The Hunger for More

You have your Bibles if you can turn to Psalms

42, 1 through 2. And then we will be reading

a supporting text in Psalms 27, 8. So Psalms

42, 1 through 2, if you have it, say amen. I'll

wait. Should I wait? Amen. Do you have it? Say

amen. Amen. The word of the Lord goes on to read,

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants

my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts, someone

say thirsts, for God, for the living God. Someone

say living God. In our supporting text, Psalms

Psalms 27:8

27, verse 8, it reads, And when you said, Seek

my face. My heart said to you, your face, Lord,

I will seek. Your face, Lord, I will seek. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we come before you today, God.

We give you honor. We give you glory, Lord. We

ask you, Lord, to open up our hearts, open up

our minds, God. Lord, that we would receive your

word today, Lord. Lord, I'm merely a vessel,

Father. Lord, I ask you, Lord, to use me, Father.

Lord, anoint my lips of clay, God. Lord, to deliver

the word that you have for your church today,

God. Lord, let us, Lord, help us, let it help

us to understand, Lord, what you are saying and

what you want from your people today. We give

you honor. We give you glory. In the name of

Jesus, we say amen. You may be seated. I have

a question for everyone today and you don't have

to respond. Amen. But are you hungry today? Amen.

Loud amen way in the back. Amen. If you're hungry,

then what are you hungry for? What are we hungry

for? There is something about hunger that brings

how you and I behave. There is something about

hunger that changes how you and I behave. You

ever been hangry? Yeah. Are you the nicest person

when you're hangry? No. Right? Who's nice when

they're hangry? Anybody nice when they're hangry?

No, you're not. My wife says like this. Nobody's

nice when they're hangry. You're just hungry,

right? You want something to eat. And so when

you get to this point and you truly feel that

hunger, you'll basically settle for anything.

Like food is not an inconvenience. That is, those

of you that are married, you know what I'm talking

about when I say that that is the ultimate question

that comes to mind. When you're hungry, where

do you want to eat? I don't know. What do you

want to eat? I don't know. What are you in the

mood for? I don't know. What are you in the mood

for? Right? So the good husbands that we are,

right? Wink, wink. We go down the list. Hamburger,

pizza, French fries. I mean, you go down that

list. Tacos. I mean, and the answers are no,

no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't. No, no, no.

Okay, then what do you want? I don't know. What

do you want? Right? It just goes back and forth

until someone finally settles on whatever it

is. And it's usually the first thing you mention.

Right? It's usually like your go -to, whether

that's tacos or hamburgers or salad, whatever

it is. Right? You usually go back to that. But

it changes our behavior. And so what happens

is that hunger is no longer an inconvenience

and it rearranges our schedule. Because we allow

it to. We allow it to drive us out of our way.

Like if you were headed somewhere, like, I don't

know, somewhere important, right? And then you

just get hungry and you just can't wait. You

weigh something and then you allow it to take

you off track for a moment. Right? Because now

it was important to get to where you were going

on time. But now I don't care if I show up 10

minutes late. I need to eat. So we allow it to

take us off track. We go out of our way, and

we'll even wait in line once we get there. Sometimes

I ask myself, like, you're such in a hurry, you

couldn't wait to eat, and now you're waiting

in this long line. Why do we do these things?

Why do we behave this way? What's the answer?

We're hungry. We'll do anything we need to do

to get what we need to get. to satisfy our hunger.

Now, the one thing that is strange about appetite

and being hungry, it creates a pursuit, right?

You were no longer in pursuit of food, but now

you are. You were no longer in pursuit of In

-N -Out that's all the way across town. But now

you're in pursuit to getting to where you need

to go because you're hungry. So hunger creates

pursuit. And I believe that one of the most important

questions that we can ask today as a church,

and the church can ask itself is, how hungry

then are we for God? How hungry are we for God?

And I'm not talking about being hungry for another

position in the church. I'm not talking about

pursuing another title. I'm not talking about

the hunger for more influence. I'm not talking

about the hunger for recognition. I'm not even

talking about the primary. reason why we come

to church and to give God praise and to give

God glory. We could do that all day in and out

every day. But what I am asking you for is, or

the question is, how hungry are you for God?

