  1. Amen.

  2. Amen.

  3. Okay, we're in 1 Corinthians chapter 9.

    1 Corinthians 9 chapter mention

  4. Look down at your Bibles in verse 1.

  5. It says,

  6. Am I not an apostle?

  7. Am I not free?

  8. Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord?

  9. Or not ye my work and the Lord?

  10. If I be not an apostle unto others,

  11. ye doubtless I am to you,

  12. for the seal of my apostleship are ye in the Lord.

  13. And the time I started this morning

  14. is in defense of the apostle Paul,

  15. in defense of the apostle Paul.

  16. Go to Acts 24, if you will.

  17. We're going to come back to 1 Corinthians chapter 9

    1 Corinthians 9 chapter mention

  18. towards the end of the sermon.

  19. So put a pen or a piece of paper there in 1 Corinthians 9

  20. and go to Acts chapter 24.

    Acts 24 chapter mention

  21. Galatians chapter 1 verse number 1 says,

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  22. Paul an apostle, not of men, neither by man,

  23. but by Jesus Christ,

  24. and God the Father who raised him from the dead.

  25. Galatians 1 verse 11 says,

    Galatians 1:11

  26. But I certify you, brethren,

  27. that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man,

  28. for I neither received it of man,

  29. neither was I taught it,

  30. but by revelation of Jesus Christ.

  31. There seems to be a resurgence of a fringe group of heretics

  32. that are bent on discrediting the apostle Paul.

  33. Okay, this is actually something that's

  34. very popular on social media right now.

  35. And they're essentially asserting that the apostle Paul

  36. was one of the great cancers of Christianity.

  37. He's the one responsible for corrupting Christianity,

  38. causing it to deviate from the ways of Jesus.

  39. They view him as a false prophet.

  40. And this heresy has obviously taken many forms

  41. throughout the centuries,

  42. but it's actually currently being promoted by those

  43. who adhere to what's called Christ consciousness.

  44. Okay, Christ consciousness is essentially

  45. a New Age esoteric interpretation of Christianity.

  46. It's basically Hinduism within Christianity.

  47. It takes concepts and doctrines of Christianity

  48. and corrupts it through Eastern mysticism.

  49. And it basically interprets Jesus Christ

  50. not as being the Son of God as the Bible clearly teaches.

  51. It interprets him as being simply a messenger,

  52. a spiritual leader that can help you

  53. gain inner transformation, okay?

  54. Inner transformation, spiritual awakening,

  55. enlightenment, and that's all that he's good for.

  56. And the most common way to describe this position now

  57. is basically anti-pollinism.

  58. Now I remember about 15 years ago or so,

  59. I was in a church plant

  60. and my father-in-law, who was just my pastor at the time,

  61. he was preaching and then we had a visitor come

  62. and the guy came, he left,

  63. and then he just started emailing the church,

  64. just kind of blasting the church.

  65. And he was like, you guys are so ridiculous.

  66. I can't believe you guys are quoting Paul.

  67. You guys are for Paul.

  68. What's with you guys in Paul?

  69. And I'm thinking to myself, Paul,

  70. you mean because Paul's in the Bible?

  71. Like, because he is responsible

  72. for the majority of the New Testament?

  73. Like what's your beef with Paul?

  74. And he just went on this crusade of just attacking Paul.

  75. And I remember just kind of responding back to him

  76. because I was in charge of like the emails at the time.

  77. And I was just saying, hey,

  78. the apostle Paul was called by Jesus Christ.

  79. He preached the same gospel

  80. and this guy would just not let up.

  81. And I thought it was the most ridiculous thing

  82. I've ever heard.

  83. I'm like, man, I've never heard of this before

  84. but this is something that's been common

  85. even over the last 2000 years, believe it or not.

  86. People who simply reject Paul's authority

  87. and this is common today.

  88. In fact, there's a heretic right now

  89. by the name of Aaron Apke, okay?

  90. He's on social media.

  91. Doesn't have a massive following necessarily on Instagram

  92. but he does have a massive following on YouTube.

  93. And this guy is all about attacking the apostle Paul,

  94. discrediting his writings,

  95. claiming that he's a heretic,

  96. that he teaches contrary to Jesus Christ

  97. and he brings up all these railing accusations,

  98. all of these railing accusations against Paul.

  99. But when you look at this guy's channel,

  100. you see this guy isn't just an absolute false prophet,

  101. false apostle, heretic

  102. that believes in astral projection.

  103. He believes in this eastern mystic type of meditation,

  104. just rejects the word of God

  105. and you think to yourself,

  106. well, what's the problem then?

  107. You know, if this guy is that,

  108. who's gonna fall for this?

  109. Well, apparently a lot of people are.

  110. And I've had many people send me videos

  111. saying, hey, can you respond to this guy?

  112. This guy's teaching some weird stuff

  113. and I don't really know how to answer this.

  114. He's bringing up all these slanders

  115. against the apostle Paul.

  116. And look folks, obviously I know that in this church

  117. no one's gonna be carried about

  118. with that type of wind of doctrine.

  119. And if you're thinking to yourself,

  120. well, I do think he has some valid points,

  121. then you need to go ahead

  122. and get your astral projection out of here.

  123. Astral project out of this church

  124. and go somewhere else.

  125. This is not the church for you, okay?

  126. Because at the end of the day,

  127. you know, if you reject the apostle Paul,

  128. you're essentially rejecting Jesus Christ

  129. because he came in the name of Jesus Christ

  130. just as if you were to reject the apostle Peter,

  131. the apostle John, right?

  132. Any of the New Testament writers,

  133. if you reject them as being authoritative,

  134. then you're basically rejecting the entire word of God

  135. because they were inspired by God

  136. to write the word of God.

  137. And they say nothing in contradiction

  138. to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

  139. They were appointed by Jesus Christ, okay?

  140. So this guy has some of the most egregious accusations

  141. against Paul.

  142. He calls him a false prophet.

  143. He states, I quote,

  144. I think he was an overt narcissist

  145. who was obsessed with his own teaching.

  146. Okay, so aside from astral projection,

  147. he just likes to project period, right?

  148. He's projecting who probably who he is.

  149. He obviously believes that Jesus is not the Son of God.

  150. He's just a great messenger,

  151. a teacher that is used for enlightenment.

  152. And again, this position has been held by heretics

  153. over the last 2,000 years,

  154. albeit it's been in different,

  155. under different names and titles.

  156. But you have, for example,

  157. in the second century,

  158. a group called the Ebianites, okay?

  159. This is a group of Jewish slash Christians

  160. who rejected the writings of the apostle Paul.

  161. They held to the Mosaic laws

  162. and they sought to continue to carry out those laws.

  163. And of course, they deviated from the doctrines of Christ.

  164. But of course, as we know,

  165. you know, because this is something

  166. that's common throughout the Bible,

  167. we know that this is simply a concerted effort

  168. by Jews, okay?

  169. Throughout history to dismantle Christianity

  170. by attacking those who spearhead the movement of their time.

  171. And make no mistake about it,

  172. the apostle Paul is one of the greatest Christians

  173. of the New Testament writings.

  174. And we would even say

  175. that he's probably one of the greatest apostles

  176. out of all of them,

  177. because he did the most work.

  178. And you know, this guy would listen to that,

  179. like, oh, you're just worshiping Paul.

  180. No, just real, recognize real, okay?

  181. Give honor where honors do.

  182. And according to the Bible,

  183. we see that God used them extensively.

  184. He used them greatly

  185. to not only get a bunch of people saved,

  186. to start a bunch of churches,

  187. but also to pen down a large portion of the New Testament.

  188. And look, folks,

  189. you can do a study on the epistles of Paul

  190. in comparison to the Gospels,

  191. and they line up perfectly.

  192. And you know what's great about that?

  193. Is the fact that the Gospels,

  194. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,

  195. were actually written.

  196. We're talking about pen down

  197. well after the apostles of Paul were written down.

  198. So the epistles of Paul were some of the first

  199. writings of the New Testament to be written down.

  200. And then years later,

  201. the Gospels were written down.

  202. Even though the Gospels

  203. highlight events that took place

  204. prior to the apostle Paul.

  205. You say, what's the significance of that?

  206. Well, the apostle Paul's writings

  207. match up with what you see in

  208. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

  209. You know what that tells me?

  210. It tells me that the Bible tells,

  211. what the Bible says,

  212. that all scripture is given by inspiration of God.

  213. It's profitable for doctrine,

  214. for approval, correction, and instruction,

  215. and righteousness,

  216. that no prophecy of the scripture

  217. is of any private interpretation

  218. for holy men of God's sake

  219. as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  220. The apostle Paul,

  221. he's a great guy, but you know what?

  222. Ultimately, God is the author of the Bible.

  223. He doesn't need to write things

  224. in chronological order

  225. in order for it to make sense

  226. because he can inspire someone

  227. to write these things down

  228. and be accurate about them, okay?

