  1. Now we want to hear God's word.

  2. Shall we stand as we read it from Genesis chapter 28, verse 10 to 19.

    Genesis 28:10–19

  3. The Bible says this.

  4. Jacob left Bathsheba and set out for Haran.

  5. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set.

  6. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.

  7. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

  8. There above it stood the Lord, and he said, I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham, and the God of Isaac.

  9. I will give you, and your descendants the land on which you are lying.

  10. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you'll spread out to the west and to the east, and to the north, and to the south.

  11. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.

  12. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land.

  13. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.

  14. When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.

  15. He was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God.

  16. This is the gate of heaven.

  17. Early the next morning, Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.

  18. Then he called that place Bethel.

  19. Though the city used to be called Luz.

  20. And this is the word of the Lord, and God's people said, please be seated as I pray briefly.

  21. Heavenly Father, we thank you.

  22. We give you the glory, we give you the praise.

  23. The Lord, as we hear your word from this platform, going on our online platform, going in the various spaces in church, pavilion, here and anywhere, that God, your name will be glorified.

  24. We thank you that this month we are talking about the liberating power of the word.

  25. And we want to declare that this word indeed is a powerful word that liberates every one of us.

  26. We want to thank you for a moment of worship, a time we have lifted praises to your throne.

  27. And now, Lord, as we receive the word from that throne, may our hearts be open, may our ears hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us today.

  28. We want to give you thanks and we give you praise.

  29. Praying this in faith and thanksgiving.

  30. In Jesus' name and gossip, amen.

  31. As I share, I just brought some books up here so that I could remind us in this last quarter of the year.

  32. Maybe you have not visited our resource center, our bookshop here at the Mazal.

  33. And there are a couple of books that you can find.

  34. There are more than these, but maybe these ones you may not have read, especially for some of our visitors.

  35. We have one called The Rivers That Flow.

  36. Book that I wrote has quite a number of my testimonies in it, just showing that God is flowing and the testimonies come.

  37. Then there's a book for leaders.

  38. It's called Inspiring Leaders.

  39. And you're sitting next to a leader.

  40. So look at around and just tell your neighbor, you're sitting next to me.

  41. Hallelujah.

  42. So this book is a very good one, and you are looking like inspired leaders.

  43. The other book is about marriage.

  44. It's called Marriage with a Purpose.

  45. And maybe you'd like to find out if you're already married, you'd like to want to find out, are you still on that purpose?

  46. If you're not married, do you want to find the purpose?

  47. If you've jumped out of your marriage, do you want to find the purpose?

  48. But it is a very encouraging book.

  49. The last one is a devotion we did, especially for this year, Jubilee.

  50. It's called The Divine Frequencies at 50.

  51. It is my prayer that if you have not gotten this copy, get one.

  52. But the challenge also I want to give us because we want to put in the hands of five of 300 pastors this book.

  53. In the morning, I shared about it and I said, if you want to get involved, either you purchase the book and take it to that pastor or just find a way so that we can get 300 books to 300 pastors.

  54. And we want to thank God that we're going to do that between now and December 31st.

  55. And some of them are your pastors in shags, and we'd like to get this resource into their hands.

  56. So please pray with us that we'll be able to reach 300 pastors with this book.

  57. Many pastors in Nairobi are so resourced, but pastors outside Nairobi sometimes don't have these resources, and we'd like to reach out to them from Parklands Baptist Church.

  58. So please put that in mind as we engage and as we reach out.

  59. Today I want to talk about open heavens.

  60. Tell your neighbor, open heavens.

  61. And I want us to know because the story we talked about was Jacob and he experienced an open heaven.

  62. And I want you to know that the heavens are still open.

  63. I'm saying the heavens are still open.

  64. And God speaks through those heavens.

  65. Every time the heavens were opened, God spoke.

  66. For Jacob, there was an open heaven.

  67. For Jesus, there was also an open heaven.

  68. Let me read that in Matthew chapter 17.

    Matthew 17 chapter mention

  69. There was an open heaven for him.

  70. And the Bible says this after six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

  71. There he was transfigured before them.

  72. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

  73. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah talking with Jesus.

  74. Peter said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here.

  75. If you wish, I will put up three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

  76. While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is my son, whom I love.

  77. With him am well pleased.

  78. Listen to him.

  79. The heavens were open, and God spoke.

  80. The other one is the disciples, experienced an open heaven.

  81. Let me read that in Acts chapter 1, in verse 9.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  82. The Bible says this when Jesus was lifted up to heaven, the heavens were open.

  83. It says, After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

  84. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.

  85. Men of Galilee, they said, Why do you stand here looking into the sky?

  86. This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

  87. Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem and they started a prayer meeting after that.

