  1. I'm thankful for the goodness of God.

  2. Amen.

  3. Thankful that Jesus is coming.

  4. Some people are fearful that they're not going to be ready when Jesus comes.

  5. Well, the truth is, there's no need to be fearful.

  6. Just get ready.

  7. Amen.

  8. And I'm looking forward to him.

  9. I'm getting myself ready every day.

  10. Amen.

  11. I'm checking up on myself.

  12. How about you?

  13. I don't uh, there's not a day that doesn't go by that I do not do self-examination.

  14. I promise you.

  15. I just do self-examination.

  16. When I worked for the mill and drove a company truck, I had a checklist.

  17. Every day I had to walk around, check the tires, and check certain things.

  18. And I just do my own life that way before I go to bed at night.

  19. I'll be examining myself according to the word.

  20. How did I do today?

  21. Some days I just have to say, forgive me, Jesus.

  22. And I know he does.

  23. Amen.

  24. We're not trying to live a sinful life, but how many would be honest?

  25. There are days when we look less like Jesus than we should, right?

  26. And but the goodness of God is he's going to encourage us today through the word.

  27. I believe that.

  28. I don't think that just don't randomly open the Bible and pick something out.

  29. I really seek the Lord.

  30. God, what would you have us to hear you say today?

  31. And so last week we talked about warfare and being more than victorious and conquerors through Christ and recognizing we have weapons.

  32. Well today, we're going to be in the epistle that Peter wrote, 2 Peter, chapter number 1.

  33. And we're going to look and see the truth of God's word compared to what we believe.

  34. And I hope that you believe everything that we open the word up to today.

  35. I hope you are already in agreement with that.

  36. But if there's some place that you're struggling with, then just understand that the Lord will speak to us today.

  37. And he surely will help us.

  38. And I'm going to go, I'm just going to read.

  39. I think last Sunday I read 12 verses.

  40. I'm not going to read 12 verses every time, but I want to take it out in the context of Scripture.

  41. So just bear with me for just a moment as we read the word.

  42. I listen to my sermons after I preach them, not to see how good I am, but to see where maybe I could improve.

  43. And I noticed this week I was listening to my sermon, and I thought, well, I speak slower than I thought I spoke.

  44. So forgive me if I speak too slow.

  45. I'll try to speed up and not go too fast.

  46. But I thought, man, I sound a little bit southern in my in my talking.

  47. But 2 Peter chapter 1.

    2 Peter 1 chapter mention

  48. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

  49. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of our and of Jesus our Lord.

  50. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue, whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

  51. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, and to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness, and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity.

  52. For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  53. But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

  54. Wherefore, the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and your election sure.

  55. For if ye do these things, you shall never fail.

  56. I would recommend underline that verse.

  57. For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into everlast into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  58. Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, for you know them and be established in the present truth.

  59. Let's pray.

  60. Father, we thank you for your word.

  61. We thank you for the Holy Spirit that is here today to help us.

  62. God, I thank you for this church body.

  63. I thank you for the believers that are gathered present here today to worship you and to hear your word.

  64. Lord, we ask that your word would stir us and encourage us.

  65. Make us aware, Father, today of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ for us individually and corporately as a body.

  66. And we thank you and we give you praise for it.

  67. I ask you for help today as I speak.

  68. Let there be grace upon it.

  69. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

  70. Amen and amen.

  71. Peter's written this letter, and then this greeting, he's addressing it to those who have obtained a faith in equal standing with theirs.

  72. And he says it's by the righteousness of God and of Jesus Christ that they have obtained this righteousness.

  73. And so it could be translated today as a faith that is equal in value, and faith in Jesus, it basically places all believers on equal footing.

  74. And so when we start out, we all start out in faith, right?

  75. There is no one that comes to Jesus on their own merit, their own goodness, or their own ability.

  76. We simply come to God through faith.

  77. And I say it like this, church: faith is the key that accesses all the benefits of the kingdom of God.

  78. We cannot come to God except we come through faith or by faith in his son Jesus Christ.

  79. And I'm aware that each person can have personal struggles in the things that we have been through or experienced or done in our life when we come to Jesus.

  80. We come with a whole lot of things, right?

  81. We come with a whole lot, a bag of things.

  82. We look at that as if that is anything too hard for God.

  83. We look at it as if, well, God, I've done this, and I need to get all these things right with you before I come to you.