  229. So the apostle Paul is great.

  230. No problems with him.

  231. We see the seal of his apostleship.

  232. And in this sermon,

  233. I want to go ahead and defend some of these,

  234. defend against some of these egregious attacks on him

  235. that people are making today.

  236. Apostle Paul is no stranger

  237. to this type of rejection and persecution.

  238. I mean, we find people slandering the apostle Paul

  239. all the way in the book of Acts, right?

  240. Look at Acts chapter 24, if you would,

    Acts 24 chapter mention

  241. in verse number five.

  242. Acts 24, verse five says,

  243. for we have found this man,

  244. referring to Paul,

  245. a pestilent fellow

  246. and a mover of sedition

  247. among all the Jews throughout the world

  248. and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes

  249. who also had gone about to profane the temple

  250. whom we took

  251. and would have judged according to our law.

  252. Now, this is one of many examples

  253. where people were attacking Paul

  254. saying that he was preaching heresy.

  255. He was trying to get people to deviate

  256. from the law of Moses.

  257. He's a ringleader.

  258. He's a pestilent fellow.

  259. He's a heretic.

  260. People wanted to kill him.

  261. And what is this proof of?

  262. Is it proof that he's a heretic?

  263. No, it's proof that all that will live godly

  264. in Christ Jesus

  265. shall suffer persecution.

  266. And look, folks, there's a difference between

  267. being persecuted for things

  268. that you're preaching that doesn't line up

  269. with the Bible

  270. and being persecuted for things

  271. that do line up with the Bible.

  272. You see, what's the difference?

  273. The difference is we have the Bible

  274. to compare,

  275. we have the writings of Jesus Christ

  276. that we can compare

  277. to the life and writings of the apostle Paul

  278. and see that they match up perfectly.

  279. Okay?

  280. You know, the apostle Paul

  281. is inspired by God.

  282. He is a man of God.

  283. One of the greatest apostles.

  284. And we're going to look at some of the

  285. accusations this morning.

  286. Go to Romans chapter 3

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  287. if you would.

  288. Romans chapter 3.

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  289. Now all this is pretty basic

  290. and you will have no problem

  291. understanding this.

  292. So if anything, you're just going to

  293. learn and become more grounded

  294. in your understanding of the apostle Paul.

  295. But we are also equally

  296. just going to debunk a lot of these

  297. accusations that are made against them.

  298. So what are some of the contradictions

  299. that this guy is stating

  300. that the apostle Paul has?

  301. Now let me say this.

  302. This is a part one.

  303. Part two is going to be tonight

  304. because there's so many accusations

  305. against Paul from this guy

  306. that I'm going to preach

  307. the second half tonight.

  308. Number one is that

  309. Paul contradicted Jesus

  310. concerning salvation.

  311. Paul contradicted Jesus

  312. concerning salvation.

  313. Jesus taught salvation

  314. through good works

  315. and keeping the commandments

  316. whereas Paul introduced justification

  317. by faith without works.

  318. Now what's interesting about this

  319. is this guy is promoting this like crazy.

  320. He's like Jesus taught

  321. you have to keep the commandments

  322. in order to be saved.

  323. The apostle Paul did not teach that.

  324. Now those who teach a workspace

  325. salvation within mainstream Christianity

  326. just have to know

  327. you associate with people like that.

  328. You associate with the astral projection

  329. group out there

  330. that believes that salvation

  331. is by works

  332. and it's by keeping of the

  333. mosaic commandments.

  334. That's what it is.

  335. Why?

  336. Because it's simply repackaged

  337. and given to another false prophet

  338. to preach that false gospel.

  339. He says,

  340. oh Jesus taught

  341. a different salvation

  342. then Paul

  343. they contradicted one another.

  344. Look at Romans chapter three

  345. verse seven if you would

  346. and again this accusation

  347. there's nothing new under the sun.

  348. The apostle Paul has always been accused

  349. of preaching a false salvation

  350. a false gospel.

  351. Look at verse seven

  352. for if the truth of God

  353. hath more abounded

  354. through my lion to his glory

  355. why yet am I also judged

  356. as a sinner?

  357. And not rather look what it says

  358. as we be slanderously reported

  359. and as some affirm that we say

  360. let us do evil that good may come

  361. whose damnation is just.

  362. Now this is a common accusation

  363. from those who do not believe

  364. in salvation by grace to faith alone.

  365. They say, oh one saved always saved.

  366. So what you're saying

  367. is that you can just believe

  368. and live however you want.

  369. Let us do evil that good may come.

  370. But what does the apostle Paul say?

  371. He said that's a slanderous report

  372. because the Bible simply teaches

  373. that yes we're saved

  374. despite the fact that we're sinners

  375. despite the fact that we are encapsulated

  376. by the corruptible body

  377. but the Bible also teaches

  378. that there's consequences to our sin

  379. here in this world.

  380. So the Bible says

  381. whom the Lord loveth he chastened it

  382. and scourged it every son whom he received it.

  383. That's what the Bible tells us, right?

  384. And in fact there's instances in the Bible

  385. both Old and New Testament

  386. where God kills his people.

  387. Hebrews chapter 10 tells us

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  388. vengeance belongeth unto me saved the Lord

  389. and again the Lord shall judge his people.

  390. What does that mean?

  391. It means God will kill you.

  392. You know the Bible tells us

  393. in 1 Corinthians chapter 3

    1 Corinthians 3 chapter mention

  394. that if you defy the temple of God

  395. him shall God destroy it.

  396. Over and over again

  397. we see God judging people for their sins

  398. but you know what we don't see in the Bible

  399. is people losing their salvation.

  400. It's a slanderous report to say

  401. oh one saved always saved

  402. automatically equates to

  403. you could just live however you want

  404. and what's funny about that

  405. the irony in that statement

  406. is that most people who make that statement

  407. are living however they want.

  408. Most people who make that statement

  409. and that accusation

  410. are living a godless life

  411. a sinful wicked life

  412. they are these holier-than-thous

  413. pharisaical types

  414. that want to get on people

  415. for believing in the grace of God

  416. that can save a sinner

  417. who believes on him

  418. but then you go on their Instagram

  419. and they're drinking,

  420. fornicating and running

  421. with those that do.

  422. Kind of nonsense is that.

  423. What do we see here in Romans chapter 3?

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  424. The Apostle Paul is basically addressing

  425. what people have said for a long time

  426. even what this guy is saying

  427. oh he's teaching

  428. that you can just live however you want

  429. no consequence in hell and so forth.

  430. Folks the Gospel of the Apostle Paul

  431. is the same Gospel as Jesus Christ

  432. but to him that work if not

  433. but believe it on him

  434. to justify it the ungodly

  435. his faith is counted for righteousness

  436. and let me just remind you

  437. that in Romans chapter 4

    Romans 4 chapter mention

  438. he's also addressing

  439. two men of the Old Testament

  440. that believed by faith

  441. Abraham and David, right?

  442. The Bible says in Romans 4

  443. that Abraham believed God

  444. and it was counted into him for righteousness.

  445. What is that? It's called faith alone

  446. and of course it addresses

  447. King David as well

  448. and the fact that he described salvation

  449. as being forgiven of past, present

  450. and future sins.

  451. Not only that

  452. Ephesians 1 tells us

  453. the Apostle Paul writing to the

  454. Church of Ephesus

  455. states in whom you also trusted

  456. after that you heard the word of truth

  457. the Gospel of your salvation

  458. in whom also after that you believed

  459. you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

  460. And we have Ephesians 2 verse 8 through 9.

    Ephesians 2:8–9

  461. Now he would look at those passages

  462. and say yeah exactly see

  463. he's teaching this faith alone thing

  464. he's teaching this by grace

  465. he's teaching all you have to believe

  466. all you have to do is believe

  467. but Jesus' message on salvation

  468. is completely different.

  469. He says you have to keep God's commands.

  470. Now go to John chapter 3

    John 3 chapter mention

  471. if you would go to John chapter 3

    John 3 chapter mention

  472. and we're going to go to Mark 10 in just a bit

  473. this Mark 10 is the

  474. passage that he uses

  475. to demonstrate that we have to keep

  476. God's laws and commandments to be saved.

  477. Now look folks the same guy will point to

  478. Matthew, Mark and Luke

  479. for passages on salvation

  480. and to prove his form of salvation

  481. because of the fact that

  482. Matthew, Mark and Luke

  483. have the term repentance

  484. over and over again.

  485. And we're for the word repentance

  486. amen.

  487. And he asserts that well when it says

  488. repentance

  489. repentance is equal to

  490. repenting of your sin

  491. but the phrase repent of your sin

  492. does not exist in the Bible

  493. it only exists in the mind of heretics

  494. who oppose it into the scriptures right.

  495. You'll see the term repentance all the time

  496. it's a biblical term

  497. it's a biblical concept

  498. it's biblical for those who are already saved

  499. but it's also biblical for those who are not saved.

