  1. Hey, everybody, we're the Bible Guys, and if you're just

  2. tuning in recently, just know that we are showing a

  3. little bit of reruns for a few months, and then

  4. we'll be back, bigger and better than ever on August

  5. thirty first, because behind the scenes we're taking a hiatus

  6. to do some very important things.

  7. Yeah, we're building building out a new studio and we've

  8. got some new structure. Super excited about it. So August

  9. thirty first, brand new content. But in the meantime, enjoy

  10. some of our greatest hits.

  11. You're listening to The Bible Guys, a podcast where a

  12. couple of friends talk about the Bible in fun, in

  13. practical ways.

  14. It's already it's money, yes, and good morning, good morning.

  15. Everybody else likes it when you sing it, Chris, Hey,

  16. but I just decided to let's get our podcasts shut down.

  17. Oh I forgot about that.

  18. That's right.

  19. There may be musical rights, okay. And by the way,

  20. it was not a good idea, apparently because I was.

  21. It was ruined by a copes Dingly.

  22. But you're an important guy, man.

  23. Hey, I decided to let the people know where the

  24. good morning song comes from.

  25. If they didn't know it comes.

  26. Yes, it's a commercial. Commercial commercial. You're promoting the movie.

  27. I promote a lot of movies, I know, but this

  28. one here, you let them know where it came from

  29. in case they didn't know.

  30. Yeah, singing in the ring, Yeah yeah, because you know,

  31. Lord knows that movie needs more viewers, right, yeah from

  32. nineteen what nineteen forty something?

  33. So that's funny. So hey, good morning.

  34. Good morning, all, good morning.

  35. And we are the Bible guys more, and we are

  36. jumping into a segment called Who's most Like?

  37. This is one of our favorite segments.

  38. I like it, Yes, because it's it's it's fun choices.

  39. Okay, Chris, Okay, ready you Jeff, Who's most likely to

  40. be frightened by a clown?

  41. I don't know. Are you scared of clowns?

  42. I think I can be. Yeah, i'd say me probably.

  43. I think the only clown I've ever been frightened by

  44. is Pennywise. Yeah, well, any original?

  45. Did you as a kid? I already know the answer

  46. to this. Did you watch horror movies?

  47. No?

  48. Okay, so I did. I saw all of them. I

  49. saw all the movies, okay, okay, And why is this

  50. peeping when I have it on airplane mode.

  51. You have to have do not disturb mode airplane mode,

  52. so hip focus. Wait a minute. If you have it

  53. on airplane mode, still going, it comes through.

  54. No airplane mode means you have no the signal you're

  55. not connected to You're on Wi Fi.

  56. No, I'm not on Wi Fi. Look, no Wi Fi.

  57. I don't know, Chris.

  58. It's a enigma.

  59. It is. It's magic.

  60. So I saw all the movies and in my mind

  61. that are pretty gruesome.

  62. Okay, well that's not me. That must be you. Okay, okay,

  63. see see when there's when you live, right, Chris? Yeah,

  64. you sleep well.

  65. But yeah, no TV.

  66. I didn't didn't go to movies.

  67. I had a TV with no rules.

  68. Yeah right. Who's most likely to land the role of

  69. a comedian in a movie? Oh that's you two? You

  70. think so, I think so?

  71. Well? Yeah, just to be in a movie is a

  72. good thing, yes, right.

  73. And then the comedian in a movie, Yeah, I think

  74. it'd be good.

  75. Yeah, I think I might be able to pull that off.

  76. Yeah all right.

  77. Number three, who's most likely to miss a flight because

  78. they were packing at the last minute?

  79. I think I fly more, but I don't pack at

  80. the last minute.

  81. Yeah, I'm going to say I'm going to say that

  82. probably has to be me. Although I will say this,

  83. I've never missed a flight because because I did not pack.

  84. I've never even come close to that. However, I have

  85. woken up on the morning of a flight. In fact,

  86. my last flight, I woke up in the morning of

  87. that flight and packed in the morning.

  88. Oh yeah, I've done that before. Yeah, but I only

  89. travel with one carry on bag in a personal bag. Yeah,

  90. I haven't packed a bag I had to check in

  91. years and years and years, and I'll go for two

  92. weeks out of a carry on So yeah, I've got

  93. that down to a science. Now.

  94. Wow.

  95. So I don't check backs. My wife does, and they

  96. lose their bags, Like why do you keep how many

  97. times do you have to have them lose your bag

  98. before you stop checking a bag?

