The Truth About Demons | What the Bible Actually Says | Discipleship Series

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the Discipleship series with me and Pastor Elwood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Today we're going to be talking about biblical truths of demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this one extreme are the other in the Christianity world about demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: Either people believe in demons and they have all the extremes about them or they don't believe in them at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: And today, me and Pastor Elwood are going to go over a lot of scripture and just how like the biblical truth about demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there is a lot to go over.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people really want to learn about them.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the biggest thing that I can tell you starting off here is that this ain't demon class.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're not focusing in and being obsessed with demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, a little bit ago, that's the extreme.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of people who go through and they study demonology and they want to learn everything they can about demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the Bible never tells us to do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's never a time that Jesus commands us to go and to learn about these demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is is that His name is enough and His name is what makes the demons flee.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you study Jesus, then the power and authority to cast out demons is there.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the other way around.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't study demons to get to know Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: You study Jesus and then you learn how to fight demons.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the first one I will like to come up with is it's found in Acts chapter 19.

Acts 19 · chapter mention

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is talking about certain of the vagabond Jews.

[SPEAKER_00]: And actually they seem Paul take the aprons and hankers' half of him and lay it up on people's bodies while they got the healing plus the evil spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: was cast out of him as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so we find that you'd beg upon Jews.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's what they did.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just traveled from town to town.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the way they made their living.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they borrowed the name of Jesus or Paul.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a very reason that the demons said, Jesus we know, and Paul we know.

[SPEAKER_00]: But who are you?

[SPEAKER_00]: And you know the rest of the story how the demons came out and stripped them boys neck and down to the birthday suit and beat the tariff guys And I bet you they didn't feel food name or demons after that for all but anyway if you don't do it biblically

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is so vital even for our team.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have service on Friday night.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is so vital for our team to get into the spirit and pray to ask the Lord to move upon them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if there's any problem in the lot that they can get it taken care of.

[SPEAKER_00]: because you don't want to go to battle with these demons with envy or strife or anything whatsoever because you need a pure heart when you go against these rascals.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's only through Jesus Christ that they can be cast out.

[SPEAKER_00]: No other name under heaven or ford man can be say

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's a lot of deliverance ministries out there nowadays.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of a trend right now where people are going to these deliverance ministers.

[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, some of them are really taken advantage of people.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen this a lot where people will come to the revivals and they'll tell you their church hurt.

[SPEAKER_01]: They'll tell you what they've went through.

[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes I've had people say, well, you know, I've been paying to go and have deliverance here here here.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the first few times I heard that, I'm like, what do you mean you've been paying for it?

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, you know, our church charges us for sessions, and I'm like, are you kidding me?

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was the first time I really heard about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then, you know, upon this, you know, being on social media and just seeing a lot of different deliverance ministries and stuff pop up on your feed, then you start really seeing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, it's real.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's people out there, and they have made these big deliverance ministries.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it is a money racket, like it's a scheme.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they have

[SPEAKER_01]: and not say in that those people don't get set free and that's very well possible but you shouldn't be charging for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible clearly says freely you receive so freely you give and when it comes to things like that it burns me up because these people are being taken at Vanageau and I think it's really important for you to understand that you know

[SPEAKER_01]: God is Jesus is the one that cast out the demons, and when you go to somebody and they lay hands and they pray for you, and you are delivered, then who the sun sets free is free indeed.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to keep going back to a human, and just keep having them pray over you.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have power and authority in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_01]: And...

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's the problem with a lot of the deliverance ministries right now, it's just that they have created this system where people believe that they have to keep coming back for a service.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have to keep coming back and you know, that's not biblical.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's nowhere in the Bible did that happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Jesus Christ set people free and when he cast out demons and as the apostles did as well, then every single time they went on their way and they were free.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so there was never a time where they said, you know what, you got to come back

[SPEAKER_01]: I've got to see you every single week for the next year for you to be set free.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not biblical.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so if people try to tell you that your freedom has to be obtained through sessions or through a certain amount of time, that's not biblical.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to anything to do with demons, you have to go to the Bible because elsewhere it's man-made.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's taught by religion and by humans and people.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when it comes to the Bible, it tells you how to fight these things.

