  9. be blessed. Thank God for this opportunity to

  10. also bring the word to us. Amen. Matthew chapter

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  11. 28. Matthew chapter 28. We're going to continue

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  12. from where we stopped on Sunday. It is God with

  13. us. Right? Matthew chapter 28, verse 18. It says,

    Matthew 28:18

  14. Jesus came and spoke to them saying, All authority

  15. has been given me in heaven and on earth. Go

  16. therefore and make disciples of all nations,

  17. baptizing them in the name of the Father, the

  18. Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to

  19. observe all things I have commanded you, and

  20. lo, I am with you always, even to the end of

  21. the age. Praise the Lord. And on Sunday we establish

  22. that I am with you is a person, praise the Lord,

  23. that God is with us. all the time. Praise the

  24. Lord. God is with us all the time. Mark chapter

    Mark 1 chapter mention

  25. 1, speaking of John the Baptist, Mark chapter

    Mark 1 chapter mention

  26. 1, Mark chapter 1, verse 4. John came baptizing

    Mark 1:4

  27. in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of

  28. repentance for the remission of sins. Then all

  29. the land of Judea and those from Jerusalem went

  30. out to him and were all baptized by him in the

  31. Jordan River, confessing. their sins. And we

  32. said that John deliberately went to the Jordan,

  33. praise the Lord, because it was through the Jordan

  34. that they came to the promised land, praise the

  35. Lord. It was through the Jordan that they came

  36. to the promised land. It was Joshua who took

  37. them to the land, praise the Lord. And we said

  38. that Jesus was given that name to represent what

  39. he came to do, to save his people from sins.

  40. Amen. So he took them to the Jordan to baptize

  41. them. So I said that Jordan is how they entered

  42. into that land, right? And we said that when

  43. they got into that land, right, they thought,

  44. oh, we're going to be free from our enemies.

  45. There will be nothing else to worry about. But

  46. they discovered that there were enemies as well

  47. in the land. Praise the Lord. There was the enemy

  48. of sin. There was the enemies around them and

  49. within them. Praise the Lord. So they were looking

  50. for something else, right? The enemies were there.

  51. So the land was not what was promised, but a

  52. Messiah that is God with us. They were waiting

  53. for a Messiah. And John says that that Messiah

  54. is here. He's pointing to them, right? John was

  55. not pointing them to a land, but he was pointing

  56. them to a person. Praise the Lord. So Jordan

  57. was how they crossed into the land. And John

  58. is saying that the kingdom is here. The Messiah

  59. is here. We are close to it. If I call his name,

  60. remember where we read, if I call his name, what?

  61. Joshua, right? For he will save his people from

  62. their sins. He will save his people from their

  63. sins. And we said that how they were saved, right,

  64. was that they were taken out of the land of Egypt,

  65. that is the children of Israel. They were taken

  66. out and they were taken into the land of promise.

  67. So when John the Baptist came as a messenger,

  68. right, to prepare the way before his face, Exodus

    Exodus 23:20

  69. chapter 23, verse 20. Exodus chapter 23, verse

    Exodus 23:20

  70. 20. Behold, I send an angel, Malek, before you

  71. to keep you in the way and to bring you into

  72. the place which I have prepared. malachi chapter

    Malachi 3:1

  73. 3 verse 1 malachi chapter 3 verse 1 behold i

    Malachi 3:1

  74. send my messenger the same thing right as the

  75. angel there my leg right and he would prepare

  76. the way before me and the lord whom you seek

  77. will suddenly come to his temple even the messenger

  78. of the covenant in whom you delight behold he's

  79. coming says the lord of hosts isaiah chapter

    Isaiah 40:3

  80. 40 verse 3 isaiah chapter 40 Verse three, the

    Isaiah 40 chapter mention

  81. voice of the one, the voice of one crying in

  82. the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord,

  83. make straight in the desert, the highway for

  84. our God. So John came to prepare the way of the

  85. Lord, a voice of one that cries in the wilderness.

  86. Praise the Lord, right? So the land has been

  87. what? Replaced by whom? By the Lord. Praise the

  88. Lord. The thing that they sought to, where they

  89. sought to go to has been replaced by the Lord.

