Come on, family.

Hey, hey.

So good to be in the house.

I'm gonna keep you on your feet.

We're gonna pray as we get ready to open the word of God.

I don't know if you are fully alive this morning, but you're about to get shuck up by the Holy Spirit.

So I'm just giving you an advance warning.

I came here with a word on my heart when I spoke to your pastors.

And they said, you know what?

Just come and share whatever it is you feel.

But we are in the book of Numbers.

And I said, then I am gonna preach from the book of Numbers, and we're gonna have week two of this series that you're in.

And last Sunday, your pastor said, We are playing no games.

We are going for this.

We're gonna be a people of a different spirit.

We're gonna be all in, we're gonna be wholehearted.

And today I'm gonna add another layer to what God has already become begun.

And I don't know if you know this or you can tell this, but I'm ready, y'all.

I'm ready.

I'm fired up and I'm ready.

So I'm asking us all in these moments as we just get ready to pray, to say, God, I'm ready.

I don't want to be stuck where I shouldn't be stuck.

I don't want to live outside of the promise you have for my life.

I don't want to settle in a place that you didn't call me to settle.

God, move me today.

Show me today.

So, Holy Father, we come and we stand in your presence.

And we're so thankful that you are a speaking God.

And today we know you are going to speak because God, when we give you the room, you fill that room, you illuminate that room.

And God, today I pray that this word it would wreck us in the best possible way.

It would mold us, it would shape us, it would change us.

God, we do not want to live an average, boring, mediocre life when we serve the God of the impossible.

Let our lives reflect you today.

And God, I pray in these next few moments, as always, help me get out of the way, God.

Let the only one audible, the only one visible be you, God, moving and speaking to your people.

We give you the room in Jesus' name.

Amen and amen.

So as you began this series last week, I was so awakened with this message that I want to put before us all today.

It has been preaching to me for the last couple of weeks as I've been in the book of Numbers.

You know, the book of Numbers is also known as the book of the in-between.

Because the book of Numbers is the story of a journey from liberation that was going through to the possession of what God had promised the children of Israel.

But the book of Numbers spends so much time talking to us about that in-between season, that in-between moment.

And God wants to speak to so many of us today about our in-between season because some of you are not where you need to be.

You're on the journey of where God has calling you to.

And for some of us, the journey is taking a lot longer than it should, just like in the book of Numbers, it took a lot longer than it should have for them to possess what God had already promised.

In fact, the journey of them getting liberated to them possessing Canaan, the actual journey should have taken 11 days tops, max three weeks.

But actually, the journey took them 14,609 days, 40 years.

It should have been 11 days, but it was over 14,000 days.

And I just have a feeling today that God had a breakthrough for you that should have taken two days, but we're 2,000 days later, and we still don't have the breakthrough.

God had a provision and a miracle for your marriage, and actually, in God's timing, it could have taken a week, but you are still trying to get there several years later.

Why?

Because it's on the in-between journey that God requires something from us that we don't often realize is an issue, and today I put it before you as something that we have to deal with.

Do you understand?

This blows my mind.

That God removed every single barrier for the children of Israel.

He removed the barrier of oppression, he delivered them from their literal chains.

He he removed the barrier of their enemies and he drowned them in a sea that was closed, but he even removed the barrier of a sea being closed and he opened the sea.

He removed the barrier of them feeling I have no leader and sent them a deliverer called Moses.

He removed all of the impossibilities, so it was possible for them to leave a life of bondage and go to a life of blessing.

God removed all of the barriers apart from one.

Because this one barrier, that was their job.

And this one barrier is the very same barrier that keeps so many of us from the promises of God that He's already in this book said, our ours, they belong to us.

He sent His Son to pay on a cross so we could possess the promises of life in its fullest, of peace that passes understanding, of blessings and his goodness and his forgiveness and his grace and his favor.

And he's removed so many of the impossible barriers.

Some of you were bound, but now you are free.

You are living in shame, but now you are saved.

You are living in darkness, but now you have the light.

