-
I'm gonna read Romans chapter 12, verse 2, and I'm gonna read from the NIV.
-
If you're ready to go, say let's go.
-
Come on, man, here, let's make it do what it do.
-
We're gonna read together.
-
Ready?
-
Go.
-
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
-
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is.
-
His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
-
I'm gonna hang out at this part that says, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
-
The title of my message today is I'm about to lose my mind.
-
Can you do me a favor?
-
Can you just push the person on your right and your left?
-
Tell them, I'm about to lose my mind.
-
Father, open up our eyes and our ears that we may receive a word from you that will change and transform our lives forevermore.
-
Hind me behind your cross that your voice be louder than mine.
-
In Jesus' name we pray.
-
Everybody say.
-
Everybody say, Amen.
-
You may be seated.
-
I'm about to lose my mind.
-
Uh, we may not know each other that well right now, but we'll get to know each other as we go on this journey.
-
Uh, but there's something you should know about me, and that is I am not a fan of dogs.
-
In fact, I would say I dislike dogs.
-
I am just under saying that I hate dogs, but because I know how much some of you love your dogs, I will not disrespect you.
-
But I'm just not a fan of dogs.
-
And of course, everybody hears that and they say, Well, were you chased by a dog?
-
Of course, I was chased by a dog, but that ain't got nothing to do with nothing.
-
I just don't like dogs, but more than I dislike dogs.
-
I dislike dog owners who don't put their dogs on a leash.
-
Can I get an amen from somebody?
-
I mean the audacity, the arrogance of you walking around the neighborhood with a dog that ain't on the leash.
-
I want you to know right now, I'm the type of person, when I see somebody walking through my neighborhood, they don't got their dog on the leash.
-
I take a picture.
-
I walk to the HOA and I say, Can you find this person, please?
-
Because this person, I give them an evil look.
-
I slow down with the look like you know that's wrong.
-
And I heard all the phrases.
-
Oh, it's the friendly dog, it's the friendliest dog you're ever gonna meet.
-
You've never met a dog friendlier than that.
-
He loves everybody.
-
Well, just because your dog loves everybody, don't mean everybody loves your dog.
-
I'm sorry I'm getting free up here.
-
Free indeed, free indeed, free indeed.
-
He don't bite, don't you worry?
-
Does he have teeth?
-
Because if he got teeth, of course he bites.
-
I just don't understand people who let their dog roam everywhere.
-
I don't understand people who let their dog just go to every house, go down every street, and just hang out without a leash.
-
Pastor, why in the world are we talking about this?
-
Because I've discovered that most of us treat our mind the way people treat their dogs.
-
I mean, you let your mind just go everywhere.
-
You let your mind roam down any street.
-
Your mind can roam down Fear Street, anxiety street, offended street, comparison street, a jealousy street.
-
You let your mind go through any and every neighborhood, and at some point you got to put a leash on your mind.
-
You're supposed to put a leash on your thoughts so that when your thoughts go down a road, you don't want it to go.
-
You know how to reel it in, you know how to pull it in.
-
Just because your mind went somewhere, don't mean that's where you should let it stay.
-
I got one year and a couple of something say it one more time.
-
I said, just because your mind went somewhere, that is not the indicator that that's where you should let it stay.
-
In fact, you got to put a leash on your mind, a leash on your thoughts.
-
I say it this way.
-
Through Christ, you should have authority over your mind.
-
Okay, let me say it another way.
-
Uh your mind is supposed to be surrendered to the authority of Christ.
-
Now, when we say mind, what are we talking about?
-
We're talking about your thoughts, we're talking about your intellect, we're talking about your ability to reason, we're talking about even your imagination, that that it is supposed to be surrendered to God, that it's supposed to be surrendered to the authority of Christ.
-
Your mind is crucial, and whoever controls the mind controls you.
-
Whoever, whatever controls your mind, controls you.
-
How is that?
-
You are you are a triune being.
-
What does that mean?
-
It means that you are spirit, soul, and body.
-
When we talk about your soul, that's your mind, your will, and your emotions.
-
And here's what I've learned walking this life with Christ.
-
When the enemy wants to attack you, one of the first places that he chooses to attack you in is in that soul area in your mind.
-
Some of you, you he didn't he didn't attack your body, he he didn't attack your spirit, he's attacking your mind.
-
There are some of you right now in this room where the battle you are in is in your mind.
-
I mean, sitting in this room, but in your mind you are at war.
-
And the mind battle is one of the toughest battles because it's the battle can't nobody see.
-
See, if it was your body, we can see you can barely get up, you can barely walk, you're limping.
-
We we hear you coughing, but but when it comes to your mind, you can be sitting in the worship service, praises all you're but your mind's saying, now you know you're not good enough.
-
Now you know you're not worthy.
