Christ. Amen. Amen. I want to preach a sermon this morning on the 10 Commandments, and so the goal
-
is that when we all leave here today that we're going to have a really, really good idea of what
-
the 10 Commandments are, and we're going to hopefully even have them memorized whether you
-
like it or not, all right? So we're going to work on the 10 Commandments. And the thing is,
-
children, is that many adults, they break the 10 Commandments and they don't care anymore.
-
And so the goal is for you to learn these while you're young so that hopefully you'll continue
-
following them even when you become an adult. And the sad thing is that very few people care about
-
the 10 Commandments. It used to be, if you went to a public school, the 10 Commandments were
-
even hung on the wall. The 10 Commandments have been a major part of our culture and our society.
-
And it's not to say that these are the only things God cares about, but they are emphasized
-
in the Bible. They have a name of the 10 Commandments. They were written in a stone by God's finger,
-
and the Bible says that he spake these audibly. Look at verse one again,
-
and God spake all these words saying. So God spoke these words to Moses on the mountain.
-
When Moses took the children of Israel out of Egypt, they eventually got to Mount Sinai or Mount
-
Horeb, and Moses went on the mountain, and God met Moses on this mountain, and God spoke
-
what we're reading here in Exodus chapter number 20. It's a very famous portion of scripture,
-
and he even wrote these 10 Commandments with his finger into tables of stone and gave them to Moses.
-
And so it's important for us to learn them. They are emphasized in the Bible, and they're
-
very important to God. It says here in verse two, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought
-
thee out of the land of Egypt out of the house of bondage. So he's saying, I got y'all out
-
of Egypt. So this is really important. I've delivered you. So you need to then therefore
-
harken to these 10 Commandments. And this first one kind of is related to, if you think about it,
-
what he's saying. If all the gods of the Egyptians could not deliver the children of
-
Israel, and they had no impact, they couldn't stop them from leaving the Egyptians, then we ought
-
to harken to the God that delivered them, the God that saved them, the God that has
-
rescued them from bondage and slavery and from Egypt. And so then he asks here in verse three,
-
thou shalt have no other gods before me. And he's demanding that since he is the only God,
-
and he has delivered them, and they are his people, that this is a reasonable request,
-
that thou shalt have no other gods before me. Meaning that you cannot have multiple religions.
-
You cannot have multiple gods. You cannot have multiple Bibles. You need to have one God,
-
one Bible. You can't have any others and we shouldn't mix religion. And in this world,
-
there are other religions. You live in America where Christianity is a big part of our culture,
-
but not necessarily every American is Christian. And then we go into other parts of the world,
-
there's very few Christians in some countries. Some countries worship a different God or a
-
false God. And when it's a different God, that God doesn't exist. It's made up. It's fake.
-
It's not real. And so God doesn't want us to worship a fake God or to have a different God.
-
God doesn't want us to read other texts that are not the Bible. And you know, it's really
-
important that we adhere to the King James Bible because this is God's word. All the other
-
Bibles or texts, whatever you want to call them, because the word Bible just simply means
-
book. It's kind of its root, basic level. And so, you know, some people might call their book a Bible,
-
but there's only one Bible and it's been preserved in English in the King James Bible. And so that's
-
why kids, we only use this book. We don't want to have any other gods before God. And so, you
-
know, when I think about this commandment, I think about my Bible and I think about like,
-
hey, we shouldn't have any other gods before God, you know, we should have no other gods.
-
This is our God, you know, the God of the Bible is our God. And that's the only one we want to
-
worship. Hey, if there's another text out there, like the Koran or something like that, that's trash.
-
And since we're not supposed to have any other God, any other texts out there like a Koran,
-
you know, this is what I think of the Koran, you know, I just think that we should just
-
tear it up or rip it up, you know. Hey, I'm going to tell you something. The Koran is trash.