  500. The difference is repentance

  501. in the context of salvation

  502. means to change what you're believing in

  503. to turn from what you're trusting in

  504. and then place your faith in Jesus Christ.

  505. It does not mean all across the board

  506. repent of your sin

  507. because if it did then we would have an issue

  508. since God is recorded as being the one

  509. who repents more than any person in the Bible

  510. and God has no sin

  511. and yes there are instances

  512. in the Old Testament where you can point to

  513. portions of scripture where the Bible commands

  514. people to repent and it is to repent

  515. of their sinful ways

  516. but it's never in the context of salvation

  517. you say what's the point

  518. the point is that he goes to

  519. Matthew, Mark, Luke in order to

  520. substantiate this claim

  521. to assert that the Bible tells us to repent

  522. and he completely stays away

  523. from the book of John

  524. Now look folks if you ever want to explain salvation

  525. and put the cookie on the bottom

  526. shelf for someone

  527. for them to plainly understand

  528. go to the book of John

  529. is it any coincidence that

  530. when a missionary goes to a particular area

  531. where the Bible does not exist

  532. they first translate Romans

  533. and the book of John

  534. I'll tell you why because the book of John

  535. is made, it's created

  536. it's written in such a way

  537. that it makes salvation very understandable

  538. to the unregenerated

  539. why because it uses this term over and over again

  540. believe

  541. Now look at John chapter 3 verse 14

    John 3:14

  542. Jesus speaking here says this

  543. and as Moses lifted up the serpent

  544. in the wilderness

  545. even so must the Son of Man be lifted up

  546. that whosoever

  547. believeth in him should not perish

  548. but have eternal life

  549. funny how he just didn't mention that verse

  550. verse 16

  551. for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son

  552. that whosoever believeth in him

  553. should not perish but have everlasting life

  554. back to back

  555. in case you didn't get it the first time

  556. he repeats it the second

  557. in case you misinterpret the first time

  558. he gives it to you the second

  559. and what is it believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

  560. you won't go to hell you will have eternal life

  561. that's Jesus speaking

  562. goes on the same verse 17

  563. for God sent not ascended to the world to condemn the world

  564. but that the world through him might be saved

  565. he that believeth on him

  566. is not condemned

  567. but he that believeth not is condemned already

  568. because he has not believed

  569. in the name of the only begotten son of God

  570. I think we all only have to believe

  571. I think that's what

  572. the same I think what the Bible

  573. explicitly saying here is that we have to place

  574. our faith in Jesus Christ which is exactly

  575. what believe means

  576. oh the devils believe

  577. yeah but the devils

  578. okay so what does that say about you

  579. you ever thought about that

  580. oh the devils believe so what does that say about you

  581. that you can't even believe

  582. complete

  583. demons and devils

  584. who are eternally destined

  585. for hell are capable of believing

  586. but you're not

  587. think about that for a second

  588. you know people constantly

  589. want to criticize the importance of believing

  590. on Jesus Christ why because

  591. they're prideful and arrogant and they think they can

  592. get themselves to eternal life

  593. and to have him by their own works by their own merit

  594. not by works of righteousness which we have done

  595. but according to his mercy he saved us the Bible says

  596. go with me

  597. if you would to John chapter 5 verse 36

    John 5:36

  598. of John chapter 3 says

    John 3 chapter mention

  599. he that believeeth on the sun hath everlasting life

  600. he that believeeth not the sun shall not see life

  601. but the wrath of God abideth on him

  602. I mean that's simple

  603. that's so simple that a 5 year old could understand

  604. that you believe

  605. you go to heaven you don't believe

  606. you go to hell very simple

  607. and look folks this is saturated throughout the book of John

  608. okay look at

  609. John chapter 5 verse 24

    John 5:24

  610. verily verily I say unto you

  611. he that heareth my word

  612. and believeeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life

  613. and shall not come into condemnation

  614. but his past

  615. from death unto

  616. life go to John chapter 6

    John 6 chapter mention

  617. John chapter 6 let's just read a couple verses here

    John 6 chapter mention

  618. John chapter 6

    John 6 chapter mention

  619. and verse 40 it says here

  620. and this is the will of him that sent me

  621. that everyone would see at the sun

  622. and believeeth on him may have

  623. everlasting life

  624. and I will raise him up at the last

  625. day go to John chapter 11

    John 11 chapter mention

  626. John chapter 11

    John 11 chapter mention

  627. I'm going to continue reading in John chapter 6

    John 6 chapter mention

  628. and verse 47

  629. Jesus says once again

  630. verily verily I say unto you

  631. he that believeeth on me hath everlasting life

  632. so folks if the Bible is constantly

  633. saying believe believe believe

  634. you have everlasting life believe believe believe

  635. and then you run into a passage that says

  636. repent then you need to

  637. interpret that passage on repentance

  638. in light of these other passages

  639. that talk about believing

  640. if you have 10 passages in the Bible

  641. that clearly say

  642. you have to trust in Jesus Christ to be saved

  643. and you have one obscure passage

  644. that seems to deviate from the narrative

  645. and it doesn't but you're interpreting it

  646. as though it is

  647. then you have to interpret that one

  648. in light of the 10 passages to tell you have to believe

  649. that's the proper way to interpret things

  650. you don't interpret

  651. the 10 based upon the one statement

  652. you don't interpret

  653. 20 passages of scripture

  654. that clearly communicate salvation

  655. in light of one obscure passage

  656. and let me just tell you something

  657. false prophets love to go

  658. to obscure passages in the Bible

  659. to teach foundational doctrines of the Christian faith

  660. Jehovah's Witnesses

  661. when they talk about salvation they go to Ecclesiastes

  662. what are you doing there bro

  663. Ecclesiastes is not for salvation

  664. it's for like depressed people amen

  665. all is vain you know

  666. you don't go to the book of Ecclesiastes

  667. you don't go to the preacher in Ecclesiastes

  668. to try to figure out how to be saved

  669. when God has invested

  670. so much into these

  671. New Testament writers

  672. that are not seen through a glass darkly

  673. when it comes to salvation

  674. that are clearly communicating it

  675. and look I would even say

  676. if you want to do a deep dive on salvation

  677. you don't go to the Old Testament

  678. you go to the New

  679. because the New Testament

  680. is the Old Testament revealed

  681. the Old Testament

  682. is the New Testament concealed

  683. now obviously we know that these things

  684. were written for our admonition upon whom

  685. the ends of the world are come

  686. the Old Testament is there to teach us things

  687. but it has to be interpreted through

  688. New Testament writings

  689. why because the New Testament is the revelation

  690. that Jesus Christ and the apostles

  691. have given to us in order to interpret these things correctly

  692. the point being here

  693. is that the book of John

  694. is saturated with clear statements

  695. on how to be saved

  696. and it uses this one word over and over again

  697. believe

  698. look at John 11 verse 25

    John 11:25

  699. it's one of the best passages

  700. of scripture that communicates salvation here

  701. you can highlight it, write it down

  702. memorize it

  703. verse 25 says Jesus said unto her

  704. I am the resurrection and the life

  705. he that believeth in me

  706. though he were dead

  707. yet shall he live

  708. now what does he mean by that

  709. he means that salvation not only justifies the soul

  710. but in turn

  711. in the future will also

  712. resurrect the body

  713. so even though someone is dead who previously believed

  714. on Jesus Christ they will live again

  715. it's called the resurrection

  716. look at verse 26

  717. and whosoever liveth and believeth in me

  718. shall never die

  719. believeth thou this

  720. so he is saying those who have died in Christ

  721. they will live again

  722. but if you're living in you believing

  723. you'll never die

  724. now obviously the people who are listening to that physically die

  725. but at that point

  726. they go into category number one

  727. category number one

  728. is those who are dead but they believed

  729. they will live again

  730. what is it referring to? it's referring to the fact that salvation brings

  731. everlasting life

  732. not just of the soul but even of the body

  733. as well and it's all contingent upon what?

