  1. Good morning, and thank you for beginning your day with us.

  2. This past Sunday we looked at Philippians 2, verses 1 through 2, and in that sermon, I couldn't help but think of what Paul says in Ephesians chapter 4, verses 1 through 3.

    Philippians 2:1–2 Ephesians 4:1–3

  3. He says, I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

  4. You see, the unity that we have is something that we don't create.

  5. It's not something that we work to create, but it's something that's given to us by the Holy Spirit.

  6. But we are called to maintain it.

  7. And I think it's a cool connection here in Philippians 2.2, whenever Paul says that we should be of the same mind and we should have the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

  8. Sin makes it hard for us to maintain this unity.

  9. Sometimes we get angry with one another.

  10. Sometimes we have envy that creeps in.

  11. Sometimes we have our own things that we're trying to work through that we don't even know how to identify.

  12. But at the root of it is sin.

  13. And so I would encourage you this morning to evaluate your own life and see if there's any area in which you are not abiding in Christ, if there's any sin that's hidden in the dark that's keeping you from being able to maintain the unity that we have as brothers and as sisters in Christ.

  14. And then my next encouragement is let's strive to maintain this unity in all things.

  15. We have a world that is watching us, and we are supposed to represent Christ.

  16. And one of the ways that we do this is to maintain the unity that has been given to us.

  17. That's all that I have for this morning.

  18. I hope that it was encouraging to you.

  19. Let's strive to magnify Christ and share the gospel in our homes, the Wimberley Valley, and beyond.

  20. Peace.