-
Now you know you shouldn't be singing those lyrics.
-
Now you know good and well, you should be the last person with your hands lifted.
-
I mean, you could be surrounded by people, just keep kidding and laughing and girl, oh my god, oh my god, and in your mind, literally saying, You know, these people don't care about you.
-
You know, the only reason why they even like you because what you do for them is soon as you stop doing stuff for them, they're only here, they're playing, they're faking, they don't really like you like that.
-
It is possible that you can get everything you prayed for, get everything that you asked God for, and now all you do is just imagine ways that is going to be taken away from you.
-
For some of you, you had so much peace when you were broke.
-
Now that you got some money, you're more paranoid than ever.
-
Why are you so paranoid?
-
Because all of a sudden my mind is being attacked, and now all I can think about is what I have being taken from me.
-
But this is why the Bible says, whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.
-
And my assignment today is to get you some freedom in your mind.
-
If I'm talking to you, somebody say, Amen in this place.
-
This is why, this is why I read, this is why I read, I read, I read Romans chapter 12, verse 2, because in Romans chapter 12, verse 2, Paul says, Do not be conform to the pattern of this world.
-
What does that word conform mean?
-
That word conform means to shape.
-
It means don't let your mind be shaped by the patterns of this world.
-
Let me say it this way: don't let your mind be shaped by the pattern of your world.
-
Some of us, your world shaped your pattern of thinking.
-
And now you have to figure out is this pattern of thinking biblical or is it shaped by something that I did not expect?
-
For some of you, uh, your pattern of thinking was shaped by your family.
-
Mom got her heart broke by dad, and it created something called an inner script on the inside.
-
What is an inner script?
-
An inner script is a a series of stories that we tell ourselves to form what we believe.
-
So your mama got hurt by your dad, and so because mom got hurt by dad, you created an inner script that said, all men are dogs, all men are nothing but uh uh a scum, uh, don't ever trust no man.
-
And because mom got her heart broke by dad, something that began when you was 15, now you are 50 and bitter about a man you never had, but you imagine the scenario so often you think it's real.
-
What's happening?
-
I have let a pattern of this world.
-
I have been shaped by a pattern of my world.
-
For some of you, it's entertainment.
-
Come on, you grew up on MTV Cribs, you were raised on Pimp My Ride.
-
Every song you listen to, get that money, get that money.
-
Money, pay pop money, paypack, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get that money, get that money.
-
So now you formed an inner script that says I'm only valuable based on how much money I have.
-
And if I don't have no money, then it means I have no identity.
-
So you did like 50 cents and tried to get rich or die trying, and you dying.
-
Why?
-
Because I had this inner script that was formed by something I saw for some of you, you did live in a house with a good father, you lived in a house with a good mom, but dad never showed no emotion, he never cried, never got sad, never got happy, was never up, was never down.
-
And so you grew an inner script that said, Don't ever show no emotion, showing emotion is weak.
-
Uh, don't ever cry, and all those different things.
-
And you gotta stop and say, Wait a minute, was I formed by scripture or was I formed by my upbringing?
-
Was I formed by scripture or was I formed by family?
-
Was I formed by scripture, or do I let MTV dictate dictate who I am?
-
And God is saying, Hey, this is why I love what Paul says, because Paul says, Hey, be he transformed by the renewing of your mind.
-
Paul says, Whatever pattern you have had up to this point, you gotta be transformed.
-
What how how and I love it because he says, How do you become transformed?
-
He says, You can become transformed by the renewing of your mind, which means if you're gonna change your life, you gotta change your mind first.
-
Look at your neighbor and say, He's preaching to you.
-
Can you sit up and say amen or something?
-
I know that we're trying to change our behavior, but sometimes it's hard to change a behavior when you don't change the mindset connected to the behavior.
-
Paul is saying, if you want to see transformation, we got to get into your mind, we got to change the way you think.
-
Because if I can change the way you think, I can change how you behave.
-
That's why you got to keep coming to church because what we're doing, I don't care about amens, I don't care about you standing, jumping, yelling, screaming, shouting, or none of it.
-
What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to penetrate your mind.
-
I'm trying to get you to think differently, I'm trying to get you to see differently because if you can see a greater picture, you can live a better life.
-
Somebody say amen to that in this place.
-
So, Pastor, okay, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right.
-
I gotta be renewed, I gotta renew, I gotta be transformed.
-
How do I do that?
-
Let's write this down.
-
Number one, you gotta renew your mind.
-
Come on, everybody say renew your mind.
-
That word renew means new.
-
God wants to make your mind new.
-
To renew means to make fresh, it means to make something like new, to begin again.
-
It means to start from scratch.
-
Now, let's not do the church thing.
-
Man, hill, let's not do the church thing.
-
Pastor, what's the church thing?