  84. But we must understand today that we simply come as we are in faith to the one who's already paid the price.

  85. And Peter's, he is, he is addressing these believers.

  86. They are fellow believers in Christ, and he's making something known that we need to know today that we're all on equal ground when it comes to faith, right?

  87. When we start out, we start out in the same place.

  88. It's just like a race.

  89. You start at the starting point in your race, and there may be some that are running ahead of you that have been living for Jesus longer than you, and they have grown in their faith.

  90. But don't get discouraged looking at people ahead of you because they have grown in their faith.

  91. You have starting in the same place that they started in, and you just keep running your race in faith with Jesus Christ.

  92. Amen.

  93. And so the very first thing that I want to say today is to have faith in God, right?

  94. Don't have faith in faith.

  95. Have faith in the right person.

  96. Have faith in God.

  97. Because God is the one who's going to carry us through every trial, tribulation, and circumstance.

  98. You'll hear me say this time and time again in my preaching.

  99. We always start with Jesus.

  100. We must continue with Jesus and we'll finish with Jesus, right?

  101. We can get sidetracked along this journey sometimes because of circumstances.

  102. We can get caught up in the moment of things.

  103. We can get caught up in the trials and tribulations, but there's one thing that will bring us back to the right place, and that is faith in Jesus Christ.

  104. God doesn't say that you won't have tribulations.

  105. He doesn't say that you won't have trials or tests or circumstances.

  106. He doesn't say that we won't have troubles.

  107. But when we start out, we start out in faith in the Son of God.

  108. And so when we have faith in God, and we understand that God has given to every man the measure of faith.

  109. Romans chapter 12.

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  110. He has given you faith, he's given me faith, but we must act upon the faith that he's given us.

  111. Amen.

  112. And so what we understand that Peter is saying here to these men and women, they are saved and they are in the same position as children of God as he or the apostles are.

  113. Have you ever felt that you're way behind in your faith?

  114. You felt maybe felt that you're lacking in some areas.

  115. Well, today we're going to see that God has given us faith to act upon the Son of God.

  116. And in this faith, I thought of Zacchaeus.

  117. Remember Zacchaeus in the Bible, where he he wanted to see Jesus.

  118. He was short in stature, and he heard that Jesus was coming through Jericho and said he ran and he climbed up in a sycamore tree.

  119. I like to call it a seek him more tree, right?

  120. He was up in that sycamore tree so he could see Jesus over the crowd.

  121. And the Bible says that when Jesus came to that place, he stopped and he looked up in that tree and he said, called him by name.

  122. He said, Zacchaeus.

  123. He says, Come down, for today I'm going home with you.

  124. What God is looking for people that are seeking him.

  125. And God has given us faith that when he calls us, then we can answer the call and we can go, and Jesus can come and go with us wherever we go.

  126. And so I thought about Zacchaeus, but I also thought about Father Abraham.

  127. He is the one who the Bible says was the first one that God called out to begin the lineage of Jesus Christ.

  128. He is called the Father of faith.

  129. And so God recognizes faith when he sees it.

  130. Amen.

  131. Now it doesn't say this in the Bible, but I tend to believe that Abraham was seeking God because the Bible tells me in Jeremiah 33 that when we seek God with all our heart, he'll be found of us.

  132. When you're seeking for God, he'll make himself known.

  133. And so the Bible doesn't specifically say that Abraham was seeking for God, but I tend to believe that he was looking for God.

  134. And God shows up one day and God says, Abraham, he says, I want to make you a great nation.

  135. He says, I want you to follow me.

  136. And Abraham is 75 years old, and he's thinking, hold on a second, I want to know you, God.

  137. But look, I've already got a house, I've got a home, I've got some livestock and some servants.

  138. Lord, I'm kind of settled in here.

  139. But there was a desire in Abraham that we all have in us is to know the God of the Bible.

  140. Amen.

  141. And so when he called Abraham, he acted in faith.

  142. How do we know that?

  143. Because the Bible says in Hebrews that he looked for a city whose builder and maker was God that he had never saw before.

  144. What's the equivalent of that?

  145. It's like somebody telling you they're, I can't even compare this to this, but say somebody tells you about the best steak they've ever eaten in their life.