-
It's literal trash. It should just be burned. Okay. The Koran, you know, why are we letting
-
this stuff in America? Hey, let me tell you something. The Talmud is trash. It should
-
be ripped up too. And just burned, you know, it's just mysticism. It's a horoscope. Hey,
-
the Book of Mormon, which should be the Book of Moron, it's trash too. And yeah, we do burn
-
those things. Now do we burn a King James Bible? No. That's what I've no other Gods before me.
-
So we say, hey, this trash, we don't want this trash in here. We don't want any kind of trash.
-
Now this isn't a Koran. Okay. This is an NIV, but I don't care. I'm going to rip it up anyways.
-
All right. I don't want to bring the Koran in here. Okay. Or the Book of Moron. Now if
-
you brought one in, we'll rip it up. All right. We'll pour bacon on it or whatever,
-
you know, I don't, I don't know. But hey, we shouldn't have any other God. We have, you know,
-
this is the God of our religion is the God of the Bible, God, the Father, God, the Son, God,
-
the Holy Spirit. We worship Jesus Christ. That's who we worship. We shouldn't have any other God.
-
No other religion. All other religions are fake. Hinduism is fake. Islam is fake. The Mormon
-
religion is fake. The Jews are basically atheists. They're fake. Their religion is fake.
-
And, you know, people say, oh, there's all these religions. There's really not that many.
-
It's basically just kind of like Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, atheists, you know,
-
and then a few like fringe cults and weirdos. A lot of perverted versions of Christianity.
-
But at the end of the day, there's not that many options. And let's be honest,
-
this is way better than all the other options. It's the best text.
-
It's the best thing that we have. Now, let's read our second commandment here.
-
It says in the next verse, it says thou shalt not make under the any graven image. So, of course,
-
image is something that we can see. It's something that we can look at. Graven, the Bible talks
-
about wood or stone and to some kind of like sculpture. And again, obviously, there's a
-
religious connotation typically associated with these graven images. But notice what it says.
-
It says, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath
-
or that is in the water under the earth, thou shalt not bow down thyself to them nor serve them.
-
For I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
-
children under the third and fourth generation of them that hate me and showing mercy on the
-
thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Notice that God doesn't even
-
just punish one generation for idolatry. He punishes multiple generations for idolatry.
-
And so we don't want to be going backwards as a group of people. We don't want to be like the
-
Gentiles used to be where they worshiped pagan gods and false images. We want to be
-
Christians that deny those graven images and nothing to do with the graven images.
-
Now, unfortunately, the children of Israel sinned. They broke this commandment.
-
And so kings at certain times throughout history would have to rectify the situation.
-
I want to go to 2nd Chronicles, chapter 34. You can keep a finger because we're going to be going
-
to Exodus 20, the whole sermon, but I want to go to 2nd Chronicles for a moment,
-
chapter 34. And I want to read about Josiah.
-
Now, this is what I like about Josiah. He's your guy's age, all right?
-
Look what it says here in verse 1. Josiah was eight years old. You know what? That tells me that
-
even an eight-year-old can realize that idolatry is wrong because we're going to read about it.
-
Josiah was eight years old. Keep that in mind. Who in here is eight years old? Anybody?
-
We got a couple eight-year-olds. All right. Nice. See, that's how old Josiah was
-
when he was the king. Isn't that crazy? Now, we're not going to make y'all a king,
-
okay? But that's how old he was when he was king. It says Josiah was eight years old when he began
-
to reign and he reigned in Jerusalem one in 30 years. And he did that, which was right in the
-
side of the Lord. So is what Josiah going to do in this chapter right? Yes. And he walked in the
-
ways of David his father and declined neither to the right hand or the left. For in the
-
eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David
-
his father. And in the 12th year, he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high
-
places in the groves and the carved images and the molten images. And they break down the
-
altars of Balaam in his presence and the images that were on high above them. He cut down and the
-
groves and the carved images and the molten images. He break in pieces and made dust of them
-
and strode it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. So here, obviously he ages
-
a little bit in the text. It says for in the eighth year of his reign. So maybe he's about
-
16 when he actually enacts this. But hey, Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign.
