  1. Usually I'm up there with the students eating breakfast, but I'm down here with you.

  2. That's okay.

  3. We we get so many students because we bribed them with pancakes, okay?

  4. I'm gonna jump right into our passage this morning.

  5. Uh if you want to go to Luke chapter 10.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  6. Luke chapter 10.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  7. One to four.

  8. We're gonna read.

  9. We've been going through uh Luke chapter 10 with Pastor Brody.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  10. How many of you enjoyed the uh the series so far, The Mindset of Ministry?

  11. Um, and one thing I want to say before we begin is, and I believe that Pastor Brody has has really solidified this for what we've been teaching about, but uh nudge your neighbor, nudge your neighbor right now and say you're a minister.

  12. Nudge your other neighbor on the other side, say your minister.

  13. And now some of you are like, I don't I don't feel like a minister, but uh the truth is if you are if you've been you've been called, if you're a Christian, you have been called to uh to be a minister of some degree, maybe not to the same capacity as your neighbor, but you are a minister, and and that's what God calls us to do.

  14. He calls us to first, like if you're if you're wondering what your calling in life is, your first and foremost calling is to give glory to God and to bring glory in all that you do, and your second is to to to as you walk out giving glory to God in everything you do through your work, through your through your jobs, to your friendships, to your relationships.

  15. That's our ultimate calling is to give glory to him.

  16. And we we first minister to God and then we minister to other people, right?

  17. Amen.

  18. So that's what we're gonna be talking about uh in this next, I believe a next month or two, but we're in Luke chapter 10, and we're going from verse 4, or sorry, we're gonna go from verse 1 to 4, and then we're gonna break down verses 3 and 4.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  19. So it says this it says the Lord now chose 72 other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places uh he planned to visit.

  20. So he sends them in his stead.

  21. He sends them as like ambassadors of him, and that's what we're called to do.

  22. We are sent as ambassadors of Christ, Paul talks about.

  23. And so he says, These are the instructions uh to them.

  24. He says, The harvest is great, but the workers are few, so pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest.

  25. Ask him to send more workers to the field.

  26. Last week we talked about the prayer and to pray and the importance of prayer.

  27. Um, but this morning we're gonna talk about verse three to four.

  28. It says this it says, Now go and remember that I am sending you.

  29. Remember that I am sending you.

  30. He says, To go out as lambs among wolves.

  31. Then verse four, this is the scary verse.

  32. He says, Don't take any money with you, nor a traveler's bag, nor an extra pair of sandals, and do not stop to greet anyone on the road.

  33. We're gonna break this down this morning.

  34. So I'm just gonna pray.

  35. If you just pray with me, Father God, I thank you so much for this morning.

  36. I thank you for this time that we had today, just to as one, just glorify your name.

  37. God, we as we as Pastor Brian said, we exalt your name.

  38. We exalt your name, we lift your name above all in our life.

  39. God, you are Lord of all, and we recognize you today.

  40. We recognize that position in our life, Father.

  41. We just give you all the glory, all the praise.

  42. Help us to learn from you today.

  43. Speak to us this morning.

  44. In Jesus' mighty name, someone agrees, say, Amen.

  45. Amen.

  46. Hey, thank you for the worship team.

  47. You guys are awesome.

  48. Give it up for the worship team real quick.

  49. Don't go too far.

  50. Uh, but I want to ask a question to begin.

  51. And maybe this is like maybe this is pretty outdated because we've done a lot of personality tests as a team.

  52. But how many of you remember like type A and type B?

  53. How many of you would say you're a you're a type A person?

  54. Type A person.

  55. Who who doesn't know what a type A or a type B?

  56. Just put your hands up.

  57. Okay, I'll explain it.

  58. So a type A person uh is someone who, and all the people that are type A are gonna start like nodding their head immediately.