  146. And it sparks an interest in you if you're if you're a steak lover, right?

  147. And they say, you know, it's within driving distance.

  148. It's about a two-hour drive.

  149. And but they brag on that steak so much that one day you've had enough of hearing about it, you want to experience it for yourself.

  150. And so you make sure your car's up to par and it it can make it two-hour drive.

  151. And so you put the fuel in it, you make sure you got your money, and you drive there expecting that what they said, you will experience the same thing.

  152. Well, when we hear what God did for Abraham as a father of faith, and we understand that we are children of faith in Jesus Christ, we should live with an expectancy in our life that we will know the God of the universe personally and in our own lives.

  153. Amen.

  154. And that's why we must have faith in God.

  155. James 2, you can read it later, 23 through 26, but it says that Abraham believed God, and I put this down, he kept on believing God, and he kept following God, he kept trusting God, and he kept working out his faith.

  156. You can't tell me that there were low times, there weren't low times in Abraham's life.

  157. There were times that Abraham was fearful that he would lose his life.

  158. Remember that story?

  159. When he told his wife, he says, You're beautiful, and when we come into Egypt, they're gonna kill me so they can have you for their own.

  160. And he says, when we get there, he says, just tell them you're my sister.

  161. What is that called?

  162. A three three-letter word.

  163. L I.

  164. The father of faith was afraid for his life, and he lied.

  165. Now the good news is God knew that Abraham would be afraid before he ever called him.

  166. God knew that he would go down to Egypt, he would be fearful for his life, and he would lie about his wife to protect himself.

  167. God knows everything about us today, all that we will do, all that we will fail.

  168. But God, in spite of all those things, he has called us his children, and he has given us faith to believe him.

  169. Now, I know that there are days we're going to struggle with believing.

  170. You can say amen later when you're at home by yourself if you want to.

  171. Say amen to that, what he said, Brother Eric, today.

  172. God, I agree with him.

  173. But the truth is, we are human people.

  174. But God is extraordinary in the ordinary.

  175. Amen.

  176. All right, let me get back on my notes.

  177. I don't want to travel too far.

  178. But God says that we have faith.

  179. And on the hard days as well as the good days, Abraham believed and trusted in God's faithfulness.

  180. We must likewise believe and trust in God's faithfulness.

  181. We have faith today.

  182. Don't ever say that you don't have faith.

  183. You have faith.

  184. Now the Bible says Abraham being not weak in faith, considered not his own body.

  185. What does that mean?

  186. He didn't look at the circumstances as if they were too hard for God.

  187. And the Bible says he was not weak in faith concerning what God could do.

  188. So that tells me today we can be weak in faith or we can be strong in faith.

  189. But what we do, putting our faith and trust in God, is going to depend where we stand.

  190. And I know there are moments that I probably have been weak in my faith.

  191. But God was able to carry me through that.

  192. And God will carry us through those moments.

  193. I want to come to my next point that that takes all the all the weight you're probably feeling right now on your faith.

  194. And I'm going to tell you what God has done according to the scripture we just read.

  195. Verse number three, it says, according as his divine power, he has given us some things.

  196. Did anybody catch what I just said?

  197. The Bible says he has given us all things.

  198. Look at your neighbor, just nod at them.

  199. He has given us all things.

  200. A-L-L.

  201. He has given you everything that you need as a child of God.

  202. He says that pertains to life and godliness.

  203. On those days we say, Lord, this Christian life is too much.

  204. I don't have what it takes.

  205. Come back to this verse and read it again.

  206. Because he is not telling you something that he has given someone else.

  207. He is speaking to children of faith.

  208. He has given us all things or everything that you'll need to live this life that he has called us to live.

  209. Now I want to bring you back to what I just said.

  210. There are some people that have been running this race a lot longer than you, and they may look that they're almost too far ahead that you'll never gain that.

  211. Anybody ever felt that way?

  212. But you're running the same race.

  213. And you're going to be up there in that place one day.

  214. Have you ever ran cross-country?

  215. Anybody ever run cross-country?

  216. It's not a track where you can see people.

  217. They'll get out of eyeshot, right?

  218. And you're running through the country, running through the woods, and every now and then you'll pass somebody up.

  219. Right?

  220. They're exhausted and you pass them up.

  221. But have you ever saw later on they catch their second wind, Brother Cooper, and they come on back by you again?

  222. You're going up a tough spot and they've already.

  223. This is a race.

  224. Don't get discouraged by what other people run.

  225. You run your race in faith with Jesus Christ.

  226. We're here to encourage you today.

  227. If you're a child of God and you have faith in God, He has given you everything, all things that pertain to you living a life of godliness and holiness and righteousness for Him.

