Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. The way we respond to the things of
-
God and to the things of the Spirit is subject
-
to the level of revelation we have about God.
-
So sometimes when you see yourself not responding
-
well to the things of the Spirit or to the things
-
that pertain to life and godliness, you should
-
begin to perceive that you need to pay attention
-
to the words that you have received. That those
-
words, that you receive them as revelation, that
-
you get into the revelation of every teaching
-
that you have received. That our attitude towards
-
God our attitude towards the things of God, our
-
attitude towards prayer, our attitude towards
-
studying the Word, tells us how much, I would
-
say, it has become dawn on us who God is and
-
what the Word of God is and what Christ did and
-
what we have in Christ and what we can do and
-
what is to come for us. Let's have our seats.
-
This morning, the teaching is the revelation
-
knowledge in Christ. Okay, it's revelation knowledge
-
in Christ. The revelation knowledge in Christ.
-
Now, from believers' meeting or believers' conference
-
that we had, we taught many things about, you
-
know, apologetics and... How we can become ready
-
to give an answer for everyone who asks us, you
-
know, the reason why we believe what and whom
-
we have believed, right? So we talk about the
-
reasons. We try to prepare us, right, to be people
-
who are bold enough to answer questions when
-
it comes to responding to other people. Who claim
-
to name the name of the Lord? Are we together?
-
So, that was what we did in Karatismos. And we
-
talked about different belief systems and we
-
tried to correct some things about them. But
-
I realized that there is a level of revelation
-
knowledge that we will have. That even with the
-
little knowledge of God that you have, you know,
-
I call it little, you will be bold to give an
-
answer for those who come around you to ask you
-
about your faith. You see, revelational knowledge
-
gives us the boldness, right, to be able to stand
-
and give an answer. concerning our faith in Christ.
-
It gives us the boldness to be able to give an
-
answer concerning why we believe what we believe.
-
Now, apart from evangelism and apologia, one
-
of the things that revelational knowledge does
-
to us is it's I don't know how to describe it.
-
It just gives you this, it gives you zeal. Zeal
-
and passion for the things of God. Right? When
-
you get into the revelation and when it becomes
-
what is being preached to you, when the revelation
-
is open to you, it gives you zeal and passion
-
for God. Like you don't struggle to do the things
-
of God. Like you don't struggle to do the things
-
of God. You don't struggle to understand who
-
God is. You don't struggle to understand what
-
you have. In fact, when circumstances arise in
-
your life, because of the revelational knowledge
-
of Christ that you have, are we together? When
-
circumstances arise, because of the revelational
-
knowledge that you have, It is easy or easier
-
to go through circumstances. So you might be
-
passing through a lot, but people will not perceive
-
it because you are working in the revelational
-
knowledge of God because you know who God is.
-
So you might be passing through circumstances,
-
but the depth of God's revelation He said that
-
we will know the love of God that passes all
-
human understanding. When you understand the
-
depths, you know, it's not emotional love. When
-
we talk about the love of God, it's not emotional.
-
It's not this love that goes and comes. This
-
love that is unstable. Today, you like the person.
-
Tomorrow, the person might provoke you and you
-
would question, why did I love the person in
-
the first place? Because that is the love of
-
human. But when it comes to the revelational
-
knowledge of God as pertaining the love of God,
-
it is consistent, unchanging. It is stable. So
-
what does such knowledge does to you? Such knowledge
-
keeps you stable in circumstances. Right? It
-
keeps you stable in circumstances. It keeps you
-
very much stable. In circumstances. Because the
-
revelational knowledge of God itself is consistent.
-
Right? Today I'm just laying a foundation of
-
what we are going to go through or what we are
-
going to go with or to be taught in the next
-
two weeks. So, when the revelation helps you
-
to be stable because the revelational knowledge
-
of God, it is consistent. It's consistent. So
-
it means that the believer will become unshakable.
-
So I have a brother in church and the brother
-
offends me, right? In my heart, I might begin
-
to doubt. Do I really love this brother? Or should
-
this brother even come close to me? Right? So
-
you doubt, you know, your expression of love.
-
You begin to question it. But when you remember
-
the depths of God's love, what do you do? You
-
forgive. You let offense to pass. You rejoice.
-
You encourage the brother. You tell the brother
-
he's authentic. You bring him back. So, the revelation
-
knowledge is beyond, right, how we feel, how
-
the excitement goes, but is deeper. Now, in regards
-
to evangelism, it gives you the zeal to tell
-
someone about Jesus because over time, right,
-
and some of us that have gone out to, you know,
-
preach, you would see a believer, right? When
-
you're preaching to some believers, you would
-
wonder, your name is, maybe your name is John,
-
and the person is asking you and trying to tell
-
you to explain the resurrection of Jesus. Now,
-
it's not that they don't know the story. They
-
can tell you the story. They can tell you how
-
Jesus was crucified, how he rose again, how he
-
appeared to his disciples. But they will tell
-
you to recount it like they don't even understand.