  90. We'll see that in verse 9 of this Isaiah chapter

    Isaiah 40 chapter mention

  91. 40. He talks about, he said, O Zion, you who

  92. bring good tidings, get up into the high mountain,

  93. O Jerusalem, you who bring good tidings. Lift

  94. up your voice with strength, lift it up. Do not

  95. be afraid. Be not afraid, says... Say to the

  96. cities of Judah, behold your God. Praise the

  97. Lord. The land was a parable, like I said, right?

  98. Because the land is God himself. He is our possession.

  99. Behold your God. He is our prized possession.

  100. He is the one that they were looking forward

  101. to. He's the one that they were anticipating

  102. for. Praise the Lord. But then... Is it possible

  103. that somebody can be waiting for something and

  104. they don't know how it looks? Praise the Lord.

  105. They don't know how it looks. Praise the Lord.

  106. We're going to see that very shortly. So God

  107. is their possession. So he's given a name, right,

  108. of a man so that they will know what he's doing.

  109. Praise the Lord. So he was giving that name Jesus

  110. so that they will know what he's doing, his assignment.

  111. Praise the Lord. The name. We said describes

  112. or is descriptive of his function. He's given

  113. the name Jesus. Remember we were talking about

  114. and we said that that name Jesus was a common

  115. name. People bear it today in different parts

  116. of the world, especially in Brazil, right? So,

  117. but what is important about him was that he is

  118. Emmanuel, God with us, that God being with man,

  119. a man like God. Praise the Lord. So he would

  120. deliver his people. Right? From their saints.

  121. Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. Praise the Lord.

  122. So today we'll continue from there. So we see

  123. what Zechariah, the prophecy says, right? It

  124. says in Luke chapter 1. Luke chapter 1, verse

Luke 1 chapter mention Luke 1:68

  125. 68. Luke chapter 1, verse 68. It said, Blessed

    Luke 1:68

  126. is the Lord of Israel. for he has visited and

  127. redeemed his people. Next verse. And has raised

  128. up a horn of salvation for us in the house of

  129. his servant, David. Praise the Lord. Now, verse

  130. 71. That we should be saved from our enemies

  131. and from the hand of all who hate us. Praise

  132. the Lord. So what is he doing? He's saving that

  133. he should be saved from where? From their enemies.

  134. From the hands of those who hate them. Right?

  135. So Jesus has come forward for deliverance. Praise

  136. the Lord. To liberate men. And then we also see

  137. that he says in Matthew, in Mark, right? That

  138. in his name, we will cast out demons. Praise

  139. the Lord. In my name, you will cast out demons.

  140. And if you drink any deadly thing, it will by

  141. no means hurt you. Mark chapter 16, verse 17.

    Mark 16:17

  142. Mark chapter 16. Verse 17. He said, these signs

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  143. will follow those who believe. In my name, they

  144. will cast out demons. They will speak with new

  145. tongues. In my name, they will cast out demons.

  146. They will speak with new tongues. Luke chapter

    Luke 24:47

  147. 24, verse 47. Luke chapter 24, verse 47. He said,

    Luke 24:47

  148. that repentance and remission of sin be preached

  149. in his name. to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

  150. Right? That repentance and remission of sin be

  151. preached in his name to all nations. John chapter

    John 20:31

  152. 20, verse 31. John chapter 20, verse 31. But

    John 20:31

  153. these are written that you may believe that Jesus

  154. is the Christ, the Son of God, that believing

  155. you may have life in his name. Praise the Lord.

  156. You may have life through his name. John chapter

    John 14:12–13

  157. 14, verse 12 to 13. John chapter 14, verse 12

    John 14:12–13

  158. to 13. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes

  159. in me, the works that I do, the works that I

  160. do, he will do also. Greater works than these

  161. he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever

  162. you ask in my name, That I will do, that my Father

  163. may be glorified in the Son. Amen. In the name,

  164. in that name. Praise the Lord. Exodus chapter

    Exodus 6:3

  165. 6 verse 3. Exodus chapter 3, 6 verse 3. I appeared

    Exodus 3 chapter mention

  166. to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty.

  167. But by my name, by my name, Lord, I was not known

  168. to them. Praise the Lord. Exodus chapter 3. 3,

    Exodus 3 chapter mention

  169. verse 14. You see something interesting here,

  170. no? He said, and God said to Moses, I am who

  171. I am, right? Remember, we dealt with this. I

  172. will be what I will be. He said, thus you shall

  173. say to the children of Israel, I am have sent

  174. you, right? That is the person that God has sent

  175. you. I am, we said, is a person. Then Paul tells

  176. us in Philippians chapter 2. So, speaking about

    Philippians 2 chapter mention

  177. unity in the church or among believers. Philippians

  178. 2 .1 -3. Therefore, if there is any consolation

  179. in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship

  180. of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill

  181. my joy. By being like -minded, having the same

  182. love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing

  183. be done through selfish ambition or concern.

