Alright, y'all.
-
So I am given the task of talking about 2nd Samuel chapter 8 this evening.
-
And if I had to give a title to this, I'm going to simply call it victory.
-
2 Samuel chapter 8 has a total of um 18 verses, well short chapter.
2 Samuel 8 chapter mention
-
But in it, you are going down talking about David and his military victories.
-
So uh I want to bring our attention to two verses of scripture in here.
-
Verse 6 says, Then he placed several army garrisons in Damascus, the Aramean capital, and the Arameans became David's subjects and paid him tribute money.
-
So the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.
-
And then if we dig on down into this chapter a little further, going down to verse 14, it says, He placed army garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became David's subjects.
-
In fact, the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.
-
So when you're going about your days, when you're going about your situations, I want you to put your name in that phrase.
-
The Lord made Stephanie victorious wherever she went.
-
The Lord made Dr.
-
Yvonne victorious wherever she went.
-
The Lord made Donna victorious wherever she went.
-
The Lord made Minister Edith victorious wherever she went.
-
The Lord made Pastor Reggie victorious wherever he went.
-
The Lord made Minister Tony victorious wherever she went.
-
Every single person that is connected to the Beyond Community, all of us victorious.
-
Why?
-
Because we are in Christ.
-
In Christ we can achieve all things.
-
So I looked up um victory on a topical Bible study, and it says definition, victory in the biblical context refers to the triumph or successes over an adversary, obstacle or challenge.
-
It is often associated with God's deliverance and fulfillment of his promises to his people.
-
The concept of victory is deeply rooted in the narrative of scripture, symbolizing both physical and spiritual conquest.
-
In the Old Testament, victory is frequently depicted in the context of battles and warfare.
-
If you read on 2 Samuel chapter 8, that's exactly what it's talking about.
2 Samuel 8 chapter mention
-
The Israelites' victories over their enemies are often attributed to divine intervention.
-
The account of David and Goliath, that's a victory.
-
It's not just a physical victory, but it's a testament to the faith in God's power.
-
In the New Testament, the concept of victory takes on a more spiritual dimension.
-
The ultimate victory is seen in Jesus Christ's triumph over sin and death.
-
In 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 57, Paul writes, But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
As we've been taught very well through Faith Christian Center, Patrick Kerrigan, his teaching, victory is a gift.
-
It is a gift because Jesus purchased it for us.
-
So it's not something that we have to strive or work for it, it is something that we take by faith.
-
And I was also looking up, I'm gonna do it again right now.
-
If you just go into your Bible and search the word victory, all kinds of scriptures come up.
-
Romans chapter 8, verse 37 says, No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ Jesus who loved us.
-
Psalms chapter 20, verse 5 says, May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.
-
May the Lord answer all your prayers.
-
Psalms chapter 118, verse 21 says, I thank you for answering my prayer and giving me victory.
-
Psalms chapter 62, verse 1 says, I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.
-
Psalms chapter 3, verse 8 says, Victory comes from you, O Lord.
-
May you bless your people.
-
Psalms 20, verse 9 says, Give victory to our King, O Lord, answer our cry for help.
-
Psalm chapter 118, verse 14 says, The Lord is my strength and my song, he has given me victory.
-
Psalms chapter 149, verse 4 says, For the Lord delights in his people, he crowns the humble with victory.
-
Judges chapter 1, verse 2 says, The Lord answered Judah, for I have given them victory over the land.
-
2 Samuel chapter 22, verse 36 says, You have given me your shield of victory.
-
Your help has made me great.
-
And I can go on and on and on and on reading about the victory that God has afforded to us.
-
Um, like I just said, in the New Testament, we are victorious because of Jesus.
-
Jesus has purchased victory for us.
-
We can all think do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
-
Victory is a gift, and we overcome the world by our faith.
-
So in this um chapter, 2 Samuel, David is victorious because of God.
-
God made David victorious.
-
God made David victorious.
-
So how do you become victorious in this day and time?
-
Well, for us, you have to receive Jesus.
-
And thank God, you know, from the people I'm looking on here, we've all received Jesus as Lord and Savior.
-
And then we have to know the word, know the Holy Spirit, know God, and follow his commands, follow his demands, follow what he tells us to do.
-
And when we follow his instructions, then victory springs forth from that.
-
As we continue to walk forth, and as we continue to look to God, and as we continue to lean onto him, trust him, rely on him, and not our own our own understanding, victory is guaranteed.
-
It manifests from our union with him, for our connection with him, it manifests through our relationship with him, our partnership with him.
-
Victory comes to us because we are in Christ.
-
Never to be separated from him again.
-
We are in a very blessed position in this day and time.
-
And it's our job and our duty to make that known to everybody who we possibly can, so that as the word says, all can be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth.
-
We don't want God doesn't want anybody to perish.
-
He wants everybody to know this victory, he wants everybody to know exactly what Jesus purchased for them, what's available to them right now.
-
He doesn't want anybody to um fall by the wayside or get caught up in the enemy's traps to tell them that they're not victorious, to tell them that you're not a winner.
-
Those um who are dealing with uh situations right now, like uh the enemy's trying to, he's in your ear and telling you that you can't win is not possible, and then uh those situations are screaming louder than the word does, don't let it.
-
If the enemy is above your ankle, then he is too high, he is underneath your feet because that's where Jesus put him when he went to hell, death, and the grave, and conquered it for us.
-
Victory is a gift, victory is ours, victory belongs to us.
-
And with that being said, I'm gonna go ahead and um jump to my notes to where we just went the other day, tongues and interpretation, and I'm gonna read what we just um experienced on Sunday.
-
The path before you is one of victory, the path before you is one of greatness.
-
So don't let a giant discourage you.
-
Don't let a bad report cause you to quit.
-
Don't let the oppression of the enemy cause you to give up on the dream I put in your heart.
-
You do what you heard today, you make the adjustments you've heard today.
-
You follow me and you grow up spiritually, and you'll see victory, victory, victory, victory, victory, victory, victory, victory, victory.
-
But get some boldness about you.
-
Boldness that flows from the line of the tribe of Judah, boldness that flows from the spirit of the Almighty God.
-
Walk in divine boldness, walk in confidence that comes from prayer.
-
Walk like you know your father hears you every time you open your mouth.
-
Make these adjustments, and then you'll be able to say, like the son, my father always hears me when I pray.
-
When you begin to do that, you'll see an outflow and an outbreak of miracles.
-
Yes, in church, but wherever you go, you'll see the manifestation of my power.
-
And yes, it'll begin to flow.
-
For I have great plans for the end of this year and great plans for 2027, great plans for 2028.
-
There are things I'm taking you into, but you've got to make the adjustments so you're prepared to walk in them and be positioned to receive what I want to give to you.
-
So make these adjustments, saith the Lord.
-
Make these adjustments, says the God of grace.
-
Make these adjustments, and you'll see me take you into that place.
-
The place that I've promised, the place that I've designed, the place that I've crafted and built just for you to inhabit for this time.
-
Follow me, and you'll see everything was worth it.
-
Every step, every prayer, every decision to follow me was worth it because I've gone far beyond all your wildest thoughts, prayers, and ideas, says the Lord.
-
Victory.
-
It's guaranteed.
-
It belongs to us.
-
We're just recipients of that blessing.
-
Recipients of what Jesus did.
-
Cold airs with Christ.
-
Seated in heavenly places.
-
Victory is a gift, and it belongs to us.