-
In fact, they don't understand it. It means that
-
while they know that information, the revelation
-
of that knowledge is yet to appear to them. Now,
-
I think it was me and Bra Prince that went to
-
speak to a guy. The guy is Muslim, right? And
-
we're speaking to him. And the guy seems to have
-
here and there, here and there, here and there
-
information about the Christian faith. And do
-
you know what the guy told us? Right? The impression
-
I got from the guy is that some believers don't
-
even have this information. He does not believe
-
it. He does not agree with it, but because I
-
think in their scriptures, it's written that
-
they should seek knowledge. So in the course
-
of seeking knowledge, he encountered that knowledge.
-
So he knows he could explain, right? Of course,
-
he had some places where he's putting a question
-
mark and we're trying to explain to him, you
-
know, that question mark, we can help you remove
-
it because there's an explanation to it. But
-
the consistent thing in the statement is that
-
I have not come into the revelation of this,
-
so I can't accept it. Right? That was what he
-
was saying. And consistently we meet people and
-
they just show that the depth of the revelation
-
of Christ is yet to be established in them. And
-
when I mean people, I mean believers. So as believers,
-
we must be so strong in the revelation of Christ.
-
We must be so strong. We must be so rich in the
-
revelation of Christ. You should have abundance.
-
Right? of scriptures that you can explain. You
-
know, you cannot just stay at John 3 .16. That's
-
not good enough. In fact, you cannot be there
-
because in John 3 .16, you will not be able to
-
encapsulate all that the scriptures has talked
-
about. So it should push a zeal for you that
-
when pastor teaches something here, right, you
-
are writing it down, going back home to study.
-
You are hearing a sermon, you don't understand,
-
you write it down, you go back home to study.
-
Let it always trigger something in you. Don't
-
let any knowledge of Christ pass you by. Let
-
me say that again. Don't let any knowledge about
-
Christ pass you by. It means that be zealous
-
to receive the knowledge that you might walk
-
in revelation. Now, I'm just saying all of these
-
to tell us the importance of revelational knowledge,
-
right? The revelational knowledge in Christ,
-
the importance is so enormous in every area of
-
our lives. But we teach it, right, with regards
-
to interpretation of Scripture and other things.
-
So let's open our Scriptures. Let's open our
-
Scriptures. 2 Timothy 3, 15. 2 Timothy 3, 15.
-
It said, and that from childhood, you have known
-
the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you
-
wise for salvation, true faith, which is in Christ
-
Jesus. The next verse. All Scripture is given
-
by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine,
-
for reproof, for correction, for instruction
-
in righteousness. That a man of God may be complete,
-
thoroughly equipped for every good work. That
-
a man of God is ready and thoroughly equipped
-
for every good work. So let's start from this
-
scripture. Because from this scripture, we would
-
also understand the importance of the revelation
-
knowledge in Christ. So let's start. Now he said,
-
from a childhood thou hast known the Holy Scripture.
-
Now that word, Holy Scripture, right? Because
-
we know, some of us know it, is hero's grammar.
-
And I'm going to explain it, right? I'm going
-
to explain, take a little bit of time to explain
-
it. Hero's grammar. Which involves the letters,
-
the phrases and statements. The letters, the
-
phrases, and statements that are sacred. Letters,
-
phrases, and statements that are sacred. Letter,
-
phrases, statements that are sacred. So, from
-
a child of doubt known the Holy Scriptures. The
-
word Holy Scriptures there is Heroes Grammar,
-
which is H -I -E -R -O -S. Then grammar, G -R
-
-A -M -M -A. The word holy scriptures there.
-
H -I -E -R -O -S. That's holy. Then grammar,
-
which is the scriptures, G -R -A -M -M -A. The
-
letters, phrases, and statements that are sacred.
-
Okay? That are sacred. So what does this reflect?
-
Because Paul was writing to Timothy, right? Will
-
you be expecting Timothy to have this kind of
-
a Bible? Please look up. Will Timothy be carrying
-
this kind of a scripture? No, right? It's impossible.
-
He won't be carrying this. It means that he will
-
be carrying probably scrolls, writings of the
-
whole Testament, right? Timothy will be carrying
-
scrolls. So it means that those writings, Timothy
-
is, here he says, known the scriptures. Right?
