Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the First Samuel Bible Study
-
with Matthew and Rachel. It's happening a lot later than
-
it normally does, but due to circumstances, you know, this
-
is the way it is. Before both of us start
-
to fade, before we start sundowning, because it's getting late
-
in the day, We need to jump on here really quick. So...
-
We suggest under such circumstances you eat popcorn.
-
Yeah.
-
So....
-
It is like... It is the diet grain. Popped popcorn
-
is like eating diet food.
-
So....
-
Never mind.
-
Depending on what you put on it. Right.
-
Exactly.
-
So.
-
We made references last week today that this was a
-
big one. Psalm 25 is a big one. It is
-
the end of the miraculously conceived Samuel. That's how this starts. Man,
-
so much here. This is pretty packed. And it doesn't,
-
it's really not about the death of Samuel. That's a
-
side note.
-
No, it's just kind of a side note. No, then
-
Samuel died.
-
But then it makes this great, huge transition. So, anyway,
-
what's your thoughts about this, Rach? I mean, this is
-
a big chapter. This is 44 verses.
-
Obviously talking about Preparing the way for the Christ.
-
For Jesus. Yep. And, wow, what do you make of Abigail?
-
I mean, you're wanting to liken her according to the promises, right?
-
You're wanting to liken her according to Sarah, right? And
-
then you had Rebecca, right?
-
She's the Gentiles, right?
-
Yeah, yes.
-
She was this other guy's husband. But then he died.
-
So she was married before.
-
So she was representing the Gentiles.
-
You could also look at this another way. As far
-
as the bride of Christ, you would liken this to
-
the clergy. Her first husband was the clergy. Anyway, we
-
won't go there. I don't want to make this too
-
difficult for people, but there's all kinds of information here.
-
And take note that in this wilderness place, in this stronghold,
-
is when the sheep get sheared.
-
Okay, so let's go ahead and just start in, because
-
I got a question about the first part.
-
Okay, go for it. Let me finish chewing.
-
Then Samuel died and the Israelites gathered together and lamented
-
for him and buried him at his home in Ramah.
-
And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
-
So what is the meaning of Paran? What do you mean?
-
What is the meaning of Paran?
-
You know, the meaning. What does the name mean?
-
Oh, you mean what is the etymology of the word?
-
Yeah.
-
Well, that's pretty interesting you would say that. A paran
-
here in Hebrew is H6290. It is a particular place
-
in Arabia. It was at the time. But it means
-
an ornament or to glitter. For the end? Well, that's
-
one way to put it, yeah. But that's pretty off
-
the hook that you would ask that right off the bat.
-
So yeah, it means ornament, ornamental. And God literally says
-
that he's going to adorn us on his garment. He
-
literally comes out and says that. So anyway, yeah, good
-
stuff to start out. So why don't you just continue on?
-
So before we start, I wanted to... Something made me
-
think of this. And I know it's not the only
-
movie that does this, but like.
-
You know Vin Diesel, The Pacifier? I don't know if
-
you even watch that because you don't like comedy movies, but.
-
I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
Well, anyways, he's like a government agent there, sent there
-
to protect this family or whatever. Anyways, the bad guys
-
are trying to attack them at the end. But in
-
the beginning, there was this little song that the littlest...
-
So he was... The littlest child in the family so
-
he was there with all the kids so it's kind
-
of a comedy the whole time that it was also
-
like there was action and So there was this song
-
that he had to learn because the one little kid
-
wouldn't go to sleep unless he's saying a song Okay,
-
there was motions to it Well at the end of
-
the movie he realized the song was a code to
-
get into this safe room and that was inside the
-
house that nobody knew about, that the kid's dad had
-
taught them, but they didn't know that it was the
-
code until the end when they needed it. So this
-
reminds me a lot of prophecy that, you know, back
-
when the Pharisees and the scribes and everyone before Jesus came,
-
They knew all these scriptures, but they didn't know.
-
How important they were.
-
They didn't know what the real reason why they needed
-
to know these was until Christ came.
-
Until he came, yeah.