  228. But there are days we run into walls.

  229. There are days we feel it too much.

  230. But I look at it like this: He has given us a vehicle that carries us through this world.

  231. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God are helping us in every place of our lives.

  232. There's not anything that we need that God's not already provided for us.

  233. But it is experienced through knowing or having a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  234. Here's the truth.

  235. I know my wife better today than the day we said I do.

  236. Right?

  237. The day we said I do, it was really vague.

  238. There were a lot of experiences to be to come.

  239. There were a lot of surprises.

  240. There were a lot of battles and discouragements and I'll say even arguments to come.

  241. There were learning that we're different people, but learning the qualities of who she is has come over time.

  242. And it's just like that with Jesus.

  243. When we say, Lord, I want to be your child, I want to be born again, we start that walk with Him.

  244. But the longer we live for Jesus, the more we know Him.

  245. Right?

  246. Experiential knowledge that I know Jesus more today than the day I was saved.

  247. I'm not more saved.

  248. Right?

  249. I'm just as saved as I was, but I know him more.

  250. And I know his faithfulness more.

  251. So that he says that we have all that we need so that we might become partakers or overcomers or successful as his children.

  252. He says, enjoying the divine nature of the born-again experience, having escaped the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desires.

  253. Now, you're never gonna get so old or so close to God or so wise in knowing the Lord that you won't have an opportunity for sinful desires to arise.

  254. Let me just show what are you talking about, Brother Eric.

  255. I'll just say this.

  256. We can become prideful in our accomplishments, and that would be sin because the Bible says we can do nothing without Jesus.

  257. We got to go back to Jesus every time and say, Lord, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here.

  258. I want to encourage you today.

  259. He everything you need, he's given you.

  260. And he is, he is, let me say this.

  261. I I want to be uh one that it that it that cheers people on for Jesus.

  262. Right?

  263. I don't want to be one trying to trip people up.

  264. If somebody uh can sing better than me, I don't want to try to sing louder to cover them up.

  265. Right?

  266. Sister Pat's got a beautiful voice.

  267. I don't know.

  268. Some of you sing so quietly, I don't hear your voice, but sometimes I can hear her.

  269. I'm not trying to make her prideful because the rest of you may just have this beautiful voice, but she's right behind me, and it'll come.

  270. And I said, She's got a pretty voice.

  271. I'm not trying to butter you up, Sister Pat.

  272. You don't have to bring me a cake later on.

  273. But the thing about it is, we could become prideful in our accomplishments, but we must come back to his divine power.

  274. His abilities is working in my life.

  275. He is helping me.

  276. I don't want to live a defeated life.

  277. I don't want to, I don't want to be discouraged all the time.

  278. I want to live an overcoming life.

  279. And I thought about that song we used to sing, victory today is mine.

  280. Amen.

  281. Not tomorrow, next week, not I'm working toward it, but I'm victorious today.

  282. Like the old, the old the old story, there was a there was a nobleman, and he was going to have his portrait painted, and he was not a very attractive man.

  283. And he told him, he says, Well, if you're going to paint my portrait, paint it warts and all.

  284. Don't embellish it.

  285. Just put it all on there.

  286. And I'm telling you, whatever you've got in your life as a believer, a faithful child of God, he has equipped you to say this.

  287. Victory today is mine.

  288. You know, we need to let the devil hear us say that sometimes.

  289. He needs to hear you say that when he's been riding your back.

  290. Victory is mine because God's given me everything I need.

  291. It may be a tough day, but I declare today I have everything I need to be an overcomer in Jesus Christ.

  292. And so that I might partake of this divine nature.

  293. And Abraham believed God, but he put action to his believing and he moved from where he was seeking for that city whose builder and maker was God.

  294. And listen to me today, church, you can live an overcoming life because of God, but not because of what other people have done or their relationship with Jesus.

