You're listening to a message to go from Acts Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
In Acts chapter 2, verses 1 to 4, it was
-
a grand entry of the Holy Spirit.
-
Jesus promised us His Holy Spirit. Yesu, He has come
-
to meet us and said that the Holy.
-
Spirit will come.
-
And today, if you are a believer, you have surrendered
-
your heart to Jesus wholeheartedly. The Scripture says that the
-
Spirit of God will come and dwell with you.
-
If you are a Christian, and you have come with
-
all your heart and soul, and you have entrusted your
-
life to Him, the Bible also says that the Holy
-
Spirit will dwell with you.
-
The Bible also says that our body is the temple
-
of the Holy Spirit.
-
And the Spirit of God is very precious.
-
In the Old Testament, we know that the Spirit of
-
God was only given to appointed people of God.
-
It was given to prophets. It was given to kings.
-
It was given to people that God chose us for
-
a specific purpose. But with the death of.
-
And the ascension of Jesus.
-
He told the disciples.
-
That it is to your advantage that I go away,
-
for if I don't go away, the Spirit of God
-
will not come.
-
So when Jesus was ascended right now, seated at the
-
right hand of the Father, in the seating for you
-
and me, the Spirit of God is in you. I
-
get very touched when I think about these things. It
-
shows that you and I are precious in the sight
-
of God. That he could have chose for his spirit
-
to dwell in any places.
-
But he chose you. redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus,
-
that's the primary focus, that His blood redeemed you.
-
His blood is also precious.
-
Because He has redeemed you, He then filled you with
-
His Spirit. Some of you who believe in Jesus and
-
those of you who will one day believe in Jesus,
-
you are precious.
-
All of you are precious.
-
So next chapter 2 verse 1 it
-
says When the day of the Pentecost had fully come
-
They were all in one accord and in one place
-
There came a sound from
-
heaven and of a rushing mighty wind And it.
-
Filled the whole house where they were sitting.
-
Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire,
-
and one sat upon each of them. And they were
-
all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak
-
with other.
-
Tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. So
-
we know that the disciples were commanded by Jesus himself
-
to tarry in the city of Jerusalem until they are
-
endued with power from on high.
-
Jesus did not give them a date and
-
a time.
-
To say that on 24th April, 没有说到4月24号, at 9am.
-
在晚上9点, 早上, the Holy Spirit will come.
-
The only commandment Jesus gave them was wait.
-
Not just that, wait until.
-
A sentence that many of us, we are waiting
-
for something.
-
We are waiting for a breakthrough. We are
-
waiting for an answer. We are waiting for an
-
open door. I want to prophesy over every one
-
of us.
-
That the time of suddenly will come. And when
-
it comes, there's no stopping. It will come in a
-
spectacular way.
-
Often, waiting is one of the most hardest thing to do.
-
Especially when there's no timeline. I guess when there's a timeline, it's.
-
Easier to wait Because you know the day will come.
-
But when you're told by God to wait And He
-
doesn't give you a timeline It only means one thing
-
That we should always cast our focus on Him.
-
No matter how difficult it is You see, one of
-
the things that we often feel challenged.
-
In is that we live in a world where we
-
want everything fast. Today, you call your Grab, you expect
-
your Grab to be fast. You want to watch video?
-
Last time we can five minutes watch video.
-
Now we watch reels. Few seconds.
-
But we want things.
-
To be fast. But the kingdom of God doesn't operate.
-
In the timeline of man.
-
The kingdom of God operates in his timeline.
-
And I want everyone of us here to remember that.
-
God's timeline is not man's timeline.
-
And often we want God to fit into our timeline.
-
If you're in a place where you're waiting for.
-
God, cast your eyes on Him. God will give you
-
your suddenly moment. The Holy Spirit will come.
-
Wait for Him. The word suddenly also means 那个忽然的意思呢也表达着呢 It
-
is a form of acceleration It's a time of
-
In other words, when God comes into the
-
Whatever things that you think you need X
-
amount of time to do
-
He can do it for you in that one day 他可以很快的来去帮助你.
-
He can do it for you in that one hour
-
It's like one of my weak point is worry.
-
Sometimes I get worried a lot. And it
-
affects me emotionally.
-
But whenever the Spirit of God comes, 可是当神的灵来到的时候, He
-
brings that clarity. That sometimes we can be worried
-
even about work challenges that we cannot solve. Or
-
we get worried about the assignment that we cannot solve.
