We're going to be talking about the supernatural life.
-
And when we talk about the supernatural life, it's a series about developing a new way of thinking.
-
A new way to live.
-
And by choosing life to be extraordinary.
-
We will walk as supernatural people if we'll just walk according to this book.
-
It may look different for every one of us.
-
But when we walk by the Word of God, we're walking in the supernatural.
-
And there will be something about us that will distinguish us.
-
We'll be different from the rest of the bunch.
-
Whether we're preachers or plumbers, whether we're teachers or business people, salespeople, factory workers, or work in good places like restaurants.
-
And so it'll look different for every one of us because we're in different fields of life.
-
But wherever you are, you can walk in the supernatural.
-
And I used to work in sales.
-
And each one of them had a different dynamic to it.
-
People in the service industry.
-
Another one over here.
-
They keep us looking good.
-
Like uh my name, my name.
-
The name just left like No no no, Benny.
-
Ah, Benny.
-
It looks great.
-
Yeah.
-
Joe.
-
Joe?
-
And so there's different areas of life where we are.
-
There will be something distinct about our lives.
-
We will stand out, we will be outstanding.
-
There was something different about the early believers.
-
The first believers that started after Jesus.
-
They looked normal.
-
They said, These people, they're not educated, they didn't go to school, but there's something different about them.
-
And what caused them to stand out.
-
Look at Deuteronomy 28:10 as we begin this morning.
-
Remember, we're talking about the supernatural life.
-
And really, I'm going to give you the blueprint for living like this.
-
And we're going to cover it over the next four weeks.
-
It rests upon these four things.
-
Refuse, refutar, resist, reject, and rest.
-
The four Rs.
-
We're gonna have to change that.
-
In Spanish, there was no we can say relax.
-
Refuse resist reject and rest.
-
The four R is to live a supernatural life.
-
Today we're gonna cover the first one, Refuse.
-
Refuse.
-
Don't help me.
-
We preach alone.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord God.
-
You know the presence of the Lord is here, right?
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Can you say thank you, Lord?
-
Can you lift your hand for a moment and say Jesus?
-
We welcome you.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
So Deuteronomy 28:10.
-
We can only give you a little bit of Deuteronomy 28, one verse.
-
But it talks about the blessings of the Lord upon his people.
-
It says, then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you.
-
Why?
-
Because you're walking and living a supernatural life.
-
Because the Lord is with us.
-
And they will be in awe of you.
-
Isn't that what they said of the first Christians?
-
Who are these people?
-
Where they get such wisdom and ability to speak the way they do.
-
Oh, they used to walk with Jesus.
-
And Jesus walked in the supernatural.
-
So if the early Christians could do it, that means you and I can do it as well.
-
They walked according to the living word who was Jesus.
-
We walk according to the written word who is Jesus.
-
And so if we're going to be supernatural people, we have to refuse normal.
-
I refuse to be normal.
-
You gotta refuse normal in your life.
-
Look at 1 Corinthians 3 3.
-
It says, For you are still fleshly, for since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly and are you not walking like ordinary people?
-
Ordinary people.
-
But we are humans with a supernatural touch of God upon our life.
-
Refuse to be normal.
-
We have two lineages now that we're believers.
-
Two lineages.
-
Not two natures.
-
Some people say no, we have two natures.
-
That's why one day I'm good with God.
-
And one day I sin.
-
Because I have two natures.
-
No, we only have one nature.
-
We have the nature of God.
-
But we have two lineages.
-
But we're a new class of people when we come to Jesus.
-
And we're designed to live a higher life.
-
Our lineage.
-
And our human parents carry a lot of good.
-
But they carry a lot of bad, good and bad baggage.
-
But when you come to Jesus, he takes away the bad baggage.
-
And he says, that doesn't belong to you anymore.
-
And part of our fight until we see Jesus is to make sure we're not picking up that bad bad baggage.
-
Don't look back, leave it in the past.
-
That's my old lineage.
-
I have a new lineage now.
-
Refuse to live under your old lineage.
-
Choose the good and spit out the bad.
-
Choose to be supernatural.
-
Choose to be extraordinary.
-
To stand out, to be distinguished among the rest.
-
When you come to the Lord, you have a new normal.
-
We have a new normal that we're living now in Christ.
-
Remember when COVID hit a few years back?
-
That's when that term came out, new normal.
-
The new normal brought a lot of changes.
-
Among them all all these delivery services that bring food to your house.
-
And now it's normal.
-
To call somebody to bring you food or bring you groceries.
-
New technology came out.
-
You and I, when we came to Jesus, we entered a new normal.
-
Which is abnormal for the world.
-
Refuse defeat in your life.
-
Defeat is not the final answer in your life.
-
Refuse to yield or to give in to the storms of life.
-
When we say we're people of the supernatural, it doesn't mean that storms won't come.
-
But you don't have to endure those storms.
-
If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I'm giving you today, and you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail.