-
Timothy knows those writings. He knows those
-
letters. He knows those statements from the Scriptures.
-
Are we together? So, Timothy knows those scrolls.
-
It's like saying Timothy knows the scrolls. He
-
knows Isaiah. He knows those writings. Right?
-
He knows those statements. Okay? So, Timothy
-
will not have a Bible like this. He'll have scrolls.
-
And the word to know the Scriptures in that statement
-
is Eido. E -I -D -O. You can write it down. The
-
word to know. Right? The word to know. The word
-
to know, the scriptures, is the word Eido. And
-
it is, it has some meaning, right? E -I -D -O.
-
That was known, the scriptures. And it has some
-
meaning. It means that he is well acquainted
-
with the scriptures. Right? So, Those scriptures
-
are not strange to him, right? The Bible or in
-
its terms, the scrolls are not strange to Timothy.
-
So he's well acquainted to these writings, to
-
these scriptures. He has read them. He knows
-
them. He can explain them. He knows the scriptures.
-
So when they read Isaiah, he can know this is
-
Isaiah. He can know this is the scripture. So
-
he's well acquainted to... the scriptures. Now,
-
that knowing is also related to skill. So it
-
means that he has been examined. A skill of examination
-
means checking the scriptures, checking the scrolls.
-
So we can see that Timothy is someone that checks
-
those scriptures, those writings. Right? The
-
skill of examining, exploring the scriptures.
-
So Timothy is someone that carries those materials
-
and examines them. And we say that those materials
-
are holy scriptures, sacred writings, phrases,
-
and statements. Now, most of us are at this level,
-
okay? Most of us, you read the Bible, you know
-
the scriptures, you can quote. Some of us, when
-
we were young, you go for Bible competition,
-
right? And, you know, they call you out, you
-
read a book, they ask you who did this, this,
-
this. So you know the storyline, right? You know.
-
Every part of the storyline. And you can answer
-
questions. You do Bible sword. You are the first
-
to open it. And all of that. Now, look at what
-
it said following that. That you have known the
-
scriptures. The holy scriptures. It says, which
-
are able to make thee wise. Now, it means that
-
those scriptures can make him wise. Now, that
-
word wise is so feasible. Which, of course, we
-
have taught before. So it involves, the word
-
wise, isophizo. S -O -P -H -I -Z -O. Means to
-
skillfully teach. Right? To skillfully teach.
-
To skillfully teach. So which are able to make
-
thee wise? So if we say wise is to skillfully
-
teach, right? To be grounded, to be able to explain.
-
That's the part of it. To be able to explain.
-
Explain what? Explain salvation. So it means
-
that from those scrolls, Timothy can pack them,
-
right? And teach salvation from them. From those
-
letters, from those writings. So it's not just
-
going to pick only one scroll, right? It's going
-
to pick a series of them across them in those
-
writings. And then it would skillfully teach
-
salvation. Are we together? So the question you
-
ask yourself is, can I do that? So that's the
-
first question you ask yourself. Can I pick the
-
Bible and across the scriptures sufficiently?
-
teach salvation or I will be stuck in the John
-
3 system. Right? So, that's the question we begin
-
to ask ourselves. Why? Because in the going through
-
of those scriptures is revelation. The going
-
through of those scrolls, all of those scrolls
-
is revelation. It means that you cannot stay
-
in one scripture and expect yourself to grow.
-
To grow, you must be well acquainted with the
-
scriptures and you must be able to teach salvation
-
to start with, right? You must be able to teach
-
salvation from the scriptures. So salvation and
-
not just anyhow salvation because there are different
-
salvations, right? There are different salvations.
-
If you go out there, there are many salvations.
-
Salvation by giving, right? If you give, you'll
-
be saved. Salvation by cleansing. Washing your
-
face, washing your hand. If you do that, you
-
will be saved. Salvation by visiting some holy
-
lands. If you do that, you will be saved. Right?
-
There are different kinds of what? Of salvation.
-
So the salvation that you must seek is that one
-
that comes through faith in Christ Jesus. And
-
that's the revelation of it. So, Come back. It
-
means that Timothy would read the scriptures
-
of the Old Testament and teach salvation in Christ,
-
true faith in Christ, right? Do you know what
-
that means? That is revelation. That is revelation,
-
right? So, he would pick scriptures where the
-
name Jesus Christ is not written. But the Messiah
-
is identified. And it will from there bring us
-
to point to Christ that He is the Messiah. If
-
you believe in Him, you have eternal life. So
-
that means that you must be very, very wise.
-
Which is to be able to skillfully teach Christ
-
from the Old Testament. Now, it's not just salvation
-
alone. But here the context says what? Salvation,
-
right? It's not just salvation alone. Any doctrine,
-
we're going to see that in the next verse 16.