  88. So the heavens were open and they received a message.

  89. In Acts chapter 9, the Bible says this.

    Acts 9 chapter mention

  90. Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lost's disciples.

  91. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

  92. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

  93. He fell to the ground and had a voice say to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

  94. Who are you, Lord?

  95. Saul asked, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

  96. He replied, Now get up and go into the city, and you'll be told what you must do.

  97. Every time heaven opens, a word comes through.

  98. God speaks.

  99. And I want to let us know that every time you open God's word, heaven opens.

  100. Every time you open God's word, heaven opens.

  101. And I'm telling you, many of you who gave your lives to Jesus Christ, you know that day that when the word of God reached you, convicted you, and you heard God speak, heaven opened, and you received Christ into your life.

  102. Today we want to zero in into the life of Jacob.

  103. Because Jacob experienced an open heaven.

  104. So let me read those verses again from Genesis 28.

  105. I want to pick it up from again verse 10 as we read it.

  106. The Bible says this Jacob left Bathsheba and set out for Haran.

  107. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set.

  108. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.

  109. Then he had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth with its top reaching to heaven.

  110. And the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

  111. He experienced an open heaven.

  112. But more than that, he experienced God's word.

  113. God's word reached out to him.

  114. At that time, Jacob is running away from his brother Esau.

  115. He's been able to take Esau's blessing over firstborn, and he took it for himself.

  116. And Esau is so upset, he's so angry, he wants to kill this guy.

  117. And Isaac the father says, Hey, don't stay here.

  118. Go to your uncle's place where your mother came from and stay there until Esau's anger cools down.

  119. And then he tells Jacob, Do not marry any of the Canaanite women while you're there.

  120. And so Jacob is running.

  121. He's scared.

  122. He doesn't know where he's going.

  123. He has never been there, but he's going because he's been told to go.

  124. And it is at that time that God steps into his path because God has a plan for Jacob.

  125. Tell your neighbor, God has a plan for you.

  126. You see, God is known as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

  127. Now, Jacob is running, he's not yet been aligned fully to where God wants him to be.

  128. So God appears to him.

  129. The heavens are open, the staircase is going from earth to heaven, angels are ascending and descending, and it is such an amazing dream.

  130. It's an awesome dream.

  131. And I know many of you dream.

  132. I'm saying many of you dream.

  133. Have you ever dreamt that you are in a party and you're eating a lot of food?

  134. In fact, you are at the high table and you're just eating and eating and eating, and then something bad happens.

  135. You wake up and say, Oh, I should dream.

  136. I should go back to the dream.

  137. Usually, and I found this to be true, if you actually went back to sleep, the dream would pick up from where it left.

  138. That's my experience.

  139. In fact, one time I was dreaming while I was in a field and I found some dollars.

  140. So I went and picked those dollars.

  141. When I picked those dollars, next to the dollars were more dollars.

  142. Suddenly the whole field was full of dollars.

  143. I was picking these dollars, I was picking these dollars, I was picking these dollars, and then I was putting them in the bag.

  144. Before I could feel the bag, I woke up and I said, Oh no, no, no, no.

  145. It was just a dream.

  146. And I wanted to go back and sleep so that the dream could continue and become a reality.

  147. But let me tell you this there are dreams you dream because either you slept hungry, there are dreams you dream because you ate a lot, there are dreams you dream because you have just watched a horror movie and you're being chased by a lion.

  148. Hello.

  149. But Jacob had a dream and he saw God.

  150. What a blessing! But more than seeing God, he had God speak.

  151. And there are four things I want to talk about.

  152. And number one, when God spoke, he brought an assurance.

  153. Number two, when God spoke, he brought a breakthrough.

  154. And when God spoke, he gave a confidence.

  155. When God spoke, there was destiny.

  156. And I did this, I lined it up especially for Pastor Simon.

  157. Because Pastor Simon sometimes needs things to be very simple.

  158. So I put them in the order of the alphabet: A, B, C, D.

  159. Because that way Pastor Simon will remember.

  160. So look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor A stands for assurance.

  161. B stands for breakthrough.

  162. C stands for confidence.

  163. And D stands for destiny.

  164. Now, will you forget those things?

  165. Let me start with the first one: assurance.

  166. But before I go to assurance, let me tell you this God speaks, but not many of us are listening.

  167. Not many of us are taking the Bible to read it.

  168. Let me give you something about what the Bible, the benefits of the Bible.

  169. Let me give me that passage in Psalms 19, verse 7 to 11.

    Psalms 19:7–11

  170. Just see the benefits of the scriptures.

  171. It says this the law of the Lord is what?

  172. Is perfect.

  173. What does it do?

  174. It refreshes the soul.

  175. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

  176. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.

