  1. Our scripture reading tonight from which the sermon will be based is Colossians chapter 1 verses 15 to 23.

    Colossians 1:15–23

  2. !

  3. For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.

  4. All things were created through him and for him.

  5. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

  6. And he is the head of the body, the church.

  7. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

  8. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.

  9. And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

  10. And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,

  11. he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him.

  12. If indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard,

  13. which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

  14. This is God's holy word.

  15. About eight years ago, my family and I took a trip to Seattle on the other side of the United States.

  16. And while we were there, we thought, we were visiting some friends, and we thought, while we were there, we were able to stay in their house.

  17. We were going to take a trip up to Canada, and we would go up to Vancouver so we could ski for a day at Whistler.

  18. And as we were driving up, we'd hired a car, and we were going round Benz, and we came round this one particular corner.

  19. And suddenly, I was driving, and in front of me, these mountains appeared, and they felt like they were so big, you could barely see the sky above them.

  20. And as I drove on, it felt like the mountains were tumbling down on top of me.

  21. We've got mountains in Scotland, but I'd never experienced anything like this.

  22. It took my breath away, and I was driving.

  23. It made me feel actually a little bit dizzy, thinking, looking at how magnificent and glorious these mountains are as they towered up above us.

  24. My brain couldn't quite grasp the size and the beauty and magnificence of what was in front of them.

  25. Well, we're in a series in Paul's, the Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Colossae.

  26. And Paul's writing this letter because he's heard that there's false teachers interfering with the belief system, the things that the people know about, in the church know about Jesus.

  27. So, later on in the letter, we get some hints as to what those things are.

  28. But whatever those things are, the precise mixture of false teachings that are being taught, Paul sees one fundamental problem.

  29. It all boils down to the fact that whatever they're teaching is diminishing the sufficiency and the supremacy of Christ by making believers look somewhere else for the full fullness of God.

  30. Not saying that Jesus isn't important, but saying that you need Jesus plus something else in order to receive this fullness.

  31. So, what have the Canadian mountains got to do with this letter that Paul writes to the church in Colossae?

  32. Well, I think that Paul tries to do, or does with words, what those mountains did to me with my eyes in real life.

  33. He paints this magnificent picture of who Jesus really is.

  34. Paul doesn't sit down.

  35. He's written a welcome, a thanksgiving.

  36. He's written a prayer in this letter.

  37. And then he arrives at the meat, the content, and he doesn't say, listen, those guys who are coming in and telling you other things about Jesus, don't listen to them.

  38. He doesn't do that.

  39. What does he do instead?

  40. He just paints this extraordinary, breathtaking picture of who Christ really is.

  41. And the result is sublime.

  42. He presents this most stupendous word picture.

  43. And Christ is the theme.

  44. He doesn't begin with, don't listen to them.

  45. He begins with, feast your eyes, your ears, your hearts on who Jesus really is, what he came to do, and what he's achieved.

  46. Because anything that you see that is not Jesus is insufficient.

  47. Rather than Jesus being in any way insufficient for the church.

  48. Once you see the glory of Christ, you'll never be fooled into thinking that you need anything else ever again.

  49. John Owen was a Puritan, a 17th century theologian, and a church leader.

  50. And he said one of the greatest privileges that a believer has, both in this life and in eternity, is to behold the glory of Christ.

  51. So for Owen, seeing Christ's glory is one of the greatest privileges that a Christian can have.

  52. And this evening we're going to think about why that is from this section of Paul's letter that Corey read for us.

  53. There's two big reasons, I think, two points.

  54. And the first is because Christ is supreme over all of creation.

  55. So verses 15 and 20, as Corey said, this is a hymn, a poem.

  56. It certainly reads that way when you read it.

  57. We've gone from speaking about you to the second person, speaking about Jesus in the third person.

  58. And it feels like a distinct change in language.

  59. That's one hint that there's a poem here.

  60. But the language as well builds line by line on top of each other to build this complete picture.

  61. It begins with two titles stacked on top of one another.

  62. Christ is the image of the invisible God, and he's the firstborn of all creation.

  63. So when we hear the word, we're Bible readers and we hear the word image,

  64. we probably immediately think back to Genesis.