[SPEAKER_01]: It tells you exactly what to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there ain't nowhere in there that it tells you that you have to go through a series of sessions.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is literally an instant where the name of Jesus Christ set somebody free.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we remember if you go to the story Paul and Salis get into the temple, you know, and this girl was a kid harassed day in and day after three days Paul got tired of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, in the name of Jesus, come out of her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we know the story, you know,

[SPEAKER_00]: She would make a money for this guy and so after that well, they had them throw them prison Yep, but through the name of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ only With Paul able to do this, that's right and just like the bag of one choose, you know They was doing this to make money to make their living

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's nothing to make you live and all.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: People need to be set free and there's only one way to set them free.

[SPEAKER_00]: Nest of Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: And what he did it to cross.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he said it was finished, it was done.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore through Jesus Christ, every demon is got to flee.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just sail after God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll guarantee you the demons will recognize your name.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Jesus Christ, He can set us free, and as Kayla's already said, those that He set free is free, and indeed, and there's no other thing that can hold you down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now we gotta stay away from places that can open doors to demons in our lives, and so you just draw an eye to Christ, and keep Him in the forefront of your life every step of the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, as we had talked about in the beginning of this, there's either one extreme or the other.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's either people that believe in demons to the point where they're obsessed and want to study them, or there's people that are like, you know what?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know if demons are a time for today.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was back in the Bible days.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not for our present time.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so you have one extreme or the other.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I first want to talk about the extreme of people being obsessed with demons because this is something that is really easy to become because you see people, especially if they are craving freedom, if they have something in their life to where they are dealing with demonic forces, then it can become an obsession to want to learn about it and then they become so uber-focused and obsessed about demons that they forget about Jesus and as Jesus

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's so important to realize that if you are out here and you are suffering and you feel this spiritual battle that you're going through.

[SPEAKER_01]: If they're spiritual warfare, if there's people around you that you know has demons and whatever may be the case, you're not going to get free by studying the demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get free by studying Jesus and knowing who He is.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is His name that makes the demons flee.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is just so important because it's the opposite of what a lot of deliverance ministries teach.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I

[SPEAKER_01]: When I first, you know, truly started learning about demons because, you know, I grew up Southern Baptist, they don't talk about demons and in my church, they didn't anyway at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, it was everything around them But it was, you know, they didn't they didn't talk about demons and so I really didn't think that it was anything of today You know, I thought it was a thing of the past if it was anything at all

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, for me, to have to learn about what spiritual warfare is and to have to actually be faced with demons because, you know, I started baptizing people and they started manifesting and then here you are and someone in front of you there I was turned black.

[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I had to learn, you know, I had to go through a series of just, you know,

[SPEAKER_01]: truly seeking the Lord in the Bible and just like Lord you did this, you cast out demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: How do I do it?

[SPEAKER_01]: What do I do?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so upon studying so much, that's where I learned how to cast out demons, the proper way, the biblical way, the only way.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when I started researching and started learning, then like I said, it's where people start popping up on your feet on your social media.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see people that are in deliverance ministries and they're casting out demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they would say, well, you got to call him by their name.

[SPEAKER_01]: You got to call these demons by their name.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really, I wanted to seek the Bible on this because, like I said, Biblical is the only way.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really seek the Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, God, what is, what is this where everyone's calling the names of demons?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a whole educational system built on this, it's demonology, and it's just a whole thing where people have created the characteristics of a demon.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they'll basically have a profile, a characteristic profile of a demon, and they'll associate that with a name.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so for instance, they'll be like Python spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they'll characterize that spirit with something that they have seen repetitively and then they'll say like Jezebel Spirit Well Jezebel is in the Bible, but it doesn't say anything about her spirit jumping into you And so I sat here and I thought what is this and why are people associating these demonic forces with names?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so upon a lot of years of research now, it's pretty much just come to the conclusion that it's man-made

[SPEAKER_01]: It's what people with our fleshly minds have come to a conclusion of, hey, if I call it this, then maybe it's associating this demon with the characteristics and it will listen to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to tell you something, though.

