Thank you, Jesus.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
Man, there's a shift in the atmosphere.
-
Man, the word of God says, for those that can perceive there is a new thing, and I'll tell you what, God is trying to do a new thing in your life, but you have to perceive it.
-
You have to open up your eyes and perceive it.
-
And God is saying, not your physical eyes, your spiritual eyes that have been closed for so long.
-
You've had them shielded for so long, they've been numb for so long.
-
God is saying, open the eyes of your spirit and see that I'm trying to do a new thing in their midst.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
-
God meet us in power today, God.
-
Meet us in power today, Lord God.
-
I cast off heaviness today, Lord God.
-
I cast off Lord God brokenness today, Lord Jesus.
-
Oh, right now, Lord God, I thank you because you have come to put broken pieces together.
-
You have come to break, Lord God, bring the broken pieces, Lord God.
-
You're bringing them together, Lord God, and you're gonna make people whole today.
-
Oh Lord Jesus.
-
There's someone in the room that you you see your life, and it's like, man, God, this is this whole life of mine right now is a train wreck.
-
This whole life of mine is is the total car on the side of the road.
-
But can I tell you a secret?
-
God says, I come to make all things new.
-
I come to make all things new.
-
I come to make all things new today.
-
Thank you, Jesus, that you meet us in our broken places.
-
I thank you today, Lord God, because once upon a time you found a wretch like me, Lord God.
-
You found a wretch like me, Lord God, and your amazing grace met me.
-
Met me at my lowest, met me at my worst.
-
And that same God is in this room today.
-
And I don't care how dirty your dirty looks, God says, Man, my amazing grace covers that today.
-
I gotta I got something for that today.
-
It's called my amazing grace.
-
I got something for that, it's called the blood of Jesus.
-
I wash that thing right right now.
-
I wash it white as snow.
-
Oh Lord Jesus, thank you today, Lord God.
-
Thank you today, Lord God, thank you today, Lord Jesus.
-
Thank you today, Lord God, arrest us, arrest us, arrest us, Lord God.
-
Oh Lord God, we're not here bound to some agenda today, Lord God.
-
We're here seeking hard after you today, Lord God.
-
Oh Lord Jesus, we're seeking hard after you today, Lord God, and your way is better, Lord God, your way is better, Lord God, oh Lord Jesus, oh Lord Jesus, today, man.
-
Somebody needs to make some great exchange today and say, God, I give you my way for your way because it's better.
-
I surrender my way today because your way is better today, God.
-
Oh Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus.
-
Oh, come in power today, Lord God.
-
Come in power today, man.
-
I'll tell you what, man.
-
Begin to change your doctrine today because you might be saying, Well, God, if it's your will, you know, do something.
-
No, no, it is his will, he died on the cross so that you could be set free.
-
It is his will today.
-
He died on the cross, man.
-
He was wounded for your affliction.
-
Why?
-
So that you can walk in healing today.
-
Don't question his will.
-
That is his will for your life that you could be set free, that you could walk in freedom today, that you could walk in forgiveness today.
-
There's forgiveness in the room today, there's healing in the room today, there's healing in the room today.
-
God has shared that story of the woman with the issue of blood, this woman on the fringes, wanting just enough to know what was going on, but so ashamed she couldn't get close.
-
So many live, we live our life in that realm.
-
We walk around with the mask on.
-
Now I'm good.
-
I love Jesus.
-
Yeah, he's good.
-
Great guy.
-
We homies.
-
And God is saying man, would you take the mask off today?
-
Would you take the mask off today?
-
Because your mask fulls no one here.
-
There's no mask in his presence, there's no masks in his presence.
-
He sees us for who we are, Lord God.
-
I thank you today that you meet us in this space, Lord God.
-
Lord God, we honor you right now, Lord God.
-
We honor you today, Lord God.
-
We honor you right now, Lord God.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
-
You know, I love this moment because really what I have lined up for you is really just some testimonies that I want to share with you guys.
-
Everybody say faith forward, spirit-led.
-
This is a lifestyle of stepping boldly into the future, not by our own strength, but step by step under the active guidance and the power of the Holy Spirit.
-
Man, we have had an invitation this year to walk this life in the beginning of the year.
-
Faith forward, spirit-led is the word that God gave us.
-
And as we ventured into this word, man, I want to share a testimony with you this morning.