-
And so that's what this reminded me. I don't know
-
why I just happened to think of that movie. I
-
know it's a secular movie. I can't even remember if
-
there was anything bad in it that I was supposed
-
to be watching. I don't think there was.
-
Well, let me do this for you. So, I mean,
-
take note. So, you know how you would write this chapter, right?
-
How would you write the last verse? You'd go 1
-
Samuel 1 colon what? 44. 44. Yeah, 144. Okay, so
-
you're supposed to know the cadence of this is off
-
those of the miraculous conception.
-
Hmm, okay.
-
So I only said that because you said that. Okay,
-
so with that in mind, we better start getting reading.
-
So please continue.
-
Now there was a man in Mayon whose business was
-
in Carmel. and the man was very rich. He had
-
three thousand sheep and a thousand goats, and he was
-
shearing his sheep in Carmel. The name of the man
-
was Nabal, and the name of his wife was Abigail.
-
And she was a woman of good understanding and beautiful appearance,
-
But the man was harsh and evil in his doings.
-
He was of the house of Caleb. So this is
-
where he was sharing the sheep. So you're saying if
-
we were comparing this to what the Pharisees were doing
-
to the people in that time when Christ came, they
-
were literally... Shearing all the wool off the sheep. They
-
were taking from their own people.
-
That's what Ezekiel 34 says.
-
And being harsh and cruel to them.
-
Yes. Literally, Ezekiel 34 was being fulfilled in them.
-
And I know this is the English translation of the
-
name and everything. But I couldn't help but see the
-
play on words.
-
Nabal.
-
Abel, so he's the negative Abel.
-
You are incredible, you know that? Um, that's, um, that's
-
pretty incredible there. Um, I'm not going to add to
-
that or take away from it. Um, I mean, this
-
is just too packed to do any of those things, but, uh,
-
Take note. Okay. So I'm going to bring this to
-
light so you understand these ratios. So what was he doing?
-
He was shearing his sheep.
-
How many sheep?
-
A thousand. No.
-
Or 3,000.
-
Sorry.
-
3,000.
-
3,000 goats.
-
Was he shearing the goats too or just the sheep?
-
Can you let me ask the question? Because that's the question.
-
Okay.
-
So you don't shear goats.
-
Oh yeah, that's true.
-
So the goats were just hanging out. That's the whole point. Okay.
-
So prophetically, you need to understand there's 10,000 reasons why
-
Jesus Christ kept likening us to sheep. And during the
-
birth pangs, you all need to be aware of this.
-
The goats won't be they won't be in the process
-
of being sheared okay but they'll certainly be there with
-
you right so anyway um now why did it say
-
he was of the house of.
-
Caleb of the house of Caleb oh I don't know
-
why did it say that I saw that but I
-
don't know why okay Caleb and Joshua was the ones
-
that scouted out the promised land and they were the
-
two that didn't, you know, weren't scared and didn't take off.
-
Well, Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he gave a share
-
among the children of Judah according to the commandment of
-
the Lord of Joshua, namely, Kareth Arba, which is Hebron, Arba,
-
the father of Anak. Um, this is pretty well saying
-
that Caleb was not, he was not of the tribe
-
of Judah. He wasn't of the tribe, he wasn't a Jew. Okay?
-
So yeah, I know that's just an off-handed thing there,
-
but it's important.
-
Okay?
-
It is important that Caleb is mentioned.
-
Because that reinforces what I said earlier that Abigail was
-
a that represented the Gentiles.
-
Yes, absolutely. And that's how it is.
-
In the allegory. If we're looking at this as an allegory.
-
If we're looking at this as if it's a parable. Yes.
-
All right, continue on.
-
When David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing
-
his sheep, David sent ten young men, Go up to Carmel,
-
go to Nabal, and greet him in my name. And
-
thus you shall say to him who lives in prosperity,
-
Peace be to you, peace be to your house, and
-
peace to all that you have. Now I have heard
-
that you have shearers, the shepherds, here with us. And
-
we did not hurt them, nor was there anything missing
-
from them all the while they were in Carmel. Ask
-
your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore, let
-
my young men find favor in your eyes, for we
-
come on a feast day. Please give whatever comes to
-
your hand to your servants and to your son David. So,
-
my young man and your young man, who does this represent?
