So now we're gonna talk about breakthrough again.
-
Amen.
-
Got a part two, breakthrough part two.
-
Simply.
-
I'm not gonna go over too much of last week.
-
I just want to continue, okay?
-
So let me continue.
-
Your breakthrough can impact somebody else.
-
Your personal breakthrough can impact somebody else.
-
People can see what God has done in your life, and that will inspire them.
-
We'll get to it later.
-
Today's main text is gonna be in the book of Mark, chapter 5, verses 21 to 26.
-
Amen.
-
Let me read them real quick.
-
Okay, yeah, I'm gonna read them from there.
-
Okay.
-
It says, When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake.
-
22.
-
Then one of the synagogue leaders named Jairus came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet.
-
He plead earnestly with him.
-
Excuse me.
-
24.
-
So Jesus went with him, right?
-
A large crowd followed and pressed around him.
-
25.
-
A woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years.
-
I'm going somewhere.
-
And the last one, she had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.
-
May the Lord add blessing to his word.
-
Amen.
-
All right.
-
Let's start by telling somebody today, right?
-
Your breakthrough is bigger than you.
-
Tell the person that your breakthrough is bigger than you.
-
Pastor Luz, your breakthrough is bigger than you.
-
I know we normally think about breakthrough in a very personal way.
-
Because we go to God, God, I need my breakthrough, right?
-
That's what that's what we say.
-
And we make it personal.
-
We say, God, I need my breakthrough.
-
God, I need you to open this door.
-
I need this door open, God.
-
God, I need you to make a way where there is no way.
-
God, I need you to heal me.
-
I need healing.
-
And this is not only physical healing, but internal spiritual healing.
-
That's very important.
-
Healing of the mind.
-
We need the healing, right?
-
We say, God, I need you to fix my family.
-
God, I need you to fix my family.
-
And there's nothing wrong with praying that way, guys.
-
Because we do it.
-
There's nothing wrong with praying that way.
-
Because sometimes you really do need God to break something open in your life.
-
You need him to break something open in your life.
-
But, but, what if God doesn't just want to bring you through something?
-
I'll ask you again.
-
What if God just doesn't want to bring you through something?
-
What if God wants to bring you through something so that somebody else can see what God can do?
-
What if?
-
What if that's the reason why we're going through what we're going through right now?
-
It don't got nothing to do with you or me, but it has to do with your neighbor.
-
Say, neighbor, my breakthrough's yours.
-
Guys, what if the thing you cried about?
-
What if the thing you cried about?
-
The thing you prayed about, the thing you almost gave up on, the thing you thought was taking too long, is actually going to become the thing God uses to tell someone else.
-
If God did it for them, He can do it for me.
-
If God rose that person from where they were, He could raise me from where I am.
-
Amen.
-
And that is what impact looks like.
-
When somebody sees what you got from God and it impacts them.
-
That's what impact looks like.
-
Your story can be the foundation of someone else's story.
-
Your story and your breakthrough could be the foundation that starts something new for someone else.
-
Because again, we make breakthroughs personal, but I want you to look at it from the other point of view.
-
Your hardship could be what someone else needs, proof that God presents themselves there.
-
It's proof.
-
So let's talk about impact.
-
Let's talk about what a spiritual impact is.
-
Okay?
-
A spiritual impact, it means the profound, non-material influence that a belief, action, or force has on human soul, inner well-being, and connection to a higher purpose.
-
That's what spiritual impact means.
-
So, in other words, spiritual impact is when what God does in you starts affecting someone else.
-
What God does in you starts affecting someone else, starts affecting somebody that knows what you're going through.
-
Right?
-
It starts affecting you.
-
Why?
-
Because that's how a breakthrough is.
-
Your breakthrough changes you, it changes you.
-
But your testimony could change someone else.
-
No, I got more, I got more.
-
Your healing could give somebody else hope.
-
Because it can.
-
But your restoration could show somebody else that restoration is even possible.
-
Oh, your deliverance could show somebody else that they're not stuck.
-
Because we feel stuck.
-
We say, God, I'm still stuck in the same area, the same level.
-
I feel no growth.