  65. Jesus, because when God made Adam, he made mankind, he made him in his image.

  66. And every creature is made in the image of God.

  67. Every man is made in the image of God.

  68. And so that's why every life is so important.

  69. Every life is so precious, why we have to do all we can to protect it.

  70. Paul's got something bigger in mind when he applies this image to Christ.

  71. He is man.

  72. Christ came into the world as a man, but he's not just man.

  73. Paul wants to reflect that for us.

  74. He's not merely saying that Jesus is like us.

  75. He's saying Jesus and the Father are completely alike.

  76. He's the image of the invisible God.

  77. Christ is the firstborn of all creation.

  78. So now on first reading, that sounds like Christ has been created, like he's had a beginning.

  79. The firstborn of all creation.

  80. And in the fourth century, there's a guy called Arius who thought that was the case.

  81. And he used this verse to argue that Jesus might be the most magnificent, the best of all God's creations.

  82. But he was a creation nonetheless.

  83. We know that God has no beginning.

  84. We know that Christ is God.

  85. And so that cannot be the case.

  86. But it's worth thinking about this just for a little second.

  87. Because it's got implications for us.

  88. Because this is not just theological error.

  89. This is heresy.

  90. To say that Jesus is a created being means to say that Jesus is not divine.

  91. That Jesus is not God.

  92. So what's the difference between biblical error and heresy?

  93. Well, biblical error is things that we can differ on and still be Christians.

  94. So baptism is a really good example.

  95. So some people might think that we should baptize children.

  96. And other people think that we should not baptize children.

  97. We should wait until they make up their own profession of faith.

  98. Those are biblical differences.

  99. The truth is, one of us has to be wrong.

  100. We can't both be right.

  101. But we can still have fellowship with those people and accept them as Christians,

  102. even when they hold a different point of view to us.

  103. But heresy is something different.

  104. Heresy is a fundamental doctrinal error that contradicts the essential truths of the Christian faith.

  105. Truths that are necessary to preserve the biblical gospel.

  106. I borrowed that definition.

  107. So Arius wasn't simply making a mistake about Jesus.

  108. He was denying the full deity of the Son.

  109. And then he's undermining, therefore, the entire gospel itself.

  110. But heresy leads people away from Christ.

  111. The only way to be reconciled with God.

  112. And that kind of teaching has eternal consequences.

  113. So it's not a small error.

  114. This is a huge deal.

  115. And this view didn't end in the fourth century, sadly.

  116. There are still people who believe that Christ is a created being.

  117. But as we're going to look in Paul's letter, he points out very clearly, I think, makes a really clear argument why that is not the case.

  118. So what's Paul doing here when he calls Jesus the firstborn?

  119. Especially in a letter that he's writing to convince the church not to listen to outside influences saying that they need anything else other than Christ.

  120. Well, verse 16 means that we cannot accept, we can't misunderstand firstborn.

  121. Because it clearly states that Jesus created everything.

  122. So logically, the creator cannot be created.

  123. He has to come before the things that he created.

  124. But leaving verse 16 aside just for a moment,

  125. The Bible gives us lots of information about what firstborn means in this context.

  126. So in the Old Testament, in Deuteronomy,

  127. Moses lays down rules for how a man who has two wives is to think about inheritance.

  128. So he's got one wife who he loves and one wife who he doesn't love.

  129. And the unloved wife's son is older and the loved son's wife is younger.

  130. And so the danger or the opportunity is for the man who loves this wife to give everything to the younger son.

  131. Because that's the son of the woman who he loves the most.

  132. But Moses says, no, that's not what's going to happen.

  133. He says that the firstborn must receive his double portion.

  134. Because he's the first fruits of his strength.

  135. The right of the firstborn is his.

  136. But what's significant here is not the order of who's born first,

  137. but the rights that are being protected.

  138. This isn't about biological facts, which are not being disputed.

  139. This is about legal status, the rank, the inheritance, and the authority that the firstborn has.

  140. So firstborn is not about primacy.

  141. Primacy.

  142. It is about primacy, not about chronology.

  143. It's not about who comes first.

  144. It's about who is first over things.

  145. Then another example is in Exodus.

  146. So God says to the entire nation of Israel,

  147. so Israel is a young nation.