-
He realizes there's a lot of idolatry in the land and he wanted to cleanse it. And notice,
-
I mean, in verse four, he breaks stuff. He cuts stuff down the carved images,
-
the molten images. Notice this. He break in pieces and in some cases he was even able
-
to make it turn into dust. And so, you know, what I thought we should do is maybe we should
-
do that. All right? So I need an eight-year-old boy volunteer, all right? All right, come on down.
-
Now, I need some help from my ushers here for a moment because we're going to do an object
-
lesson this morning, okay? You could move this back. Sometimes we need to cleanse the land,
-
all right? I got to be like Mary Poppins. I want to reveal all my secrets yet, okay?
-
Okay. So I've got some gloves for you here, all right?
-
And a hammer, okay? See if you can find something in there you want to put on.
-
Different sizes, all right? Now, I went to Goodwill
-
and I found some stuff, okay? I found this thing, all right?
-
And this is what you would call a graven image, okay?
-
It's graven and it's kind of, it's overtly religious. I don't know what it is.
-
You might say it's an angel, but the Bible says that in some cases angels were the
-
ministers of Satan. They were transforming themselves. Now, before anything happens,
-
if you're anywhere in this section and you feel like you're in danger, you may leave, okay?
-
By staying in this room, you accept all risk.
-
Everyone in this room has accepted all risk, okay? Now, here's the thing.
-
As the Bible says, thou shalt not make under the any graven image, so take a swing. That was
-
awesome. Good job, all right? Take off the gloves. Nice. Now, that looked like fun, okay?
-
I'm just going to be honest. If you want to participate your teen and under,
-
we're going to do a Bible drill to see who can come up next, all right?
-
So, you all have to sit down for a second because it's the first person to stand up.
-
But if you can turn to this verse and read it correctly, you can be the next contestant,
-
all right? On thou shalt not make any graven image. Actually, for the first two, it's
-
12 and under, all right? And then I'll expand the age, all right?
-
12 and under. Bible's up. Bible's up. Deuteronomy 4 verses 15 through 19.
-
Make a great, a graven image in the simulitude of any figure in the likeness of male or feet in the
-
male. The likeness of any beast that is on the day of the earth. The likeness of any winged
-
fowl that flies in the air. The likeness of anything that creepeth on the ground,
-
like the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth.
-
Unless thou lift up thy eyes unto heaven, and when thou seeest the sun and the moon,
-
shouldest be driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations
-
under the whole heaven. Nailed it. All right, come on down. We're going to let you prepare
-
yourself, okay? So if you want to put on gloves or whatever you want, and then we'll
-
let you choose your victim, okay?
-
But before then, we'll get another one. You have to sit down. Bible's up. Sit down. Bible's up.
-
Deuteronomy 5 verse 8.
-
Thou shalt not make thine an graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
-
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth. Nailed it. All right,
-
you can go and prepare yourself too, all right?
-
Here you go. So I'm going to give you a few options here, okay? We've got a Mary
-
for all the Catholics, okay? We've got another angel thing.
-
Demon is what you could call it if you want. And then another weird, it already lost some wings,
-
but it needs to lose some more. So you can choose what you'd like. All right, Mary's going down.
-
Catholics, I'm sorry. Bam! All right, Jojo, as you prepare yourself, you're prepared.
-
Wait on my cue, okay? No early smashing yet, all right?
-
All right. This is for any teens and under. Deuteronomy 7-5.
-
Nailed it. Now we're not going to burn anything today, okay? Just...
-
All right, choose your victim. This demon's going down. I have a feeling. All right.
-
Bam! Nailed it. All right, as she's preparing herself,
-
we're going to have one last one, all right? This one's going to be...
-
Well, I'm going to do a couple more, actually, potentially. We'll see.
-
Bible's up. Deuteronomy 12-3. Oh, okay. I'm sorry.