  59. You're organized, you're planned, you're detail-oriented, you like structure, right?

  60. You like to know what's uh ahead of time, right?

  61. And you're the person that's like Santa Claus, you have a list and you check it twice, right?

  62. You're that's a type A person.

  63. And now uh I always I laugh because I look over at Caleb, and Caleb is not a type A person.

  64. Uh he is one of these people, he's he's very relaxed.

  65. If you've ever met Caleb, you would understand he is a relaxed person, he's spontaneous, right?

  66. He likes to do the spontaneous things, he likes to keep his uh his uh schedule flexible, right?

  67. Figure things out as we go.

  68. It's like when we get there, we'll figure it out.

  69. I think I've actually heard you say that before one time.

  70. It's perfect that you're standing here.

  71. You helped my analogy.

  72. But uh, so you know what type A and type, who's my type A people?

  73. Who's my type A people?

  74. Planned, you're like you you have an orientation of what's going on.

  75. You like to to plan ahead.

  76. Any type B?

  77. Any type B?

  78. Yes, my spontaneous people, right?

  79. You just like to you like to just throw it to the wind and be like, all right, let's just see what happens.

  80. Let's just see what happens.

  81. You don't like to pack for things, right?

  82. Like you'll pack like the minimal things.

  83. You'll just you go on a trip, you'll buy it when you get there, right?

  84. I know me and Pastor Brody are going on a trip, and I'm I thank God for him because he's very type A.

  85. He likes to, he plans things out.

  86. But uh, and I I would say for me, it's it's funny, you know, it's funny that that God often brings those two types of different people together, either in like friendships uh or as like workmates or as like they marry each other.

  87. And I would say for me and Rebecca, like she's very type A.

  88. She's one, she's like a pure type A person.

  89. And I would say, I would say that, I mean, maybe, maybe earlier on in life, I was more of like a pure type B person.

  90. But now I say as as I've matured and you know, I've I you know I've got married to Rebecca, I've kind of dipped my toes in type A.

  91. I kind of like to have a little bit of structure.

  92. Also, my job requires it of me.

  93. And if I'm not type A, it's gonna be all chaos, right?

  94. And uh so I would say that I've kind of like I've swung a little bit into a type A person.

  95. It's always funny how God brings those two people together.

  96. But uh there's there's you know, one thing that always happens too, like it becomes really evident when you travel together, right?

  97. It becomes very evident when you travel together because there's there's always kind of like this this idea that that one's gonna be like whenever I travel with Rebecca, I don't rem I don't remember anything.

  98. I don't I don't think about anything.

  99. It's like she's got it all on a list.

  100. But but the thing that brings you know both people anxiety is when you forget something really important, right?

  101. When you when you walk up to the the till you're going on an airplane and you're and you're like tapping, like, oh no, like my wallet, or or you forget your passport.

  102. And it's like it doesn't matter if you're type A or type B, you're going to get anxiety in this situation.

  103. You might handle it differently.

  104. Like the type B person's gonna figure it out, like, okay, what do we like we can do something about this?

  105. We can just kind of like, I don't know, we can call my mom, we'll get a picture of my.

  106. I remember having this happen to me when I I was literally coming back from uh Smithers, and I had gotten on a plane to get to Smithers, but on the way back I realized my my ID was expired.

  107. And so I get up to the till and I'm like, I go get my my ticket, they're like, Well, we can't put you on the plane, and I start panicking, right?

  108. Like it's like it doesn't matter what type of personality you are, you will panic in those moments.

  109. And I think, again, it's kind of like that universal feeling.

  110. No one enjoys that, but I think we recover differently.

  111. And I the the point of this is when there is a lack of security, it's uncomfortable regardless of who you are, right?