  99. Right?

  100. Anyways, who's most likely to have the most incredible comebacks?

  101. Oh, that'd be you.

  102. I think that could like like comebacks like zingers.

  103. Yeah, I think so, okay, yeah, that'd be you.

  104. And only because I think you already have them.

  105. I think you.

  106. Have them sort of like already in your brain. You've

  107. got like thirty or forty comebacks that you always.

  108. Bail to I do, yeah, you know what I mean.

  109. And and you'd be like, oh, I can get you

  110. some crans if you want them.

  111. Yeah, in the lobby.

  112. So yeah, that's funny.

  113. And then number five, who's most likely to be okay

  114. with eating chicken nuggets for the rest of their life?

  115. What that's probably gonna be me is that you Yeah

  116. I like chicken nuggets.

  117. Yeah, I like chicken nuggets too, not as much as

  118. my family does, but yeah, i'd have to I'd have

  119. to vote you too.

  120. So so yeah, so I'm the clue.

  121. Yeah, I'm the comedian in the movie.

  122. I'm probably the guy for the last You're you're the

  123. last two.

  124. And the nugget kid.

  125. There you go. That's good for me. Yeah, that's good

  126. for me.

  127. Yeah, that's funny.

  128. So hey, I think that the comeback thing is I

  129. just have I have like a sassy yeah thing in me. Yeah,

  130. just and I'm not most of the time, not even

  131. feeling grumpy. I just feel sassy, right right, So it

  132. just comes out.

  133. Yeah. Well you know what I think.

  134. I think, Jeff, the way to have incredible comebacks you

  135. have to have a really sharp brain with a lot

  136. of wisdom and it sounds and a lot of and

  137. a lot of just things ready, you.

  138. Know, to give to people.

  139. And you know full you know, also had a lot

  140. of wisdom, and I had a lot of things, were

  141. things ready to give the people. It was the guy

  142. who wrote Proverbs. Oh yeah, yeah, it was Solomon Solomon.

  143. So so in this way Proverbs, in this small way,

  144. you are sort.

  145. Of like Solomon, Yes, Solomon and Jeff Solomon of old

  146. I wonder if you like chicken nuggets?

  147. I bet you he did. Do you think they had

  148. chicken nuggets? They had chicken chicken.

  149. You make nuggets out of chicken.

  150. Yeah, but they.

  151. Didn't have to grind up chicken in order to process

  152. it and deep fry it.

  153. I don't think they deep fried back then, you know.

  154. Oh yeah, I think they had full awful back then. Sure.

  155. But do you think we just recently Colonel Sanders discovered

  156. fried chicken?

  157. Well, no, but fried chicken. I know when that was invented.

  158. It was during slavery times.

  159. Really, yeah, you don't think they were doing it beforehand? Well,

  160. I think they brought it with him.

  161. I hate to say this, but I do know the

  162. origin of this. They were trying to figure out how

  163. to bring more calories to a piece of chicken for

  164. people working in fields. Right, So they discovered that frygant

  165. oil could triple the amount of calories for people so

  166. that they.

  167. Could work along. Oh wow, right, it's a horrible beginning.

  168. It's a horrible.

  169. Horrible origin story. But that is where fried chicken came from.

  170. Wow. Okay, well, I'm going to trust you on that one.

  171. Yeah, terrible.

  172. So with Hezekiah, he's been digging through the temple yep,

  173. they're cleaning stuff up, yep, and he's deciding to lean

  174. into the word. He's going to find out and then

  175. you know what he did. But he found several of

  176. the proverbs of Solomon that hadn't been published yet in

  177. the temple. So it says this in Proverbs chapter twenty five.

  178. And we haven't read this one yet, because there are more.

  179. These are more proverbs of Solomon collected by the advisors

  180. of King Hezekiah of Judah.

  181. Oh cool, really, well, I mean our goal is to

  182. go in chronological orders, that's right.

  183. So it's God's privilege, the Bible says, to conceal things,

  184. and the king's privilege to discover them. No one can

  185. comprehend the height of heaven, the depth of the earth,

  186. or all that goes on in the king's mind. Remove

  187. the impurities from silver, and the sterling will be ready

  188. for the silversmith. Remove the wicked from the king's court,

  189. and his reign will be made secure by justice. Don't

  190. demand an audience with the king or push for a

  191. place among the great. It's better to wait for an

  192. invitation to the head table than to be sent away

  193. in public disgrace just because you've seen something. Don't be

  194. in a hurry to go to court, for what will

  195. you do in the end if your neighbor deals you

  196. a shameful defeat. When arguing with your neighbor, don't betray

  197. another person's secret. Others may accuse you of gossip, and

  198. you will never again regain your good reputation. Timely advice

  199. is lovely like golden apples in a silver basket to

  200. one who listens. Valid criticism is like a gold earring

  201. or other gold jewelry. Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in

  202. the summer, and they revive the spirit of their employer.

