you shall eat it in haste.

It is the Lord's Passover.

So the Israelites ate of the physical lamb, the physical Passover lamb, for their physical strength.

All right?

They ate of that physical lamb for their physical strength.

Now, in 1 Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 7, it says that Christ is our Passover lamb.

So we receive physical health and strength from our Passover Lamb, Christ.

The Israelites ate of the Passover Lamb and received physical strength.

We receive physical strength by partaking of our Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ.

Now, in 1 Corinthians chapter 11, when Paul was recounting the night of Jesus' betrayal, and uh he said, if you'll remember, in verse 23 of 1 Corinthians 11, it says, I have received of the Lord that which I delivered unto you.

So the Lord told Paul this.

He spoke this to Paul.

In verse 29, it says, Concerning that supper that they're celebrating, the Lord's Supper, he that eateth and drinketh unworthily eateth and drinketh damnation or condemnation to himself not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many have died.

All right.

One translation makes this statement.

Because you exclude yourself from the blessing of the new covenant.

All right, you're not partaking of this Passover meal, this Lord's Supper.

Now, understand this.

Because they were excluding themselves from the blessing of the new covenant by what?

Not judging the body of Christ as payment for their healing.

All right?

When you're in church and you partake of the Lord's Supper, Jesus said, do that always in remembrance of him.

Not just in remembrance of his death, in remembrance of what his death produced, what his death provided.

All right?

What it made manifest for us as believers.

All right?

His body broken for me.

His body was the payment for my healing.

His body was the payment for my healing.

That's why the Word of God makes the statement, and it's very uh very careful to tell us this statement.

Peter says that he bore these things in his body to the tree.

All right.

Isaiah chapter 53, verses 4 and 5 talk about sicknesses being laid on him.

One translation says that God laid wasting disease on Jesus, and that with his stripes we were healed.

Well, all wasting diseases are found listed in Deuteronomy chapter 28, which Galatians 3.13 says we are redeemed from.

How are we redeemed from it?

Redemption, by definition, is to pay a ransom.

There are four words for redemption in the New Testament, but the bulk of that word is by payment of ransom.

A payment was made.

All right?

When Jesus went to the cross and carried in his body our sickness, our disease, payment was made at that moment for me to be redeemed and set free from that sickness and that disease.

Oh, hallelujah.

So his body was the payment.

And so when you partake of the wafer, the bread, the cracker, whatever you use, in the time that you're taking communion or the Lord's Supper, that body, that bread, is broken for me.

It is payment for me.

It would be like someone saying, This belongs to you because I've already paid for it.

All right?

If someone says, hey, would you like to go to this event?

We've already paid for you.

What does that mean?

I don't have to pay for anything.

I just have to receive it.

Healing is so simple to receive.

It's so simple to walk in.

All I have to do is receive it because the price has been paid.

The hard part was the price.

The easy part is the receiving.

I have the easy part.

Jesus had the hard part of paying the price.

I have the easy part of receiving.

Hallelujah.

Healing was taught in Old Testament types, all throughout the Word of God.

In the book of Leviticus, chapter 14 and verse 18, it says that if a man or a woman is found to have leprosy, all right, that they are to come to the high priest, and that the high priest would make atonement for them.

They would bring their gift, and the high priest would make atonement for them.

Christ is our high priest who made atonement for us.

Hallelujah.

The high priest would make atonement in the Old Testament.

Notice in Luke chapter 4.

In Luke chapter 4 and verse 18.

These are familiar verses to many.

But Jesus said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He's anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

The acceptable year of the Lord is referring to the Old Testament year of Jubilee.

Now, why is this important?

Jesus applied the year of Jubilee to the gospel dispensation.

He took it from the Old Testament and said, This is what I'm here to proclaim.

The acceptable year of the Lord.

In Leviticus 25 and 9, the word of God goes into some detail about this.

Leviticus 25 and verse 9.

And it says, concerning the year of Jubilee.

Verse 8 says, You shall number seven Sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times, seven years, and the space of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be in the you forty and nine years.

Then in the fiftieth year you shall cause, is what it's saying, you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month in the day of atonement, shall you make the trumpet sound throughout all of your land.

Hallelujah.

Now notice, you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month in the Day of Atonement.

In the Day of Atonement, you shall make the trumpet sound throughout the land.

Now notice this no blessing of the year of Jubilee was to be announced until the Day of Atonement.

No blessing of the year of Jubilee, when everyone went free, all the slaves were released, debts were canceled, property was given back, no blessing of that year was to be announced until the Day of Atonement.

No mercy was offered until the blood of the atonement was sprinkled on the mercy seat.

After that was done, that's when the mercy was offered.

What does that teach us?

That the blessing of the gospel, no blessing of the gospel, including healing, is offered without Christ's atonement.

There's no blessing of the gospel offered without the atonement of Christ.

Through the fall, we lost everything.