  112. When there's a lack of security in your life, it's it's uncomfortable regardless of who you are.

  113. And I think uh for us, we we all carry things.

  114. It doesn't matter if you're a type A, type B, we all carry things with us to help us have security, right?

  115. Like our wallet, our keys.

  116. We don't leave home with without certain things.

  117. We put our shoes on, most of us, right?

  118. Like, like we we like to have things with us to help us feel secure.

  119. We like the idea of feeling comfortable.

  120. We like the idea of of having kind of like a control uh degree on our life, right?

  121. We like to we like to have an idea of what the next step is.

  122. When we look at the disciples in this passage of Luke chapter 10, we see like sheer discomfort come up come over them uh uh after what Jesus has said to them.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  123. And if we look back to uh Luke chapter 10, we look at what he says to them, and my first point of this of this passage is this is expect opposition.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  124. Expect opposition.

  125. Say that with me, expect opposition.

  126. Because the first thing that Jesus says, he's he gives instructions, he's like, I am sending you as lambs among wolves, as lambs among wolves.

  127. And so we expect opposition.

  128. And I think the first thought that I have on this is it's easy to see, like we look at our world, and it's really easy to see the hostility, right?

  129. And not even just towards like Christianity, but it's it's like this hostility towards anything that has a different thought than what would be considered the majority, right?

  130. We we look out in the world, we it doesn't take us long to see the hostility.

  131. Uh and Jesus says this He says, There are wolves, there is going to be wolves.

  132. He he actually promises us opposition in our life, he promises us trouble.

  133. It's uh John 16, 33 says, I have told you these things so that in me you have peace.

  134. Because in this world you will have trouble.

  135. Right?

  136. So it's like he's promising us that there is going to be opposition.

  137. He says, Take heart, because I have overcome the world.

  138. Jesus says this.

  139. He says, He says, People will literally hate you because of my name.

  140. People will hate you.

  141. So Jesus is promising us opposition.

  142. He's not promising us butterflies and rainbows and happiness and and like it's all gonna be good as soon as you become a Christian.

  143. No, he actually promises us opposition, he promises us trouble.

  144. But he says this: he says, through it all, have peace, because you remain in me.

  145. In me have peace.

  146. So Jesus does not say, you know, there was a commentator that kind of brought this up.

  147. He doesn't say, like, you know, Jesus says, okay, well, you're a lamb and there's wolves, and it's like, good luck.

  148. Like, you know what I mean?

  149. Like, like, I hope you can run.

  150. Like, I hope you're a really fast sheep, okay?

  151. Like, I I you know, you're going into this really hostile territory, like, cross your fingers, buddy.

  152. Like, let's hope you don't die.

  153. You know, some of you might die, right?

  154. But it's, you know, it's it's it's like he's not just rolling the dice for us.

  155. And I always think about this too, like, why sheep?

  156. Like, why does why do we have to be sheep?

  157. They're there's like I don't want to, I don't want to be mean to sheep, but like, if if there's any farmers here, you kind of understand, like, sheep are not the most intelligent animal on the planet, right?

  158. Like, they're they're they're pretty, like, I want to say this nicely, but they're pretty dumb.

  159. Like, they don't they don't listen very well.

  160. Like they they need leading, they need a leader.

  161. They need like uh like like my dog is a sheepdog.

  162. He he doesn't look it all the time, but but in his like in his blood, like he's a sheepdog.

  163. They they need something to to drive them towards things, they don't do things well on their own.

  164. And it's like, why sheep?

  165. You know, God, you could have picked any other animal.

  166. Like, I would have been fine, and I don't like cats, but I would have been fine with like like cats going into the wood.

  167. You know, it doesn't really make sense, but like at least they can survive on their own a little bit.

  168. But a sheep is like, it's so vulnerable.

  169. But that was the point, right?

  170. That was the point that that you would go into this place not by your own charisma, but not by your own power, not by your own skill, not by your own talent, but by his power.