-
The church thing is when we say church phrases, we say it with this level of boisterous authority, and really we don't understand the meaning.
-
We say stuff like, renew my mind, renew your mind, and we say that, and we told me you've got to put a tattoo.
-
Hey, hey, be ye transformed, by the renewing of your mind.
-
But can we stop lying?
-
It's so hard to renew your mind.
-
Can we can don't do the church thing where you just smile at me?
-
Is it anybody getting rid of an old mindset is hard?
-
Getting rid of an old mindset is one of the hardest things you ever have to do.
-
Harder than losing weight, Patrick.
-
Harder than losing weight.
-
It's easier to lose 100 pounds than it is to lose a mindset that's been comforting you all your life.
-
See, that's the reason why it's hard to get rid of an old mindset, because an old mindset did fit you at one point.
-
The problem is you are trying to take an old mindset into a new season.
-
And that mindset doesn't fit who you are becoming.
-
And I'm watching people who have a mindset that helped you survive in your last season, but it's preventing your growth in your new season.
-
Oh, this is good.
-
This is good, man.
-
Hill, this is good.
-
I'm I'm trying to help you.
-
There are some of us in this room, it's a mindset that fit who we were.
-
That was great in your 20s, you're 30 now.
-
That was great in your 30s, you're 40 now.
-
That was great in your 40s, you 50 now.
-
That was great in your whole grandma.
-
You can't think like that no more.
-
Just because you darken up your hair and try to look young, you you can't think like that no more.
-
I I give you, I'll give you, I'll give you, I'll give you some examples.
-
I give you some examples of just mindsets that we have sometime that that we just gotta, we gotta, and they it's hard to let go of.
-
One of the mindsets is I just do everything myself.
-
I just do everything myself because I'm just every time I let somebody else do something, it falls apart.
-
And so I'm not I last time I put somebody in something in somebody's hand, they screwed it up, they messed it up, they jacked it up, and so that's it.
-
I'm just gonna do it myself.
-
I do everything myself.
-
I just don't care.
-
I I'm just I'm tired of handing stuff to people and they're not showing up and they're not there.
-
Now, hear me, that served you in your last season, but it's killing you in this one because where God is taking you now, you're gonna have to learn how to delegate, you're gonna have to learn how to trust somebody.
-
But if you keep holding on to this mindset that I do everything myself, and yes, I get it, it served you at one season of your life.
-
You did have to do everything yourself, and you did have to depend on you, and you did have to count on you, and it got you through that season.
-
But just because it got you through that one, it's gonna kill you in this one.
-
In this season for what God has for you today, for what God has for you now, you're gonna have to get some people to walk with you through this.
-
I'll give you another one.
-
Another one is is is don't don't never let them see you struggle, never let them see you struggle, don't ever let them see you sweat, don't never let them see you, don't never let them see you struggle, don't let them see you sweat, don't let them see you weak, never let them see you cry, don't ever let I get it, I get it, I get it.
-
For where you grew up, you have to be careful how you let people see you.
-
You sometimes you have to say, I can't walk around weak.
-
I get it, but now you too grown to say, don't ever let them see you struggle, never let them see you cry, never let them, never let them, no, never let them, nah.
-
I'm all good.
-
I'm what I'm all right, nah, I'm good.
-
No, no, you ain't good.
-
No, some of you need to let somebody see you struggle.
-
You you don't you need to say, Help, help me out.
-
Forget, never let them see you sweat, never let them see you cry, never let them see you struggle.
-
I understand how that served you before, but you're in a season now where you need some help.
-
You're in a season now where you can't carry stuff by yourself no more.
-
You're in a season now where you gotta get some people around you.
-
You you you it's different now.
-
I I'll give you another one.
-
Another one is is is is I have to accomplish this thing uh by a certain age.
-
I gotta accomplish this by a certain age.
-
If I don't accomplish it by this age, then I'm I'm a failure.
-
If I don't get it done by 21, then I don't even need to live.
-
Come on, come on, come on.
-
Some of you, I if I if I don't, if I don't get it done by the time I'm 30, then I'm nothing.
-
If I don't get it done by the time I'm 40, I'm nothing.
-
I'm just I'm just nothing.
-
And so, and so and so you gotta get your mind free.
-
I'm about to set some people free because many of you are being held hostage by a timeline God never gave you.
-
Ah, who told you you have to do it by 21?
-
Who told you that?
-
Where'd you get that from?
-
Who said that by 21, I've gotta have it done this way?
-
And if not, can I can can I can I, if you're in your 20s, can you raise your hand?
-
If you're in your 20s, can you raise your hand?
-
Can I get some notice and saints to look at these people and tell them, calm down, you're gonna be alright?
-
I'm 27, I don't even want to come out my room, I don't even want to have a birthday.