  203. A person who promises a gift but doesn't give it

  204. is like clouds and wind that bring no rain. Patients

  205. can persuade a prince, and soft speech can break bones.

  206. Do you like honey? Don't eat too much or it'll

  207. make you sick. Don't visit your neighbors too often, or

  208. you will wear out your welcome. Telling lies about others

  209. is as harmful as hitting them with an axe, wounding

  210. them with the sword, or shooting them with a sharp harrow.

  211. Putting confidence in an unreliable person in times of trouble

  212. is life chewing with a broken tooth or walking on

  213. a lame foot. Singing cheerful songs to a person with

  214. a heavy heart is like taking someone's coat in cold

  215. weather or pouring vinegar in a wound. If your enemies

  216. are hungry, give them food to eat. If they're thirsty,

  217. give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals

  218. of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward

  219. you as surely as the north wind brings rain. So

  220. a gossiping tongue causes anger. It's better to live alone

  221. in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome

  222. wife and a lovely home. That's how you know we're

  223. still reading Solomon's writings. Dude, he writes this about every

  224. fifth chapter, doesn't it. In the Book of Proverbs, good

  225. news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.

  226. If the god they give in to the wicked, It's

  227. like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring. It's not

  228. good to eat too much, honey, And it's not good

  229. to seek honors for yourself. A person without self control

  230. is like a city with broken down walls. Well there

  231. you go.

  232. Yeah, So the similes here are these?

  233. These are similies, right, because there's the word like sure,

  234. the similes here are just unbelievable. Think about all the

  235. word pictures that you just covered. Yeah, it says this

  236. doing this is like this, and what a great By

  237. the way, I love I love those. I love those

  238. because he takes a you know, a lot in a

  239. lot of cases, a miserable experience, and he says like, hey,

  240. did you ever Hey, have you ever trusted somebody who

  241. was untrustworthy in a time of trouble?

  242. Yeah?

  243. Yeah?

  244. Did you ever chew on something with a broken tooth?

  245. Did you ever walk with a lame foot? You know,

  246. the pain of every single step, the pain of every bike? Yeah, yeah,

  247. that's what it's like to trust somebody who's untrustworthy in

  248. times of trouble telling, Telling lies about each other is

  249. as harmful as hitting them with an axe. That's a

  250. gruesome metaphor word picture, right, Yeah, and so yeah, it

  251. just goes on and on and on.

  252. Person who promises a gift but doesn't give it. It's like

  253. clouds and win that bring no rain, singing the promise

  254. rain with no rain.

  255. Right yeah, singing cheerful songs to a person with a

  256. heavy heart. Yeah, it's like pouring vinegar and something after

  257. you just cut yourself.

  258. A person without self control is like a city with

  259. broken down walls.

  260. Yeah, it's pretty crazy.

  261. Your self control, how you manage yourself is what protects

  262. you from ruining your life. Yeah, that's what he's talking about.

  263. So so you almost don't even want You almost want

  264. to avoid Solomon's wife comments.

  265. Yeah right, It's like it's.

  266. Like, who's going to touch that with a ten football?

  267. Well, the guy who had a thousand wives? He can.

  268. He can touch it with a ten foot poll right,

  269. he can touch with a tenant pole. He can touch

  270. the ten milimeter pole. He does, he does. All he

  271. has to do is just look around. That's all you

  272. have to do.

  273. Yeah, it's better to live alone in the quarter of

  274. an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.

  275. That is hilarious. Right, So he's really just saying, it's what.

  276. Do you think about it? You should you should explain.

  277. It a quarrelsome wife.

  278. I'm joking.

  279. Oh, I was going to say, what are you talking about?

  280. You about to get in trouble? You know Liz is listening, Yeah,

  281. of course she is. Hey, we all just went to

  282. dinner last night. Yes, and Liz was talking about listening and.