  171. Right?

  172. It's like you go in like a sheep and you're kind of like, you know, God, I am useless.

  173. You know, but but realizing like, hey, okay, who has sent you?

  174. Who has sent you?

  175. And that commentator he's he's talking about like it's not to focus on the opposition.

  176. Don't focus on the idea that that you are a lamb going into the wolf's den.

  177. But it's like, but it's like Jesus said, I am sending you.

  178. And we we we come back to the whole person, the person that that is doing the sending.

  179. Who has sent you?

  180. That's the most important thing because that's where we can go into this place of confidence.

  181. And it's Jesus literally says, You will have peace if you remain in me.

  182. There's gonna be trouble, there's gonna be opposition, there's gonna be there's gonna be problems that are gonna come in your way.

  183. There's gonna be a mountain, there's gonna be obstacles, but but don't focus on those things.

  184. Focus on simply who sent you, who has sent you.

  185. Just had to be sheep, right?

  186. Jesus says, I am sending you.

  187. So we can have confidence not in my ability, we don't have confidence in our charisma, our talent, our skills, our willpower.

  188. Because at the end of the day, those things just crumble away.

  189. But it's really where we have actual dependence on him.

  190. I was thinking about this, uh, this idea, and I think there's kind of like an obsession with wanting to see revival, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

  191. Like, I think I think we want to see revival, right, church?

  192. Like, we want to see God move in our lifetime.

  193. Maybe, maybe some of you have seen God move in your lifetime, but I want to see God move in these amazing ways.

  194. And I don't think there's anything bad or wrong with wanting to see revival, but I think I think revival is not gonna come from something that's impressive.

  195. I think we we kind of tend to think like we see like a megachurch or we see like this like big movement happening somewhere, and we're like, wow, that's so cool.

  196. Like they've got it all together.

  197. That's where revival's gonna come.

  198. But I think that revival is actually gonna come from the unassuming nobody, the sheep.

  199. The sheep that's just following God daily, faithfully, not on their own merit, not on their own charisma, not on their own strength, not on their own willpower, not on their own talents, but simply going, God, I need you.

  200. And God, you're sending me.

  201. So, God, I'll go.

  202. Even though it doesn't look like I'm gonna get very far.

  203. Right?

  204. But that's not revival's not gonna come from something impressive.

  205. It's not gonna come from this self-confidence, like, here's five steps to have revival in your church.

  206. Like that it's not gonna come from that place.

  207. It's not gonna come from that place.

  208. It's become it comes from the place of where people understand I am a sheep and God has sent me.

  209. God has sent me.

  210. And I'll be honest, I I look at verses like this and it kind of gives me anxiety.

  211. Because I would say that, you know, for me, like I'm just I'm just I just look for me.

  212. I'm not gonna put anything on you.

  213. Uh, for me, I would say I'm not like an evangelistic person.

  214. I would say that my strong point is not evangelism.

  215. I remember, uh, and Jamin probably remembers this too.

  216. I remember when we were in, we were youth leaders and Sean Lalonde was our youth pastor, and he is like, he is an evangelist.

  217. Like he was like, get me out on the street, like sell my house, someone like he was like one of those people that would just, he would, he was a type B person, okay?

  218. And and he would bother a lot of people because it's just like we'll just figure it out when we get there.

  219. Like, and I love Sean for it.

  220. And and I remember I the the one thing I I could not stand is when he would send us out and he would send us out to like the schools uh with these like invite cards.

  221. I don't know if you remember that, or he would do all these like exterior, like outside on the street, like these like videos with people and interviews, and I could not stand it.

  222. It made me so uncomfortable.

  223. And I and I think about this verse, and it makes me more uncomfortable.

  224. But here's what I'll say: here's what I'll say that not everyone is called to be an evangelist.

  225. Okay, and all the people that aren't evangelists are like, oh thank God.

  226. Like we but here's what we are responsible for.

  227. And you know, maybe maybe you're not we're not called to be the same person, right?

  228. Like like Paul talks about how we're different parts of the body.

  229. Like we're not called to have a body with like ten toes.

  230. That would be weird, right?

  231. Unless you have ten toes, I'm so sorry.

  232. Um, but we're not called to be the same body part, right?

  233. We're on one foot, all right?

  234. All right.

  235. Getting some chirps over there.

  236. I understand, right?

  237. We're not all called to have two left arms, right?

  238. We're not we're not called to be the part of this, like a piece of the same body, right?

  239. Like we're we're different parts, and so not all of us are called to evangelism, but what we are called to is to represent Jesus, to represent Christ.