-
It's not done by 20.
-
Calm down, shut up.
-
If you don't be quiet, who gave you that timeline?
-
I I promise you, I'm not trying to brag, but I really do believe I'm living my dream life.
-
If you don't like my life, that's fine.
-
But I promise you, I I feel like I'm living my dream life.
-
I'm not exaggerating.
-
I when I see y'all, I've been dreaming of this my whole life.
-
Standing on this stage feels like a dream to me.
-
Seeing you and you looking at me, that's like a dream to me.
-
When when I when I when I when I when I play with my son uh in the morning, that's like a dream to me.
-
When I'm I'm hanging out with my daughter, I've always dreamed about being a father.
-
And so it's like a dream to me.
-
When y'all saw my wife, y'all saw how she looked.
-
When she came up here, y'all see what I'm living with.
-
Y'all see what's going on in my house.
-
You know what I'm dealing with.
-
That's like a dream, always dream.
-
I'm living my dream.
-
I'm living, I'm living my dream.
-
I really do.
-
I I look at my life sometime, I say, man, this is what I prayed for, this is what I dreamed about.
-
But please hear me.
-
None of this happened in the timeline I thought it would.
-
Nothing.
-
Nothing.
-
Everything came at a different timeline.
-
And I just sense the spirit of the Lord in this moment to set you free from some deadlines.
-
We're gonna have to bury some deadlines that God did not give you.
-
God said, You gotta renew your mind and renew your timeline because God says, I didn't, he said, I'm gonna bring it to pass.
-
It's gonna happen, but it may not happen at the timeline you came up with.
-
That's something society gave you, that's something your family gave you, that's something that you're trying to prove some haters in your life wrong.
-
But God said, No, ain't I ain't worried about the haters, I ain't worried about what mom and them said.
-
God says, I got a timeline that's better than yours, and renewing your mind sometime is God, I gotta get this thing that I gotta accomplish it at the timeline I thought.
-
Am I talking to somebody in this room?
-
Come on now, you gotta let that thing go.
-
You gotta God, it's not that it's never gonna happen.
-
God says that's not the timeline that I gave you.
-
God said that timeline did not come from me.
-
And to be honest, can I be honest with you?
-
Thank God He didn't give it to me 20 years ago.
-
I would have messed all y'all up.
-
Are you crazy?
-
You know what kind of pastor I would have been?
-
It would have been horrible.
-
Sometimes God knows a better timeline because he knows the season of your life where you are mature enough, you've been hurt enough, you've been broken enough, you've been through storms enough, you've been beaten up enough to handle what God's got to bring into your hand.
-
And I came to preach to somebody to say, renewing your mind is to say, God, if you want to do it in a different time frame, then that's okay with me, because I trust your will over mine.
-
I get it.
-
It served you before, but it don't serve you no more.
-
You've heard the you've heard the famous, you've heard the famous story of the of the of the mom uh who's teaching her daughter how to cook the pot roast.
-
And so, and so they should cook a daughter how to cook the pot roast, and they cut the ends of the pot roast.
-
And the daughter says, Mom, why why do we cut the ends of the pot roast?
-
And mom says, I have no idea.
-
Uh, that's what my mom did, and so I do it too.
-
And so they said, Let's call grandma.
-
They call grandma, say, Grandma, why you cut the ends of the pot roast?
-
Grandma said, I have no idea.
-
My mother taught me to do it that way, and that's how I taught y'all.
-
Let's call great grandma.
-
They call great grandma.
-
They say, Great grandma, why you cut the ends of the pot roast like that?
-
She said, Well, I cut the ends of the pot roast because at that time we didn't have a pot big enough to handle the pot roast that we were putting in the oven.
-
She said, So I understand why I did it.
-
She said, Now I don't know why you fools keep on doing it, but you should probably buy a pot big enough just to put the pot roast in.
-
And how many things are you thinking and doing?
-
Grandma did it and dad did it, and I don't know why I think this way.
-
I don't know why I have this mindset, it was just passed down to me, but you don't even know why they had that mindset.
-
Maybe that mindset was what they needed for the life they had, but it don't fit the life you have, and you got to determine God speak to me now and renew my mind based on where you have me today.
-
This is why the Bible says in Ephesians chapter 4, verse 23 through 24 says you were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.
-
Watch this to be made new.
-
Where?
-
Where in the attitude of your mind or in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness, you gotta renew your mind.
-
Push your neighbor and say, renew your mind.
-
No, can you use your elbow, the sharp one, and say renew your mind.
-
After you renew your mind, here's the second thing you gotta do: you gotta replace your thoughts.
-
I don't talk about this often, but it's a principle that I live by, and it's something that I don't hear talk about that much.
-
But you gotta understand that you gotta replace your thoughts.