[SPEAKER_01]: Demons flee at the name of Jesus, and in the Bible every single time it says all demons flee at the name of Jesus, and when Jesus would cast out demons, think about Legion, Legion means many, Legion means an army of, that means many multiple, and so when Jesus was faced with this man, and this man was cutting himself in the tombs, and just really distraught, he was plagued with demons,

[SPEAKER_01]: And Jesus comes face to face with him, and he does ask him what his name is, and when he does that, he says, Legion, you know, for we are many.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Jesus literally does not call him that after that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't say, what you Legion of demons I cast you out.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, he says, leave.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like he commands those demons out, and then they flee, and they go into the pigs after he allows it, and they drown themselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what's so important to not miss in this passage is that Jesus didn't ask him his name, so he could call him by him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus didn't sit there every time.

[SPEAKER_01]: He cast out demons and named them one by one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is because He has the power and authority over all demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so He literally just commanded them out.

[SPEAKER_01]: As a collective group, not hey, you Legion, not hey, you this, hey Jezebel, hey I can't remember some of the names of them, but there's so many and there's so many that they've characterized

[SPEAKER_01]: It is not biblical and Jesus Christ has power over all demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: You do not have to call them by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you go through the Bible and I have not found one place where Jesus called any demon by name or Paul called any demon by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: They say, come out of them on clean spirit, which it absolutely takes in the whole rim.

[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what that demon is, it has to come out.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have to call his name out.

[SPEAKER_00]: That demon doesn't need that respect.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh Come on, his name.

[SPEAKER_00]: No whatsoever when Jesus said come out of him the unclean spirit It had the goal and just like the man in whom you're talking about and he knew that they the demon knew that Jesus could cast him out and he said and the demon said can we go into those holes?

[SPEAKER_00]: and Jesus said, go and they went.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore all through the Bible, not one place where you find for Jesus or Paul, ever called a demon by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: They called him unclean spirit and they had to leave and it took in the whole realm of the demonics.

[SPEAKER_00]: of Satan, his spirit, and so therefore, so there is no name, except unclean spirit for their devils, and they need to be cast out, and he can only do it through Jesus Christ in Jesus Christ only, you know, just like a man had a dip in dumb spirit, and Mark's gospel chapter 19, and Jesus said, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, you've got to come out.

[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't call him by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I charge you to come out of him and enter no more.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let Matthew chapter 22.

Matthew 22 · chapter mention

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, possessed with a devil.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he called him a devil.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is a really awesome scripture to learn from.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're seeing those, there's a lot of people now who will see demons and they think that they have more power or they think or they're fearful of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when you see this, this man is the ultimate example.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is the example of somebody that is very possessed with demons and Jesus casts him out like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Bible said in chapter five more, and they came over to the other side, which was the gathering of the sea, of the country of the gatherings.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he was come out of the ship immediately, they're met him out of the tomb, a man with an unclean spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, who had his well in the

[SPEAKER_00]: because that he had been often bound with Frederson chains, and the chains had been plucked to sunder by him, and the Frederson broken in pieces neither could any man tame him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Man cannot tame the demons.

[SPEAKER_00]: These Frederson chains.

[SPEAKER_00]: It came into the picture.

[SPEAKER_00]: This man was chained up and he broke a messenger.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the spiritual chained that he had up on his life.

[SPEAKER_00]: That Satan had, he could not break.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could not break only through Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it goes on said in always night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs crying and cutting himself with stones.

[SPEAKER_00]: But when he saw Jesus apart all, he ran and worshiped him.

[SPEAKER_00]: my goodness.

[SPEAKER_00]: And cried with a loud voice and said, what have I to do with the Jesus, thou son of the most high God?

[SPEAKER_00]: I adjourned thee by God that thou torment me not.

[SPEAKER_00]: For he said unto him, Jesus was talking to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's just asked him what is thy name.

[SPEAKER_00]: He answered, my name is legions for we are many.

[SPEAKER_00]: And be so him must that he would not send them away out of the country.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now there was there an eye until the mountain they'd great heard a swine feeding.

[SPEAKER_00]: And all the devil'd be sawed him saying, send us and to the swines that we may enter and to them, all the devils, all of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't one devil.

[SPEAKER_00]: Allegion is any work from three.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think three to six thousand.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a lesion of the Roman army, and that's what they measured despite.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore all these devils, they solved these pigs to come out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus let them go out, but he had to come out because Jesus had our race spoke the word.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come out of the man thou unclean spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's exactly what they did.

[SPEAKER_00]: And those hogs ran violently down over a cliff and they drowned themselves in the sea.

[SPEAKER_00]: The hog wouldn't have something in them that humans have in them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, talk to me, somebody.