Through Adam's fall, Adam's uh uh transgression, we lost everything.

Jesus recovered all through the atonement.

All of it, every part of it.

And very often that that focus is on the eternal salvation of man's spirit, which obviously is the uh preeminent reason for Christ's coming to the earth.

But not only did he pay the price to bring us back to God in that spiritual sense, he paid the price to bring us back to the state that God intended for us to be in in the first place, which was a state of wholeness, completeness, spirit, soul, and body.

And so through the fall, everything was lost.

Through redemption, everything was recovered.

So the order of the year of Jubilee is first the atonement, first the blood is sprinkled.

Then the sounding of the trumpet of the year of Jubilee with the good news.

What's the good news?

You shall return to every man his possession.

Hallelujah.

Return to every man his possession.

So now the order is the same for you and I.

First, Calvary, the atonement, the payment made.

Then the good news that he bore our sin and carried our sicknesses.

Hallelujah.

Price has been paid, and when it was paid, he bore our sin and bore our sicknesses.

Hallelujah.

That's to be declared to every creature, every person, showing what?

That we may return every man to his possession.

See, what was lost, I have now recovered through the blood of Jesus.

It's been recovered for me.

And understand that that was lost for every person.

When Adam transgressed and Adam fell, it the Bible says death came upon all men.

Everyone lost their possessions.

Jesus Christ came and bought them back.

Now notice, and hear me when I say this because I want to follow this up.

Not just for the believer.

Jesus Christ came and paid the price for every individual in the earth.

Every individual that has ever been born or that ever will be born, the price has been paid for them to recoup and receive back all of their possessions that belong to mankind.

But because of sin, it separated them from God and therefore separated them from the atonement, and they're not receiving it.

The answer is to give their life to Christ, to be born again, to make Jesus their Lord, and all is brought back.

As the believer, it's all been paid for.

I have to receive it.

Hallelujah.

In Romans 10, 17, it says, of course, that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Faith comes by hearing the gospel and hearing by the word of God.

The reason many sick people have not returned to their physical possessions is because they've not heard the gospel along that line.

They've not heard the gospel along the line of healing.

When you hear the gospel, you return back.

You can return back to that possession and receive it.

Because that was man's in the beginning, this wholeness, this completeness, all right?

This oneness, this completeness in my spirit, soul, and body.

Man in the beginning, before the fall, was one with God in spirit, and one with God in thought, and one with God in physical body.

Oh, hallelujah.

Glory to God.

So the reason many people have not returned to their physical possessions is they've not heard the gospel along that line.

In Matthew 8 17, Jesus had healed Peter's mother-in-law.

And then they brought, the Bible says that they brought many that were possessed with demons and sick in their bodies.

And it says he cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick.

All that were sick.

And remember this, the whole city came to him.

The Bible, the the uh the Greek infers that he sat there in the doorway to Peter's home and healed the sick all night long.

Healed all the sick.

And it says, so that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, he took our sicknesses and our diseases, all right, our infirmities and our diseases, and with his stripes we are healed.

Oh, hallelujah.

Jesus healed all disease on the grounds of the atonement.

Here in Matthew 8, he had not gone to the cross yet.

He had not suffered on the cross yet.

He had not taken stripes on his back.

But yet Matthew says that he did this based on what he was going to do, because it fulfilled what Isaiah said.

That he took our sicknesses and bore our diseases, our infirmities, our pains, and with his stripes we are healed.

Hallelujah.

Jesus healed these people based on what he was going to do.

And I've said this often over the years.

If Jesus could heal these people based on what he was going to do, how much more will he heal us based on what he has already done?

Hallelujah.

So he healed all that were sick, so that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.

So since it was our sicknesses, he bore.

His atonement covered us all.

Every one of us.

Let me say that again.

Since it was our sicknesses He bore, His atonement covered us all.

It would require the healing of us all to fulfill this prophecy.

He healed all that were sick.

Hallelujah.

I don't know about you, but I want to be a part of fulfilling that prophecy.

If he bore all our sickness and our disease, then the healing is the fulfillment of that prophecy.

It's been bore, it's been taken, it's been carried away.

Now all there is is to receive it.

All there is is to receive it.

Jesus is still healing all that come to him in faith.

For what reason?

That it might be fulfilled.

That it might be fulfilled.

That it might be fulfilled.

He bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases, and with his stripes we're healed.

Just reach out right there wherever you're at.

Touch that device, the TV, iPad, phone, however you're watching this.

Hallelujah.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that we have seen from your word, Lord, that it is your will to heal us, deliver us, and set us free.

I come into agreement right now with my brother or sister.

Whatever the sickness or disease is that they may be dealing with, I call them healed and well and whole.

Jesus, thank you for healing them.

Thank you for delivering them.

Thank you for setting them free by the power of Jesus' name.

Amen and amen.