-
Here's what you can't do.
-
You can't say, I hear you, Pastor, I'm not gonna think nothing.
-
Watch, I'm not even gonna let my mind not think.
-
I'm not gonna not, I'm not gonna think, I'm not, I'm not gonna think, I'm not gonna think.
-
Have you ever tried not thinking?
-
Even when you ask somebody, what you thinking about, and they say nothing, what they really saying is, I don't want to share it with you, but I was thinking about wrestling an alligator in the ocean.
-
I don't know why, but it just didn't feel like it fit this conversation.
-
Matter of fact, let's try it right now.
-
I want you to try not to think.
-
Don't don't think, don't think, don't think, don't think about a pink elephant.
-
Don't think about a pink elephant with polka dot shorts.
-
Whatever you do, don't think about a pink elephant with polka dot shorts on a little bike.
-
Whatever you do, do not picture a pink elephant and polka dot shorts on a little bike with a little horn.
-
Hung honk, whatever you do, do not think about an elephant, pink elephant, polka dot shorts on a bike, honk honk with a horn with an orange hat.
-
Whatever you do, don't think about it.
-
Now, how many of you are picturing what I'm talking about?
-
Try it, don't think about a burger.
-
Don't think about a cheeseburger, don't think about a double make patty though.
-
Don't think about cheese grease dripping down.
-
Come on, Patrick.
-
Don't think about a burger fries.
-
Don't think about dipping the fry in the ketchup.
-
Just a little crunch, crunch on the outside, soft potato on the inside.
-
Don't think about the burger, burger, shaker, shaka, shaka, shaker.
-
Don't think about it.
-
Somebody say, I'm going, I'm going to give me a burger after this.
-
Hear me, you cannot not think nothing.
-
The only way to you can only change a thought with a thought.
-
The only way to get rid of a wrong thought is to replace it with the right one.
-
The only way to get rid of an old thought is to replace it with a new one.
-
Because hear me, let me tell you about your thoughts.
-
Your thoughts, manhill, are like squatters.
-
You ever had a tenant who would leave?
-
That's a squatter.
-
That's somebody.
-
You gotta evict them.
-
There's some thoughts in your mind that linger.
-
In fact, they try to hold on forever.
-
And here's what's scary a thought can hide itself.
-
Without your permission.
-
If you try to get rid of a thought, a thought will find a hiding space in your mind.
-
And it will not budge or move until it's time to ruin something in your life.
-
Let's practice.
-
Let's practice.
-
I I I've never done this before, but we're gonna we're gonna practice.
-
I might fall on my face, but let's see, let's see, let's see.
-
If if you know this, if you know this, just finish it for me.
-
800 588 2003.
-
Here's my question.
-
When did you learn that?
-
When did you sit down and say, 800 58823?
-
When did you when did you how what class did you go to to teach you that?
-
How long did it take you to memorize that?
-
But without your permission, that thing jumped into your thoughts.
-
You didn't even know it was there until a trigger came and pulled it out.
-
And I'm trying to figure out how many thoughts has the enemy shown into your life that you don't even know it's there until something triggers you and it shows up that says you're worthless, and it shows up to say that your future is hopeless.
-
But you gotta take authority over your mind and renew your thoughts because there are thoughts in there that don't belong there.
-
If I'm talking to you, say amen.
-
No, you gotta figure out why that thought is in my head.
-
That's why you gotta guard your mind.
-
That's why I can't talk to everybody.
-
It's not that I think I'm better, it's I'm trying to guard what goes in my head because I can't let you show a thought in me that I'm gonna spend the next five years trying to get rid of.
-
That's why I'm not reading everything.
-
This is why I don't play around with certain stuff.
-
I don't I'm not trying to play around with a psychic reading, I'm not trying to play around with tarot cards, I'm not trying to play around with a horoscope, I'm not putting, I'm not letting nobody show thoughts in me that are contrary to the word of God.
-
I'm not in every group chat, I can't be a part of it.
-
I think there are some songs I'm not opposed to you listening to some secular song, but there's some secular song I can't listen, I can't get that in my head, I don't want that in my mind.
-
I understand we see some movies, but there's some movies you gotta say, I gotta get up from this one.
-
This one, I can't let this get in my mind.
-
I can't laugh at this, I can't sit and eat popcorn while the enemy is infiltrating my mind.
-
But because I got a Pepsi and some popcorn, I'm just letting him have access.
-
You gotta guard your mind, and you give your mind to everybody, anything can enter into your mind.
-
That's that's why that's why there's something called an algorithm.
-
Because the algorithm is telling you what the rhythm of your mind is, and it's trying to feed your mind as much as it possibly can.
-
So just know there's a come called algorithm.
-
So when you say pastor, I don't get on social media because the only thing I see on social media is half-dressed women.