[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, I'm telling you, but the demons has no place in a person's life when Jesus comes on the same.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when Jesus speaks, they have to move.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no way.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a very reason as people, as Christian people,

[SPEAKER_00]: They need to be blood balls, blood balls, sanctified, Holy Ghost Field.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to deal with these demons, you must be.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: This Jesus said, it castes saying out, and those folks, they would not have a demon in them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they ran violently down the cliff and killed themselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you keep talking about the vagabond Jews.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in that instance, they say, Jesus, I know, and Paul, I know, but who are you without the power and authority and no one what you're doing?

[SPEAKER_01]: These demons don't know you.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're not scared of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's working in the power and authority of Jesus that makes demons flee and makes them tremble.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there's so many people out there that don't understand that they don't know the power and authority of Jesus and

[SPEAKER_00]: Said in verse 13, I'm sorry, in verse 13, chapter 19, then certain of the vagabond Jews, Exodus took upon them to call over them, had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: Same, we are journey by Jesus whom Paul preaches, and there were seven sons of Siva, a Jew and chief of the priest, which did so, and the evil spirits answered and said, Jesus, I know, and Paul, I know,

[SPEAKER_01]: but who are you did you just see it's it's a priest the chief of priest it's standing there and they're trying to expel demons yeah and they can't do it because these demons don't know them absolutely they don't recognize them because they don't have Christ in them there's so many people out here that can be religious people but they ain't got Jesus

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and all the religious leaders of the Bible, and they're standing there, and these demons are like, I don't know you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus, I know, and Paul, I know, but who are you?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so people can say the name Jesus all they want to.

[SPEAKER_01]: They can say that word, but until they know Jesus, until they know the power and authority and walk in the power and authority of Jesus,

[SPEAKER_01]: is just a word.

[SPEAKER_01]: And here they literally try to exercise the rights of Jesus without knowing Jesus and this is what happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is our example where these men were trying to use Jesus to be able to expel demonic forces and they didn't know how and they didn't know Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't know Jesus, but you're trying to use his name, then it can turn back on you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what just happened there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is that this Jewish priest and these people were trying to perform exorcisms, but they were using the name of Jesus without the power and authority of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's so important just to let that hate you because there's a lot of people out here that they do try to do exercises stuff like they do try to cast out demons, but you know without knowing Jesus, he is the one that makes the demons flee.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think you had said the key word there.

[SPEAKER_00]: They try to use the name of Jesus and castes demon down.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to tell you what we got a world.

[SPEAKER_00]: of the evil spirits running a mock around us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be careful to door open in your life that the demonic forces can come in and they can.

[SPEAKER_00]: They can come in to sin or whatsoever, maybe the case.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be careful.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there's only one that can take care of these problems.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ only.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, sin is what lets demons in and I think now it's time to talk about the opposite side how we had to explain that there's two extremes.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's either some that believe in demons a little bit too much and go on a rampage of just studying them and then there's some that don't believe in them at all or they don't really understand and it's like a all that doesn't exist or that was a time of the past.

[SPEAKER_01]: and i think it's time to talk about that because a lot of Christians don't understand that sin can allow demonic forces in you know as i had said i grew up southern baptist and they just didn't talk about it they didn't talk about spiritual warfare at all and you know it's a big problem in the religious world is that they grieve the holy spirit and the spiritual side of things it's real

[SPEAKER_01]: And there's so many people that truly try to hold back the spiritual side.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just want to fleshly side.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just want this neat, polished religion.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they don't want anything to do with the spiritual.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not biblical at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you read the Bible and you see that spiritual side is real, you see that the Holy Spirit's real.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why would you believe the Holy Spirit's real, but not other spirits?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: you know there's so many people that just they want to ignore the spiritual side because they think well if I turn a blind eye to it then I can stick my head in the sand and nothing can happen but that's not true there's so many people in religion that don't believe in demons or if they do they don't take it seriously they don't understand how to fight them they don't understand anything about them they literally skip over in their bibles they stay to the

[SPEAKER_01]: the the morning devotionals and and happiness gospel and then when times of trouble comes in their life or people around them are really struggling they can't help them because they're so excuse me for this ignorant of knowing about demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I truly, and I say that I love because I was the same way.