  184. But in loneliness of mind, let each esteem others

  185. better than himself. Praise the Lord. Let what?

  186. Esteem others better than himself. So, he's saying

  187. that you should... Look at the interest of others.

  188. Praise the Lord. Which in our generation now,

  189. you know, people like the idea of self -love.

  190. Praise the Lord. Okay, let's not go into that.

  191. So people like the idea of self -love, which

  192. is not the biblical love. Praise the Lord. Self

  193. -love is not the biblical love. Praise the Lord.

  194. Not sharing or not loving one another is not

  195. biblical. Praise the Lord. God's love is to esteem

  196. others better than ourselves. Let's see verse

  197. 4 to 9. Let each of you look out not only for

  198. his own interest, but for the interest of others.

  199. Let his mind be in you which was also in Christ

  200. Jesus. who, being in the form of God, did not

  201. consider its robbery to be equal with God, but

  202. made himself of no reputation, taking the form

  203. of a born servant, coming in the likeness of

  204. man, being found in their appearance as a man,

  205. he humbled himself, being obedient to the point

  206. of death, even death of the cross. Therefore

  207. God has highly exalted him and has... and given

  208. him the name which is above every other name.

  209. He came in the likeness of man, being found in

  210. the appearance of man. Praise the Lord. So we

  211. see, you know, we can also see where this, where

  212. we find, we see the, he's talking about God and

  213. man, right? giving a description of God and man

  214. together. Praise the Lord. Talking about how

  215. Jesus came. Let's go back to verse 7. He said,

  216. He made himself of no reputation, taking the

  217. form of a born servant and coming in the likeness

  218. of man. Praise the Lord. God coming in the likeness

  219. of man. Verse 8. Being found in the appearance

  220. as a man. Praise the Lord. So they found God

  221. like a man. Praise the Lord. He humbled himself

  222. and became obedient to the point of death, even

  223. the death of the cross. Praise the Lord. So it's

  224. not the first time we see the description of

  225. man and God together. Genesis chapter 1 verse

    Genesis 1:26

  226. 26. Genesis chapter 1 verse 26. Then God said,

    Genesis 1:26

  227. let us make man in our image, according to our

  228. likeness. Right? Let him have dominion over the

  229. fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over

  230. the caters, over all earth and over every creeping

  231. thing that creeps on the earth. Let us make man

  232. in our likeness, in our image. Let's make him

  233. in our image, male and female. Who are mankind?

  234. Praise the Lord. But we don't see what Paul was

  235. reflecting here. Let's go back to Philippians

  236. 2. Philippians 2, from verse 9 to 11. Philippians

    Philippians 2:9–10

  237. 2, verse 9 to 10. Therefore God also has highly

  238. exalted him and given him the name which is above

  239. every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee

  240. should bow of those in heaven and those on earth,

  241. of those underneath the earth. That every tongue,

  242. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus

  243. is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Praise

  244. the Lord. Right? He's giving him a name that

  245. is above every other name. Right? That at the

  246. name of Jesus, every knee should bow. Right?

  247. Every knee should bow. So he's not just saying,

  248. just mention, he's not like saying, mention Jesus.

  249. Like I said, it is a common name. Praise the

  250. Lord. But it is in that which Christ has done.

  251. Praise the Lord. It is in that which Christ has

  252. done. It's not just mentioning a name, right?

  253. It's said at the name. Every knee should bow

  254. in heaven and on earth and beneath the earth.

  255. Every tongue should confess what? That Jesus

  256. is Yahweh, is Lord. Right? Jesus is Lord. That

  257. is the word, Yahweh. In the Greek word, it's

  258. Adonai. Praise the Lord. Yahweh, to the glory

  259. of God the Father. To the glory of God. So, where

  260. was Paul writing from? Where was Paul writing

  261. from? Meanwhile, let's read Isaiah chapter 42,

    Isaiah 42:8

  262. verse 8. I am the Lord, that is my name, and

  263. my glory I will not give. to another, nor my

  264. praise to curved images. Praise the Lord. I am

  265. the Lord. That is my name. My glory he will give

  266. to no other. But we were just reading something

  267. in Philippians. He said what? He gave him what?

  268. Go back to Philippians chapter 10. He said, That

  269. at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow.