  734. believing on Jesus Christ

  735. it sounds like

  736. the apostle Paul and Jesus agree

  737. if

  738. the apostle Paul is saying

  739. that we need to trust

  740. that we need to believe

  741. that we need to have faith

  742. it sounds like it's in conjunction with Jesus is saying

  743. in the book of John that we have to believe as well

  744. and look folks

  745. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

  746. these gospels

  747. they essentially address the same events

  748. but they are written and geared towards

  749. different people groups

  750. Matthew is geared towards the Jews

  751. in Israel at large

  752. you could read the book of Matthew

  753. that's why it's so negative towards Jews

  754. there's a ton of parables within the book of Matthew

  755. towards Jews because it's communicating

  756. Jesus Christ as being the king

  757. whereas the book of John

  758. isn't necessarily for Jews

  759. it's for those all around the world

  760. it's for Jews, Gentiles

  761. it's for everyone and it's mainly

  762. to communicate that Jesus Christ

  763. is the son of God who comes from heaven

  764. and is able to redeem you

  765. through your faith in him

  766. now go to Mark chapter 10

    Mark 10 chapter mention

  767. this is the supposed passage

  768. that Aaron

  769. Apke

  770. claims

  771. is in contradiction

  772. of what the apostle Paul taught

  773. and of course he's not going to go to the book of John

  774. he's not going to go to John 3.16

  775. and let me just tell you

  776. you go to some unregenerated person in this world

  777. and you ask them about

  778. quoting Mark 10

  779. I don't know what to say

  780. Mark what?

  781. when you talk about John 3.16

  782. most people know what verse that is

  783. I mean I can't tell you how many times

  784. I've gone soul-winning I'm not going to door

  785. and I quote John 3.16

  786. and a lot of times people just finish the verse for me

  787. even though they're not saved

  788. why? because it's a popular verse

  789. for a reason

  790. it's one of the most popular verses

  791. in the Bible

  792. along with Genesis 1.1

  793. and that's intentional

  794. I believe God allowed John 3.16

  795. to be a very popular verse

  796. in this world

  797. because God wants all men everywhere to believe

  798. and

  799. he's leaving himself with the witness

  800. so nobody in this world can say

  801. well I never heard the gospel

  802. if you know John 3.16 you basically heard the gospel

  803. because it's telling you all you have to do is believe

  804. now obviously we want to be a little more extensive than that

  805. we want to be thorough in our gospel presentation

  806. I'm just saying John 3.16

  807. is saturated within the culture

  808. people know what it is

  809. people know what it states

  810. even if they quote a modern version of it or something

  811. they know

  812. somewhat of what it's stating there

  813. and all you have to do is believe

  814. now look at Mark 10 verse 17

    Mark 10:17

  815. this is the example that he gives here

  816. it says in verse 17

  817. and when he was gone forth into the way

  818. there came one running and kneeled to him

  819. and it asked him good master

  820. what shall I do

  821. that I may inherit eternal life

  822. boom this is the checkmate right here

  823. right

  824. and Jesus said to him why call us down me good

  825. there is none good but one that is God

  826. thou knowest the commandments do not commit adultery

  827. do not kill do not steal do not bear false witness

  828. defraud not honor thy father

  829. and mother

  830. and he answered and said to him master

  831. all these have I observed for my youth

  832. up so first and foremost this guy

  833. obviously did not observe

  834. honesty

  835. because no one is able to keep

  836. these commandments perfectly right

  837. there is only one perfect man

  838. who has ever existed and that is Jesus Christ

  839. everyone else even in the Old Testament

  840. there is not a just man upon earth

  841. that doeth good and sineth not

  842. verse 21 then Jesus

  843. beholding him loved him

  844. and said unto him one thing

  845. thou lackest go thy way

  846. sell whatsoever thou hast

  847. and give to the poor and

  848. thou shalt have treasure in heaven

  849. and come take up the cross and follow me

  850. now notice he didn't say do this and you'll be saved

  851. he said do this and you'll have

  852. treasure in heaven

  853. treasure is something that you earn right

  854. it's not something that is freely given

  855. to you you have to earn this

  856. it's kind of like a wage that you get

  857. for the things that you do and then he says

  858. take up your cross and follow me

  859. verse 22 and he was sad at that

  860. saying and went away grieve for he had

  861. great possession so

  862. this is his text verse to prove

  863. oh Jesus is teaching

  864. that you have to keep the law

  865. in order to be saved

  866. well if that were true then why did

  867. God only list like a few commandments

  868. I mean is it only a few

  869. that we have to keep

  870. because he's asserting oh yeah you have to keep the law

  871. Jesus said you have to keep these commandments

  872. why didn't he go through all the commandments

  873. because if that were true and we

  874. obtain salvation through the observance of the law

  875. then he would have to just quote the entire thing

  876. not just a few

  877. and in fact according to their standards

  878. Jesus is cherry picking what commandments

  879. we can keep and which ones we can disregard

  880. but this is

  881. not what he's teaching okay

  882. what he's doing here is he's essentially stripping away

  883. the self-righteousness of this person

  884. and he's also revealing

  885. what this person is actually

  886. trusting in for salvation

  887. now let me prove that to you look at verse

  888. number 23

  889. Jesus looked round about

  890. and said to his disciples

  891. how hardly shall they that have

  892. riches enter into the kingdom

  893. of God

  894. so he's saying here it's likely

  895. that people who are wealthy in this

  896. world they're not going to get

  897. saved okay so

  898. we're all in good hands in this regard

  899. according to that standard okay

  900. but he's saying you know it's not

  901. you know it's just going to be really difficult

  902. and hard for people who are

  903. wealthy they're rich to enter

  904. into the kingdom of God

  905. and look at the response of the disciples verse

  906. 24 and the disciples were astonished

  907. at his words

  908. they're like what and I don't know why they're

  909. astonished they're not rich you know

  910. but Jesus answer it

  911. again and say them to them

  912. children

  913. how hard is it for them that

  914. trust in riches

  915. to enter into the kingdom

  916. of God so now he's bringing

  917. clarification

  918. to this entire dissertation that he had

  919. with the rich young ruler

  920. what was the problem with the rich young ruler

  921. he's trusting in his riches

  922. for salvation

  923. why because people who are wealthy

  924. people who have riches

  925. people who have great possessions

  926. feel like they don't need anything

  927. they feel like well I have everything

  928. I don't need religion

  929. I don't need this that and the other

  930. and this is why according to the Bible

  931. it's better for us to go

  932. to the poor to give the gospel because

  933. they're far more receptive

  934. that's why you're here amen

  935. you're here listening to the word of God

  936. you know it's better to go to the

  937. brokies of this world

  938. give them the gospel because they're

  939. actually receptive towards the gospel

  940. I like going to the ghettos to