Are we hungry for God? David said, my soul thirsts

for God, for the living God. Now, notice that

David doesn't say that my soul thirsts for what

God can do for me. My soul thirsts for another

blessing. My soul thirsts for another breakthrough.

No, that's not what David said. David said, my

soul thirsts for God. The living God. And there

is a difference between seeking God's hand and

seeking God's face. His hand represents what

he provides. In Psalms 104, 28, it reads, and

when you give it to them, they gather it up.

When you open your hand, they are satisfied with

good things. How many of you love to be blessed?

Oh, come on. Come on. I know I'm talking to some

blessed people in the house today. How many of

you love to be blessed? How many of you love

to receive gifts? Some of y 'all should have

took off running. I know some. How many of you

love that? Just out of nowhere, someone just

comes and says, hey, I just want to bless you

with this. Usually it's a gift card for what?

Food, right? Coffee, right? The things that we

love. But do we reject those things? No. Sometimes

we look at the gift card and say, five bucks?

What can I get for five dollars? Hey, if you're

going to bless me, man, you got 20 bucks, 30.

Come on, you got to give me like a week's supply

here, right? We'll accept blessings. We love

receiving blessings. And that's good. That's

great. But then when it comes to the Lord, we

also get in the habit of doing the same things.

Seeking God's hand because that's what he can

provide us with. His face, though, represents

his presence. In 1 Chronicles 16, 11, it says,

look to the Lord and his strength. Seek his face

always. And sometimes we can become so focused

on what's in his hand that we stop to seek his

face, his presence. We pray, Lord, bless my family.

Lord, open up another door for me. Lord, fix

my situation. Lord, provide for me because I

need to be provided for. Lord, you will never

leave me nor forsake me. We start reminding God

what his word says, right? You said you would

always be there for me, God. You said that if

I knock, it shall be opened. If I seek, I shall

find. If I ask, it shall be given unto me. And

there's no doubt that there's nothing wrong with

that because at times that's the prayer. That's

what we need to pray because we are in need.

And when we are in need, where do we go to? God,

right? And Jesus even taught us how to pray in

Matthew 6, 11. Give us this day our daily bread.

But there is something far beyond that. There

is something much deeper than that. And there

is something that we all need to remember and

understand today. That even if God didn't answer

my prayer. And even if God didn't put anything

in my hand. I am still going to seek after his

presence. I am still going to yearn for his love.

I am still going to want more of God. Moses understood

this in Exodus 33 15. He says if your presence

does not go with us do not bring us up from here.

Moses had seen miracles. He had watched the Red

Sea open in part. He had watched Pharaoh's army

disappear beneath the water when it closed. He

had seen manna fall from heaven. He had seen

water come out of the rock. But after experiencing

all that Moses had experienced, Moses still says,

show me your glory. Show me your glory, God.

You see, because we have all witnessed the power

of God in our lives. We have all witnessed God

healing, his healing power in our lives. We have

all witnessed and been participants and have

received from God when he extends his hand and

he provides for us day after day. But just like

Moses said, Lord, that is not enough. I've seen

you move, but I want to see you move again. I've

seen you heal, but I want to see you heal again.

I've seen you enter, but I want you to enter.

again show me your glory God and when we think

about it after everything Moses had already seen

Moses still wanted more of God this is hunger

That is the hunger that I am talking about today.

That is the question that I am proposing to you

today. How hungry are you for God? How hungry

do you want more of God? Is it just going to

be another Sunday that we come in with no expectation?

Another Sunday that we come in, we raise our

hand, we sing the song, we go about the motions,

and we go back home like I said earlier. But

what about more of God? What about the manifestation

of God? Spirit in our services? What about someone

walking up to the altar and receiving the Holy

Ghost for the first time? What about somebody

sitting in their seat and getting healed without

even being prayed for? This is the power of God.

