Shalom dear one, you are warmly welcome to today's Morning
-
Glory devotion. I am excited to come your way with
-
another inspired devotional written by Mrs. Ifeache Amwasa from Harvest
-
Chapel International, Denyame, Kumasi. Let us begin by sharing a
-
word of prayer. Father, we thank you for the blessing
-
of a new day. As we look into your word,
-
may we be transformed and empowered for our assignment for today.
-
In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Let us kindly take our
-
confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1
-
verse 8 This book of the law shall not depart
-
out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it
-
day and night, that I may observe to do according
-
to all that is written in it. For then I
-
will make my way prosperous, and then I will have
-
good success. Amen. Today's message, written by Mrs. Ifeache Amwasa,
-
is titled, Swimming Beneath the Surface. Swimming Beneath the Surface.
-
And our scripture references will be taken from Galatians chapter
-
6 verse 2 and Philippians chapter 2 verse 4. Galatians
-
chapter 6 verse 2 and Philippians chapter 2 verse 4.
-
I will be reading from the New Living Translation. Let
-
us hear the word of the Lord. Galatians chapter 6
-
verse 2 Share each other's burdens and in this way
-
obey the law of Christ. Amen. Philippians chapter 2 verse
-
4 Don't look out only for your own interest, but
-
take an interest in others too. May the Lord add
-
his blessing to the reading and hearing of his word.
-
Thanks be to God. Swimming Beneath the Surface I once
-
read a gripping story about an artistic swimmer at a
-
world championship. She had just performed a breathtaking, near-perfect routine.
-
The music stopped, the applause exploded, and the crowd, along
-
with the judges, sat in awe, clapping enthusiastically for the
-
masterpiece they had just witnessed. But seconds ticked by, and
-
the swimmer still hadn't come up for air. Underneath the surface,
-
she had fainted and her motionless body was slowly sinking
-
to the bottom of the pool. From the stands, no
-
one noticed. To everyone watching, everything looked fine, except to
-
one person, her coach. The coach knew the routine inside
-
and out. She knew precisely how long it should take
-
for her swimmer to surface. Sensing danger instantly, she didn't
-
wait or hesitate for a second. Still fully clothed, she
-
jumped straight into the pool, dove to the bottom, pulled
-
the swimmer to the surface and saved her life. This
-
incredible story leaves us with a sobering question. Who are
-
you looking out for? Can you tell when a friend
-
is truly not okay? Can you notice when a work
-
colleague is quietly struggling under the weight of mental and
-
emotional exhaustion? Do you perceive when a fellow believer is
-
in deep pain, hiding behind a plastic smile and pretending
-
everything is fine? Just like the swimmer, many people are hurting,
-
drowning inwardly and slipping away while everyone else applauds their
-
outward success or assumes they are doing well. Human eyes
-
alone often miss the signs. It takes the sensitivity of
-
the Holy Spirit to lead us to truly see and discern.
-
Just as Jesus Christ did not wait for us to
-
cry out from the depths of our sin before he
-
dived into our brokenness, we are called to look beyond
-
the surface of people's lives. Philippians chapter 2 verse 4
-
urges us not to look only to our own interest
-
but to the interest of others, especially in seasons of
-
adversity when others are sinking silently. Galatians chapter 6 verse
-
2 also reminds us to bear one another's burdens which
-
requires us to be attentive and willing to help others.
-
In this life, we all need someone who is gracious
-
and brave enough to jump into the uncomfortable depths when
-
we are drowning in discomfort and pain. Let us desire
-
to be that person for someone else. In any way
-
we can, let us minister grace, love and attentive care
-
to one another. You never know whose life might be
-
saved simply because you decided to notice. In this way,
-
we become a living example of Christ's love. Amen. We'll
-
take our memory verse today from Philippians chapter 2 verse 4.
-
Philippians chapter 2 verse 4, reading from the New Living Translation.
-
Don't look out only for your own interest, but take
-
an interest in others too. Don't look out only for
-
your own interest, but take an interest in others too. Amen.
-
Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Father, in
-
the mighty name of Jesus, we thank you for your
-
word today. We pray for the sensitivity of the Holy
-
Spirit to lead us and to truly see and discern
-
what the people around us are going through. Make us,
-
O God, a blessing and help us to reach out.
-
In Jesus' mighty name we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Beloved,
-
remember that in this life we all need someone. who
-
is gracious and brave enough to jump into the uncomfortable
-
depths when we are drowning in discomfort and pain. As
-
we step out there today, desire to be that person
-
for someone else. In Jesus' name, Amen. God bless you
-
for being a part of today's devotion. We still want
-
to stay connected. As here on Radio ACI today, we
-
have carefully selected content for your growth. and for your nourishment.
-
We want to recommend it to others, and we want
-
to join at the same time tomorrow for another edifying
-
time in his presence, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