You didn't have an eternity, but now you have a guaranteed of an eternity.

And the barrier I want to talk to you about today in this book of Numbers is the sound barrier.

The sound barrier.

In fact, those that were trying to gain speed in the air and speed on land had an awareness that when you got near the physical sound barrier, which was the natural build-up of the sound waves that created a barrier in the atmosphere when you got near them, there was actually a physical effect that would happen to a vehicle, a car, or an aeroplane that would get near that sound barrier, and it would even cause a distortion in the natural and a drag effect in the natural, and it would even create some kind of kinetic energy that could flip a car that got near the sound barrier and could actually get change the equilibrium of a person.

The sound barrier had enough force to manipulate even the body and the brain.

So for many years, the sound barrier was something that people thought you cannot break it.

This sound wave, it's not possible to get past it.

But the sound barrier was not even a physical barrier, it was an invisible barrier.

It was just the building up of sound to a level where it created a wall, and so many of us in our life are living at the wrong side of a sound barrier that has been building for years through our family, through our parents, through our company, through our community.

A sound barrier that we believe I can't get past it because it's all I ever hear, it's all I ever hear repeated in my home and in my world.

It's a sound barrier of negativity or a sound barrier of pride or a sound barrier of lack.

These sound barriers that actually feel like they are impenetrable.

But there was a day when in aviation someone realized wait a minute, if I build something that can travel faster than the speed of that sound, then I think maybe I can break through the sound barrier and find a momentum that is only possible if you push past those sound waves.

And so it was in 1947, around 40 years after the first aviation flight of the Wright brothers.

Funny how it was 40 years plus when it was 40 years in a wilderness when they didn't get to possess something, and it took them over 40 years to figure out I think we can do this, and so they built a vessel that would go faster than the speed of sound.

And I'm here to let you know that God needs us to build our lives in a way that can travel faster than the speed of sound, faster than the speed of criticism, faster than the speed of doubt, faster than the speed of the naysayer.

The Bible says in Romans 10, verse 17 that faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God.

Romans 10:17

The word of God can go faster than the speed of anybody's opinion, of anybody's idea and ideology.

The word of God has the potential and the power to break every sound barrier in your life.

The sound barrier of the lie, the sound barrier of the doubt, the sound barrier of the confusion.

The word of God is a light, it is clarity, and it has the ability to break the barriers.

And in the book of Numbers, we find the children of Israel.

God has done all that He can.

It's a done deal, it belongs to you, and yet we read page after page after page of them circling and wandering in a wilderness that God never told them to wander in.

He told them to pass through it, and the only barrier is the one of their own voices.

I'm here today to get some of you from renting in a wilderness, spending time, money, and energy on a residence in the wilderness when you are living right outside of the promise that God said He's already possessed for you, but the enemy is taking rent every single month from your life, and you are living right outside of a promise that God already paid for you to possess.

I'm done.

We are serving notice, and we are evicting some of us today from living in a place that God never intended you to live.

It's over, we're done, we're playing no games.

I want to give you three sound barriers that the children of Israel had to break.

And I have a feeling today that one, if not all, are the same sound barriers that we God's children today must break.

Some of you maybe have broken one of them, but maybe you're struggling with some of the others.

I want to talk to you about the sound barrier of your history, the sound barrier of familiarity, and the sound barrier of negativity.

Those three sound barriers kept the children of Israel from possessing the promise of God for all their life.

And if that does not freak you out, I don't know what else should because I just know today some of you are missing out the blessing of God, literally, because you're at the wrong side of this barrier.

The history.

Because when God set you free and told you, this is Canaan, go get it, and you sit and whinge and wine in a wilderness that he never told you to sit in, God also gets a little annoyed, and it says they began to cry out and they were angry and they were complaining.

Listen to this, it says, verse 4 the rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, If only we had meat to eat, we remember the fish that we ate in Egypt.

Watch this line, at no cost.

Also the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic.

But now we have lost our appetite because all we ever see is this manner.

Are you reading what I am reading?