This is the God that you and I serve. Do you

know that before you ever needed anything, God

already knew what you needed? He already answered

and provided your every single need? Come on,

somebody should say amen to that. The need that

you have for tomorrow, God already answered it.

What you needed to be provided for next week,

God already provided it to you. The healing that

God knew that you were going to need next month

or next year, God already provided the healing.

Hunger for God will change what we seek. Our

hunger for God will change what we seek. Not

because we haven't experienced him, but because

what we experienced yesterday cannot become the

limit of what is expected for today. In Psalms

27, 8, it reads, when you said, seek my face,

my heart said to you, your face, Lord, I will

seek. This was David. And David understood that

there was something greater than simply receiving

something from God. He wanted God himself. He

wanted God himself. He wanted God himself. How

often recently have you just cried out to God

because all you want is God's presence? That's

it. Nothing else. I'm not here for blessing.

I'm not here because I need anything. I'm not

here because I want anything. I'm not here because

I'm merely here because all I want is you. He

wanted God for himself. There is a dangerous

place spiritually where we can become satisfied

with what knowing about God without continuing

to pursue after God. It's almost like when you

finally get to that place that you were going.

Remember, we were hangry for a moment. And then

we finally get to that place. And then now, I

mean, you don't even swallow. I mean, you don't

even chew your food. One gulp, man, it's gone.

Right? I mean, you go at it. And then guess what?

What do we do as soon as that happens to us?

Satisfied. Right? And sometimes we even need

to take a time out. That's probably the only

time we'll put our phone down and just say, okay,

I need a breather. Why? Because we are immediately

satisfied. And sometimes spiritually, that can

be a very dangerous place. We walk out of here

satisfied. I hadn't prayed all week, but I listened

to my favorite song on my way to work. Satisfied.

I didn't tell God thank you for the blessing

that he gave to me unexpectedly. Satisfied. I

didn't even have to pray to be healed. That's

how good my God is. Satisfied. I said thank you,

God, and I felt like the chills. It was probably

the Holy Ghost. I don't know. Satisfied. We grow

complacent, and we get satisfied, and we're satisfied,

and we're living in a satisfactory state of life

where there's no need to cry out to God anymore.

My altar at home has got cobwebs all over it.

We do how sometimes when people come over to

visit with... Wipe the cobwebs off the Bible

so satisfied. We become satisfied Christians

for an all -knowing, for an all -knowing, for

an all -knowing, omnipotent God. For a God where

our minds, we cannot comprehend even the mind

of Christ. We are no longer in a place where

we are now hungering for God, but we're satisfied

for what we have. And we need to understand that

our familiarity with church is not the same thing

as intimacy with God. Because God, Paul had served

God. and Paul had preached Christ and Paul had

planted churches and Paul had experienced all

these miracles yet in Philippians 3 10 he says

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection

you see because for Paul it wasn't even good

enough that he knew God it wasn't even good enough

that he had a front row seat to everything and

all that God did it wasn't enough for Paul Paul

said that I may know the power of your resurrection.

God, show me more. There was still more of Christ

for Paul to know. Paul, his past experience,

it did not eliminate his present hunger for God

and neither should ours. I share with all of

you and others how I recall being a young man.

I've said this plenty of times. And I've shared

with you the days and the moments where I recall

when we would go to church. And we were the first

ones at the altar. Music hasn't even started

playing. They were still setting up the instruments.

And there was about 20 to 30 of us. And we were

just crying out to God. And we were just asking

God to move. We didn't know what the sermon was

going to be about. We didn't have the song list.

We didn't know who was going to be there. We

didn't care. We showed up and we just started

to pray, God, have your way. God, let your spirit

move. God, visit us today. God, I need a brand

new touch today. Lord, the hunger. The hunger.

The hunger. And you know what I dislike very

much? I dislike speaking of these things in past

tense. Because this is not something that happened

yesterday and that's where it stays. This is

something that should be happening today. This

is something that should be happening this moment.

