An Invitation Into A New Season With God | Guided Prayers

When a season ends, a graduation, the end of a job, the kids moving out, and the house going quiet, it can leave you genuinely unsure of who you are without the same rhythms and responsibilities.

The ground you stood on for years suddenly isn't there anymore.

In Isaiah 43, 19, God speaks straight into that disorientation.

See, I am doing a new thing.

Now it springs up.

Do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

God first said this to people in exile, grieving the life they'd lost, stuck in their own wilderness, staring backward at what used to be, blind to anything ahead.

And he gently turns their head forward.

He doesn't promise the old back.

He promises a new way, springing up in the very place that looks like a wasteland.

Your deepest identity was never this season anyway.

It's that you are his and he has fresh paths waiting for you.

Let's begin by thanking God for his faithfulness through every season you've walked through, that his love for you never once wavered or ended.

Thank him that he is, even now, a God of new beginnings.

What fear about your identity or your future do you need to hand to the Lord right now?

Loosen your grip on the past and ask him to fill that empty space with his peace.

Ask him to guide your steps through this next chapter.

Let your breathing settle.

Picture a dry, cracked wasteland, and then a stream beginning to cut through it.

Water where there wasn't any.

Tell him in the quiet, you are making a way.

Ask him to help you believe it and trust him for it.

Ask God to comfort them, quiet their anxieties, and anchor them in His purpose as they step into the unknown.

Forgive us for clinging to old seasons when you're inviting us into something new.

We give you our futures today, trusting that your plans are good.
