  1. Amen. Okay, we're in Ephesians chapter one. Look down at your Bibles in verse number four.

  2. It says, According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world that

  3. we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Having predestinated us unto the

  4. adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of

  5. his will. And the time I'm assuming this morning is I am not a Calvinist. I'm not

  6. a Calvinist. This is not a Calvinist church. We do not believe in reform, theology. We

  7. completely reject all five points of Calvinism. And I want to explain to you in

  8. this sermon why that is. Now you're in Ephesians chapter one. Hold your place

  9. there. Put a piece of paper or a pen there. We're gonna come back to that in

  10. just a bit. Go to Romans chapter three if you would. Romans chapter three. I am

  11. an independent fundamental Baptist. I believe in salvation by grace through

  12. faith and I believe in free will. I believe that God has given us the

  13. ability to choose things. You know the Bible says choose you this day whom ye

  14. will serve, right? The Bible constantly emphasizes the importance of us

  15. exercising our will to choose to do the will of God, to choose to believe on

  16. the Lord Jesus Christ, to choose to disobey him. We're not made like robots.

  17. We're not made with as sentient beings that cannot select or choose what to

  18. do, whether to obey God or not. We have the ability to choose these

  19. things and God did not elect certain people to go to heaven and you know

  20. essentially choose certain people to go to hell. And you say what is Calvinism?

  21. What exactly do Calvinists teach? Well at the end of the day that's

  22. exactly what they believe. They believe that God essentially chooses certain

  23. people for eternal life and in turn damns others to eternal damnation

  24. just based on a whim. Not based upon their rejection of the gospel. Not

  25. based upon whether they're reprobates or not. It's literally just based upon the

  26. whim of God that he essentially selects certain people for salvation others for

  27. eternal damnation just because. So if we're to look at this group right here

  28. it's basically God saying you're going to heaven not you not you you you not

  29. you not you not you you you not you. And he's just like why? Just because

  30. it's according to the good pleasure of his will. It's his will for some people

  31. to be saved and for other people to be damned. But that's not what the

  32. Bible teaches. The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish but

  33. that all should come to repentance right? He wants all men to come to the saving

  34. knowledge of Jesus Christ and he wants people to choose to believe on his son.

  35. We always see know that many people will not because broad is the way to lead

  36. it to destruction and many there be which go in there at. But at the end

  37. of the day you know God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked.

  38. He doesn't want them to die and go to hell. That's the reason he sent

  39. his son to die on the cross to pay for the sins of the world. The Bible says

  40. that he is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the

  41. sins of the whole world demonstrating that God is not partial in that manner.

  42. He wants all people in all places to be saved. Now let me give you a couple

  43. introductory statements before I get into my main points this morning about

  44. not being a Calvinist. You know today on the internet people typically

  45. categorize people into three separate categories. These three sections.

  46. And basically they say well if you are not for Coca-Cola you must be for Pepsi,

  47. right? If you're not a Democrat that you must be a Republican but we as a church

  48. don't fit into any of these descriptions. Now what I mean by that?

  49. Well to them you're either a Catholic, a Calvinist or an Armenian, okay?

  50. Now I don't mean Armenian like like Brother Hyde from Armenia.

  51. I'm not talking about that. We're talking about those who uphold the

  52. doctrines of Jacob Arminius from the 1500s that essentially is the

  53. counterpart to Calvinism, okay? And really what they'll do is Catholics will

  54. look at people like us and say so what are you a Calvinist or are you do you

  55. believe in Armenianism? And it's just like no. No, you didn't hear me right.

  56. Are you do you believe in Calvinism? Are you a Reformed Christian or do you

  57. believe in the doctrines of Arminius, Jacob Arminius? And it's like no.

  58. Now here's the thing you say what is the difference between the two?

  59. Well they're basically the same in a lot of ways to be quite honest with you.

  60. Okay? They pretty much believe the same exact thing with the with the few nuances.

  61. You know we already know what the Calvinists believe. They believe that

  62. basically God gives the people the ability to believe. So you're not choosing to be saved.

  63. God basically gives you the faith to believe in him but obviously that's not a biblical doctrine

  64. because the Bible talks about people you know die faith at safety referring to the fact

  65. that people have the faith that they have to place that faith in Christ to be saved.

  66. Calvinists will assert that God provides a certain power of grace in order to help

  67. someone to believe. Okay? Whereas Jacob Arminius essentially asserted that people are elected

  68. they're chosen based upon their faith in Christ. So basically it's kind of similar to what we

  69. believe in that once you place your faith in Jesus Christ you are the chosen of God.

  70. Okay? You know once you have been saved, you're the child of God,

  71. you're God's chosen people, you are the elect that is essentially true but he's still held to this

  72. belief that God basically uses his grace to kind of draw you into himself which is very Calvinistic.

  73. Okay? So he proposed these doctrines and he said well if we believe exactly like that then

  74. why wouldn't we say that we believe in Armenianism? Well because they believe that you can lose

  75. your salvation which is a damnedable heresy. Okay? You know they essentially assert that well

  76. you know you can lose your salvation and it's possible to lose it and Jacob Arminius was

  77. actually quoted as saying you know when it comes to losing your salvation I just placed a big

  78. question mark on that. Okay? Which obviously if you place a big question mark on eternal

  79. security you're probably not saved because then you know the Bible teaches that salvation

  80. is forever I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man

  81. pluck them out of my hand I will a no wise cast them out he says no wise is an old way of saying for

  82. any reason whatsoever under any condition will you ever lose your salvation and if salvation

  83. can be lost it should not be called eternal life because eternal never ends. Okay? So you

  84. have these two camps here Jacob Arminius asserted these five points refuting John Calvin and

  85. then what you have later on is the cannons of door meeting together and essentially creating the

  86. five points of Calvinism. Calvinism of course stems from the reform theologian the popular reform

  87. theologian known as John Calvin who essentially taught the doctrines of grace they were later

  88. consolidated and expanded upon at the cannons of door as referring to the five points of

  89. Calvinism what we know today as being the tulip okay that cute little flower that teaches these

  90. doctrines of Calvinism you say well what are we we're Baptists what are we we're Christians we

  91. believe in the Bible now here's the thing is that Calvinists will assert that they believe in one

  92. saved always saved they preach one saved always saved and you know obviously when it comes to

  93. Calvinism it is a broad spectrum because I've run into Calvinists who are saved and they believe

  94. in the biblical doctrine of one saved always saved but I've also you know heard about other

  95. Calvinists and met other Calvinists they claim to believe in one saved always saved

  96. but then they assert well if you don't continue in your works then you're not really saved

  97. but that's not one saved always saved now is it that's a workspace salvation

  98. if a pastor gets up and says well you know if your faithful is serving God now if you are

  99. serving the Lord Jesus Christ now but somewhere along down the line you get out of the church

  100. you leave the will of God you stop serving the Lord you get involved in sin and you remain

  101. in that sin then that means you're not really saved that's not one saved always saved

  102. that's a workspace salvation and they'll often quote the verse from 1st John chapter 2 that says

    John 2 chapter mention

  103. they went out from us for they were not of us for if they had been of us they would have no

  104. doubt continued with us essentially asserting that you need to continue in your works in

  105. order to prove that you're saved but that's not a biblical doctrine my friends but to him

  106. that work is not right but believe it on him to justify it the ungodly his faith is

  107. counted for righteousness not of works a standing man should boast not by works of righteousness