  148. There's lots of nations around about them that are much older.

  149. And God says, Israel is my firstborn son.

  150. But Israel was not the firstborn nation,

  151. not the first nation that was created.

  152. But it was given first rank, first inheritance, first importance in God's purposes.

  153. And then the final example is King David.

  154. So David's the youngest of Jesse's sons.

  155. And when Samuel's looking for which one God wants to make king,

  156. David's left in the field with the sheep because he's the youngest,

  157. the least significant in the eyes of men.

  158. He's got lots of older brothers,

  159. lots of brothers who are born first ahead of him.

  160. But in Psalm 89, God says of David,

  161. I'll make him the firstborn,

  162. the highest of the kings of the earth.

  163. So David was the lastborn,

  164. but in this verse,

  165. in his family, he was the lastborn in this verse,

  166. in this Psalm.

  167. It talks about David as first ranked in God's kingdom.

  168. So birth order is not what we're talking about

  169. when we say firstborn.

  170. When Paul calls Christ the firstborn of all creation,

  171. he's not saying that Christ was created first,

  172. as though he was an item on a list that God went through.

  173. It means that Christ has the rights,

  174. the authority,

  175. and the supremacy of the firstborn over all of creation.

  176. Everything that was made.

  177. He's not part of creation.

  178. Creation belongs to him.

  179. In John Calvin's Institutes,

  180. he draws a pretty plain conclusion.

  181. He says,

  182. Christ's called firstborn not because he was made,

  183. but because the entire structure of the world

  184. finds its origin in him and no other.

  185. He's not the oldest creature.

  186. He's the one for whom and through whom and by whom

  187. creaturehood itself exists.

  188. And then that's exactly what we see in verses 16 and 17

  189. in Paul's letter.

  190. In the most totalizing language that Paul uses about anybody

  191. in any of his writings,

  192. he says that all things,

  193. so things in heaven, on earth,

  194. visible and invisible,

  195. thrones, dominions, rulers, authority,

  196. the very spiritual powers,

  197. which we find out later in the letter,

  198. one of the things that the false teachers are coming

  199. to try and lead people astray from the church,

  200. with,

  201. not one of them is a rival.

  202. They're all created through Christ and for Christ.

  203. Each one, his handiwork made for his glory.

  204. He's before all things.

  205. And in him, all things hold together.

  206. So every atom,

  207. every law of physics,

  208. every heartbeat in the room right now,

  209. it is all being held together moment by moment

  210. by the same Christ who was laid as a baby in a manger.

  211. We take away Christ's sustaining power over all things.

  212. For an instant,

  213. there'd be nothing left.

  214. So there's an important principle

  215. for us to take from this,

  216. I think.

  217. I saw this this week

  218. from the writer,

  219. Pastor David Tripp,

  220. Paul Tripp.

  221. He,

  222. David's his middle name.

  223. He said,

  224. and I wonder if you can resonate with this,

  225. he said,

  226. I've got the scary ability to look at my life

  227. and not see God.

  228. What do I see instead?

  229. Writing deadlines I need to meet,

  230. details of my flight I need to remember,

  231. appointments I need to show up for,

  232. family vacations I need to plan,

  233. groceries I need to purchase,

  234. meals I need to prepare,

  235. bills I need to pay,

  236. rooms I need to clean,

  237. broken furniture I need to fix,

  238. birthday gifts I need to purchase for my kids.

  239. Tripp doesn't dismiss this,

  240. not seeing God as absent-mindedness

  241. or a result of his busyness.

  242. He says it's scary.

  243. He's not being tempted by heresy,

  244. but when you think,

  245. when you forget for a moment

  246. that you're a created being,

  247. you take your eyes off Christ

  248. and all he has done

  249. and all that he has achieved,

  250. you start behaving as you yourself

  251. are sovereign.

  252. You think that everything depends on you.

  253. You think that you have to hold

  254. everything together yourself.

  255. You think you have to fix everything.

  256. You think you have to change yourself.

  257. You think you have to control

  258. your circumstances.

  259. But Colossians 1.17,

  260. what tells us,

  261. he's before all things

  262. and in him all things are held together.

  263. You don't hold your life together.

  264. Christ does.

  265. Okay, so that leads us on

  266. to our second point.

