Amen.
-
Thank you.
-
And I feel the Lord.
-
Thank you all for coming and singing and bringing us some beautiful voices to the Lord.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
It's not just music to me.
-
It's worship to Jesus.
-
I don't know about you, but I love the Lord.
-
He's done so much for me.
-
That word Amen is not the end of the blessing over your food.
-
It means it is so.
-
Sometimes you need to read the word of God over your life.
-
And you need to say, it is so.
-
It's gonna happen.
-
Somebody say it's gonna happen.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
I'm not a doctor.
-
It's come to realize these things over the years.
-
I'm not a counselor.
-
I'm not a financial advisor.
-
I'm a pastor.
-
And I deal with the spirit.
-
And I believe if you get the spiritual part right, everything else will get in alignment.
-
I believe that.
-
I want to say how much I love Zach.
-
I don't know if you guys know it or not, but you're blessed to have them.
-
I'm sad to see them leave.
-
Angela's been with me since she was just a tiny tot.
-
Going door to door, knocking on doors, trying to start churches.
-
I bribed her and her sister when they were like 11 because it felt like when the girls were with me, the doors would open.
-
When the girls weren't with me, people thought I was something besides what I was, and they wouldn't open the door.
-
But when I had one of the little kids with me, it was like bribery.
-
People would always open the door.
-
So I told the girls, I said, Y'all come with me, and one of you can drive the van and follow us through the neighborhoods, and the other one has to walk with me to knock doors.
-
And so Angela has been with me to a thousand doors, where we told people about Jesus, and we prayed for them, and we witnessed to them.
-
And I love her so much.
-
I'm so thankful for her, for Zach.
-
And I'm thankful to have my wife with me of 31 years.
-
We've been married, we were just kids when we got married, and now we're old.
-
I'm old.
-
She's not old, but I am.
-
I want to read to you from 1 Samuel chapter 17.
1 Samuel 17 chapter mention
-
One of my favorite stories in the Bible.
-
Have y'all watched that series called The House of David?
-
Oh my gosh.
-
If you haven't watched The House of David, you have to just go ahead and subscribe to whatever you gotta subscribe to.
-
I think you can get it through Prime or Angel Network or something and watch the series called The House of David.
-
It is the best show like that that I've ever seen, as far as the cinematics of it and everything.
-
It is just fantastic.
-
So I just want to throw a shot out there.
-
I should get commission.
-
Verse 26.
-
And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine?
-
And taketh away the reproach from Israel.
-
For who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
-
Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
-
Who is this person who is not in covenant with God?
-
That he should defy the armies of the living God.
-
And Samuel, skipping down to verse 38, because they told David, you get the daughter of Saul, your family doesn't have to pay taxes and all these things.
-
They told him.
-
And he asked like three times.
-
He went to three different people.
-
And he said, What happens to the dude that kills this giant?
-
And they told him, and then he went to somebody else.
-
And he said, What am I going to get when I kill this giant?
-
And they told him, and he went to somebody else.
-
And he said, Okay, what exactly is gonna happen when I kill this guy, Goliath?
-
I preached a few years ago.
-
What you see is what you get.
-
All the army, they saw death standing out there.
-
David saw, I get that pretty girl.
-
My family gets to be free, and I get all kinds of money.
-
Verse 38, Saul armed David with his armor and put a helmet of brass upon his head.
-
And he armed him with a coat of mail.
-
And I'm gonna stop right there and I'm gonna read the rest, but I'll let you be seated.
-
And I want to pray first.
-
I want to preach to you this morning on the subject how giants fall.
-
How giants fall.
-
There are insurmountable circumstances.
-
And God, I pray that before we leave this house today, that there will be some giants that will be laying on the floor dead in this building, Lord, that we can walk away from God.
-
I pray that the anointing that breaks every yoke of bondage would fall on me this morning, and that I would be able to speak your word and that we would be able to receive it in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
-
You could be seated.
-
And David, verse 39, girded his sword upon his armor, and he essayed to go.
-
He tried to go, for he had not proved it.
-
And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, for I have not proved them.
-
And David put them off him.
-
Verse 40, and he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, put them in a shepherd's bag, which he had, even in a script, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew near to the Philistine.
-
The Philistine came and drew near to David, and the man that bare his shield went before him.
-
And when the Philistine looked out and saw David, he disdained him, for he was but a youth and ruddy and of a fair complexion or countenance.