-
I want to share Emily's story.
-
She said, This past year has been one of the hardest of my life.
-
I struggle with anxiety and I walked through a painful loss, but I made the decision to keep showing up.
-
I turned to Jesus, I found the church family at overflow and began opening my Bible every day.
-
Through his word, I was reminded that I wasn't alone.
-
His peace began replacing my worry, and he reminded me that he is near to the brokenhearted.
-
I'm not saying that every struggle is gone, but I'm not the same person I was a year ago.
-
I have peace where there was fear, hope where there was anxiety.
-
No matter what I face, I know Jesus is with me.
-
He loves me and he's still writing my story.
-
This year didn't go as I expected, but Jesus transformed me right in the middle of it, and I'm so grateful for his grace.
-
I may never understand why he loves a sinner like me, but I'm forever grateful that he left the 99 to come for me.
-
I don't know about you guys, but can you identify with a story like that today?
-
Faith forward and spirit led.
-
I believe that these words are just as important today as they were the first time that we declared them in January.
-
Because moving forward in faith doesn't mean you have everything figured out.
-
It means we trust the one who's leading us, it means we keep moving when we can't see the whole picture.
-
It means we choose obedience when we don't have every answer, and when we follow his leading, we make room for his purpose to unfold.
-
Overflow has been a huge part of my husband and my healing journey from what many would call church hurt.
-
Here we found people who love us, who see us, who have helped us learn to trust again.
-
Having Pastor Adrian and Pastor Michelle as our pastors has been such a blessing.
-
When my husband first found overflow, I was a little doubtful, but he was all in.
-
Today I can truly say, what a blessing.
-
God has been healing my heart and helping us move forward.
-
Overflow has challenged us to step out of our comfort zones and grow closer to the Lord every week.
-
We see Jesus in overflow, and we can't wait to see what God has in store next.
-
Amen.
-
Can we give God an amen?
-
Guys, God gives vision for you, me, and his church.
-
God vision, he reveals his plans, his purpose is imparted to us.
-
We get a glimpse of the future he sees and an invitation to align our lives to his kingdom.
-
And I look at Natasha's story.
-
And Miss Natasha writes, Since coming to Overflow Church, I've learned that love isn't always about what someone does for you or what it looks like on the outside.
-
God's love is freely given.
-
I get to experience genuine love from men and women of God who love me just as I am, and that has shown me what the love of Jesus truly looks like.
-
He is God Elroy, He is the God that sees us.
-
That is one of His names, the God that sees us, and He knows us.
-
But we fall into this tension where there's your vision and His vision.
-
You know, your vision is what you want your life to look like.
-
God's vision is what He wants your life to accomplish.
-
Let me let me run that back.
-
You see, your vision is what you want your life to look like.
-
And you're looking at Instagram, you're looking at TikTok videos, and you're looking, oh, but what is this person doing?
-
And what is that person?
-
And we're framing our life, we're framing what success looks like against what the world tells us is success.
-
This is the vision: the house, the car, the job.
-
But when God gives his vision, his vision is what he wants your life to accomplish.
-
See, your life is on mission.
-
He sees a life on mission when he sees you.
-
There's a difference when we surrender to his life.
-
And I look at Sandy and Pete's story.
-
He says, When I first came to meet Pastor Adrian and Pastor Michelle at Overflow, I remember telling one of the guys, Aggie, man, we're we're just looking for a place to sit, not to serve.
-
But God had a different plan.
-
What we thought was simply finding a church to attend.
-
God saw an opportunity to plant us somewhere we could grow, serve, and be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
-
Looking back, we can see his hand leading us every step of the way.
-
We came looking for a place to sit, but God had a place for us to serve, grow, and belong.
-
And we're so grateful he led us to overflow church.
-
We wouldn't have in any other way.
-
How does surrender look on you today?
-
How does the surrender life look on you today?
-
God gives vision and God not only gives us vision, he gives his church vision.
-
And what is the vision at overflow church?
-
So that people, you and I, can see Jesus clearly, follow him fully, grow in spiritual family, and walk in his overflow.
-
This is more than just a statement, it's a vision that God has entrusted us in this house.
-
And it leads me to Trinity's story.
-
Since becoming part of overflow, God has been working on my heart.
-
It hasn't been an easy journey.
-
I face spiritual battles, but through it all, He's reminded me I'm right where He wants me to be.