  270. No, verse 9, where he gave him the name. Okay.

  271. He said, therefore God has highly exalted him

  272. and given him the name, which is above what?

  273. Every other name. He gave him a name, which is

  274. above every other name. But then in Isaiah 42,

    Isaiah 42:8

  275. verse 8, what do we see? Isaiah 42. He said,

  276. I am the Lord, that is my name. My glory I will

  277. not give to another, nor my praise to carved

  278. images. Praise the Lord. He will not what? I

  279. will not give my name, that's what it means,

  280. to another. Praise the Lord. I will not give

  281. my name to another. I am what? The Lord. I am

  282. Yahweh. I will not give my name to another. My

  283. glory I will not give to another. So what Paul

  284. was telling us was, that God gave his glory to,

  285. he gave his glory to Jesus. The father gave it

  286. to Jesus. So let's see where he was reading from.

  287. Isaiah chapter 45, verse 21 to 24. Isaiah 45,

    Isaiah 45:21–24

  288. 21 to 24. Tell and bring forth your case. Yes,

  289. let them take counsel together who I declare

  290. is from the ancient time. who are told it from

  291. that time. Have I not I, the Lord, and there

  292. is no other God beside me? A just God and a Savior.

  293. There is none beside me. Look at me and be safe,

  294. all you ends of the earth, for I am God and there

  295. is no other. I have sworn by myself. The word

  296. has gone out of my mouth in righteousness. and

  297. shall not return that to me every knee should

  298. bow, every tongue should take an oath. He shall

  299. say, Surely in the Lord I have righteousness

  300. and strength. To him men shall come, and all

  301. shall be ashamed who are incensed against him.

  302. Praise the Lord. He said, Unto me every knee

  303. should bow, every tongue. She swear, she take

  304. an oath. My name, I will not give another. But

  305. Paul therefore said that God became what? A man.

  306. And his name is Jesus, Yeshua. Then he gave him

  307. a name, right? And that Yeshua is the very, sorry,

  308. and he gave him the very name of God. Praise

  309. the Lord. He gave him the name of God, right?

  310. We see that he's sharing, God is sharing his

  311. name. with a man, and that man is himself. Praise

  312. the Lord. That man is himself. I remember this

  313. week, I came to this faculty to see one of the

  314. professors, and he was asking one of his students,

  315. apparently he has been asking her a lot of questions,

  316. and part of the question he's been asking is,

  317. how is Jesus God? praise the lord how is jesus

  318. god and going through these studies i was like

  319. okay let me let me be ready the next time i go

  320. back to his office right so that i will know

  321. what to tell him praise the lord so even him

  322. is asking the question how is jesus god how do

  323. you explain that praise the lord he has shared

  324. his name with a man and that man is himself he

  325. said i will share my glory with no order. Right?

  326. But in the resurrection, what did he do? Right?

  327. In the resurrection, what did he do? Right? In

  328. the name of Jesus, that is the name who came,

  329. that is the one who came to die for a sin, he

  330. is God himself. And that every knee should bow

  331. and every tongue should confess that Jesus is

  332. who? Jesus is God. Jesus is the Lord. Yahweh.

  333. So, This is the same one, this is the same Yahweh

  334. who appeared to Moses. This is the same one who

  335. appeared to Abraham. This is the same one who

  336. appeared to Jacob, to the glory of God, the Father.

  337. We also see that Paul writes in 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 8:6

  338. 8, verse 6, Yet for us there is one God, the

  339. Father, of whom are all things, and we for him.

  340. and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all

  341. things, and through whom we live. Praise the

  342. Lord. Where was he reading from? Deuteronomy

    Deuteronomy 6:4

  343. chapter 6, verse 4. Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse

    Deuteronomy 6:4

  344. 4. He said, Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God,

  345. the Lord is one. Praise the Lord. The Lord is

  346. one. The Lord Jesus Christ, the one, and that

  347. is the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom all things,

  348. and by him God has done all things. God has become

  349. a man. He bore a man's name, Yeshua. And what

  350. will he do? He said that he will save his people

  351. from their sins. He will save his people from

  352. their sins. His name is God. His name is God.

  353. When we say at the name of Jesus, right? We are

  354. saying that what? We are saying that Jesus Christ

  355. is God. Praise the Lord. When we say in the name

  356. of Jesus, right? What we are saying is what?