-
Goliath was insulted that they sent a child to fight him.
-
He's like, and verse 43, and the Philistine said to David, Am I a dog that thou send that you come with me with staves?
-
And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
-
And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air and to the beast of the field.
-
And then David said to the Philistine, Thou cometh to me with the sword and with the spear and with the shield, but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, who you have defied.
-
This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will smite you, which means I will beat you, and I will take thy head from thee.
-
Now, interestingly enough, David says this to Goliath while he's still alive.
-
And guess what?
-
David doesn't have a sword yet.
-
I think David already had a plan to kill him with his own sword and cut his head off.
-
That's just my opinion.
-
Because he said this.
-
And I will give the carcass of the host of the Philistines this day to the fowls of the air, to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
-
And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
-
It came to pass when the Philistine arose and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistines.
-
And David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and slang it and smote the Philistine in his forehead so that the stone sank into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the earth.
-
How giants fall.
-
Now I'm 6'4, and I'm the front of my family.
-
My older brother was 6'11 with no shoes on, and he wore cowboy boots.
-
So he was seven foot.
-
He ducked through every door and he weighed about 350 pounds, and he did not look in any way fat.
-
He was just a big old boy.
-
Goliath was 9 to 13 feet tall, according to history.
-
He had been killing people before David was born.
-
Goliath represents an insurmountable obstacle.
-
Somebody say impossible.
-
That's what Goliath was.
-
He was impossible.
-
David didn't know how to use a sword and a shield.
-
I imagine David small, skinny, and I imagine Saul, you know, they said Saul stood head and shoulders above the people.
-
He was a big guy.
-
I'm imagining Saul's sword on David like dragging the ground.
-
Do y'all see the picture David has on Saul's coat of mail and his big breastplate and the sword's dragging, and he's trying to hold the shield, and he's like, this is not gonna, this ain't gonna work.
-
He tosses it aside.
-
David was unskilled.
-
David was no match for Goliath.
-
That is a fact.
-
David went out to meet Goliath with a slingshot and a shepherd staff.
-
Goliath had a shield so big he needed a separate dude to carry it.
-
He had a shield so big, he had another guy that took it with him out there and handed it to him when he was ready for it.
-
There was no way a boy with a slingshot was gonna kill a 12th or a 9 to 13 foot pot tall monster who had been killing people since David before he was born.
-
Some of you came in this house today facing giants.
-
No question.
-
I find it interesting that the city Goliath came from was called Gath, which means wine press.
-
Substance abuse has ruled and destroyed so many lives.
-
Some of you are facing financial giants.
-
You're in a situation you don't know how you're gonna get out of.
-
Some of you are facing relationship giants, you're facing breakdowns.
-
You're here with questions.
-
But to me, the big question is, how did Goliath fall?
-
You know, we talk about the story and we say when we were little kids, they taught us about David and Goliath, right?
-
Really, though, that's not the name of the story.
-
It really should be called God and Goliath.
-
That really is the situation.
-
We say David killed Goliath.
-
But did David really kill Goliath?
-
Or did God kill Goliath?
-
That's the question.
-
Let's look at the demise of Goliath and see if we can find some things that might help us.
-
To me, the greatest thing that took down Goliath, the greatest fact that brought him to death was this.
-
Goliath was on the wrong side of the battle.
-
David did not kill Goliath.
-
I've seen people make out like David was a master slingshot artist.
-
I just don't believe that.
-
The Bible said the stone sank into Goliath's forehead.
-
Now, y'all got chat GTP out there, or GPT, right?
-
Alright, a normal dude has a pretty thick skull.
-
Your skull can take a pretty good hit.
-
I've tested that multiple times.
-
Do you know how much power a rock has to have?
-
Now, another thing is something tells me that if the dude was 13 feet tall, he probably had a pretty thick skull.
-
Not normal.
-
He had a heavy duty skull.
-
Okay?
-
Do you know how hard a rock, how fast a rock has to be moving to go into a person's head?
-
That, my friend, was not a rock.
-
I mean, it was a rock, but in our world today, that was more like a bullet.
-
Can somebody say amen?
-
What hit Goliath was not from a shepherd boy that couldn't carry Saul's armor.
-
What hit Goliath was the hand of God on a stone that David picked up out of a brook.
-
Maybe there was someone who could have killed Goliath with a say a sword, but David wasn't that man.
-
And David said, God doesn't use man-made weapons like swords and spears.