  177. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

  178. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.

  179. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.

  180. Then it says this they are more precious than gold, than much pure gold.

  181. They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.

  182. By them your servant is warned.

  183. In keeping them, there is great reward.

  184. Now that's what the Bible says.

  185. But many times we don't read the Bible.

  186. And we found out, Pastor Simon, that many people do not have a physical copy of the Bible.

  187. It is amazing that many Kenyans do not have a physical Bible.

  188. But that should not be stressful to you because the Bible has been put on your phones.

  189. Buana Sifiwe.

  190. One of the apps that has been put on the phones that is very helpful is what we call the U Version Bible.

  191. Because the U Version Bible is not just there, it has many different apps, Bible learning material, and many things.

  192. And if you have never downloaded the U Version Bible, this pastor is saying, do that.

  193. Because it is very helpful for you to read the Bible.

  194. But I want you to know that there are many people who are ignorant of the word of God.

  195. But Parkis, members of Parklands Baptist, are not ignorant.

  196. Look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor we are very wise people.

  197. Tell your neighbor we hear the word of God on a daily basis, and we receive it, and we do it.

  198. When Jacob was running, number one, A, he was looking, he needed assurance.

  199. And so God gave him an assurance.

  200. And this is what God said in verse 13.

  201. There above it stood the Lord, and he said, I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham, and the God of Isaac.

  202. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.

  203. And by the way, God had to repeat this many times.

  204. Said it to Abraham, repeated it to Isaac, and now he's repeating it to Jacob.

  205. And let me tell you this: God will repeat Himself until you get to hear him.

  206. Last year, not last year, this year, we've been celebrating Jubilee.

  207. And Leviticus 25, verse 10 says that we announce Jubilee, we declare Jubilee.

    Leviticus 25:10

  208. And let me tell you this: the blessings of being in the Jubilee season.

  209. So let me read it.

  210. Consecrate the 50th year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants.

  211. It shall be a jubilee for you.

  212. Each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.

  213. But let me show you how God assures us in this season of Jubilee by reading the next chapter, chapter 26.

  214. So Leviticus 26, starting with verse 3, amazing verses.

  215. And this is God assuring us.

  216. He says, See, you are in the Jubilee season, but listen to what I'm saying.

  217. He says this if you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season.

  218. I will send you rain.

  219. I'm saying I will send you rain in its season.

  220. And the ground you the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.

  221. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest.

  222. And the grape harvest will continue until planting.

  223. And you will eat all the food you want and drink all the milk you want.

  224. No, it's not there.

  225. Sorry.

  226. And live in safety in your land.

  227. I like that part.

  228. Pastor Simon, we will live in safety.

  229. Look at the next verse.

  230. I will grant peace in the land.

  231. God is saying to Kenya, I will grant peace in the land.

  232. Why?

  233. He's the God of Jubilee.

  234. He says, I will grant peace in the land.

  235. And you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid.

  236. God is saying, I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.

  237. I receive that for Kenya.

  238. I receive that for Nairobi in the name of Jesus Christ.

  239. That God will remove these beasts from the land, these wild beasts.

  240. One of them is called Ebola.

  241. God is saying, I will rem I will remove these wild beasts from you.

  242. Verse 7, you will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.

  243. And then I like this one.

  244. Dekonjo, five of you will chase a hundred.

  245. And a hundred of you will chase ten thousand.

  246. And your enemies will fall by the sword before you.

  247. He's saying you're going to be victorious.

  248. Verse 9 I will look on you with favor.

  249. You know, sometimes you look at people and you tell them, Don't look at me badly.

  250. Because they're looking at you badly.

  251. But God is saying, I will look on you with what?

  252. Favor.

  253. Right now, God is looking on you with favor in Jesus' name.

  254. I will make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.

  255. You will still be eating last year's harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.

  256. That is God, I'm telling you.

  257. Ah, come on, let's give him a big hand.

  258. And God is saying, I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abore you.

  259. I will walk among you and be your God, and you'll be my people.

  260. And then verse 13 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians.

  261. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads.

  262. Held high.

  263. Look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor, my head is held high.

  264. That's an assurance.

  265. And I'm telling you, God knows that we need that assurance.

  266. One time in Isaiah 41, verse 10, God said, Fear not, for I am with you.

    Isaiah 41:10

  267. Be not dismayed.

  268. I am your God.

  269. I will help you.

  270. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

  271. God needed Jacob to be assured.

  272. And God told him, I'm not leaving you until you come back here.

  273. I will accomplish everything I say until you get back here.

  274. What an assurance.

  275. This is what God's word does.

  276. When you open it, it gives you an assurance.

  277. But quickly, it gives you a breakthrough.

  278. Look at verse 14.

  279. He spoke about this breakthrough.

  280. The Bible says this in verse 14.

  281. And then that statement, and you will spread out.

  282. You will spread out.

  283. I'm talking to somebody here.

  284. You will spread out.

  285. Your breakthrough is here in Jesus' name.

  286. And you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north, and to the south.

  287. And so, for example, if you stay in Kino, when you stand in Kino, say this the Lord will cause me to spread out to the north.