-
You calculate your maths. You land it with
-
an answer.
-
You calculate again, it landed in a different answer.
-
Then you call your friend, your friend say another answer.
-
You don't know what's the answer.
-
Now this is before AI, okay? I know you're all
-
very smart one. Nowadays you just plug into AI and AI.
-
Worrying is a common human feature.
-
But when the Spirit of God comes, you can solve
-
that challenge within that hour for you.
-
He can do more than what you could have done
-
in X amount of time.
-
So today I'm going to share with
-
you three points. That I hope can position you
-
to receive your sudden moment.
-
That at.
-
The time of waiting, you should not lose heart.
-
That at the time of waiting, know that God is good.
-
He is still good.
-
The God will be glorified in any situation you
-
are going through.
-
So the first point is obedience. Turn to
-
your scripture to Luke 24. And we're going to
-
read verse 49. Luke 24 verse 49.
-
This.
-
Was one of Jesus' last commandments to His disciples.
-
Probably read from 46. After they have seen Jesus
-
resurrected from the dead, it says here, Thus it is written,
-
and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer
-
and to rise from the dead.
-
The third day.
-
Luke.
-
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
-
in His name to all nations beginning at Jerusalem. And
-
you are witnesses of these things. So what witnesses were
-
they of? They saw the crucifixion of Christ. They saw
-
that Christ was resurrected from the dead. These are.
-
Important because it validates the message of Jesus. It gives
-
credibility to Jesus' message that He is the way, the truth,
-
and the life, and that He is the resurrection and
-
the life.
-
Anyone can make any claim. But only
-
Jesus made that claim and demonstrated the claim that He
-
is above death.
-
Because of that, we have hope.
-
And then in verse 49, He told His disciples, Behold,
-
I send the promise of My Father upon you, but.
-
tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued
-
with power from on high.
-
So the word tarry basically means
-
to wait. How many of you, you are
-
waiting for something from God?
-
All of us, I believe, we are waiting.
-
So when Jesus.
-
Ascended back to heaven, He didn't give His disciples a
-
timeline on when the Holy Spirit will come.
-
Between the period of waiting and the appointed breakthrough, We
-
need to stay faithful and obedient to God.
-
Because scripture tells us in Corinthians that close to 500
-
over people actually witnessed.
-
The resurrected Christ. But only 120 are found in the
-
upper room still believing. And it's so easy to be distracted.
-
And sometimes it's easy to doubt God. I'm thinking maybe
-
in the first few days they were very excited. So
-
the Holy Spirit will come. We're going to receive power.
-
And probably by day five, They are wondering, is it
-
going to happen?
-
Then day seven. But they choose by faith to obey.
-
At the time of your waiting, God will give.
-
You a word.
-
God will give you a promise. But you got to
-
seek him.
-
You got to be diligent in reading your word.
-
You should.
-
Be diligent in asking God to reveal to me the
-
revelation of your word.
-
Because His word will come to you.
-
God is ready to give you His word. All
-
you need to do is to seek Him.
-
So be obedient. So we know that this church,
-
we believe in the gift of the Holy Spirit.
-
We make no apologies. To pray in tongues.
-
To be spirit-led. To exercise the gift of
-
the Spirit.
-
Knowledge, prophecies.
-
I remember when I was just growing
-
up in this church A few months being a Christian.
-
I began to desire the gifts of the
-
So I saw that when I came
-
I asked myself.
-
Why are all these people praying in tongues?
-
-
Every time in worship, in prayer.
-
They pray in tongues. And I begin to desire
-
it for myself.
-
I begin to desire for the gift of the Spirit.
-
Desire is one thing.
-
Understanding your desire, why you want it, is another thing.
-
So I went for classes. To study the Bible. To
-
study about the Holy Spirit. Understand what it meant to
-
have the gift of the Spirit. Because Scripture says that
-
without knowledge, people will perish.
-
Because the Bible says that without knowledge, people will perish.
-
So you must pursue the knowledge of God. Pursue the
-
right kind of knowledge. The world is also very knowledgeable.
-
The knowledge of the world may seem good. But it's
-
not God. You want to pursue your genuine breakthrough in God.
-
You got to align with His Word. So
-
I begin with the desire. I pray to God.