-
Who do you think it represents?
-
Well, I was thinking 144,000. But is there an anti-144,000? Well,
-
what's the 144,000 going to do? They're going to rule
-
and reign with him. The clergy. Once again, the clergy. Okay.
-
I mean, they literally say right now they're ruling and
-
reigning for Jesus Christ. I mean, in blasphemy they say that,
-
but that is what they say.
-
Okay? So when David's young men came, they spoke to
-
Nabal according to all these words in the name of
-
David and waited. Then Nabal answered David's servants and said,
-
Who is David and who is is the son of Jesse.
-
There are many servants nowadays who break away each one
-
from his master.
-
Shall I then.
-
Take my bread and my water and my meat that
-
I have killed for my shearers and give it to
-
men when I do not know where they are from?
-
So David's young men turned on their heels and went back.
-
And they came and told him all these words. Then
-
David said to his men, Every man gird on his sword.
-
Let's get it on.
-
So every man girded on his sword. And David also
-
girded on his sword. And about 400 men went with David.
-
And 200 stayed with the supplies.
-
Boy, we keep getting numbers, don't we?
-
Yep, we keep getting numbers. This sounds to me like
-
the wrath of God when When Jesus came down to earth,
-
he's like, you know, you can either do this or
-
I'll settle up.
-
Yeah, let's settle up. So anyway, well, so take note
-
that the whole thing he said was one great big lie.
-
Let's talk about what Nabal actually said. He said, who
-
is David and who is the son of Jesse? Okay. Obviously,
-
he knew because he said that David, that's the son
-
of Jesse.
-
Okay.
-
Everything that comes out of his mouth is for contempt. That's,
-
I mean, he's making sure that you know. Okay.
-
But he considers David nothing.
-
Yes. He considers him less than nothing and Jesse. They're worthless.
-
So anyway, and blatantly said, because he knew David's son
-
of Jesse, he knew they were of the tribe of Judah.
-
They knew, don't be misled, Nabal knew exactly, exactly the
-
promises given to Abraham. Knew exactly the promises that that
-
Moses spoke in, you know, the blessings of Moses in
-
Genesis chapter 49. Everybody knew this was literally spitting on
Genesis 49 chapter mention
-
the Messiah himself.
-
What's that verse? What is his name and what is
-
the name of his son?
-
What is that verse? What do you mean?
-
That says that. What is his name and what is
-
the name of his son?
-
Where is that found? Oh, you mean... I can't recall
-
off the top of my head. I'm thinking about this.
-
Okay.
-
But that just reminded me... Anyway, let's get back to this, okay?
-
Okay.
-
Nabal was... Okay. I already told you that Nabal was
-
from Caleb and Caleb was in Judah. He said this
-
for a reason. I am part of the non-Jews That
-
God has forced into Judah. He was literally smacking him
-
across the face. Do you understand? That's why I told you.
-
That Caleb was not a Jew. And he was given
-
a portion in the tribe of Judah. So literally Nabal
-
was spitting on him. In every way shape and form
-
he could. And David was like. He's a dead man.
-
Let's go settle up.
-
Right.
-
So now you understand that. David really was of the
-
tribe of Judah.
-
Right.
-
Really was supposed to be in the land of Judah,
-
here is Nabal, someone who was not a Jew, and
-
was occupying the land of Judah, spitting in the face
-
of someone who was. Now, you're not going to hear
-
this from a preacher. A preacher's not going to point
-
all this out to you. I mean, this is literally
-
Ezekiel 34 fulfilled. We're literally talking about the enemies of
-
God that have taken over control of his church. That's
-
literally what Nabal was saying. Now, Nabal is over Abigail.
-
And I said already, this is... parabolically, which parabolically means prophetically,
-
is talking about the bride of Christ. So, that's why
-
all this, that's why verses 10 and 11 is an
-
outright slap to all messianic prophecies. I mean this is
-
pretty serious.
-
So.
-
So David's like. Every man gird his sword. Oh man.