-
He uses little shepherd boys with a staff because God wanted to humiliate not just Goliath, Israel.
-
David said the battle is the Lord's.
-
It's not my problem.
-
This guy's not my problem.
-
This guy is God's problem.
-
The reason you will die, Goliath, is because you're on the wrong side of a battle.
-
You may have been to other battles where you killed and where you took prisoners and where you won, but you will not win this battle because you're on the wrong side of this battle.
-
Because what David said to Goliath or to his people, I think he was talking to his own guys.
-
He said, Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
-
What's the significance of circumcision?
-
Thank you, Angela.
-
The significance is covenant.
-
This person is not in covenant with God, and he's coming against people who are.
-
Now, of all the things I'm gonna say today, this is the most important one.
-
Goliath may have been a 13-foot-tall monster killer, but he was not in covenant with God, and David was out of covenant.
-
I want to share something with you that may shock your theology, it may make some people mad.
-
I preached this before.
-
People have come up to me afterwards and just they were angry at what I'm about to say, but I'm gonna say it anyway because it is a fact.
-
God does not treat everyone the same.
-
We used to sing a song when I was a little kid.
-
Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight.
-
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
-
Is that true?
-
That's true.
-
But he doesn't love them all the same.
-
And you're like, whoa, Pastor, what do you mean he doesn't love them all the same?
-
Jehovah God said, Jacob have I loved, and Esau have I hated.
-
Has anybody ever read that scripture besides me?
-
Let's say it again.
-
Jacob I loved.
-
Esau, I hated.
-
What?
-
What do you mean?
-
I thought everybody was equal.
-
I thought God treated everybody the same.
-
I'm gonna tell you this.
-
God didn't love Pharaoh.
-
Am I in the same Bible?
-
Am I mistaken?
-
Or was Pharaoh chasing after God's covenant people and he drowned along with all of his army in the river?
-
God didn't love Amalek.
-
He told Saul, you kill him and everyone, all of his children, and every animal that he owns.
-
We got this idea that God feels the same way about everybody.
-
And my question is this what is the difference between Pharaoh and God's people?
-
Covenant.
-
We're talking today about how giants fall.
-
Somebody say covenant.
-
Many people want all the promises of God, but they don't want to make any promises of their own.
-
What is a covenant?
-
A covenant is an exchange of promises.
-
When you go buy a new car, most of the time they slide a piece of paper in front of you, and you agree to pay$500 a month, and they agree to give you the car.
-
That's a covenant.
-
Marriage is a covenant.
-
Marriage is the most important covenant that God has ever put in front of man.
-
I'll tell you a little story.
-
So it's all happening the same day.
-
At our church, I used to have my phone number on the sign outside of the building, my cell phone.
-
And when I tell you I got some calls, I got some calls all the time.
-
Our church is downtown Gramercy.
-
Matter of fact, if you stand at the front door of our church, you can look straight across Main Street and see the town hall.
-
We're in the center of town, on the side of the building, bridge point between a broken world and a healing God, and my phone number.
-
And so I'll never forget I got a call.
-
I went up there, and this lady was there, and she wanted money.
-
And here's the deal I've got ways to not give people money.
-
I say, and we do have a group of people that decide on whether we're going to give charitable, and I can ask them to fill out a paper.
-
Y'all know all this.
-
And then the board can decide, and that's one way to go.
-
I also have the liberty as a pastor to do it if I want to.
-
And sometimes you do it, you know, and this woman though was clearly manipulating.
-
I knew that she wasn't.
-
I guarantee you, she'd been to every church in town by now, and I was probably fourth or fifth.
-
Maybe some people had given her money, maybe some hadn't.
-
But I could smell alcohol, and she needed money for her electric bill.
-
But for some reason, I felt the Lord encouraged me to help her.
-
I've never been here before.
-
And so begrudgingly, I reached into my own wallet because I didn't want to go around and go through all the things of the church.
-
I just pulled out some cash, which is I never do that.
-
I always tell people, we don't give out cash.
-
I'll buy groceries, I'll pay your electric bill, whatever, but I'm not gonna hand you cash.
-
I just wanted to get it done.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
I felt like I needed to do it.
-
I don't know if she was gonna go get liquored up and turn into a toad or what.
-
I just felt like I'm gonna grab some cash out of my wallet.
-
So I pulled my wallet out and I opened up and I just closed my eyes and I grabbed, you know, maybe 150, whatever.
