-
No, Jesus came.
-
This is the time we can celebrate the Lord's coming because he came and was infused in the womb of Mary on December 25th exactly.
-
Then, uh, in the last part of September, he was born of the Virgin Mary and crucified in April.
-
As long as we understand this, we can celebrate Christmas.
-
Alright?
-
But he wasn't born on December 25th, no.
-
The Immaculate Inception occurred the last part of December.
-
We all know this, right?
-
So, in that regard, we can celebrate Christmas, and it's not a pagan holiday for us because we accept Christ as the Son of God.
-
Amen.
-
That's the deal.
-
All right, now, Hebrews chapter 1 and verse 1 to 3, please, today.
Hebrews 1 chapter mention
-
God, who has sundry times and diverse manners spake in the times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the world, who being the brightness of his glory and expressed image of his person and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had purged, when he had himself purged our sins, set down the right hand of the majesty on high.
-
And everybody said amen to that one.
-
Years ago, I was asked a question.
-
And they were asking this question, what is God saying to you today?
-
And the different ones give different answers.
-
And when it came my turn, I said, Well, God's saying the same thing a day that He's always said.
-
Once is sufficient for the Lord God's voice.
-
Now, look at verse 2 again, please.
-
God has spoken in these last days.
-
Everybody say last days.
-
Now it's talking about the church age, from Pentecost to the coming out resurrection, just around the corner.
-
And God is still speaking the same thing today through his son.
-
So God came and spoke to the Son.
-
The old Testament prophets, and then finally the Son.
-
And now we have the record in the scripture about what was said.
-
And I've been challenged last week to go back and read all the red letter in the New Testament to find out exactly what the Son said.
-
Jack Venice memorized that.
-
I haven't made it yet, but uh I have read it many times, of course.
-
And so we celebrate then the incarnation of Christ, and he's made heir of all things because of the cross.
-
You see, the Son of God earned the right to be the heir of all things when he became man and went to the cross for our salvation, and he controls all things because he's human.
-
Now, the only way that Christ could be our Savior is to become a man without the sinfulness that we have.
-
And so he went, lived his whole life, 33 and a half years, without sin.
-
And so he alone is the only savior in the world and ever will be the only savior.
-
There is none other.
-
But he still offers pardon and forgiveness and salvation, eternal life today, for all those that will accept him as Savior and Lord of their lives.
-
That's its conditional to the person.
-
So Christ today has full control of all things and sustains the weight of the universe on his own shoulders.
-
He alone is in charge of our lives.
-
We may not understand it, but you've got to accept it that he is God and knows everything there is to know, past, present, and future, through the Holy Spirit.
-
Well, he's in charge of our lives.
-
Now, how many have surrendered your life to his lordship?
-
Can heaven amen?
-
If you haven't, you need to do that today because time's running out.
-
There's a heaven to gain and a hell to shine, like the old timers preached, and it's still the same today.
-
And so Christ came to save us from eternal damnation and the judgment to come, which he has accomplished.
-
But the condition is a person must believe on him and surrender their life through obedience to his will.
-
And if not, you're not in.
-
Not God's will.
-
God wants everyone to go to heaven and he's made uh plenty of room for those.
-
Actually, he knows who's going to accept Christ and who's not going to.
-
We don't, but he does.
-
Because God has foreknowledge.
-
Say foreknowledge.
-
God saves the future, your future, and mine for all eternity.
-
So this is a good deal as long as we're in the straight and narrow road.
-
But if we're on the broad road, it goes to destruction, and many there be would squin there at.
-
And so we must be careful and be sure that we're on the straight and narrow road that leads to life eternal.
-
You understand that, right?
-
Well, then he alone then purged our sins.
-
And the sacrifice of Jesus was accepted by the Father God for us on our behalf.
-
The reason I know that Christ's offering on the cross was accepted is because he was resurrected.
-
So when we talk about the Christmas story, it's really the gospel.
-
I mean, all year long it's a Christmas story.
-
Because the gospel is the good news.