-
But when God brings you out, it shows somebody that where you were, hey, that's possible for me too.
-
Just know this, guys.
-
Your breakthrough becomes somebody else's evidence that God moves.
-
Your breakthrough becomes somebody else's evidence that God is real.
-
Your breakthrough becomes somebody else's evidence that God is for you and never against you.
-
So in the book of Mark, chapter 5, right?
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
There are two breakthroughs in one story.
-
Hallelujah.
-
There's two breakthroughs in one story.
-
Mark 5 gives us the most powerful examples of this, right?
-
And we already read it.
-
So it starts off.
-
It says, Jesus gets off the boat, and there's a crowd waiting for him, right?
-
And one of the synagogue leaders named Jairus comes running to Jesus, right?
-
This man isn't coming to Jesus because he wants a blessing.
-
He's coming because his daughter is dying.
-
There's a difference between wanting a blessing and having a need.
-
And the way you approach God in those two areas, you would see that there is a difference.
-
Now, it's his daughter that was dying, her coming back to life.
-
That's a blessing, right?
-
Yes, that's a blessing.
-
It's a miracle.
-
And that's what separates the two.
-
That that was a miracle he was looking for.
-
We see a man that is desperate.
-
Desperate.
-
Because it says he ran to Jesus.
-
He saw him and he ran to Jesus.
-
He knew exactly where to go.
-
A leader of a synagogue.
-
If you would understand how big that is, he's the leader of a synagogue.
-
The same people that would look at him and say, nah, this is not the son of God.
-
A religious leader saw him coming from far.
-
He said, Wait a minute, let me go to him.
-
He knew because of what he needed, he needed to go to him.
-
So we see a man that was desperate.
-
A father running to the one that he knows that can help him.
-
He falls at Jesus' feet.
-
That's what he did.
-
And says, My little daughter is dying.
-
Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.
-
Please come and put your hands on my daughter who's dying so that she will be healed and live.
-
So what the Father is saying here is, Jesus, I need you at my house.
-
This is why I ran to you.
-
You don't know where I live.
-
I'm gonna take you to my house where my daughter is because I need you to show up.
-
I need you to lay your hands on my daughter.
-
Then Jesus starts walking with him.
-
It's beautiful.
-
You know what that shows you?
-
Jesus meets you where you are and then takes you the rest of the way.
-
Jesus will meet you where you are and then take you the rest of the way.
-
Right?
-
Can you imagine that man, though, Jairus?
-
Can you imagine this?
-
He's probably thinking in his head, thank God Jesus is coming with me, bro.
-
Why do you think he thought that?
-
Because he was a leader who probably was one who said he's not the son of God.
-
So now when he comes to needing the son of God, he knew where he was gonna be, and he leaves from his synagogue, from his home, excuse me, he leaves from his home and goes to find Jesus, and now Jesus decides to go with him.
-
So in his head, he's like, I don't deserve him to come with me.
-
I'm a leader who was speaking against Jesus.
-
But now I asked him for help and he decided to come with me.
-
That's something important I want you to remember.
-
He's saying, My daughter's about to get healed.
-
In the walk.
-
He's personally thinking this.
-
He's walking with Jesus.
-
My daughter's about to get healed.
-
I know it's gonna happen.
-
This is it.
-
My daughter, I know my daughter's dying.
-
I went to meet Jesus.
-
He said he'll come with me.
-
We're on our way.
-
That means my daughter's gonna get healed.
-
My breakthrough is on the way.
-
But then something happens, say happens.
-
Something happens, guys.
-
You know what happens?
-
We read it.
-
Jesus gets interrupted.
-
Jesus gets interrupted on his way to Jairus' house to heal Jairus' daughter, who was dying.
-
Jesus gets interrupted.
-
And this is where the story gets crazy.
-
Because while Jesus is walking toward Jairus' house, another person needs a breakthrough.
-
So while Jesus is making his way to do what Jairus asked him to do, someone interrupts him because that person needs a breakthrough.
-
Could it be that that woman knew exactly who that man was?
-
Absolutely.
-
Could it be that she knew exactly why?
-
Think about this.
-
That means that that woman knew who Jairus was.
-
And she knew how Jairus thought about Jesus.