-
I grabbed some cash and I handed it to the girl and I prayed for her.
-
And she walked off.
-
And you know, I just thought, man, I know you told me to do that, Lord, and I did it, but that was that.
-
Okay.
-
Same day later in the day, we're at Whole Foods in Baton Rouge, and we had just started cycling.
-
Stephanie and I bike ride, and we started cycling, and we And and so we're at Whole Foods, and next door to Whole Foods, there's a bicycle shop.
-
And I went over to the bicycle shop while she was in there in Whole Foods, and I saw this bike hanging, and it's an expensive bike.
-
It's from Italy.
-
It's called a Bianchi bicycle.
-
And it was so pretty, red, sparkling.
-
And I went over inside the store and I told Steph, I said, Girl, you got to come see this bike.
-
So Stephanie comes next door and she sees this bike hanging.
-
Beautiful red bicycle.
-
The salesman, like he starts skipping, you know, he's excited.
-
So he grabs it off the wall, puts it down, adjusts the seat, gets it all, and sends her out in the parking lot on it.
-
She goes out and rides this thing, and she comes back, and when she's coming back towards the store, she's smiling from ear to ear.
-
I want to tell you what happened.
-
I couldn't get my wallet out of my pants fast enough.
-
I was so excited.
-
I got my wallet out.
-
I pulled out my card.
-
I handed it to the guy.
-
I said, what else?
-
And he gave it, he sold me an extra seat, a phone holder, all the gadgets, and it didn't matter.
-
I did not care.
-
I did not care.
-
And I was excited when we got that bike and loaded it in the truck and we started heading home.
-
We were me and Stephanie were smiling from ear to ear, excited about something that I would never ride because I'm a six foot-four monster, and this bike is made for a nice lady.
-
What?
-
And I want to tell you something else.
-
That bicycle costs a lot more than that woman's electric bill.
-
What was the difference between the woman that met me at the church that I begrudgingly gave$100 to, and the woman sitting right there that I could not get my wallet out of my pocket fast enough to hand hundreds of dollars for a bicycle that none of us really need.
-
Covenant.
-
Somebody say covenant.
-
We're talking about how giants fall.
-
Many people want and believe they deserve all the promises of God, but they never make any promises of their own.
-
David was looking at Goliath, and he was saying to Goliath, You're fighting to build your kingdom, but I'm about to watch God protect his.
-
God says for us to love everybody, right?
-
I love you guys.
-
I'm thankful that you're here, but I have an obligation to this one girl.
-
I will pay her bills.
-
I will buy her a nice car.
-
I will give her everything I have.
-
When she is beautiful, I'm beautiful.
-
When she is happy, I'm happy.
-
Whenever she feels good, I feel good.
-
Why?
-
Because she made some promises to me 31 years ago, and we have lived together year after year, through good, through bad, through ups, through downs, through pain, through sorrow.
-
And I love her with all of my heart.
-
She is the apple of my eye.
-
And why is that?
-
Because she and I are a part of each other.
-
She is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.
-
And we're in covenant together.
-
Are you purchased by the blood of Jesus?
-
I just want to ask you that today.
-
Paul said, I am not my own.
-
I have been bought with the price.
-
Have you committed to the war of souls?
-
Can I preach to you for a while this morning?
-
Or are you awalled?
-
What is going on?
-
God is not a garage door opener where we punched in the right numbers on the wall and the right door opens.
-
God is not some kind of uh a witch's uh spell where we chant the right words together and somehow something happens in the spirit.
-
I want to tell you what I know about God.
-
God is a covenant God.
-
I said God is a covenant God, and He wants to be in relationship with a covenant people.
-
And when you are in a covenant, I'm gonna tell you something.
-
We rode our bicycles yesterday in New Orleans and we saw all these people riding around, but I was always I always keep my eyes around, and I'm looking for two people.
-
I'm looking for her and I'm looking for Angela because they were with me.
-
And I if I see some guy come over here and beat up some woman, I don't know what I would do, just depends on the situation.
-
But let me tell you something.
-
If I see somebody coming towards my girl, I'm gonna come alive.
-
I will fight to the death.
-
If ten men came to take my wife, they probably would defeat me, but not a lot.
-
Why?
-
Because that's my girl.
-
We are in covenant together, and I want to tell you something.
-
God is a covenant God.
-
David said, Man looketh on the outward appearance, but God looketh on the heart.
-
Paul said, All things are open and naked before him.