-
But in the new covenant we have the word of God.
-
As believers, not in ourselves, not in our strength, not in nosotros, no in our fuerza.
-
But because we are in Christ.
-
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
-
And then he says, And forget not all of his benefits.
-
The best way not to forget is to bless the Lord.
-
Put your attention on the Lord who loves you, who's provided everything.
-
And then you can walk in the benefits that He's provided.
-
What did we just read?
-
Ephesians 1 3.
-
Ephesians 1 3.
-
Refuse to live beneath.
-
Refuse to live the standard that people set before you, the world.
-
The world has standards.
-
But God has standards.
-
The standards of the world are what?
-
Oh, they say when you turn 50.
-
It's all downhill from there.
-
Oh, when you get in your 30s, you don't have the same strength you used to have.
-
At 40, your body begins to creak, noises come out.
-
You say, What was that?
-
All I did was stand up.
-
And my knee started making noise.
-
I sneezed.
-
And my shoulder went out.
-
Those are the standards of the world.
-
Oh, but he's blessed us with all spiritual blessings.
-
Refuse the standard of the world.
-
The standard of the world is like, ooh, you're gonna get married.
-
You know that 50% of marriages are divorced.
-
Oh, really?
-
And we buy into that.
-
According to the standard of the world.
-
Which is a mentality of a victim.
-
Always looking for the worst of things.
-
But we have to shift and change into a mentality of a victor, that's who we are.
-
More than conquerors in Christ Jesus.
-
Somebody said, Well, I said all that and did all that, and my wife still left.
-
Not mine.
-
And the scripture says if they choose to leave, let them go.
-
See you later.
-
But I am more than a conqueror.
-
No matter what happens in my life.
-
I live according to the standard of heaven.
-
And he turns everything for my good.
-
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
-
And forget not all his benefits.
-
And so we can walk in the goodness of God.
-
If we walk according to his standards, if we walk according to the standards of the world, we're going to reap what they reap.
-
We want to walk according to the Word of God, His standards.
-
There's always a little caveat, what's another word for caveat?
-
Exception to the rule.
-
You and I have greater control of our own lives.
-
Than the will of another person.
-
And so when we say we walk in the supernatural and we're more than conquerors, that means that whatever people do who are around us don't affect who we are and what we do.
-
And how we live.
-
We're called to live our life.
-
A life that is supernatural.
-
No matter what people do.
-
The Apostle Paul, probably the greatest of all time of the New Testament, in his writing to the churches a couple of times, but one in particular loving this present world more.
-
So his partner that was preaching with him that was traveling as a missionary with him.
-
He said, He's gone, he left me.
-
He chose the world over the Lord.
-
He said, What am I gonna do?
-
Maybe I'll go find Demas at the bar and hang out with him.
-
He didn't give up.
-
He kept on going.
-
He says, I don't know about Demas, but I'm going to finish my course.
-
You see, we can't change the will of people around us.
-
But we keep finishing our course.
-
We keep walking with the Lord.
-
Now we can pray for people.
-
That God would impact their life and change them and bring them to a place of decision.
-
But there's a lot of variables involved.
-
You're praying for them according to what you want.
-
But every weekend your son is out there saying, Oh, I love this alcohol.
-
You can't change his will.
-
And you can allow God into his life through prayer.
-
But because it's somebody else's will, it could take longer than if it was your will.
-
Every human being has to make their own choice.
-
So don't get discouraged about what people do and don't do.
-
You keep running your race.
-
And let God take care of the rest.
-
But I'm not going to stop running.
-
Because you stopped running.
-
We went to watch our grandchildren yesterday.
-
They run cross-country.
-
And these cross-country runs, I think it seemed like there was at least 50 in each of the races.
-
But everybody was at a different place.
-
But just because I'm winning in the head of this guy, I'm not gonna slow down so he can catch up with me.
-
No, you keep running your race.
-
That's what I appreciated about my grandchildren yesterday.
-
I was right there at the finish line to watch him come in.
-
And they finished strong.
-
They finished strong.
-
A couple other ones fell.
-
They literally fell at the finish line.
-
They had them on the tables giving them stuff to get them back going.
-
I don't know what was going on.
-
But our children finished strong.
-
That's what God wants in our lives.
-
You may not finish first, but finish strong.
-
Because every race is different.
-
If you finish strong, you finished first in the eyes of God.
-
Because you finished your course, you ran your race.
-
Don't worry about other people, worry about you.
-
Jesus was with the disciples toward the end of his ministry.
-
It was John and Peter.
-
And he started talking to Peter, and he said, Peter, kind of like in a parable, he said, This is how you're gonna die, this is gonna be the end of your life.
-
And then John said, Well, what about me?
-
And Jesus said, Don't worry about him.
-
Or don't worry about you, worry about Rewind.
-
Oh yeah, yeah.
-
Don't worry about him, worry about yourself.
-
It's all about our race with the Lord.