-
Any doctrine is established much more from the
-
Holy Scriptures, from these writings. Right?
-
From these writings. So you should be able to
-
teach everything that pertains to Christ. And
-
it's salvation, the love of God, right? Giving
-
service. To serve in the church. You should be
-
able to teach that from the Holy Scriptures.
-
Maybe we should teach that so that we can have
-
more zeal and more passion for the things of
-
God. And you can see it consistently across the
-
Scriptures. Now go to verse 16. So salvation
-
through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Salvation
-
through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Now this
-
statement, salvation through faith which is in
-
Christ Jesus, you will not find it anywhere in...
-
The Old Testament. But it is across the scripture.
-
So you have to carefully pick it out. Pick it
-
out. Because it has been encoded there. And that
-
is the job of the believer. That is the job of
-
someone who calls himself a Christian. Right?
-
To have sufficiency. Now let's go to verse 16.
-
Verse 16. I'll skip other information from that.
-
Verse 15. Now, it says, all scripture, right?
-
All scripture. Now, this one is graphe, right?
-
Which is G -R -A -P -H -E. All scriptures, right?
-
All scriptures. Here, he's talking about all
-
scriptures, which is graphe. G -R -A -P -H -E.
-
G -R -A -P -H -E. So, This one is talking about
-
all scriptures. It involves the entire book,
-
actually, right? The entire writing, right? In
-
fact, sometimes it reflects the entire theme
-
of that writing. Sometimes it refers to the entire
-
message of that book. It refers to the entire
-
message where it is used when you say, you know
-
the scriptures. It refers to the entire... of
-
that. I know we've learned this, but, you know,
-
we need to hit it very well so that we can. So
-
it's graphe, G -R -A -P -H -E. G -R -A -P -H
-
-E. So the entire scriptures taken together,
-
right? The entire scriptures taken together is
-
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for instruction.
-
For correction and for instruction in righteousness.
-
Right? So, the entire scriptures that Timothy
-
will be reading, right, is inspired by God. And
-
it has its own theme. It has its own message.
-
It has its own message. So, it says doctrine.
-
So, the word doctrine here is didaskalia, right?
-
We can write it down. The word doctrine there
-
is didaskalia. I think we've written this and
-
we have to write it again and again. Didaskalia,
-
D -I -D -A -S -K -A -L -I -A, didaskalia. That's
-
where we are going with this. That's actually
-
where we are going with this. I'm going to use
-
this part to explain some things to us and how
-
people do not sufficiently use the scripture.
-
Now, didaskalia, teachings or instruction. The
-
word reproof, so we have doctrine, didaskalia.
-
To bring sufficient evidence, right? To bring
-
sufficient evidence. I always say to prove it
-
over and over and over and over and again, right?
-
To prove it over and over and over and over and
-
again. Means that from Genesis to Malachi, right?
-
Over and over and over and over and over and
-
again, right? That is what the scriptures will
-
show. what the message of the scripture is. The
-
third one is correction. Correction. Epianotosis,
-
which is E -P -A correction. E -P -A -N -O -R
-
E -P -A -N -O -R C -H -O -S -I -S Epianotosis.
-
Correction. To set things straight. To set things
-
straight. So it means that I should expect things
-
that are not straight, but when I come to the
-
scripture, I should be able to set things straight.
-
Set the teaching of salvation straight. Set the
-
teaching of giving straight. Set the conduct
-
of the believer straight by reading from the
-
scriptures. Set the lifestyle of a believer straight
-
by reading from the scriptures. And the last
-
one is instruction in righteousness, right? Instruction
-
is righteousness. It means training the believer
-
to live right, right? Training the believer in
-
righteousness. Training believer in righteousness.
-
So it means that all of these must be done by
-
examining all the scriptures. When we examine
-
all the scriptures and we are able to see how
-
Christ is established through salvation and we
-
see doctrine. A particular doctrine, for example,
-
it means that we have come into revelation of
-
what that is. We have come into revelation of
-
what that is. We are coming to revelation of
-
what that is. Now, if someone pick, let me now
-
ask a question now. If someone pick a part of
-
the scripture, okay? If someone pick a part of
-
the scripture, for example, Leviticus, and it
-
says, Leviticus says, do not eat animals. that
-
have, how do they put it? That chew cords, okay?
-
Do not eat animal that chew cords. And today,
-
someone approaches you and sees you eating maybe
-
pork, you know, for the sake of, you know, you
-
just wanted to have a taste of it. And the person
-
reads that particular scripture to you. Or makes
-
that statement, in fact, quoting it from the
-
Bible and present it to you. What do you think
-
the person has done? Do you think the person
-
has been able to establish a doctrine from that?