-
The question is, whose side are you on?
-
I'm preaching a miracle message today.
-
Somebody is gonna walk out of here different today.
-
Somebody is gonna get a miracle in their life, somebody is gonna have a giant kill that they never thought possible today.
-
How is that gonna happen?
-
It's gonna happen because of covenant.
-
Let me tell you something.
-
The question is, whose side are you on?
-
Because you need to learn how to fight from inside the kingdom.
-
You need to submit to the king and come into alignment with his church.
-
Some of you are being defeated by giants because you're actually on the wrong side.
-
I'm getting, I'm on a metal.
-
I'm only here, I'm not the pastor, so I'm just gonna start swinging.
-
How about that?
-
Jesus said, Upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against the church.
-
Let me tell you something, friend.
-
The gates of hell can prevail against you, but they cannot prevail against God's church.
-
You can win a few fistfights on your own, but if you want to win a war against the devil, you need an army.
-
You need to be in this ship, this ship called the church.
-
Many people come to church for prayer, for healing.
-
They want help, but they don't necessarily want to join the kingdom.
-
I came today with a message from heaven.
-
It's simply as this seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness being right with him, and all these things will be added unto you.
-
You show me a man that is in covenant with God, that is engaged in a war for souls, that is walking with God with all of his heart, and you show me an uncircumcised Philistine that comes against him.
-
I will show you a God that will slay him with a slingshot and a staff.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Who do you follow?
-
God will take care of your giants.
-
You need to take care of your allegiance.
-
Who do you follow?
-
Some people follow no one, they only do what they want to do.
-
I'm here to tell you if you will pledge your allegiance to the kingdom of God, God will kill the giants in your life, and he will use your hand to do it.
-
Some of you have never committed to God with everything.
-
You always have some reservations.
-
Reservations stop transformation.
-
Every time.
-
Lord, I want to serve you, but I want to keep committing fornication.
-
I want to serve you, but I want to keep drinking.
-
I want to serve you, but I want this.
-
I want that.
-
I want to live this way.
-
I want to do this.
-
I want to do this.
-
I want to do it, but I have reservations.
-
Let me tell you something.
-
When you truly come into cup, can you imagine me saying that to Stephanie?
-
I want to serve you, baby, but I got this other girl.
-
I want you to cook for me.
-
Pick up my dirty clothes and put them in the dirt clothes hamper because I throw them right there almost in, but not quite.
-
I want you to defend me when people get mad at my decisions and start attacking me.
-
I want you to stand with me through thick and thin.
-
But baby, listen, I really like this other girl.
-
Covenant.
-
When you make up your mind to get in this battle, God will take care of your giants.
-
Hear me this morning.
-
Seek ye first the kingdom of God.
-
First the kingdom of God.
-
That's why the Bible teaches that we give the first fruits of our income.
-
That is a commitment.
-
That's a covenant with God.
-
I give to God first.
-
You start off giving to God first, you end up giving to God first.
-
I take the first fruits and I give it to God.
-
I give him my money, I give him my time, I give him my future.
-
I didn't come to grammarcy to make money.
-
I didn't come to grammarcy to build a business.
-
I came to grammarcy to follow God and to build his kingdom.
-
And the enemy has come at me multiple times to try to distract me, to pull me aside, to draw me into this and to draw me into that.
-
But I remember I am not here for you.
-
I came first for him.
-
He gets my first fruit.
-
I am the bride.
-
Somebody say, I'm the bride.
-
I'm the bride of Christ.
-
Seek ye first.
-
If you will seek, if you'll stop seeking your kingdom and start seeking God's kingdom, God will bring deliverance into your life.
-
God will heal your mental illness.
-
God will deal with your anxiety.
-
God will destroy your addictions.
-
God will slay your giants.
-
God will help your marriage.
-
But seek ye first.
-
The thing you need to realize is I've got to get on the wrong, on the right side of this battle.
-
I've literally met people on the same side as Goliath.
-
80% of their life is spent resisting the kingdom of God.
-
But when they get sick, guess where they come.
-
Some of you need to do a border crossing.
-
You know, I'm not I understand borders.
-
You gotta lock your house, right?
-
Don't just let everybody in.
-
But I also understand people coming to America.
-
Come on.
-
If I was somewhere else and I could find a way, I'd be coming too.
-
I understand.
-
I've been everywhere.
-
I've been in South America, I've been in Mexico, I've been in Uruguay, I've been in Guatemala, I've been in the Dominican Republic, I've been to Africa, I've been all around.