-
So when she knew how gyrus thought about Jesus, she saw them in the gather.
-
She said, if he's gonna get a breakthrough, this is my opportunity to get mine.
-
And I don't care where Jesus is going, I want mine too.
-
I want my breakthrough too.
-
Okay.
-
Another person needs a breakthrough, guys.
-
Sometimes your breakthrough happens in the middle of somebody else's story.
-
Mark tells us, right?
-
As he wrote this, Mark tells us there was a woman who had been suffering from bleeding for 12 years.
-
12 years.
-
She was suffering.
-
She suffered.
-
She spent everything she had, he told us.
-
She visited doctors and she tried everything that she could try.
-
And instead of getting better, the Bible says that she got worse.
-
12 years of trying to get better from an issue that you don't understand, being, being, no, I'll go to that part later.
-
But getting getting um ignored by everybody because of her condition, right?
-
And she's like, I need my breakthrough.
-
I tried everything.
-
I got him now in front of me, and I don't care what he's getting into, I don't care what Jesus is about to get into, I need him to pay attention to me.
-
Can you imagine living 12 years with the same problem?
-
Listen.
-
12 years with the same problem.
-
I want you to do something.
-
Think about your biggest problem.
-
Now add 12 years.
-
Crazy.
-
Crazy.
-
I want you to think about your biggest problem and say, I'm going through 12 years of that.
-
So that's hard.
-
I wanted to bring that picture to you.
-
12 years of disappointment.
-
12 years of disappointment.
-
12 years of waiting.
-
Just waiting.
-
12 years of hoping.
-
12 years of people probably telling her, maybe tomorrow.
-
Maybe, maybe the next doctor you'll see will be the one that can help you.
-
Just wait.
-
Girl, calm down.
-
You ever been so desperate that people tell you, calm down, man?
-
You need to relax.
-
She was probably that way because she couldn't handle what she was going through.
-
12 years of that condition is not easy, y'all.
-
You take what you're going through for a month.
-
You telling me that you'll be able to do 12 years?
-
Absolutely not.
-
So while they told her, maybe tomorrow, you know what happened?
-
Tomorrow just kept coming.
-
12 years of tomorrow's.
-
Every day that passed, it was just another day where she didn't get healed, where she didn't receive her breakthrough, where she didn't get out of her disappointment, her anguish, and her pain.
-
12 years of it.
-
Every day that passed was just another day that she didn't receive it.
-
I think that a lot of us can know what that's like.
-
Because you've been praying about the same thing for so long.
-
You've been praying for about the same thing for so long that you don't even know what it feels like to have the problem gone out of your life.
-
You just know how to live with it.
-
You know how to be comfortable in your problem.
-
Because you've had to, you had no other choice.
-
It's been there for so long that you just adapted to it.
-
It became a part of your life.
-
So now you've managed your life around your problem and you kept your problem there.
-
Because now you know how to move around with the problem.
-
You've gotten too used to carrying it.
-
Too used to carrying that problem.
-
The weight of it is too similar to let it go.
-
So you keep it.
-
It's too familiar.
-
I can't imagine not suffering, so I'll just carry it because I know how to carry this weight.
-
I know how much it weighs, and I think my back and my legs will be able to sustain under the 12 years of this.
-
And that, you know what's that speaking?
-
That's comfort speaking.
-
You've gotten used to fighting it.
-
Getting up to fight the same fight, the same way.
-
Nothing changes.
-
The same method, you're fighting the same method, all the same way.
-
You've gotten used to hiding it.
-
Covering your true feelings while still moving forward.
-
But nobody knows what you're going through.
-
You've gotten used to saying this.
-
I'm good when they ask you if you're good.
-
Why?
-
Because you've done it for 12 years.
-
I'm okay.
-
Desperate in the inside for this to change, but I'm okay.
-
I'm good.
-
But then she heard something.
-
She heard about Jesus.
-
That's what changed it all for her.
-
And then the Bible says that she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak.
-
She came up behind him and touched his cloak.
-
Because she said, if I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.
-
If I just, yo, she's not.
-
Oh my God, this just hit me.
-
Thank you, Holy Spirit.
