  1. Welcome to the Spring Church Podcast.

  2. We are so glad you joined us.

  3. Our mission is to reach the lost by raising up fully trained disciples that are empowered by God to impact their world.

  4. We pray that you are challenged and encouraged as you listen to this week's message.

  5. Thank you for swimming to church this morning.

  6. Appreciate you guys being here on a rainy Sunday.

  7. It's gonna be good.

  8. We're gonna have fun today.

  9. And uh I said this at the first service, I'll say it again.

  10. I've had the privilege and honor of speaking really in different parts of the country, different parts of the world.

  11. And whenever I go to a church, I'm just reminded that God is not impressed with songs, the speaker, how big the screen is, the building, the budget.

  12. He cares about the spirit of the house.

  13. And there's such a beautiful spirit here.

  14. Every time I come here, I promise you I don't say this to every church.

  15. Sometimes I go to a church, I'm like, I need a nap after that.

  16. It's draining.

  17. But I walk out of here, I just feel like I receive so much more than I give just because of the spirit that is in this house.

  18. Faithful, expectant, bold, audacious.

  19. Come on, give God some praise one more time for what he's doing at spring church.

  20. I believe it's just the beginning, and you guys are just getting started, and we're gonna have a phenomenal morning.

  21. I want to introduce you to uh my family if you direct your attention to the screen.

  22. I've been married for almost 17 years.

  23. I have a 13-year-old son, an 11-year-old daughter, and a two-year-old daughter.

  24. So, yes, you're seeing that right.

  25. I am currently parenting a teenager and a toddler at the same time.

  26. So pray for me.

  27. For real.

  28. And uh, this is us vacationing in Hawaii this summer.

  29. Um, I'm just kidding, it was upstate New York.

  30. There was like a Hawaiian theme at this dinner.

  31. We're on a pastor's budget, not doing Hawaii yet, but uh listen, we're gonna have fun this morning.

  32. I believe it's gonna be a powerful morning, and I'm gonna bring a unique word.

  33. Uh, I asked Pastor Owen if this was okay, and me and him felt unity and faith around the idea, but we're actually gonna be talking about the idea of healing this morning.

  34. And this is not just gonna be another service, this is going to be an experience, an encounter where at the end of this service, we're gonna invite people forward and we're gonna pray for healing, physical healing, emotional healing, mental healing, uh, relational healing.

  35. And listen, before you get worried, maybe you like saw some weird televangelist stuff, and you're like, oh gosh, this is about to get crazy.

  36. Um we're only gonna do what the Bible instructs us to do.

  37. Amen.

  38. And I just believe that people walk in, I know, even myself included, sometimes broken, bruised, not whole, you know, going through life, going through difficulty, or maybe there's something that you've gotten a report about recently medically.

  39. And we just believe that Jesus Christ is a healer, that he desires to heal.

  40. And anybody been in church long enough to know we don't need more songs, we don't need another talk from another guy, we need a touch from heaven every time that we gather as a people.

  41. Come on, anybody hungry for that this morning?

  42. Put your hands together one more time.

  43. So I just want to open your mind, open your heart to the bigness of God and what I believe that He wants to do this morning in your life, and not just this morning, but on your own journey of faith.

  44. I don't know if you realize this, but right now you're not just sitting in a service, you are on planet Earth.

  45. And if you remember anything from school, when you're on planet Earth, right now, even though it feels like you're sitting still, we're actually rotating at 1,000 miles per hour every single day.

  46. Which, if that's not crazy enough that we're spinning at a thousand miles per hour, you're also traveling through space on this rock at 65,000 miles per hour every single moment.

  47. So, the next time you feel like you had an unproductive day, just remind yourself I traveled 1.5 million miles through space today, okay?

  48. Pretty crazy.

  49. But my question to you is this when was the last time you got on your knees and you thanked God for keeping the planets in orbit?