  108. which we have done but according to his mercy he saved us and quite frankly we have an example

  109. the Old Testament by the name of Saul who did not persevere in his works this man died a godless

  110. person in his actions this man you know he was going to the palm reader he's going to the

  111. witch at end door he is murderous he basically lived a wicked life to the very end he

  112. committed suicide yet the prophet Samuel said what today thou and thy son shall be with me

  113. and where was samuel when he said that in heaven proving one saved always saved that saw was a

  114. saved man and yes he died a dishonorable death he died in his sin but thankfully salvation is not

  115. based upon the works that you do in the future so what is it based upon the finished work of

  116. Jesus Christ it's based upon your faith in him and so we reject all forms of the gospel

  117. with the teach that you have to do something on your end some sort of deeds on your part

  118. some sort of works that you have to do to maintain your salvation because first Peter

  119. chapter one tells us that we are kept by the power of God listen to this through works

  120. no through faith that's what the Bible says okay and a lot of people have beef with that

  121. but who cares it's what the Bible says oh you're saying that I can just go and

  122. sin you sin anyways what are you talking about you know you're under this this illusion that somehow

  123. oh you can stop sinning after salvation yeah I agree there's certain sins that you don't

  124. have to commit anymore you don't have to live in fornication you don't have to commit adultery

  125. you don't have to commit drunkenness but guess what the thought of foolishness is still sin

  126. yeah and he that keep it the whole law yet offended in one point he's guilty of all

  127. so even though you're not out there being a serial killer being a complete drunkard being a

  128. railer you're still sinning in other ways according to the Bible and there's not a just man upon earth

  129. that do with good and sin it's not so if you think you're just well I'm saved and I'm just

  130. completely sinless now no you're actually lying to yourself and you're calling God a liar

  131. so the Bible says according to first John chapter one if you say you have no sin

  132. you do not the truth you know and you're calling God a liar so the Bible teaches

  133. because according to the Bible for all of sin come short of the glory of God

  134. there's none that do with good no not one and so over and over again the Bible emphasizes

  135. the fact that we are sinners because we have a corruptible body a corruptible flesh and so

  136. you know we're not Armenian and we're not Calvinists we're just Bible believers we're

  137. Baptists and we believe in one saved always saved you say well you know if you believe in

  138. one saved always saved then what exactly does that mean are you saying that someone can

  139. somewhere along down the road believe in Mormonism and still be saved the answer is no

  140. what the biblical prescription for the person who deviates from the faith in that manner meaning

  141. that they become a Muslim they become a Catholic they become a Mormon a Jehovah's

  142. Witness the biblical description for that person is that they were never safe to begin with

  143. right because they deviated from the doctrines of Christ this is what the Bible means when

  144. they says that they've fallen from grace they pretended they masqueraded as a believer but

  145. they were never really a believer to begin with and look at least we have a biblical example of

  146. that Judas Iscariot is a biblical example of that and what the funny thing is people try

  147. to point to Judas Iscariot as someone who lost his salvation and just completely ignored

  148. the words of Jesus Christ that says that he didn't believe from the beginning

  149. it's literally what it says it doesn't say he lost his salvation it says that he was a devil

  150. from the beginning and that he did not believe according to John chapter 6 meaning that he

    John 6 chapter mention

  151. masqueraded as an apostle of Jesus Christ he masqueraded as a disciple as a Christian he

  152. had everyone fooled but the Lord Jesus Christ himself he didn't lose salvation he never

  153. had it to begin with because you can't lose salvation okay and so we believe in one saved

  154. always saved and again when it comes to Calvinists it is a broad spectrum I have personally talked

  155. to Calvinists that believe right on salvation they don't believe you have to persevere in your

  156. works to be saved they don't believe you have to repent of your sins to be saved because that

  157. is a workspace salvation they don't believe you have to keep God's commandments they believe

  158. it's strictly by your faith in him alone and that is the right gospel my friends

  159. Armenians on the other hand you know they they assert that they believe these things

  160. but they still believe you can lose your salvation and of course that idea has evolved into more

  161. damnable heresy since the 1500s so we don't fit into any of these categories of being an Armenian

  162. or a Calvinist you know and often Catholics will look at people like us and say oh you're

  163. Protestants you know and to a certain degree I don't really have a problem with that but

  164. it's it's an inaccurate label though for us you say why is that because a Protestant is

  165. synonymous with the reformer and the reason I'm not a reformer is because reformers the name

  166. reformer literally means to try to make the Catholic Church better that's what it means

  167. means they came out of the Catholic Church and they're trying to reform the Catholic Church

  168. you understand we're not trying to do that because they believe that the Catholic Church

  169. was right at one time and that they deviated from the faith and became Catholics or something

  170. no Catholicism isn't a prostate religion it's not the original church you know you're like what

  171. about church history who cares about church history here's here's my church history right here

  172. this is the superior church history book right here so why would I appeal to an inferior source

  173. when I have the superior source right here telling me what the bible actually says well you know

  174. it's just good to you know study men of the past and church fathers those who were really close

  175. to Jesus Christ in the first church is to know what they practiced why if they had heretics existed

  176. during that time too just because some of us close to in close proximity to the first century

  177. ad doesn't make them accurate you know you have hymen a is for example who was in the churches

  178. that Paul started he was a heretic teaching the resurrection had passed already there there's

  179. your preterism doctrine right there so there is heretics even back then do you know what

  180. that tells me you know studying the lives of men in the past in order to validate my doctrine

  181. is a fool's errand because you don't really know what they believe you know here here's the accurate

  182. book that you need to go to is just the bible you're trying to tell me do you know more bible

  183. than people from the first century ad apparently if some of them were damnable heretics

  184. folks the holy spirit doesn't age though the same holy spirit that existed then

  185. dwells within me and he's the spirit of truth and so yeah if there is a person in the first

  186. century ad that taught listen to me in the in the second or third century ad that taught that

  187. salvation was by taking the Eucharist yeah i know more bible than that person for sure

  188. you know and people take offense to that but i don't really care because you know what

  189. my final authority is not church history it's not the church fathers it's god the father

  190. it's bible is what it is okay you know all scriptures given by inspiration of god it's

  191. profitable for doctrine for proof of correction and instruction in righteousness first shan chapter

  192. two tells us that we need not that any man teach us because the anointing which dwells within us

  193. basically teaches us all things right so you think you have the authority to interpret the bible

  194. well because i have the holy spirit because i have a local new testament church because i have all

  195. 66 books here according to the bible yeah that's all i need okay at least to study or to know the

  196. basic fundamentals of the faith and so i'm not you know i digress but that's important to note there

  197. so we're not Armenian we're not Calvinists we're not Catholics we're just bible believing

  198. baptist fundamental baptist to believe in the fundamentals of the faith okay now with that

  199. in mind i do want to say that i'm not a Calvinist because a lot of times again people will say

  200. well you must be a reformer you must be a Protestant a Protestant someone who came out of

  201. the Catholic church and protested the Catholic church and the only reason i say okay that would

  202. be an accurate statement because we do protest the Catholic church the only difference is

  203. we didn't come from the Catholic church right okay you know oh show me a church you know the first

  204. century d that believe like you right here oh after that why would i go after that

  205. this is the most accurate one right here you know but here's the thing they don't

  206. follow that same standard though show me a verse in the bible where people pray to marry

  207. you know show me a verse show me a verse in the bible that says program show me a verse in the