-
But today people are looking for happiness, and I want to tell y'all something right now.
-
I've been trying to teach my grandson how to be a preacher.
-
I'm going to tell you something right now, and that's it.
-
He's picked up on it.
-
He's picked up on it, see.
-
And uh, of course, Seth didn't appreciate it much, but you know.
-
God cannot give us happiness and peace as there is no such thing outside of himself.
-
Did you get that?
-
God is the one that we need in our life, not anything or anyone else.
-
And when you find him, you'll find happiness, joy, and peace.
-
It's a growing thing, but you got to start.
-
Had you started.
-
Let's look at 1 Corinthians 15 47.
-
Now, this is a short message today.
-
Nobody amen, so I guess I could preach an hour.
-
Doesn't matter.
-
I mean, the Africans woke me up at 10:30.
-
I wasn't even asleep anyway.
-
10 30 at night.
-
We gotta have church.
-
Wasn't getting any sleep anyway.
-
I mean, I'm still alive.
-
We're gonna tell, yeah, I know.
-
But I'll recuperate.
-
Praise the Lord.
-
Let's look at verse 47.
-
First Corinthians 15, 47, if you have a Bible.
-
If not, you can look on the screen here today.
-
Now get a hold of this.
-
The first man is of the earth, earthy, that's Adam.
-
The second man is the Lord from heaven, that's Jesus.
-
Where did he come from?
-
Heaven.
-
Not the earth.
-
That makes him a little unique, don't you think?
-
Really much so.
-
And the reason he came, everybody, was to identify with you and me.
-
So God became flesh, totally human, God in the flesh, to identify with the human race.
-
That's the reason he alone is the only Savior and Lord for the human race.
-
Now, let's look at John 20.
-
St.
-
John 20, please.
-
And we're gonna get to something here that's going to help people and something that is gonna hurt people.
-
It depends upon your choice.
-
It depends upon if you obey the project of the Holy Spirit or not.
-
It's out of my hands.
-
I'm just a messenger boy.
-
And we'll all get a chance to get on the good side of God.
-
I remain over here wondering what's going on.
-
After the resurrection of Christ, in verse 17 of uh St.
-
John 20.
-
So Christ was resurrected then, and uh this verse pops up.
-
Jesus said to her, Touch me not, for I'm not yet ascended to my father.
-
See, he's identifying with us now.
-
But go to my brethren and say to them, I ascend to my father and your father and to my God and your God.
-
Now that's heavy.
-
Because he was God in the flesh, identifying as a human being.
-
He was totally human, spirit, soul, and body, like you and me.
-
And it had to be this way to be the legal savior and heir of all things.
-
And then he appears to Thomas because, you know, Thomas said, you know what?
-
I'm not going to believe he rose from the dead until I see him myself.
-
And so eight days goes by, and here Thomas is in verse 26 now, and after eight days again, his disciples were with him, and Thomas with them, and came to Jesus, and the doors have been shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you.
-
He is the only one that can give us any peace.
-
I tell you, folks, the world has no peace to give us.
-
It's getting worse.
-
Fear not, not over yet.
-
Christ is in charge of all things, even the entire universe.
-
For all eternity.
-
Praise God.
-
Can we trust him with our soul?
-
I'm telling you, I don't have anybody else to trust except he alone.
-
Which I made that commitment back in 1977.
-
And like they say in Arkansas, it's getting gooder and gooder every day.
-
Praise the Lord.
-
Well, then said he to Thomas.
-
Now, how did how did Jesus know what Thomas said?
-
Well, the Holy Spirit knows all things.
-
And so what the Holy Spirit knows, Jesus knew.
-
So here he comes now, the door's being shut.
-
He just moves to the dimension and the portal, the door, and stands there in the presence of the disciples.
-
In the upper room, and we could call it that.
-
And he said, Hey Thomas, come here, dude.
-
Who's happening to my man?
-
No.
-
That's not that's the wrong translation, everybody.