-
And David also girded his sword. Praise God. Let's rat
-
out these God haters. Let's put an end to this
-
son of a gun. So anyway. You're getting a call.
-
No I am. Better get it. So anyway. Know and
-
understand this is what this all is in effect. And prophetically,
-
Nabal is a perfect representation of what happens when the
-
man of sin makes his transition into the son of perdition. Okay?
-
That's what this is talking about. This is why Nabal
-
was from Caleb and Nabal had his, it was a false,
-
I mean, it wasn't a true inheritance. He wasn't a Jew,
-
but he was assigned land in Judah because of Caleb's faithfulness.
-
Caleb was one of the witnesses, people. Let me say
-
that again. Caleb was one of the two witnesses, Joshua
-
and Caleb, that went in spite of the promised land.
-
This is perfectly, this is categorically giving you parabolic information
-
about who you call the Antichrist. That's beside the point,
-
what he's called. The Bible calls him the beast from
-
the earth, but this is a perfect representation of him
-
in every way, shape, and form. So, this is pretty incredible.
-
If you've never heard 1 Samuel chapter 25, preached from
1 Samuel 25 chapter mention
-
the pulpit from a parabolic perspective of prophecy, you never
-
understood what it meant. The enemies of God would have
-
never pointed out to you that, yeah, this was somebody
-
that had an inheritance in Judah but wasn't a Jew.
-
They'll never tell you that. They'll never bring up the
-
numbers here. They'll never bring up the goats. They'll never
-
point it out that he said, he specifically said, he
-
was shearing a sheep. There were 3,000 sheep and 1,000 goats.
-
Have you ever heard it said, ever? Have you ever
-
heard it said from the pulpit, hey, what were the goats,
-
why were the goats mentioned? This got me in a
-
lot of trouble. When I was in Old Testament II
-
in an institution of higher learning, a Christian institution of
-
higher learning, I brought this up. Hey, why is the
-
goat mentioned? Professor had no idea.
-
Okay, I'm back. It was a cupcake emergency.
-
It was a cupcake emergency.
-
Really? Well.
-
Okay, so I have said what I'm going to say.
-
Why don't you continue reading? Verse 14. Okay.
-
Now, one of the young men... There's going to be
-
a lot of numbers coming up. Now, one of the
-
young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Look, David sent
-
messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, and he
-
reviled them. But the men were very good to us,
-
and we were not hurt, nor did we miss anything,
-
as long as we were as kind. as long as
-
we accompanied them when we were in the fields. They
-
were a wall to us both night and day. All
-
the time we were with them keeping sheep. Now therefore,
-
no one consider what you will do. For harm is
-
determined against our master and against all of his household.
-
For he is such a scoundrel that no one, that
-
one cannot speak to him.
-
So, take note. So here we begin. So, which one
-
of the young men? Right?
-
Well, it's not one of the young men that David sent.
-
It's one of the other young men. So it's one
-
of Nabal's young men. One of Nabal's young men.
-
Just wanted to point that out. That one of the
-
young men, he's trying to point out to you young
-
men here pretty significantly, right? It was a young man,
-
not of David's. It was a fellow young man of
-
Naples that saved him, because by God, David was going
-
to wipe these scumbags from the faith of the earth,
-
praise God. He was going to wipe them out. So
-
he was going to take care of this.
-
Unrighteous occupier of Judah, he's going to wipe the slate clean.
-
I've got to say, it probably symbolizes John the Baptist.
-
You think? That's what I think. Yeah, this young man's important. Yes,
-
this young man's important. So anyway, your thoughts about that?
-
Or you can continue reading.
-
Well, there's something with the wall, but I think that's
-
for another time. Talking about the wall. They were a wall, too.
-
They were a wall around them. Just their mere presence
-
was commanding. No one dare touch these sheep shears. No
-
one dare. Not a wolf, not a.
-
Lion, not a... Not a serpent, not a scorpion.
-
Not a thief.
-
Nothing, nobody. Yes, that is extremely important.
-
They felt very safe.
-
Yes, they were safe. It was more than what... He
-
said they were secure. There's a difference between feeling safe
-
and being.