[SPEAKER_01]: I grew up Southern Baptist, like I said, my grandpa was a preacher.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't talk about demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then when things started happening to me in life and I was struggling and I was hurt and, you know, I was like 14, 15 years old and just not wanting to live and all these things come in and you don't know how to fight them because you're not taught.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's why it's so important for us to sit down, do these discipleship lessons, and to constantly try to teach, like, hey, here's the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's all here, apply it because if you don't apply it to your life and you don't understand spiritual things, then how are you going to fight spiritual warfare at all?

[SPEAKER_01]: So knowing how to fight demons is so important for you, for your family, for your friends, for strangers around you.

[SPEAKER_01]: God needs you in this battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't try to stick your head in the sand and get out of it because it's not like you're going to be invisible to the demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: Take your room with her.

[SPEAKER_00]: you know so many even Christian people today to stay away from the money forces they need to continue the study and walk in the spirit and that will help you have a discerning and a whole lot of times that we look at other people's lives instead of our own and but when we walk in the spirit that means give your whole thoughts your walk and

[SPEAKER_00]: your intent and everything to the Holy Spirit and when you do that and you walk in the spirit of God, then He will lead you and guide you every step of the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Study the word of God, study the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: So many Christians don't don't believe how I'm trying to say this.

[SPEAKER_00]: how an able spirit can come in.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you open the door, when you embrace and stand in your life or whatsoever, you're open in the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you any environment, any involvement, any occult,

[SPEAKER_00]: the new age saying you're open in a door.

[SPEAKER_00]: Weegee boards open doors.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's just a game to a lot of people, but you're open in door to modern demonic forces, harboring bitterness, anger, unforgiveness.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're opening in the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus, when he said, if you come as humble as a little child,

[SPEAKER_00]: for such as a kingdom of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you what, when a Christian harbored bitterness, envy, and jealousy, they've opened the door to demonic forces in their life because they'd take them down a dark path.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ungodly ties through sexual sins or abusive relationship, or whatever may be the case, you're open indoors.

[SPEAKER_00]: and therefore this only Jesus Christ can help you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard so many people that have bitterness towards a brother or sister for years and years and years and years and they've lost all those years in their life with their family because they had opened this door but when they come together and forgive one another.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is very reason that we need to study the Word of God, stay in it, and read the Word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when you read it, look at yourself because it is a mirror for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not the other person.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a mirror for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when we look at that mirror and say, My goodness, that is me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have unforgiveness.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have bitterness.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I have this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I have that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, on this time to repent.

[SPEAKER_00]: and that's the Lord to forgive you of your sins and get away from that demonic force that is keeping you there, but there's only one person can do it, that's Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, keep the door closed.

[SPEAKER_00]: keep the doors closed and it's very easily for people to get hurt.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very easily for people have unforgiveness.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very easily for people to have envy, jealousy or whatever may be the case, but the monic forces is real and they will take over your life if you let them.

[SPEAKER_00]: So keep the door close and if there's anything in there you go to Jesus Christ because he's the only one.

[SPEAKER_00]: that can give you a heart of blood.

[SPEAKER_00]: Take it old black heart out there and give you a heart as white and as the snow is at first snow.

[SPEAKER_00]: But how much do you want clothes and doors on all this stuff?

[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll have no place.

[SPEAKER_00]: There would be no place for any demonic forces to come in your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know another thing I thought about that people skip over in the Bible is how Paul explains that he has a messenger of Satan that was sent to torment him.

[SPEAKER_00]: as a demon.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a devil.

[SPEAKER_01]: Demons or devils.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's the same thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: A devil is a demon.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a demonic force from the enemy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in the instance, when I'm speaking of Paul says that he is sent a messenger of Satan and it's to buff it him.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's to keep him humble.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he asked for Jesus to take this demon away from him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's so important to see too because this is an

[SPEAKER_01]: Paul was a servant of the most high.

[SPEAKER_01]: Paul was a servant of Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was all in the right walk.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there was yet something in his life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we don't know what it was or why it came in.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there was a demonic force that was sent there to hinder him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he explains that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says, this is sent here to hinder me.

[SPEAKER_01]: And his a thorn in his side.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he explains this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you can see it throughout his walk.

[SPEAKER_01]: Paul is persecuted severely.