  208. bible says catholic it doesn't exist you know for a church that claims to have given us the

  209. bible you sure didn't put a whole lot of catholic doctrine in the bible

  210. but again you know not catholic and not Calvinist okay and uh Calvinism is a

  211. there's a lot of damnable heresy but there's just heresy in general and you know i get that

  212. there's a lot of good Calvinist out there and there might be good preacher Calvinist out there

  213. i just don't know a very many i'll just be honest and you know what people get offended when i call

  214. out john mccarthur but john mccarthur was a damnable heretic and you shouldn't be shocked

  215. that you're hearing that at a fundamental baptist church because fundamental baptists have always

  216. preached against john mccarthur you say why would you say that you know i'll tell you why

  217. because he preached that you have to repent of your sins to be saved and he preached that if

  218. someone got out of church stopped doing good works then they were basically not saved and he also

  219. taught that you could take the mark of the beast and still be saved how about that what's the

  220. context the context is the mark of the beast this is what people often say when they don't

  221. want to accept the truth but what's the context the context is salvation and the

  222. mark of the beast that's what it was and he said you could take the mark of the beast

  223. and still be saved but then turn around and say well if you don't repent of your sins that you're

  224. not really saved and again he held to the doctrine of election fiercely in fact there's a video out

  225. there where you know he would do these these q and a's in his church and a woman just completely

  226. devastated because she had just lost her brother her brother passed away and her brother was part

  227. of the church he was serving and i don't know exactly what her brother believed but he passed away

  228. and he didn't pass away you know doing the lord will per se he was like in a backslidden state

  229. and she asked them like you know i have these nightmares about my brother i'm just like i'm i'm

  230. troubled in my spirit about my brother because i don't know if he was saved or not because he

  231. died like outside of the church he's died not serving god and you know john mccard basically

  232. said yeah he probably wasn't elected you know oh how comforting you know but this is where the

  233. doctrine of election is is so uh damaging and again i don't know if the guy will say i don't

  234. know what he believed about salvation but i don't base someone's salvation based off of the works

  235. that they do you base it off of what they believe you say how do you know that because the bible

  236. says by thy words thou shall be justified and by thy words thou shall be condemned it doesn't say

  237. by thy works thou shall be justified by thy works thou shall be condemned by thy words essentially

  238. stating what you believe is what justifies you or condemns you because if thou shall confess with

  239. thine mouth the lord jesus and believe in thine heart that god hath raised them from the dead

  240. thou shall be saved you know and so don't be a respecter of people in here oh man i have all

  241. these john mccArthur cds or something and i i feel like he's helped me a lot folks if someone's

  242. wrong on salvation they're wrong on everything else you're not to be a person of partiality

  243. a person who's a respecter of people have loyalty to the bibles which you need to have

  244. okay now with that being said let's go ahead and destroy the tulip real quick and talk about

  245. the doctrines of calvinism and how they are in error you're in roman chapter three let's talk

  246. about total depravity okay now what is total depravity what do they mean by total depravity

  247. when it comes to catholic theology or i'm sorry calvinist theology they essentially assert that

  248. the entire world both elect and those who are not elect are totally depraved and incapable

  249. of seeking after god okay so whether you're elect or not according to their position

  250. you are unable to actually seek after god seek after the truth which is why you have to be

  251. elected and which is why they teach something called irresistible grace okay and the idea here

  252. is that no man is able to seek after god and this is their text verse here look at roman

  253. chapter three verse nine we're going to read a couple passages here it says what then are we

  254. better than they know and know wise for we have before proved both jew and gentiles

  255. that they are all under sin as it is written there is none righteous no not one there is

  256. none that understand that there is none that seeketh after god so specifically saying here

  257. that people are sinful and there's none that seeketh after god they would interpret this to mean

  258. that man is absolutely incapable of having any having it within them to actually seek the lord

  259. seek salvation seek the bible because there is none that seeketh after god but it's important

  260. to understand folks that when the bible talks about there's none that seeketh god it's in the

  261. context of simply condemning all of mankind as being sinners okay and the way to interpret the bible

  262. is not through just one verse you got to compare scripture of scripture okay now go with me if

  263. you would go let's go to act chapter 15 act chapter 15 now the reason this idea that everyone's

  264. totally depraved incapable of seeking god is silly it's because the bible literally says in

  265. matthew seven seven ask and it shall be given seek and you shall find just kidding you can't

  266. seek jokes on you you can't look for anything you know seek and you shall find knock and

  267. it shall be open unto you so how is it that in one portion of scripture it says that none

  268. seeketh after god but in another portion of scripture it commands us to seek the way

  269. we reconcile these is based upon the context of salvation of being a sinner roman chapter three

  270. when it says that none seeketh after god it's essentially saying that we're all sinners before

  271. the lord we cannot obtain salvation on our own merit we cannot reach eternal life through our own

  272. ability okay we can't obey god's will to heaven we cannot obey the commandments to heaven we

  273. are all sinners but yet the bible tells us that we can seek and god will make himself known unto us

  274. now let's look at another example here in act chapter 15 act chapter 15 let's go down to verse

  275. 17 if you would it says here verse 17 that the residue of men might seek after the lord

  276. he said well that's referring to the elect though the residue of man that's the elect

  277. so that makes perfect sense pastor it lines up with Calvinistic doctrine because it's saying

  278. the residue is just those certain parts of people who are the elect that can seek after the lord

  279. well it goes on to say here that the residue of men might seek after the lord and all the Gentiles

  280. and when the bible talks about Gentiles in general it's referring to the unregenerated of

  281. this world so here's two people groups that are commanded to seek after the lord one is the

  282. residue of men referring to just people groups and then it just says in general all Gentiles well

  283. how can that be if you're totally depraved if you're incapable of seeking after the lord if you can't

  284. find it within you to stir yourself up to seek the truth how is that even possible for him to say

  285. hey the residue is going to seek after the lord and so all the Gentiles upon whom my name is

  286. called say the lord who do with all these things go to act chapter 17 act chapter 17

  287. folks what the bible actually teaches is that all men can seek after the lord okay how do we know

  288. that well because god has left himself with the witness right we have the witness of creation

  289. we have the witness of our conscience and we have the witness of the word of god

  290. all of which work in conjunction to help people to be positioned to hear the gospel and

  291. believe it understand look what it says in act chapter 17 in verse 26 it says an

  292. ethmate of one blood all nations of men for to dwell in all the face of the earth and have

  293. determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation so what does that mean

  294. you know the african who's born in africa it wasn't by accident god appointed for that person

  295. to be born in that specific part of the world same thing in china and russia and central america

  296. in all places and god specifically positions them there so that they would seek the lord

  297. look what it goes on to say in verse 27 why that they should seek the lord if happily

  298. they might feel after him and find him though he be not far from every one of us well how

  299. does this work in conjunction with total depravity since total depravity says you can't do that

  300. you don't have it within you to seek the lord yet we're being commanded here and we're being

  301. we're being taught here that all nations are positions in different parts of the world

  302. with the intent that they would seek after the lord in their situation so the person who's

  303. in poverty you know why they're born in poverty so they can seek the lord the person who's born

  304. with abundance the abundance should invoke within them gratitude and by gratitude seek the lord

  305. the person who's born with sicknesses illness disease it's done in that manner so they can

  306. seek the lord the person who's born in neighborhoods of violence and countries of