-
I know that this is a very special place we live in.
-
And if you don't realize that, you got something going on between your ears that needs to be worked on.
-
You need to travel, not just to your professor, you need to go somewhere and see it for yourself.
-
America is exceptional.
-
It is unbelievable.
-
It is an incredible country.
-
I understand why people come here because where they live is not, there's no possibility for a good life.
-
You go to Uganda, Africa, and look at these people living in a house made of mud with a grass hut, and you tell me and their government oppresses them, and you try to ship them something, and the government steals it before they ever get to it and sells it.
-
You show me how these people are gonna get anywhere.
-
How are they gonna get a business?
-
How are they gonna grow?
-
How are they gonna be successful?
-
And the murder, the killing, there's so much killing, especially in South America and some countries, and if somebody comes and murders one of your family members, you have to pay the police to investigate.
-
And if you don't have no money, they don't even come over.
-
We don't even know the murder rate in El Salvador because they don't even investigate most murders because the people can't pay.
-
We live in an incredible country, and that's not what I came to preach about.
-
Some of you are living in a place in a kingdom that is unsafe and poor.
-
And it's time for you to cross the border into the kingdom of God.
-
It's time for you to stop trying to rule it.
-
It's time for you to come to a place where there's actual peace, where there's actual people that will love you, where there's actual prosperity for you, where God will take you and He will increase you, and He will help you, and He will bless you.
-
But you can't come here and bring your mess here.
-
You gotta leave that at the border.
-
And you gotta come to the feet of Jesus, and you have to repent and let yourself be purchased with the blood of Jesus.
-
And you have to come to an understanding that I don't belong to me.
-
I belong to him.
-
And God will take the things that you thought were so impossible.
-
And he'll take a simple stone and he'll sink it into their forehead.
-
Whose side are you on?
-
That's my question for you this morning.
-
Why would God get involved in your situation if you're not even fighting on the right side?
-
Repentance.
-
I'm closing.
-
It's lunchtime.
-
I don't see any old people.
-
I do see some old people, but they're awake.
-
My pastor used to say, when the old people wake up feeling refreshed, you've done preach too long.
-
True repentance is not a sinner's prayer.
-
It's death.
-
It's death to the old man.
-
Are you tired?
-
Are you tired?
-
Are you tired of running your ship?
-
Are you tired of the suffering?
-
Are you tired of crashing and burning?
-
Are you tired of the oppression that's going on in your life?
-
Are you tired of struggling and struggling and struggling and trying and trying and not getting anywhere and circling right back around to the same brokenness, the same defeat, the same Goliath that stands and he jeers at you and he says, I will defeat you.
-
I will feed your flesh to the fowls of the air.
-
Over and over, you circle right back to the same brokenness.
-
I want to say something to you tonight.
-
There is deliverance for you, there's power for you, there is an anointing for you that will break every yoke of bondage.
-
But I'm not here to lie to you and tell you that Jesus is your sugar daddy in the sky.
-
And you just come up here to Apostolic Church, and oh, Pastor Dwayne's gonna pray for you, and God's gonna make your wildest dreams come true.
-
No, I am tired of that.
-
Get on the right side of the battle, and God will fight for you.
-
You lay yourself down at the feet of Jesus and you give your life to him, and you let there be a change of ownership, and you watch God step into your life, you watch God attack the giants in your life, you watch God destroy your anxiety and your depression, you watch God give you the joy of the Lord, you watch God give you a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness, but it all starts at death, it starts when you fall at the feet of Jesus.
-
Hello, man.
-
Supposed to silence your phone.
-
Sorry about that.
-
I didn't expect to be preaching this early.
-
I usually preach at five o'clock.
-
I want to finish this with one final story.
-
There's a character in the Bible.
-
We don't know what he was demon-possessed.
-
He lived in a place called the Gaterenes.
-
Y'all remember this story?
-
Take my jacket off.
-
I'm starting to heat up.
-
Talking about how giants fall.
-
The Bible says that this character was possessed with a bunch of devils.
-
The Bible says that he lived in a graveyard and that he cut himself with stones.
-
Y'all know what I'm talking about?
-
The Bible says he screamed at night.
-
People heard him screaming.
-
What an awful circumstance.
-
The Bible says that people would catch him and try to chain him up with fetters and chains.
-
Y'all know what fetters, those big old giant metal shackles, and they would try to tame him.