-
And ye shall overthrow the altars and breakthrough their pillars and burn their grows with fire,
-
and ye shall you, you, you down the graven images of God, their gods and destroy the names
-
of them out of the place. Nailed it. All right, come on down.
-
We're cleansing Goodwill one demon at a time. All right, here's your victim, okay?
-
You ready? She's even got her purse. She's ready. Oh, let's reload. Reload. We want this
-
thing going down, all right? Bam! Nailed it. No head now. It's like bail. The head just falls off.
-
You know what I mean? All right, prepare yourself, okay? Now, the reason why I might do more just
-
kind of depends, all right? This last one, we might go a couple rounds on it. We've got Buddha,
-
all right? Happy Buddha. So, I'm going to give you one strike. If you miss, I'll let you go again,
-
but one good strike, all right? Let's see how Buddha handles this. Hey, he lost an arm. All right,
-
so there's a chance. All right, next man up.
-
That was a good one. I'm going to still go another round on him, all right?
-
Bible's up. Deuteronomy 27, 15. Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image
-
in abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsmen, and puteth it in a secret
-
place, and all the people shall answer and say amen. Amen. Prepare yourself. Now, here's the thing.
-
He's looking, he's just standing too tall. What if we, what if we elevate the game a
-
little bit? Bring out the big one. Now, now just to preserve a few things though, okay? We're not
-
going to go full bore, all right? So, you can go, you can go, you can go about that. You can't go
-
rear and back, all right? Here, okay? I'm going to put it in the center. We'll take one at a time.
-
Let's see how you do, okay? All right. It's okay. It's okay. Sometimes there's collateral
-
damage. Let's try, let's just try just the Buddha. I'm going to give you just a swing.
-
You might have to aim it. Go ahead and line it up and then rear back. It'll be better for you. It's
-
a small target. Nice, direct hit. All right. People are getting too nervous, okay? All right.
-
Help me clean this up just a hair, all right? Hey, we're just trying to clean up our city here,
-
okay? Let's, let's go back to Exodus chapter number 20, okay?
-
We're going to have some guys help us clean this up a little bit. But you know, hey,
-
what did God in America, we would break all the graven images?
-
I'm not going to hide what I believe and I'm not going to hide what God said.
-
I mean, how many verses did we read? Not to make them, break them down,
-
hew them down, break them in pieces. And hey, you know, I'm just not for these religious
-
statutes and graven images and icons. And look, you go to a Catholic church,
-
they'll bow down to these things. They'll kiss these things. They'll venerate them.
-
And so we don't want to do such a thing.
-
Exodus chapter number 20, let's keep going down our 10 commandments.
-
You're going to remember that second one I'm telling you, all right? Look at what it says
-
in verse number seven, thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain,
-
for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takeeth his name in vain. Now,
-
why would someone take the name of the Lord thy God in vain?
-
And what does that usually look like? I don't even need this one, right? I'm just using it.
-
Well, sometimes you're out there, you're working, you're just hammering.
-
You got to hold that nail and then you just,
-
but it's saying that you say God's name. Now, why would you ever do that?
-
Is it God that did that to you? No. Is there anything wrong with saying Jesus Christ or God?
-
No, but here's the thing. What we don't want to do is hit our thumb and then use his name
-
because we're mad, because we're angry, using it as a bad word, taking it in vain, meaning
-
there wasn't a reason to use his name in that sentence. And you know what the Bible says,
-
God will not hold him guiltless that takeeth his name in vain. So we don't want to be guilty
-
of doing such a thing. Now, as we're going through these 10 commandments, I've kind of
-
tried to think about a way for us to have some hand actions to think about them, right?
-
So the first one is that we shouldn't have any other gods before them, right?