-
Well, that's your algorithm.
-
And what your algorithm is saying, that's what you like.
-
That's what you like.
-
Because on my algorithm, I see preaching, preaching, preaching, bishop cookies preaching, preaching, preaching, Oreos preaching, preaching, preaching.
-
Because that's what I like.
-
What am I saying to you?
-
I'm saying to you, you gotta guard your mind.
-
That's why the Bible says in Philippians chapter 4, verse 8, it says, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever's true, whatever's noble, whatever's right, whatever's pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, what does it tell you to do?
-
It says, think, think, think, think about these things.
-
In other words, you'll get to tell your mind what we're thinking about.
-
And no, we're not thinking about that.
-
That's why you got to get in this word as much as you can, because this word is like a weapon for your mind.
-
It's a weapon for your old thoughts.
-
And when you get in this word, it starts just not to change your behavior, it starts to renew the way you think.
-
You start saying, wait a minute, wait, wait, wait a minute, wait, wait, wait a minute.
-
If God be for me, then oh my Lord, who can be against me?
-
Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait, a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but that thing's not coming near me because whoever dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
-
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, my rock and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.
-
Wait a minute, I'm blessed in the city, I'm blessed in the field, I'm blessed when I come in, I'm blessed when I go out, I'm the head, not the tail, I'm above, not beneath, I'm the lender, not the burrow.
-
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
-
He's gonna make me lie down in green pastures, he's gonna lead me beside the still waters.
-
Goodness and mercy, gonna follow me all the days of my life.
-
Wait a minute, healing is the children's bread by his stripes.
-
I am healed.
-
All things are possible for him who believes.
-
Wait a minute, what am I doing?
-
Let God arise and let my enemies be scattered.
-
What am I doing?
-
What am I thinking?
-
Wait a minute.
-
I wish I had somebody in the room that knows how to grab this word and say, Word, replace every wicked thought, replace every crazy thought, replace every thought, wash your mind with the word.
-
I abide in him, and he abides in me.
-
I can ask what I wish, and it will be done unto me.
-
For God so loves the world that he gave his one and only begottenly son.
-
Whoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
-
Do I got anybody in the room?
-
If so, let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
-
What am I doing?
-
Why am I this low?
-
Let me grab this Bible that says not to worry about my life.
-
Be anxious for nothing, but through all things by prayer and supplication, make your request known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.
-
It's gonna guard your heart and your mind.
-
He said, if you open up this word, he'll give you a peace that'll guard your mind.
-
Right now, you got a mind with no gate, you got a mind with no security, you got a mind with no protection, but you gotta grab this word because this word will replace every crazy thought that tries to come to your mind.
-
Y'all gonna think I'm crazy.
-
There was a season of my life where I wanted this Bible so bad, I would go to sleep just like this.
-
I say, God, put this Bible in my head.
-
God let this Bible speak to me.
-
Oh, Pastor, you're doing too much.
-
No, you're not doing enough.
-
Because whenever you've been in a mental battle, you know that you gotta get this Bible and get this word and put it in your head.
-
Come on, say my mind will be free.
-
Come on, say my mind will be free.
-
Here's my last point.
-
Not only do you have to renew your mind, and not only do you have to replace your thoughts, but my last point is you gotta reject every lie.
-
Hey, I feel the presence of the Lord in this place.
-
You gotta reject every lie.
-
This might be the most important thing I say to you all here.
-
And it is this.
-
Just because the thought came to your mind don't mean you have to own it.
-
I'm about to set you free.
-
Just because the thought came to your mind don't mean you have to act on it.
-
Just because the thought came to your mind, not every thought deserves your agreement.
-
Not every thought deserves your attention.
-
Not every thought deserves your response.
-
Not every thought deserves for you to make a decision.
-
You ever had to ignore your own thoughts?
-
Because you knew the thought was out of pocket.
-
I mean, sitting here talking to somebody who you can't stand, just thinking, if I could I want to slap you in the face right now.
-
If I could slap the taste out of your mouth, I would.
-
I mean, your thoughts just gone, just slap that taste right out of his mouth.
-
I just want to slap you so bad.
-
You're gonna say, God bless you.
-
I wish I could slap you right now.
-
Come on now.
-
You you you you ever you ever been at the store and the self-checkout?
-
Wait a minute.
-
Wait a minute.
-
And your mind says, just throw it in a bag.
-
Just throw it in the bag.
-
Ain't nobody gonna know.
-
It ain't like I didn't try, I tried to beat it, it didn't beat.
-
I tried to scan it.
-
Maybe that was God.
-
Maybe God said, these bananas are these bananas are yours.
-
Eat and be merry.
-
And your mind saying, just throw it in the bag, keep on moving, but you're like, no, no, no, we're not gonna do that.
-
We're not gonna do that.