This should be something that's happening tomorrow

and the next day and the next day. Why? Because

the same God that moved then, it's the same God

that can move today. It's the same God that will

move tomorrow. Yes, I know time has changed.

Don't talk to me about that. I know church has

changed. Yes, I know we clap our hands. I know

there's a time limit and we got to be out of

here because we got a schedule. But you know

what? I don't care. Because we don't leave enough

time for God to move. We become satisfied with

a fixed schedule. I'm not angry. I'm hungry.

I said, I'm not angry. I'm hungry. You want to

know why? Because those are the moments and times

that I pray for my children. That my children

would come to church and immediately they would

start to feel the power of God. Immediately they

would start to speak in tongues and they would

say, hey, no, dad, I've got to get to the altar.

I've got to worship God. I've got to praise God.

I don't care who's teaching today. I don't care

who's preaching today. I don't care what I look

like today. All I care is I want more of God.

Come on, clap your hands. We should be thankful

for every encounter that we have with God. Yet

yesterday's encounter should become evidence

of what God can do today. Because there is still

more. There is still more of God. Not permission

to stop pursuing God. We talk about yesterday,

Bishop. We talk about yesterday like if it was

good and that was great and that was a yesterday

church and that's what they did in the Old Testament

and they spoke in tongues in the Old Testament.

Yeah, yeah, we know. Fire came down for heaven.

Yeah, yeah, we know. That's good for yesterday,

but what about today? Remember our youth services?

When we'd have to carry young people out? Because

they were drunk in the spirit? Oh, God. Oh, God.

When's the last time you had to be carried out?

I remember. I remember. I was there. I experienced

it. This is why. I believe the way I believe.

And this is why I live the way I live. Because

I know that there's more to God. I know that

there is more to God. I've seen it with my own

eyes. I've experienced it for myself. Even while

I was a young man and there was a sermon that

I preached. And I often get reminded about this

every single time. For everyone that was in that

service. I'm just going to step away from you.

Everyone that was in that service. I remember

so vividly. I remember going up and I'm preaching

about the manifestation of God. And I'm going

in and I'm telling the church about God and spirit.

And things just start to move. And God just starts

to move. And things just start to shift. And

everybody comes to the altar and God just starts

touching. The spirit of God just starts falling.

It just starts falling. And they're speaking

in tongues. And people that are coming up, they're

receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost for the

very first time. And you hear screaming in the

back. And then you hear screaming in the back.

And people are being delivered. And people are

being. And all the while it's just an altar call.

And God is moving. And God is moving. And then

I go. And we used to have these chairs at the

church where I was at. And I would go. And I

just sat there. And I'm just staring out. And

my pastor then, he's sitting across from me.

And he looks at me and he says, do you see that?

I didn't wear glasses back then. I actually had

good vision. I was young. So I didn't have to

take my glasses off. But he says, do you see

that? And I look. And I look. And I just see

a haze over the church. A haze. I saw it with

my own eyes. She caught him. And as I saw everyone

react to what was happening, I just felt God's

presence is so strong like I do right now. And

then God wasn't done showing off. Because to

further, amen, someone say further. Someone say

further. Prove that the manifestation of God's

presence was there. There was a young man at

the altar. Torrent. A young black man that visited

our church, lovable guy, love that guy. And he

was standing here at the altar and he was praying.

The pastor at the time had a glass jar, a glass,

a drinking glass. And as he was getting the water

and he was throwing it out, because I'm telling

you, God was moving. We were doing some crazy,

we did some crazy things when God moves like

that. Right. You guys hear of stories of people

jumping from from from benches and things like

that. Yeah. You get crazy when you when when

God visits you that way. You don't know how to

react. You don't know how to respond. You can't

contain it because the power of God is so strong.

And so he's doing this and then he reaches for

the glass and he lets it and it slips out of

his hand. Torrance is standing right here. I'm

sitting here, so I'm a witness to this. Before

the glass can reach his face, he's praying like

this, opens his eyes, and then prays like this,

thinking that the glass was going to hit his

face. When he closed his eyes like this, nobody

saw the glass. Everyone looked down to the floor,

and that glass... Busted and broke in a thousand

pieces. Now, I know you're thinking, come on,

Brother David. Well, then how is it so that Peter

can walk past a group of lame people that they

brought to him that day and his shadow can heal

them? Come on, I'm not talking crazy talk here.