[SPEAKER_01]: He really is, I mean he is beaten all the time, he is shipwreck, he is thrown in prison, his back was whipped open so bad he almost died, he did, I mean he literally was stolen the death and then came back like there was so much that happened to Paul and yet he's explaining it to us, he's not explaining it to you just so you can read his life and have sympathy for him, that's not it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's explaining it so that you can understand spiritual warfare and what was happening to this man of God and So for people to think that demonic forces can't bother them that they are just Shielded and protected and nothing can ever come at them and spiritual warfare can never happen to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's pride

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, even Paul, like I said, he is a humble servant of the most high.

[SPEAKER_01]: He lives his life in obedience and direct, you know, servitude to Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And yet here he is crying out saying, take this from me.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is a messenger of Satan that is sent here to hinder me.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's recognizing what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's saying, wait a minute, this ain't right.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is a messenger of Satan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get away from me, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so important that you see these instances, it's so important that you read about Jesus when Jesus was tempted by Satan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Satan tempts him three times with things that he needed, like things that, well, first thing was bread.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was hungry.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was fasting and Satan comes in and says,

[SPEAKER_01]: You can turn this stone into bread like that is a temptation that Jesus rebuked and he literally says man can't live by bread alone, but by the word of God And so that's how we fight it too every time that you see in scripture of of Jesus You know, he had three times there.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're Satan tried to tempt him and every time he shut him down with scripture

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's so important for you to know Scripture, it's so important for you to be in the Word.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you can see the walk of Jesus and so that you can learn from Him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Paul says, imitate me like I am a take price.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's shown us in this example.

[SPEAKER_01]: He learned from Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now we need to learn from Him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like the Bible teaches us, Paul taught us in the Bible, Jesus teaches us constantly and explains to you what to do when spiritual warfare happens, what to do with demonic forces and how to fight demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you can't fight if you don't pick up your swords.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just sit there unarmed and expect God to shield you all the time, but you just you sit beside your sword and you don't pick it up.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so important for you to have the Word of God engraved in you and that you can understand it so that you can fight spiritual warfare and win.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell you what would Jesus Christ, all things are possible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Satan cannot throw anything at you what Jesus came to feet.

[SPEAKER_00]: When he nailed our sins to the cross and he bowed his head and said, it's finished, he had to do nothing else, nothing else.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he overcame death hell in the grave.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore, he's an overcomer.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's done one this war, we're just fighting a battle.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're just fighting a battle and it is a battle.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a battle every day of our lives.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now listen, I told my background on how I went to church and I didn't believe in demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: You preached for 27 years and you taught on demons, but it was a long time before you saw one or cast one out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I would love for people to hear that story because it's so powerful because it just goes to show number one your humility.

[SPEAKER_01]: But number two, that God can teach you at any time in your life of what to do and how to do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And at this point, you know, Jesus taught you, hey,

[SPEAKER_01]: It's time for you to cast out demons, Elwood, and so talk about some of the first times that you've seen demons, and really realize, hey, this is real.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is real.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did not believe in demons whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't make me believe in demons.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was saved.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I did.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know people have left me and they've scorned me and everything else, but you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: They're real.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're real.

[SPEAKER_00]: For an instant, God let me see in the spiritual room.

[SPEAKER_00]: Same way that God let the young man with Elijah look upon the healed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when the Syrian army had camped out around the city there, and he said, there's no way out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Elijah said, God, open his eyes, and he looked upon the healed and says, there's more of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there is a spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see the church apart.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: And God can open your eyes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cannot make me believe that there is no demon.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know that this is a crazy to a lot of people out there But they are real.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're nasty.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're bugger looking and I'm telling you what you don't want to see them You do not want to see them and the real and here they are here to inhabit people's lives to destroy their lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did not believe in them

[SPEAKER_00]: but I'll go to my grave, knowing better, knowing better because I know what I've seen, and I know what I've experienced.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now you see them in the water and you see them at revivals and you see them and you can help people because you've got your sword and the power and authority in Jesus, you're walking in it and you're talking in it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know it's gotten to the point now and I know that you don't like this per se but it's gotten to the point where you walk up to somebody and start praying over them and they either manifest or fall down and that's not anything to do with you, it's to do with the power and authority that you're now walking in because you've allowed the Lord to really just the Holy Spirit just take over.