-
Come on, sometimes, sometimes you ever have a remark to say back to somebody, clap back.
-
That's just right there.
-
Your mind said, boom, just boom.
-
And you have to check your mind.
-
You you you gotta that's you gotta be able to tell your mind no.
-
You gotta be able to say, hey, that's a lie from the enemy.
-
You gotta say, that ain't that ain't that ain't true.
-
That ain't true.
-
Just because a bird flies over your head, don't mean you should let it build a nest in your hair.
-
Just because a bird flies over your head, doesn't mean you should let it build a nest in your hair.
-
Meaning, just because a thought came to your mind don't mean you should let it stay there, linger, and build something in your mind.
-
So when that thought that comes to you that says, Well, you know, life has passed you by and you know you missed your window, no, that's a lie.
-
I don't believe that.
-
That is that's that's not the truth.
-
When when that lie that says, Oh, well, you're not valuable till you get married, no, that's a lie.
-
That is not true.
-
I am valuable right here, single, just as I am.
-
I'm fine.
-
Well, well, you know, maybe God don't love you because you don't have no children yet.
-
No, that's a lie.
-
I'm getting that right out of my mind.
-
Well, maybe you know, you your season is back.
-
No, that's a lie.
-
I'm getting that out of my mind.
-
You gotta learn how to reject every lie that the enemy sends your way.
-
Stop thinking every thought is yours, stop thinking every thought you have to linger on.
-
No, some of these thoughts you gotta say, get that out of my mind.
-
That's why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5, it says, We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
-
You gotta learn how to take every thought captive, you gotta learn how to say, Hey, that's not the way I'm thinking, that is not what the word of God tells me.
-
And here's why it's so difficult because sometimes when you think something you feel it, and sometimes you feel like because you feel it, it's real.
-
But you cannot trust all your feelings.
-
Just because you feel rejected, don't mean you are rejected.
-
Just because you feel overlooked, don't mean you are overlooked.
-
What is happening is that a thought was planted in your mind that you were rejected, it created a feeling like you were rejected, but you got to get in the truth of God's word and tell your feelings I'm ignoring you for a second, and speak to your mind and say, No, God loves me, God's watching over me.
-
I have not been rejected, but God has my life.
-
You gotta do what my mom told me to do when we were younger.
-
I was raised in a time, Pastor Ron, I don't know how it was for you, but I was raised in a time where parents, you know, they left their kids at home by themselves.
-
It didn't matter what age they were.
-
That's your generation, sir.
-
That's that's what you just said.
-
Five years old, six years old, my mother left us at home.
-
Yeah, yeah, I got you.
-
And my mother used to leave us at home seven, eight years old.
-
And my mother used to say, she used to say, she used to say, Don't don't open the door and don't pick up the phone.
-
And I said, But mommy, what if the phone rings?
-
It'll just it'll be ringing.
-
And she said, let the voicemail pick it up.
-
And you gotta do what what my mama said, you gotta stop picking up every call.
-
When fear calls you, you gotta send it to voicemail.
-
When that ex who you know is toxic and is just trying to pull you backwards, do not pick up that phone, send it to voicemail.
-
You you gotta when when fear, when when depression starts calling you, you gotta send it to voicemail.
-
In fact, I remember the voicemail on my mother's message is when we actually left our voice on our voicemails.
-
She said, You reached uh the home of Emma Bullock, and uh, and uh we're not home right now, uh, but if you can leave a message, uh we'll return uh as soon as we can at our earliest convenience.
-
Just leave a message at the beat.
-
Exactly.
-
And so, and so for you, I wrote a voicemail just just for you, so so that when you keep getting these phone calls, I want you to send it the voicemail.
-
And here's what I want you to set up your voicemail for your mind.
-
I need you to say hi.
-
You reached the voicemail of a child of God, uh, the person you are looking for can no longer be reached at this number.
-
Please remove this number from your calling list as we are no longer accepting any more calls from you.
-
If for whatever reason you still like to leave a message, you can do so at the beep.
-
I wish I had somebody that got a beep in your spirit.
-
When fear calls you, beep, when anxiety calls you, beep, when jealousy calls you, beep, when comparison calls you beep, when your past tried to call you, beep.
-
I wish you sent every lie to a voicemail.
-
You got the wrong number.
-
I used to answer that call, but I don't answer that call no more.
-
I'm a different person, I'm a different creation.
-
Do I got anybody in the room ready to send some lies to voicemail?
-
God, I wish I had somebody say, I'm about to lose my mind, I'm about to lose my depressing mind, I'm about to lose my struggle mind, I'm about to lose my low self-esteem mind.
-
I'm about to lose the mind that was pulling me down, I'm about to lose the mind that told me I'd be a failure.
-
I'm about to lose that mind.