  357. That Jesus Christ is God. He's God. He's the

  358. I am. In the name of Jesus, right? Above all

  359. name. It is the name of God. God is Christ. God

  360. is a son. He bears the name. Yeshua. So we remember

  361. we're talking about that land where John was

  362. pointing them to. He was pointing them to God.

  363. He was pointing them to Yahweh. He was pointing

  364. them to their Messiah. He said, let's go to our

  365. God. That he takes away the sins of the world.

  366. Let's go to God. Let's leave darkness to our

  367. God. That's what he's saying to them. Let's leave

  368. sin and go to God. Let's leave darkness and go

  369. to God. Let's go from ourselves, right? And go

  370. to God. He is the promised land. He is that land

  371. that is promised. He's our precious possession.

  372. Hallelujah. He's our precious possession in the

  373. name of Jesus. So you can write this down. So

  374. Jesus simply means the name of God and all his

  375. promises. The name of Jesus simply means the

  376. name of God and all his promises. The name of

  377. Jesus simply means we are united with God. We

  378. are united with God. Our sins are forgiven, right?

  379. and that God has carried out his promise. He

  380. has carried out which he had promised. Praise

  381. the Lord. He has carried out which he had promised.

  382. So we notice that in Paul's writing, he will

  383. always write and address the people, and we use

  384. words like grace and peace from our Lord Jesus,

  385. or grace and peace from the Father. from God

  386. the Father, praise the Lord, and our Lord Jesus.

  387. We always write and say, grace and peace from

  388. God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. So

  389. we see that throughout his letters, grace and

  390. peace, right, from God the Father and our Lord

  391. Jesus Christ, right? He's not just greeting,

  392. he's not just a greeting, praise the Lord. He's

  393. not just giving a salutation, right? He's declaring

  394. a message, praise the Lord. He's declaring a

  395. message. He's declaring a message. So he also

  396. writes to us, he says, well, to be content with

  397. such things as you have. And he said, for I will

  398. not leave you nor forsake you. The promise of

  399. the Father is God himself. God did not promise

  400. us things. Praise the Lord. He promised us to

  401. give himself, God, with us. is to give himself

  402. to us. So when John goes to the Jordan, he's

  403. saying that God is about to show up. But like

  404. I said earlier, is it possible that people go

  405. to expect something, but they don't know what

  406. it looks like? Praise the Lord. Is it possible

  407. to go in expectation of something, but then you

  408. are disappointed by the package? Praise the Lord.

  409. You're disappointed. by the package. So when

  410. he says them, right, that God is about to show

  411. up, right, the people were disappointed because

  412. he showed up as a man. Praise the Lord. And a

  413. man that they know. Praise the Lord. A man from

  414. where? Galilee of the Gentiles. Praise the Lord.

  415. So they become very disappointed because that

  416. was not their expectation, right, that he would

  417. show up as somebody that they know. or they have

  418. knowledge of. And he's coming from the Galilee

  419. of the Gentiles, of all places. He could come

  420. from every other place, right? But he came from

  421. the Galilee of the Gentiles. He showed up as

  422. a man. And we said that what? He's a man -like

  423. God. He showed up as a man. Praise the Lord.

  424. So they were not expecting that he comes the

  425. way he comes. Right? God becoming a man. So we

  426. see that in the scriptures, he writes a lot of

  427. things about this. In the Synoptic Gospels, Matthew

    Matthew 1:1

  428. chapter 1 verse 1. Matthew chapter 1 verse 1.

    Matthew 1:1

  429. He says what? The book of the genealogy of Jesus

  430. Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

  431. He's just saying the book of the genealogy, right?

  432. It is the genesis of what? Of Jesus Christ. Praise

  433. the Lord. where he came from. Our genealogy is

  434. Genesis. That is the Genesis of Jesus Christ.

  435. We can read the Genesis of Jesus Christ. So in

  436. Genesis, what we have in the beginning was chaos.

  437. What we have in the beginning in Genesis was

  438. chaos. Things were not in place. Things were

  439. not... in order. Praise the Lord. And God brought

  440. calmness to it. Right? We have light and darkness.

  441. Right? Genesis 1 and 2. Right? Light and darkness.

  442. But then, what is the genesis of Jesus Christ?

  443. What does the genesis of Jesus Christ say? What

  444. does the genealogy of Jesus Christ say? Right?

  445. He says what? There is a new beginning. Praise

  446. the Lord. There is a new beginning. It is no

  447. longer a time of chaos. It is no longer a time

  448. of disorder. Praise the Lord. It is not a time

  449. of disorder. A new beginning of what? Of God

  450. amongst men. Praise the Lord. God amongst men.

