  1. As we take communion today, we just want to honor the Lord for the price that he paid for our salvation and for our freedom.

  2. Just reading from Corinthians at chapter 11.

  3. For I have received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was betrayed, he took bread.

  4. And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body which is for you.

  5. Do this in remembrance of me.

  6. In the same way he took the cup also after supper, saying, This cup is my new covenant in the blood.

  7. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me.

  8. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

  9. This is referring to Jesus' death on the cross.

  10. Actually, the cross is the central theme of the whole of the Bible.

  11. The Old Testament people, the Old Testament prophets look forward to the coming of Jesus.

  12. And then the New Testament look back to the cu to where Jesus came.

  13. And not only that, all of history, not only that, all of history, uh this is the central theme of all of history, the coming of Jesus.

  14. Because in the Old Testament or the ancient time, they lived in the time of Besi, which means before Christ.

  15. And now we live in the time of Aide, which means after Christ.

  16. Meaning that in the central that that Jesus that was the cross, the coming of Jesus on the cross was the center of all of time and all of history.

  17. Then at the appointed time, Jesus came as the Lamb of God.

  18. He came as a teacher and as a prophet, but he came primarily, I believe, as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world.

  19. For he who knew no sin became sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God.

  20. So when we give our hearts to the Lord, we're actually born again.

  21. We're born into the kingdom of God.

  22. And Jesus becomes our Lord and our Savior, and God becomes our Father.

  23. So what can we say to all this?

  24. I mean, what can we say to all of this?

  25. That the price that Jesus paid on the cross for our salvation, for our freedom.

  26. In fact, the Bible says he has drawn us out of darkness and into his glorious light.

  27. If you were to think about that for a while, if you were to think about that for quite some time, you'd be overwhelmed.

  28. We become overwhelmed when we realize that Jesus has drawn us out of darkness into his glorious light.

  29. And the Lord has given me two responses.

  30. What can we say to all of this?

  31. The Lord has given me two responses.

  32. The first one is thank we to thank the Lord.

  33. Thank you, Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you.

  34. Because we could never thank the Lord enough.

  35. We could never thank the Lord enough.

  36. That's part of our worship, is thanking the Lord.

  37. The second one is that we can lay down our hearts.

  38. We can lay down our hearts before the Lord, not hiding anything, but simply laying it down before the Lord, that he might have his way in our hearts and in our lives.

  39. So this is just as we take communion, but also as we as we live our lives, we can apply those two things.

  40. We could never thank the Lord enough, and we can lay our constantly lay our hearts down that the Lord would have his way in our hearts and in our lives that we might bear fruit that will remain, that the Father be glorified.

  41. So we thank you, Lord, now in Jesus' name.