-
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. So when we do that, we're going to raise our Bibles up
-
and I want all you kids to say it with me, okay? Ready? Thou shalt not have any other gods before
-
me, all right? And then it's Thou shalt not make any graven image. So we're going to do a
-
smash, all right? So we're going to say it. We'll try to say it together. Thou shalt
-
not make any graven image, okay? And then we're going to cover our mouths and say
-
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain and we're going to cover our mouth,
-
okay? Ready? Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord God in vain, all right? So we've got some
-
hand motions that we've been going through. The next commandment we're going to get to is the
-
Sabbath day. He says here in verse 8, remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days
-
the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. In it Thou shalt not do any work, Thou, nor thy son, nor
-
thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within
-
thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is in
-
rest of the seventh day wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. So
-
according to the Bible, in the Old Testament, they had to take a day off
-
and it was the same for everybody. Everybody took the Sabbath day off. So they're not
-
going to work, dads didn't have to go to work, and everybody's trying to take a day of rest.
-
So it's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. Taking rest, they're not having to work,
-
they're not having to labor, they're basically just being able to take a break.
-
In the New Testament, the Sabbath is a picture of the gospel message, because what the Bible
-
teaches is that salvation was accomplished through the work of God, that Jesus Christ died on
-
the cross for all of our sins, and since he died on the cross for all of our sins and
-
did all the work, and he rose again from the dead, all we have to do is just trust in him.
-
And it's a picture of rest, that we're resting in Jesus Christ. And so in the New Testament,
-
there's not a specific day that we necessarily have to take off like we did in the Old Testament,
-
but what we do need to do is we do need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.
-
And we need to rest on him for salvation. I want to go to one place, keep your finger
-
Hebrews chapter number 4. Now again, God uses earthly examples. He created the whole world in
-
six days basically, and then rested the seventh day. So the week that we celebrate every single
-
week is a picture of what God did, that God created the world in six days, rested the
-
seventh day, and then we start that same cycle again. So that's what we have a week.
-
There's nothing in the heavenly calendar or anything that makes us do that.
-
We're all observing what the Bible says. Isn't that interesting? Whether you're Atheist,
-
Buddhist, Hindu, whatever, you know what? We all have the same week and it's based on the
-
Bible and it's based on what God did. There's been some cultures and some very weird people
-
that did this occasionally. Okay, I get it. Some Romans tried it in French and stuff like
-
that, but they all failed. Seven day week, you can't get away from it whether you like it or not.
-
Now in Hebrews chapter 4, this is brought up a little bit. Look at verse 10,
Hebrews 4 chapter mention
-
for he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works as God did from
-
his. So a picture of rest is doing no work and kind of like our common rest that we all
-
experience is sleeping. When we go to sleep, we're not doing any work while we're sleeping.
-
Sleeping on the job will get you fired because you're not really working unless you have AI.
-
We shouldn't be sleeping on the job, but here's the thing. We shouldn't be trying to work our way
-
to heaven and that's the bigger thing. And so when we say these 10 commandments,
-
one of them is to remember the Sabbath. And so what I thought is we could all
-
go like this. We can remember the Sabbath. So let's go through those again.
-
Thou sought up no other gods before me. Thou sought not make unto the any graven image.
-
Thou sought not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. And what?
-
Remember the Sabbath. Good job. All right. Good job. All right. Number five,
-
we're going to go to the fifth commandment here back in Exodus chapter number 20.
-
The Bible says in verse number 12 honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long
-
upon the land which is the Lord thy God giveth thee. So all of you children, you need to obey
-
mom and dad, mom and dad. Okay. So to remember this one, we're going to say, hey, we're supposed
-
to honor thy father and mother and it's yes sir and yes ma'am. All right. Can y'all do that
-
with me? We're going to say honor thy father and mother. Yes sir and yes ma'am. All right.
-
So let's go through all five of those. All right. Y'all ready? Thou sought have no other gods before
-
me. Thou sought not make unto the any graven image. Thou sought not take the name of the Lord thy
-
God in vain. Remember the Sabbath. Honor thy father and mother. Yes sir. Yes ma'am. All right.
-
Y'all are doing good. I feel like y'all are learning these really well. Okay.