  941. go preach the gospel

  942. I like going to section A housing to

  943. go preach the gospel

  944. why because people are really receptive

  945. there you couple that with gang violets

  946. oh man it's a super receptive

  947. area

  948. because they're near death all the time

  949. they don't got nothing they're broke

  950. they are near death and they

  951. are very receptive

  952. whereas go ahead and go to

  953. these rich neighborhoods here

  954. in orange county and find

  955. some really receptive people in the

  956. gated communities if you could even get in

  957. some of the most

  958. unreceptive people to the gospel are

  959. those who have a lot of money

  960. because they don't feel like they need God

  961. I mean if riches brought

  962. people towards God then what's

  963. with all these billionaires why they're so evil and wicked

  964. you know I'll tell you why

  965. because of the fact that money corrupts

  966. the love of money is the root

  967. of all evil and

  968. so we see here that what Jesus Christ

  969. is teaching is not that you have to keep

  970. the commandments to be saved he's using

  971. that in order to demonstrate

  972. that he has no self-right

  973. he has no righteousness in and of himself

  974. and then the man begins to justify

  975. himself and of course Jesus because he's

  976. God knows what he's putting his faith

  977. in for salvation for eternal life

  978. and that's why he tells him to go sell his possessions

  979. he goes away grieve because

  980. he has great many possessions and then

  981. Jesus uses him as an illustration and says

  982. see this guy's trusting in his riches

  983. that's why he's not going to enter into the kingdom of God

  984. let's read on here it says

  985. in verse 25 it is easier

  986. for a camel to go to the eye of a needle

  987. than for a rich man

  988. to enter into the kingdom of God

  989. and they were astonished out of measure

  990. saying among themselves who then can be saved

  991. Jesus looking upon them saved

  992. with men it is impossible

  993. but not with God for with God

  994. all things are possible so the kingdom of God

  995. isn't closed to

  996. the rich man right

  997. people of wealth can enter into the kingdom of God

  998. they just need to recognize

  999. that you know having food and raiment

1000. let us therewith be content

1001. and recognize that riches can only do so much

1002. yes money answer with all things

1003. in general that's what Ecclesiastes teaches us

1004. but you know what it cannot redeem your soul

  1005. okay

1006. but here's the thing folks you know we have to

1007. explain what this passage means

1008. because it is an obscure passage of scripture

1009. so how do we do it

1010. do we just stick to this portion of scripture

1011. in order to understand salvation

1012. no we need to read it in light of the other

1013. portions of scripture in the book of John

  1014. to properly interpret this

1015. because Mark is not contradicting John

  1016. John is in contradicting

1017. John is in contradicting Mark, Matthew

1018. or Luke they're both saying the same thing

1019. but they're emphasizing different aspects

  1020. of Jesus' teaching okay

  1021. and so wrong portion

1022. of scripture to go to

1023. go with me if you would to Acts 21

1024. Acts chapter 21 and then we're going to go to

    Acts 21 chapter mention

  1025. Ephesians chapter 2

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  1026. Ephesians chapter 2

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  1027. the book of John

  1028. demonstrates

  1029. that Jesus Christ taught

1030. that you have to believe on him to be saved

1031. now you say what does that guy do with these passages

1032. like the book of John that clearly say that

  1033. well

1034. what this guy does is that he'll claim

  1035. that the gospels

1036. are written retroactively and therefore were influenced

1037. by the apostle Paul's gospel

1038. and that's why these have the term

  1039. like believe and grace

1040. and such things like that

1041. so and it's just like

1042. but aren't you saying that we're supposed to disregard

  1043. Paul and just

1044. only go with the gospels

1045. so how does that work how do we only go with the gospels

1046. but then you claim that the gospels

1047. are being influenced by the apostle Paul

1048. it sounds like you're just a heretic

  1049. you sound retarded

  1050. okay because

1051. at the end of the day here's a great way to explain it

  1052. it's just all God's word

  1053. okay

  1054. and so

  1055. Jesus and Paul

  1056. preach the same gospel

1057. and again he brings this accusation

1058. oh the apostle Paul said in Galatians one

1059. that if someone else preaches another gospel

1060. let him be a curse he's basically calling Jesus a curse

  1061. no because Jesus

1062. preaches the same gospel as he does

1063. they both preach the same gospel

1064. John the Baptist preach the same gospel

1065. and in fact John the Baptist talked about the baptism

1066. of repentance in the book of Acts

1067. the apostle Paul renders that as

1068. believing on Jesus Christ because that's exactly

1069. what it is that's exactly what it means

  1070. okay accusation number

  1071. one that Paul taught

1072. a different salvation than Jesus

  1073. accusation number two

  1074. Paul abolished the law

  1075. that Jesus stated he

1076. would not abolish Jesus said

1077. he did not come to destroy the law whereas Paul

1078. supposedly taught Christians to completely

  1079. abandon it okay so

  1080. he claims that Paul

  1081. hates the law he's

1082. seeking to abolish the law

1083. and and you know he hates

1084. the law whereas Jesus Christ elevated

1085. the law now you're in Acts 21

1086. let me read to you from Acts 18

1087. these are some of the

1088. same accusations that people were making

1089. in the book of Acts verse 12

1090. of Acts 18 says and when Galileo

1091. was the deputy of Akhaya

1092. the Jews made insurrection one

1093. accord with one accord against Paul

1094. and brought him to the judgment seat

  1095. saying this fellow

  1096. persuadeth men

1097. to worship God listen to this

  1098. contrary to the law

1099. so this is already existed even in the book of Acts

1100. a bunch of Jews already saying

1101. that Paul hey he's trying to get people to disobey

1102. Moses trying to get people to disobey

  1103. the law okay

1104. and by the way the Jews were doing this towards Jesus

  1105. look at Acts 21

1106. if you would Acts 21 verse 26

    Acts 21:26

  1107. then Paul took the

1108. men verse 26 and the next

1109. day purifying himself with them entered into the

  1110. temple to signify the

1111. accomplishment of the days of purification

1112. until that an offering should be offered for

  1113. every one of them

1114. and when the seven days were almost ended

1115. the Jews which were of Asia

1116. when they saw him in the temple stirred up

1117. all the people and laid hands on him

1118. crying out men of Israel

1119. help this is the man

  1120. that teacheth all men

  1121. everywhere against the people

1122. and the law and this

1123. place and further brought Greeks

1124. also into the temple and have polluted

  1125. this holy place

1126. now the funny thing about this is that

1127. they're claiming the apostle Paul is teaching contrary to the law

1128. yet in verse 26 we have the apostle

  1129. Paul observing the law

1130. how is that he's purifying himself

1131. he's going into the temple but they're like

1132. oh no he's teaching people contrary to the law

  1133. it's just a slanderous report

1134. and this slander has existed

1135. for thousands of years it's still around today

1136. go to Ephesians 2 if you would

  1137. Ephesians chapter 2

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  1138. while you're turning there