-
Reach hither and put your finger, hold my hands, and reach hither, thy hand, and thrust into my side, and be not faithless, but believing.
-
So apparently there was not a scar, but a gaping wound where he could.
-
See, we got to understand the nail the the holes in Christ's hands, you can see through them.
-
His wrists, you can see through them.
-
He had no blood now, but he was alive.
-
How was Christ alive?
-
By the Holy Spirit.
-
See, once the blood of God flowed through his veins, he shed it out on the cross, and now the Holy Spirit flows through his veins.
-
Praise God.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Like it's going to be to happen to us.
-
All the believers, one day we'll know.
-
We'll know as we're known.
-
We'll have a body like his glorious body.
-
Because we're in a covenant with him.
-
So don't miss out on this deal.
-
It's the best deal that God offers the human race.
-
Eternal life.
-
Say eternal life.
-
Well.
-
Then 28, as I've often said, this the greatest confession of all time.
-
Thomas answered and said, My Lord and my God.
-
I can see this, Thomas on his knees.
-
The Bible doesn't say it, but you know, he was.
-
My Lord and my God.
-
He might even grab them nail-scarred feet.
-
My Lord and my God.
-
That's the greatest confession of all time.
-
And you know what?
-
Confession is made unto salvation.
-
Did you get that?
-
Now, confession will not save you.
-
But if you're saved, you will confess.
-
Let's get the cart after the horse here.
-
It sort of seals up the deal, so to speak, for us.
-
Even though we're already sealed with the Holy Spirit after you're saved.
-
But then we need to cooperate and just confess that Jesus is Lord of our life, even in public.
-
I said in public.
-
So we're going to get to something now that's a little bit different, but needed today because the Holy Spirit told me to do it this way.
-
And some like it and some don't.
-
It's out of my hands.
-
But if you will do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do, you'll be blessed, happy, and find peace and joy.
-
And if you resist, you'll be miserable.
-
We'll be right back to today's message.
-
But first, we want to take a moment to think of heart.com.
-
That's bioword.com.
-
Now, let's get back to the dates powerful message with Dr.
-
Wendy Day.
-
10 20 29.
-
The Bible says, Thomas, because you have seen me and have believed.
-
Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.
-
Now I haven't seen Jesus face to face yet, other than in a vision.
-
But I can tell you, I did believe.
-
The Lord said, Those people are blessed that haven't seen and yet have believed.
-
He's still speaking today, everybody.
-
And so Christ condescended to the earth for this purpose to bring many sons to glory.
-
God has a plan for your life.
-
Visitors, God has a plan for your life, but you've got to come into the plan.
-
The only way to come into the plan, you've got to hear the preaching of the Word of God, because faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
-
Now you'll receive faith today, even in a mustard seed.
-
If you'll act on it, it'll activate God's blessing in your life, which is life eternal, salvation, forgiveness of sins, pardon, you name it.
-
Sanctification, justification, all of it is wrapped up in what you're going to do.
-
It's already been done for us, but we have to take the step into the kingdom of God.
-
The kingdom of God is here today, but you must step into something invisible, and yet it's real.
-
The invisible is more real than the natural.
-
I can't see air, but I breathe it, don't you?
-
I have a mind, I think.
-
I haven't seen it yet.
-
Matthew 10, 32.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Matthew's gospel today.
-
This is pretty heavy now.
-
Are you ready for it?
-
The other day of playing church is over with.
-
You're either a say uh a Christian or you're not.
-
Amen.
-
What is a Christian?
-
Well, a Christian has Christ in him and he's in Christ.
-
That's what a Christian is.
-
If that be true, then there are certain uh formats that we need to follow because we are believers.
-
Like going to church on a regular basis.
-
Amen.
-
Learn how to pray, learn how to study the word, learn how to uh trust God in every area of our lives.
-
If we'll just trust Him.
-
That's what really faith is trusting God.
-
Now you look at the universe, look at the atmosphere, look at the stars and moon.
-
It just didn't happen.
-
God created it all.