-
They couldn't have been safe. No.
-
Because God himself was surrounding them.
-
Yeah.
-
So, anyway, pick it back up, Rich.
-
Then Abigail made host. Made haste. I'm thinking about if
-
she's being a hostess. Then Abigail made haste, took 200 loaves.
-
Here we go again.
-
Two skins of wine. Five sheep already dressed. five seas
-
of roasted grain, and 100 clusters of raisins, and 200
-
cakes of figs, and loaded them on donkeys.
-
Yep. And she said to her servant, Donkeys.
-
And she said to her servants, go on before me. See,
-
I am coming after you. But she did not tell
-
her husband Nabal. So she took stuff that wasn't hers
-
to give. To give to David.
-
Well, I mean, he was her.
-
And he... She knew that if he knew, he was
-
going to stop her, right? Yeah.
-
And everybody knew they were getting ready to die.
-
Yeah.
-
Yeah. So, anyway, you realize she is mimicking, she's mimicking,
-
she's mimicking what happened between Jacob and Esau. Remember when
-
Jacob was coming back and he sent the present ahead
-
of him? So Esau come across all these presents first
-
before he actually got to Jacob.
-
Remember?
-
So she knows what she's doing. Okay. She knows I
-
better make a buffer and get him thinking another way
-
because he's coming here to exterminate us. Praise God. He's
-
going to exterminate them. So Anyway, with that on mind,
-
go ahead.
-
So it was, as she rode on the donkey, that
-
she went down under cover of the hill. What? What
-
does that even mean? She went down. under cover of
-
the hill and there were David and his men coming
-
down toward her and she met them. Now David had said,
-
surely in vain I have protected all that this fellow
-
has in the wilderness so that nothing was missed. of
-
all that belongs to him, and he has repaid me
-
evil for good. May God do so, and more also,
-
to the enemies of David, if I leave one male
-
of all who belong to him by morning light.
-
By morning light. Okay, so this, of course, is talking
-
about twilight, the former twilight. And remember, the day begins
-
at sundown. So it's saying the twilight after the night.
-
And he said one male. He didn't care if it
-
was a toddler. He's going to exterminate them. So anyway,
-
I mean, David don't lie. And remember that David has
-
a heart after God's own heart. That's what the word says.
-
I don't care what the clergy says. So he's... He
-
saw red. And he was going to make red.
-
He literally wasn't. He was not in his right mind here.
-
He was in a rage.
-
Yeah, he was in a rage. And wrath of God
-
was coming down that hill. It was literally the wrath
-
of God.
-
Yep.
-
So anyway, so Abigail knows I better be stationary. So
-
there is a hill Between the residents. And the wilderness.
-
And she knows this hill. She knows instinctively. By God.
-
David is coming off the rails. He's not going around
-
a mountain. He's making a beeline. She knows that.
-
So.
-
She wants to be at the bottom of the hill.
-
When he comes up over it. She doesn't want to
-
be moving. She wants to be stationary. And David knows.
-
That he can just stampede right over her. That's what
-
she's expecting. That's why she stays spot. She stays still.
-
And because David has already had this wave of gifts,
-
David obviously don't care. He's coming anyway. So, very prophetic. So,
-
not going to one day buy morning luck. This is endgame.
-
This is endgame right here.
-
And all this with the donkey.
-
It's all parabolic. This is all solid, 100% prophecy.
-
You know, Balaam's donkey, Christ riding in on the donkey.
-
Yes.
-
All of the above.
-
Now when Abigail saw David, she dismounted quickly from the donkey,
-
fell down on her face before David, and and bowed
-
down to the ground. So she fell at his feet
-
and said, On me, my Lord, on me, let this
-
iniquity be. And please let your maidservant speak in your
-
ears and hear the words of your maidservant. So this
-
just reminds me of Christ. You know, she didn't do
-
anything wrong, but she's like.
-
She is literally laying down her life. She's telling him
-
that he can trample her.
-
Please let not the Lord, please not let my Lord
-
regard this scoundrel Nabal. For as his name is, so
-
is he. Nabal is his name and folly is with him. Okay,
-
so what does his name mean?