I'm talking about a crazy God. I'm talking about

a powerful God. I'm talking about the manifestation

of God. I'm talking about more of God. I couldn't

believe it. Neither could anybody else. So to

further confirm that, they went, they swept it

up. It broke into a thousand pieces. Now, I'm

not taking any credit for this. Because it wasn't

me, it was God. I just lend myself to God because

I had a hunger for God. There was a hunger for

God then that I had been seeking, reaching, asking,

wanting. Because I know what God did then, God

can do today. God can do. Right now, I'm sharing

this with you because some of us still need help

with our faith a little bit. We still need help

with our faith in believing that God can do these

miraculous and wonderful things, not just in

our lives, but in our church, in our church services

through each and every one of you. But the question

remains, are you hungry? For more. Are you hungry

for more? The second thing very quickly is that

hunger for God creates room for his spirit to

move. In 1 Corinthians 12, 7 it says, but the

manifestation of the spirit is given to each

one for the profit of all. Now notice Paul's

language here. Paul's language, he says, the

manifestation of God's spirit. The Holy Spirit

was never intended to become merely a doctrine

that we believe in. He is God present and acting

amongst his people. Paul continues to describe

in verse 8 through 11. He says, for one is given

the word of wisdom through the Spirit. To the

other, the word of knowledge through the same

spirit. To another, faith by the same spirit.

To another, gifts of healings by the same spirit.

To the other, working of miracles. To another,

prophecy. To another, discerning of spirits.

To another, different kinds of tongues. To another,

the interpretation of tongues. But one and the

same spirit works all these things, disturbing

to each one, distributing to each one individually

as he wills. These are not, amen, ideas for Christians.

These are not great talking points. These are

not good things to talk about. This is not a

happy story that ends there. This is the manifestation

of the Spirit of God working through the body

of Christ according to His will. 1 Corinthians

12, 11, but one and the same spirit works all

these things, distributing to each individually

as he wills. Now the church, amen, I don't want

us to simply talk about what God used to do.

Oh, we're thankful for God. We're thankful for

what he did yesterday. We're thankful for what

he did. And we hear it and we go on and on and

on. This is not something for us just to be thankful

about. This is not just something for us just

to talk about the morality. miraculous uh deliverances

that we've seen that we witnessed over time although

i am grateful for that i am grateful for those

prayers i am grateful for those services i am

grateful for those experiences because it had

not been for those experiences i would not be

here you would not be here so i am not downplaying

or discrediting anything that god has done or

ever done in our lives but what i am saying is

that our testimonies cannot all be in past tense

We should not have to reach back 20 or 30 years

every time we want to tell somebody about God.

We should not have to go back to a time, amen,

where God did this. No, no, no. What I'm saying

is right there, right there, and then you can

tell them about God's love. You can tell them

about God's mercy. You can let them know that

God loves them too. And as a matter of fact,

why don't you lift your hand so I can pray for

you? I don't care if we're at the mall. I don't

care if we're at the store. I know God can move

right now. More of God. Acts was not written

so that we would admire Pentecost. So that we

create a nice flyer and we post it and we have

flames and fire and everything else. And then

we come to church looking all pretty and the

fire has been extinguished. There's no fire.

We all should be coming to church wearing fire

retardant clothing. Because we just don't know

what to expect from God. We just don't know the

power of God and what we are going to experience.

That's the power of God that I'm talking to you

about today. Those are the services that I'm

talking to you about today. It's coming to church

with an expectation of God's spirit moving. Acts

4 .31. It reads, after they prayed, the place

where they were all meeting was shaken. And they

were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke

the word of God boldly. They prayed and God responded.

You see how that works? They prayed and God responded.

They prayed and God responded. They worshiped

and God responded. They praised and God responded.