  240. And there's there's another thing we're responsible for, it's in 1 Peter 3 15.

  241. Uh and it says, But in your hearts honor Jesus Christ as holy and always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks for the reason of the hope that is in you.

  242. It says, Do it with gentleness and respect, like a lamp.

  243. Right?

  244. So I wouldn't say there's a there was a responsibility on every single Christian in this room to like quit your job, sell your house, and like go do street ministry.

  245. Some of you are like, I want to do that, right?

  246. Like, God bless you, okay?

  247. I I'm not that person.

  248. But there is a responsibility for us to share the hope that lives in us.

  249. And that comes from building friendships and bridges with the people around us in whatever state you're in and whatever place you're in.

  250. Right?

  251. To be to be an ambassador of Christ, to be sent from as as as Christ's ambassadors, is that that just means wherever you are, you're representing Christ enough so that that that I'll come up to Brian and be like, why are you so happy all the time?

  252. Like, why are like why are you in such a good mood?

  253. Like we have a really crappy job.

  254. Like, like we have to deal with a lot of things.

  255. You know what I mean?

  256. Like we have to do like we have to shut our mouth a lot.

  257. Like, why are you so happy, Brian?

  258. Brian, we're like, oh let me tell you.

  259. Right?

  260. But in any any space that you're in, that's what we're called to do.

  261. It's not just like we're called to do ministry on Sunday.

  262. This is just where we get equipped.

  263. Right?

  264. This is just where we get like challenged and and and we we rub shoulders with people and we say, How are you doing?

  265. We pray with each other, we glorify God together, and we get amped up for the week so that we can go and minister.

  266. Right?

  267. Because if if you're a minister, then that's where we're called to be, is out there.

  268. And it's not it's not like being the street preacher.

  269. If that's what you're called to do, then do that.

  270. But it's wherever God has led you to, and the calling of God on your life is to glorify Him and be an ambassador of Him and represent Him.

  271. And then when someone comes and asks you, then you share.

  272. That's your responsibility.

  273. A little bit quiet in here.

  274. It's okay.

  275. 2 Corinthians 5 20.

  276. That's what that's where Paul calls us to be ambassadors of Christ.

  277. So number one is expect opposition.

  278. Number two is this don't get distracted.

  279. Someone say, Don't get distracted.

  280. Jesus says to him, uh, to the 72, don't greet anybody on the road.

  281. Now, now at first glance, it's like you're telling people to just be rude?

  282. Like, like just don't talk to anybody.

  283. Like, don't, don't, don't make time for anybody on the road.

  284. Like, we could easily just say, like, God, like, what?

  285. What are you what are you talking about?

  286. But it's not about being rude.

  287. It's about, it's everything to do with the urgency of the mission.

  288. Right?

  289. It's it's everything to do with the urgency of the mission that Jesus is sending him.

  290. Not to be rude to people, right?

  291. Again, so we look at culturally, culturally, uh, in in this uh time, like a greeting would take a long, long, long time.

  292. Right?

  293. Like they didn't have cell phones to like to talk before or emails to talk before.

  294. They would they would be like talking and greeting each other, asking questions, like, how's the family?

  295. Haven't seen you in seven years.

  296. You know, like it's like this like long, like drawn-out thing.

  297. And basically what what God is saying, and Jesus is saying to the disciples and the 72 is like, hey, there's a mission that's way more urgent than just like this kind of useless talk.

  298. Okay, so culturally that's what it that means.

  299. Um, and and and he's it's not to be rude to people, no, take time, but it's simply this: don't get distracted from the mission.