  50. I don't know about you, probably never.

  51. I've never prayed that.

  52. Why?

  53. Because God is so good at being God that we don't even have to think about it.

  54. But imagine this for a second.

  55. We don't even think about it.

  56. We trust God to keep the planets in orbit, and sometimes we doubt that he will keep our life in orbit.

  57. We naturally just trust God with the big things.

  58. Don't you think we could trust him with the small things like cancer and disease and unemployment and debt and infertility?

  59. I'm not minimizing the pain of any of those things.

  60. I'm just saying if we believe that God is all powerful and can do all of that, don't you think he also has the power to move in our life?

  61. Anybody here still believe in miracles today?

  62. That he is the God who is alive and is active and is moving.

  63. I believe that he wants to do something supernatural, something that is not humanly possible, something that is undeniably God this morning.

  64. And one of the greatest ways that the Lord demonstrates that is by healing people.

  65. At my church back in New Jersey, some people call New Jersey the armpit of America.

  66. I call it the promised land.

  67. I tell myself that when I have to pay the property taxes.

  68. This is where God has called me.

  69. We have people in our church that are struggling, just like there's people in this church that are struggling.

  70. Even conversations that we've been having in the hallways and the lobby before and between the services today, people praying for different physical ailments that they're walking through.

  71. But we have an app where people submit different prayer requests in our church.

  72. I want to show you just a few of the requests that come in because I looked through them to pray.

  73. Prayers to heal Sean's hip quickly and with little pain.

  74. Another request says, Please be with our family and heal all the brokenness.

  75. Another request says, prayers for Carlos who needs a liver and kidney transplant.

  76. In fact, the other day, a dad came up to me in church.

  77. He had a seven-year-old daughter, and he said, Hey, my daughter has a question for you.

  78. I said, Yeah, absolutely.

  79. What's up?

  80. And she goes, Will you pray for me?

  81. I said, Sure, of course I'll pray for you.

  82. And I kind of bend down to her eye level.

  83. I said, What can I pray for?

  84. You know, expecting some seven-year-old prayer.

  85. And she goes, Will you pray for me because I have surgery tomorrow?

  86. I'm really nervous.

  87. How many know that people are going through real things?

  88. I know church is a place where we pretend everything is perfect, but there's pain and there's sickness and there's disease and there's brokenness in all of us that needs a fresh touch from God.

  89. How does Jesus respond when these types of situations come to him?

  90. That's what we have to remind ourselves.

  91. Not what does Todd from New Jersey think.

  92. What does the Bible say, and how does Jesus handle sickness?

  93. So I want to show you this in Matthew chapter 8.

    Matthew 8 chapter mention

  94. Maybe a familiar story, but I believe God's going to speak something unfamiliar to you.

  95. Check this out.

  96. It says, When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him, and a man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, Lord, if you are willing, can you say that with me?

  97. Say, if you are willing, you can make me clean.

  98. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and he said, I am willing.

  99. He said, Be clean.

  100. Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

  101. Notice how the man didn't say, Hey Jesus, if you're able, no, no, no.

  102. He knew that he was able.

  103. He said, If you're willing, would you do this?

  104. Lepers were people that were isolated, that were on the fringes of society, the disenfranchised.

  105. People literally crossed the street to avoid these people.

  106. Like if you saw a leper, you literally ran the other way.

  107. No one wanted to get near these lepers, yet Jesus says, I'm gonna get near people that no one else is willing to get near.

  108. You guys are running the other direction, I'm gonna run towards them and not just get close.

  109. I'm actually going to touch the man with leprosy.

  110. This is just an illustration.

  111. I know that you're perfectly healthy.

  112. Strong man here.

  113. Why is this such an important detail in scripture and in the historical context?

  114. Because the fact that Jesus was willing to touch him shows you that before Jesus wanted to heal his body, he wanted to restore his dignity.

  115. Before he displayed his power, he just showed his compassion on the brokenness of humanity.

  116. Which teaches us a very important principle that Jesus doesn't just have the power to heal, he has the heart to heal.

