  1. Shalom, beloved. You are warmly welcome to today's morning glory devotion.

  2. I am delighted to be coming your way again with

  3. another inspired devotional written by Mr. and Mrs. Kusi from

  4. the Harvest Chapel International, Denyame Kumasi. Let us begin by

  5. sharing a word of prayer. Dear Father, You bless Your

  6. holy name for the gift of life and the privilege

  7. to gather in Your presence. As we listen to Your

  8. word today, please speak to our hearts, renew our minds,

  9. and give us the will to put into practice what

  10. Your Spirit is saying to us, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

  11. Let us kindly take our confession for today from Joshua

    Joshua 1:8

  12. chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 the verse 8.

    Joshua 1 chapter mention

  13. This book of the law shall not depart from my mouth,

  14. but I shall meditate in it day and night, that

  15. I may observe to do according to all that is

  16. written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous,

  17. and then I will have good success. Amen. Today's message,

  18. written by Mr. and Mrs. Cousy, is titled, God Has

  19. a Wild Card. God Has a Wild Card. Our scripture

  20. reading shall be taken from Ruth chapter 4, verse 16

    Ruth 4:16–17

  21. to 17. Ruth chapter 4, verse 16 to 17. I

    Ruth 4:16–17

  22. will be reading from the New King James Version. Then

  23. Naomi took the child. and laid him on her bosom,

  24. and became a nurse to him. Also the neighbor woman

  25. gave him a name, saying, There is a son born

  26. to Naomi, and they called his name Obed. He is

  27. the father of Jesse, the father of David. The Lord

  28. add his blessings to the reading and hearing of this word.

  29. Thanks be to God. Amen. God has a wild card.

  30. God has a wild card. Quite recently, some friends and

  31. I were sitting around a table playing a game of

  32. cards called Uno. As the game went on, I noticed

  33. a quiet strategy. People rarely played their wild cards early.

  34. They held on to them tucked away in reserves. waiting

  35. for the exact moment when everyone else thought the game

  36. was decided. Then, just when the outcome seemed completely obvious,

  37. someone would throw down a wild card, and the entire

  38. direction of the game would change suddenly. This made me

  39. think about how God works when our lives feel completely spent.

  40. There are seasons when we look at our circumstances and

  41. conclude that the story is finished The opportunities have passed.

  42. The losses are too heavy. The damage is done. But

  43. while we are busy calculating the empty hand we are holding,

  44. God still has a card in reserve. Naomi understood what

  45. it meant to have an empty hand. She left Bethlehem

  46. full of hope alongside her husband and two sons. But

  47. life did not go according to her plans. she lost

  48. her husband and her sons. The future she had envisioned

  49. was buried in the dust of a foreign land. When

  50. she finally returned to her hometown, she told her old neighbors,

  51. Do not call me Naomi, which means pleasant. Call me Mara,

  52. because the Almighty has made me bitter. Perhaps you know

  53. that exact bitterness. You might be looking at a failed venture,

  54. a broken relationship, or a fiscal struggle that refuses to lift.

  55. You have run the numbers and they do not add up.

  56. Like Naomi, you have written the final chapter of your

  57. own story and it ends in defeat. But Naomi did

  58. not know what God had in reserve. Hidden in the

  59. quiet loyalty of her daughter-in-law, Ruth, was God's unexpected move.

  60. Ruth would meet Boaz. Their home would welcome a baby

  61. boy named Obed. And that little boy, laid in the

  62. arms of a grandmother who thought her life was over,

  63. would become the grandfather of King David and the ancestor

  64. of Jesus Christ. Beloved, Naomi judged her life by the

  65. painful pain she was stuck on. But God was looking

  66. at the whole book. He's never surprised by your setbacks.

  67. He's not scrambling for a solution to your crisis. Even

  68. when the silence feels absolute, his hand is already moving.

  69. What looks like the final page of your grief may

  70. simply be the space where he reveals his unexpected grace.

  71. Would you trust him today? would you trust him with

  72. the hand you are holding? God richly bless you. Our

  73. memory verse for today is taken from Psalm 71, the

  74. verse 14. Psalm 71, the verse 14. I will be

  75. reading from the New King James Version. But as for me,

  76. I will hope continually and will praise you more and more.

  77. But as for me, I will hope continually and will

  78. praise you more and more. Amen. Let us kindly share

  79. a word of prayer. Our Heavenly Father, we thank you

  80. that you always have a plan even when our circumstances

  81. seem completely hopeless. Forgive us for the times we have

  82. judged our lives by our painful seasons. and concluded that

  83. our story was over. Please give us the grace to

  84. completely trust you with the empty hands we are holding today,

  85. knowing that you are never surprised by our setbacks. Please

  86. strengthen our faith to wait on your unexpected grace and

  87. let your perfect will unfold in our lives. In Jesus'

  88. mighty name. Amen. Beloved, what looks like the final page

  89. of your grief may simply be the space where God

  90. plays his wild card and reveals his unexpected grace. So

  91. simply keep trusting in God. Amen. God richly bless you

  92. for being an active participant all through this week's Morning

  93. Glory devotional messages. Kindly join us again for another episode