-
But the Bible says he would break the fetters.
-
This guy was a problem.
-
He was broken.
-
He was tormented.
-
He was possessed by devils.
-
And he had lost control.
-
Come on, somebody, of his entire life.
-
But the Bible says Jesus came to the Gatarenes.
-
It's a long story.
-
Jesus was going somewhere else and he got in the boat and a big storm blew him over there.
-
And I could talk about that.
-
But bottom line is after the storm and the disciples and the seat, peace be still, and what kind of guy is this?
-
That the element obey him, all that stuff, the boat lands on Gaterenes.
-
And here comes this guy.
-
The Bible says, with thousands of demons, having been trapped and caught by people like an animal and chained up, having cut himself and screamed in the night, with all of that against him.
-
The Bible says when Jesus stepped on the shore of the Gadderades, the Bible says this man came and ran and fell at his feet and worshipped him.
-
Good Lord.
-
That's incredible.
-
Then something interesting happens.
-
The man the devil in this man starts to speak.
-
And he says, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou son of the most high?
-
Don't throw us out into the deep or into the water.
-
It's interesting because if you read the story, the devils already knew they were leaving.
-
They already knew they were leaving.
-
They just wanted Jesus to not throw them into the sea.
-
I don't know why.
-
You'll have to ask the Lord that when we get there.
-
But they said, Don't throw us into the deep.
-
They said, Lord, send us in to these swine, these pigs.
-
And Jesus said one word.
-
Go.
-
And the Bible says, All these devils.
-
Talked about how giants fall.
-
That tried to make this man kill himself.
-
Left with one word.
-
Go.
-
Get out of this man.
-
Thousand devils.
-
Woo woo.
-
Gone.
-
They went into the pigs, and guess what the pigs did?
-
They killed themselves.
-
Imagine a pig.
-
Running into a body of water and drowning it.
-
What do you think they were trying to do with him?
-
Why do you think he was screaming and cutting himself and vacillating and people changing him?
-
All these demons went into these pigs.
-
And the Bible says they ran down a steep embankment into the sea and drowned themselves in the water.
-
Let me tell you what happened when you throw yourself in the feet.
-
Now these devils that were his problems.
-
But when he threw himself at the feet of Jesus and worshiped him, the Bible says they stopped talking to the man and they started talking to Jesus.
-
This is how God.
-
Shaking your fist in the sky, friend.
-
Who owns you?
-
Whose side are you on?
-
I got news for you today.
-
That life you're living is gonna get tired.
-
That life you're chasing is gonna get broken.
-
And when it does, don't forget this message tonight.
-
If you will throw yourself at the feet of Jesus, he will destroy the giants and your life.
-
He will step in to your circumstance, and he will break the bondage every single time.
-
To be baptized, to bury the old man in the name of Jesus.
-
And then you get power.
-
God doesn't just send you out into the world and say, Good luck with your problems.
-
The Bible says you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you.
-
Somebody say power.
-
What you need is power.
-
You need Holy Ghost power.
-
You don't need willpower, you need God power.
-
You need the power of the Holy Ghost in your life.
-
But the Holy Ghost is not something you do, it's something God does.
-
I don't like it when people try to make somebody speak in tongues and say that's the Holy Ghost.
-
That's not the Holy Ghost.
-
The Bible says that they were they spoke with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
-
The Holy Ghost is supernatural.
-
You see, you repent when you're ready.
-
You fall at the feet of Jesus when you're ready.
-
That is an act of your will and your decision.
-
And when you get baptized, that's because you decided to do it.
-
You go to the water when you're ready.
-
You let that old man be buried when you're ready in the name of Jesus, but you get the Holy Ghost when God's ready.
-
The Holy Ghost comes from God, it doesn't come from you.
-
It's not an act of your will, it is an act of you yielding.
-
Somebody say yielding.
-
You have to yield yourself to God.
-
You have to put yourself in a position where you give God control.
-
The C word control.
-
You give him control.
-
And the Bible says the most unruly member of your body is what?
-
It's your tongue.
-
I tell people when your tongue goes, everything else is already gone.
-
When you give God control of your tongue, when you throw yourself at the feet of Jesus, when you die out to self, and when you give God control, he fills you immediately with power.
-
And he destroys every giant in your life.
-
Some of you came in here today facing some giants.
-
I want to pray for you today.
-
I want you to come.
-
I know I've been preaching to somebody.