-
Jairus said, Come lay hands on my daughter.
-
She said, if I could just touch what he's wearing, my God, that's being that's deep.
-
Yo, she he said, Come lay your hands on my daughter.
-
And she said, if I could just let me just touch what he's wearing, that's enough for me.
-
The word touch.
-
And yes, I have a definition.
-
Look at what it says.
-
To place a hand, finger, or other body part in physical contact with something or someone.
-
To place a hand, finger, or other body part in physical contact with someone.
-
And immediately her breakthrough happened.
-
She touched his cloak, her breakthrough happening.
-
The bleeding stopped.
-
She knew it when it happened.
-
Her body knew it.
-
She didn't need anybody to tell her that she was just healed.
-
She knew something just changed the moment she touched his cloak.
-
This woman got to touch our Lord and Savior in the physical.
-
But us, us guys, we get to touch him in the spirit through the Holy Spirit.
-
So we have actually the same access she had.
-
She had it physical, but we have it in the spirit.
-
And you know what makes ours a little bit better?
-
That he lives inside of us.
-
Every single second of the day, he's already there.
-
He's already there.
-
And like her, we also receive the same power she received.
-
Because that was power that healed her.
-
Here's what I love about this, guys.
-
Jesus was already going somewhere.
-
Remember, we already talked about Jairus took him and he said, I want you to go to my house.
-
He was already going somewhere.
-
Jesus was headed to Jairus' house.
-
Jairus had already asked Jesus for a miracle, but Jesus stopped.
-
Jesus stopped.
-
Because somebody else's breakthrough was happening.
-
Not what's going to happen was happening already.
-
Don't miss this, guys.
-
Jairus was waiting for his miracle while watching somebody else receive theirs.
-
Think of the story.
-
Yo, please.
-
This was crazy when I was reading this.
-
They they're walking together.
-
He's like, Yes, I'm gonna get my healing.
-
This woman steps in, all of this happens, he everybody knows she got healed, and he's like, Bro, she stole my blessing.
-
Man, I if I was Jairus, I'd be like, girl, you couldn't wait till he did me first.
-
You saw me walking with him.
-
I was with him first, man.
-
Who told you to step in?
-
I want my blessing first.
-
So Jairus was walking, he was waiting for his miracle, and at the same time, somebody was receiving hers.
-
Something you're gonna have to watch God bless somebody else.
-
Sometimes, I'm sorry.
-
Sometimes you're gonna have to watch God bless somebody else.
-
That's the reality.
-
Just gotta sit back and watch it happen.
-
Got to.
-
While you're still waiting on your own breakthrough.
-
You're gonna see somebody get healed while you're still praying for healing.
-
It's the reality.
-
You're gonna see somebody's family restored while you're still crying over yours.
-
You're gonna see somebody walk through a door while you're still standing outside of yours.
-
Don't let somebody else's breakthrough convince you that God forgot about yours.
-
Oh my gosh.
-
Don't let somebody else's blessing and breakthrough convince you.
-
Oh, they got theirs, he forgot about mine.
-
Because I've been asking him for mine too.
-
Where's mine?
-
He forgot about mine.
-
No, don't let that convince you that, man.
-
Jairus watched another person get their miracle, but his story wasn't even over.
-
He literally watched that happen in front of him, man.
-
Your breakthrough could become somebody else's encouragement.
-
So while we're thinking that Jairus was discouraged, this probably lit a fire in him.
-
Because he already was on his way to get his daughter healed.
-
And he believed.
-
So when he saw this happen, could this be confirmation for him internally?
-
Like, this is really gonna happen for me too.
-
I just saw it happen to a stranger.
-
This is gonna happen to me, and I already got him going to my house to heal my daughter.
-
It could have served as something to encourage him.
-
Jesus stops, right?
-
And asks, Who touched my clothes?
-
But look at this.
-
The disciples were confused, bro.
-
If you read it, you'll see.
-
Disciples were confused, confused.
-
They said, Jesus, what do you mean who touched you?
-
We're in the middle of all of these people.
-
There's people everywhere around us pressing up against us.
-
Everybody's touching you, bro.
-
What are you talking about?
-
What do you mean?