  283. Talking back to it.

  284. Yeah, yeah, talking back to back to the podcast podcast.

  285. Yeah yeah, yeah. Yeah.

  286. In fact, so I would say, I would say ninety

  287. nine times out of one hundred. Maybe perhaps she listens

  288. to the bibble guys getting ready because she works five

  289. days a week, right, Monday through Friday, and we have

  290. this podcast Fridays a week, Right, so she will get

  291. up in the morning, put on our makeup and listen

  292. and I could hear it from the master bathroom. Oh

  293. and a lot of times, Sugar it up slightly before me, right,

  294. so she has to get a little bit earlier for

  295. where she works and so by the time she's ready

  296. to walk out the door, that's about the time that

  297. I crawl out of bed, right, And it works out

  298. because she's in the bathroom by herself, right, And so

  299. anyway she will instead.

  300. Of yelling at me in bed, she'll yell at the phone.

  301. Right.

  302. But every once in a while she'll like, she'll come

  303. in and she'll.

  304. Be like, you know, she'll come out of the bathroom,

  305. she'll say, what were you thinking or something like that.

  306. Well, it's a good it's good news that you have

  307. almost no concept of the meaning or the experience of.

  308. That, that's correct. It is so foreign to me. I'm like, Solomon,

  309. what do you mean, Solomon? I don't understand this piece

  310. of wisdom?

  311. Right? What does the Galatian say to the pure? All

  312. things are pure?

  313. That's so funny, so so yeah, but I do think

  314. it is funny though. But the other day, didn't I

  315. get in trouble? I made like a wife comment or

  316. a woman comment from the stage, and there was somebody

  317. who wrote in I can't believe Chris said that from

  318. the stage.

  319. Some kind of sexist statement or something it was, and

  320. you were just making I.

  321. Was poking fun at Adam and Eve. That's what it was.

  322. And I said something like, oh, come on, it was

  323. something like it was it was. It was something about.

  324. Adam and Eve and how Eve was the one that

  325. ate the apple, and and she blamed Adam or something

  326. like this.

  327. And I just believe this. She blamed the snake, she

  328. blamed the snake.

  329. And yeah, so anyway, it was something about that, and

  330. and somebody wrote in and said, I can't believe that

  331. he would say, you know what, I don't want to

  332. waste people's time. But it's on the tip of my

  333. tongue what I said exactly.

  334. The thing about comedy is this, especially when it comes

  335. to generalities. Yes, so generalities can be funny, yes, And

  336. the reason is all of us kind of understand the generalities,

  337. so where you might look at it and go, well,

  338. not my wife, but you can look at it and go,

  339. his wife and his wife and his wife kind of

  340. are that way, right or whatever, or you know, not

  341. my opinions, but other people's opinions. They're not my behaviors,

  342. but other people's. So it's not that every single person

  343. in a group is exactly the same way.

  344. Oh, I know.

  345. The groups tend to have generalities and then they wind

  346. up being funny. And so the idea behind comedy is

  347. sometimes the group dynamic is a funny dynastic.

  348. I know it was.

  349. So when she was quoting back to the serpent in

  350. her conversation, she said, God said you must not eat

  351. it or even touch it.

  352. Yes, you die. And by the way, that's what God

  353. did not say.

  354. He didn't say that, so I didn't say anything about

  355. don't touch it. He said don't eat.

  356. It, okay.

  357. So I made the joke and I said, well, I said,

  358. she's being dramatic because you know she's a woman. Oh yeah.

  359. And then and then everybody laughed hard. And then I

  360. said immediately, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. And then

  361. and then somebody wrote in.

  362. So you took a beating for that. Well, so then

  363. now you just thought you go online and just tell.

  364. You only there's only right, right, There was only like

  365. one person that wrote in.

  366. I told five thousand people this Sunday, and I had

  367. some people, man, so I thought I'd tell ten thousand

  368. more today.

  369. Right, somebody wrote in, I think it was only one person.

  370. We got to talk about that self disciplined thing again.

  371. Remember self control. A person without self control is like

  372. a city with broken down walls. You have any defenses.

  373. I have no defenses. I'm like, I'm like a city.

  374. I'm like a city with no walls. Come at me

  375. with your.

  376. Exactly. They're coming, the angry mobs. Your walls are down,

  377. and the angry mobs are coming.

  378. This one woman said, women need to get out of

  379. that stigma, so don't fuel it by your jokes.

  380. That's what she said.

  381. Okay, yeah, well it's your jokes are single handedly oppressing.

  382. Well, I mean she's not, you know, it's you know,

  383. I mean, you know, I don't want to take away

  384. her argument.