  307. violence where horrendous things happen the lord allowed that so in light of that they would seek

  308. the lord this is why it's important for you not to complain about where what household you're born

  309. into what color skin you have or something oh i wish i was just a different race or something

  310. i wish i wasn't born in the hood i wish i wasn't born in this part of the world i wish i wasn't

  311. no actually that helped you to come to the saving knowledge of jesus christ

  312. it's not going to bring you to the saving knowledge of jesus christ

  313. it just positions you spiritually so that in light of that position you seek the lord and guess what

  314. you find him it's not like oh sorry you can't find anything you're just completely incapable

  315. you're not able because you're just totally depraved it's just impossible for you to do so

  316. not according to the bible not according to the bible go to roman chapter two if you would roman

  317. chapter two and again according to this total depravity doctrine the non-elect are incapable

  318. of just obeying the word of god period they're just not able okay but again the bible teaches

  319. contrary to that look at roman chapter two and verse number we'll start at verse number 12

  320. for as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law and as many as have sinned

  321. the law shall be judged by the law for not the hearers of the law are just before god but the

  322. doers of the law shall be justified for when the Gentiles which have not the law do by nature

  323. the things contained in the law these having not the law are law unto themselves so the bible says

  324. here that the Gentiles which is synonymous with the unregenerated they do the things which are

  325. contained in the law even though they don't have the law well how is that possible if

  326. they're totally depraved how is that possible if they're just incapable of seeking after god

  327. reading the bible obeying the bible i'll tell you how because within every single human being

  328. god has placed something called light no one is born into this world without light okay what is

  329. light truth that comes to our conscious it's invoked by creation and it's enlightened made

  330. brighter so to speak when we're given the gospel go to john chapter one if you would john chapter one

  331. actually john chapter three and then we'll go to john chapter one go to john chapter three first

  332. you see every person in this world has light within them doesn't mean they're good

  333. because there's none to do with good no not one the light that is within every human being is a

  334. measure of truth that god expects for you to respond to that eventually positions you to

  335. hear the gospel later on right and that light is called the conscience okay you know it's able

  336. to tell you that you're doing wrong and in light of that you seek after god this is what roman chapter

  337. seven means by the law slaying us and in light of that we would seek after the lord seek after

  338. salvation that would bring us to the foot of the cross this is the light that god gives us

  339. look at roman chapter excuse me john chapter three and verse number nineteen it says this is the

  340. condemnation that light is coming to the world and men love darkness rather than light because their

  341. deeds were evil for everyone that do with evil hated the light neither cometh to the light less

  342. as deed should be reproved but he that do with truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be

  343. made manifest that they are wrought and god you say oh see there you go one man hates the

  344. light the other one responds to the light yeah but here's the point they both have light

  345. so how do you know go to john chapter one john chapter one

  346. john chapter one and we'll start in verse number one it says in the beginning was the

  347. word and the word was with god the word was god the same was in the beginning with god all

  348. things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made it's a good

  349. passage for the muslims amen in him was life and the life was the light of men

  350. and the light shineth in darkness the darkness comprehended it not skip down to verse seven

  351. the same came for a witness to bear witness of the light that all men through him might believe

  352. he was not that light but was sent to bear witness of that light that was the true light

  353. listen to this which lighteth every man that cometh into the world you know what that means

  354. every man has light every man has a measure of truth within them to the lord jesus christ

  355. you know it's kind of like it sounds like just god wants people to be saved

  356. just like everyone he's not like well you get light not you you get and when you propose these

  357. verses when you show these verses to calvinists they're like well yeah it is true they have a

  358. measure of light but it really it only affects the elect though oh book chapter and verse on that

  359. well no that's just that's just how it is you know everyone has light and you know everyone

  360. gets a measure of grace but only the elect are able to respond well how convenient

  361. you know that you just completely ignore the clear portions of scripture

  362. that specifically says that we all have light which refutes total depravity

  363. because total total depravity is basically asserts there is no light in everyone

  364. light only exists in those who are called for salvation in the elect now let me also

  365. make something very clear that we do believe that christians are the chosen of god

  366. and that we are the elect the difference is we don't believe that that election

  367. is based upon god's whim where others are not elect the election is based upon simply our faith

  368. in jesus christ and at that point we are the chosen people of god okay ye are a chosen generation

  369. a royal priesthood and holy nation and so forth first peter chapter two and so total depravity

  370. completely falls apart when you recognize that for all have sinned when you recognize

  371. that god commands people to ask seek and knock that people are placed in certain habitations around

  372. the world so that they can seek the lord so they can you know call upon the name of the lord

  373. so they can seek after him and we have plenty examples of that in the bible you have cornelius

  374. for example who was not saved yet he sought the lord you say well that's because he was elect

  375. yeah but according to your Calvinistic interpretation he's totally depraved god has to come to him

  376. but what do we see with cornelius is that he sought out the truth he's the one who sought out

  377. peter he's the one who sought out the gospel okay now go back to Ephesians chapter one if you

  378. would Ephesians chapter one i am not a Calvinist because i believe that all men can be saved

  379. i don't believe that all men are totally depraved obviously there comes a point according to the

  380. bible where someone can be beyond the hope of salvation it's called reprobation but it's based

  381. upon their continuous and aggressive rejection of the gospel to the point where they become

  382. enemies of the cross of christ they don't want to retain god in their knowledge

  383. therefore god gives them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient

  384. totally different from total depravity that asserts while certain people have been elected

  385. for total depravity they will never come to the saving knowledge of jesus christ

  386. not because of some foreknowledge of their acts or their deeds but just simply because maybe just

  387. god doesn't like them you just choose for them not to be saved now here's what's wicked about

  388. this idea and what a lot of people don't think about is that this basically means that according

  389. to Calvinism some babies are in hell think about that according to them there are babies infants

  390. that are in hell right now and you know what Calvinists hate to address that but it's consistent

  391. with what they believe how so well if a child dies in his mother's womb if there's if there's a

  392. still birth if an infant dies but they were not elect then according to Calvinist theology

  393. they go to hell for sure and you can talk to a Calvinist about this and they will beat around the

  394. bush all day long about it because they know how godless and wicked that that doctrine is

  395. okay whereas the bible teaches that every infant every baby who dies goes to heaven

  396. because they have not yet been slain by the law they don't understand salvation they don't

  397. understand that they're corruptible or that they're sinners they have not yet been slain

  398. by the law a good way to say it is that they're not saved but they're safe in the Lord right

  399. and so in that regard they will go to heaven and guess what we have biblical proof of that now don't

  400. we where David's child died and David said I shall go to him but he should not return on to me why

  401. shall you go to him because David is saved so he knows full well that his child well that just

  402. means he was a leg it's nonsense my friends it's a godless doctrine that essentially has no

  403. love and this is a wicked god the Calvinist god is a wicked god who basically just doesn't care about

  404. people and by the way you know limited its home and is also another wicked doctrine because it basically

  405. says that the blood of Jesus Christ was not shed for the whole world even though the bible literally

  406. says that that it was only shed for the elect even though it literally says that his that his

  407. blood is the perpetuation for all men but yeah it's like oh no it's just all men really just

  408. means the elect okay so that's total depravity let's talk about unconditional election we've

  409. already hit on this a little bit and what does this mean unconditional election it means that god

  410. chooses people for salvation but it's not based upon foreseen faith in other words they believe

  411. that god just elects people for salvation and they can't do anything about it they're just