-
I chose to be baptized again earlier this year as with a deeper understanding that following Jesus required a heart change, surrender, and a willingness to let him lead.
-
God is also teaching me to open my heart to genuine relationships and community again after experiencing hurt and disappointment.
-
Still being refined, but I'm so grateful God led me to overflow, a place where I can grow deeper in my faith and walk alongside others who are pursuing Him too.
-
Are you seeing it today?
-
Are you seeing it today?
-
Are you seeing yourself in it today?
-
Today is forward Sunday, and what we want people to see is man, we're here to encounter Jesus, and I'll tell you what, this was not planned in the service today, but I guess he was like, Well, let me show you what that looks like, amen.
-
But we're here for that moment to encounter Jesus, to grow together as a spiritual family, to follow him with our whole lives, to walk in fullness of what he has for us.
-
And as we have looked back and shared these different testimonies of just a few things that God has done this year, and we're not just celebrating what happened, but we're here to testify of man what God is doing and now and what he's about to do next.
-
God is at work and overflow church, amen.
-
Amen.
-
Can we celebrate this morning?
-
Amen.
-
Let's go, man, Lord God.
-
We thank you for this moment.
-
We thank you for a God moment, we thank you for your presence that has met us right here, right now, Lord God.
-
But Lord God, we wouldn't have it any other way.
-
Lord God, in Jesus' name, Lord God, let your word today minister to us, speak to us, and challenge us today.
-
In Jesus' name we pray.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
Hey guys, well, I was gonna I gotta hear if you're seated, but you're already seated.
-
But you know, just maybe turn around, high-fi somebody around you, and uh and welcome them into the room today.
-
Man, we're excited to have you in the room.
-
Uh, I'll tell you what, man, when I love it when God just kind of blows up your whole thing.
-
Uh, because I'll tell you what, this was not in the menu today, but that's all right, amen.
-
Man, if you're visiting us for the first time, I'll tell you what, you stepped in it today.
-
What a day.
-
What a day.
-
But I'll tell you what, God is here and he is faithful.
-
Amen.
-
Man, we know that finding a home church can be a challenging thing, and I pray today, not only did you experience some of God's power, but more importantly, man, I feel that I pray you feel his love, his peace.
-
I know that you're if you're in the room and your family today.
-
Amen.
-
Well, today is forward sunday.
-
And I'll tell you what, we have been praying uh for this day, and I I think today we've already seen the evidence of them prayers, amen.
-
But what is forward Sunday?
-
This is a moment for us as a church upon us and remember God's faith on his and everything that he's done.
-
It's an opportunity to celebrate the lives that have been changed, the prayers he's answered, and the steps of faith that have brought us to where we are today.
-
And we've seen people experience salvation.
-
And with salvation, I've seen people rededicate their lives to the Lord here in this room.
-
We've seen baptism, healing, restoration, deliverance.
-
We've had encounters with Jesus in this race.
-
The beautiful thing is God's not done.
-
Amen.
-
I want to pick it up in first Samuel Chapter seven, verse twelve in the amplified version.
-
Chapter seven, verse twelve.
-
In the amplified version, verse twelve reading.
-
And he said it between it.
-
And that means a stone of help.
-
What was the stone?
-
This was simply a marking point.
-
You know, sometimes in life we need reminders, we need the marking point that that let us know, hey man.
-
Life has not been easy, but right here in this moment I saw God show up.
-
And and and for Samuel, this was a marking stone that was simply saying, man, God, we prayed, we believed, you helped us, and you showed up.
-
Let us not forget it.
-
And the next part I love it says thus far.
-
Everybody say thus far.
-
Everybody say thus far.
-
What does that mean?
-
Up to this point, so far, or until now, it describes a situation, action, or state that begins in the past and continues into the present moment, thus far.
-
Thus, you were good right here.
-
Maybe you've been good all the way here, God.
-
And what is this telling me?
-
This Mark and Stone is telling me, Amen.
-
The same God that met us and all of this, and he was here, and he's gonna take me to the next part, amen.
-
The Lord has helped us.
-
I don't know about you guys, but I've seen the Lord help me.
-
And let this day be a marking day.
-
Let today be a marking day for you.
-
Maybe you need to go find yourself.
-
I mean, I'm you can't take my stone.
-
I gotta clean and everything.