  451. Right? It is God's new creation. Light out of

  452. darkness. Matthew chapter 1 verse 1 as we saw.

    Matthew 1:1

  453. The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the

  454. son of David, the son of Abraham. So John the

  455. Baptist is announcing the coming of God as a

  456. man. He will save his people from their sins.

  457. And what will he do? He's not just saving his

  458. people from their sins. Remember when we said

  459. that he's not just a name, Jesus, but what is

  460. important is Emmanuel, God with us, that he's

  461. taking those people to himself. Hallelujah. He's

  462. taking them to himself. He saves his people from

  463. their sins and he will take them to themselves.

  464. So what is the beauty or what is the important

  465. thing about the gospel? What is the important

  466. thing about the gospel? What is so important

  467. about the gospel? What is the blessing of it?

  468. The blessing of it is God himself. Praise the

  469. Lord. The package that we receive is what? God

  470. himself. That is the beauty of the gospel. So

  471. when you're preaching to somebody, what you're

  472. doing is that you're presenting God to the person

  473. as a gift. Praise the Lord. When you preach to

  474. a person, you're presenting God to them. We receive

  475. at salvation God. Praise the Lord. So at salvation,

  476. we receive God. In Exodus, he said he would deliver

  477. them, right? And what? And bring them to himself.

  478. Exodus, Exodus chapter six, verse three. I am

  479. Yahweh, said I am God, right? Exodus chapter,

  480. he says, I've heard to Abraham and to Isaac and

  481. to Jacob as God almighty. But by my name, Lord,

  482. I was not known to them. Verse four, I have also

  483. established my covenant with them. to give them

  484. the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage,

  485. in which they were strangers. Verse 6 now. Therefore

  486. say to the children of Israel, I am the Lord.

  487. I will bring you out from under the bondage of

  488. the Egyptians. I will rescue you from the bondage,

  489. and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm

  490. and with a great judgment. Verse 7. He said,

  491. I will take you. As what? My people. Praise the

  492. Lord. I will take you as my people and I will

  493. be your God. Then you shall know that I am the

  494. Lord, your God, who brings you out from under

  495. the bondage, under the burdens of the Egyptians.

  496. Praise the Lord. What? He will take them what?

  497. To himself. Right? I will take you as my people

  498. and I will be your God. Praise the Lord. And

  499. then you will know that he's the one that has

  500. brought you out of that place. Praise the Lord.

  501. So what they are inheriting, in essence, is God

  502. himself. Praise the Lord. He said, I will bring

  503. you, I will take you as my people and I will

  504. be your God. Then you shall know that I am the

  505. Lord your God who brings you out from under the

  506. burdens of the Egyptians. Right? So they are

  507. not going there to build houses. They are not

  508. going there to inherit some land. but that they

  509. are inheriting God for my people. You will be,

  510. and I will be your God. Verse 8. And I will bring

  511. you into the land which I swore to give Abraham,

  512. Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a

  513. heritage. I am the Lord. So what does God give

  514. us? He gives us himself. He gives us himself.

  515. So at salvation, We receive God, we receive God,

  516. right, as our possession, as our precious possession.

  517. He is our precious possession. So we said at

  518. incarnation, what do we have? We have what? A

  519. man like God, right? So he says that his name

  520. shall be Joshua. It means he will do this for

  521. his people and he will save his people. So at

  522. the name of a man, God will send, right? He will

  523. save his people. So he's God himself. So he will

  524. bear both the name of man and the name of God.

  525. Luke chapter 1, verse 31, verse 35. He said,

    Luke 1:31

  526. Behold, you will conceive in your womb, bring

  527. forth a son. You shall call his name Jesus. He

  528. will be great and he will be called the son of

  529. the Most High. And the Lord God will give him

  530. the throne of his father, David. And he will

  531. reign over the houses of Jacob forever. And of

  532. his kingdom there will be no end. Then Mary said

  533. to the angel, How can this be, since I do not

  534. know a man? And the angel answered and said,

  535. The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power

  536. of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore

  537. also the Holy One who is to be born will be called

  538. the Son of God. Praise the Lord. So it means

  539. that the virgin conceiving is a sign that God

  540. is among us. Praise the Lord. God is among us.