We are complaining about a miracle dropping out of the sky to feed you daily.

We are we are romanticizing about our history, and here's what you need to know the enemy is not a creator, he cannot create, but he is an editor.

And the enemy does a good job remixing the soundtrack of your history.

He'll remix it and pull out the things he doesn't want you to remember, and he'll push up the volume in the mix of the things he does want you to remember.

And so now they're listening to the remix version of life in Egypt, and the beep goes down, and I remember the me, and it was good, and the cucumbers and onion and garlic, and he's remixing.

Oh, but he removed from the soundtrack, but when you were eating the meat, you had lashes on your back from the people that were shackling you in chains because you were their slave.

Oh, but he took that out of the mix because he knows in the wilderness, because you haven't broken a sound barrier, he's just gonna remind you of your history on your way to your destiny in the hope that you'll turn back because you don't feel you have enough energy to go forward.

And I'm just here to let you know history has a place.

And we thank God for the lessons of our history, and we thank God for what it teaches us and informs us, and we thank God for those that fought for things and stood for things, and we thank God for all of the things that our history can teach us, but your history has to understand that it does no longer get to be louder than your destiny.

It says in verse 4, the rabble, who are the rabble?

You know, the rabble were a group of those that weren't the children of Israel, they were non-Israelites, but when God delivered the children of Israel, some people jumped on the back of what God was doing.

Hey, I'd like to get out of here too.

Hey, I'd like to come along.

This sounds good to me, too.

So the rabble weren't even the ones that were the possessors of the promise, but that allowed the rabble from their past to come on the journey with them to their future.

So, watch who starts the negativity and the history conversation.

It's not the children of Israel at first, it's the rabble that began.

It says the rabble began to crave.

But watch the next verse, and then who?

The Israelites were triggered by the rabble.

Hey, some of you are taking the rabble into your future, which is why you can never possess your future, because when you get ready to possess your future, the rabble starts to talk about the good old times.

It's like you're in this room right now, and you're hearing the voice of God through the word of God.

And as you're sat where you are, it's like you can nod your head.

But some of you are sat where you are, but that's not the only thing you're hearing.

Because what nobody sees is there's another voice that has access to you, and so that you can cover it up, and you can be in the atmosphere of the church, and you can be under the sound of the word of God, but no one knows you came to the service with an airpod, and it's connected to the rabble of your past.

See, even though I'm wearing this airpod, because my husband knows I own this airpod on his device, he can actually control this airpod.

He could actually put music from his playlist on the airpod in my ear because I shared the information with him that I had this equipment.

And some of you shared the information about your future with some people that have no intention of possessing that future, and so when you take one step forward, they start speaking in your ear to take two steps back because the rabble don't want you to have what they can't have, they they're not part of the promise that you're part of.

And some of you come to church every Sunday and you nod your head, but there's another sound in your ear, which is why your marriage is still stuck, which is why you are still at the other side of the sound barrier because you brought the sound of history into the arena of your destiny.

Are you more loyal to your past?

Or are you more loyal to your promise?

Do you listen more to your cravings or do you listen more to your callings?

Because it said they began to crave other food.

Cravings begin to direct you, cravings begin to pull on your time and energy, and they craved a little bit of meat.

How crazy that you would give up a destiny in the land of Canaan for a little piece of meat, but some of you do it every Saturday night.

When you go down that bar and you hang out with that crowd and you do the thing you knew you shouldn't have done, it it's the craving that is pulling you into a decision that is keeping you from the destiny that God has for you.

But the rabble tell you, we all do it, it's no big deal, it doesn't matter.

Go to church on Sunday, ask for forgiveness, we'll be back here next Saturday.

Why don't you join us?

But that's why your life goes round in a circle and round in a circle, and you never get beyond what happened at the bar on Saturday because you're living from apology to apology on Sunday, and God didn't call you to live a life that keeps circling the same sin.

He called you to possess a future that is bigger than your wildest dreams.

But when you crave something, it causes you to lose your senses, and they were craving the past, and it caused them to lose their senses about their future.