-
You can't take my stone.
-
What are you marking?
-
What are you using to mark what God is doing in your life?
-
You're looking backwards with those faith for the forward journey.
-
This passage reminds us that the same God who has helped us until now will continue to help us into our tomorrow.
-
And for some of us, today is that tomorrow.
-
Why?
-
Because I already know my God who came into this room to meet somebody today.
-
He came into the room to bring healing to the room, restoration to the room.
-
He said, Hey man, if you want it, I'm here.
-
If you want it, I am here.
-
Matthew twenty eight nineteen.
-
It says, Go therefore, and make the disciples of all nations.
-
Help the people to learn of me.
-
Believe in me and obey my words.
-
What does that look like?
-
Amen.
-
We're trying to get people to see Jesus clearly so they can follow him fully.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
Let's get some amen in the room.
-
So he says again, go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
-
Discipleship is the key element.
-
Everybody say, element.
-
Of God's kingdom agenda.
-
It's the visible manifestation of God's comprehensive rule over every area of our life.
-
And what is the counterbalance to that?
-
It's the very absence of discipleship that keeps a church powerless and ineffective.
-
Because by not taking up Christ's mission of discipleship, its people cannot draw on Christ's authority.
-
And I tell you what, there's a lot of powerless churches.
-
A big crowd don't mean power.
-
A big crowd don't mean power.
-
A well-resourced church doesn't mean power.
-
I've been to some incredible, incredible facilities.
-
And I didn't know if I was in a funeral or it was a worship Sunday.
-
Because everybody was drinking coffees and and just looking and watching, like it was we were at the movies.
-
Jesus did not die on a cross for a powerless church.
-
Amen.
-
We weren't called to just gather a crowd.
-
We're called to grow disciples who carry authority of Jesus and to advance God's kingdom forward.
-
This is a command from Jesus, not a suggestion or a request.
-
We're going to be as a church on mission.
-
We want overflow church to be a church that is on mission.
-
We want to create intentional opportunities for people to grow in Jesus, to build meaningful relationships, and to live out their faith together.
-
We don't just want to gather people, we want to make disciples.
-
I love and I've I've been a part of many groups back in the day.
-
Oh man, we're gonna do a little small group.
-
And I'll tell you what, can you remember we taught about Jesus, but we hung out.
-
We're not here to gather in that way.
-
We're here to be encouraged, we're here to grow.
-
Everybody say, grow.
-
Faith has to grow, guys.
-
Church was never meant to be a spectator sport.
-
And that's what the heart of the conversations that Pastor Michelle and I have been having as we prayed and prepared for this next season.
-
I'd like to invite Pastor Michelle to come up and join me as we share with Overflow Church, man, what we believe that God is leading us to in this next season as we look a little bit forward.
-
Amen.
-
Yeah, here you go.
-
Amen.
-
Abionis Church, I I don't even know how we're gonna get through this.
-
What a service we have.
-
Have you been blessed by what the Lord has done this morning?
-
I was sitting in that chair and I said, Man, God, I I I prayed this morning, Lord, wreck our plans, and you really did.
-
And I just I'm so grateful for what God is doing.
-
And you know, I I second what Pastor Adrian was just saying.
-
We're our heart is not just to have great Sundays, even though we want to have some good Sundays.
-
Am I in the right house this morning?
-
We want to see lives transform and disciples that make disciples.
-
I'm gonna say that again.
-
Disciples that make disciples.
-
So today I just want to give you four words that are gonna help us shape everything that we're gonna be doing moving forward, and that is gather, grow, live, overflow.
-
Say that with me.
-
Gather, grow, live, overflow.
-
Now say it like this is not a Catholic church.
-
Gather, grow, live, overflow.
-
Here's what this means.
-
We gather around Jesus.
-
If you've been around long enough, overflow church, you know that Jesus is our message.
-
Everything we do centers around Jesus.
-
We gather to worship him.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
We gather to encounter his presence.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
We gather to hear his word, but not just hear it to let us renew our mind and transform us.
-
And we gather to grow with spiritual family.
-
Growing as a disciple.
-
We believe Jesus called us to follow him as a disciple.
-
Following him, it's it's it's not just encountering his presence, even though it is, and hearing his word, it's also growing in spiritual family.
-
But it's more than just attending a church, and well, we want you to come.
-
Know that for sure.