-
Everybody is touching you.
-
We're all here.
-
We're trying to make our way through this big multitude of a crowd.
-
Everybody's touching you.
-
But Jesus knew something different happened, though.
-
There was a touch of desperation.
-
There wasn't a touch of, oh Jesus.
-
That's just touching Jesus because you know who he is.
-
But what he felt was a touch of desperation.
-
And that's what led him to say, wait, somebody touched me.
-
A touch of desperation is different than a touch of acknowledgement.
-
It's different.
-
I acknowledge you, man.
-
Good job.
-
Good job.
-
Amen.
-
You grip the person.
-
That that feeling, I talked about touch earlier.
-
That feeling, it really sets it apart.
-
I'm no longer I don't longer want your attention.
-
I need it.
-
I don't want it.
-
I don't want you to pay attention to what I gotta say.
-
I need you to help me with what I got going on.
-
And that was the difference.
-
There was a touch of faith.
-
There was a touch that pulled something out of him.
-
And the woman comes forward trembling after she does this, right?
-
She comes before him.
-
And I could I I always picture this her going before him in front of a crowd.
-
She kneels down, bro.
-
Look at what he says.
-
Daughter, your faith has healed you.
-
Go in peace and be freed from your sufferings.
-
But what I want you guys to pay attention, oh my god, this is good.
-
I want you to pay attention to what Jesus actually said there.
-
The language, look at what he said.
-
He calls her daughter.
-
He calls the woman daughter.
-
For 12 years, she had been dealing with a condition.
-
But Jesus gave her an identity beyond her condition.
-
He looked past her condition and gave her an identity.
-
An identity.
-
Because society didn't want to associate with her because of her condition.
-
They didn't want to associate with her.
-
So Jesus gave her an identity that associated with him.
-
That's good, right?
-
That was good.
-
He gave her an identity that associated with him.
-
Because he said, My daughter.
-
So while here I know that you saw that nobody here wants you.
-
But because you touched me in desperation and in faith, you're mine now.
-
You belong to me.
-
Now your identity is in me.
-
You're my daughter, he said.
-
Today he tells you, you're my son.
-
You're my daughter, and I see how desperate you are.
-
I've seen that you've come and tried to touch me in desperation because you want your breakthrough.
-
I want to tell you guys, you're not your problem.
-
You are not your problem.
-
You're not your pain.
-
You're not your pain.
-
You're not your past.
-
It's a big one.
-
You are not who you used to be.
-
You're not your past.
-
That doesn't identify you.
-
You're not what happened to you.
-
You're not what happened to you.
-
And you're not what somebody did to you.
-
You belong to God.
-
Your identity now is in Christ Jesus.
-
So just like the woman with the issue of blood, he became, she became, excuse me, his daughter the moment she touched him.
-
The moment you said, Jesus, I want you, you became part of the kingdom.
-
And that's where your identity dies.
-
And then something interesting happens, right?
-
While Jesus is still standing, while Jesus is still talking to this woman, some people come to Jairus' house, right?
-
Come from Jairus' house.
-
So something happened in Jairus' house.
-
We'll get to it in a minute.
-
And now they're running to where Jesus is.
-
They went to go find Jairus.
-
And they tell him, Your daughter's dead.
-
Then they say, Why bother the teacher anymore?
-
Why bother Jesus?
-
You were on your way, this happened.
-
He got interrupted.
-
And with that interruption came now, his daughter died.
-
Can you imagine hearing that?
-
Jairus just watched Jesus heal somebody else.
-
And now somebody comes and tells him that it's too late for you.
-
That's basically what they said.
-
Now think like him.
-
She just, if she would not have interrupted him.
-
If she would not have interrupted him, I would have been there and she would have lived, she would have been healed.
-
But this happened.
-
This happened.
-
This got in the way.
-
That's how the enemy operates, guys.
-
He operates like that sometimes.
-
He'll let you see somebody else's miracle and then whisper to you.
-
Just whisper to you and say, but yours isn't coming.
-
So don't wait for it.
-
Yours is not coming.
-
Oh, look, that's good.
-
That's good.
-
And and the devil will let you celebrate somebody else's testimony.