  300. Don't get distracted from the mission.

  301. We see something similar in 2 Kings 4 29.

  302. Elisha he he prophesies over this woman.

  303. See, uh, this woman had a really hard time having kids, and he prophesies over this woman uh to have a son.

  304. She has a son, and then the son dies.

  305. Like really tragic.

  306. And she's desperate.

  307. And so Elisha sends his servant.

  308. To heal the boy.

  309. And it says in uh 2 Kings 4 29, Elisha says to Gehazi, Tuck in your cloak, into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run.

  310. Then he says, Don't greet anyone you meet.

  311. If anyone greets you, don't talk to them.

  312. Lay my staff on the boy's face, and he will be healed.

  313. And so it's this idea of urgency.

  314. Again, it's like this dude's just like, he's talking to his clothing, he's got the staff, he's running, and it's like, hey, Peter, hey, what are you doing?

  315. No, I can't talk.

  316. Like, I got something to do.

  317. And it's like it's not about being rude, but it's again, it's just like it's honing in this idea of there's a mission that's urgent.

  318. And it doesn't need to be distracted from.

  319. I think the danger for Christians is not to reject the mission, but it's to be distracted from it.

  320. The danger for us is not to reject the mission because if we're rejecting the mission, there's something going on there.

  321. Um but it's it's not as if we're rejecting the mission, but it's to be distracted from the mission, what God has called us to do.

  322. Again, we can look at our life and we can we can see the busyness of life is relentless.

  323. Right?

  324. It's like when we we clear our schedule of one thing, another thing comes along.

  325. Right?

  326. And we can fill up our time very, very, very, very quickly throughout this week.

  327. We all have things going on.

  328. We all have like those with kids, they understand like the schedules, especially in the school season, right?

  329. You have like kids in school, and they got their sport schedules, and they've got their homework and you've got work, and you're trying to like this.

  330. Everything wants to take our time.

  331. Everything wants our attention.

  332. Everything.

  333. But again, the danger is not to reject the mission, but to be distracted from it.

  334. Number three, I'm gonna invite the worship team up.

  335. Travel light.

  336. Travel light.

  337. Jesus says to them, he says, Do not take a purse, a bag, or sandals.

  338. And all the type A people got really uncomfortable in the room.

  339. What do you mean?

  340. Like, what do you mean I'm not supposed to take my money with me?

  341. What do you mean I'm not supposed to try like pack anything?

  342. What do you mean I'm not supposed to prepare?

  343. Now, again, let's be careful not to like isolate.

  344. We could easily isolate this scripture and just be like, you know what, this is what ministries look like.

  345. We're supposed to sell everything, we're not supposed to bring our stuff with us, like leave our leave our wallet at home, like give our house, like that.

  346. That's what we could easily kind of isolate this scripture to be.

  347. Like, this is what ministry looks like.

  348. God says just like drop everything and like don't be prepared.

  349. You know, it's like the idea of like uh it kind of it's kind of like a scary, maybe foolish idea, because again, like Jesus is not telling us to like never prepare.

  350. Okay?

  351. Jesus is not telling us like like don't like if you're going out for coffee with somebody and and you feel like you're supposed to pay for coffee, but you're like, you know what?

  352. That scripture said, Don't bring your wallet, so I'm just gonna pro I'm just gonna like leave my wallet at home.

  353. That'd be so awkward, right?

  354. Like, especially if it was like the first time meeting someone, you go to pay and you're like, Well, God, I guess you gotta pay for my coffee.

  355. That's not what he's saying, okay?

  356. It's it's ridiculous.

  357. This is not what he's saying, because again, okay, so let's look forward.

  358. I would I just want to bring some little bit of context to this because we look forward to Luke 22, 35.

  359. Jesus says the exact opposite to his disciples.

  360. It's kind of funny.

  361. Jesus says to them, He says, When I sent you without purse, bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?

  362. And they're like, Well, no, nothing.

  363. We lacked nothing.

  364. And then he says to them, but now if you have a purse, take it, also a bag, and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

  365. So it's like kind of two conflicting ideas.

  366. But the principle of this is not one or the other.

  367. Okay?

  368. The principle is not be type A and be prepared and sell other things, make sure you have a sword and like make sure you can defend yourself.