  288. And you can find out how far the north is, and to the east, and to the west, and to the south.

  289. And for sure you'll spread out.

  290. Now, in the New King James Version, it says it differently.

  291. It says this in the New King James Version, which I thought I liked.

  292. He says this.

  293. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth.

  294. And then it says, You shall spread abroad.

  295. Hallelujah.

  296. Hallelujah.

  297. You shall spread.

  298. And for some of us, abroad is what?

  299. Abroad is where?

  300. Kakamega.

  301. We shall spread beyond our borders.

  302. God is going to give you a breakthrough.

  303. God is going to cause you to go beyond the boundaries that hold you.

  304. He says you shall spread abroad to the west, to the east, to the south.

  305. You will go abroad.

  306. I pray that many of us in here in Parkhee, God will give you an opportunity to go to nearly 10 plus countries of Africa in the name of Jesus Christ.

  307. So that you do, you will not know that you don't just sit here and say Kenya is everything.

  308. No.

  309. You find out other countries, then you can come back and say, surely, home is best.

  310. Hallelujah.

  311. Go, go, go to South Africa, go to West Africa, go to Ethiopia, go to spaces, go to Cairo, go, go abroad in Jesus' name.

  312. And then go to Europe, go to Australia, go to the US, go, go, go.

  313. And when you go, find some time to come.

  314. Thank you, Jesus.

  315. God is saying, I'll give you a breakthrough.

  316. Not just a breakthrough in terms of space, but a breakthrough for wisdom.

  317. Your wisdom will increase.

  318. Your skills will increase.

  319. I will take you to the next level.

  320. Favor will increase.

  321. God is saying, I will, I will cause you, I cause there to be a breakthrough.

  322. One of the verses we like with Pastor Simon is Isaiah 54, verse 2.

    Isaiah 54:2

  323. The Bible says this.

  324. If I can read it in the NIV version, it's a beautiful verse.

  325. Spread out.

  326. I like that spread out.

  327. Breakthrough.

  328. It says, Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide.

  329. Do not hold back.

  330. Lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

  331. And then it says, For you will do what?

  332. Spread out to the right and to the left.

  333. Your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.

  334. God is giving you a breakthrough.

  335. I'm saying God is your breakthrough in Jesus' name.

  336. And we have many testimonies, by the way, here in Parkhead.

  337. And Pastor Simon, you know that very well.

  338. Many of our members who are now in the diaspora, many who have gone out there, right now, some of them are watching us online, that God just opened doors for them in ways we could not imagine.

  339. And I'm telling you, this place is a place of breakthrough.

  340. And when people go out, and I enjoy I like that, when people go, the space you left will be filled by somebody else.

  341. Because they will come, be taught, and they'll be sent out in Jesus' name.

  342. So God wants to do a new thing.

  343. I hope somebody is receiving this in their spirit.

  344. Hallelujah.

  345. God is good, and all the time.

  346. So A is for assurance, B is for breakthrough, C is for what?

  347. Confidence.

  348. Then this is what he said in verse 15.

  349. He says, I am with you, and I will watch over you wherever you go.

  350. And I will bring you back to this land.

  351. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you, standing on the promises of God.

  352. You see, let me tell you this the Bible is one book that gives us amazing confidence.

  353. Look at what God told Joshua, ready to do an amazing work.

  354. So God comes to him in Joshua chapter 1, verse 4.

    Joshua 1:4

  355. Now listen to what God says.

  356. God is saying, I'm going to give you territory.

  357. He says, Your territory will extend from the desert of to Lebanon and from the great river, the Euphrates, all the heated country, to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

  358. Then God tells him, No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life.

  359. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

  360. I will never leave you nor forsake you.

  361. Then he tells him this be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I saw to the ancestors to give them.

  362. So be strong and very courageous.

  363. Be careful to obey all the Lord my servant Moses gave you.

  364. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left that you may be successful wherever you go.

  365. Confidence.

  366. When I was in Jamouri High School and I did my phone four exams, I'm telling you, I passed with flying colors.

  367. I passed with flying colors.

  368. I'm saying I passed in flying colors.

  369. Those days they used to grade us.

  370. You either get division one, that is the top.

  371. Division two, division three, and division four.

  372. Division four was just to tell you that the Ministry of Education were very happy that at least you attended school.