  541. Praise the Lord. I know that I used to say that

  542. I have an orthodox background. Some of those

  543. still believe that she's a virgin. She has so

  544. many other children and they were not by the

  545. power of the Holy Spirit. Amen? Amen? Okay. So

  546. God with us. So what do we do? What is our response

  547. to knowing that God is with us? Right? What is

  548. our... What is our attitude going to be? That

  549. God is with us. That God is with us. Remember

  550. we started on Sunday by saying that one of the

  551. things that we need to do is to be what? Established

  552. in faith. Praise the Lord. We need to be established

  553. in faith. A man who has no knowledge, a man who

  554. does not know who he is, can be influenced by

  555. any and by every information. So we need to be

  556. what? Established in faith. Praise the Lord.

  557. To be able to benefit or walk like them that

  558. have God in the inside of them. Praise the Lord.

  559. And he also promised that what? He said, I will

  560. not leave you nor forsake you. Right? And we

  561. said that. It demonstrates God's eternal covenant

  562. or everlasting covenant, right? Of his presence

  563. with his people. That God is always with his

  564. people. And so when God is always with you, what

  565. do you do? How do you live your life? Praise

  566. the Lord. How do you live your life? I remember

  567. I was having this conversation with someone one

  568. time and he was just talking about many things

  569. that are happening in church. and this person

  570. is doing this. I mean, not this church, obviously,

  571. just talking about the body of Christ in large

  572. and talking about how people are not living as

  573. they should live, right? When you hear some stories

  574. about people and they're like, this person, I

  575. mean, if you know God, right? Or if you have

  576. any sense of being in the body of Christ, this

  577. type of behaviors should not be found in you.

  578. or should not be seen in you. Praise the Lord.

  579. Because what? God is with you. Praise the Lord.

  580. God is with you. And I was like, for me, I've

  581. been in church, I think all my life. There's

  582. never been a time where I've never been in church.

  583. Okay. Even in times where I was walking, I still

  584. try to find time to walk that demands that I

  585. be there on Sundays. Right. I still find time

  586. to come to church. So, My parents, they raised

  587. us to go to church every day. It was not, it

  588. was not even a conversation. It's not something

  589. that you rebel against. So you say, ah, today

  590. I don't feel like doing this, but you just go

  591. to church. You sit in the front row, you get

  592. quiet, you do as you're told. And I think over

  593. time, you begin to ask yourself the question,

  594. like, okay, this thing that we are doing, right?

  595. This thing that is happening, of what? benefit

  596. does it have to me praise the lord of what benefits

  597. does it have to me right so you you when you

  598. begin to ask those questions you now begin to

  599. question why you are in the place in the first

  600. place why you are going to church and then once

  601. you begin to discover what god has done for you

  602. right or the life of god that you have in the

  603. inside of you you will see that he wants a relationship

  604. praise the lord you will see that what He wants

  605. a relationship with you. And that relationship

  606. is such that He wants you to know Him for yourself.

  607. Right? It's not that somebody is going to be,

  608. maybe like your parents or let's say your pastors

  609. are going to be chasing you up and that's your

  610. behavior. You need to start. Do you understand?

  611. God in the inside of you transforms you. He transforms

  612. your character. You are not the same. The you

  613. that we see tomorrow should be more patient.

  614. Praise the Lord. The you that we see next tomorrow

  615. should be more patient and kind and more self

  616. -controlled. Praise the Lord. More patient and

  617. kind and what? Self -control. Praise the Lord.

  618. And that you're not somebody who brings shame

  619. or who makes people begin to say, ah, this Christian

  620. life self, what are we doing? Praise the Lord.

  621. Is it the way they are doing it? Why should I

  622. join them? Praise the Lord. So sometimes I say

  623. that you take seriously what we come here to

  624. do. Like we didn't come to waste your time. Praise

  625. the Lord. We didn't come to waste your time.

  626. We didn't become pastors because we were hungry.

  627. Or we didn't become leaders of church because

  628. we were hungry. Or there was nothing else that

  629. our life can become. Praise the Lord. So as you

  630. come to... the house of God, as you are a child

  631. of God, one of the things that your heart should

  632. be yearning towards is continual transformation.

  633. Praise the Lord. And how do you do that? By being

  634. established in faith, by being trained, by allowing

  635. yourself to be taught, by allowing the word of

  636. God to shape your thoughts and your patterns,

  637. that you see things come up in your mind and

  638. you ask yourself, am I supposed to think like

  639. that or am I supposed to behave in that way?

