The Lord confides in those who fear Him. He makes

His covenant known to them. Shalom beloved. You are warmly

The theme for today's devotion is Our Salvation Stories. Our

Salvation Stories. written by Pastor Emesis Amoapia of Harvest Chapel

International Kumasi. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Father,

we thank you for the gift of life. As we

look into your word, we pray that you open the

eyes of our understanding. Help us, O God, to apply

your word into our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen. Let

us kindly take our confession together from Joshua 1, verse 8.

John 9:24–25

chapter 9 verses 24 to 25. Let us hear the

word of the Lord. So they again called the man

who was blind and said to him, Give God the glory.

We know that this man is a sinner. He answered

and said, Whether he is a sinner or not, I

do not know. One thing I know, that though I

was blind, now I see. May the Lord add his

blessing to the reading and hearing of his word. Thanks

be to God. Our Salvation Stories Whenever the talk tends

to winning souls, An uncomfortable knot often tightens in our chest.

We immediately imagine clever debaters, eloquent street preachers, or men

and women who have every theological answer at their fingertips.

We look at our own uncertainty of the gospel and

say to ourselves, I am not qualified. If someone asks

me a hard question, I will only make things worse. So,

we stay silent. We keep our peace, smile politely with

everyone and say nothing, while souls around us step closer

to eternity without hope. In the Gospel of John, the

religious leaders say, conned an ordinary man whose sight had

just been restored by Jesus. They were scholars, masters of

the law, who were armed with fierce arguments and sharp

accusations against Christ. They demanded explanations that this poor man

simply did not have. He did not attempt to explain

the accomplice's theology and accusations. He did not pretend to

know what he did not know. He merely stood his

ground and spoke what was true of his own life.

Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not.

One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now

I see. No one could argue with that. It was

the simple and shakable testimony of a changed life. Winning

a soul is not always an intellectual conquest. It is

not winning an argument nor is it forcing someone into

a corner with clever rhetoric. It has been described as

nothing more than one beggar telling another beggar where to

find bread. It is a simple act of sharing our

personal encounters with the Saviour. We do not need an

advanced degree to tell a neighbor what Christ has done

for our weary hearts. We do not need polished words

to share how his peace carried us through bereavement of

loved ones, how his mercy lifted our guilt, or how

his blood washed away all our sins. People around us

are bruised by the world. They are quietly searching for

something real. Let's not allow fear or shyness seal our lips.

We are not called to convert anyone. That is the

sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. We are simply called

to be witnesses, using our salvation stories to point them

to the Savior who saved us and trust Him to

save them too. Amen. Our memory verse for today will

knowledge of Christ also, that they also may be able

to share their stories in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. God