  373. Hallelujah.

  374. Now some of those in that with that grade are sitting here.

  375. They're looking at me.

  376. And God has done amazing things.

  377. I went to form five.

  378. I took three subjects that showed me dust.

  379. I took physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

  380. When I reached there, I found out I was not that bright.

  381. Because when I reached there, I found in chemistry a giant called organic chemistry.

  382. Organic chemistry harassed me thoroughly.

  383. I could not put any or any of those things together.

  384. Then in mathematics, I found a guy called calculus.

  385. We were told about things called differential something.

  386. Differential what?

  387. Eo.

  388. You know, deconsum.

  389. I really blame the teachers for making this subject harass us.

  390. They did not explain what differential is.

  391. If you're explaining something differential from a guy who comes from Island, he has no idea what that is.

  392. Calculus.

  393. What is calculus?

  394. I was harassed by calculus.

  395. Physics was better.

  396. I was able to understand a few things.

  397. But I'm telling you, I was saved.

  398. Not only was I saved, I was the seal chair.

  399. And I'm telling you, we would pray in the seal saying, I am the head and not the tail.

  400. I am above and not below.

  401. And you shall be the top only.

  402. Godja calculus to an anenayo.

  403. In maths, when the results came, I got an F.

  404. F, telling you, you have no idea what maths is all about.

  405. In chemistry, I got the immediate neighbor of that F.

  406. Physics, same.

  407. I was planning to go to Kenyatta University.

  408. I saw Kenyatta University evaporating before me so nicely, just went.

  409. And when I was leaving that school, I was so upset, number one, with God.

  410. I was telling God, how can I serve you like as a future all these years?

  411. How can you say in your word, I am the head and not the tail?

  412. And right now I don't know what to tell my dad.

  413. I know some of us blame God for things he never did.

  414. Did God do that exam?

  415. So why are you blaming him?

  416. I was the one who did that exam.

  417. But as I was leaving, God dropped a word.

  418. That's why I'm saying this word is liberating.

  419. This word is awesome.

  420. God dropped a word.

  421. I wasn't listening, but he spoke.

  422. And God said, Jeremiah 29, 11, I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.

  423. Oh, that word came into my spirit.

  424. I was a bit encouraged, not Sana, but but but encouraged because if God's plan was for me to fail, it was okay.

  425. When I reached home, my dad asked me, Ambrose, how did you perform?

  426. I said, Not very bad.

  427. He said, Exactly how did you perform?

  428. So I told him, I did not perform very well.

  429. Do you know what my dad said?

  430. And God needed to use my dad to speak to me.

  431. And my dad, out of nowhere, said, God knows the plants He has for you.

  432. And God repeated something to give me assurance, to know that there was going to be a breakthrough, and to give me confidence that even in this situation, Nita Tuboa.

  433. Let me tell you this, Dekon Joe.

  434. I did my form 6 in 1978.

  435. 78.

  436. In 1988, 10 years later, I was in a plane to America on a full scholarship, going to study in Jesus' name.

  437. Within those 10 years, God was building my confidence.

  438. And God was telling me, Ambrose, you can do it.

  439. You can make it.

  440. Don't look back into your failures.

  441. Just rise up.

  442. If you fail, stand up.

  443. Keep going.

  444. And I went to the US and I succeeded.

  445. I succeeded.

  446. I succeeded so seriously.

  447. I was given some title, Lucas.

  448. I'm telling you, Jesus is a good God.

  449. Amen.

  450. From an F to a cum laud.

  451. That's God.

  452. Let me tell you this.

  453. That confidence comes only from the Word of God.

  454. From the Word of God.

  455. And I'm telling you, if you believe the Word of God, you have confidence to go to an interview and know that no matter what happens, God will take you to the next level.

  456. You have confidence enough.

  457. Young man, when you when you when you propose to a lady, you have confidence enough that when she says yes or no, your help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven.

  458. Enough.

  459. You have confidence.

  460. And God gave this guy confidence.

  461. I says, I am with you, and I will not leave you until I bring you back where you started.

  462. He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.

  463. Between the 10 years, there are many challenges here and there.

  464. But I moved from one stage to the other one.

  465. And God conquered the territories for me to where we are today in Jesus' name.

  466. Amen.

  467. B stands for what?

  468. C stands for what?

  469. D stands for what?

  470. And you see those verses now are verse 16 and 17.

  471. The Bible says, when Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, Surely, the Lord is in this place.

  472. And I was not aware of it.

  473. He was afraid and said, How awesome is this place?

  474. This is none other than the house of God.

  475. This is the gate of heaven.

  476. This guy was standing at destiny, the gates of heaven.

  477. And Pastor Simon, our gate today is Jesus Christ.

  478. Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life.