  295. I worked with a guy at the mill, and I hated to see him coming.

  296. I got tense when I saw him coming.

  297. He was about 6'5, and he was intimidating in the fact that I knew that he was going to give me a hard time.

  298. I hated to see him come.

  299. Right?

  300. And one day I just had to stand up to it and tell him the truth.

  301. What can I do to make you happy is what I ask him.

  302. Nothing I've done is right.

  303. And you know, when I stood up, I overcame that intimidation.

  304. I was still a child of God, but I was just going through things.

  305. I'm here to tell you today, everything that we go through, he's given us the ability to look it square in the face and say, hold on a second.

  306. I'm a child of God.

  307. It's not the best situation, but I'm more than a conqueror through Jesus, and I have everything I need to stand firm in my faith that I'm a child of God.

  308. But he tells us in this in this verse that I read, and here's what I want to bring to a conclusion today.

  309. Help us, Lord, to do this.

  310. He says, for this very reason that we're partakers of the divine nature, because you're a child of God, for this very reason, he says, make every effort.

  311. Now, you cannot add anything, I cannot add anything to the salvation experience.

  312. Jesus saved us, he did the saving, we did the receiving, right?

  313. But in order for our faith to be strong and to flourish and to grow, the effort is on us, not on God.

  314. Bear with me.

  315. I know if this seems it seems contradictory, but it's not.

  316. The seed is the word of God, it's effective.

  317. Plant it in good ground, it will grow.

  318. But do you remember what Jesus said in the parable of the vine dresser?

  319. That the Lord was not happy because there was no fruit.

  320. And he says, Dig it up.

  321. It's just taking up space in my garden.

  322. It's not doing any good.

  323. And the vine dresser said, Hold on a second.

  324. He said, Let me dig around it and fertilize it and let me put some nutrients to it and let's see if it will change the circumstance.

  325. And he said, That if it doesn't, then you can cut it up.

  326. What we do with the faith is that we put the things with the faith that is going to help it to grow.

  327. And here's what he says he's not insisting that we do it in our own power, but to make effort by the help of the Holy Spirit in our faith, or to supplement our faith.

  328. Does anybody take vitamins?

  329. We do.

  330. Now you get those vitamins out of the food, but this is just extra, right?

  331. This is supplementing that vitamin need.

  332. And here's what he says we supplement our faith with.

  333. He says, add to your faith virtue, moral courage.

  334. I needed that.

  335. Not that we get on a soapbox and we yell at everybody that's doing wrong or come out, but just to have the fortitude to stand and not be moved when the enemy's pressing you to move.

  336. Amen.

  337. Don't run every time the enemy says boot, right?

  338. Stand your ground.

  339. Stand firm in the faith.

  340. Have some moral courage.

  341. He says you need to add that to your faith.

  342. Knowledge.

  343. Five times Peter mentions of knowledge in the Bible.

  344. The Bible says we're destroyed.

  345. God's people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.

  346. Five times he mentions knowledge in this one chapter.

  347. What is the knowledge he's speaking of?

  348. He's talking about knowing Jesus, being anchored in the truth of who Jesus is.

  349. The more you get anchored in knowing who Jesus is, your faith begins to be solidified, that you understand that through Jesus Christ, I can do all things.

  350. He's more than enough for my life.

  351. Nothing the enemy does shall prosper because of Jesus in my life.

  352. He's a shield all around me.

  353. He's the glory and the lifter of my head.

  354. He's my help.

  355. He's my deliverer.

  356. He's my sustainer.

  357. We put that to work in our life.

  358. Our faith begins to be stronger, held up by who Jesus is.

  359. Self-control.

  360. I think we all could use a dose of this in Walmart, right?

  361. Anybody beside me look for the shortest line, and it's always the self-checkout line.

  362. Right?

  363. I don't want a self-checkout.

  364. I want somebody to check me out.

  365. But but self-control just is simply personal discipline.

  366. Stop believing that you can't be an overcomer or be stronger or be helped.

  367. You have everything, all things have been given to you through Christ Jesus, that you can live a godly, righteous life.

  368. Self-control, personal discipline, steadfastness.

  369. He says, add to self-control, steadfastness are to be fixed, unwavering, constantly loyal.

  370. Belief in our action, following Jesus.

  371. It takes steadfastness, church.

  372. You don't really get anywhere if you just work on a project once a year, right?

  373. You've got to work on it daily.

  374. It doesn't matter what it is, whatever you're working at, you have to be consistent, steadfast with that.

  375. Just keep applying the word of God to your life, and you will grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  376. He says, Godliness, add to steadfastness, godliness.