-
Amen.
-
That's the choice.
-
Either you created it all, or it came from some big bam boom somewhere, and we all were just used to being amoeba, and somehow another we crawled out of the water and we grew a tail, and then after a thousand million years, we grew some eyeballs, and then the first thing you know, we climbed up in a tree.
-
All nonsense.
-
And in the beginning, God created heavens and the earth.
-
In the beginning was the word.
-
Word is what is the government of the word was God?
-
The sin was in the beginning of the government, among us created by him, and nothing was created in the was created.
-
But some of him in the rivers no brother.
-
The fingers are ten thousand to our soul.
-
He gives the remnant morning star, the woman that was and is and going to come again.
-
He alone.
-
And we must bow the knees to him alone.
-
Not a man.
-
He alone offers forgiveness.
-
Like the woman that was caught in adultery.
-
Go call your husband.
-
Well, I don't have one.
-
He knew that.
-
See, God always deals deals with that something's wrong in our life.
-
Sin.
-
Say sin.
-
Not a mistake, sin.
-
That's why Christ come to cleanse us from our sinning.
-
Which he has already done, but you must accept the way he does it.
-
Through the blood of the Lamb is the only way to have your sins forgiven and have your free ticket to glory.
-
All aboard! Get your bags packed.
-
I don't have to.
-
It's already done for me.
-
Praise God.
-
It's a free ticket.
-
But you gotta accept the way that God does things.
-
Now in Matthew 10, 32.
-
Before I read that, I think we need to go to Romans 10, 9, and 10.
-
I don't have it on my note, but I want I want to bring this home to us.
-
Is that okay?
-
Romans 10.
-
Romans 10, 9 and 10.
-
You will confess your mouth, the Lord Jesus, believe in your heart, God risen from the dead, you shall be saved.
-
How many believe that Jesus rose from the dead?
-
Then the next verse.
-
With your heart, you believe in righteousness.
-
So with your heart then, see, God sees our heart, which is our spirit, and then He will accept or reject what our heart wants to do.
-
If your heart turns away from God, then what's the Lord, what can the Lord do for us?
-
He waits for us to turn back to Him, which is repentance.
-
You believe you're with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
-
I quoted that a while ago.
-
So once we believe in our heart, then we need to confess with our mouth from time to time what we believe or who we believe in.
-
It's not so much one, two, three, it's who we believe, who we know, who we've met, who we accepted, who we trust with our soul.
-
Of course, Christ is the one.
-
Now let's go back to Matthew 10, 32.
-
Little sidetrack there.
-
I hope you understand that.
-
Because we're going to make a point here, and this is very serious.
-
I joke around a lot, but not this morning.
-
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess before my Father which is in heaven.
-
That's a good deal.
-
I said, that's a good deal.
-
Because if Christ confesses us before the Father God, you are in.
-
You are in.
-
But then the next verse says, Whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
-
So it's a matter of confessing or not.
-
If we confess before men, now look, you believers, if you can't confess Christ and the congregation, you're not going to do it out there in an ungodly world.
-
You're just fooling yourself.
-
So from what I understand about this subject, if we fail to glorify God by not confessing him, we're liable to get chastised.
-
Now, this is not a fear thing, this is a faith thing.
-
But either you love God with all your heart and mind and strength, or you don't.
-
Either he's number one in your life, or he's not.
-
If you're ashamed of him, he's going to be ashamed of us.
-
No, it can't be that way, everybody.
-
It doesn't matter what Sister Saddle thanks and Brother Mooney.
-
Forget it.
-
We're not here to impress people.
-
We're here to glorify God.
-
And one way is with our words, actions, and deeds in front of the congregation.
-
And if we can't do that much, we're a sorry crowd.
-
So confession is needed.
-
And before we go on here further, now this is different today.
-
But I have to obey, or I wouldn't love God.
-
And there are those, I'm feeling it's not coming on, there are those today that need to come back to the Savior.
-
The lost sheep need to come back.