-
He'll let you celebrate their testimony.
-
And then tell you your situation is different.
-
Yeah, uh they got their blessing and their testimony is great, but yours is different.
-
You you don't you don't deserve.
-
You don't deserve your healing.
-
You don't deserve to heal internally.
-
You don't deserve what you're asking him for.
-
So stop bothering him.
-
Like the men that came to Jairus and told him, hey, don't bother the teacher no more.
-
It's too late.
-
She already died.
-
It's over.
-
Just let him go back to where he was going.
-
But Jesus immediately turns to Jairus and look at what he told him.
-
He told him, Don't be afraid, just believe.
-
Don't be afraid, just believe.
-
Somebody else's breakthrough can help you keep believing.
-
Somebody else's testimony can help you and encourage you to keep on going, yo.
-
I believe that this is one of the most powerful parts of the story.
-
Jairus just witnessed Jesus healed a woman who had been suffering for 12 years with the same issue.
-
Then Jairus gets the bad news about his own daughter on his way to her with Jesus.
-
But now Jairus, excuse me, has something that he didn't have.
-
You know what he has now?
-
Evidence.
-
Evidence.
-
So when Jesus told them, hey, just believe.
-
What did Jesus actually mean?
-
He's saying, Did you see what I just did?
-
Bro, you ain't see what I just did?
-
Matter of fact, I didn't even do it.
-
She touched me and she was made new.
-
Take it easy.
-
We're gonna go to your house and your daughter will rise again.
-
Take it easy.
-
I got you.
-
Let's go.
-
Just believe.
-
So what he didn't have before this, he just knew to go get Jesus.
-
So he went to go get Jesus.
-
Then they get interrupted.
-
Another woman receives her blessing, like we already said.
-
But then what happens?
-
He gets distracted by the news that it's too late.
-
Jesus tells him to believe, but now Jairus could think in and said, wait a minute, he's right.
-
I have to believe.
-
I just saw what happened.
-
Now I see evidence of healing right before me.
-
It happened.
-
He just watched Jesus do something that was impossible.
-
He watched the woman who had suffered for 12 years get healed right before him.
-
All those people did.
-
And now Jesus is telling him, don't be afraid, just believe.
-
Just believe.
-
In other words, Jairus, don't let the bad news erase what you just saw me do.
-
Don't let what you just saw me do be covered by the bad news you just received.
-
Let's go.
-
Let's keep walking.
-
You may have received some bad news.
-
You may have experienced a lot of setbacks.
-
Man, setbacks are the most annoying thing to have to live with being a believer.
-
Setbacks.
-
Because okay, because what does a believer do?
-
He goes forward.
-
And when you're set back, isn't it annoying that you take a few steps back and you're like, bro, when am I gonna get to step two?
-
That's what it feels like.
-
It's annoying.
-
You may be dealing with something that looks impossible.
-
But don't forget what you've already seen God do.
-
Do not forget the miracles and breakthroughs that not only God did for you, but did for others and you witnessed.
-
Hmm.
-
Because in the time of waiting for our breakthrough, we get desperate.
-
We start to feel like he forgot.
-
I already said this, and we start to feel like it's not my turn.
-
When is it my turn?
-
But I need you to start to remember what God did for me before.
-
He did for my sister, he did for my brother in Christ.
-
He restored another family.
-
What I'm waiting for is right around the corner.
-
If I could just wait for my time.
-
You got history with God.
-
I got history with God.
-
You have testimony, you have evidence.
-
You have moments where God made a way out of no way.
-
We all have that.
-
We all have that.
-
God showed up in your life when you didn't expect him to, he made a way, and now everything is good for a period of time.
-
Right?
-
Moments where God opened the door, moments where God protected you.
-
Moments where God provided for you.
-
Moments where you didn't know how you were going to make it through, but God made a way, guys.
-
Three quick things, and I'm done here.
-
What you need to do with your breakthrough, with your breakthrough.
-
The first thing I want you to learn how to do with your breakthrough is receive it.
-
That sounds simple because you're desperately waiting, but sometimes the breakthrough comes and you don't know what to do with it.
-
It looks so impossible.
-
Was this really God?
-
Bro, just receive it.