  385. It's not like she's wrong. It's just that, you know,

  386. my theory is lighting up a little bit.

  387. Yeah, we're just joking, just joking, jo. Comedy is good

  388. for the soul. Yes, so there is a thing here.

  389. You know. One of the things I love about the

  390. Bible is how the Bible gives evidence and weight and

  391. confidence for a Christian to say this, the Bible is

  392. trustworthy and truth. And in one of these a lot

  393. of times, it's when the Bible references itself, because remember

  394. the Bible wasn't written all a one time it is

  395. written by forty something authors over fifteen hundred year period.

  396. That's right.

  397. And Jesus quotes this passage. So Jesus quotes verse six

  398. and seven. What he does is he adapts them into

  399. a parable right. So verse six he said, don't demand

  400. an audience with the king or push for a place

  401. among the great. It's better to wait for an invitation

  402. at the head of the table, to the head of

  403. the table, than to be sent away in public disgrace. Remember,

  404. he tells the story, and he says, man, when you

  405. go to a party, don't go sit up at the front,

  406. sit at the end, because it's better to be invited

  407. up than it is if an important person comes and

  408. they make you move down. And you know, so Jesus

  409. believes in the value of Solomon's writings. And you know,

  410. Jesus was unbelievably wise even as a young man. He's

  411. sitting at the on the steps of the temple teaching

  412. at twelve years old, and all these you know, leaders

  413. are just amazed at his wisdom. Well, how do you

  414. get wisdom? You get wisdom? The Bible says two different ways.

  415. In the Book of James, it says, if anybody lacks wisdom,

  416. let him ask God, who gives generously to everybody. So

  417. if you need wisdom, keep asking God for wisdom. The

  418. other way that you're going to get wisdom, and the

  419. way God's going to give you the wisdom is through

  420. his words, right, And so spending time in the Word

  421. will will increase your wisdom. And so Jesus now uses

  422. the writings of Solomon that Haszekiyah digs out of the temple. Yeah,

  423. and he uses and he makes this thing. So it

  424. validates jesus opinion of the value of the writing of

  425. yeah proverbs. So if Jesus thought it was important, then

  426. then we should think it's important to know the writings

  427. of Solomon. I think that's that's what I'm trying to say.

  428. Yeah, yeah, look fourteen, he's where that is. And it's

  429. always it's.

  430. Always uh seven through eleven.

  431. Yeah, it's always incredible when g Jesus refers to the

  432. Old Testament or Paul will quote the Old Testament because

  433. it is a again, it's you know, Jesus came to

  434. give us a new covenant, right, it's a new covenant

  435. for salvation. Right. So Jesus says, I didn't come to

  436. abolish the law. I came to fulfill the law right, right,

  437. and so and so to you know, and and again

  438. a lot of the laws given by Moses were very

  439. you know, direct for that group of people, for that

  440. group of time, right, because you know how we distinguished that.

  441. We just talked about this on a stuff the pastor.

  442. So there's general commandments from God for all people, and

  443. then there are specific uh, you know, assignments or or

  444. rule followings or promises, you know, for for just certain

  445. groups of people. But for the most part, you know,

  446. all scripture is given to point to.

  447. Jesus. Didn't somebody say when we were kids who said it?

  448. You'll you'll remember who said, you can take any verse

  449. of the Old Testament and if you work hard enough,

  450. you can connect it to Jesus.

  451. Oh yeah, a lot of them you can certainly take.

  452. So I've heard pastors say you can take every book

  453. of the Bible points to Jesus, right, and then just

  454. about every passage points to Jesus. Or you can get

  455. to Jesus from every passage.

  456. Yeah, yeah, You all you do is work yourself out.

  457. You just zoom out a little bit, right, you.

  458. Talk about that verse and then you say, the verse

  459. is given in this context, and the and the and

  460. the passage surrounding it, and it was during this timeframe,

  461. and and and then boom, then you're there.

  462. Well, it's all about him and how to get to him,

  463. right that that that's what it's about. And so that's

  464. why John calls Jesus the Word. He's the Word of God. Right,

  465. so we we find out about the Word of God

  466. from the Word of God. That that's it. So so

  467. that that passage that Jesus uses there, it's it's better

  468. for an invitation ahead of the table. There's something about that.

  469. It's just a little bit of humility, right that. That's

  470. what he's talking about, being a humble person. Yeah, there's

  471. so many others though, you know, I love the other one.