-
Or do you think the person is able to establish
-
a doctrine from that? Or do you think the person
-
is able to sufficiently, are we together, explain
-
from just that one text? What I'm trying to tell
-
us is that when someone takes such a scripture
-
without examining all scriptures, first, we can
-
say that they did what Timothy did, which is
-
to be acquainted to the scriptures, right? Because
-
you have to be acquainted to the scriptures before,
-
you know, you can know that there's a part of
-
the scripture that says that someone should not
-
epoch. It means that you probably had read Leviticus
-
and Exodus sufficiently, right? And somehow you
-
have picked something there. So you have read
-
it. The question is, when it pertains to what
-
the believer can eat or not eat, can that person
-
establish a ground using only that text? No.
-
Do you get it? No. Right? It is impossible to
-
pay. So what we call that action, when somebody
-
does it to you, you tell the person you have
-
heard. So they have heard from the scriptures.
-
Okay? So erring means that you pick one part
-
of the scripture, right? Without examining it
-
across other scriptures, Genesis to Malachi sufficiently,
-
then you give an instruction to a believer. Right?
-
When you do that, you will be misleading the
-
believer. So we can say that no doctrine, no
-
reproof, no correction. or instruction in righteousness
-
can come from just one verse. No doctrine, no
-
reproof, no correction, no instruction in righteousness
-
can come from a single verse quoted out of the
-
Bible. But rather, they must be taken all together.
-
When we do that, they err. And therefore, people
-
miss the message of Christ. This is it. The end
-
point is they miss the message of Christ. They
-
heard. They heard. So when somebody picks up
-
a scripture without explaining it sufficiently
-
to you, and judges you, let me put that, let
-
me use that word here, right? The person might
-
have heard in the scriptures. Now let's go to
-
Matthew. Let's go to Matthew. Let's go to Matthew.
-
Let's establish this Aaron. Matthew 22. Matthew
-
22, verse 29. Matthew 22, verse 29. They say,
-
yea, do err. Jesus answered and said to them,
-
you are missed. Please give me erred. Give me
-
my word. This is saying mistaken. Put the one
-
that says erred there, please. I need that word.
-
Yes. Jesus answered and said, you do err not
-
knowing the scripture nor the power of God. Right?
-
He said they erred not knowing. Why did they
-
err? Move to the previous verse, 28. Take it
-
back a little bit. I don't want to reach much
-
of the stories. Take it back a little bit. Now,
-
stop here. From here, it's fine. Now, there were
-
seven wits, or seven brethren, and the first,
-
when he had married a wife, deceased, and having
-
no issue, left his wife onto his brother. Likewise,
-
the second also, and the third, and the seventh.
-
Next. And the last of all, the woman also died.
-
So, seven men married a woman, success, success,
-
succeeding there, I don't know how to put it
-
right. Successively, right? After the other.
-
So, when the human died, they all died. Now,
-
look at their question. Therefore, in the day
-
of resurrection, whose wife shall be of the seven?
-
For they all had her. Right? So, this is kind
-
of a mockery of resurrection. Right? They want
-
to mock resurrection. Now, to mock resurrection,
-
they now pick a verse. Now, if you go to verse
-
26, let's see where verse 24, where they were
-
coming from. Saying, Master, Moses said, if a
-
man die and have no children, his brother shall
-
marry his wife and raise up seed unto his brother.
-
This is where they pick their own grammar from.
-
So they pick this grammar, right? And they use
-
it to, I mean, they use it to want to explain
-
that resurrection is not. something attainable.
-
Because maybe confusion will happen. Maybe the
-
seven brothers will begin to fight each other.
-
That I had that from this year to this year.
-
Right? So they want to show, they want to make
-
resurrection look stupid. But they were actually
-
one that were stupid because they didn't know
-
the scriptures. Now go back to verse 28. Therefore
-
at resurrection, now 29, let's see Jesus answer.
-
Jesus answered and said, you do err. You just
-
erred because you picked a scripture. You picked
-
some statements. And from there, you want to
-
disconnect or you want to say that the doctrine
-
of resurrection established from Genesis to Malachi
-
is not true. So that's what they wanted to do.
-
You want to pick some statements. I think we
-
need to stay a little bit on this part. So pick
-
a statement and use that statement to disqualify
-
all established thoughts until Malachi is erring.
-
Do you get me? So if you find any statement that
-
looks contradictory in the Bible, okay, we are
-
entering revelational knowledge. When you find
-
a statement that is contradictory in the Bible,
-
consistently you have seen that a thought, That
-
God saves by faith. He saves people through faith
-
in Christ Jesus. And you check it from Genesis
-
to Malachi and you can establish it. Now, you
-
find one verse that says the works are required.