-
In fact, I'm declaring in this room that God's about to give you a new mind.
-
You're about to have the mind of Christ.
-
Dreams are coming back to your mind, vision is coming back to your mind, ideas are coming back to your mind.
-
God is about to renew your imagination.
-
Do I got anybody in the room that says, God, give me a new mind?
-
I speak to early dementia, I speak to every brain, cancer, tuma in your head.
-
I declare you're gonna sleep tonight.
-
Whatever's been happening in your mind, I'm declaring in the name of Jesus, God put a hedge of protection around our mind, put a hedge of protection around my thoughts, put a fit around my imagination.
-
Can I get somebody in the room?
-
Whether you're standing or sitting, right there in your seat, say, God, give me my mind back, give me the mind of Christ, give me the mind of wisdom, give me the mind of the spirit, give me a mind of integrity, give me a mind of power, I rebuke worry, I rebuke fear, I rebuke anxiety, I rebuke this thing that don't let you sleep.
-
I rebuke the thoughts that's going crazy in your head.
-
I take your mind back in the name of Jesus.
-
We're gonna get your mind back.
-
I declare you're gonna think free, that your mind's gonna be free.
-
Ideas are coming your way.
-
I don't care how old you are, your mind's about to be refreshed, your mind's about to be updated.
-
God, give me my mind back.
-
I feel like I'm in a prison.
-
Give me my mind back.
-
I feel like I'm in a war.
-
Give me my mind back.
-
I feel like I'm in a struggle.
-
God, let me lose my mind.
-
Come on, let me pray for you.
-
Everybody say, Holy Spirit, speak to me.
-
The sermon is listening.
-
Come on, some of you have been in a real battle.
-
Just open up your hands.
-
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for everybody, North Charlotte and Minnhill.
-
God, I pray this mental storm that seemed like it's been lasting forever.
-
I pray that you give us the ability to destroy this stronghold in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
God, I pray you would refresh our mind, that you would refresh our thoughts.
-
People who have stopped dreaming, people who have stopped seeing vision, people who have stopped thinking about the future with faith, people who have literally given up in their head.
-
God, I pray any mental health disease, any mental health struggle, God, I'm praying by your stripes.
-
That's why the crown of thorns was placed on your head.
-
It was placed on your head to give us freedom in our mind as a reminder that even our mind can be redeemed, even our mind can be renewed in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
And so, Father, we thank you right now and we praise you right now for renewing our minds.
-
Now I need everybody to sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down.
-
Everybody sit down.
-
If you're in this room and you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I need every head bow, every eye closed.
-
Just give me the next few moments because this is an important moment in our church and in our service.
-
If you're in this room and you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, nobody's staring at you, nobody's looking at you.
-
Can you just being you in this room?
-
Can you do me a favor?
-
If today you want to make him the Lord of your life, you want to give Jesus the wheel to your car, to let him be in the driver's seat, to let him guide you.
-
If that's you and you want to be saved today, just do me a favor, just throw your hand up, put it back down right where you are.
-
Just throw your hand up, put it back down.
-
I see your hand, brother.
-
I see your hand, sister.
-
I see your hand, brother, I see your hand, sister.
-
I see your hand, I see your hand, I see your hand.
-
If you're in the room, it's just it's just you and God.
-
Trust me, it ain't got nothing to do with nobody else seeing your hand.
-
If God sees your hand, that's all that matters.
-
If you're in this room and you want to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, and you're saying, today's my day, I need to do me a favor.
-
Just lift your hand up, blow it back down.
-
Just lift your hand up, throw it back down.
-
I see y'all, I see y'all, I see you, I see you, brother, I see you, sister, I see you.
-
If you're in this room and maybe you've been saved, but you want to recommit your life to the Lord today.
-
You're sitting here in church, you're saying today needs to be a fresh start.
-
I need to renew my commitment to God.
-
I've kind of gone away from God, but today I'm coming back home.
-
If that's you, can you just throw your hand up, put it back down?
-
Throw your hand up.
-
I see your hand.
-
I see your hand, I see your hand, I see your hand, I see your hand.
-
If you raise your hand on any of those invitations, we are all gonna pray this prayer together and we're gonna watch you experience life transformation like never before.
-
Come on, let's all pray together.
-
Come on, say, Father, thank you for loving me.
-
I need everybody.
-
Come on, say, Father, thank you for loving me.
-
Thank you for sending your son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die for me.
-
Today, I surrender my life, I surrender my heart, and I surrender my mind.
-
My past is gone.
-
Today is a fresh day, today's a new start.
-
I believe Jesus is Lord, and today I give you the will.
-
Take control of my life.
-
Be my Lord and my Savior.
-
I am yours and you are mine.
-
In Jesus' name we pray.
-
Come on, everybody, say amen.