  479. No man comes to the Father but by me.

  480. Let me show you in this verse, John 10:9.

    John 10:9

  481. In John 10:9, you know, Jesus is the door, he's the gate.

    John 10:9

  482. He says, I am what?

  483. I am the gate.

  484. Whoever enters through me will be saved.

  485. And they will come in and go out and find pasture.

  486. That means they'll find their destiny.

  487. They'll find their destiny.

  488. Jesus said, not Jesus, but it says, if anyone is in Christ, he's what?

  489. A new creation.

  490. Old has passed away.

  491. The new has come.

  492. In Romans chapter 8, verse 28.

    Romans 8:28

  493. This is a verse you know very well, talking about stages of salvation.

  494. Listen to what it says in verse 28.

  495. And we know that in all things, God does what?

  496. Works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

  497. Tell your neighbor, you are not an accident.

  498. Tell your neighbor you are here on purpose.

  499. Look at verse 29.

  500. For those God foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters.

  501. And those he predestined, he also called.

  502. Now note that all these are in the past tense, not future tense.

  503. And those he predestined, he also called.

  504. Those he called, he also justified.

  505. Those he justified, he also glorified.

  506. What then shall we say in response to these things?

  507. If God is for us, who can be against us?

  508. Verse, yes, come on, let's give God a big hand.

  509. This is the God we serve.

  510. Verse 32 says, He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all.

  511. How will he not also along with him, along with him, along with him, graciously give us all things?

  512. Look at the next verse.

  513. Who will bring charge against those whom God has chosen?

  514. It is God who justifies.

  515. Who then is the one who condemns?

  516. No one.

  517. Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life, is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

  518. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

  519. Shall trouble or hardship, persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword, as it is written, for your sake.

  520. We face death all day long.

  521. We are considered sheep to be slaughtered.

  522. But guess what?

  523. No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

  524. Come on, somebody better give our God another big hand.

  525. Hallelujah.

  526. This is called destiny.

  527. Now look at verse 38.

  528. He says this, for I am convinced that neither death, no life.

  529. Now let's say this together.

  530. One to go.

  531. For I am convinced that neither death, no life, neither angels, nor demons, neither the present, nor the future, nor any powers, neither height, no depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

  532. Hallelujah.

  533. The heavens open, and God speaks.

  534. Heavens open, God speaks.

  535. And when God speaks, heavens open.

  536. Let me tell you this.

  537. This is what carried Jacob for 20 years away from his brother.

  538. And by the time he came back to his brother, his brother was already sorted by God.

  539. And they reconciled, and they were able to partner together, and they are the same two guys who are able to bury their father, Isaac.

  540. Let me tell you this.

  541. This month, this coming week, God has amazing things in store for you.

  542. God is saying, I have a I'm assuring you by my word, giving you a breakthrough.

  543. I'm giving you confidence.

  544. I'm giving you destiny.

  545. And God is saying, Will you believe it?

  546. Will you believe my word?

  547. God is a good God.

  548. God is an awesome God.

  549. Hallelujah.

  550. I close with this.

  551. The other day I mentioned about our daughter Lisa, who is in the U.S., and she just graduated.

  552. But now for her to practice nursing, she has to undergo an exam.

  553. And in the morning, I was telling them she had to answer 500 questions.

  554. Martha called me and said, uh-uh.

  555. They were 150.

  556. I said, Polysana.

  557. So now I'm telling you she had to do 150 questions.

  558. Five hours.

  559. So you sit there and you you they're not in one straight line.

  560. You do one, and then another one pops up, and another one pops up, and it will stop when the machine wants to stop.

  561. This lady did that exam.

  562. She told us she was going to do that exam on a Wednesday.

  563. And so, being anxious parents, we engaged into a system of prayer.

  564. That was last week, after Sunday.

  565. So Monday, we were praying.

  566. Praying for success.

  567. Father God, in the name of Jesus, we pray that wisdom is now being downloaded from heaven into Lisa's head.

  568. And any thickness, Jehovah God, sort it out.

  569. She will understand.

  570. Monday we are praying.

  571. Tuesday we are praying.

  572. Wednesday, she's doing the exam.

  573. And we are sitting there saying, you know, ah, she's now doing exam.

  574. That Wednesday, she sends us something that says, Lisa Nyangao has been certified as a registered nurse.

  575. Now we were wondering, she's just done the exam.

  576. Kumbe Lisa did not want us to be anxious, so she had actually done the exam on Monday.

  577. She really wasted our prayers because on Monday.

  578. Tuesday.

  579. We are praying for Wednesday, but she did not want to be anxious.

  580. She did her exam on Monday and she got results the next day.

  581. 24 hours.