Why do you think we're constantly encouraging

you and we're telling you when you come into

the house of God, don't wait to praise him. Don't

wait to worship him because all God is waiting

for is to hear your praise. It's to hear your

worship so he can respond to his children. His

spirit is manifested. And in Acts 5, 15 through

16, it says that people brought the sick to the

streets and they were all healed. The shadow

that was casted over them, they were healed.

That's the power of God that I'm talking about.

That's the God that I'm referring to today. That's

the God that we still serve today. Yeah, it sounds

crazy, right? It sounds crazy, but we believe

every influencer we tap, like, and share on Facebook,

on Instagram. We believe every picture that we

see. We believe everything that we hear. We believe

CNN. We believe Fox News. We believe everything

and everyone. Then why don't we believe God when

he says that if you call on me, I will answer.

If you just have this hunger for more of me,

I will pour out unto them, all my children, my

spirit. Upon all flesh, he says. Right? He says,

in the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon

all flesh. But then I will recall the other scripture

that says that the hearts of men shall wax cold.

This is why every single day we've got to wake

up and we've just got to thank God. There's got

to be this hunger for God every morning that

it's not just God, thank you for waking me up,

but it's God, thank you for waking me up. What

would you have for me to do today? God, where

do you want me to go today? God, what do you

want me to say today? God, who do you want me

to witness to today? That's the hunger that I'm

talking about. It's those hunger cravings that

we have. I know we all have cravings. I know

we all crave things. We crave cookies. cakes

and sugars, right? And all those other good things.

I don't, but I know a lot of you do, right? And

you will go and you'll satisfy your hunger and

you'll find whatever it is to satisfy that hunger.

Then why don't we do the same when it comes to

God? Why don't we crave after God? Why don't

we crave after God the same way? Why don't we

crave after God? God, I'm going to stop at nothing.

I won't stop at nothing. I'm still going to seek

you. I want more of you, God. Finally, our hunger

for God refuses to settle for less than God's

fullness. Just like that, I know we've been talking

a lot about food. I'm going to end right now

so y 'all can go eat and satisfy that hunger.

But before you go satisfy that flesh, why don't

you satisfy your spirit today? Because the Bible

says in Ephesians 3 .19, it says, Paul prays

that the church would be filled with awe. Someone

say awe. Someone say all. Say all like you believe

it. All the fullness of God. This is an extraordinary

statement about an extraordinary God. Paul is

saying that the fullness of God, amen, that the

people in the church, that God's church will

be filled with the fullness of God. Paul's exemption

to the church was not a spiritual mediocrity.

He wasn't praying that they would merely survive.

He wasn't praying that they would simply maintain.

He wasn't praying that they would simply just

get by. What Paul was praying for, he prayed

for fullness. He prayed for fullness and for

the church to be fulfilled with all of God. Ephesians

3 .12, now to him who is able to do exceedingly

and abundantly above all that we ask or think

according to the power that works in us. God's

ability exceeds our expectation. Come on somebody.

God, his ability exceeds our expectation. God's

ability exceeds our expectation. He exceeds what

we believe and what we think is to be true. He

exceeds far beyond that. Far beyond that. Have

you ever prayed for a job and then you didn't

get that job but God gave you a better one? Right?

Have you ever asked God for a car and then you

show up to get the Toyota and then God miraculously,

a Mercedes drives out and they said, hey, this

one's yours. We don't know why, but we discounted

the price and you don't got to put a down payment.

We don't even need to check your credit. This

one's just yours. We don't know why, but here

it is. Do you know that that's God? Do you know

that that's God? Do you know that that is God

exceeding your expectations? Now, I'm talking

about the lower level things, the things that

don't even matter to God, but they matter to

us. How do you think it is when we come into

the house and we expect for God just to move

mediocrely and for us just to sing a song and

God is saying, no, I want to feel you once again.

I want to touch you once again. I want to bring

revival. I want to bring restoration. I want

to bring deliverance. I want to set you free.