-
Could you give me the gift of tongues?
-
-
I pray one month. Nothing happened.
-
I prayed two months. Nothing happened. I vividly remember
-
I had two dreams.
-
In a dream, I was in a church setting. I
-
can pray in tongues.
-
When I wake up, 我醒来的时候, I feel so disappointed.
-
-
I couldn't.
-
I could do that in dream. Then another
-
dream also similar. I was desiring. I was just
-
asking God. I was very persistent.
-
Lord, your word says that whenever people pray in
-
the gift of tongues, using the gift of tongues, they
-
edify themselves and they pray directly to you in mysteries.
-
That man came, on a church service.
-
Oskana was preaching. I can't remember his message. But please
-
don't tell him. It was 20 years ago.
-
I remember he was making an altar call.
-
He said, okay, if you want to respond to the word,
-
you come. I was struggling in a certain area in
-
my life where I have a personal struggle. And
-
God needed to challenge me to go out.
-
So I went out.
-
I said, God, forgive.
-
Me of my sin.
-
Take away this condemnation. I want a breakthrough.
-
Take away this sin. Take away this addiction.
-
I was lifting up.
-
My hands before the Lord. And people around me started
-
to lay hands on me.
-
They started praying in tongues. But they are looking up.
-
He came.
-
He laid his hand on me. And then, I began
-
to utter words that I couldn't understand. And it's uncontrollable.
-
I couldn't stop. I just pray in tongues.
-
I praise God in tongues. I pray.
-
I pray.
-
So much so, the power of God came upon me.
-
I fell flat.
-
With both my hands lifted up like this. Like that.
-
And my.
-
Lips were still just generating praise to God in tongues.
-
So much so that benediction day also went ahead while I.
-
Was still there. Service ended, I was still there. And
-
then Joel Lloyd, if you know from Axe Unbound.
-
He came.
-
He have to like, when I wanted to, okay already,
-
he came, he said, bro.
-
Are you okay?
-
Are you alright?
-
-
I said, yeah, I'm okay. That was my suddenly moment.
-
Where the least I anticipated it to be God came.
-
But it requires obedience. The disciples, they obeyed.
-
They could have left. Too many people give up
-
these days.
-
Hey, seven days already. We have waited long
-
enough lah. We got a life ahead of us.
-
Let us pursue this life.
-
But, They didn't give up.
-
They waited. Sometimes it looks silly, you.
-
Know, to wait. The world will tell you, hey, why wait?
-
Let's move on.
-
Sorry?
-
Let's move on. The world is very deceiving. They will
-
offer you an alternative.
-
And the alternative may seem good. But it's not God.
-
The devil will always.
-
Find a substitute for you. The people of God must
-
be discerning and obey God. The first point is obedience.
-
Ever since the Holy Spirit came upon my life in
-
that way, Are there still struggles in my life? Yes
-
Do I still struggle with temptation? Yes But is there
-
provision now to pray in a level where it generates
-
praise and allows my spirit to strengthen?
-
Yes.
-
So the power of God will come upon you suddenly.
-
And a posture must always be in a posture of obedience.
-
When Jesus left for heaven, in Acts 1 verse 14 it.
-
Says, These all, that means 120, continued with one accord
-
in prayer and supplication with the women and Mary, the
-
mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
-
The word I want to emphasize is that they were
-
in one accord in prayer. In other words, there was unity.
-
I think the move of God always comes when the
-
church is united. So one of the last few prayers
-
that Jesus.
-
Made Father, let them be one as we are one.
-
There's power in unity. Because unity will bring agreement.
-
And agreement in the name of Jesus will yield
-
forth breakthrough. In Psalm 133, I love this scripture.
-
And today I want.
-
To share with you a principle of how the anointing
-
of God and the breakthrough of God can be passed
-
down in every level.
-
In the church.
-
So it says here, Behold how good and pleasant it
-
is for.
-
Brethren to dwell together in unity.
-
In every organization, in every family unit,
-
in every church, unity is very, very important.
-
God works as Father, Son and Spirit, they are united.
-
We can do great things when we are united.
-
And the result of unity is shown in verse 2
-
and 3. It is like the precious oil upon the
-
head running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron
-
being the high priest, running down on the edge of
-
his garments.
