Shalom and a blessed morning to you all our wonderful listeners.
-
This is Harvest Chapel International Komase coming to you live
-
with our morning glory devotion broadcast. Facilitating this morning glory's
-
devotion is Pastor Benjamin Brismith and I believe that as
-
we look into the word of God together, we shall
-
be changed from glory into glory. Amen. Shall we share
-
a word of prayer? Father, in the name of Jesus,
-
we thank you for the privilege and the honor to
-
look into your word once again. We pray, O God,
-
that as we hear your word, as we listen to
-
your word, your word shall impart life into our hearts.
-
Your word, O God, shall be a blessing to us
-
as we step out there today. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
-
Let us take our confession together from Joshua 1, verse 8.
-
Joshua 1 verse 8 This book of the law shall
-
not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate
-
in it day and night, that I may observe to
-
do according to all that is written in it. For
-
then I will make my way prosperous, and then I
-
will have good success. Amen. Beloved, the theme for today's
-
devotion is Take a Step of Faith. take a step
-
of faith and our text will be taken from Matthew
-
chapter 14 verse 22 to 33. Matthew chapter 14 verses
-
22 to 33 and I'll be reading from the NIV version.
-
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and
-
go on ahead of him to the other side while
-
he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he
-
went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later
-
that night, he was there alone, and the boat was
-
already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves
-
because the wind was against it. Shortly before dawn, Jesus
-
went out to them walking on the lake. When the
-
disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified.
-
It's a ghost, they said and cried out in fear.
-
But Jesus immediately said to them, Take courage, it is I.
-
Don't be afraid. Lord, if it's you, Peter replied, tell
-
me to come to you underwater.' Come,' he said. Then
-
Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water,
-
and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind,
-
he was afraid and beginning to sink, cried out,' Lord,
-
save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.'
-
You of little faith,' he said,' why did you doubt?'
-
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
-
Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying,
-
Truly you are the Son of God. Beloved, here ends
-
the reading of the word of the Lord. Thanks be
-
to God. Take a step of faith. Beloved, if we
-
were to act on the knowledge that we have received
-
and respond to what has been sold in our life
-
so far, we would be so surprised at the turn
-
of events in our life. We are expected to step
-
out in faith when we hear the word of God.
-
We are supposed to take God at his word and
-
be bold to live out the things that we hear
-
from God. God is a big God and he is
-
set apart from all the other gods. His ways are
-
not our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
-
The things that he requests of us are usually opposed
-
to the status quo and the normal way of doing things. Hence,
-
sometimes it becomes a challenge and very daunting for us
-
to do. But yet still, He wants us to trust
-
Him as a loving Father to lead us on the
-
right path to a glorious end. When we read the Bible,
-
we are exposed to amazing truths and blessings reserved for
-
the child of God to enjoy here on earth. But
-
until we arise and take a step, we will end
-
up not seeing any change in our lives. Until we
-
arise in courage and boldness and take God at his word,
-
nothing is going to change in our lives. For us
-
to enjoy the over 7,000 promises that God has declared
-
in His Word, as well as those that He has
-
spoken to us individually during our devotional times and His
-
declarations through our pastors, we must accept His Word as
-
true and respond appropriately. In our Bible reading, we hear
-
about how Peter walked on water. When Peter saw Jesus
-
walking on the water, a desire was stirred up in
-
his heart. He wanted to do same and at the
-
command of the master, he did not stay in the
-
boat but took a step of faith. In taking that
-
step of faith, he saw the manifestation of the word
-
of God in his life. Beloved, I do not know
-
what you have been asking or believing God for. and
-
I do not know what God has said concerning your life.
-
But if only you would take a step based on
-
the word and instructions of God, you shall see a
-
manifestation of what He has said concerning your life. Can
-
you take a record of how long you have been
-
reading and listening to the word of God? Can you
-
take stock of every sermon that you have listened to
-
in church or on your own? Can you recollect the
-
number of verses that you have read from the Bible?
-
It is a good thing to read and listen to
-
the word of God daily, but it must not end there.
-
We must reflect on what we have done so far
-
with the revelation, knowledge and truth that we have been
-
exposed to in the word. It is time to rise up.
-
It is time to act on that dream and instruction
-
from God. Do not let anything hold you back. We
-
have been in our comfort zones for too long. Let
-
us step out there in faith and activate His rich
-
promises to us and all that concerns us in the
-
mighty name of Jesus. Amen. God richly bless you. Let
-
us take our memory verse from James chapter 2 verse 26.
-
I'll read from the ISV. James chapter 2 verse 26.
-
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so
-
faith without works is dead also. I take it again.
-
James chapter 2 verse 26. For as the body without
-
the spirit is dead, So faith without works is dead also.
-
Let's share a word of prayer. Father, we thank you
-
for your word that has come to us. We pray,
-
O God, that you will endue us with the strength,
-
the courage and boldness, O God, to act upon your word.
-
That when you speak, O God, we shall take a
-
bold step in the name of Jesus. Grant us the
-
grace to step out of our comfort zones and to
-
act on your word. In Jesus' mighty name we pray
-
with thanksgiving. Amen. God richly bless you for staying tuned.