-
You see, as we run our race, we encourage other people to come on board.
-
When we look at the supernatural life, there's one thing that takes us over the top.
-
It's the spirit of faith.
-
We can never get away from the spirit of faith.
-
Watch this over in Hebrews 11 33.
-
And we're coming in for a landing.
-
These are stories of old testament people.
-
That we call the heroes of faith.
-
And it says who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, and stopped the mouths of lions.
-
In other words, the spirit of faith rules and reigns here on earth.
-
They quenched the violence of fire.
-
In other words, they weren't killed when they were thrown in the fire.
-
They escaped the edge of the sword.
-
In weakness they were made strong.
-
They waxed valiant in fight.
-
And they turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
-
They were winning battles, they were winning wars.
-
Look at verse 39.
-
And all of these having obtained a good report through faith.
-
If we're going to establish a good report and walk in the supernatural, it's going to be through faith.
-
They obtained a good report through faith and received not the promise.
-
Waiting for you and I.
-
Keep reading that chapter when you get home.
-
We're finishing their course.
-
Now the physical side of life, our natural life.
-
It has limitations.
-
But our spiritual side through faith we can access the supernatural.
-
And there are no boundaries in the supernatural.
-
There are no limits in the supernatural.
-
So I tell you to lean on your spiritual side.
-
When your physical genes run out of strength, lean on your spiritual genes.
-
In Christ.
-
By reading, studying, meditating, studying, meditating through prayer and faith.
-
We're developing the strength of the Word in our lives.
-
But he always went over the limits of the physical and the natural.
-
And while they were praying, an angel showed up to the prison cell of Peter.
-
We walk in the supernatural when we pray.
-
Peter demonstrated supernatural power.
-
Over death.
-
He prayed for a lady from the dead.
-
Supernatural power over disease.
-
Remember the lame man, he picked him up.
-
And the man began to walk.
-
He had never walked.
-
And so it wasn't just Jesus, it was the early Christians.
-
Paul, the apostle Paul, what did he do?
-
One day they beat him so bad.
-
They dragged him out of the end out of the city.
-
And they left him there, they thought he was dead.
-
And the disciples gathered around Paul.
-
Watch this.
-
And they were looking at his dead body.
-
And suddenly they didn't pray for Paul.
-
Suddenly he gets up.
-
And the Bible says they got up and went to another city and began to preach.
-
Paul rose himself up from the dead.
-
How do we know it was Paul?
-
Because Paul said, I am not, I'm not, I'm in between.
-
I don't know whether to go or not go.
-
I don't know whether to die or live.
-
And he was deciding when shall I go.
-
And when they dragged him out to the end of the city, they left him for dead.
-
Paul said, I'm not ready, and he got up.
-
It's hard to understand these things sometimes.
-
It's hard, it's difficult to understand these things a bit.
-
But that's what it means to walk in the supernatural.
-
I don't know about you.
-
But I'm not leaving till I'm ready to leave.
-
God doesn't have an appointment date for Jesse Soto.
-
Well, it must have been his time.
-
No.
-
No.
-
I determine the time.
-
He has given us authority to determine that.
-
He said with long life I'm going to satisfy you.
-
That means when I'm satisfied, and long life is when I'm leaving.
-
And I'm not ready and I'm getting up.
-
I'm getting up.
-
Paul said, now I'm ready.
-
Stephen said.
-
Receive my spirit.
-
You know what Stephen could have said?
-
He could have said, I'm not ready.
-
As he was being stoned, just like Paul was.
-
Oh, but he caught a glimpse of Jesus.
-
The Bible says he saw Jesus.
-
Standing at the right hand of God.
-
And he said, Lord, I'm ready, receive my spirit.
-
The Bible says, Jesus.
-
When he was on the cross, he said, Father, receive my spirit.
-
Now it's time.
-
They tried to kill him times before.
-
They said, no, no, it's not time.
-
But when it was time, he said, Lord, receive my spirit.
-
Paul saw supernatural interventions.
-
Remember, he was in a ship one day.
-
And that ship broke apart.
-
He was a prisoner on the ship.
-
And all that was left of the ship in the storm.
-
Were pieces of wood.
-
But Paul stood up as everything was falling apart around him.
-
And he said, Listen, nobody on this ship is dying.
-
And they all got a piece of board and made it to land.
-
And the devil was trying to kill him in the sea.
-
But he got to the island.
-
And they were gathered there.
-
And a snake took hold of Paul's arm.
-
The Bible says it was a venomous, poisonous snake.
-
The devil said, I didn't get you in the ship, but I'm going to get you with a snake.
-
Listen to how the supernatural world operates.
-
He took that snake.
-
And he threw it in the fire.
-
And all of the people on the island were watching.
-
They were waiting for him to collapse and die from the snake bite.
-
And he kept on preaching.
-
He walked in the supernatural.
-
Take God's word so that you can walk in the supernatural.