-
And the Savior, the good shepherd's looking.
-
The father is waiting for the prodigal son to come back, but you gotta come back.
-
He waits.
-
Nothing but pure love.
-
He waits.
-
He waits on you.
-
And then there might be those today that have never accepted Christ as a Savior and Lord.
-
Well, he's waiting on you too.
-
Because he loves.
-
I remember when I got saved, my wife and I back in 77.
-
Long time ago.
-
I was under conviction.
-
What conviction is you feel the love of God pulling you, but you feel bad because of all the sinning you did.
-
Oh no, huh?
-
No.
-
Y'all have.
-
Y'all have.
-
And I wanted to go to the altar.
-
There's something about going to the altar, getting on your knees.
-
It's not so much about what you pray, big old long prayer.
-
No.
-
You just come as you are.
-
A sinner in need of the Savior.
-
Which He accepts everyone that comes by faith.
-
He never turns anybody away that comes in faith.
-
But to simply trust like a little child.
-
And the singing altar call, and I said to my wife, we need to go with the altar.
-
She said, I can't.
-
I can't do it.
-
Like some of you.
-
I can't do it.
-
Because Satan's got a hold of you.
-
Sin, you can't control sin.
-
Only the Savior can cut it off your life and set you free.
-
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
-
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there's liberty.
-
If you don't have liberty to confess Christ, you're in bondage.
-
I'm talking to your believers now.
-
Because the message is for sinners, backsliders, and those that are living the best they can.
-
The message is the same.
-
We need to glorify Christ with our entire being.
-
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God with all thy mind, soul, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself.
-
This is the first and great commandment.
-
If we can't do that, the salt is no good.
-
It's going to be a trodden underfoot of men.
-
It's time to get serious about this thing because it's still a matter of life and death.
-
I need to ask the question now before we go to the last verse.
-
You know, we're not being rejected today, but redirected.
-
I cannot direct my own life.
-
So I asked my wife a second time, don't you think we need to go on the altar?
-
And then she broke down and started crying.
-
But it was a godly cry.
-
Not the ways of the world.
-
You know, you can shed tears and be tears of joy.
-
And so we just walked to the altar.
-
I didn't pray anything, didn't know what to pray, didn't know how to pray.
-
But I brought myself to the cross.
-
And there is where I found it.
-
Jerry Lewis.
-
Piano player.
-
Great.
-
I listened to him one time.
-
He said, I've had everything the world has to offer.
-
I've even bought items.
-
Of course, you lost them all.
-
He said, I've got to get back to that little country church.
-
That's where it's at.
-
We can't see the forest for the trees.
-
We got such a great church here and a great bunch of people.
-
I know you're honoring.
-
So what?
-
So am I.
-
Join the club.
-
But God's not through with us yet.
-
He's assigned the Holy Spirit to us, and He's going to win the battle over our flesh.
-
I can promise you that much.
-
Because we are secure in Christ as long as you stay in Christ.
-
Now, if you're not in Christ, what are you waiting on?
-
Doomsday?
-
Someone asked you a question now.
-
I want you to think about this.
-
Those of you that are backslid, those of you, you've got to admit it.
-
Take off the fig leaf.
-
It doesn't mean anything.
-
God already knows.
-
It doesn't matter what we're here to help you.
-
But there's only one way.
-
There's got to be an altar call.
-
Well, don't put it off because you could die before you get out that door.
-
So could I.
-
This thing's serious.
-
It's time to shake yourself like Samson.
-
The Philistines are upon us.
-
It's time to shake ourselves.
-
That's up to you.
-
As a servant of the Lord, all I can do is open the door.
-
Glory to God.
-
I have the authority to open the door to eternal life.
-
If you've never been saved today, you need to give your heart to Christ.
-
You need to come forward.
-
If you're away from the Lord, you need to rededicate yourself.
-
Recommit yourself to his Lordship.
-
You need to come forward.
-
Thank you for listening to the Divine Word Ministries International Podcast.

Closer to the heart of God.