-
It's time for you to open your arms and receive what you've been dying for me to do for you.
-
Receive it.
-
When God opens the door, walk through it.
-
When God restores you, receive it.
-
When God gives you peace, receive it.
-
Receive it.
-
Don't keep living your life.
-
Don't keep living your life.
-
I'm sorry.
-
Don't keep living your life like you're still trapped in what God already bought you out of.
-
Why?
-
Why do we do that?
-
The next step.
-
First, you receive it.
-
Next, remember it.
-
Because it's easy to forget when you receive the breakthrough, bro.
-
Tell me I'm lying.
-
I'm not.
-
It's easy to receive, it's easy to forget when you received your last breakthrough.
-
You know why?
-
Because life starts happening.
-
Things start getting back to normal.
-
You're already cool.
-
You received your breakthrough.
-
God is good.
-
You're walking.
-
Things start getting bad, but you're still walking.
-
And you start to forget.
-
It's normal.
-
So I want you to remember it.
-
Don't forget about what God did for you.
-
Do not forget it.
-
When the next door comes, when the next storm comes, excuse me, remember the last one.
-
That's a great reminder.
-
If he took me out of the last storm, this one stands no chance.
-
Because he took me out of the last one, he will take me out of this one.
-
When the next battle comes, remember the last battle.
-
It's that simple.
-
When doubt starts talking to you, remember what your testimony looks like right now.
-
Your memory can become fuel for your faith.
-
That's good.
-
You gotta write that down.
-
Your memory can become fuel for your faith.
-
Remembering what God did for you in the past will fuel your faith for what's to come, for what you're waiting for God to do in your life, for your breakthrough.
-
It'll add fuel to you.
-
It'll inspire you, it'll encourage you to hold on a little longer.
-
Maybe we don't gotta wait 12 years.
-
And if we do, so what?
-
So what?
-
So what if we gotta wait 12?
-
You know why I talk like that?
-
Because my faith is ridiculous.
-
My wife knows.
-
It used to bother her a lot.
-
She used to be like, Hey, I don't see what you see.
-
I know you don't.
-
I can't explain it to you, but this is what I see.
-
And that's why, because I'm like that.
-
I'm just wired different.
-
I've seen things where I'm like, whoa.
-
And you know what I do?
-
I don't forget them.
-
I don't forget them.
-
I'm wired, I don't forget them.
-
If God did it before, I know God is able to do it again.
-
And the third thing, release it.
-
So receive it, remember, and release it.
-
You're like, wait, hold up, Pastor.
-
How you want me to receive my breakthrough and then release it?
-
That don't make no sense.
-
Let's get to it.
-
I want you to release it.
-
This is the part that we miss, guys.
-
We miss this part.
-
Don't keep your testimony to yourself.
-
Release it.
-
You better talk about what God did in your life.
-
You better testify about the goodness of God in your life so others can see that God can do for them too.
-
That's what I mean about releasing it.
-
Tell somebody what God did, encourage somebody about what God did in your life.
-
Pray for somebody like somebody prayed for you.
-
Pray for somebody.
-
And the most important one that I've been learning the last month serve somebody.
-
Serve somebody.
-
Show somebody what Jesus looks like.
-
Because your breakthrough.
-
No, I'm not gonna say that.
-
Because your breakthrough was never just about you.
-
It was never just about you.
-
There were there was a cloud of witnesses that saw what you were going through when you were going through it.
-
And they were waiting for you to curse God's name the way Job's wife wanted him to curse God.
-
They were they didn't tell you.
-
But they were they were they were spectating from the sidelines, like I can't wait for him to.
-
Yeah, oh no, no, no.
-
He's a man of God now, but look at what he got going on now.
-
Let's see what happens.
-
Let's see if God really is real.
-
He's waiting for something from God.
-
I can't wait to see that God doesn't do it for him.
-
Because it ain't about you.
-
God blesses you so you can become a blessing for somebody else.
-
Who?
-
God don't bless you so you can keep it for you.
-
God doesn't bless you so you keep that testimony tucked and you never talk about God's goodness.
-
No, He blesses you so you can share it with the world, and it can become something of encouragement for somebody else.