-
We want you to come and gather together.
-
We want to grow in his word.
-
We want to grow in prayer.
-
There's some people that don't even know how to pray appropriately.
-
We want to grow in spiritual family, we want to grow in obedience and in a community of other believers.
-
Living his way is part of that gather, grow, live, overflow.
-
And that simply just means that we recognize that faith is not just a Sunday moment.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
Church, family, church uh should shape our marriages, it should shape our relationships, our parenting, our finances, our everyday decisions.
-
And overflow, helping others do the same simply just reminds us that we weren't saved from something.
-
We were saved for something.
-
I'm gonna say that again.
-
We weren't saved just from something.
-
We were saved for something.
-
Everything that God has poured into our lives was never meant to step with us and be bottlenecked with us.
-
We must get to a place where we become a disciple that makes other disciples, and that is the heart of overflow.
-
So gather, grow, live, overflow simply means we're gonna gather around Jesus as a church, but we're also going to be intentional about growing as disciples.
-
We're gonna be intentional to build our life around his way, and we're going to intentionally overflow, helping others do the same.
-
I want to show you how we're putting this into action because today is four Sunday, amen.
-
So this sounds good in theory, but what does this mean for us as a church?
-
And I want to reference in Acts chapter 2 such a beautiful picture of the early church.
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
And one of the things that we see there is that they devoted themselves.
-
Say devoted.
-
We forget sometimes what it means to be devoted.
-
I think our culture has robbed us from devotion.
-
But the early church devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles.
-
I wonder how our lives will look like if we devoted ourselves to the teaching of the pastors that are over us and the word of God that is being conveyed to our lives every Sunday.
-
But they devoted themselves to the word, to prayer, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread.
-
They gathered at the temple, but they also gathered and met in their homes.
-
They attended church, but they shared life together, and that was a byproduct in how they grew as disciples and carried out the gospel beyond that gathering.
-
Say beyond the gathering.
-
I think that's something that we have lost so much here in our church context in America and just today.
-
We're really good at gathering people in services, but we're not always that intentional about building genuine relationships and equipping people to be able to make disciples.
-
We can worship alongside every Sunday, maybe the person next to you, but we never really know what it is to, what is it that they're going through?
-
How can we be there for each other?
-
We can attend church for years without ever being equipped to help someone else follow Jesus, but church cannot tell you we believe that Jesus never called us just to attend a moment.
-
He called us to follow him and to make disciples.
-
That's what that scripture the pastor just read is so important as our anchor.
-
So, what are we doing about it?
-
We truly believe that we're called to gather as one body as we receive the word and we encounter God together, but we're also called to build relationships and to grow those things into practice.
-
So, church family, that's why I'm so excited to announce that rooted groups are launching this November.
-
Leah, you can get a little bit more excited about that.
-
This is what rooted groups are: they're spaces where we can gather in homes, but also invite our friends, our coworkers, our neighbors to study the Word of God together, to build those genuine relationships, but also to pray together and to grow as disciples.
-
The goal is just not community, the goal is that we can get into a place where we can have transformation that leads to a place of multiplication.
-
We want to equip people to not just follow Jesus, but to live his way and to help others be able to do the same.
-
We want to get to a place where we are church that understands that we have a commission over our lives.
-
Can you say commission?
-
But we're also prepared to something, uh, to do something really special.
-
We want to be able to offer these same spaces in Spanish.
-
Because, church, this is something that has been in our hearts for a very long time.
-
When Pastor Adrian and I received the word of the Lord for the church, we didn't believe just in the community that is building here.
-
We also saw a Spanish-speaking community.
-
Amen.
-
Family, family, this is so important to us.
-
So we want to start this as a discipleship space, and then we're going to begin to explore ways where our Sunday gatherings can grow into a full-fledged Spanish ministry with a Spanish community.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
If you know somebody that has been looking for a church like this, this is what we are dreaming about.
-
We're dreaming about a place where people can actually see the gospel in a way that they have not seen it before.
-
Life at Overflow is the other part that we have been dreaming about.
-
And this is a place that as a church we can take what we learn here and be able to take it into our Monday through Saturday.
-
Because how many of y'all know that our marriages and our parenting and our finances and our emotional health, our purpose, our relationships, all of that needs to align.
-
And not just align to what we and how we do things, but align with biblical wisdom.