And I'll need you to know there is a way to break the sound barrier because we read in the book of Numbers that when they're craving for old food, when they're craving for the old ways, Moses doesn't even know what to do anymore.

He's like, I don't even know how to lead these people.

The sound is overwhelming for me.

Moses even says, It's a burden that's too heavy for me.

And God says, I'll tell you how we fix it, I'll tell you how we start to try and break this sound barrier.

He said, Go get some of the leaders and go get some of the officials in Numbers 11, 16 to 18.

He said, I want them to come to the tent a meeting.

This is what I'm gonna do.

I'm gonna put my spirit on them.

And when I put my spirit on them, they'll start to prophesy in the camp.

Because if you want to break the sound barrier of your history, you gotta start prophesying about your destiny.

You gotta start prophesying about the future, you gotta talk about the future, you gotta aim.

The future.

You're going to pray about the future.

You're going to focus on the future.

He said, I'm going to put on them a spirit and they're going to start prophesying about what I've promised.

And I feel like God wants to drop the spirit of prophecy on so many of you today.

That you'd start prophesying over your children and prophesying over your marriage and prophesying over your finances.

God, this is what your word says.

This is what I know is mine.

I'm not going to declare the past.

I'm going to declare the word of God over my family.

Forget the former things, Isaiah says.

Stop dwelling on the past.

Man, it says in Isaiah, I'm making a way.

Where?

In the wilderness.

Where were they?

In the wilderness.

But if you can't break the sand barrier, the wilderness will become your future.

In fact, in Numbers 11, verse 32 to 34 is a whole other message that I don't have time for today.

Numbers 11:32–34

But God did give them meat to teach them a lesson.

Oh, you want your history?

I'll give you your history.

And the Bible says in Numbers 11, go and read it.

That they had the meat in their mouth.

That they'd said they craved.

And as they had the meat in their mouth, God killed them.

And the place became known as Hibrath Hattabah.

Do you know what Hibrath Hattabah means?

It means the grave of your cravings.

Canaan?

Or Hibrith Hattabah?

Where do you want your address to be?

Because where you decide to be a resident is where your children will also become a resident.

Or do you want your kids to grow up in the place called Canaan and the promised land?

Well, we're gonna have to do some work because there's some sound barriers then we have to break.

Sound barrier of history, the other sound barrier in numbers, it's a sound barrier of familiarity.

He says in Numbers 12, verses 1 through 16, it tells a story about Miriam and Aaron, the closest people to Moses, his siblings, his family.

And it says they began to talk against Moses.

And it says that they began to say, Well, has the Lord spoken only through Moses?

I mean, hasn't He also spoken through us too?

Hello, be careful because when you are spending a lot of time in the in-between seasons of your life with the same people every week, week in, week out, we can start to see people through the lens of familiarity instead of seeing people through the lens that God sees people, and now they start to complain and to criticize and gossip.

Hello?

Some of you are living at the wrong side of a sound barrier called gossip.

It will kill you, it will steal your future from you, and yet we've made it so innocent sounding.

We've made it not a big deal.

I mean, I just say what I feel, I just pass on a little information.

I mean, I I don't really like what's going on.

I'm just gonna share it with my sister.

I don't think she likes what's going on either.

We're just gonna have a chat about it.

It's all well-meaning.

Uh-uh.

I don't think so, because God didn't look lightly on this little conversation that Miriam and Aaron are having.

God didn't look lightly on it at all.

In fact, God was so angry that it goes on to tell us that he comes and he calls them out of the tent where they're having their gossip session and he says, You better stand there.

And then God comes down in a cloud and he puts leprosy on Miriam's flesh.

Her skin is being eaten by a disease because there was a disease on her tongue, and God said, The disease on your tongue is gonna eat the flesh of your body, and I'm letting you know, gossip will eat your flesh.

Gossip will eat you in a way that nothing else can eat you.

Gossip will chew you out, for you might be gossiping about someone today, but when you have gossip on you, they'll be gossiping about you tomorrow.