  369. Like, I've got to be prepared for what's coming.

  370. Or to be type B where it's just like, I'm just gonna go and hopefully someone pays for my plane ticket.

  371. Like, that's not the principle, it's not one or the other.

  372. I think what what is happening here, we look at it literally, and then we'll kind of zoom out a little bit.

  373. He's literally just telling them, hey, don't pack the normal provisions that you would depend on normally.

  374. Leave behind the things that would usually provide you security because here's what I want to do.

  375. He says, I want you to depend on me.

  376. Simply depend on me.

  377. And the question is, like, do I actually trust God?

  378. Do I trust Him?

  379. I think some other another question we should ask is according to this kind of passage is like, what are we carrying because we don't trust God enough to go without it?

  380. What am I carrying because I don't trust God enough to go without it?

  381. And you could be in one of the two camps.

  382. Because I love I love that Luke 22 kind of brings a little bit of clarity to it, because you might be in camp A, where it's like God wants to prepare you for something.

  383. God's prepping you for something.

  384. He's saying to you, hey, I want to put things on you.

  385. I want you to start to build, I want you to start to pray into this, I want you to start to prepare for what I have for you.

  386. Sell your cloak to buy a sword.

  387. Right?

  388. That's what he's kind of telling them.

  389. It's like, hey, there's a there's a there's a season of preparation, or there's a season of what is camp be, where he's saying, hey, like, what do I need to leave behind?

  390. What do I need to leave behind?

  391. What have I been stuffing my pockets with what so I feel secure because I don't trust him that he's actually gonna come through for me?

  392. And maybe you're in a season where you're like, I've been holding on to things and I've been I've been trusting my own preparation, my own self and what I have around me in, my own charisma, my own skills.

  393. Maybe you're in a place where you're like, I don't feel like I trust God because I've been putting all these things in place.

  394. Whatever camp you're in, that's what that's what he's asking.

  395. He's he's trying to like we might be in a different season than than others.

  396. Or it's like God's asking me to to leave some things behind.

  397. God's asking me to to sever some things out of my life.

  398. Not because those things are bad, maybe because I just I find security in them.

  399. Or maybe you're in a place where God's putting weight on your shoulders and he's preparing you for something, and he wants to actually have you build and prepare.

  400. Whatever that is, the question is this if God has sent you, is that enough?

  401. If God has sent you, is that enough?

  402. I'm gonna pray for us this morning.

  403. And I just want to talk about those two camps one more time.

  404. And again, it's it's whatever season you're in.

  405. I believe there's seasons of life that we we go through and we're all in different places.

  406. But maybe for you this morning, you're like, man, I know that God has sent me, but I have a hard time trusting him.

  407. I know that God has sent me, but you and maybe you're asking the question, like, am I am I doubting him in these places?

  408. Is is he asking you to leave something behind?

  409. Is he asking you to to start disconnecting certain things in your life?

  410. Is he asking for you to simply learn how to depend on him?

  411. Or is the opposite where where you feel like God's been preparing you for something?

  412. God's asking you to prepare, God's asking you to build, God's asking you to start to pray into something, and to start to rally next to other people, and to share a vision.

  413. Whatever season you're in, I just want to pray for us and we're just gonna respond in worship this morning.

  414. So would you just stand with me?

  415. It's just a simple time of prayer, again, whatever, whatever place you're in, just to give that up to God or to to even just like maybe you need prayer this morning.

  416. But whatever that is, and I think a lot of us might be in Camp B, where it's like, I I tend to just have these things in my life as security, like like a backup plan unless it in case it doesn't work.