-
And if you learn them really well and you're doing a really good job,
-
hopefully what will never happen is someone just walks up and kills you.
-
Okay. Because that's not cool. All right. So someone just walk up and shoot you. Okay.
-
That's scary. You know what I mean? And the Bible says, Thou sought not kill.
-
Now I need a volunteer. All right. Okay.
-
But we're going to do it. We're going to do a sword drill so I can, I have no idea who raised
-
their hand. All right. Oh no. I'm out. Good thing I have more ammo.
-
Okay. All right. So let's do a sword drill.
-
Tains and under. All right. Luke 4-4. All right. Come on down.
-
Now in the state of Texas, you can have a duel. All right.
-
Now he's got to give me a minute here to reload. That would be unfair, wouldn't it?
-
All right. So in a duel, come on out. We'll do it right here. Okay. We got some room. You
-
got to come here. You got to go back to back. Okay. Back to back. And then you got to take
-
three big paces, you know, like, like one, two, three. Then you can turn and fire. Okay.
-
No cheating. He wasn't supposed to kill me. Nailed it.
-
All right. You can give this to someone else. All right. So our commandment is thou shall not
-
kill. All right. So we're going to have to, we're going to have to turn. We're going to have to
-
smack that gun away. All right. Break the wrist and walk away. Okay. You know, they got the gun
-
at you. Okay. So let's go through our commandment so far. Okay. Thou shall have no other
-
gods before me. Thou shall not make it into any grave and image. Thou shall not take the name of
-
the Lord thy God in vain. Remember this. Honor thy father and mother. Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. Thou
-
shall not kill. All right. Good job. Y'all are doing really good. Okay. So let's go back to our
-
texts. Let's read the next one. Exodus chapter 20, verse 14. Thou shall not commit adultery.
-
Okay. Now, before we explain this one, let's go to Mark chapter number 10. Okay. Mark chapter
-
number 10. And I want to read a couple of verses here. Look at verse number 11.
-
The Bible says, And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife
-
and marry another committed adultery against her. And of a woman shall put away her husband
-
and be married to another she committed adultery. So the Bible teaches that when you get married,
-
you're supposed to stay married to your husband or stay married to your wife. And if you were to
-
not stay married to get divorced and be married to someone else, that would be adultery.
-
So I have an object lesson. Okay. There once was a new IP single named Link.
-
All right. He played a lot of video games.
-
And he won the game a lot. So he attracted a young princess named Rosalina.
-
And they got happily married. All right.
-
Happy Link and happy Rosalina. All right. Now what does the Bible say? They should just stay
-
married until one of them dies or both of them die. Right. That's what the Bible says.
-
It says to not divorce, but here's the problem. There's always a Barbie in the world.
-
All right. And this one's cast Barbie. Okay. So she needed some help with her cast.
-
And Link being a hero thought he would go help her, but he made a sin. He decided he didn't
-
want to be married to Rosalina and he decided to divorce her and marry Barbie.
-
That's a sin. We don't marry Barbie. All right. We're married to Rosalina. Okay.
-
But see, here's what people do is they do this and it's bad. It's not right.
-
They shouldn't do it. The Bible tells us not to. We should stay married to who we've
-
been married to. But some people commit adultery, they divorce and they marry someone else.
-
And then Rosalina, being sad, she's going to probably make the same mistake as Link did.
-
Mary's Mario.
-
But we all know Mario is supposed to marry Peach.
-
What's Mario's problem? I don't know. Okay. This isn't cool.
-
The only way that it would have been okay for Rosalina to marry Mario
-
is if we killed Link. Okay.
-
Now if Link's dead, okay. It's okay for Rosalina to marry Mario. All right.
-
But here's the problem. If Link's still alive, if Link's still alive, then you can't do it.
-
Otherwise it's adultery. Okay. Now here's the thing. These characters
-
need a home because I'm not taking them home. All right. So we're going to do a couple sword drills.
-
So, Bible's up if you want one of these. All right. You can come down and take your pick.