[SPEAKER_01]: and now whenever we're praying over people and we're ministering to people like that's we're just literally ministering to people sometimes and just touching and as soon as it's just the power of God just washes over them and we're seeing that happen more and more and someone's delivered in an instant I mean there's you know I've walked up to people constantly now and just it takes two seconds and all of a sudden they're either manifesting crying, shaking like there's something happening and it's like well I didn't do anything I just walked

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's the love of Christ in you, it's the power and authority of Jesus in you, these demons are trembling because they know what you're walking in and they're looking at you and they're here, they come, you know, they're going to cast me out and so that's reacting with in them and it's real.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we're seeing it happen time and time and time and time again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_01]: And

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's the thing is, is some people that don't have eyes to see, and they haven't seen it yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's, that's fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: They may think that it's wild.

[SPEAKER_01]: They may think it ain't real.

[SPEAKER_01]: But one day, they're going to be face to face with somebody that's manifesting, and they won't know what to do, and then it'll be like, you know what, this might be real.

[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes people see people that's manifesting, and they don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the first time I ever saw someone manifesting, I didn't know what it was.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had someone, they were standing in front of me, their eyes turned black.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know what to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had no power in authority.

[SPEAKER_01]: I literally was just myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you start learning the power and authority of Jesus and walking in it, those things don't scare you.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't scare me.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're in a demon-owned hill or earth that scares me because I know the power and authority I'll walk in.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I know who I serve.

[SPEAKER_01]: And who I serve is much greater than anything.

[SPEAKER_01]: in the world, anything in hell, anything around.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's the power and authority of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when you start walking in it, then it's recognized, not only in the physical realm, but in the spiritual realm.

[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I know demons no money.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't say that vocally.

[SPEAKER_01]: I say that because I know when I'm faced with them, they know who I serve.

[SPEAKER_01]: I served Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ is my master.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is my Savior.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is my Lord and that is apparent.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when I'm walking somewhere and I'm ministering or praying or baptizing or whatever we're doing, demons ain't allowed.

[SPEAKER_01]: They ain't allowed.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are out in Jesus Christ name.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's a...

[SPEAKER_01]: it if only the whole church world could understand their real power and authority in Christ man there's so many people that would benefit from being obtained with with freedom and being able to walk in their freedom and being able to keep that freedom in Jesus' name but it's unfortunate because so many people don't want to learn they don't want to walk in the power and authority because it does come out of price of sanctification of obedience,

[SPEAKER_01]: man, I would never go back to the world of being scared of anything ever again because it's so amazing to walk, so closely with Jesus that you know His power and authority, you know who He is.

[SPEAKER_00]: And absolutely, when you know the power and authority of Christ, it is your life, then you don't fear no man.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't fear no demon.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you what, if we could only see in the spiritual rim in the grocery store, walk in the church, you know, unclean spirits that is there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's only only through Jesus Christ that we have the authority that we have to be able to cast these things out.

[SPEAKER_00]: and we've seen too much to turn back.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen too many people set free from the bondage of Satan and that's exactly what he wants to do, put us in bondage and put people in bondage.

[SPEAKER_00]: But through Jesus Christ he is a chainbreaker, he is a deliverer and he has come to deliver people of this world that they would just accept him and

[SPEAKER_00]: as a Lord in Savior, and he could set them free, set them free, and I'll tell you what, once you're set free, there's nothing like it, there's nothing like it, but just relapse on Christ, relapse on Christ, and stay out the demon territory, stay out of the bitterness and hatred and envy and strife and all that stuff, and don't open up the doors to let him in, the

[SPEAKER_00]: because he'll drown you if he possibly can.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so my advice to everybody that I can tell is get as much as Jesus Christ as you can get in him.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's much love.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get as much as his compassion and look to him for everything in your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the disciples had to learn, and even in their period of learning this time, their following Jesus, they have seen the mighty works of Jesus, and he starts sending them out to go out and do the same works as he's doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's sending them out to go and cast out demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a time where there's a father who brings his son to Jesus, and he says, your disciples try to cast the demon out, but he couldn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: and so I'm bringing him to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is such an important instance in scripture for a lot of teaching reasons that you can learn upon this one scripture.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to narrow in on the example here of so many people not understanding why the the disciple couldn't cast out that demon.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not that that demon was stronger than

[SPEAKER_01]: We literally saw earlier in Scripture where Jesus is faced with a legion and he taught his disciples how to cast out the worst of the worst.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's not that this demon was more powerful than that disciple.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the dad explains this too.