  267. Christ is supreme over the new creation.

  268. So we saw that Christ is supreme

  269. over creation.

  270. He's also supreme over the new creation.

  271. Had Paul stopped at verse 17,

  272. we would have been left

  273. with a staggering picture

  274. of who Christ is

  275. as the creator of the world.

  276. The eternal creator

  277. who rules over everything

  278. that's been made.

  279. this completely refutes any claim

  280. anyone could possibly make

  281. that Jesus is not God.

  282. But Paul's not finished.

  283. Because while this letter

  284. is rich in theology

  285. and Christology,

  286. the study of Jesus,

  287. it's also a letter

  288. to a struggling,

  289. tempting church.

  290. And they need to be reminded

  291. that Christ who made the cosmos

  292. is remaking the cosmos.

  293. In verses 18 to 20,

  294. Paul introduces

  295. a second firstborn.

  296. He's already called him

  297. the firstborn of all creation.

  298. And now he calls him,

  299. he says he's the beginning,

  300. the firstborn from the dead,

  301. that in everything

  302. he might be preeminent.

  303. And here Paul's not talking

  304. about primacy of rank

  305. in an abstract sense.

  306. He's talking about

  307. the very event

  308. that took place

  309. right at the center of history

  310. when Jesus went to the cross,

  311. when he died

  312. and was resurrected

  313. for believers.

  314. Again, firstborn

  315. can't just be about timing

  316. because Jesus wasn't

  317. the first person

  318. who was raised from the dead.

  319. We read about this

  320. all through the Bible.

  321. There was a son

  322. of the widow of Zarephath

  323. who was raised by Elijah.

  324. There's a son

  325. of the Shumanite woman

  326. who was raised by Elisha.

  327. There was an unnamed man

  328. who was put into,

  329. whose dead body

  330. touched Elisha's bones

  331. after Elisha had died

  332. and he came back to life.

  333. There was the widow

  334. of Nain's son,

  335. Jairus' daughter.

  336. Famously, there was Lazarus

  337. who Jesus raised himself.

  338. So we know that Jesus

  339. is not the first human

  340. to come back from the dead,

  341. from the grave.

  342. So what is Paul saying?

  343. Well, Paul's telling us

  344. that Christ is the ascended

  345. son of God.

  346. And because he's

  347. the ascended son of God,

  348. he's first born

  349. of a new creation

  350. that was launched

  351. at his resurrection.

  352. First born isn't

  353. about temporal order.

  354. It's about Christ's

  355. sovereign rule

  356. over all things.

  357. Just like Christ

  358. was the creator

  359. who sovereignly

  360. rules over creation,

  361. Christ sovereignly

  362. rules over the new creation too.

  363. The one who made everything

  364. is making everything new.

  365. Paul wrote other letters

  366. to other churches.

  367. In his letter

  368. that he wrote

  369. to the church in Corinth,

  370. there is a passage

  371. that is kind of

  372. very similar

  373. to the language

  374. that we have here.

  375. But in Corinthians,

  376. he doesn't call Christ

  377. the firstborn,

  378. he calls him first fruits,

  379. which is a slightly

  380. different term.

  381. But it's obviously

  382. a harvest metaphor,

  383. a farming metaphor,

  384. but it's not

  385. a random metaphor.

  386. There's something

  387. really important,

  388. I think,

  389. that it reveals to us.

  390. There's a theologian

  391. called Richard Gaffin

  392. who helped me to see this.

  393. I think he puts his finger

  394. on something

  395. that's got real implications

  396. for how we understand

  397. what's going on here.

  398. So we read about

  399. Christ's resurrection

  400. and we read about

  401. the fact that we will be

  402. resurrected at the end of time.

  403. We see that in scripture.

  404. And we're tempted

  405. to think about those things

  406. as two separate events.

  407. So we think

  408. there's Christ's resurrection

  409. and then there's

  410. this other event,

  411. this other thing

  412. that's our resurrection

  413. and those things

  414. are connected somehow

  415. by a promise.

  416. But first fruits,

  417. they're not just a sign

  418. of a harvest,

  419. they're not just an indicator

  420. of a harvest,

  421. they're the beginning of it.

