Morning by morning, you are waking my ear to hear
-
as one being taught by your spirit. Shalom, precious one.
-
God richly bless you for tuning in to Radio ACI
-
today for our morning glory devotion. The theme for today's
-
devotion is the Christ Let us kindly share a word
-
of prayer. Father, we thank you for the privilege to
-
listen to your word once again. Please open up our
-
hearts to receive your word. Grant us the grace to
-
be doers and not hearers deceiving ourselves. In Jesus' mighty
-
name we pray. Amen. Let us kindly take our confession
-
from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8.
-
This book of the law shall not depart out of
-
my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night,
-
that I may observe to do according to all that
-
is written in it. For then I will make my
-
way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen.
-
The grass, the birds, and our tomorrow. The grass, the birds,
-
and our tomorrow. A script written by Pastor and Mrs.
-
Amo Appiah. Our scripture reading is from Matthew chapter 6,
-
verses 25 to 34. Matthew chapter 6, verses 25 to 34.
-
reading from the New King James Version. Let us hear
-
the word of the Lord. Therefore I say to you,
-
do not worry about your life, what you will eat
-
or what you will drink, nor about your body, what
-
you will put on. Is not life more than food,
-
and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds
-
of the air, For they neither sow nor reap nor
-
gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are
-
you not of more value than they? Which of you
-
by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So
-
why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of
-
the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin.
-
And yet I say to you that even Solomon, in
-
all his glory, was not arid like one of these. Now,
-
if God so clothes the grass of the field, which
-
is today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will
-
he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
-
Therefore do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? Or
-
what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For
-
after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly
-
Father knows that you need all these things. But seek
-
first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all
-
these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not
-
worry about tomorrow. for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
-
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. May the
-
Lord add his blessing to the reading and hearing of
-
his word. Thanks be to God. The grass, the birds,
-
and our tomorrow. Anxiety rarely makes an appointment before it arrives.
-
It creeps into our minds immediately. In the quiet hours
-
of the night, it tightens around our hearts while we
-
drive to work. A sudden thought about our health, a
-
child who seems far from God, or a bill we
-
cannot see how to pay, and all at once our
-
peace evaporates. We find ourselves pacing the floor, trying to
-
solve problems that have not even happened yet. When worry strikes,
-
many believers are killed on top of their fear. We think,
-
if we were better Christians, we would never feel this way. Yet,
-
the scriptures never pretend that God's children will walk through
-
this fallen world untouched by fear. David did not write,
-
I never feel afraid. He wrote, what time I am afraid,
-
I will trust in thee. The fear comes, but that
-
is precisely where the battle begins. On a grassy hillside
-
by the Sea of Galilee, the Lord Jesus looked into
-
the tired eyes of ordinary men and women who were
-
consumed with survival. They were worried about their next meal,
-
their worn-out clothes, and what tomorrow might bring. Jesus did
-
not mock their weakness. Instead, he pointed to the sky
-
and to the ground. Look at the birds of the
-
air and consider the lilies of the field. The birds
-
do not store up food in the barns, yet God
-
feeds them each morning. The wild grass flourishes today, and
-
it's gone tomorrow, yet God closed it with beauty. Every
-
time anxiety takes the steering wheel of our hearts, it
-
is whispering an ancient lie, that when tomorrow comes, we
-
will be left entirely on our own. But tomorrow does
-
not belong to our troubles. Tomorrow belongs to our Father.
-
We cannot add a single cube to our lives by fretting.
-
Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It only
-
empties today of its strength. When our hearts begin to
-
raise today, let's lay every fear down at the feet
-
of Jesus and be reminded that God our Father has
-
already prepared for our tomorrow. Amen. Our memory verse for
-
today is from 1 Peter chapter 5 verse 7. 1
-
Peter chapter 5 verse 7, reading from the King James Version.
-
Casting all your care upon him, for he cared for you.
-
Casting all your care upon him, for he cared for you. Amen.
-
Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Father, we
-
thank you for your word today. Thank you for the
-
reminder today. that worries and anxieties do not solve our problem.
-
We look to you, O God, in our challenging times.
-
Help us to know that you are still with us
-
and that you will deliver us at the end of
-
the day. All glory and honor shall be unto you alone.
-
In Jesus' mighty name we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Beloved,
-
remember that worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow.
-
It only empties today of a strength. As you go
-
throughout the day, make an intentional decision not to allow worry.
-
Enter your day and your life will be blessed and
-
peaceful in Jesus' mighty name. Shalom and have a blessed weekend.
-
God richly bless you.