-
Right? And you bring out one verse to challenge
-
verses across. You are erring. So what do we
-
do? It means that As believers, we hold on much
-
more to what is established consistently from
-
Genesis to Malachi. Do we get it? We hold on
-
much more. Our stability is in what is consistently
-
established and what is being questioned or what
-
we put question mark to. It means that we need
-
to do what? Go and study it. It means that there
-
is need for more studies. So there is need for
-
a lot of studies in our life. So this is what
-
they do. They heard. He said not knowing the
-
scriptures. Now, if you translate this knowing
-
as what is written in the scriptures, just knowing
-
the letters, it means that Jesus is not correct
-
because they know what the scriptures wrote.
-
They know those letters. They know those statements.
-
But are they wise? Are they skillful in teaching
-
about resurrection from those statements? No.
-
They are not. So knowing the statements in the
-
Bible is not sufficient. Being able to teach
-
across the Bible the doctrine of Christ is revelation.
-
So you do err not knowing. It means not comprehending
-
the scriptures nor the power of God. Now let's
-
put it together. It means that the scripture
-
is what? The power of God. Romans 1 verse 16.
-
Romans 1 verse 16. Romans 1, verse 16. Say, for
-
I am not ashamed of the gospel. Where is it?
-
Romans 1, verse 16, please. It said, for I am
-
not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is
-
the power of God unto salvation to everyone that
-
believe, not to the Jew first and also to the
-
Greek. So it means that when we say you have
-
power, it means that you understand the scriptures.
-
You can teach from the scriptures. That is the
-
strength of the Bible. You'll err because you
-
don't know the scriptures, nor the power of God.
-
Right? So the scriptures reveals the power of
-
God. The scriptures reveal the power of God.
-
From Genesis, right, to Malachi, reveals the
-
power of God. We cannot separate the power of
-
God from God's revelation in the scriptures.
-
We cannot separate the power of God from God's
-
revelation in the scriptures. So they erred.
-
They picked some things, you know, and they tried
-
to use that to counter a well -established expectation.
-
Now, what would they do? What people do in such
-
circumstances is that they make people stray
-
from faith. Stray from faith means they stray
-
from the knowledge of Christ. They stray from
-
established doctrine, teaching. They stray from
-
established doctrine and teaching. So, we cannot
-
separate God's power from God's revelation. Now,
-
let me put you an example. Okay? And I want to
-
apply this to the manifestation, or the things
-
of the spirits. When somebody gives you a word
-
that does not edify you, right? Gives you a word
-
that does not edify you and leads you, for example,
-
someone sees you and say, well, I see that and
-
this is what is going to happen to you. And,
-
you know, this is the person that is causing
-
your problem. And the person throws you in a
-
conundrum of confusion. Right? In the word they
-
are given. It means that such persons are void
-
of the understanding, excuse me, of the understanding
-
that comes from the scripture. Therefore, they
-
cannot give expression to the power of God. Are
-
you with me? So there should be no prophecy towards
-
you that is coming from the word of God, established
-
by the word of God and the things of the spirit
-
giving expression that should produce worry,
-
fear and concern. But rather, it should bring
-
you to a place of encouragement, strength and
-
faith in God. It should bring you to a place
-
of what? Encouragement, strength and faith. in
-
God so when you are filled with the scriptures
-
right for those of us that we are encouraging
-
give a word give a word right when you are filled
-
with the scriptures what you perceive and the
-
way you deliver it gives an encouragement to
-
the believer okay It gives an encouragement to
-
do. So when you are given a word, right? When
-
you're walking in that manifestation, you should
-
know that you know the power of God and you know
-
the scriptures, right? That's why most of the
-
time we teach and teach and teach and teach and
-
teach again about the things of the spirits,
-
right? So that people are acquainted with how
-
the scriptures are written. So if you perceive
-
the word and the word contradicts the scriptures,
-
right? You say what the scripture says. That's
-
it. Okay? You perceive a word. No, no. You say
-
what the scripture says. Because what the scripture
-
says gives an encouragement to that person. Are
-
we together? Because you know the power of God.
-
So, these people, they heard because they don't
-
know the power of God. Now, let's write the statement
-
down. We do not define the power of God by imagination
-
and experiences. We do not define the power of
-
God by imaginations and experiences. We do not
-
define the power of God by imagination and experiences.
-
Because your experience would fail. Your experience
-
would cause you to doubt God sometimes. Your
-
experience will make you begin to think, am I
-
in the right place? You know? Yes, the experience
-
will make you to doubt where God is leading you.