-
So the anointing oil, when it was being poured out
-
on the high priest's head, it will go from the
-
top of his head all the way down, flowing to
-
the garment. So when the anointing oil is poured out
-
on the priest's head, it will flow to his body.
-
Verse 3, it is like the dew of Hermon descending
-
upon the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord commanded
-
the blessing, life forevermore.
-
So when I talk about unity, I'm talking about everyone belief.
-
Because the 120, they really believed.
-
That the Holy Spirit will come. They really
-
believed that Jesus.
-
Would say what he said he would do. So
-
even in Acts 9 today.
-
When I speak about unity.
-
I'm asking us to be on the same page of belief.
-
I'm asking us to be on the same page of expectation.
-
I'm asking us to come to God with the same hunger.
-
I'm asking us to come to God with the same fire.
-
I'm asking us to be on the same page.
-
Because when we are truly believing united together.
-
I will let you know the breakthrough will start trickling down.
-
So it always starts with leaders. And when the leaders break.
-
Through, it becomes an example for people to believe.
-
And when the leaders break through.
-
It becomes an example for people to believe. When you
-
fight for your marriage, you fight for your family.
-
When you fight even in the marketplace to stand for righteousness.
-
When you stand believing for God's provision.
-
When God.
-
Opens that breakthrough, they will start flowing to every area.
-
So the breakthroughs that we desire is not just for ourselves.
-
It's meant for others. Because all of the anointing will
-
flow from.
-
The top.
-
All the way to the garment.
-
So I'm asking the church to be united, being on
-
the same page.
-
That's the second point. The third one is prayer-centered.
-
In verse 14, this all continues with one accord in
-
prayer and supplication.
-
So They wait and they did something. If you are waiting,
-
you have to do something. Because it's easy to wait
-
and do nothing. It's easy to say that I'm waiting.
-
By my heart of hearts, am I really doing something
-
while I wait?
-
So the word wait here is not waiting aimlessly.
-
It's to wait with a purpose. There's an intention set
-
in that waiting. That while you wait, You
-
expect to hear. That while you wait, You
-
expect God to speak.
-
So there are two words here used, prayer and supplication.
-
Prayer basically means drawing near to God.
-
Where you can speak to Him. So that
-
speaks about relationship. That you have a relationship with God.
-
The heart of the Father is always for you.
-
The heart of the.
-
Father is always to reveal to you His plan, His purposes.
-
His promises.
-
To hear from the heart of God is to
-
draw near to His heart.
-
So that speaks about relationship. So a lot
-
of time when we face a particular challenge.
-
The very first test.
-
That the devil will always throw at you.
-
Is a test of your relationship with God. That at
-
a time of pressure, will we still be found believing?
-
That at a time of pressure, will we still be
-
found faithful to God? Because make no mistake, the scripture
-
says that we can be faithless, but God remains faithful.
-
As we took communion earlier, the blood was shed for us.
-
It was also a sign of a covenant. What is
-
a covenant?
-
A covenant is that.
-
When we enter into a covenant.
-
With God, regardless of how we become or behave, because
-
of the covenant, God is still faithful to.
-
Take care of you God is still faithful to heal
-
you God is.
-
Still faithful to restore you So that's the covenant So
-
the first test the devil always tests is a test
-
of your relationship with.
-
God Sublication basically means is to ask earnestly because of
-
a need or a lack.
-
So in other words, Supplication is request to God. Prayer
-
is about relationship. Supplication is a request. Because you have
-
the relationship with God.
-
Because you know Jesus and He knows you.
-
You have made Him your Lord and Savior.
-
You qualify in that relationship to request from God.
-
There's nothing that God cannot do for you.
-
Nothing.
-
We want to be on the same page to
-
believe that God is a God of the impossible.
-
We want to be a church where it is
-
not dictated by what the world says about God.
-
We want to be a church that is faithful to
-
the Word and let the Word be glorified. So
-
the devil will not have the final say.
-
In the time of waiting, God will always have
-
the final say. Be ready.
-
Because he's going to pour out his spirit again.
-
It's time to hope again, friends. It's time to
-
believe again. It's time to come back to the
-
place where.
-
We repair even our prayer altar. We come back to
-
the place where you can experience His Spirit again.
-
The Spirit is in you.
-
Experiencing the Spirit is about opening our hearts for the
-
move of the Spirit.
-
He will come.
-
He will.