And so you have to understand gossip is like a contagious disease, and it will keep you from your destiny, and even if you are peddling a little bit in it, stepping a little bit in it.

God sent me to warn you today before you get in the conversation, before you even come in back, before you sit around another table where familiarity pulls down what God has placed on high ground before you talk down about the leader, before you pull down the church, before you criticize that person.

I just need to let you know God doesn't look like lightly on it like we do.

And God says to Miriam, whose skin is leprous, he says, Listen to listen to me.

I, the Lord, reveal myself to the prophets in visions, I speak to them in dreams.

But Moses, he's so faithful that I speak to him face to face, clearly and not in riddles.

He sees the form of the Lord.

Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant?

I'm telling you, we have lost the fear of God.

And listen to me.

In case you wonder where it starts, it starts in our homes.

The way you speak about your wife in front of your children, you say you speak about your husband in front of your children, you know the way your children speak about you in front of their siblings, the way we speak about God's house in our house, the way we speak about the church and the word of God, when we start letting our mouth become familiar, we stop God being able to use the very thing He said, I've put my hand on to be a blessing.

If you don't believe me, let me just remind you: Jesus could do nothing in Nazareth.

Let's not become Nazareth, let's not become the place where Jesus can't do a miracle because we just got so familiar.

It's just Shoreline, just Pastor Onika, just Pastor Earl.

I mean, they're just our pastors.

It's just this thing that's happening in Dallas, it's just a serve day, it's no big deal.

Do you not understand?

You're handling a miracle from God.

It's not a should I, should I, I'm not sure.

Should I go to serve day?

Shouldn't I go to serve day?

You are missing the point.

Because if you would consider going to a game more than you would consider going to serve day, something has become familiar in the hands of the people of God.

We got to beat the sound barrier of familiarity.

You know how you beat it?

You beat it with something called honor.

You honor God with all your heart, with all your soul, no games.

You honor your wife, you honor your husband, you honor your mom, you honor your dad.

And you might say, Well, they were never good to me.

That's not the point.

How are you gonna break the sound barrier if you are as dysfunctional as they were?

No, you decide I'm breaking the sound barrier.

You never spoke good to me, but I will speak good about you.

You never spoke a word that was honoring, but I'm gonna change what has happened for generations in this household.

I am breaking the sound barrier.

Sound barrier of history, sound barrier of familiarity.

What about the sound barrier of negativity?

I don't have time to tell it, but you're in the book of Numbers for a reason, so read it.

Their entire destiny, their entire future.

They don't get to possess it.

A generation die in the wilderness.

Why?

Because they put a pen in the hands of people that wrote a bad report.

Or negativity wants to write the report for your future.

Some of you have lived in a family, in a household, and generation in and generation out, it is negative.

I mean, we never see the positive, we never believe for better, we never talk about the good, we only talk about the bad.

You have lived in an environment where negativity is so normal, you think it's normal to speak like the normal that you've got so accustomed to.

And I'm just letting you know you've allowed a bad report to keep you from your future.

Don't trust the church with your money.

I won't put my tithe in the church, I won't give all my time and energy to these things of God.

Negativity is writing a report, you're reading it, you're believing it, and you're living outside of a promise that belongs to you.

How crazy is this?

They wrote a bad report, and the Bible says it gained traction because bad reports always gain more traction than good reports because there's more people living behind the same sound barrier of negativity than you and I understand.

And I'm challenging you today.

God removed every single barrier but this one, this sound barrier that they thought was impenetrable.

But oh my word, all it took was a different spirit, all it took was a Caleb, all it took was someone to say, I don't believe the report I've seen for myself.

I know it's gonna be hard.

I know there's some giants in the land, but what's louder than my fear is my faith, and I'm breaking this sound barrier.

Today I'm just letting you know this is a heavy word.

Because for some of you, this is generational, and if you don't break this, then your children and your children's children are left with a barrier that you decided I can't break.

But what would it look like if we decide on our watch, I'm not living behind that critical spirit anymore, I'm not living behind the gossip anymore, I'm not living around the past anymore.