-
So we do not define the power of God by imagination,
-
experience, traditions or assumptions. We do
-
not define the power of God by experience, traditions
-
or assumptions. Or assumptions. Even if they
-
are rightly stated. Because what the Pharisees
-
quoted was rightly stated. We do not define the
-
power of God through imaginations, experience,
-
traditions, or assumption, even if they are rightly
-
stated. It means that it is written. Did Moses
-
not say that? Moses said that. Moses said that.
-
It was written there. Even if they are rightly
-
said as how they have occurred. Even if they
-
are rightly said as to how they have occurred.
-
Because in the scriptures, this happens so much.
-
I'll show us another example. I'll show. People
-
use like sequence. So this happened, then this
-
happened. So let's finish the statement, then
-
I will explain. Even if they are rightly stated
-
as to how they occurred, they might not be truly
-
stated. They might not be truthfully stated.
-
Yes. They might not be truthfully stated. Right?
-
They might not be truthfully stated. So it means
-
that there's a truth that guides what is rightly
-
stated. There is a truth that guides what is
-
rightly stated. There is a truth that guides
-
what is rightly stated. When it's rightly stated,
-
there is a truth in the scriptures, across the
-
scriptures, that guides what is rightly stated.
-
So let me say this as well. Though your experience
-
is rightly stated, What you are going through
-
is rightly stated. There is a truth that guides
-
what you are going through. Okay? What you are
-
going through is rightly stated. That is why
-
we say, well, we recognize what you're going
-
through. We recognize the challenges life brings
-
to us. We recognize, you know, all the things
-
that is happening to you. Right? We see them.
-
We are not ignorant of these challenges. And
-
they are rightly stated and they are rightly
-
there. But the truth, there's a truth that guides
-
what you are going through. So the truth should
-
prevail over what is rightly stated. The truth
-
should prevail over what is rightly stated. Now
-
let's check two examples. Two examples of scenarios
-
where people actually use the scripture uh in
-
such a way let's check some examples rightly
-
stated this is one example but let's let's just
-
minutes we'll scroll through some examples let's
-
pick first corinthians first uh go to first corinthians
-
for me 1 Corinthians 15, 3 to 4. Can you just
-
put that first? Then I'll bring up the scripture
-
I want to explain. The scriptures, right? According
-
to the scriptures. Now, the scriptures here is
-
referring, right, to graphy, right? It's referring
-
to graphy, means that what Jesus did, okay? What
-
Jesus did is explained in Genesis to Malachi,
-
okay? It's explained in Genesis to Malachi. What
-
Jesus did is explain in Genesis to Malachi. And
-
this scripture is parallel to Luke 24, verse
-
44. So you can just put Luke 24, verse 44 there
-
as a parallel scripture. Just put Luke 24, verse
-
44. And it said unto them, these are words which
-
I speak unto you. While I was yet with you, that
-
all things must be fulfilled, which were written
-
in the law of Moses and the prophets and the
-
Psalms concerning me. So across the scriptures,
-
right? All what Jesus did was to fulfill what
-
the scriptures are talked about. Now let's go
-
to John 9, John chapter 9 from verse 1. John
John 9 chapter mention
-
chapter 9 from verse 1. And as Jesus passed by,
-
he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
-
And his disciples asked him, saying, Master,
-
who did sin, this man or his parents, that he
-
was born blind? And Jesus answered, Neither had
-
this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the
-
works of God. Should be made manifest. In him.
-
Right. That the works of God. Should be made.
-
Manifest. In him. Now. The pattern. Okay. Go
-
back to verse 2. Where they made that statement.
-
So the disciples asked. So the disciples. Not
-
even just the crown. The disciples. Who did sin?
-
This man. Or. His parents. That. He was born.
-
So the understanding here is that when you sin
-
against God, certain things as such would come
-
to you. Okay? When you sin against God, certain
-
things as such would come to you. Now, this kind
-
of understanding, believe me, is rightly stated
-
across the Old Testament. For example, Israel
-
sinned against God. And all of a sudden, you
-
see the king of Assyria attacking them, right?
-
You see this thing as a pattern in the scriptures,
-
right? So, consistently when they sin and evil
-
happens, right? They accrue it to, because we
-
have sinned against God, right? Therefore, we
-
have been punished. So, the understanding here
-
is, who sinned? The child, look at this, this
-
man or his, how can the man that has not, you
-
know, it means that it's possible to sin from
-
the womb. Because it said this man or his parent
-
that he was born blind. So they knew he was born
-
blind. So how can he sin if he was born blind?