  582. Let me Tell you this, God is going to accelerate your success in Jesus' name.

  583. Somebody better receive that.

  584. The God we serve is a God who is able to accelerate your situation in ways you cannot imagine.

  585. Some of you parents, some of your children are doing exams, the primary level exams, later the secondary level exams.

  586. We want to decree and declare that these children will succeed.

  587. In Jesus' name.

  588. And even though some of you parents failed, but you kept telling your friends that you passed, you are number one.

  589. Can you imagine a whole class of parents saying they were number one?

  590. Hello?

  591. And then you tell your children I was number one.

  592. But thank God, even though you had division four, though you failed, the God who had destiny for you has brought you to death.

  593. He is your success in Jesus' name.

  594. And he's taking you to the next level.

  595. And to the next level, and to the next level.

  596. Until you're like Dr.

  597. William Sifona in Jesus' name.

  598. May that be your portion.

  599. So look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor, I have an assurance, I have a breakthrough, I am confident.

  600. And destiny is mine.

  601. And there's nothing the devil can do about it.

  602. In Jesus' name.

  603. Come on, why don't you stand up and then give God a big hand?

  604. Tell him thank you.

  605. Now give him a better hand.

  606. Did you knitter something?

  607. Nitaring means what?

  608. To cut something.

  609. I pray that your tomorrow will be better than your yesterday.

  610. I pray that you this week will be a breakthrough week for you.

  611. And some things will happen for you in 24 hours.

  612. There shall be an acceleration for you in Jesus' name.

  613. In Jesus' name.

  614. It doesn't matter about the failures of the past.

  615. It doesn't matter about the lack of yesterday.

  616. This God who stood by Jacob on the run said, I am the Lord.

  617. I am your God.

  618. And I will be with you when you go until you come back.

  619. He who began a good work in you, he will finish it.

  620. I'm saying he'll finish it.

  621. So don't give up.

  622. Don't look down.

  623. Don't say God has God is never talks to me these days.

  624. Uh-uh.

  625. Find time to read God's word.

  626. Either hard copy or on your phone.

  627. Even if it is one chapter a day.

  628. You know, I read another verse just yesterday, Pastor Simon, and I was very fascinated.

  629. It's about the Jews.

  630. Zechariah chapter 8, verse 23.

    Zechariah 8:23

  631. Let me read that and then I'll pray.

  632. I was very fascinated because this will happen.

  633. It says, This is what the Lord Almighty says.

  634. In those days, ten people from all languages and nations will take their firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.

  635. You know that blew my mind.

  636. Because right now the Jews are persecuted left and right.

  637. But one day, every language of all nations will grab a Jew and say, take me to your God.

  638. But how did I know this verse exists?

  639. Because I read the Bible.

  640. I read the Bible every day.

  641. Every morning I read the Bible.

  642. So yesterday I was in Zechariah.

  643. Today I'm in Malachi.

  644. And then I'll go into the New Testament.

  645. But I read the Bible.

  646. So look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor the bell is ringing to remind you to read the Bible.

  647. Amen.

  648. Are you glad you came?

  649. I'm really excited about this wonderful, amazing team.

  650. Why don't you give them a big hand?

  651. Amen.

  652. And I hear the numbers are growing.

  653. I want to pray.

  654. Pastor Simon will give you the benediction, but I want to bless you.

  655. Again, Dr.

  656. Sifuna, God bless you.

  657. We thank God for all who graduated.

  658. I believe they have carried a word with them today.

  659. And God bless you big time.

  660. Those online, thank you for sticking on and staying on to this point.

  661. Those in the pavilion, thank you for keeping up with this message.

  662. As we are released this afternoon, remember this.

  663. God is with us.

  664. God is with Kenya.

  665. God is with us.

  666. Don't ever forget that.

  667. God is with us.

  668. Remember the books I talked about?

  669. Remember the devotional I talked about.

  670. And let's spend time in the word of God.

  671. In the morning, I was telling the congregation, don't be running around to be prophesied by anybody.

  672. Let God's word prophesy to you.

  673. We have a in Nairobi, we have many, many false prophets.

  674. And many of them are on television.

  675. And you have to pay something to get a prophecy.

  676. And some of you could send money to those people.

  677. In the name of Jesus.

  678. Reading the Bible does not cost you.

  679. God will prophesy to you, and you'll prophesy to yourself, and the heavens will open.

  680. The heavens will be open.

  681. So God bless you.

  682. Tuasema Sante.

  683. Father, we say thank you.

  684. Thank you for bringing us this day to worship with God's people, to fellowship with God's people.

  685. And I want to thank you that every time we worship, there is a word for us.

  686. And this afternoon, you have given us a word.

  687. And in the name of Jesus and the power of God that is in my life, I decree and declare that your people this afternoon are walking out with a divine assurance.