-
That's the heart behind life at overflow.
-
We're developing practical teachings and resources and just opportunities to help people apply God's word in everyday life.
-
Guys, we want you to know what you believe, yes, but we also want to equip you to live out what you believe.
-
Amen.
-
Anybody grateful for what God is building here today?
-
Another thing that has been in our heart is the next generation.
-
Say the next generation.
-
Are there any youth in the house today?
-
Come on, somebody.
-
We don't want our young people to simply grow around church.
-
Can I tell you, yeah, growing around church is good?
-
My daughters grew around church, and I can testify that was a good seed.
-
But can I tell you, as parents, we should want our youth to grow up knowing Jesus?
-
There's a difference growing up around something and knowing something.
-
So that's why we're so excited, church, that Overflow Youth is launching also this November.
-
Oh, you can get excited a little bit better than that.
-
Our heart for this is that every Sunday our youth can come and worship together here with the entirety of the church, but then be dismissed to their own dedicated youth service.
-
A place where they can grow in God's word, they can invite their friends, build friendships, and discover out how to live out their faith outside of these walls.
-
We don't want the next generation just to attend church because mom and dad told them that they needed to come.
-
We want to equip them to reach their friends and their generation as well.
-
Amen.
-
Are we excited for what God is doing here at our church?
-
And finally, we believe that God has called us to reach more beyond these four walls.
-
Today I look at a semi-full room and my heart is filled with joy.
-
But can I tell you that there are people who may never walk into this room, they might never encounter Jesus the way that we get to encounter them.
-
But we believe that there is a message on YouTube that they can connect to, that there's a post on social media that they can connect to, that they can connect to something that maybe you share online, and we want to reach them too.
-
So we're intentionally building overflow online.
-
That's going to be one church, two expressions.
-
We have Overflow Orlando.
-
We meet here locally, but we also want to be able to develop an online campus because, church, we believe that God is uh having people looking to connect to faith and they don't know the right thing to connect to.
-
Have you seen it in your own people connecting to so many different sources but not truly connecting to the truth of God?
-
We want to make sure that we provide for them a place where they can connect, they can grow, and they connect, take their next steps of faith online.
-
We believe that everybody has a part in this church, family.
-
Everything that we shared today, I hope that is getting into your spirit.
-
This is the church that God wants to build.
-
When the word of the Lord came to us, faith, forward, spirit-led, we knew that at some point we needed to really design and define what forward meant for the context and where we were in.
-
Everything that we share today connects back to that same vision that I shared.
-
We're gonna gather around Jesus, we're gonna grow as disciples, we're gonna live his way, and we're going to overflow by helping others be able to do the same.
-
This is what I want you to understand today, family.
-
This is not just our vision, Pastor Adrian's vision, Pastor Michelle's vision.
-
This is this is a calling for each and every one of us.
-
I love what Ephesians 4, 11 through 16 says, and it teaches us, and and and it says that God gave leaders to equip his people, say his people for the work of the ministry.
-
Our responsibilities as your pastors is to equip you.
-
Say, equip me to carry out the mission of Jesus together, and that mission goes beyond what we do here on Sundays.
-
That mission goes beyond that because just like Pastor was reading in Matthew, um, there's a portion when Jesus called his disciples.
-
And what did he tell them?
-
He said, Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
-
I love that.
-
Jesus just didn't call us into something, he called us for something.
-
What did he say?
-
Come and follow me so that I can make you something.
-
There's something that God wants to make out of each and every one of us.
-
Can I tell you you came here on Sunday, you encountered him, and he was equipping you for something that's gonna go beyond this Sunday moment and this Sunday experience.
-
I love that that is what the model that he wanted us to hone in because he didn't just call people to follow him only, he also called them to reach others in church.
-
That is our heart.
-
There's a phrase that that regged me this week, and it said, Until my friends hear the gospel.
-
I'll say that again, until my friends hear the gospel, until every nation has heard.
-
I don't know about you, but if I really take the moment to think, how many of my friends haven't really heard the gospel?
-
How many of my friends have never experienced the power of the gospel?
-
We don't just want to grow in attendance, church family, even though we want to grow in attendance.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
We want to make sure that we're reaching people, we want to make sure that we're uh discipling families so those families can reach families.
-
We want to make sure that we become disciples, so as disciples, we can make other disciples because that's what multiplication is.