-
Your breakthrough got a purpose.
-
It may seem like it's purposeless because right now it's a desire.
-
So you don't feel like it's a purpose.
-
It's a desire you have.
-
You want God to do something in your life, and you want that breakthrough to happen.
-
So it's a desire, it's a prayer, but it has a purpose.
-
The woman in Mark V thought she was just trying to get healed.
-
She wasn't thinking this.
-
I'm about to encourage Jairus.
-
She wasn't thinking that.
-
She didn't even know.
-
You know, she wasn't, that's not what was on her mind when she went to Jesus.
-
She wasn't thinking, my testimony is about to become part of another family's miracle.
-
No, she was not thinking that.
-
She ain't say when they read about me in 4,000 years, they're gonna get inspired.
-
I can't wait to inspect.
-
That's not her train of thought.
-
She was just trying to touch Jesus.
-
That's all she was trying to do.
-
She didn't think that deep, that far.
-
She didn't.
-
But while she was receiving her breakthrough, somebody else was watching.
-
Somebody else was watching.
-
And while Jairus was waiting, somebody else's breakthrough became part of his journey.
-
At the same time.
-
That's why I want you to understand something, guys.
-
Your breakthrough will impact somebody else.
-
Not only can it do it, no, it will.
-
It will.
-
You don't know who's watching you.
-
There's a cloud of witness, but you don't know who they are.
-
You don't know, you don't know who's watching you.
-
You don't know who's encouraged by you.
-
You don't see that.
-
From time to time, they'll tell you, hey man, you you you you inspired me that one time.
-
But where were you when that time was then?
-
I didn't hear that.
-
I needed to know that I was inspiring somebody.
-
I needed to know that I was encouraging somebody.
-
It would have been nice to hear back then.
-
But no, they always come to you after the fact.
-
That shows you what they've been watching you.
-
They've been watching.
-
You don't know who sees that you're still showing up.
-
You don't know who's looking at you, still fighting, still hanging on, believing in God when everybody else thinks you're ridiculous for doing it.
-
You don't know who's watching you like that.
-
You don't know who's still seeing you worship, who's still seeing you serve.
-
You don't know who's still seeing you believe.
-
And you don't know who's thinking.
-
If they could make it, maybe one day I can make it too.
-
Maybe one day God could change me the way they changed them.
-
Maybe the people that are watching you are the spectators, and these spectators are waiting to see if your change was genuine, so they could then ask you, hey, how did you do that?
-
How did you finally step out to God?
-
Because I've been thinking about it for a while.
-
Man, I've been thinking about God for a while, and I see that you've changed.
-
Can you help me?
-
Oh my gosh.
-
That is a living testimony and something encouraging for the one watching that's spectating, probably with devious thoughts, but they see nothing but God showing up in your life.
-
That encourages somebody.
-
So don't give up now.
-
I don't know where you're at.
-
I don't know if you're waiting for a breakthrough.
-
I don't know if you're desperate for your breakthrough.
-
And I don't know if you've seen a woman the issue of blood in your own life in your gyrus.
-
I don't know what you're going through.
-
I don't know.
-
But don't give up.
-
Don't quit.
-
Don't quit.
-
Jairus was persistent.
-
He went to Jesus, grabbed him, and then took him to his house.
-
The woman with the issue of blood who was nameless in the Bible, she was persistent.
-
She digged under the crowd and hid all the way, and she said, if I could just touch what he's wearing, she was persistent.
-
Those two people that received their breakthrough in the same day, at the same time, they have something in common.
-
They didn't give up.
-
So if there's something that's encouraging about this sermon today, I want you to be encouraged by this.
-
If Jairus and the woman of the issue of blood didn't give up, why am I thinking about giving up?
-
Why am I thinking about surrendering because I've been waiting too long, but you have not been waiting 12 years?
-
We don't get to just drop God off our lives because he doesn't do what we ask him to do.
-
That's not how this works.
-
If you're really gonna be about this walk, then you need to hang on and wait by faith that God is going to be for you.
-
Just wait.
-
Somebody may need what God is producing in you.
-
So just hang on and wait.
-
Amen.
-
And wait for your breakthrough.