  688. They have an assurance from God that God has not left them, that God is with them.

  689. The God of Abraham and Isaac was with Jacob.

  690. And that same God is with us.

  691. And that's the assurance that we have.

  692. Father, we thank you for the benefit of your word because your word gives us a breakthrough.

  693. And I pray in the name of Jesus this week, there will be suddenly breakthroughs that will happen to God's people.

  694. And for sure, by Wednesday, they will be so shocked that God is a God who means what he says and says what he means.

  695. Somebody better receive that now.

  696. In the name of Jesus Christ.

  697. Yes, Lord.

  698. Yes, Lord.

  699. And dear Lord, you're a God because of what you say and because of your promise, you give us confidence.

  700. The Bible says, some trust in chariots and some trust in horses.

  701. But Father, for us, we shall trust in the name of the Lord our God.

  702. Because it is in that name, it is in that word that our confidence is based upon.

  703. And dear Lord, we thank you that you're a God of destiny.

  704. You're the God who says He works all things together for good to those who love the Lord.

  705. And so, Jehovah God, you have declared that if God is for us, who can be against us?

  706. And so, Lord, we stand today knowing we are children of destiny, we are children of destiny, we are children of destiny.

  707. And Jacob went 20 years later, he was back and he came back with blessings and favor, and he was reconciled back to his brother this afternoon.

  708. Lord, as we are released, by the time we come back on Sunday, we shall come back with testimonies, favor on top of favor, blessing on top of blessing, goodness on top of goodness.

  709. So, Father, we receive everything that is ours this week, and we know that it is not about so and so, it is about God who makes all things possible.

  710. So we receive it, and if you believe it, you better say, I receive it, I take it.

  711. And there is nothing the devil can do about it.

  712. Now you better give God another big hand.

  713. Amen.

  714. Now you better give God a hand that you have just succeeded.

  715. You have just you have just succeeded.

  716. Hallelujah.

  717. Pastor Simon come and this week you will have a testimony.

  718. Receive it in Jesus' name.

  719. Amen.

  720. Join me in appreciating the servant of God.

  721. Thank you.

  722. Thank you.

  723. Thank you for that word in season, God's word, and open heaven.

  724. Hallelujah.

  725. And then four things A B C D.

  726. I will remember easily the four things A B C D Assurance, Breakthrough, confidence, and destiny.

  727. Let's give another hand to Jesus.

  728. Glory to his name.

  729. Thank you, thank you.

  730. And so, like you have proclaimed, uh Reverend Ambrose, the experience of Jacob at Bethel becomes our experience today.

  731. And as we go through the week, just like you've proclaimed, then assurance is our portion, breakthrough is our portion, confidence is our portion, and a mighty destiny is our portion.

  732. Again, if you believe with me, a big hand to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

  733. Hallelujah.

  734. So we appreciate all of you for coming.

  735. Our visitors again.

  736. Thank you very much.

  737. God bless you, Dr.

  738. Sifuna and uh the team of graduates.

  739. Uh, we really bless the Lord for you.

  740. May God grant you a beautiful future in Chaplain Sephok for his glory.

  741. We also appreciate this choir here.

  742. Let's give a hand to Jesus.

  743. Thank you.

  744. God bless you.

  745. This is wonderful.

  746. And the testimony you just gave, Reverend Ambrose, uh, concerning Lisa as a congregation.

  747. I know she probably is following the service in the United States.

  748. As a congregation, we say to Lisa, our daughter, congratulations, congratulations, congratulations.

  749. God bless you.

  750. Agnes Midi, our member, is also sent a testimony here.

  751. Uh, Agnes Midi Kata.

  752. And I know she's following this service online.

  753. In fact, her mother is in the service, and her son Isaiah is also in the service.

  754. Agnes suffered a heart failure, was admitted at HDU in Agathan.

  755. We thank God right now that she has been moved back to the word.

  756. We bless the Lord.

  757. God is good.

  758. God is good.

  759. The benediction is a priestly one, and just before I come to that, Pastor Regan, you reminded me, we are starting 50 days of Thanksgiving in line with our Jubilee spirit.

  760. This coming Saturday, the 24th of November, we kick off officially 50 days of Thanksgiving, culminating on the 5th of December.

  761. That's the first weekend of December.

  762. Pastor Regan and Magnification Department will guide us step by step how to go about it.

  763. Now, receive the priestly blessing if you can lift your hands to God.

  764. This is what the Lord, the Bible says the Lord bless you, the Lord keep you, the Lord cause his face to shine upon you, the Lord be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you, and the Lord give you peace in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  765. And we all say, we all say, and now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and foremore.