-
Right? So it's, there are unexplainable circumstances,
-
right? There are unexplainable circumstances.
-
And when those unexplainable circumstances comes,
-
The most, you know, visible or logical, let me
-
not say logical, easy explanation is to accrue
-
evil to sin and sin against God. So men find
-
it easy. It's a shortcut to life. Shortcut to
-
peace. Shortcut to finding a closure. You see,
-
it came from God. Right? Even if you have humans
-
in those contexts, government mistakes, people
-
not taking precautions, and people doing things
-
in the wrong way, trying to make more money,
-
greed and all of that, they will say, no, it's
-
God, right? So here, they were trying to walk
-
in that kind of a light. That's who did sin.
-
Now, the next verse now says, Neither had this
-
man sinned nor his parents. Right? So, Jesus
-
is saying it's not about their sin or whether
-
they sin or not, but the works of God should
-
be made manifest in him. Now, the wrong way to
-
explain this is to say that he was born blind
-
so that God would show up. Like, I mean, God
-
made him blind. That's another explanation. That
-
God made him blind so that he would show his
-
power that, you know, I'm here. Right? God does
-
not need to make somebody blind to show his power.
-
Are we together? Don't forget, the power of God
-
is what? The scriptures. We are coming from somewhere,
-
okay? We are coming from somewhere. The works
-
of God, the power of God, the scriptures. So
-
for him to manifest the things written in the
-
scriptures, does he need to produce such, I mean,
-
does he need to inflict such a thing to a person?
-
No. Okay? He doesn't need to inflict such a thing
-
to anybody. Right? That's why I think that I
-
said that sometimes your enemy will be there
-
and God will still make a way for you where your
-
enemy is beside you. I mean enemy and opposition.
-
Someone who is directly opposing you. It might
-
be in your workplace. It might be in your class.
-
It might be in your environment. The person is
-
just a stress to you. And you, you are praying,
-
Lord, take him away. Shift their move. Move their
-
shift so that they can have space for me. Lord,
-
make a way. Anyhow, let them fire the person.
-
You don't need to do all of that. I think I realized
-
that over time, studying the word, and that's
-
a revelation for me. That in that same place,
-
you will have peace. In that same place, room
-
will be made available for you. In that same
-
place, opportunities will be open and the person
-
will be looking at you like this. In that same
-
place, while the opposition is taking place,
-
you are growing. You are growing. Despite the
-
opposition. So God does not need to harm, inflict,
-
kill. He doesn't do that to lift you up. That's
-
not revelation. So your prayer now, if you find
-
opposition, things around you, right? Say, Lord,
-
I grow in this place. Opportunities are open
-
for me in this place. I manifest God in this
-
place. Maybe we should explain something to us.
-
Do you know that before evil was God, evil did
-
not come, then God now appeared. Before the concept
-
of evil and sin and wickedness, God existed.
-
So God is not always an aftermath to come and
-
do evil. That's another thing we need to understand.
-
God existed before all of these things. So they
-
don't come from him. Right? They don't come from.
-
So he was teaching and he said, neither others
-
man sin nor the parent, but that the works of
-
God should be made manifest. It means that everywhere
-
there is evil, whether it's sin or not sin related,
-
the manifestation of God will take place. So
-
the works of God will be made manifest. Everywhere
-
there is evil. So God is not the one producing
-
the evil. Right? But rather, where God moves,
-
the evil, the blindness, and the sickness, they
-
disappear. So God is not doing it so that it
-
can manifest, but rather the presence of God
-
in such arenas takes away the evil, takes away
-
the blindness, takes away the problem. So the
-
presence of God in such arenas takes away. Now
-
move to the next verse 4. He said, I must walk
-
the walks of him that sent me while it is day,
-
the night coming when no man can walk. And as
-
long as I am in the world, I am what? The light
-
of the world. So it is not going about looking
-
for those people that God has inflicted, then
-
it will not make it. No, as long as I am present.
-
As long as I am present, right? I am the light
-
of the world. Praise God. I hope you have received
-
revelation today. I hope we are growing in revelation.
-
On Wednesday, we will continue. But go with these
-
thoughts in you. Right? Knowing fully well that
-
God is ever present with you. Knowing fully well
-
that the scriptures are the power of God. They
-
are the revelation. They shape the rightly stated
-
circumstances you face because they are the truth
-
of God's word. Can you just pray? Can you pray?
-
Can you pray for yourself? Say, Lord, as I go
-
daily in my life, I walk in the revelation of
-
who God is. No matter what is rightly stated
-
in my life, I walk in the revelation of who God
-
is. We appreciate you being here today. We hope
-
you carry this word with you throughout your