  117. He wants to heal, he desires to heal.

  118. This is not a random one-off story in the Bible.

  119. This is the repeated pattern of scripture.

  120. Over and over again, broken people, sick people, people with pain in their body, people with an issue that they cannot solve on their own, people that have tried everything are always flocking to Jesus and his compassion.

  121. In fact, look at this verse in the next chapter, Matthew chapter 29.

  122. It just shows you this pattern so clearly.

  123. Matthew chapter uh nine, I think.

  124. Here Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching in the synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and doing what?

  125. Healing every disease and sickness.

  126. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them.

  127. This is very important.

  128. Please understand this.

  129. Miracles are signs, they are not the destination.

  130. They are pointing to something greater.

  131. Or should I say, someone greater, and that is Jesus.

  132. We are not chasing miracles for the sake of chasing miracles.

  133. We are chasing Jesus, and miracles happen to happen when you do that.

  134. I remember many years ago I was in the Philippine Islands.

  135. 22-hour flight, 12-hour time difference, and I was there with a group of about 20 people, and we were visiting hospitals, preaching, doing youth conferences, feeding people.

  136. And on the last day, we're all kind of tired, to be honest, we were ready to go home, and we're walking down this dirt road in this impoverished village.

  137. And there's this woman riding her bicycle right next to us.

  138. We weren't really paying much attention to her, but then all of a sudden, this taxi driver was coming towards us on the street.

  139. And as he got closer, he got faster and faster and faster.

  140. And we kind of got out of the way.

  141. And I was like, oh man, this lady needs to get out of the way, or the car needs.

  142. Nobody got out of the way, and we were eyewitnesses to a head-on collision between the taxi driver and the woman on the bicycle.

  143. And her bike went flying this way, and she went flying this way into a ditch, and the driver just kept driving.

  144. And we go over to this woman laying in this ditch, completely covered in blood.

  145. The bone in her leg was sticking out of the skin, and she's crying.

  146. And we go over there, we bandage her, we tie her shirt around her leg to stop the bleeding.

  147. We pick her up and we literally carry her down the road to where we were staying.

  148. We had a doctor with us, we put on the table, he starts trying to take care of her.

  149. I'll never forget why the doctor is doing what he can do.

  150. The other 19 of us were over here circled up praying.

  151. And we're just calling on God.

  152. God, heal this woman, help this woman, stop the bleeding.

  153. Like we're just praying.

  154. I'll never forget those prayers.

  155. We do the best we can.

  156. We load her into a car, we take her to the hospital, they bandage her up, they have to do surgery, we stay with her, we encourage her, we comfort her, we end up paying for all of the hospital bills.

  157. We put her back in the car and we're taking her home a few days later.

  158. Come to find out she's a Muslim woman.

  159. We're speaking to her through a translator because she speaks the natural language of Tagalog in the Philippines.

  160. And she says to us, Why are you doing this?

  161. Why have you done all of this?

  162. And we just say, Listen, we're we're just we're Christians, we're from a church, we believe in Jesus.

  163. He loves us, he loves all people.

  164. We're here just to just to share his love.

  165. And it opens up this opportunity to share the gospel with her and what Christ has done on the cross.

  166. By the end of that car while we're pulling up to her house, she says to us in her natural language, I don't know what she says, the translator translates, it says, She says that she wants to believe in that Jesus that you're talking about because of the love that you have shown.

  167. On that day, that woman, Muslim woman, gave her heart to Christ.

  168. Not only that, she went into her house and her entire family came to Christ that day and got plugged into the local church and is still in that church today.