Ephesians 3 .12, it says that we're in him that

he is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above

all that we ask or think. God's ability exceeds

our expectations. So maybe the problem isn't

that God stopped moving. Come on, somebody. Maybe

sometimes we've stopped expecting for him to

move. We have learned how to have church without

expecting his interruption. We can sing without

expectation. Come on, somebody. We pray without

expectation. We preach without expectation. Come

to the altar without expectation. And we leave

saying, that was a great service. But what if

good isn't good enough? What if good isn't what

we are hungry for anymore? Tony, you can make

your way up. What if good isn't what we are hungry

for anymore? What if our prayer becomes, God,

we want more than a good service. We don't want

more than just a good service. We want an encounter

with you. Mark 5. Remember the woman with the

issue of blood? Remember? We preach about that.

We teach about that constantly. But the one thing

that happened that changed her whole story and

changed her whole life around was that she was

desperate for an encounter for God. She just

didn't want to be healed. Her flesh wanted to

be healed. Her mind. Her mind wanted to be healed,

but her spirit wanted an encounter with God.

So she pushed her way through. Pushed her way

through. She didn't care who she had to push

or knock down. She finally made it to God. And

what did she say to him? If I could just touch.

if I could just have an encounter with you again.

How desperate are we to have an encounter with

God again? How desperate are we to see God's

hand move in our lives? How desperate are we

to see God manifest His Spirit? in our lives

I don't want to just go through life I don't

want to live this mediocre life any longer I

want God to move day in and day out I want my

morning my day to start with God I want my day

to end with God I know we still live life I know

we gotta go to work I know we gotta pay bills

I know we gotta do that How desperate are we

for an encounter with God? How hungry are we?

I was sharing with my wife last week, we had

the opportunity to preach at a youth conference.

The first night, they had over 100 youth there.

100 youth. And the preacher got up, and God moved,

and they felt God's spirit, and the spirit of

God fell, and they called the altar. They called

all the youth up to the altar, and one received

the gift of the Holy Ghost, and others declared

for baptism. And, you know, God would just say,

remember? Remember when this would happen every

time? Remember when I moved like this any time

we gathered, any time. And I stood there and

I wept. And I said, God, I remember. Remember,

I remember, I remember. Then I started praying

over these young people. And then something just

gripped, something like gripped my heart. Brother

Jose, something just gripped my heart and I stopped.

I said, that's what it is. It's hunger. They

don't even know what they're hungry for. But

they're hungry again, God. That's what drove

them to the church that night. Was the hunger

for God. I looked over to their youth leader,

youth director, whatever he was. But the director

and I said, you've got a hundred hungry young.

people. We've got to feed them God. Not doctrine,

not principles, not do's and don'ts, but God.

The love of God. God has just been dealing, dealing,

dealing. Stand, stand with me. And in my prayers

and in my thoughts, God is continually asking

me, how hungry are you? How hungry are you, David?

Because that occurrence where I showed up while

you were a young man and I used you to preach

my word, that wasn't just supposed to happen

one time. Seeing someone filled with my spirit

wasn't just supposed to happen one time. The

healing wasn't just supposed to happen one time.

Salvation is not just supposed to receive by

one person. The outpouring is just not happening

in a little town or a little place in the Midwest.

Remember when all that happened? And everybody

was flocking to that place. I don't even know

where it was. Right? And people were going. And

they had revival. Remember? Day after day. And

they made the news. And it was all over social

media. Right? And then they showed the inside

of that church. There was no preaching. Maybe

there was a little bit of singing. But you know

what it was? It was hunger for God's spirit.

That's why it kept going. And it kept going.

And it kept going. And it kept going. And it

should be going today. But then you know what

happened? They got satisfied. And it stopped.

I don't want you to raise your hand. I don't

want you to say anything. The only question I

have for you today is, how hungry are you for

God? How desperate are you? To encounter God

like that again. And not just today. Tomorrow.

And not just tomorrow. The next day. The next

day. The next day. If you want, make your way

to this altar. And just begin to tell God. God,

I'm here today. I'm here today, God. I'm here

right now.