  377. And that just simply is a quality of being devoted to God.

  378. Just saying, God, I'm going to serve you.

  379. God, I'm going to live for you.

  380. What with the old song we used to sing, if none go with me, still I will follow.

  381. I've decided to follow Jesus.

  382. So glad our two sisters.

  383. We call each other brothers and sisters in Christ, but they're literally sisters.

  384. Made a commitment that they didn't just come to church once to hear the word of God, but they want to be in fellowship with other believers and with God.

  385. So y'all showed up.

  386. You ever feel like you show up and remember when we had sports teams?

  387. Maybe you were the star athlete.

  388. If I played sports, I was the one, the one sitting on the bench, right?

  389. Waiting for a chance.

  390. Put me in, coach.

  391. But you had to show up because you may get to play today, right?

  392. You just show up as a Christian every day that you get up.

  393. When you get up out of bed in the morning and say, God, thank you for another day.

  394. Whatever you want me to do, God, I'm listening.

  395. And you may go through the day and maybe maybe nothing big happens, but you were available, you were ready, you were devoted, and you were you were adding to your faith.

  396. God, I showed up.

  397. I'm here.

  398. Amen.

  399. And to godliness, he says, brotherly affection.

  400. Can I can I compliment y'all?

  401. I have felt that in this church.

  402. I have not felt unwelcomed any time that I've been here.

  403. I felt the love of Christ from your life.

  404. Let me tell you, that's a quality that is it is supplementing your faith.

  405. Have you ever heard the scripture that says, give and it shall be given unto you?

  406. You ever heard that scripture?

  407. Love your neighbor as yourself.

  408. Brotherly kindness, when you're showing that, just wait, it's coming back.

  409. When you love others, others will love you.

  410. Do you believe that?

  411. The world calls it karma.

  412. We don't call it karma.

  413. We call it, we call it God's promises that when you do, when you sow, you reap.

  414. You do good to others, and you're gonna have other others do good to you.

  415. You're if you're ugly to people, how many ever had had people be ugly to you and then it came back on them?

  416. Somebody was ugly to them, right?

  417. Well, reaching out with mercy and grace to other believers is brotherly kindness.

  418. If you see somebody that needs a hand, reach out a hand.

  419. You see someone needs encouragement, encourage them.

  420. If you feel that God is leading you to pray for someone, pray for them.

  421. And when you do these things, the Bible says that you are adding to your faith these things, and it is making your faith grow in Jesus Christ.

  422. And he says this in this chapter, he says, if you do these things, and he does mention charity or love, the last thing to add to that, and the Bible says love is the greatest gift.

  423. So add love to that, and it's it's it's all together, God working in these things, and he says, if we do these things, we shall never be.

  424. Here's the word that God showed me, stood out so strong the other day, ineffective or fruitless.

  425. Look at your neighbor and just just look at him and tell them, oh, you're never gonna be ineffective.

  426. I'm I'm I just feel that so strongly in this message.

  427. I have often, I'm just gonna bury my heart, felt so far behind, ineffective, not measuring up.

  428. And what happened was I had got my eyes off of supplementing my faith, and I got them on my circumstances, my abilities, my giftings, where I was in life, has nothing to do with what Peter is saying to the church here.

  429. He is saying to us in essence, wherever you are, whatever you're going through, your faith in Jesus Christ, equal with every saint of God that's ever been born again, that same faith is working in your life as you add to that faith that you will be fruitful and effective wherever you are.

  430. What an amazing revelation.

  431. I feel better just knowing that Peter wrote this letter to us today.

  432. So we think, well, who did he write this to?

  433. Who's holding the letter?

  434. Just put your name in there.

  435. He's saying to you today, stop looking in the rear view mirror.

  436. I heard someone say that recently.

  437. Have you ever drove to town looking in the rear view mirror the whole way?

  438. And the answer is no.

  439. You would crash.

  440. Periodically, we'll check our rear view.

  441. But we're looking ahead.

  442. Because where we're going is not where we've been.

  443. Let that sink in.

  444. Where God is taking us as his children, we've never been there before.

  445. I feel it.

  446. Does anybody has anybody felt that lately?

  447. It just feels like a new season.

  448. Feels like just where you go, it just feels different.

  449. You say, well, we don't go by feeling.

  450. I know it, but every now and then, Holy Spirit will let us feel something.

  451. Right?

  452. I I have felt that way.

  453. I told Angela yesterday.

  454. I said, I just want to share something with you.

  455. I said, I just felt that God was showing me some things.

  456. And I've talked to talked to a few people.

  457. I said, you know, I've had such peace in my life.

  458. I said, I just feel like that the it's just feel like the cloud of the Holy Spirit's just everywhere we we go.

  459. Not that we're here to angels sing, not that anything that we could see it with our eyes has changed so much, but just the assurance that that God's presence.