  169. Come on, can you praise God?

  170. But can I just remind us the real miracle was not that her leg was healed, it's that she found Jesus.

  171. Because the point of every miracle is that it would point people to the miracle worker.

  172. That's what we're gonna do at the end of this service.

  173. We're gonna say, let's point people to the miracle worker.

  174. Yes, you're gonna come forward, you're gonna receive prayer, we're gonna anoint you with oil.

  175. Our pastors, our prayer team, they're full of faith, they're ready to do that.

  176. But all we're doing is saying, let's look to the miracle worker together.

  177. In fact, let's just be reminded of what scripture tells us.

  178. Look at Psalm 147, it says this He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

  179. Jeremiah 30 says, I will restore to you the health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.

  180. And Exodus 15, I love this verse.

  181. It says, I am the Lord who does what?

  182. Who heals you.

  183. You read this Bible, and you come across a very regular pattern of healing, miracles, and supernatural ministry.

  184. Abraham came across a couple who was unable to have a child.

  185. He prayed for them and they became pregnant.

  186. Elijah raised a little boy from the dead.

  187. Peter and John walking alongside the road, heal a homeless man who was sick.

  188. There's actually kind of a funny story in the Bible where it's a church service and during the preaching, the guy falls out, falls asleep, falls out of a third floor window, and dies.

  189. The Apostle Paul walks over and just raises him from the dead.

  190. I mean, that's crazy.

  191. I mean, listen, if anybody ever says the Bible is boring, just be like, no, bro, you're boring.

  192. The Bible's full of all kinds of crazy stuff.

  193. But how many believe it wasn't just for back then, it's also for today?

  194. But you have to have faith for these things in order to see them begin to manifest in your life.

  195. In fact, I just want to show you this because in the New Testament, when you look at the life of Christ, there's an interesting phrase that Jesus said only two times in Scripture.

  196. Only two times it says that Jesus was amazed.

  197. I want you to think about that.

  198. First of all, fully divine, fully human.

  199. This is the Son of God.

  200. The fact that he even had the ability to experience the human emotion of being amazed by something or someone else is crazy in and of itself.

  201. But scripture only says there's two times where it says the phrase that Jesus was amazed.

  202. And the first one is in Matthew chapter 8.

    Matthew 8 chapter mention

  203. And this is when there was a Roman centurion who visits Jesus on the road and says, Hey, I got a friend that's sick back home in bed.

  204. Jesus, I need you to heal him.

  205. Jesus is like, I'm down, let's go heal him.

  206. And the guy's like, No, no, no, no, you don't have to go to the house.

  207. Just speak the word from right here.

  208. And he'll be healed.

  209. How many know that we could pray for something right now in this service or pray for someone that's not in this service?

  210. But because as we touch God, God can go and touch that person.

  211. That's good.

  212. After the last service, someone came up to me and was asking for healing for someone that wasn't even in the service.

  213. Now we're primarily going to pray for people that are here today.

  214. That's what we want to focus on.

  215. But I have faith that God is so powerful, He can go to any place in Jacksonville, any place in Florida, any place in the world because of the faith in this room.

  216. I believe that from the devil's perspective, Sunday morning right here might be the most dangerous room in all of Jacksonville.

  217. I mean, that's the power of faith.

  218. And what does Jesus say?

  219. It says, when he heard this, he was amazed.

  220. I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

  221. Then there's a similar story.

  222. Jesus is in his hometown.

  223. People are familiar with him, they're kind of used to him.

  224. There's not much faith.

  225. The Bible says not many miracles were able to take place.

  226. And what does Jesus say in this passage?

  227. Mark chapter 6.

    Mark 6 chapter mention

  228. He was amazed at what?

  229. Their lack of faith.

  230. Only two things that amaze Jesus: faith and a lack of faith.

  231. I don't know about you, but if we're going to amaze Jesus this morning, let's make sure it's for the right one.

  232. Let's make sure that we're gathered here today with some expectation, believing that God can move, wants to move, and will move.

  233. He can move, he wants to move, and he will move.

  234. Remember, Jesus said, I am willing.

  235. You got so discouraged that you lost hope.

  236. Perhaps today, the three words that you need to hear from Jesus more than anything else is, I am willing.

  237. You know that he can heal, but do you believe that he wants to do this in your life?

  238. I believe that he wants to do it.

  239. Amen?

  240. Let me show you one last story and then we're gonna get ready to pray together.

  241. This is in Mark chapter 5.

    Mark 5 chapter mention

  242. I'm sure you've seen this before, but listen for what the Spirit would say to you through this passage.

  243. Ready?

  244. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years.