  472. Timely advice is lovely like golden apples in a silver basket.

  473. And to one who listens, valid criticism is like a

  474. gold earring or other gold jewelry. You and I we

  475. have several different creative things that we're a part of,

  476. and we have a high value on our staff of

  477. make it better. But the only way you can make

  478. it better is to allow valid criticism. So for you

  479. and me, we have to make sure first of all,

  480. that the criticism is valid, right, right, and that it's

  481. not just an opinion, but it's a valid thing. But

  482. if we're humble enough and we can accept timely advice,

  483. and if we are able to accept from people that

  484. we love and that we trust, we can accept valid criticism,

  485. then it's like golden apples and a silver basket. It's

  486. like golden ear rings and other gold jewelry. It makes

  487. everything better if we can accept the timely advice, and

  488. if we can accept valid criticism, it's going to make

  489. everything better. You know, let me so we shouldn't be

  490. so sensitive, is what I'm saying.

  491. I want, I want to take the last minute to

  492. give a shout out, a personal shout out to anybody

  493. who knows this guy personally, because you know, a lot

  494. of our listeners don't know right our friends. Right, So

  495. we have a good friend, Dave Wilson that we just hired,

  496. and you've probably already noticed this, but I.

  497. Want to give him a shout out.

  498. Have you noticed recently in meetings he is voiced making

  499. sure that pastors don't have egos.

  500. Oh, you know, he's referred to that lot. Yeah, talks

  501. about it a lot.

  502. And I got to tell you for somebody who you know,

  503. he's got like he's really connected to a lot of

  504. important people, and he's got like a lot of things

  505. that could inflate his ego.

  506. Right, I'm very talented, highly skilled, yeah, atrageously successful guy

  507. in life in every area that he's tried to tackle.

  508. Right, yeah.

  509. And who has NFL players you know with you know

  510. who text back and forth and all these kinds of things, right, yeah,

  511. you can you can feel important, right, But he always

  512. talks about ego ego checks and how we as pastors

  513. shouldn't have egos. And I have to tell you that,

  514. because I've been his friend for twenty years, I almost

  515. wonder how I would be without him, Like because there

  516. I grew up in an environment maybe maybe maybe, but

  517. when I grew up in an environment and in a

  518. culture where pastors, it seems like, now looking back, that's

  519. all they have.

  520. Where's egos? Where egos?

  521. Right? So many people who were big fishes in small

  522. ponds thought they were way bigger than they should, you know.

  523. And it's this idea of like.

  524. Thinking you're actually important and and uh, but in the

  525. great scheme of things, a great reminder is what Jesus

  526. quoted in Luke fourteen and what Solomon writes here, right,

  527. which is like, hey, let's let's all have the practice

  528. of you know, even if we think we're higher than

  529. we are, let's sit lower than we are, right, And

  530. let's let let's let's the only reason that we should

  531. move up in this world is not by ourselves but

  532. by others. Yeah, right, let others move us up. Don't

  533. don't don't move up yourself. And that's a great practice

  534. for all of us. Think about that humility in every

  535. single area which one of us have ever been under

  536. a leader, Like you know you've worked at a lot

  537. of different places as a kid, Right, aren't the best bosses.

  538. Those who are humble?

  539. Yes, those who.

  540. Are servants, those who are not afraid to have conversations

  541. and do things that you know everybody else can do.

  542. The ones who are self important and self inflated, those

  543. are the worst kinds of bosses to work for. And

  544. unless they're just joking about it or something like that, right,

  545. but if they truly believe that they're that they're important, oh,

  546. it's just the worst.

  547. Well. I love the fact that you've got a king

  548. here who finds some writings from another wise king. And

  549. the first writings in his list are all about a king. Yeah,

  550. we don't know that Solomon wrote them in this order.

  551. I know that haze Kaya put them down in this order. Yeah, right,

  552. And so it's very clear that you've got a humble

  553. king trying to figure out how to be a better king.

  554. That's what all these are.

  555. That's great.

  556. The first four verses are about the kings, and then

  557. he goes on from there and talks about being able

  558. to take advice and being humble and all those things.

  559. Here's a guy who wants to be a godly man,

  560. and he's recognizing, first of all, I need to figure

  561. out how to be a wise king and a good

  562. godly king. Yeah that's great humility, man.

  563. But hey, that is definitely our time. And so what

  564. a great chapter.

  565. And we will continue on in Proverbs tomorrow on the

  566. Bible Gosh