[SPEAKER_01]: The dad is standing in front of Jesus and he says, help my unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's explaining that there is a hesitation.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is an unbelief there that this demon is got a stronghold through.

[SPEAKER_01]: like there's an unbelief there that this is a doorway where this demon is staying and so the father confesses that to Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says, help my unbelief and then Jesus has sympathy upon him in that instance and helps him with his unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so this spirit that was traumatizing this boy,

[SPEAKER_01]: And so bad that it's trying to take his life.

[SPEAKER_01]: It tries to throw him in the fire.

[SPEAKER_01]: It tries to drown him.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is real.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a real instance in this people's lives.

[SPEAKER_01]: This father is desperate.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's bringing this son here saying, hey, you're disciple couldn't cast this demon out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Huge teaching moment, like I said, because why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Number one unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, Jesus says this kind doesn't come out, but by prayer and fasting.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't tell his disciples.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now you need to go study the demons because you didn't recognize this demon to cast it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, he says this con comes out by prayer and fasting, learn how to pray and fast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Learn how to be more in your spirit than in your flesh because that was the problem here.

[SPEAKER_01]: The problem was that those disciples were in their flesh.

[SPEAKER_01]: They saw the father's unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you think that affected them?

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you think, whenever this father, maybe he was mocking, maybe he was saying, well, there can't be nothing done, or maybe just his presence of unbelief being there through the disciples off, and they immediately started having discouragement, fear, doubts, and all of that came in, and triumphed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so instead of them walking in the power and authority of Jesus, they now had doubt and unbelief.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the unbelief was what couldn't cast out the demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so Jesus literally teaches them in that moment and says prayer and fasting.

[SPEAKER_01]: You go and die to your flesh because that's what fasting does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Fasting shows you how to die to your flesh and become more in your spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he's teaching his disciples in that moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: You go now and you learn how to be more in your spirit than your flesh because you just let your flesh slip in.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was what happened in this moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I perceive from this, you know,

[SPEAKER_01]: Scripture, that's what I have perceived from it is that it's not that the disciple was less than powerful and it's not that the demon was more than powerful.

[SPEAKER_01]: The problem was unbelief and a fleshly battle versus spiritual.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so Jesus taught them in that moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hey!

[SPEAKER_01]: you need to go pray and fast.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when you do, you'll be able to cast that demon out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think it's important to just really study these moments, studying that self-approved is what brings you into this knowledge and understanding of how to cast out these demons and how to have no fear in doing it and no unbelief.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jesus said all things as possible to them that believe.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where the man said, help my unbelief.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Help my unbelief.

[SPEAKER_00]: Belief is a powerful thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a powerful thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just telling you what, with Jesus Christ, there is nothing impossible with him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not by our power or their power is by the power of Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are just a, I've said so many times just a conduit that Christ works through us to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you keep that conduit, don't let it get clogged up like a water pipe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just keep it open, keep the spirit of God moving in your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And keep studying your Bible, meditating, and keep looking to Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: And make sure that everything is clean in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure that everything is under the blood, under the blood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bottom line here, don't be more hungry to learn about demons than you are Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you learn about Jesus, then you will learn how to fight all spiritual warfare, all demons are under your feet in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you seek Jesus, then all the other stuff comes with it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The world, the spiritual world is open to you and you are able to see, you are able to have discernment now, you are able to cast out demons, heal the sick, and walk in power and authority in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not found by searching demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is found by searching Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you search for Jesus, then all the other stuff comes in line too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get in your word, understand it, read about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, one thing I did when I...

[SPEAKER_01]: First started being opened up to the spiritual realm and realizing demons were real is that I looked up on my phone And I just googled it and I said show me all the scriptures of demons and then I took all those scriptures And I took them to the Bible and I studied them all and I was able to see the instances where Jesus and the disciples and the apostles cast out demons and how they did it and that truth right there

[SPEAKER_01]: that's all you need.

[SPEAKER_01]: All you need is to learn from Jesus and what He left as an example for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Word of God is there.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is there for you anytime that you need it anytime you want to study it, but it's up to you to study.

[SPEAKER_01]: Study that self-approved.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to know about demons, know about Jesus first.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