  245. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had.

  246. All the money she had, she spent on doctors, nurses, visits, medicine.

  247. And what does it say?

  248. Yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.

  249. You ever been praying about something and the situation got worse?

  250. Oh, that's that's not good, right?

  251. Like the marriage got worse.

  252. Don't say amen.

  253. Okay?

  254. The relationship with a kid got worse, the anxiety got worse, the pain in your body got worse.

  255. And this is what happens next.

  256. It says this when she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak because she thought, if I just touch his clothes, say with me, church, I will be healed.

  257. Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

  258. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him.

  259. He turned around in the crowd and asked, Who touched my clothes?

  260. You see the people crowding against you, his disciples answered, and yet you ask, Who touched me?

  261. But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.

  262. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.

  263. He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you.

  264. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.

  265. How many people in here have at least one thing that they're believing God for that has not yet happened?

  266. Lift your hand.

  267. All of us, right?

  268. If you got more than one thing, lift two hands.

  269. If you got more than two things, lift a foot, right?

  270. Like, well, we all got stuff.

  271. But have you been waiting 12 years?

  272. Maybe.

  273. 12 years of pain, 12 years of suffering, 12 years of unknown, 12 years of struggle.

  274. It's hard to keep waiting on God to do something that you're believing him for.

  275. And yet she comes up behind Jesus and just by a mere touch was healed.

  276. Not that she had faith in the fabric of his clothes, but she had faith in getting close to the miracle worker, the one and only person who had the ability to help her and to heal her.

  277. And she fights through the crowd.

  278. She does what she has to do to get into the presence of Jesus.

  279. She does what she has to do to get into the presence of Jesus.

  280. Let me ask you a question.

  281. You ever woke up on a Sunday morning before and not felt like coming to church?

  282. Be honest.

  283. I'm a pastor.

  284. Sometimes I don't feel like coming to church.

  285. But then you came to church and you're so glad that you came.

  286. That ever happened to you before?

  287. Why?

  288. Because there's just something about getting in the presence of God, around the people of God, singing the songs of God, coming underneath the teaching of the word of God.

  289. You ever sat next to somebody that was like really worshiping, like way better than you, and you're like, all right, now I gotta really worship, okay?

  290. There's just something about fighting to get into the presence of Jesus.

  291. Sometimes the most powerful praise is praising God when you don't feel like praising God.

  292. If you only worship.

  293. Him when you feel like it, you're probably not gonna worship that much.

  294. But if you can train yourself to say, I don't do what I feel like doing, I do what I'm called to do and created to do and chosen to do, and that is to worship the creator of the universe, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.

  295. That's what this woman is doing.

  296. She had faith.

  297. But please don't mistake faith as a formula.

  298. This can be very dangerous, and we've seen this misuse of the text in the church.

  299. This is theologically inaccurate.

  300. It is dangerous to say to people that they're not being healed because they didn't have enough faith.

  301. Jesus never said that.

  302. That's actually harmful to speak that over a person's life.

  303. You can't say that someone's not healed because they don't have faith.

  304. That's not biblically accurate.

  305. However, you can also not say that faith is not a factor in seeing the supernatural in someone's life.

  306. The Bible says, according to your faith, let it be unto you.

  307. So faith is a factor in seeing God begin to do the impossible in your life, but we have to make sure that we don't make it a technique or a formula.

  308. I've been doing ministry a long time.

  309. I'm telling you right now, certain songs don't work.

  310. It's not a verse that works, it's not a certain speaker that works, not be prayed for by a certain pastor that works.