  412. that's just how special they are they just won the lottery the spiritual lottery and now

  413. they're elect for eternal life okay now this is very you know close closely related to predestination

  414. and people often assert well you don't believe in predestination predestination is in the bible

  415. and to that I say amen of course we believe in predestination we don't believe in the

  416. Calvinist definition though of predestination it's very different okay so when people say oh

  417. you reject predestination you need to respond with no we believe in predestination we just

  418. reject the Calvinist definition of we predict predestination actually means now let's read it here

  419. in Ephesians 1 verse 4 says according as he has chosen us in him oh that's important to note there

    Ephesians 1:4

  420. he chose us in him in who in Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy

  421. and without blame before him in love having predestinated us unto the adoption of children

  422. by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will skip down to verse number 11

  423. in whom also we have obtained an inheritance being predestinated according to the purpose of him

  424. who worked with all things after the counsel of his own will so we have a couple things here

  425. first and foremost we see in verse number four that we are chosen predestinated before

  426. the foundation of the world and I agree with that 100% and I'm explaining to you what the

  427. scriptural position to that phrase in this teaching is in just a bit but we see the term

  428. predestined being used here and what they'll assert is well people who are elect are simply

  429. pre-selected predestined for salvation this is what that's referring to we're predestined

  430. to the adoption we're predestined in him but what they neglect to do is to seek after

  431. the condition of predestination which is in the text now Calvinists are big on context

  432. just not when it comes to this so verse 11 says that they're predestined according to the purpose

  433. of him we work with all things after the counsel of his own will and I want you to notice verse 12

  434. that we should be to the praise of his glory listen to this who first trusted in Christ

  435. who first trusted in Christ so who are those who are predestined those who are

  436. those who have first trusted in Christ so once you trust in Jesus Christ now you're

  437. considered the predestined one before the foundation of the world now go to Romans

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  438. chapter 8 and then we're going to go to Revelation chapter 3 Romans chapter 8

Revelation 3 chapter mention Romans 8 chapter mention

  439. I'm going to read you a couple verses from Romans 8 and then we're going to we're going

  440. examine the before the foundation of the world because that's a strong argument that they have

  441. you can look at it and say oh I mean it does say there were chosen before the foundation

  442. of the world how are you what are you going to do with that how do you how do you reconcile that

  443. well let's look at Romans 8 first in verse 29 it says here for whom he did foreknow

  444. he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son that he might be the

  445. firstborn among many brethren moreover whom he did predestinate them he also called and whom he called

  446. them he also justified and whom he justified them he also glorified now what does the

  447. passage begin with whom he did foreknow this means that predestination being conformed to

  448. the image of his son being justified being glorified is based upon the foreknowledge of God

  449. not his foreselection it says foreknowledge foreknow basically means he knew who was going to accept

  450. Christ and who was going to reject Jesus Christ that's what it means to foreknow it means he knew

  451. ahead of time it doesn't say he selected ahead of time it says that he knew ahead of time so

  452. every single person who gets saved God already knows who's going to get saved

  453. doesn't choose them he knows okay now with that in mind let's go to Revelation chapter 3

    Revelation 3 chapter mention

  454. Revelation chapter 3 let's talk about the before the foundation of the world okay

    Revelation 3 chapter mention

  455. that they're chosen before the foundation of the world how is that how is that you know how

  456. do we reconcile being predestined and that they're chosen before the foundation of the world

  457. well let me let you in on a little secret that should not be a secret and that is that

  458. everyone's name actually starts off in the book of life okay you're like what our names are written

  459. down once you believe on Jesus Christ no it's already there in fact the bible never records

  460. someone being written down in the book of life after they believed on Jesus Christ

  461. the vast majority of verses in the bible that deal with the book of life

  462. often addresses those who have been blotted out so that means names are removed they're not added

  463. to the book of life why because the names are already there before the foundation of the world

  464. now let's read Revelation chapter 3 verse 5 here it says in verse number five he that

    Revelation 3:5

  465. overcomeeth the same shall be clothed in white raiment and I will not blot out his name out

  466. of the book of life but I will confess his name before my father and before his angels now

  467. to overcome according to 1 John chapter 5 is the equivalent to believing on Jesus Christ

    1 John 5 chapter mention

  468. you can read that in 1 John chapter 5 who is he that overcomeeth but he that believe

    1 John 5 chapter mention

  469. it that Jesus is the Son of God okay so someone who places their faith in Christ

  470. is the equivalent to someone who overcomes which by the way why would it be called

  471. overcoming if they didn't overcome anything if they're not able to choose

  472. it sounds like the bible is telling us here that the person has the responsibility to overcome

  473. their false ideology and believe on Jesus Christ to reject false gospels to reject a workspace

  474. salvation and overcome those things and place their faith in Christ whereas according to Calvinist

  475. theology no it's nothing that you do God is the one who invokes you to be saved he's the one

  476. that moves you to be saved and so forth well it says here that they have to overcome

  477. the point being here is that once you're saved the bible promises that your name will never be

  478. blotted out so that means every single person in this room if you place your faith in Jesus

  479. Christ exclusively for salvation your name is permanently embedded within the registry of the

  480. book of life it's never going to get blotted out doesn't matter what sins you commit

  481. doesn't matter if you backslide doesn't matter if you get out of church if you've

  482. already placed your faith in Christ you'll never be blotted out according to the bible go to

  483. revelation 17 revelation chapter 17 revelation chapter 17 if you would

Revelation 17 chapter mention Revelation 17 chapter mention

  484. revelation 17 verse 8 says the beast revelation 17 verse 8 the beast that thou sawest was and

    Revelation 17:8 Revelation 17:8

  485. is not and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit and go into perdition and they that dwell

  486. on the earth shall wonder whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation

  487. of the world when they be held when they behold the beast that was and is not and yet is so in its

  488. context this is addressing people who have taken the mark of the beast at which point their names

  489. have been blotted out of the book of life these are not saved people these are people who have

  490. worshiped the antichrist and by proxy are worshiping satan therefore their names are

  491. completely blotted out now how does this relate to refuting unconditional election well think

  492. about this unconditional election asserts that the elect are chosen before the foundation of the

  493. world and by proxy the non-elect are also chosen for eternal damnation whereas the bible teaches

  494. that every single person starts off in the book of life start off in the book of life and the

  495. bible says that if your names are not written in the book of life then you'll go into the

  496. lake of fire what is it showing us it's showing us that god originally intended for all men to

  497. be saved yeah that's his intention so unsafe people are currently listen to this in the book

  498. of life right now that's a fact they're blotted out once they die without christ yeah that's what

  499. the bible teaches why because he's not willing that any should perish and it's almost as if god

  500. in faith put your name in the book of life hoping that you come to the saving knowledge of

  501. jesus christ because he actually i don't know because he loves you because he doesn't want you

  502. to go to hell so this alone refutes unconditional election because it demonstrates that before

  503. the foundation of the world the elect are not the only ones that are chosen everyone is according

  504. to the bible he's calling all men everywhere to repent and to come to the saving knowledge of

  505. jesus christ but of course people are going to get blotted out people will be blotted out

  506. once they die and go to hell once they become reprobates they're blotted out but they're not

  507. written there they're permanently embedded within the registry once you believe on jesus christ

  508. you're no longer blotted out the point being here is that unconditional election is completely

  509. contrary to the word of god because it essentially asserts that you know god doesn't really love