1139. I'm going to read to you from Matthew chapter 7

    Matthew 7 chapter mention

  1140. Matthew chapter 5 verse 17

    Matthew 5:17

  1141. excuse me says this

1142. think not that I come to destroy the law

  1143. or the prophets

1144. I am not come to destroy

  1145. but to fulfill

1146. now what does this mean when he says that he came not to destroy

  1147. the law

  1148. you see Jesus Christ

1149. kept all of the law perfectly right

  1150. the moral law perfectly

1151. never sinned once kept all of God's command

  1152. that's why he's righteous

1153. that's why he's able to impute his righteousness

  1154. unto us

1155. through faith in him because he is

1156. the perfect son of God

1157. who observed these things perfectly regarding the moral law

1158. now let me explain some also regarding

  1159. the law

1160. we refer to God's moral law as the

1161. mosaic law or the law

1162. but let me just remind you that God's law

  1163. transcends the mosaic law

  1164. it was established in

  1165. stone

1166. and imposed upon the people

  1167. at Mount Sinai

1168. after the deliverance from Egypt

1169. let me just remind you that God's moral law

  1170. existed prior to that

1171. why because God's moral law

1172. is synonymous with his divine

  1173. nature he's eternal

1174. in other words murder has always been

1175. wrong right we see this

  1176. in Genesis 9 verse 6

    Genesis 9:6

1177. where God sanctions the death penalty

1178. for those who take life

  1179. okay

1180. and side note here I'm for the public execution

  1181. of that one dude

  1182. okay I think that's

1183. completely and by the way that's

  1184. biblical if you're against

1185. public executions and you believe the bible

1186. you must not read the bible

  1187. every execution

1188. under the mosaic law was public

1189. brought him into the center and just stone him

1190. with stones and you say oh man

1191. that's just inhumane oh you go ahead and explain

1192. to me what's a humane way to kill someone

1193. give me a humane way to take someone's life

  1194. who's worthy of death

  1195. slap them to death

1196. what's the humane way to do it

1197. there is no humane way to do it

  1198. okay firing squad is

1199. in fact you know I would prefer

1200. a firing squad over lethal injection

1201. any day wasn't there some lady

1202. who got the lethal injection and it failed

  1203. that sucks

  1204. it failed she lived

1205. and she's like in all this pain firing squad

  1206. is just quick

  1207. but it's inhumane

  1208. yeah what that do

  1209. was inhumane too

  1210. I remember

1211. you know visiting my family

1212. in Guatemala when I was a kid

1213. my mom took me to go see my family

  1214. in Guatemala I think I was like 8

1215. 10 years old or something like that and

  1216. um

1217. one of my aunts was like hey I want you

1218. to come and see this real quick

1219. you know I'm just like what

1220. you know and we're at the TV

1221. and like these three men are about to be publicly executed

1222. I'm like they're going to kill them

1223. it's like yeah why because they

1224. violently rape the little girl

1225. and so they're going to be publicly executed

1226. and they did it on live television

1227. I was like oh wow

  1228. now you say what

1229. why do you think that's okay to do

1230. I'll tell you why first and foremost

1231. because it's right to bring justice

  1232. number one

  1233. for the victims

  1234. but number two

  1235. it's a deterrent

1236. you say what do you mean

1237. you know when someone who's tempted

  1238. to murder

1239. sees a public execution of a person

  1240. who murdered you're like

  1241. check out

1242. I'm going to do something else

  1243. I don't think I want to die

  1244. death is a motivator

  1245. okay

1246. and I'm not just talking about hearing about death just seeing it

  1247. it's a motivator

1248. now obviously you know that's going to be gruesome

1249. but you know what it operates as a deterrent

  1250. okay

1251. oh you're just going to enable people

  1252. no that's actually

  1253. according to the bible

1254. the bible specifically says when judgment against an evil work

1255. is not carried out speedily

1256. the hearts of the sons of men is fully setting them

  1257. to do evil

1258. if you don't publicly execute people

  1259. for their capital crimes

1260. it's going to enable other people

1261. to want to carry out those same crimes

1262. because they think well they didn't get punished

1263. I'm not going to get punished

1264. so that's just a side note there

1265. you got that for free

1266. when Jesus said he came not to destroy the law

1267. obviously he's not coming to break the law

  1268. okay

1269. regardless of what furtick said

1270. furtick that false prophet got up and said

1271. that Jesus broke the law for love

1272. that's not even poetic it sounds stupid

1273. you didn't break the law if you broke the law then he's not God

  1274. okay

1275. he came out to destroy the law or the prophets

1276. in other words he's not coming

  1277. to contradict

1278. he's not coming to destroy

1279. what the Old Testament was teaching

1280. why because he is the fulfillment

  1281. of the law

  1282. right beginning at

1283. Moses and all the prophets he expounded

1284. unto them and all the scriptures the things concerning himself

1285. why because the Old Testament

1286. law and prophets are all about

  1287. pointing towards Christ

  1288. the apostle Paul

1289. says that the law was our school master

1290. to bring us unto Christ

  1291. Jesus said

1292. for had you believed Moses you would have believed me

1293. for he wrote of me

1294. over and over again we see that the Old

  1295. Testament even dating back

  1296. to Abraham all pointed

1297. towards Christ Jesus told the Pharisees

1298. you know Abraham saw my day and was

  1299. glad

1300. everyone pointed towards Jesus Christ

1301. the Old Testament is all about Jesus

1302. so he fulfilled the law in a practical

1303. way where he actually kept the law

1304. the moral law but he also

1305. fulfilled the law by what

  1306. by being the culmination

1307. of those shadow of things to come

1308. so we can say he

1309. fulfilled the law by being the lamb

1310. of God who should take away the sins of the world

  1311. just as the lambs

1312. the animals the goats of the Old Testament

1313. were sacrificed in order to atone for the sins

1314. of the nation in like manner that he

  1315. fulfilled that

1316. so he didn't come to destroy the law he came to fulfill

1317. now is part of the law

1318. done away with of course it is

1319. of course it is and let me explain to

1320. you why that is okay not

  1321. using Paul's arguments in

  1322. Hebrews chapter 8 and 9 though that's a great

    Hebrews 8 chapter mention

1323. passage to use just using Jesus alone

  1324. the new covenant

  1325. requires the death of

  1326. the testator and thereby

1327. brings the end of an Old Covenant

  1328. that's how covenants work

1329. a lot of people don't even understand how covenants operate

  1330. that Old Covenant

  1331. that Old System

1332. had to have a conclusion

1333. once Jesus Christ died because once Jesus Christ

  1334. died he's bringing about

  1335. a New Testament

1336. hold on a second that's from the Apostle Paul

1337. no that's from Jesus at the Lord's Supper

1338. when he talked about the New Testament

  1339. that he's bringing in

  1340. a New Testament a New Covenant

1341. that's exactly how it works he's the mediator

1342. of a better covenant established upon

  1343. better promises

1344. so yeah he didn't come to destroy

  1345. animal sacrifices

1346. that's a wrong way to assess what he did

1347. he came to fulfill it

1348. and you know people often bring this up like

  1349. well the gospels

  1350. shows Jesus

1351. obeying the law of Moses

1352. yeah cause he's still under the Old Testament

  1353. during his life

1354. so of course he's going to obey the law

  1355. of course he is

  1356. he's

1357. offering the gifts to Moses

1358. he's encouraging people to offer the gifts

  1359. unto Moses he

  1360. his mom was participating

  1361. in the purification part

1362. he is you know doing the animal sacrifices

1363. and so forth but at his death

1364. that stuff is done away with cause he is the culmination

1365. of those things to come

  1366. look at Ephesians 2 verse 14

    Ephesians 2:14

1367. it says for he referring to Jesus

  1368. is our peace

1369. who hath made both one

1370. and hath broken down the middle wall of partition

  1371. between us having

  1372. abolished in his flesh

  1373. the enmity

1374. even the law of commandments contained

1375. in ordinances for to make it himself

1376. of twain one new man

  1377. so making peace

1378. so what did Paul actually abolish

1379. he didn't abolish the law

  1380. he actually abolished

  1381. the enmity between

  1382. Gentiles and Jews

  1383. that

1384. was separated by the ordinances

1385. ok so how can Paul

  1386. destroy the law

1387. how can he abolish the law

1388. if the law is already done away with by the time he came into the game

  1389. he was one

1390. born out of due time remember

1391. by that time this was already instituted

1392. what he is abolishing what according to the apostle Paul

  1393. Jesus abolished

  1394. the enmity

1395. the division between Jew and Gentile

  1396. that was essentially

  1397. separating us from

  1398. the commonwealth of Israel

1399. the promises of the covenant

1400. through the Old Testament law

1401. now go to John chapter

1402. I'm sorry not John 4 go to Colossians

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  1403. chapter 2

1404. and then we're going to go to

  1405. Romans chapter 3 again

    Romans 3 chapter mention

1406. go to Colossians chapter 2

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

1407. and look you know the Old Testament

  1408. specifically required

1409. specifically required for people to go to Jerusalem

  1410. to worship God

1411. to go to the temple to worship God

1412. you had to do it

1413. Jesus went to the temple to worship God because of the fact that

1414. that's what the Old Testament law required

1415. but didn't he say in John 4 that the day will come

1416. where you're not going to worship in this mountain

  1417. or in Jerusalem

1418. but they that worship him will worship him in spirit

1419. and in truth and isn't he saying

1420. that the day will come even if it had not yet come

1421. why because he hadn't died yet

1422. so he's specifically saying like right now

1423. we have to worship in Jerusalem for sure

1424. but the day will come

1425. where you don't have to say in this mountain or in that

1426. because anybody who worships him

1427. can worship him in spirit and in truth

1428. why because according to the New Testament

1429. we believers are the temple of God

1430. we're bought with the price

1431. and so forth that's what the Bible actually teaches

  1432. Colossians chapter 2

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  1433. and verse 14

  1434. it says here

1435. blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us

1436. who's blotting it out, Paul or Jesus

  1437. Jesus

1438. blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us

1439. which was contrary to us

1440. and took it out of the way

1441. nailing it to his cross

1442. and having spoiled principalities and powers

1443. he made a show of them openly

1444. triumphing over them in it

  1445. let no man therefore

1446. listen to this, judge you in

  1447. meat or in drink

1448. or in respect of in the holy day

1449. or of the new moon or of the Sabbath

1450. days which are a shadow of things to come

1451. but the bodies of Christ

1452. so this is telling us that

1453. we don't have to observe these Old Testament

  1454. ordinances

1455. now a lot of these Judaizers will tell you

1456. no you do have to observe them

  1457. he's saying that like

1458. don't let people tell you not to

1459. abstain from these particular meats

  1460. yeah he's telling Colossians

  1461. Greeks

1462. who are part of a New Testament church to do that

1463. no, he's telling them hey

1464. don't let these Judaizers come in and tell you

1465. that you can't have shellfish

1466. now I'm not a fan of shellfish anymore

  1467. okay, sorry

1468. the only time I would be a fan of it is if you fry it

  1469. but I had a bad experience

  1470. a couple weeks ago

  1471. with shellfish

1472. and it was good for the cut though

1473. it's good for weight loss for sure

  1474. you know

1475. it definitely accelerates the weight loss

  1476. I will say that

1477. but here's the thing is that

1478. I'm not going to judge you if you want to eat shellfish though

1479. because that would be contrary to the Bible

1480. and the Bible says not to

1481. allow people to judge you regarding

1482. these observances of the Sabbath day either

  1483. why? Verse 17

1484. which are a shadow of things to come

1485. but the bodies of Christ

1486. meaning that these things pictured

  1487. Jesus Christ

1488. in fact the New Testament according to Hebrews chapter 4

    Hebrews 4 chapter mention

1489. tells us that Jesus Christ is

  1490. our Sabbath

1491. why? because we rest in him for our salvation

1492. go to Romans if you would

  1493. Romans chapter 3

    Romans 3 chapter mention

1494. now what is the accusation again?