  311. No, only God works.

  312. You have to believe that.

  313. I'm telling you, like, we have three services now at Springs Church, which is incredible, right?

  314. Anybody part of a growing church that's moving and flourishing?

  315. It's amazing, right?

  316. I just preached the first service.

  317. I thought it went well.

  318. Did you think it went okay?

  319. I mean, it was I thought it was encouraging, right?

  320. It'd be very easy for me to walk into the second service and be like, well, the first service went well, so I guess the second service is gonna go great.

  321. No, I can't do that.

  322. Now I'm depending on my previous experience.

  323. Now I'm depending on, oh, if I say these certain things, then this is gonna go the same way as it did the first service.

  324. No, no, no, no.

  325. None of that works.

  326. Only God works.

  327. Only come to Him with desperation and purity and saying, Lord, I can't do this without you.

  328. He is attracted to desperation.

  329. He is attracted to humility.

  330. This is completely countercultural.

  331. The culture will tell you to act strong, the culture will tell you to make sure that you have it all together.

  332. The culture will tell you, I will not show any sort of weakness.

  333. That's not how the kingdom of God works.

  334. It says you have to be like a little child before the Lord.

  335. You got to be broken and humble and desperate.

  336. And then you begin to see God move in your life.

  337. Let me just share this with you because I think this is important for you to know, not just for today, but for the coming years, and as you pray for different things, and then we're gonna close together.

  338. There's different ways that God heals.

  339. Let me show you this verse in 1 Corinthians 12 when it talks about healings.

  340. It says, it's talking about the spiritual gifts to another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing, by that one spirit, to another miraculous powers.

  341. Nine spiritual gifts listed in Corinthians, revelation gifts, power gifts, vocal gifts.

  342. Today we're talking about this idea of power gifts, faith healing, miracles.

  343. But it says gifts of healing, not singular plural.

  344. Because there's many different types of healings that God will do in your life.

  345. This is important to remember.

  346. As I said, I'm the parent of a toddler and a teenager.

  347. I cannot parent both of my children the same way.

  348. Any moms or dads know what I'm talking about?

  349. I got this advice one time: you don't love your kids equally, you love them uniquely.

  350. Every kid requires something different.

  351. And the reality is, God, our father, he fathers us differently.

  352. And he will heal his children differently.

  353. There's different ways of healing.

  354. So let me just give you a few of them.

  355. The first one is what we would call immediate healing.

  356. You see this all throughout the Bible.

  357. Jesus comes across a person, he touches them, and by the power of God, they're healed instantly.

  358. Be clean, be free, be healed in Jesus' name.

  359. And they're different instantaneously.

  360. Anybody believe that God can still do that?

  361. I do.

  362. And you gotta have faith that God can move in that way.

  363. You could have walked in here with 18 years of chronic illness with something and walk out of here completely healed and free of that.

  364. In fact, I had a pastor friend of mine text me this the other day.

  365. I was so encouraged by it.

  366. This is him on stage holding up a wheelchair at his church.

  367. He says, Hey mate, I thought I'd share this with you in the family.

  368. We've had so many miracles during our nights of anointing, but last night a lady who was wheelchair bound for 17 years started walking.