-
Guys, our name is a prophetic declaration that God gave Pastor Adrian and I.
-
Overflow.
-
When you think of overflow, it's multiplication, it's being able to go and and grow into the areas that we are at.
-
It's being able to take territory and overflow into those territories.
-
We believe that everyone here has a part.
-
Tell the person next to you, you got a part.
-
You got a part.
-
Tell the person that you didn't want to look at, you got a part.
-
We believe that some of you guys here, y'all are gonna open up your homes.
-
Some of you guys are gonna disciple young people, some of you guys are gonna help serve and help us reach people online.
-
We believe that everyone has a part.
-
Because maybe not everybody will do something, but everybody can pray for someone.
-
Come on, somebody, everybody can love someone, everybody can invite someone, everybody can share Jesus with someone.
-
Church family, we're inviting you to be a part of this mission.
-
I want to say it again because I wanted you to get it in your spirit, because everything that we do as a church comes and flows from this framework.
-
We're gonna gather around Jesus, we're gonna grow as disciples, we're gonna live his way, and we're gonna overflow to do the same.
-
Say it with me.
-
Gather, grow, live, overflow.
-
Today I just want to ask you, right there where you are, let's posture our hearts and let's ask God this question.
-
God, what is my part?
-
Because as a church family, we're not moving forward because we got it all figured out.
-
I'm sure you have seen other churches that have a lot more prettier uh facilities and put together programs.
-
But we are moving forward, number one, because God said faith forward, say fed forward, spirit-led.
-
We're moving forward because we trust the one that's got it all figured out.
-
Amen.
-
I'm gonna ask Pastor Adrian to come and join me because we don't just want to share vision today, we want to give everyone an opportunity to respond to what God may be speaking into your hearts.
-
I don't know about you, but these initiatives that we are faithfully moving into should be something that we should be excited about.
-
When I think about these different opportunities that God has given us as a ministry, we can't be just us four and no more.
-
While I love that I'm looking at a semi-foot room, can I tell you I still see a lot of space for people that need to be a part of this community?
-
Yeah.
-
And if we don't begin to change our hearts from a posture of what can I get, and begin to ask God, God, what is the vision that you have for my life?
-
What is the vision of the impact that my life is meant to have?
-
Because if one person alone learned how to be a follower of Jesus, become a disciple, and brought someone else to follow Jesus and become a disciple, and then that same person had that same legacy of faith and brought someone else and taught them how to be a disciple.
-
And before we look around, there's people that we would never reach and may never come to the doors of this church, but you were able to reach.
-
So when God said, Come and follow me, he didn't say just stay there following me.
-
He said, Come, I'm gonna make you fishers of men.
-
And I'm looking at a room right now full of fishermen.
-
Maybe you're sitting there and you're like, Pastor, I don't see that for myself.
-
That's right.
-
I I am an introvert.
-
I I I don't know.
-
I mean, I'm living a season of my life where I just don't want to get involved in that way.
-
All that I ask is right there where you are.
-
What's in my part?
-
In this season of my life.
-
What is my part?
-
Because I guarantee you, if you pray that prayer with sincerity and you truly allow God to speak to you, you're gonna get an answer.
-
And can I tell you a secret?
-
You know what the answer is gonna be?
-
What aligns to his word.
-
Because God is not gonna change his word for our preferences, but he gladly invites us into a journey.
-
I love that song that we sang, his way is better because his way is truly better.
-
But before we can access his way, we gotta surrender ours.
-
Church family, I'm so excited to be able to move forward together into this new season.
-
I'm excited to be able to welcome our youth into a dedicated space where they can grow in their faith.
-
I'm excited to welcome a brand new Spanish community that is also looking to grow in faith and in their spiritual family.
-
I am excited to be able to reach out online into an online campus where people can connect with what's happening here, but also wherever they are.
-
I am so excited that God said, I'm gonna use you.
-
And when I say I'm gonna use you, I mean I'm gonna use you.
-
Because you are a part of this.
-
So I'm gonna ask you to stand to your feet.
-
I believe God met us in a powerful way this morning.
-
Let's go.
-
Amen.
-
He showed up in a powerful way to remind us that he is in the midst, that he brought us here with purpose, and that he's got a word and a commissioning for us.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
-
These are the moments I gotta brush off my Spanish.
-
But it's in these these very moments, these very rooms that God begins to stretch.