1495. oh, Paul abolished the law

  1496. he's trying to

  1497. destroy the law

1498. he wants people to hate the law

1499. is that true? look at Romans 3 verse 31

    Romans 3:31

1500. and then we're going to go to Romans 7

  1501. Romans 3

1502. 31 says do we then make void

1503. the law through faith? God forbid

  1504. yay, we establish

1505. the law go to Romans 7

  1506. Romans chapter 7

    Romans 7 chapter mention

  1507. and verse 7 here

1508. it says what shall we say then? is the law

  1509. sin? God forbid

1510. doesn't sound like Paul hates the law

1511. God forbid, nay, I had not known sin

  1512. but by the law

1513. for I had not known lust except the law had said

  1514. thou shalt not covet

1515. it sounds like he's exalting the law

  1516. he's esteeming the law

1517. and he's finding value in the law

1518. because the law taught him to use the sinner

1519. look at verse 12 if you would

  1520. Romans 7 and verse 12

  1521. wherefore the law is

  1522. holy and the commandment

  1523. holy and just

  1524. and good

1525. it sounds like Paul is a fan of the law

1526. oh no, he came to abolish the law

1527. then why does this verse exist

1528. where he's talking about how it's holy

  1529. it's just, it's good

1530. it's righteous, why? because it is

1531. and you know at the end of the day

1532. the law of God plays its role

  1533. in someone's salvation

1534. it's just not in its observance

1535. the role that it plays is in helping

1536. you to recognize that you can't save

1537. yourself because you're not perfect

1538. it's supposed to strip away your

1539. righteousness and help you to realize

1540. I can't save myself, I need to go to

1541. the foot of the cross to be saved

  1542. okay

1543. go to 1 Corinthians 8 if you would

  1544. 1 Corinthians 8

  1545. this guy's a heretic

  1546. and you know

1547. this bulls my blood when I see stuff like this

  1548. because it's just

  1549. obviously it's retarded

  1550. obviously it's super gay

1551. and you're just like how can people even like

  1552. listen to this

1553. and I was telling this to my wife

1554. last night when I was preaching to her

1555. I was saying you know

1556. a lot of times I do get on false prophets

1557. because of the fact that you know rightfully so

1558. because they're evil and wicked

1559. and they're perverted to the gospel

1560. but you know what like the people who fall them are just like

  1561. super evil too though

1562. if you think about it

1563. I guess the false prophet can't take all the credit

1564. for the retardation and evilness

1565. because at the end of the day

1566. the people who fall them are absolute idiots too

1567. because you think they're just like how can someone be deceived

  1568. exactly

1569. like how can you be there

1570. how can you agree with this heresy

1571. how can you agree with this blasphemy

1572. and people are just eating up

  1573. with fork and spoon

1574. they agree with that they want to propagate it

  1575. but it's because they're also evil

1576. they're godless people as well

1577. and at the end of the day they hate the truth

  1578. that's what it is

  1579. accusation number three

1580. Paul contradicted Jesus and James concerning

  1581. meat

1582. James was allegedly a vegetarian

  1583. bro

  1584. Paul supposedly criticized James

1585. when he described those who

  1586. eat herbs as weak

  1587. so he views

  1588. Romans 14 as a dis

  1589. towards James

1590. and then he says that Paul permitted

  1591. eating meat to idols

  1592. the sacrifice into idols

1593. contrary to the Jerusalem apostles

  1594. okay

1595. so you know obviously we know

1596. that this guy is a vegetarian

1597. okay that's why he's even bringing this up

  1598. to begin with

1599. let me just tell you something

  1600. whenever there's a person

1601. who claims to be a spiritual leader

1602. but they're a vegetarian I automatically write them off

  1603. not interested

  1604. not interested

  1605. you know

  1606. you say why

1607. because the bible does say that he that eats herbs

  1608. is weak

  1609. and it just demonstrates

  1610. spiritual immaturity

  1611. I'm not saying they're unsaved

1612. because you know sometimes people do that

1613. for whatever reason they just

  1614. I don't really know why actually

1615. I'm just trying to be nice

1616. people might have legitimate reasons

  1617. why I wouldn't agree with it

  1618. okay

1619. I think you can get all those benefits from meat

  1620. alright

1621. but Romans 14 tells us

1622. that you know we just got to be nice to them

1623. because they're kind to them because you know

1624. they're just weak in the faith and so forth

  1625. but if you're a spiritual leader and you're a vegetarian

1626. I automatically write you off

  1627. people all the time

1628. they're always telling me oh you got to look into Hitler

  1629. Hitler

  1630. this and Hitler that

1631. I'm like well first of all he lost

  1632. yeah

1633. we're just going to ignore that

  1634. didn't bro lose

  1635. right

1636. first of all he lost

  1637. right

1638. so then you know someone gave me

  1639. my conf to read

1640. and then you know the first couple

  1641. pages talk about he's a vegetarian

  1642. and I was like

1643. this guy is a vegetarian

1644. do his followers know this

  1645. he's a vegetarian and I'm thinking maybe

1646. it's for health reasons no it's because

1647. he thought he thought it to be inhumane

1648. to do anything to any animal

1649. in order to have meat

  1650. super gay

  1651. absolutely gay

1652. okay for you Hitler lovers out there

  1653. okay

1654. you know a little mustache don't do nothing now

1655. yeah but he was right on the Jews

1656. yeah but he's agreeing with the Jews here

  1657. to be a vegetarian

  1658. or what not

1659. you know I'm not interested

  1660. when there's a leader who says they're a vegetarian

  1661. I'm not interested now

  1662. this guy's a vegetarian

1663. but he's claiming that James

  1664. was a vegetarian

1665. now look folks you know he quotes

1666. Eusebius and says Eusebius said that he was

  1667. a vegetarian

1668. but sorry that's not authoritative for me

1669. go reference my sermon last week about church fathers

  1670. I'm not really interested

1671. in that because people can make rumors

1672. up they can say stuff and

1673. make all kinds of things up about us

1674. and you know people just believe it

  1675. so the Bible doesn't

1676. seem to indicate that at all

  1677. okay and of course

1678. by proxy he's asserting that Jesus Christ was

  1679. also a vegetarian

1680. and he claims that Jesus Christ was actually

1681. against the animal sacrifices because

1682. of that it's like what in the world

  1683. now folks Jesus Christ

  1684. ate meat

  1685. like well give me

  1686. a book chapter

1687. verse in the Bible where he ate meat

1688. we don't have to because we know that he

  1689. observed Old Testament

  1690. laws that required

  1691. Israelites

  1692. to offer animal sacrifices

1693. burnt offerings and part of that

1694. ordinance was for a person to participate

  1695. in eating

  1696. the burnt offering

  1697. so they would go

1698. have a little meal with the priest there

1699. and then they would eat as well

1700. so that's what he's doing and you know what because he kept the whole law

1701. he came out to abolish the law

1702. he came out to destroy the law

1703. he came to fulfill it and then guess what

1704. he's also participating in eating

  1705. meat as well

  1706. and he's manly

  1707. he's a manly man

1708. so he can't be vegetarian

1709. and so very important there

  1710. now look at 1 Corinthians 813

1711. says wherefore if meat make my brother to offend

1712. I will eat no flesh

  1713. while the world standeth

1714. lest I make my brother to offend

1715. so this is literally contradicting what that guy is saying

  1716. that Paul's like oh he's encouraging

  1717. Paul

1718. Paul's encouraging his listeners and his recipients

1719. to eat things sacrifice and titles

  1720. not true

  1721. not true at all

1722. because look 1 Corinthians 8 is teaching

1723. that whatever sold in the shambles

1724. eat asking questions for nothing for

  1725. constancy

1726. and what he's saying there is this

1727. the shambles might be like some sort of meat market

  1728. and if you're there

1729. with a newer born Christian

  1730. and you're going there

1731. and you're like oh let me get this ribeye real quick

  1732. or something

1733. and the guy sees like oh I think this is

1734. this is meat that was once

1735. offered unto idols if he knows that

1736. he's saying don't buy it because you don't want it to

  1737. foul his conscience

1738. you don't want to cause him to stumble

1739. but it would be completely justifiable for you to

1740. purchase that and eat it because

  1741. the idol is nothing

1742. the earth is the lords and the fullness they're of

  1743. okay

1744. but he specifically says but if it makes my brother to offend

1745. that I'm not going to eat it

1746. now what does he mean when he says

1747. eat things sacrifice unto idols

1748. eating that which is once

1749. offered unto idols what is he referring to

  1750. he's actually prohibiting people

  1751. to eat things

  1752. to participate in rituals

1753. where they eat meat and worship false gods

  1754. go to 1 Corinthians 10

1755. 1 Corinthians chapter 10 if you would

    1 Corinthians 10 chapter mention

1756. it says in verse 16

1757. the cup of blessing which we bless

1758. is it not the communion of the blood of Christ

1759. the bread which we break

1760. is it not the communion of the body of Christ

1761. for we being many are one

  1762. bread and one body

1763. for we are all partakers of that one bread

1764. behold Israel after the flesh

1765. are not they which eat of the sacrifices

  1766. partakers of the altar

1767. so he's saying when someone eats at the altar

  1768. they're participating

1769. in the worship of God

1770. in the worship of that deity

  1771. when they're eating

1772. and they're coupling that with the altar

  1773. okay

1774. he says in verse 19

1775. what say I then that the idol is anything

1776. or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything

  1777. but I say

1778. that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice

  1779. they sacrifice to devils

  1780. and not to God

1781. and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils

1782. ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord

1783. and the cup of devils

1784. ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table

1785. and of the table of devils

  1786. now

1787. when he says the Lord's table he's referring to the Lord's supper

1788. some referring to the table that belongs to the Lord

1789. he's referring just another way of describing

  1790. observing the Lord's supper

1791. so he's saying he's telling the Corinthians

1792. hey you can't come here

1793. and observe the Lord's supper

  1794. and then also participate

  1795. in these pagan worships

  1796. and ordinances and rituals

1797. and just because you want to eat their food as well

  1798. you understand

1799. it's not right for you to go to the Roman Catholic church

1800. and eat the wafer just because you're hungry

  1801. because now you're participating

  1802. in that ordinance

  1803. by eating

1804. and this is exactly what Jezebel was doing in Revelation 2

  1805. she's causing people

1806. to stumble teaching them to fornicate

1807. and to eat things sacrificed into idols

1808. those are often two elements

  1809. that pagans would

1810. integrate in their worship of false gods

1811. you can go all the way back to the book of Numbers

  1812. with Baal

1813. Baal could not curse the children of Israel

1814. but then what did he do?