-
Matthew 527. Agree with dinadultery quickly. That is not correct.
-
I think it was over here. Which of you? That is not correct. All right. We're going to do
-
a new verse because I can't tell who was there. I said Matthew 527, which was,
-
you have heard that it was said by them of old time. That was what not committed adultery.
-
All right. So we're going to do a new verse.
-
Sit down. Bible's up. You got to get the right verse. Matthew 531.
-
Wait.
-
Testament said,
-
whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement.
-
Read verse 32 as well.
-
Nailed it. Come on down.
-
Bible's up. Matthew 19.
-
And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away his wife,
-
accept it be for portacation, and shall marry another committed adultery.
-
And whosoever marries her, which is put away doth commit adultery. Nailed it. Come on down.
-
Got two more. Bible's up.
-
Revelation 21.8.
-
But the fearful and the believing, abominable and abominable,
-
and whoremongers and sorcerers and adulterers, and all liars shall have their part in the lake.
-
You didn't nail it.
-
But the fearful and
-
unbelieving, abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and adulterers,
-
and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
-
which is the second death. Nailed it. All right. Come on down.
-
Whoremongers. All right. So I'm not sure. Are you going to get the Barbie or?
-
All right. So we're just going to do ladies only on this one. I don't want to embarrass you boys.
-
Okay. So the ladies only one. All right. Esther 111 and 12. Okay.
-
To bring Vashti the queen before the king, which the crowned royal to show the people
-
and the princess her beauty. And for she was fair to look on. But the queen Vashti refused to come
-
at the king's commandment by his cherubin chamberlains chamberlains before the
-
therefore was the king very wroth and his anger burned in him. Nailed it.
-
We should just call her Vashti. All right. Barbie.
-
All right. So for our hand motions, what I came up with is since when you get married,
-
it's supposed to be forever. It's going to be a picture of us putting our hands together like
-
this. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Do you remember? Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not
-
commit adultery. All right. Let's go back to Exodus 20. We got a few more. Exodus chapter 20.
Exodus 20 chapter mention
-
Look at verse 15. Thou shalt not steal. All right. So I need two more volunteers.
-
Right here. Daniel, come on down. All right.
-
Never mind me your name again. Matthew. We've got Matthew and we've got Daniel over here. Okay.
-
I've got some other things in my bag here. I've got some M&Ms and some nice looking fruit snacks.
-
But you know, life's not fair. So Daniel gets all of it. All right. You can hold it, both of them.
-
All right. Okay. But I need you to do something for me real quick. Okay. Well,
-
you just set them down right there for just a second because I need you to do something for me.
-
Now, where's your, where's your, where's your snacks?
-
He took them. What? That's not fair. I gave them to you. What did he do?
-
He stole them. What a thief. Well, you know what? Thou shalt not steal. You have to give him back.
-
All right. Now, you can go ahead, Daniel. You're good. You're good. What are you doing
-
with the stealing here? Nope. All right. There you go. Don't steal. All right.
-
So our next one is Thou shalt not steal. All right. We don't take things that don't belong to us.
-
Okay. You kids sometimes do this. All right. And the lost and founds not an excuse. All right.
-
Thou shalt not steal. Okay.
-
Now I need two more. All right.
-
Chamlee, Chloe, Chloe, come on.
-
Just, I already got the two. Sorry. Next year.
-
Just don't bear false witness. All right. So the Bible says here, Thou shalt not
-
bear false witness against Thy neighbor. Okay. So here's the thing. Sometimes when people lie,
-
they do this thing and maybe you've seen it where they cross their fingers. Have you ever seen this?
-
They'll say something, but they cross their fingers behind their back or whatever.
-
And they're not supposed to do that. Okay. And so Chloe, I need you to cross your fingers
-
for me real quick. And what is that? She stole a gun.
-
What did you do? Where did you get this?
-
How did she know you stole this gun? Did you take it from Milstead?
