  1. Shalom, beloved. You are welcome to today's episode of our

  2. Morning Glory devotion from the Harvest Chapel International, Denyame Kumasi.

  3. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Our Heavenly Father, praise, glory,

  4. and honor be unto your holy name. We thank you

  5. for the blessing of a new day. As we prepare

  6. to hear your word, we invite your Holy Spirit to

  7. guide us. Please open our hearts and our minds and

  8. let your presence illuminate our understanding in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

  9. Let us kindly take our confession for today from Joshua 1,

    Joshua 1:8

  10. verse 8. Joshua 1.8 This book of the law shall

  11. not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate in

  12. it day and night, that I may observe to do

  13. according to all that is written in it. For then

  14. I will make my way prosperous, and then I will

  15. have good success. Amen. Today's message is titled, Are You

  16. Known by the Lord? Are you known by the Lord?

  17. Written by Mr. and Dr. Mrs. Achampon, A.J. Our scripture

  18. reading shall be taken from Matthew chapter 7, the verse

    Matthew 7 chapter mention

  19. 21 to 23. Matthew 7 from 21 to 23. I

  20. will be reading from the New King James Version. Not

  21. everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the

  22. kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of

  23. my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in

  24. that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name,

  25. cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders

  26. in your name? And then I will declare to them,

  27. I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.

  28. The Lord add his blessings to the reading and hearing

  29. of this word. Thanks be to God. Amen. Are you

  30. known by the Lord? Are you known by the Lord? Recently,

  31. I had a conversation with a colleague about something that

  32. happened at a barbering salon. Some prominent people we happened

  33. to work with came in, recognized him, and walked over

  34. to speak with him. He was genuinely excited that people

  35. of such standard knew who he was and took the

  36. time to greet him. We laughed about it together. But

  37. as I walked home, it stayed on my mind. There

  38. is something about being known by important people that makes

  39. us feel special. Just hearing that someone influential knows your

  40. name can give you a sudden quiet sense of importance.

  41. Then I thought about the Lord. If being recognized by

  42. people of status can bring such a thrill, how much

  43. more should it mean to us that God knows us?

  44. And do we actually care whether he knows us? Jesus

  45. leaves us with a sobering picture in Matthew chapter 7.

    Matthew 7 chapter mention

  46. He speaks of a day when some will stand before

  47. him pointing to all the busy active things they did

  48. in his name. They will recount their works and spiritual experiences,

  49. yet Jesus will look at them and say, I never

  50. knew you. Those words are frightening because these were not outsiders.

  51. They were involved in things associated with his name, yet

  52. there was no genuine living relationship with him. They wanted

  53. his power and his platform, but they had not truly

  54. sought his heart. That ought to make all of us pause.

  55. As Christians, we can spend so much energy wanting people

  56. to notice us, to praise us, and to appreciate our labor,

  57. while giving very little attention to whether we truly walk

  58. with the Lord. We can be respected in our communities,

  59. active in our churches, and yet still need to ask,

  60. does Christ truly know me? And this is not only

  61. a question for Christians. If you have never surrendered your

  62. life to him, where do you stand today? You may

  63. know facts about Jesus, attend Christian gatherings, or even admire

  64. the faith, but are you known by him? And do

  65. you even care if he does? Beloved, At the end

  66. of our days, it would not matter how many influential

  67. people knew our names. What will matter entirely is whether

  68. Jesus knows us. The recognition of people is temporal, but

  69. being known by Christ is eternal. May we therefore not

  70. spend our lives seeking the applause of men while neglecting

  71. our relationship with God. May we come to know him

  72. walk with him and live in a way that reflects

  73. that we truly belong to him. And when our earthly

  74. journey is over, may we hear him say, well done,

  75. good and faithful servant. May our greatest joy not be

  76. that important people knew us, but that Jesus knows us

  77. and we know him. God richly bless you. Amen. Let

  78. us kindly take our memory verse for today. Our memory

  79. verse for today is taken from Matthew 7, verse 23.

    Matthew 7:23

  80. Matthew 7, verse 23. I will be reading from the

    Matthew 7:23

  81. New King James Version. And then I will declare to them,

  82. I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.

  83. And then I will declare to them, I never knew you.

  84. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. Amen. Let us

  85. kindly share a word of prayer. Lord, we thank you

  86. for this truth and this timely reminder. Please forgive us

  87. for the times we have chased the recognition of people

  88. while neglecting our intimacy with you. Search our hearts today.

  89. strip away the empty routines of religion, and draw us

  90. into a genuine living relationship with your Son. When all

  91. earthly tides fade, may we hear you say, Well done,

  92. good and faithful servant. I know you. In Jesus' name. Amen. Beloved,

  93. always remember this. The recognition of people is temporal. But

  94. having a genuine living relationship with Christ and being known

  95. by Him is eternal. God richly bless you for staying

  96. all through today's morning glory devotion. Kindly join us again

  97. for another episode tomorrow morning by God's grace at the

  98. same time. Stay tuned to Radio HCI today for more

  99. spirit-filled content. Stay blessed. Shalom.