1815. he caused the Moabites to tempt the children of Israel

1816. to eat things sacrificed into idols

  1817. and to fornicate

  1818. because fornication

1819. according to the pagans and heathens

1820. is often coupled with their religious observance

  1821. of false gods

1822. so what this is teaching here is not teaching

1823. oh don't eat what's served in the shambles

1824. eat it because who cares

1825. what they were using that for

1826. just don't be participating in those rituals

  1827. is what he's saying

1828. but at the end of the day the apostle Paul

1829. is not telling people hey

1830. go ahead eat things sacrificed into idols

  1831. go into the temple

  1832. and observe

  1833. the worship

  1834. of Diana

1835. of Ephesus and all this

1836. he's not sanctioned in that at all

  1837. that's a railing accusation go to 1 Corinthians 9

1838. and we're pretty much finished here

  1839. there's about

1840. like 7 more accusations I'm going to cover tonight

1841. but this is number 4

1842. and that is that Paul admits to lying

  1843. to spread his gospel

  1844. so he's just like

1845. I can't believe you guys follow Paul

  1846. you know he lied

  1847. he admitted to lying

  1848. to people

1849. in order to spread his gospel

  1850. Paul supposedly confessed

1851. to dishonesty when he said

1852. he became all things to all men

1853. now let's read it here

  1854. verse 18 of chapter 9

1855. we'll read the context here

1856. says what is my reward then

1857. barely that when I preach the gospel

1858. I may make the gospel of Christ

1859. without charge that I may abuse

1860. not my power in the gospel

1861. for though I be free from all men

1862. yet have I made myself servant unto all

1863. that I might gain the more

1864. so obviously the context here

1865. is that the apostle Paul is

1866. willing to relinquish some of his

  1867. rights in order

1868. to be able to reach people

1869. that's why he says I'm a servant to all

1870. that I may gain the more

1871. he's willing to subjugate himself

1872. humble himself in order to reach people

  1873. for Christ

1874. verse 20 says unto the Jews

  1875. I became as a Jew

1876. that I may gain the Jews

1877. now what does that mean

  1878. it doesn't mean he's throwing on a yarmulke

  1879. it doesn't mean he's throwing

  1880. on a prayer shawl

1881. and he goes and worships Baal

1882. and he bombs a school

  1883. you know

1884. it doesn't mean he just does what Jews do

1885. you understand what I'm saying

  1886. it doesn't mean he

1887. heads up a pornography industry

  1888. now he's a part of a holiday

1889. when he says when I became as a Jew

  1890. he's basically saying like

1891. I'm gonna go ahead and win Jews according to

  1892. the Old Testament scriptures

  1893. I will meet them

1894. where they're at this is basically

1895. him going where to the synagogues

1896. as we see in the book of Acts

1897. in order to discuss the Old Testament scriptures

1898. of Moses and how they point to Christ

1899. so unto the Jew I became

1900. as a Jew to them that are under the law

  1901. as under the law

1902. that I may gain them that are under the law

1903. so in other words you know if someone is a strict observer

1904. of the Old Testament laws

1905. then he's gonna go ahead and use those

1906. Old Testament laws to Torah

1907. in order to try to reach them

  1908. and again this is

  1909. what he's quoting

1910. this Aaron guy this is what he's quoting

1911. okay and I'm watching this I'm like

1912. okay I could see where he's going with this

1913. he's claiming that he's lying that he's being dishonest

1914. but then he quotes verse 21

1915. and let me read it how he quoted it

1916. okay let's read it but I'm gonna read it

1917. how he quoted it to them that are without law

1918. as without law that I might

1919. gain them that are without law

1920. that's how he read it

1921. and I'm like hold on I'm gonna rewind

1922. that real quick let me just double tap

1923. ten speed back real quick

1924. did I miss something here

1925. to them that are without law as without law

1926. that I may gain them that are without law

1927. oh you missed a chunk there buddy

1928. because you say he's like he's willing to lie

1929. he's willing to be dishonest

1930. he's willing to just you know

1931. say whatever needs to be said

1932. in order to win people to Christ

1933. no actually it says to them that are without law

1934. as without law not being without law

  1935. to God

1936. but under the law of Christ

1937. so in other words you know when he's reaching out

1938. to the Gentiles he's not having a beer with them

1939. he's not like oh you guys got some

1940. you know party going on

1941. revelings yeah let's do it

1942. you know oh I'm down

  1943. I'm cool

  1944. you know I can

  1945. do a little drugs I can

1946. take some hallucinogens I can participate

1947. in your partings and everything because I'm just

1948. trying to win no because he says

1949. I'm still under law to God

1950. so he's not gonna compromise

  1951. his biblical convictions

1952. in order to reach people for Christ

1953. right and the way we don't apply that today

1954. is you know if you want to win your friend

1955. don't meet him at the bar

1956. in order to do so

1957. you know well the only way he's willing to meet

1958. with me half ways if I like you know

1959. go with him to a bar

1960. and we dream together no because at that point

  1961. you're not you're placing yourself

1962. out from under the law of God and under Christ

1963. really well yeah but didn't Jesus

1964. sit with sinners of course

1965. he sat with publicans and sinners

1966. and not a single instance that he sin

  1967. and in fact

1968. when he sat with sinners and the publicans

1969. and yet even the Pharisees he's rebuking them

  1970. and I guarantee

1971. you're not rebuking your buddy

1972. or whatever when you're both are smoking pot

1973. you know it's godless to do this

1974. we need to make sure that when we

1975. reach people for Christ we do it on Christ terms

  1976. okay

1977. you know we need to make sure we meet them where

  1978. they're at yes but

1979. not to the extent that we sin

1980. against the Lord in order to do so

  1981. okay

1982. so he's not lying he's basically saying like

1983. and we have an example of this

1984. of how he did this in Acts chapter 17

    Acts 17 chapter mention

  1985. and Mars Hill

1986. he went to Mars Hill and he's just like

1987. you have a monument here to the

1988. unknown God and then he began to

  1989. preach unto them Christ

  1990. so he used

  1991. their monument

1992. praying to the unknown God

1993. seeking the unknown God and he basically said

1994. hey that's Jesus is what he's saying

  1995. okay

1996. he says verse 22 to the week became

1997. I as weak that I may gain the weak I am made

1998. all things to all men that I might

1999. by all means save some

  2000. and this I do

2001. for the gospel's sake that I might

  2002. be partaker thereof with

  2003. you

2004. what's the point here the point is go to

2005. Acts 20 will be the last passage

  2006. promise

2007. point is Paul was not lying

2008. he wasn't being dishonest this guy's lying

  2009. he's a major liar

  2010. Paul is basically willing

2011. and look he's the one responsible for

2012. starting all these churches he had to be all things

2013. to all men and not a single

2014. instance in the book of Acts that we see him

  2015. sinning reaching Gentiles

2016. we don't see him committing grievous sins

  2017. worshiping false gods

  2018. I mean even when they're claiming that he's

2019. Jupiter and in these false gods

2020. he's like rebuking them for that

2021. he's stopping them he's not like oh yeah

2022. I am actually it's funny you said that

2023. you know no he's stopping them

2024. because all things to all men

  2025. has boundaries my friends

2026. we need to make sure we don't sin against the Lord

2027. when we reach others for Christ

2028. Acts chapter 20 and read down let's

    Acts 20 chapter mention

2029. skip down to verse 29 it says for I

2030. know this that after my departing

2031. shall grievous wolves enter in among

2032. you not sparing the flock

2033. also of your own self shall

  2034. men arise speaking perverse

2035. things to draw away disciples

2036. after them what is he talking about

2037. these people who are discrediting him

  2038. people who are simply

2039. trying to discredit the apostle

  2040. Paul and you know

2041. at the end of the day it is an

2042. attack on Christ because Christ

2043. is the one Jesus is the one who

2044. sent them out he's the one who selected

2045. him he's the one that ordained him

2046. he's the one to reveal themselves to him

2047. and he's the one that inspired him to write

  2048. these writings and so

2049. folks don't be deceived by

  2050. these false prophets and

2051. don't allow yourself to be stumped by them either

2052. just because they have great

  2053. swelling words of vanity

2054. once you hear astral projection

2055. oh that's all you had to say

  2056. once you hear vegetarianism

2057. that's all you had to say

2058. once you hear that Jesus Christ is not

  2059. the Son of God

2060. that's all you had to say

  2061. I'm out

  2062. don't be a child

2063. tossed to and fro carried about

2064. with every wind of doctrine let's pray

2065. thank you so much for your word

2066. thank you for the apostle Paul

2067. I pray that you help us Lord as your people

2068. to recognize that false prophets abound

2069. especially in these last days

2070. we know that the spirit speak at the expressly

2071. then a lot of times some shall depart

2072. from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits

  2073. and doctrines of devils

2074. and so I pray that as your people you would help us

2075. to give attendance to reading to excitation

2076. to doctrine that we'd be able to save

2077. those that hear us and ourselves

2078. from heresy we love you we thank you