  510. everyone else that's not true he's the savior of all men but especially those that believe

  511. for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son

  512. oh just kidding that's just for the elect and here's one thing that calmness can't reconcile

  513. you know when you give him all these passages of scripture that demonstrates that god loves the

  514. entire world they're like oh he does love the world but he's only giving salvation to the elect

  515. it's like yeah but it says that he gave he shed his blood for the whole world

  516. yeah he did for the whole world but it only applies to the elect

  517. well it says here that everyone can seek after god yeah but only those who are like actually seek

  518. after god like what is that it's all these things that are being inferred into the text

  519. this is what happens my friends when you just completely fall off the bible and you make

  520. up your own doctrines you just want to become a scholar of the bible and then you end up

  521. just vain jangling increasing onto more ungodliness and teaching just a bunch of damnable heresy

  522. and it's not in the bible so total depravity false doctrine unconditional election false doctrine

  523. what does it mean to be predestined it means that god has destined you after salvation to be

  524. conformed to the image of his son that's what that means it means you know this is what the

  525. bible says for by grace are you safe through faith and that not of yourselves that is the gift

  526. of god not of orcs the standing man should boast then it what is what does it say after that

  527. for we are his workmanship created in christ jesus right that we should walk in them he created

  528. us unto good works which gotta be foreordained that we should walk in them so what are we

  529. predestined for good works what are we predestined for to be conformed to the image of his son

  530. it's not like well i chose mori because you know i just like him i just rather have him

  531. and you know what a terrifying thought for calvinist parents all right isn't that a terrifying

  532. thought because what if you have kids you're just like which one of us are elect what if my

  533. kids are not elect what if just dealing with this absolute doubt in your mind of whether

  534. you're actually elect or not whereas the bible makes out the message of salvation very clear

  535. believe on the lord jesus christ and i shall be saved okay and look this is why a lot of

  536. calvinists there's calvinists out there they doubt their salvation and they should especially

  537. if they believe in this because a lot of people wonder like well i don't know if i'm really saved

  538. or not i don't know if i'm really the elect because i still desire to sin i still desire

  539. to do these things i'm not really persevering i'm out of church so i just don't know if i'm

  540. really the elect of god well not us you know the bible says that he may know the

  541. heavy eternal life you know i don't struggle with whether i'm whether i'm saved or not i

  542. got saved you know about 20 years ago and just never have to revisit that and wonder am i saved

  543. based upon my works right because it's already been settled for me that works cannot save me

  544. it's the finished work of jesus christ that saves and so forth so total the probability

  545. false doctrine unconditional election false doctrine go to john john chapter six if you would

  546. john chapter six john chapter six along with unconditional election is this idea of irresistible

  547. grace okay and this is kind of corny to me i'll just be honest with you this is just corny

  548. okay because basically what they're saying is like how do you know if you're the elect though

  549. well if you're just drawn to god because the grace of god is so irresistible it just

  550. you know you just you can't help yourself but become an elect person okay and you know

  551. the irresistible grace of god is only available to the elect so the totally depraved who are not

  552. elect they don't know what irresistible grace is they don't know what the grace of god is period

  553. okay you know basically irresistible grace is god's inward call to bring the elect to salvation

  554. all right this is just a very prideful arrogant doctrine i'll just be honest with you you know

  555. it's just arrogant it's prideful to think that you somehow merit eternal life just because

  556. you're chosen of god or something it doesn't make sense at all and it's completely against the bible

  557. now what are some of the verses that they'll use look at john six verse 37 it says here all that the

  558. father giveth me shall come to me and him that cometh to me i will in no wise cast out so they

  559. say the father gives them to me they will come to me and i'm not going to cast them out skip down

  560. to verse number 43 jesus therefore answered and said to them murmur not among yourselves

  561. no man can come to me except the father which had sent me draw him and i will raise them up at the

  562. last day so they use this to try to demonstrate the the doctrine of irresistible grace god draws

  563. that person there's just something within that individual that just wants to seek after the

  564. truth that wants to get saved it's just god's irresistible grace and it's not going to fail

  565. they will eventually come to the saving knowledge of jesus christ because of the grace of god

  566. now when it comes to this particular doctrine there's two separate types of grace according to them

  567. okay there's like a general grace and then they're saving grace because you know you

  568. you find throughout the bible is like i think grace is available to everyone

  569. he's like well yeah of course grace is available to everyone because god is just gracious but

  570. saving grace though is different saving grace is what motivates it's it's it's you know the

  571. grace of god that saves them so you know and it's just like well does god offer grace to like

  572. unregenerated people yes of course but just not for salvation then what is it for just just to give

  573. them grace for what and you you know you ask them like does the holy spirit work in unsay people

  574. it's like yeah but just not for salvation so for what just just to work in them

  575. and it's just like what so you're saying that is like well can unsay people understand

  576. like hear the gospel and yeah they can understand but they can't get sick no no they just can

  577. understand it but it's just not for salvation it's retarded that's right that's what it is

  578. now what does it mean here when it says that god draws people and because they're drawn

  579. they will eventually come they get saved and then he will no wise cast them out what does that mean

  580. well according to the Calvinist it's just this supernatural pull within them that god is working

  581. within them but that's not what the text says look at the text verse 45 it is written in the prophets

  582. and they shall be all taught of god every man therefore that had heard and had learned of the

  583. father cometh to me so what does it mean to be drawn into god it means that they're hearing

  584. the preaching of god's word you know how we're drawn to god by hearing the bible why because faith

  585. cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of god you know how faith is invoked in us you know how

  586. it's increased by the bible you know what draws us to jesus christ it's called the gospel of

  587. jesus christ that's what draws us to him you know that's what draws everyone to him

  588. so this idea that only the elect can be drawn of god only the elect have this irresistible grace

  589. wrong because anybody can hear the word of god anybody can and you know what it and they have the

  590. they have the ability to reject the gospel if they want to go with me if you would to titus

    Titus 2 chapter mention

  591. chapter 2 titus chapter 2 now the Calvinists again they will hear that and they'll say

    Titus 2 chapter mention

  592. well you're just mistaken the grace of god is for everyone but again saving grace is only for the

  593. elect okay we're not saying god's not gracious god is obviously gracious to all he's gracious to all

  594. he extends his grace to everyone but saving grace though is only for the elect really is that true

  595. look at titus chapter 2 and verse 11 titus 2 verse 11 for the grace of god listen to this

Titus 2 chapter mention Titus 2:11

  596. that bringeth salvation listen to this hath appeared listen to this to all men

  597. crap i mean that's what it says right isn't that what it says yeah you know you're saving grace

  598. that's what we've gotten grace of god that bring it salvation check well it's only for the elect

  599. appeared to all men everyone well when it says all men is just referring to like all kinds of men

  600. and more specifically the elect within those kinds of men and i'm telling you i'm not i'm not being

  601. facetious here that's literally what they'll say that's literally what they'll say you know so you

  602. tell me that when the bible says all men it doesn't really mean all of them like all of humanity

  603. no it doesn't just refers to the elect okay go to roman chapter 5 roman chapter 5

  604. now this is what you call cherry picking amen that's right see how so well how about this

  605. for all have sin and come short of the glory of god they'll say well that that refers to

  606. just everyone so when it says for all have sin that applies to everyone but when it says that

  607. the grace of god has appeared into all men it doesn't refer to everyone you got it

  608. that are not far from the kingdom of god

  609. okay look at roman chapter 5 and verse 18 it says therefore as by the offense of one judgment came