-
I didn't come here by accident.
-
I prayed and the Lord gave me this word.
-
Some of you are facing some giants, some circumstances.
-
I want to pray over you this morning.
-
I want to pray the power of God will come into your circumstance.
-
I want to pray for deliverance power today.
-
Some of you need to be filled with the Holy Ghost this morning.
-
Some of you, if you've never been filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking with tongues, I want to invite you to this altar because we serve a God who is waiting and ready for you to yield.
-
And if you'll put yourself in position, God will pour out his power.
-
God will pour out his power and you will leave different than you came.
-
Yes, tongues is the fruit of is the evidence of the Holy Ghost, but I'll tell you what else is evidence, a changed life.
-
When God filled me with the Holy Ghost, He changed my life, He gave me power.
-
He has that power for you.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
Don't make me beg.
-
God's been speaking to some of you today through this word.
-
I just want you to step out from where you are and just receive what God wants to do in your life.
-
Hallelujah.
-
In the name of Jesus, come on.
-
All right, church, come up.
-
Let's all come up together.
-
I just feel like I want to pray over some of you tonight.
-
I don't want you to be alone.
-
Just step out from where you are, make your way up to this altar.
-
Hallelujah.
-
In the name of Jesus.
-
God, do your work tonight.
-
Speak to your people right now, this morning, Lord.
-
Open their ears to hear what the Spirit would say to the church, Lord.
-
In the name of Jesus.
-
In the name of Jesus, you see every giant, Lord.
-
You see every obstacle, God, that seems like it's impossible.
-
You see every person here that has a secret thing that's going on in their life that they fought against, that they've tried to overcome.
-
But God, they came here tonight with this word.
-
God, I pray right now that you would let them receive it.
-
Now, the first thing we're gonna do before I come and pray for you is we're gonna give, we're gonna get on the right side of the battle.
-
I want you right now to start making some promises to God.
-
I want you to open up your mouth and begin to speak to God and say, God, I am done driving my life.
-
I am done trying to do it on my own.
-
I am done living for me.
-
I'm done with my kingdom, God.
-
I am ready to give my life to you completely.
-
I'm ready to lay my myself at your feet, Lord, and surrender everything to you.
-
I'm done fighting against the church.
-
I'm done pushing my own way and making my own decisions, God.
-
I'm gonna give my life to you completely.
-
Come on, lift up your voice.
-
Come on, church.
-
Let's begin to pray right now, God, in the name of Jesus.
-
Touch the people that are here today.
-
God, you see every person, you see every circumstance, you see every reservation, Lord.
-
We lay ourselves at your feet, God.
-
We commit ourselves to the battle, Lord, to doing what you call us to do, to being what you call us to be, Lord.
-
In the name of Jesus, Lord, speak right now.
-
Move by your spirit, Lord.
-
Touch every person that's here, every giant, Lord.
-
In the name of Jesus, move, God.
-
If you have a specific issue that you want me to pray for, I want you to come right now and let me pray over you.
-
If there's some giant that you're facing, or maybe it's one of your kids, maybe it's a loved one, maybe it's your wife or your husband that is battling a giant that they cannot defeat.
-
I want us to pray together and believe God that He's gonna do a miracle in their lives.
-
Why don't you make yourself known?
-
I want to pray for you.
-
Come on, somebody right here.
-
No, there's some others, have some giants, some circumstances that come on up here.
-
Is there anybody else?
-
Yes, ma'am.
-
Come on, we're gonna pray.
-
I believe God sent me here with a word because he wants to do some.
-
Come on, there's some coming right now.
-
He wants to do some transformation in this house.
-
I didn't just come here to preach a pretty message and us all go out to eat.
-
I came here to see some giants fall, and I believe it's about to happen right now.
-
This is what we've been waiting for right here.
-
All right, lift up your voice, church.
-
We're about to pray over these that are here, and we're gonna believe God to do the miraculous in this house.
-
It is time you said I believe you said it is time you said I believe you said it is you said I believe you said it is the world, break the break of heart, God we believe, God we believe for it from the impossible We see a mirror, God we believe God we believe for it's the immovable break thee and break as well, God we believe, God we believe for it from the impossible we'll see a miracle.
-
God we believe, God we believe for it.
-
Yes, we believe Jesus Christ, we believe you said I believe it is I believe it is it is I believe I believe it is possible we'll see a beautiful Garby business, can't we for us we believe Jesus.