-
It means folly. Nabal means folly. Okay.
-
But I, your maidservant, did not see, did not see
-
the young men of my Lord whom you sent. Now therefore,
-
my Lord, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives,
-
since the Lord has held you back from coming to bloodshed,
-
from avenging yourself with your own hand, now then, let
-
your enemies and those who seek harm for my Lord
-
be as Nabal. And now, This present which your maidservant
-
has brought to my Lord, let it be given to
-
the young men who follow my Lord.
-
Once again, she makes sure to put in their young men.
-
Please forgive the trespass of your maidservant, for the Lord
-
will certainly make for my Lord. an enduring house, because
-
my Lord fights the battles of the Lord, and evil
-
is not found in you throughout your days. Yet a
-
man has risen to pursue you and seek your life,
-
but the soul of my Lord shall be bound in
-
the bundle of the living life. With the Lord your God.
-
What is that all about?
-
Oh, keep reading. It gets better.
-
And the lives of your enemies he shall sling out
-
as from the pocket of a sling. What? What is this?
-
They're going into the outer darkness, baby, kicking and screaming.
-
What about bound in the bundle?
-
Bound in the bundle.
-
Mm-hmm. So you know that you don't, is that the
-
swaddling clothes?
-
Well, don't you remember the, the, the prophecy where Jesus
-
Christ said, I'll gather the wheat into bundles and put
-
them in my barn and the rest off.
-
Oh, okay.
-
Okay. So, but yes, what you're talking about too, look, man,
-
there's so much information here. It's off the rails. Okay.
-
Let's do this. Um, Now you need to go ahead
-
and finish this. Go ahead and read till 32. Then
-
I'll tell you more.
-
And it shall come to pass when the Lord has
-
done for my Lord according to the good that he
-
has spoken concerning you and has appointed you ruler over
-
Israel that this will be no grief to you nor
-
offense of heart to my Lord either that you have
-
shed blood without cause, or that my Lord has avenged himself.
-
But when the Lord has dealt well with my Lord,
-
then remember your maidservant.
-
Oh, man. Holy cow.
-
What are those little things that they, those little instruments
-
they use to detect radiation.
-
Geiger counter?
-
So, like, if the prophecy level was compared to a
-
Geiger counter, like, it would just be, like, going off
-
like crazy right now.
-
So, did you pick up on how it said scoundrel
-
here in this version? She called Nabal a scoundrel. That's
-
not what it says in Hebrew. In Hebrew, it says
-
son of. Oh, yeah.
-
We're back to son of Bilal. Bilal. Whatever.
-
Yeah, very hard to pronounce.
-
Yeah.
-
So all of you know about when this is talked
-
about in the New Testament, right? There can be no
-
accord between Christ and Bilal, right?
-
Yeah.
-
This is saying this was a son of.
-
It was saying it was a son of....
-
He worshipped a demon.
-
That is to say, when you see that in the
-
New Testament, it's talking about Nabal and David. It's talking
-
about the difference between Nabal and David. So.
-
This is so incredibly parabolic. It's crazy. I mean, you
-
realize we could do an hour just on the alphanumerics here.
-
Just on that.
-
On the numbers.
-
Just on the numbers.
-
Like I'm saying, this is for another study. Like this
-
is for the next level study. Because this is basically
-
a 102 study. It's not 101. It's 102, but this
-
is like the advanced graduate level. I mean, you're talking
-
advanced graduate level stuff. This is like.
-
And Abigail says something next level. Here, let me read this.
-
But when the Lord has dealt well with my Lord.
-
So when God remembers you, then you remember me. And
-
David's like, do you have any idea what you're asking?
-
He's like, what?
-
He's talking, she's talking about Jesus. She just doesn't know
-
she's talking about Jesus.
-
She has no idea. She doesn't know that. And David
-
does know.
-
And it shall come to pass. The Lord has done
-
for my Lord. She's talking about. Our father in heaven.
-
Has done for Jesus. According to all the good. He
-
has spoken concerning you. And has appointed you ruler over Israel.
-
In that day.
-
In the day. Right. The great day of the Lord.