I'm not living where we always talk about what's wrong anymore.

I am making a choice today to let my word, God's word, travel faster than this sound all across the house in every location.

Let's stand to our feet.

Times gone.

The sound barrier is not a real barrier, but it feels it.

Some of you are disorientated.

You even have a feeling when you get around certain people because the sound barrier is that real, it even makes you say stuff you didn't intend to say because the sound waves are so strong, it even makes your own sense of being and sense of clarity get confused when you get near it.

And I'm just letting you know God needs you to come away.

You know, when when when Miriam was struck with leprosy, the only way to break the familiarity and to break what was on her was it says they isolated her from the camp.

And until she was clean, she wasn't allowed back in.

And some of you are gonna have to spend some time in these next days and weeks isolating yourself from the sound barrier that you know is intimidating, that you know is overpowering, and building yourself up in God, building yourself up in the word of God, so when you step back into the atmosphere that always overwhelms you, you have something on the inside of you that will once and for all overwhelm it.

Let me tell you, some people aren't gonna like the new you because they like a gossip friend, they're not gonna like the new you because you're not gonna get negative and down in the problem and down in the muck like you always do.

But the new you is gonna go possess the future that God has for you, and so I'm asking you today.

The book of numbers is the book of in-between, and some of you have been in between for way too long.

It is time to sign up, it is time to commit, it is time to make a decision, it is time to say, I'm done.

Just close your eyes, right?

We are God.

We're so mindful in this moment of all you've done for us.

God, the things we couldn't break without you, God, without your power, without your son.

You broke the chains that we could never break.

Chains of sin, chains of shame.

You took our afflictions on him.

God, you did the work so that we could possess a promised life.

But God, we're mindful in this moment that so many of us you left a barrier for us to deal with, a sound barrier.

And today we're aware of what that is.

For some, it's the sound of our history, others it's the sound of familiarity, others it's the sound of just that negativity that we've got so used to.

And God, I pray today that you will put a courage on the inside of us, just like Caleb have.

That we will be people of a different spirit, and we will play no games with the sound barriers in our lives anymore.

For there is a generation that needs us to break it once and for all.

And I pray today our in-between days would be over and we become possessors of our future.

I pray our mouths would change, our declarations would change, our household sound would change as we speak in alignment with your words over our lives.

And his eyes are closed all across the house.

If you know today you are not where you should be with God, you've been living at the other side of the sound barrier of your maybe your sin and your shame and your past.

Maybe a mistake that you made.

Told you you're not worthy.

God couldn't forgive you.

There's no way He would make room for you.

And I'm here to let you know that is a lie from the enemy.

And today, all you have to do is break that sound barrier that's keeping you in your shame and your sin and say, God, I'm breaking through today.

God, would you save me?

His answer is yes.

Would you forgive me?

His answer is yes, God, do you have a plan for me?

His answer is yes and amen.

Today you gotta break some stuff in your head and in your heart.

So if today you know I need Christ, I gotta come back to him.

Or uh for the first time, put him in charge.

Now, right where you are, I just want you to lift your hand, his eyes are closed, all across the house, every location, even those online today.

It's time, it's time, it's time.

Take that same hand you just raised, put it right on your heart.

God, you see every single person.

Thank you for their honesty, God, in this moment.

This is how we break sound barriers, not faking it, not pretending, but getting honest before you, God.

God, we honestly need you.

We somehow we lost you along the way.

God, the world became noisy and you became quiet because God, we let the enemy take over the mix of our lives.

But today we stand in a place where we're being honest before you, and the truth is, God, we need you.

The truth is God, I am lost without you.

The truth is God, I am a sinner, and I need a savior.

So today, God, as every hand on every heart is responding.

Would you meet them there?

Let's break things today in the spirit that have been generational in the name of Jesus.

A promised life, a blessed life, a saved life, a redeemed life, a restored life is yours in the name of Jesus.

And we give you all the glory for it.

And the church said, Amen.