  422. They're the same fruit,

  423. the same crop,

  424. the same field.

  425. Do you see what Paul's

  426. saying here?

  427. The resurrection of Christ

  428. and the resurrection

  429. of believers

  430. are not two separate events.

  431. They're two episodes

  432. of the same harvest.

  433. So why is this

  434. so important for us?

  435. Why do we need to think

  436. about it in those terms?

  437. Well, if Christ's resurrection

  438. and our resurrection

  439. are not just similar events,

  440. but our future resurrection

  441. is not just a hope.

  442. They're not separate events,

  443. they're one event.

  444. That's already begun.

  445. The same resurrection

  446. that raised Jesus

  447. from the dead

  448. on the third day,

  449. right now,

  450. already is underway

  451. and everyone who's united

  452. to him by faith.

  453. So in Christ's resurrection,

  454. God's began to fulfill

  455. the promise

  456. that we will be resurrected too.

  457. So when is the resurrection

  458. going to happen?

  459. Well, it's already begun.

  460. And I think that gives us

  461. great hope

  462. hope as we think about work

  463. on Monday morning

  464. or we think about the things

  465. that we're going through

  466. right now

  467. that are difficult

  468. and hard

  469. and feel like they're crushing

  470. in on us.

  471. If you're a believer today,

  472. God promises to raise you

  473. from the dead.

  474. And while you wait,

  475. you don't have to wonder

  476. if it will happen

  477. because Jesus' resurrection

  478. from the dead,

  479. the promise God made

  480. to raise you

  481. from the dead

  482. has already began

  483. to be fulfilled.

  484. Okay, this is a two-part,

  485. a two-point sermon,

  486. but actually,

  487. there's probably

  488. a third point in here,

  489. but we don't have enough time

  490. to draw them all out.

  491. But let's finally look

  492. at verses 21 and 23 together.

  493. They come after this hymn,

  494. this poem that Paul

  495. has shared with us

  496. because Paul turns

  497. from thinking about

  498. the cosmic reality

  499. to think about

  500. the personal reality.

  501. So the cosmic Christ

  502. has accomplished

  503. cosmic reconciliation

  504. through the cross.

  505. The Christ who holds

  506. the universe together

  507. is the Christ who died

  508. to bring you back

  509. into communion with God.

  510. And you who were once

  511. alienated and hostile in mind,

  512. doing evil deeds,

  513. you're now restored to God

  514. in him

  515. and presented holy,

  516. blameless,

  517. and above reproach.

  518. And then we need

  519. to look at verse 23

  520. because if we look

  521. at this verse

  522. just in isolation,

  523. take it away

  524. from the rest of Scripture,

  525. it seems at first glance

  526. to fly in the face

  527. of the rest of Paul's letter.

  528. Because remember,

  529. Paul's written this letter

  530. to remind the church

  531. that you don't need

  532. anything else

  533. apart from Christ.

  534. That is all they need.

  535. But then verse 23

  536. introduces an if.

  537. As if there's a condition

  538. that people have to meet.

  539. Are the false teachers right?

  540. Is there something

  541. that you need to add

  542. to Christ's work,

  543. Christ's finished work,

  544. in order to be reconciled

  545. with God?

  546. Well, the answer

  547. is no.

  548. Paul isn't saying

  549. that Christ's done

  550. 99% of the work

  551. and you just need

  552. to supply that final 1%.

  553. He's saying that those

  554. whom Christ reconciles,

  555. he also keeps.

  556. And one of the ways

  557. that he keeps them

  558. is by calling them

  559. to continue in the faith,

  560. grounded and steadfast

  561. in the truth of Christ,

  562. which they've heard.

  563. This is perseverance.

  564. Perseverance isn't the price

  565. that you pay

  566. in order to be saved.

  567. It's the fruit

  568. of the grace

  569. that saves you.

  570. Not some believers

  571. have been united,

  572. reconciled with God,

  573. but they might mess up

  574. or they might slip away.

  575. But rather,

  576. not everyone

  577. who claims to be a Christian,

  578. who says that they follow Christ,

  579. is really a Christian.

  580. But if you believe

  581. that Christ really is the one

  582. who came to save sinners,

  583. then your salvation,

  584. your resurrection,

  585. your reconciliation with God

  586. are secure.