-
Well, we're not supposed to do that.
-
Now I'm just messing with you because I already have the gun on me, right?
-
But that's not cool to tell a lie about someone and accuse them of stealing a
-
gun when they didn't steal someone's gun. So we don't bear false witness against our neighbor,
-
do we? We don't make up lies. We don't say things that aren't true. Here you can take the gun.
-
Thank you all so much. So here's the thing. Thou shalt not bear false witness. All right.
-
So we'll cross our fingers. So Thou shalt not bear false witness. All right. So we don't want
-
to lie. I think I still have something in here. All right. Let's see. What else we got? Okay.
-
Let's read the next one. All right.
-
It says in verse 17, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not covet the
-
neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maid servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor
-
anything. That is thy neighbor's. Okay. Now I have this really cool orange monster truck right
-
here. Does anybody like this? Would anybody want this? Raise your hand if you think you would like
-
this at all. I need a special. Okay, James, I'm going to have you come down and come get this.
-
All right. This is pretty cool. Do you like it? Do you like it? Come up here. Take it.
-
Stand right here. Okay. That's a pretty cool car, isn't it? That was pretty cool. But this one's way
-
cooler. Like way cooler. All right. You come on down.
-
Isn't this one cool, James? Is it cooler than yours? Come on here. You can come right here.
-
I want you to stand. You got it, buddy. I want you to show everybody. Okay. Let's turn it
-
around. Nice. That one's really cool. Now here's the thing. Do you like this one or you like that one?
-
You like both of them. Okay. All right. Well, see, here's the thing. It's really easy
-
to look at this one and think, I kind of wish I had that one, isn't it? But see, the Bible says
-
thou shalt not covet. Hey, James is real happy to get this truck first, wasn't he? But then
-
sometimes someone gets a bigger truck and they get mad about it and they think, oh, I don't like him
-
because he's got a bigger truck. But you know what? That's wrong. We shouldn't covet. We should be happy
-
with what God's given us. Now here's the thing. How do you not covet? Well, here's the thing.
-
Just don't look at it. Right? So it's this thou shalt not covet. If you're just not looking
-
at what your neighbor stuff is, well, it'll be easier for you to not have that sin creeping
-
in your heart where you covet because sometimes they get so mad they go kill them or something,
-
you know, or steal it or whatever. We don't want to do that. We already know thou shalt not kill,
-
thou shalt not steal, right? Thou shalt not commit adultery, right? We want to stay together. So
-
when people are coveting, it leads them to commit those other sins and we don't want to do
-
that. All right. Congratulations, guys. Good job. So we're going to just, we're going to go
-
through these times a couple of times. Let's see if we can get them. Okay? Hopefully you're
-
going to remember these 10 commandments now. Okay? Thou shalt have no other gods before me, right?
-
Thou shalt not make under the any graven image. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy
-
God in vain. Remember the Sabbath. Honor thy father and mother. Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. Thou shalt
-
not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness.
-
And what's the last one? Thou shalt not covet. All right. You guys did really, really good.
-
Let's go ahead and end in prayer. All right? Thank you Heavenly Father so much for these
-
kids. Thank you so much for giving us these 10 commandments. I pray that you would help
-
them to sink deep down into our heart. That the kids would look at these commandments as a good way
-
to live. That they would honor their father and mother. They would follow all these rules. They
-
would honor you. I pray that you would help them to get saved. That they could see the spiritual
-
picture of the Sabbath. And I pray that you would help us to be God's people. That we would
-
realize that you are our God. And we love you and want to follow your rules so that you
-
understand. My God is so great. If you didn't get a handout from the last one or if it's not in the
-
bulletin, I don't know if anybody, I don't know if people are missing this. It's a pretty easy song.
-
All right, you kids, I want you to stand up with me. All right? So you can do the motions,
-
okay? There in the first. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty. There's nothing
-
my God cannot do. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty. There's nothing my God cannot do.
-
He made the... God bless you're dismissed.