  369. Praise Jesus.

  370. Immediate healing.

  371. The next healing is what I would call progressive healing or partial healing.

  372. This can sometimes be as practical, practical as I have pain, but not as much pain as I used to have.

  373. This could be as practical as the medicine is starting to work.

  374. This could be as practical as the counseling is starting to heal my marriage.

  375. Partial healing.

  376. In fact, another prayer request came into our church apt that I want to show this to you.

  377. I love it.

  378. It says, Father, thank you for all the healing you've done in my wife's knee since her surgery.

  379. I pray the remaining healing and strengthening will go quickly and smoothly.

  380. You see this in scripture.

  381. Remember, Jesus prays for the blind man.

  382. He gets dirt, spit, rubs it together, puts mud in the guy's eyes, right?

  383. And he says, Restore his sight.

  384. And then Jesus asked the guy a question, Can you see?

  385. Can you see?

  386. And what it do you remember what he says?

  387. The guy's like, uh, kind of.

  388. I see people, but they look like trees.

  389. And Jesus said, Okay, okay, okay, let's pray again.

  390. If Jesus had to pray twice, I gotta pray at least 10 times.

  391. I'm just gonna say, we gotta learn to pray and to keep on praying.

  392. We gotta learn to praise God not just for the complete miracle, but for the partial miracle.

  393. Come on, anybody grateful that you're not maybe like where you want to be, but you're not where you used to be?

  394. Come on.

  395. And the third type of healing is what I would call eternal healing.

  396. Some of us will not receive healing until the other side of eternity.

  397. That's the ultimate healing.

  398. We're all gonna be healed one day.

  399. Come on, the Bible says there's no disease or disability in heaven.

  400. The Bible says he'll wipe away every single tear.

  401. The Bible says when you're in heaven, there's no more pain in your body.

  402. In fact, the Bible says that you'll be given a resurrection body.

  403. Everybody in heaven's gonna have a six-pack.

  404. I'm just saying, no, I'm kidding.

  405. It doesn't say that.

  406. Eternal healing.

  407. I have a friend back home named Kyra, and she has a special need son, and she said to me, I can't wait to get to heaven because I can't wait to be with my son when he no longer has this disability.

  408. Complete, eternal, ultimate healing.

  409. Let's believe God this morning to heal in whatever way he wants to heal.

  410. But let's come to him with faith and audacity and boldness to believe him for the impossible this morning.

  411. Amen.

  412. We're gonna pray here in just a second, but I want to encourage you because I've been reading through the book of Acts myself in my own time, and I read these stories, I'm like, oh my gosh, cities were shaken, marriages restored, people giving radical generosity, bodies being healed, just miracles every day.

  413. And I'm like, man, I want to experience that stuff.

  414. And I just felt like the Holy Spirit convicted me and said, if you want to experience what's in the Bible, you gotta do what's in the Bible.

  415. We can't say, like, oh, I want to see that, but then we're not willing to do that.

  416. And one of the greatest demonstrations of what to do when someone is sick is found in James chapter 5, and that's what we're gonna get ready to do.

    James 5 chapter mention

  417. It says this James chapter 5, is anyone among you sick?

    James 5 chapter mention

  418. Let them call on the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

  419. The Lord will raise them up.

  420. Yeah, but what if God doesn't heal me today?

  421. He might not, but he might.

  422. I'm gonna do my job and I'm gonna trust God with his job.

  423. And when I don't understand his hand, I'm going to trust his heart.

  424. That he knows what is best, and he is going to work it all together for my good and for his glory.

  425. But I'm gonna pray today for healing and power and miracles.

  426. I'm gonna close with this.

  427. I have a friend named John Carino, he's a uh real estate attorney lawyer.

  428. Me and him traveled together in the Dominican not that long ago, did some missions work.

  429. And it was a couple years ago that John woke up one morning and he had zero healing, hear hearing in his left ear.

  430. Like he couldn't hear a thing, like nothing.

  431. Completely freaked him out.

  432. He thought maybe like my ears clogged.

  433. I don't know what's going on.

  434. He goes to the doctor, and the doctor had no encouraging news for him.

  435. He basically said, We've done all the tests, and you're right, like your hearing is literally gone.

  436. We don't know why, but it is gone.

  437. And he said, in that same appointment, that first appointment, the doctor started walking him through different hearing aids.

  438. And he was like, I'm in my 30s.

  439. Like, what are you talking about?

  440. Hearing aids.

  441. This is crazy.

  442. The next day was Sunday morning.

  443. You know what he did?

  444. He came to church and he said, I'm gonna pray for healing.

  445. And I'm gonna have people lay their hands on me, and I'm gonna do what James chapter 5 tells me to do.

    James 5 chapter mention

  446. I'm gonna let them anoint me with oil, and I'm gonna have them pray in faith for the sick.

  447. So he started pray for him, and at first he felt like nothing.

  448. We're praying for him, praying for him, praying for him.

  449. Called over another guy that really has like just a gift of faith and healing, everything.

  450. He's praying for him, praying for him, praying for him.

  451. Nothing, nothing, nothing.

  452. After about 30 or 40 minutes of praying, all of a sudden he started to feel like this crackling in his ear.

  453. He said it was like a warm sensation in his ear, and all of a sudden, just like not even gradual, just an instant boom.