-
God begins to challenge.
-
We talked about the thus far.
-
What does it look like for you thus far?
-
How much have you given God thus far?
-
Yeah, I don't believe that we follow God with okay, God, well, I'm I'm all in, but I mean, except for this part.
-
Man, God, I want to chase you, but only but this far.
-
This representation is saying, man, God, even in the areas where I was not faithful, you are still faithful to bring me through.
-
Thus far.
-
And because I'm holding the stone, I lay it down today, God, because this stone reminds me that that same God that brought me here is gonna take me there.
-
And all God is saying is, hey man, how much are you willing to surrender?
-
How much more are you willing to give?
-
And today, man, this is a simple invitation where we choose to recognize, hey man, where am I going to be?
-
What place and what position am I gonna take on mission today?
-
With your eyes closed, you can lift up your hands if you're able.
-
Lifting up our hands is simply an act of surrender, submission to the Lord, where we just say, Man, God, I don't know.
-
But you know.
-
And today, maybe the question you need to ask yourself is, man, God, is my life on mission?
-
Are you asking a little bit more of me today?
-
You want to make me a disciple, not just an attender, not just uh a couple of Sundays a month, Lord God, uh, where I can just fill a seat today, God, but you're calling me to become a disciple.
-
You're inviting me a little closer.
-
Today I began to pray, Lord God, that choose today.
-
Choose to respond to God and say, Yes, God, I want more.
-
I want more of you, I want more of your presence, I want to draw closer to you.
-
God didn't ask you if you had all the answers.
-
God didn't ask you how equipped you were.
-
God just says, Come follow me.
-
Why?
-
Because He does the equipping, He does the preparing, He will take you to places you never thought you would be.
-
I've been in rooms, I've talked to people, man, I've been in places where I never thought in a million years I would go, but all God asked me was not what I could do.
-
God simply invited me and said, Adrian, man, would you follow me today, man?
-
Can we choose to follow him?
-
Can we make a simple decision?
-
God, I want to follow you a little closer today.
-
Lord God, we just invite you right now to meet us.
-
We invite you and we thank you that your spirit was here and it has been rested in this room.
-
And I pray, just as your spirit is here in the room, I pray that you have arrested hearts today, Lord God.
-
That you're tugging on hearts today.
-
I pray today, Lord God, let this moment not pass us by, Lord God.
-
Let us be, Lord God, like the blind men today, hearing that Jesus was near, they began to shout, they began to clamor, Lord God, they began to cry out, Jesus, don't pass me by.
-
Can we cry that out today?
-
God, don't don't pass me by today, Jesus.
-
You're in the room, don't pass me by.
-
Because maybe today you walked in blind, maybe today you are that guy on the side of the road.
-
But Jesus is here, he's the healer.
-
Jesus is here, he's here to open up eyes so that you can see.
-
Jesus is here to meet you where you are in this moment.
-
So I ask again, are you willing to say, God, here I am, I want to follow you today.
-
Lord God, I pray right now, Lord God, let your spirit fall, Lord God, let your spirit come.
-
Maybe you're in the room today and you're saying, I don't know the Jesus that this guy's been talking about.
-
I don't know the Jesus that Pastor Agel talked about.
-
I don't know the Jesus that Pastor Michelle taught about, but man, I I want to know that Jesus.
-
Or maybe you're saying, Man, you know what?
-
Man, I've made it thus far, and it's literally by chance that I even made it to the room.
-
I'll tell you whether it's not by chance because God has been with you.
-
God's never left you or forsaken you.
-
That's his promise.
-
So today I want to invite you.
-
If that is you in the room, just raise up your hand and say, Man, I need Jesus.
-
I need Jesus today.
-
Here we go.
-
We got a couple people.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Let's pray a simple prayer today.
-
Repeat after me.
-
This is about an act of surrender.
-
This isn't about an act of saying, God, this gift of salvation is free, but it comes at one simple request from you is that I surrender to you right now.
-
Can we surrender in the room?
-
Repeat after me, Jesus, I come to you in need of a savior.
-
I believe today that Jesus died on the cross for me.
-
His blood was shed so that I could experience salvation.
-
And he resurrected on the third day so that I can have a new life.
-
Today I confess my sin and I receive salvation's gift.
-
In Jesus' name I pray.
-
Amen and amen.