-
That this will be. No grief to you. Nor offense
-
to you. My Lord, either that you have shed blood
-
without cause, shed his blood without cause. So this is
-
talking about that verse that you read before, talking about
-
he who continues to sin willfully is talking about Christ's sacrifices,
-
something common. This is talking about this.
-
Right. So anyway, let me point this out. I'm going
-
to read one verse. What just came out of her
-
mouth is just like this verse. But Jesus said, let
-
her alone. She has kept for this day of my burial.
-
For the poor you will have always, but you will
-
not always have me. And remember, it's in this instance
-
that in other places he said, this woman will always
-
be remembered for what she's done. Where you get this
-
in parabolic prophecy is Abigail. That's what she was What
-
Jesus said of her is what Abigail was asking David
-
to do, and David knew it. He's like, holy cow, man.
-
You don't know what you're asking. The Messiah is coming
-
for me. You know what I'm saying? Just off the
-
rails to digest what is actually going on here. I mean,
-
it's enough to rattle your cage. And it's just, it's
-
just incredible. And it stops David in his tracks. So
-
when God fulfills his promise to me, you want me
-
to remember you. So anyway, it really puts this in context. Okay.
-
If you don't have anything else to say about it,
-
go ahead.
-
Then David said to Abigail, Blessed is the Lord God
-
of Israel who sent you this day to meet me.
-
And blessed is your advice. And blessed are you because
-
you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed
-
and from avenging myself with my own hand. For indeed,
-
as the Lord God of Israel lives, who has kept
-
me back from hurting you unless you had hurried. and
-
come to meet me, surely by morning light no males
-
would have been left to Nabal. So David received from
-
her hand what she had brought him, and said to her,
-
Go up in peace to your house. See, I have
-
heeded your voice and respected your person.
-
Crazy. Crazy. So, you know, wow, I don't even know
-
what to say else about this. I mean, this is
-
just off the hook incredible. So, Abigail has been granted
-
her wish. Holy crap, man. Why does nobody ever talk
-
about this? Yeah.
-
She didn't even know what she was asking.
-
She had no idea. She had no conceptual. She had
-
no way to calculate the math what she was asking.
-
But David did. David did know what she was asking.
-
Because he was God's anointed. He had the Holy Spirit
-
before it was a thing.
-
Yes, before it was a thing. So anyway, because of her,
-
God does avenge David instead of David avenging himself. So
-
now the promise is quadruply magnified. God says, I am
-
the avenger. I will avenge. That's what happens next. So
-
go ahead, buddy.
-
Now Abigail went to Nabal and there he was holding
-
a feast in his house like the feast of a king.
-
And Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was
-
very drunk. Therefore she told him nothing, little or much,
-
until the morning light.
-
Until the morning light.
-
So it was in the morning when the wine had
-
gone from Nabal, and his wife had told him these things,
-
that his heart died within him. And he became like
-
a stone. Why did it say when the wine had
-
gone from him? Why did it say it like that?
-
The wine had gone from him. Was that talking about communion?
-
Rachel, this is You're talking about blasphemy. If you've been
-
born again and you know there's only one sin that
-
cannot be forgiven, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
-
Right.
-
Yeah, that's what it's talking about.
-
So this is talking about the end times when they
-
will blaspheme the Holy Spirit.
-
They will apostatize themselves.
-
Yes, they And then they will become like their hearts
-
will become hard? Yes. Is that what that means?
-
Yes, that's what it means.
-
Then it happened after about 10 days that the Lord
-
struck Nabal and he died. So when David heard that
-
Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the Lord who
-
has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand
-
of Nabal and has kept his servant from evil. For
-
the Lord has returned the wickedness of Nabal on his
-
own head.
-
Now take note, we also need to get other prophecy
-
in here. Okay, this is in reference to the 10
-
days of testing, okay? So it was in the morning
-
that when wine had gone from Nabal, that he and
-
his wife had told him these things, that his heart
-
died within him, and he became like a stone. So
-
he goes into a coma, And after ten days, God
-
strikes him dead. So he lingers for ten days. Okay?