  454. All of the hearing came back.

  455. It was actually in the middle of worship.

  456. He said the worship was so loud it startled him, startled him to get his hearing back.

  457. And he goes to the doctor the next day, and the doctor said, You're he, your hearing.

  458. I can't even explain.

  459. It's completely back.

  460. In fact, your hearing in that ear is even better than the other ear.

  461. And he sent the doctor, I'll show you the doctor's report.

  462. He sent the doctor's report to our pastor.

  463. This is literally a medically verifiable miracle.

  464. Come on, anybody believe that God can do it, still does it, wants to do it.

  465. I'm gonna ask you to stand to your feet all over this place.

  466. And I think we're going to begin to ask the Lord to move in our life.

  467. I'm gonna ask you to bow your head and close your eyes all over this place.

  468. Don't worry about the text message waiting for you in your pocket.

  469. Don't worry about what you're doing for lunch.

  470. Don't worry about the person sitting next to you.

  471. With every head bowed and every eye closed, let the close of this service be an opportunity for you to have an exchange with heaven.

  472. In a minute, I'm gonna call people forward.

  473. I want you to come with faith in your heart.

  474. I want you to come believing that God has a desire to touch your life.

  475. I don't know why God heals some people and then heals other people differently or later.

  476. I can't explain all that.

  477. I'm not gonna pretend like I know.

  478. I'm not gonna stand up here and say every person today is gonna be healed, but I am gonna give you permission to believe.

  479. I am gonna say to you today, let's focus on what we do know.

  480. God is good.

  481. Jesus loves you, He wants to hear our prayers, He has a desire to heal.

  482. So I know enough to come to God boldly today and say, Lord, would you touch my mind, my thoughts?

  483. I feel like I can't stop thinking these things that are not your thoughts.

  484. God, heal my heart and my emotions.

  485. I'm hurting.

  486. I've been crying, my heart is crushed, I'm grieving.

  487. There's relational pain that I can't shake.

  488. And no therapist or self-help book or podcast is gonna be able to heal me, but God, you are my healer.

  489. Lord, I got pain in my knee, in my hip, in my back.

  490. I got a report this year.

  491. I don't know what to do.

  492. It's scaring me, it's unknown.

  493. My family is fearful.

  494. Lord, would you touch my body and make me whole?

  495. Lord, do what only you can do.

  496. So, in just a moment, as you get ready to come out of your seat and come forward, our pastors and prayer team, they're gonna be up here in the front.

  497. I'm gonna hop down and pray for people as well.

  498. But if you don't come forward and you stay in your seat, I'm gonna ask you to worship with all of your heart.

  499. I'm gonna ask you to sing.

  500. I'm gonna ask you to stretch out your hand and begin to pray for your brothers and sisters that are up at this altar.

  501. Because guess what?

  502. Somebody might get healed today, not because a pastor's praying for them, maybe because there's a woman in the back row that has faith and is stretching out her hand and saying, God, you heal me of cancer, will you heal them of cancer?

  503. So, right now, if you're hurting, sick, need healing, physical, mental, emotional, whatever it is, would you just step out of your seat and just come to the front of this stage?

  504. We're gonna pray for you.

  505. We're gonna anoint you with oil, which is just a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

  506. Come on, come with faith, come with boldness.

  507. Let's pray, let's believe today.

  508. The rest of us, come on, let's lift our voice, let's begin to sing all over this place.

  509. Thanks for listening to the Spring Church podcast.

  510. We pray that you were encouraged, uplifted, and challenged by the message today.