  610. upon all men to condemnation check it's for all men even so by the righteousness of one the

  611. free gift came upon all men unto justification of life so they will agree that the all men in

  612. first part of verse 18 refers to just everyone both elect and non-elect but somehow just conveniently

  613. the all men in the second half of the verse only applies to the elect even though both phrases

  614. in the same verse just say all men and look you can go in the original language it says all men

  615. it doesn't say all kinds of men it doesn't say the elect it doesn't say the chosen of god

  616. it just says all men you know but again this is what happens when people want to be scholars

  617. this is what happens when people just infer into the text things that are just not there my friends

  618. all men literally means just everyone okay go to act 17 act 17 again and then we're going

  619. to go to heber's chapter 6 so irresistible grace no it can be resisted actually it can be resisted

  620. and they'll often say well if an elect person receives the grace of god because the reason

  621. that they say it's irresistible once an elect person experiences that grace they have no choice

  622. but to like get saved that's just what they believe okay and again that's saving grace that power to

  623. save is only displayed to the elect so you got to keep that in mind okay it's very important

  624. they believe that saving grace and by the way what is grace grace is just getting what you don't

  625. deserve it's not like some power right it's not like some some supernatural power within us

  626. it just means we're getting what we don't deserve that's what it means for by grace are you saved

  627. it's basically you're getting saved not because you deserve it through faith and that not of

  628. yourselves it is the gift of god when it says not of yourself it's referring to the fact that the

  629. it's not of our works okay it's not by our own merit meaning that we receive it we see we receive

  630. unmerited favor not because of anything that we do okay look at act 17 in verse number 30 it

  631. says in the times of this ignorance god winked at but now commanded listen to this all men

  632. everywhere to repent now when you ask them about this they'll say well yeah that's for everyone

  633. of course but only the elect can come to the saving knowledge and so he's commanding even

  634. the non-elect to repent yeah but they can't repent nope but he's commanding them to yeah

  635. retarded you guys understand this yeah you look it's just like oh he's commanding all men

  636. because they can't refute the fact that it says all men it says it right there and it applies to

  637. the heathen because he's at mars hill in this passage of scripture and he's saying all men need

  638. to repent and it's just like yeah he commands it but the only people who can actually do it

  639. are the elect of god so according to their way of thinking unsaved unregenerated

  640. non-elect people are commanded to repent even though they just can't even though they can't

  641. change what they believe but they're still commanded to no matter what it's nonsense it's a demonic

  642. teaching okay let's go to heber chapter 6 heber chapter 6 heber chapter 6 while you're turning

  643. I'm going to read to you from act chapter 6 now again irresistible grace basically means

  644. that the elect are incapable of resisting the word of god okay they're incapable of resisting

  645. the grace of god i'm going to read to you from act 6 and verse 10 it says and they were not able

  646. to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he speaks so here we have people who cannot resist

  647. the word of god the grace of god is just irresistible they cannot resist but then later on

  648. they resist in their hearts the holy ghosts meaning that they're rejecting the gospel so they're not

  649. able to resist the wisdom and the power of the preaching of god's word it's coming to them

  650. but then later on they actually reject salvation you know why because anybody's able to understand

  651. and hear the gospel but you have a choice whether you're going to accept it or not

  652. okay heber chapter 6 and then we're going to go to second timothy

  653. second timothy chapter 2 now look so saving grace is for those who are elect once it

    2 Timothy 2 chapter mention

  654. once it goes to you the elect are enlightened they understand it and they just like chosen

  655. like this is what this is why i was born i was born for this okay well let's look at

  656. heber chapter 6 and verse 4 it says for it is impossible for those who are once enlightened

  657. and have tasted of the heavenly gift that were made partakers of the holy ghost and have tasted

  658. the good word of god and the powers of the world to come if they shall fall away to renew them again

  659. into repentance seeing they crucified to themselves the son of god afresh and put him to an open

  660. chain so this is addressing the reprobate the person who is in close proximity to the

  661. truth rejected it indefinitely and therefore are made a reprobate they're no longer

  662. you know available for salvation because they rejected it so much they hate their haters of god

  663. but here you see that they were enlightened meaning that the grace of god was made available to them

  664. they tasted of the heavenly gift in fact there were made partakers of the holy ghost

  665. these are all things that according to calvinist doctrine is only sanctioned for the elect

  666. people who will get saved this stuff doesn't happen to unsave people not elect people

  667. according to the calvinist they don't uh uh they're not enlightened they don't taste of the

  668. heavenly gift they're not made partakers of the holy ghost these are only supernatural actions

  669. that are only delegated to the elect but yeah we find here that these apostates it's impossible

  670. to renew them again into repentance meaning they're not going to get saved they have gone

  671. apostate that flies in the face of this idea that the grace of god the saving grace is only

  672. made available to the elect it's made available even to the reprobate believe it or not i mean think

  673. about this folks the bible literally says in second peter chapter two that there is false

  674. teachers among the false prophets among the brethren even as there should be false teachers

  675. among you who privately shall bring in damnable heresy denying even the lord god listen to this

  676. that bought them talking about false prophets were bought by the lord jesus christ he said

  677. does that mean they're saved no it just means that the lord sacrificed for them as well but they

  678. but what do they do they denied they chose to reject the lord jesus christ look at second timothy if

  679. you would second timothy second timothy chapter two and i think this portion of scripture that

  680. i'm gonna show you flies in the face of irresistible grace probably more than anything else it flies in

  681. the face of people not being able to choose okay more than anything else look what it says in second

  682. timothy chapter two and let's read verse 24 says the servant of the lord must not strive but be gentle

  683. into all men after teach patient in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves

  684. if god per adventure will give the repentance to the acknowledging of the truth listen what it says in

  685. verse 26 that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil who are taken captive by him

  686. at his will so where does the responsibility lie upon when it comes to getting saved according to

  687. this verse the person themselves it says that they need to recover themselves out of the snare

  688. of the devil well why if you have irresistible grace there's nothing to resist there's nothing

  689. to recover yourself from all you have to do is just let the grace of god come within you you're

  690. elect accept that fact and you're good to go but according to this they have to recover themselves

  691. in other words they have to overcome their false ideologies about the gospel and come to the saving

  692. knowledge of jesus christ now how does this look on a practical level well sometimes you'll talk

  693. to someone about salvation and they just can't get over the fact that it's by faith alone

  694. they think oh you have to do something on your part you got to get baptized you got to repent of

  695. your sins you have to do this that and the other you know what that person you know that person's

  696. problem is they can't recover themselves from this because the snare of the devil the devil has kept

  697. them in this deception that they have to repent of their sins to be saved that they have to do

  698. good works that they have to you know persevere in their works in order to be saved but as we

  699. show them the scripture as we are apt to teach them as we are demonstrating what the bible actually

  700. says what happens they end up understanding oh actually it says that it's not of works oh it's

  701. not by repenting of my sin oh it's not by baptism and if they come to the saving knowledge of jesus

  702. christ what have they done according to the biblical standard they recover themselves

  703. out of the snare of the devil why because it's everyone's choice my friends

  704. irresistible grace is a false doctrine now what do we see now the last two i'm not going to spend a

  705. whole lot of time on because they're just easy limited atonement we're already debunked at Jesus

  706. Christ blood was shed for everyone and then perseverance of the saints is the belief that

  707. you have to persevere in your works until the end in order to be saved okay and they'll often