  417. But I feel I feel like God's calling us out of that to a place where it's like, yeah, okay, I'm gonna leave my wallet at home, maybe not literally.

  418. Or I'm gonna leave this behind.

  419. I'm gonna start putting, I'm gonna start taking things out of my schedule because I I'm not trusting him.

  420. And maybe that's you this morning.

  421. I want to ask you to just close your eyes.

  422. Again, this is not to embarrass anybody, but hey, like I'm at this place.

  423. Maybe if you just raise your hand, just so I know you're here.

  424. I'm at that place, right?

  425. I feel like I'm struggling to trust him.

  426. I feel like I have you, God's like naming things for you.

  427. The Holy Spirit's like picking like things in your life, being like, hey, I want you to put that on the shelf for right now.

  428. And maybe if that's you, just put your hand up nice and high.

  429. You've just been in a place where like, God, I just I'm just struggling to trust you.

  430. And I want to lean and and and have my dependence on you.

  431. Okay, awesome, thank you.

  432. And then maybe for those, I just want to know if you're here again.

  433. We're just gonna pray, we're gonna respond to the the Holy Spirit this morning through uh worship times.

  434. We're gonna have the prayer team come up after.

  435. But maybe, maybe for you, God's been putting a vision on your life and it kind of scares you.

  436. But he's asking you to prepare.

  437. Maybe if that's you, like maybe just put your hand up nice and high.

  438. God's been like asking me, He's been He's been putting something on me.

  439. I feel the weight on me.

  440. Awesome.

  441. I'm just gonna pray for you.

  442. We're gonna respond to worship this morning.

  443. I might invite the prayer team to come up.

  444. And so during the worship time, if you feel like you just want to get prayer, I would encourage you to do so.

  445. But Father God, I thank you so much for even just everyone in this room this morning.

  446. God, wherever we're at, God, that we first and foremost, we understand that we are sent by you.

  447. God, that as Christians, as disciples of Jesus, Father, we just we recognize that that there will be opposition.

  448. But God, that we are sent by you.

  449. More importantly, we are sent by you, and we go in your name.

  450. And we're ambassadors of you.

  451. But Father, we as we are sent, God, sometimes it's scary.

  452. Sometimes it's hard to trust Him.

  453. Sometimes it's hard because we we feel attached to certain things in our life.

  454. We hold on to certain things as security.

  455. And God, for those who are in that space that you've been speaking to them this morning about trusting you and leaning on dependence on you, Father, that they would they would begin to be spoke, you would just speak to them, Father, about what those things are.

  456. God, your Holy Spirit will be here in this this morning to speak to us, God.

  457. Begin revealing things in our hearts, God.

  458. Maybe things that we need to lay down or leave behind, Father.

  459. And God, for those in the room that that I believe that, God, you're you're you're calling us, you're putting purpose on our life.

  460. And not just a general purpose, but God, you're giving vision to your people.

  461. You're giving them something to do.

  462. You're leading somebody in this place to something bigger than themselves, Father.

  463. And God, that there would be a time of preparation, as it says in Luke 22.

  464. God, that they would they would then prepare themselves as they're being sent.

  465. But God, wherever anybody is at in this room, Father, we just thank you.

  466. And we just want to respond to you.

  467. We want to respond to you and exalt your name today.

  468. That our purpose, our grand purpose is to glorify your name.

  469. That the will of your life of what you have for us, your will is that we glorify your name this morning.

  470. So I'm just gonna invite the band to play.

  471. And we're just gonna begin to worship in this place.

  472. We're just beginning to lift up his name this morning.

  473. Even right now, don't even wait for the band to begin to sing.

  474. Let's just begin to worship him and lift up his name.

  475. This is our purpose to glorify him.

  476. Let's just lift up his name this morning.

  477. If you need prayer, just come forward right now.

  478. You just need someone extra to just to talk to or pray with.