  587. The Apostle Peter

  588. helps us to understand this.

  589. He wrote a letter.

  590. He wrote two letters.

  591. He writes that there's

  592. a wonderful inheritance

  593. that's been reserved

  594. for believers

  595. and they're being kept

  596. by the power of God

  597. for that inheritance.

  598. So we can interpret

  599. verse 23 maybe

  600. as the same points

  601. as verses 15 to 20,

  602. but from the opposite

  603. point of view.

  604. So 15 to 20,

  605. paint this glorious picture

  606. of Christ

  607. as preeminent

  608. over creation,

  609. preeminent over

  610. the new creation.

  611. And then verse 23

  612. is a call to remain

  613. grounded and settled

  614. in this glorious Christ.

  615. Don't be moved away

  616. from the hope of the gospel.

  617. And the word hope

  618. is important for us

  619. to get our heads around also

  620. because when we say hope today,

  621. we think that there's

  622. something,

  623. we think about it

  624. as something that we're

  625. trying to grab onto

  626. that we're hoping

  627. will come true.

  628. That's not what's

  629. happening here.

  630. This is an expectant

  631. confidence

  632. that the good news

  633. that Christ,

  634. the maker,

  635. God,

  636. the ruler of the cosmos,

  637. who entered into time

  638. and space,

  639. who died and rose again,

  640. the ruler of the new creation,

  641. he has come to reconcile

  642. everything on earth

  643. and in heaven

  644. to God.

  645. Paul's message is this.

  646. If Christ's this much

  647. over creation,

  648. over powers,

  649. over death itself,

  650. over the whole

  651. of your alienated,

  652. hostile,

  653. once evil doing hearts,

  654. then he's more than sufficient

  655. for whatever something more

  656. the world could ever offer.

  657. So much more sufficient

  658. than your own doubts

  659. or the things

  660. that false teachers

  661. might try to teach you

  662. or your own weakness

  663. to hold on to the things

  664. that you think you need to.

  665. There is no fullness

  666. beyond him.

  667. There's no rival power

  668. that's stronger

  669. than Christ.

  670. There's no valley,

  671. no dark valley

  672. of your own life

  673. in the present

  674. or in the past

  675. that can keep you

  676. from being reconciled

  677. through the blood

  678. that was shed

  679. on the cross

  680. for believers.

  681. So if you're

  682. in Christ

  683. this evening,

  684. already,

  685. not someday

  686. in the future,

  687. but already,

  688. you're caught up

  689. in this resurrection life,

  690. being presented

  691. holy,

  692. blameless,

  693. and above reproach

  694. before God

  695. who has made you

  696. and who's still

  697. remaking you.

  698. And if you're

  699. not yet in Christ,

  700. if alien

  701. and hostile

  702. is maybe a better way

  703. to describe the way

  704. that you are honestly

  705. feeling right now,

  706. the same blood

  707. that holds the promise

  708. for others

  709. has been held out

  710. to you

  711. right now

  712. and it contains

  713. everything

  714. that you would ever need

  715. with nothing held back.

  716. Let's pray.

  717. Lord God,

  718. we thank you

  719. for Jesus Christ,

  720. the creator of heaven

  721. and earth,

  722. of everything

  723. that is seen

  724. and unseen.

  725. We thank you

  726. for this picture

  727. that we have

  728. of Christ in Colossians,

  729. this picture

  730. that shows us

  731. our Lord,

  732. the only begotten

  733. Son of the Father,

  734. God from God,

  735. light from light,

  736. true God

  737. from true God,

  738. begotten,

  739. not made,

  740. of one being

  741. with the Father

  742. through whom

  743. all things were made

  744. and the one

  745. who rules

  746. over all creation,

  747. the one who ascended

  748. to the right hand

  749. of the Father,

  750. upholding,

  751. ruling,

  752. reigning.

  753. Lord,

  754. help us all

  755. see clearly

  756. this glorious picture

  757. of Christ,

  758. our Savior,

  759. our ruler

  760. and let us live lives

  761. with joy

  762. as we await

  763. our resurrection

  764. when we will see him

  765. face to face.

  766. We pray this

  767. in Jesus' name.

  768. Amen.

  769. Amen.