  708. use Matthew 24 that says he that shall endure until the end the same shall be saved you know

  709. and you have a lot of false prophets that say this you know philip anthony is one of them

  710. let me just remind you that philip anthony is a damnable heretic he doesn't believe in the

  711. right gospel you know i know a lot of you like to post him because he's just so melodramatic

  712. he's so theatrical but you know what he's the guy in matthew seven who will say lord lord

  713. have not i cast out devils and in the prophesied in thy name and in thy name have done many

  714. wonderful works but god doesn't know him so how so because he denies the biblical form of

  715. salvation and he says you have to endure until the end to be saved you have to endure in your

  716. works to be saved that's damnable heresy my friends we need to get away from you know uh

  717. being so drawn in by false prophets just because they're so theatrical

  718. right they didn't do until the end shall be saved and then you see him as interviews in his podcast

  719. you just like so let me just say this right now i'm going to make a lot of people mad right now

  720. swipe people are powerful amazing wonderful you know we need to start checking people's doctrine

  721. yeah you know and look folks you need to recover yourself from the snare of the devil if that's

  722. you yeah and not just think that every single person on the internet is just saved yeah

  723. just because they have a large following just because they speak well you know you're like

  724. well i was drawn here because you speak well yeah but you can check my doctrine though

  725. and look here's the difference between me and philip philip anthony you can actually

  726. talk to me after the service i'm reachable we can literally fellowship as long as you want and we

  727. can just talk doctrine talk shop as long as you want he ain't doing that for you you know why

  728. because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh and they speak with great swelling

  729. words of vanity having men's persons in admiration because of advantage yeah and you know what it

  730. doesn't matter if he speaks christianese if he has a false gospel he's a he's a damn

  731. double heretic according to the bible that's what the bible actually teaches when you get away from

  732. this well i just there's so many people that really admire him and i feel like he says a lot of good

  733. things wrong way of determining if someone is is a good prophet or not the way you determine

  734. is like first and foremost what is their gospel presentation well he was against the the the

  735. lockdowns anybody is against the lockdowns that's not a good qualifier well you know

  736. he said some good stuff you know against whatever you know whatever's going on the the the trending

  737. issue that's going on doesn't matter you need to ask what does he believe about salvation

  738. does he believe in the right gospel or not and look sometimes one video just doesn't cut it

  739. let me explain something to you one video does not cut it at all why is that because

  740. these people speak out of both sides of their mouth that's why they will tell you what you

  741. want to hear it's literally what the bible tells us you know they will they they will scratch your

  742. itching ear because you're heaping up to yourselves you know these these false teachers and false

  743. prophets who simply want to placate you so they'll say oh yeah salvation is through jesus christ

  744. but then in the next video this is like yeah but you got to make sure you do worse because

  745. works validate whether you're saved or not that's a false gospel but check my videos

  746. any video where i talk about salvation is consistent all the way through all the way through and in fact

  747. you don't believe me to come talk to me yourself corner me you have every i give you the opportunity

  748. to just corner me after the service with bible in hand and we'll spar you can't do that with

  749. these false prophets because they're liars you know and during to the end according to

  750. matthew chapter 24 is not referring to the justification of the soul don't think it's just

    Matthew 24 chapter mention

  751. because the bible uses the word saved or salvation it's always referring to the justification of

  752. the soul because it's not when peter fell into the water and said lord save me he wasn't saying

  753. like i'm about to die i need to get saved real quick i need i need you to forgive me of my sins

  754. what do you say don't let me drown it just means to be delivered and what we're being

  755. delivered from depends upon the context of the chapter and the context of matthew 24 is what the

  756. tribulation and in fact the specific context is the great tribulation where believers are

  757. being put to death on mass and so he says if you're able to endure until the end your flesh

  758. will be saved you will be delivered from public execution that's literally what matthew 24

  759. mark 13 lu 21 all specifically teach but they love to pull that one verse and say oh we're gonna

  760. use this to show that you have to persevere in your works until the end in order to be saved wrong

  761. wrong doesn't work that way my friends and anybody who teaches you that believes in a workspace

  762. salvation let me say this if you believe that you believe in a workspace salvation and you

  763. need to get saved today that's right there's no shame in getting saved in a church there's no

  764. shame and you thinking well i guess i was wrong about that because here's the thing folks i rather you

  765. be wrong and get saved than you be prideful and arrogant remain wrong go out and die and split

  766. hell wide open because of it be a horrible fate for you be a horrible fate for you but you know

  767. that is your fate if that's if that's your belief that you have to endure in your works to be

  768. saved that's your fate that's your destiny but thankfully you can choose thankfully you're

  769. not a calvinist and you know what you're hearing the preaching of god's word right now and you know

  770. what this is god drawing you with the preaching of god's word unto salvation to believe on the

  771. lord jesus christ exclusively to be saved and you can't lose your salvation and guess what

  772. it's your choice whether you want to resist that or reject that plain and simple and so

  773. what is the sermon this morning i'm not a calvinist oh what are you a calvinist or

  774. armenian you know when i first heard that i'm like i know i look armenian sometimes but like

  775. but i'm like oh this is someone else this is like uh because armenians basically believe

  776. the the theologians believe in free will but they just disagree with calvinist so people

  777. just want to put you into these boxes you know oh if you're not for trump then you must be for

  778. democrat if you're just not for coke well i you know i'm i'm for coke i'm not for pepsi but

  779. i like canada dry i'll just be honest with you like i don't have to fit into your little box

  780. of what my belief system is here here here's the category you can put me into is just i believe

  781. the bible and again let me just say one of this last thing and i'm done okay just because

  782. someone says they believe the bible doesn't really mean that they believe the bible now does it

  783. just because they have in their bio bible believer i love the bible we gotta see what the bible says

  784. let's see what they actually say because if they give you one verse and the rest is just church

  785. history it's not true you know i'll give you an example you know that there's this belief

  786. amongst protestants that women should wear head coverings yeah a little doilies on the head

  787. you know i'm talking about that we're a cult looking thing that they got going on

  788. and they'll use first Corinthians 11 as a proof text as to why women should wear doilies on the

  789. head but of course when we actually look at it in its context it demonstrates that it's just

  790. referring to women having long hair now i've talked to these people and i'm like well this

  791. is what it says it says women the long hair is a covering unto them and this is literally

  792. what they say well you know that's not what the bible teaches i'm like it is look what it

  793. says right here and like well what do you think about church history though

  794. you know people in the early church used to practice i don't care what people practice in the early

  795. church bro you want to talk about early church how about the church of jerusalem they're just filled

  796. with jews is that the kind of church you want it was it's so close to the to the first century

  797. ad should we just fill our church with a bunch of jews you allow Pharisees to come in and

  798. Judaize the church no we shouldn't it's not right so it's just like you know the only way for them

  799. to substantiate their doctrine is by twisting the scriptures and then interpreting the bible

  800. through church history let's just stick to the bible amen so just because they say they believe in

  801. the bible doesn't make it so until they could actually only use the bible to tell you what

  802. they believe in fact let's pray father we thank you so much for your word help us as your people

  803. lord to recognize and to identify the right types of doctrines and lord we're thankful that

  804. we're chosen because we place our faith in jesus christ and lord it's not uh we placed our faith

  805. in jesus christ because we're chosen thankful that lord you want all men everywhere to be saved

  806. you're not willing that people should