-
I just wanted to point that out. Okay, so.
-
The wickedness of Nabal, he returned it on his own head.
-
So what did Nabal say? What was the curse that
-
he said to the young men? Who is this David
-
and who is this son of Jesse? There are many
-
servants nowadays who break away each one from his master
-
shall I then take my bread and my water and
-
my meat that I have killed for my sheroes and
-
give it to the men who to men when I
-
do not know where they are from. So all of
-
his servants became David's servants.
-
Became all of this.
-
And they and his wife took him more than the
-
bread and the water. Yes.
-
And more importantly, this literally becomes fulfilled. He struck him
-
and he became like stone for 10 days. So what
-
killed him? He died of thirst or hunger? Because for
-
10 days, Nabal didn't eat or drink nothing.
-
Well, you can go 10 days without eating, but you
-
can't go 10 days without drinking anything.
-
What makes a hangover? Dehydration. All drunks know that if
-
you get a two liter of water or something and
-
drink it before you pass out, you won't have the
-
heavy headache. The headache is from dehydration.
-
Yeah, but you still wouldn't have lived 10 days, because
-
I think you can only do, oh, three days.
-
So anyway, so now you know that this is, in
-
every way, shape, and form, this is fulfilled, that he
-
went 10 days without eating.
-
He was basically catatonic.
-
Praise God. Yes.
-
Skip the tonic. Yep. All right.
-
So you're going to finish it up.
-
And David sent and proposed to Abigail to take her
-
as his wife. When the servants of David had come
-
to Abigail at Carmel, they spoke to her saying, David
-
sent us to you to ask you to become his wife.
-
Then she arose, bowed her face to the earth and said,
-
Here is your maid servant, a servant to wash the
-
feet of the servants of my Lord.
-
I told you. I told you before it happened.
-
So Abigail rose in haste and rode on a donkey
-
attended by five of her maidens. And she followed the
-
messengers of David and became his wife. David also took
-
Ahinoam of Jezreel, and so both of them were his wives.
-
But Saul had given Michal, his daughter, David's wife, to Palti,
-
the son of Laish, who was from Galen. What does
-
Ahinoam have to do with anything?
-
What do you mean?
-
Ahinoam of Jezreel. Like, why did he do that? Like,
-
was that another... Is that another woman that was there
-
in the group? What was that all about? Why does
-
it say that? Why did it say that? What did
-
that have to do.
-
With the story? Well, we'd have to do a deep
-
dive on all of that, right? Jezreel. Minimum. So, wow.
-
unfortunately it's been a long day.
-
And Hinoam was also the same name as Saul's wife.
-
But that couldn't have been the same person.
-
Um, um, so anyway, um, I mean, you had to
-
spill the beans there, right? You had to spill the beans.
-
I mean, why? And I tried to stop you and
-
you just wouldn't stop. Um, And the name of Saul's
-
wife was Ahinoam. So David just did this two birds
-
with one stone, didn't he? He not only did this to.
-
Nabal, honey, he did it to King Saul. Because now
-
relatives of King Saul's wife has become David's wife.
-
What? That means they're sisters or something?
-
Same family. Okay. Yeah, so anyway, and you got that
-
with the washing, right? What did Abigail say? Washing of
-
the feet. Does this not take you all the way
-
to the alabaster jar when.
-
Not the alabaster jar when Jesus washed the disciples' feet.
-
That, yes, that too, yes. It's off the hook. This
-
is literally one great big riddle. It's one great big parable.
-
But it really happened. All right. It's been a long day.
-
I could go on and on and on. I mean,
-
I could literally go on without ceasing about this chapter.
-
There's so much prophecy here. It's ridiculously redundant. If you
-
can't see it, you're blind as a bat. And you
-
don't want to see it. So... I mean, I could
-
do probably a couple hours just on the alphanumerics in
-
this chapter.
-
But bats can still hear. They have really good hearing. Yes,
-
they do. So if you're blind as a bat, maybe
-
you'll hear something from the Lord.
-
How did you know that's what I meant? Okay. All right, everybody.
-
That being said, until next time, God bless.
-
Godspeed.