  640. Praise the Lord. And it does not inhabit you

  641. or stop you from doing your work. Praise the

  642. Lord. So you can be a nurse. It doesn't stop

  643. you from doing your work. Praise the Lord. It

  644. does not stop you from doing your work. So one

  645. of the things again that we said that God being

  646. with us is also understanding that as we preach

  647. the word, what we preach is God. That God is

  648. walking through his word. Praise the Lord. That

  649. God is walking through the world that we preach.

  650. So the gospel message we preach is God. So when

  651. you preach to a person, remember I said, the

  652. blessing that you're giving that person is God.

  653. So you will not be doubting, should I preach

  654. or should I not preach? That should not be the

  655. attitude you should have. Should I preach or

  656. should I not preach? God in the inside of you

  657. means that you should tell that person about

  658. God. Praise the Lord. You should tell that person.

  659. about God, because the word of God, it carries

  660. power in the inside of it. Praise the Lord. So

  661. lastly, one of the things that we do is that

  662. as knowing that God is with us, we do the things

  663. we do daily with confidence, right? That God

  664. is faithful. Praise the Lord. We do the things

  665. that we do. Knowing fully well that God is with

  666. us and we live our lives with the confidence

  667. of God's faithfulness. Praise the Lord. That

  668. God will not leave us nor forsake us. That you

  669. will not come to a point in your life and say

  670. that they all left me. Praise the Lord. You're

  671. not somebody who would, you're seeking for validations

  672. by the things outside of what people are saying

  673. concerning you. Praise the Lord. That you find

  674. validation in God. That you find confidence in

  675. God. You're not looking for somebody to hype

  676. you up. You're not looking for somebody to tell

  677. you so many nice things. Praise the Lord. It's

  678. that you move with this confidence that God is

  679. in the inside of you. Right? And that joy comes

  680. from the inside of you. That you do not need

  681. to stand out things to be joyful. Can somebody

  682. find that place for us? I don't know where that

  683. is. That talks about... So he reads like this,

  684. be content with such as you have. This is Paul's

  685. writing, right? He said, for I will not leave

  686. you nor forsake you. Can you just find that scripture

  687. for me? So we move with this confidence that

  688. God is with us. There were not people that are

  689. wanting. We don't lack ideas. Praise the Lord.

  690. We don't lack ideas, right? We are not, we are

  691. not, we are both and we are not beneath. That

  692. God gives us wisdom. that the world cannot think

  693. about. Praise the Lord. That we provide solution

  694. to our generation. We are people that provide

  695. solutions to our families. Praise the Lord. We

  696. are people that, he said, Hebrews, okay, let

  697. your conduct be without of righteousness, but

  698. be content with such as you have. For he himself

  699. said, has said, I will not leave you nor forsake

  700. you. Praise the Lord. So let your conduct be

  701. without covetousness, that you're somebody who

  702. is content with what you have. Praise the Lord.

  703. You're not looking for... Those are people, what

  704. they want is what is overshadowing them. They

  705. desire something that is not going to either

  706. make their life any better. They just want it

  707. because society demands that you should have

  708. it. Praise the Lord. And they put themselves

  709. on undue pressure. Example, you know that you

  710. cannot afford certain type of laptops at this

  711. time of your life or certain type of phone, but

  712. in your heart, every time you see it, you're

  713. just, ah, God, when? Praise the Lord. Praise

  714. the Lord. He said what? To be content with such

  715. as you have. For he said what? He will not leave

  716. us nor forsake us. God will not leave you. Praise

  717. the Lord. Nor will he forsake you. If somebody

  718. that is forsaken, I was like, ah, God, when?

  719. Praise the Lord. That's the thinking. The way

  720. that feels forsaken was like, ah, when would

  721. good things start coming to my life? Or maybe

  722. you see that somebody is, something good happened

  723. to somebody, right? Rather than rejoicing with

  724. the person, you start feeling envious or you

  725. are angry. You don't become angry at your situation.

  726. It's like, ah, when can I also give a testimony?

  727. Praise the Lord. And it's a beautiful thing to

  728. seek for good things, but it becomes a thing

  729. of envy. It becomes a thing where, You no longer

  730. know how to rejoice without which is good. Or

  731. when you begin to see the progress of your brothers

  732. or your sisters. Praise the Lord. So we move

  733. with this confidence that God is with us. We're

  734. not stranded. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Let's

  735. just rise on our feet and just pray. We appreciate

  736. you being here today. We hope you carry this

  737. word with you throughout your week. Don't forget