  460. Talk with Brother Gary and Sister Jennifer this week.

  461. Some of the things y'all said just kind of affirm that God's just working.

  462. And I'm here to encourage you today.

  463. That faith that He's given you, it's not a stagnant faith, it's an ever-growing faith.

  464. That vehicle, Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and faith in Jesus Christ, carrying you places that you've never been.

  465. And when you get there, just like Abraham, just be expectant.

  466. It's a city whose builder and maker is God.

  467. Hallelujah.

  468. Father, I'm so thankful that you didn't leave us here as orphans.

  469. You didn't leave us to do it in our own ability, our own power, our own wisdom, our own discretion, Lord.

  470. But you said that you would send the Holy Spirit and that He would lead us.

  471. And He would empower us, enable us, and help us.

  472. And God, today we thank you for the faith in Jesus Christ that you've given to us, Lord, that we have accessed this salvation by faith.

  473. And God, I thank you, this faith is powerful.

  474. God, you said that if we have faith, as it were, a grain of mustard, so just a little faith, Lord, is powerful enough for God for you to operate in.

  475. And today, God, I speak to this faith in this in this uh this congregation today.

  476. I just speak over the faith as we close in prayer that this faith is a faith that is heaven-cent.

  477. It's a faith that's from you, God.

  478. It's not a faith that's sterile, it's not a faith that's that's that's dead, it is alive in Jesus Christ.

  479. And I say today, Lord, that faith is growing.

  480. And I thank you, God, that you're blowing upon us, Lord, with the wind of the Spirit.

  481. God, you're moving in our life.

  482. And God, this faith will not be ineffective.

  483. Our lives will not be useless, but Lord, our lives shall be for the glory and the praise of your name.

  484. So I just speak over us today as we close in prayer, Lord, that we're more than conquerors.

  485. We have everything we need.

  486. You've given us all things.

  487. And so, Lord, we say thank you for equipping us.

  488. And Lord, now we just supplement that faith.

  489. We begin to we begin to to put the things in order, Lord, today.

  490. We add to our faith.

  491. And we thank you, God, that we'll see your glory upon our lives in the days to come like we've never seen before.

  492. Help us to reach the lost.

  493. Help us to encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ to run on.

  494. The race is a race to be run, and we will finish it with your help in Jesus' mighty name.

  495. Amen and amen.

  496. Hallelujah.

  497. I'm thankful for that faith in Jesus Christ.

  498. Amen.

  499. He's giving it to you.

  500. Just keep it in the right place.

  501. Keep it in him.

  502. Amen.

  503. Do you need prayer for anything before we leave?

  504. Any specific needs?

  505. Stand with me if you would.

  506. Let's pray for one another.

  507. Can we do that as we close?

  508. Grab the hand of the one next to you if you feel comfortable doing that.

  509. Let's pray for one another.

  510. God, we thank you, Lord, for the word of God.

  511. Thank you for this church body.

  512. God, we pray for one another today, God.

  513. We ask you, Lord, let us, Lord, be mighty in faith, God.

  514. Let us not be weak in faith.

  515. Let us not be troubled in faith.

  516. But Lord, let our faith grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  517. I pray today, Lord, that anytime the enemy comes in, that you lift up a standard against him.

  518. Help us, Lord, to use the word of God this week over our lives.

  519. Lord, let us pray the word.

  520. Let us put the word to use in our lives, God, and keep us, Lord, in the days that we live in.

  521. Let others come to know you through the light of Jesus in our lives.

  522. And we thank you for it.

  523. God, we give you everything that we have, and we say, use us for your glory and your honor.

  524. Keep us till we come again into this place.

  525. Help us, Lord, in every place of our life.

  526. We'll give you all the praise and the glory.

  527. We ask it in Jesus' mighty name.

  528. Amen and amen.

  529. Praise the Lord.
