That you are the spirit of truth and that we
-
should worship you in spirit and in truth. God, we
-
can't even worship you unless it's in spirit. Hallelujah. Because
-
it's in the spirit, God, that we realize and recognize
-
we find the truth.
-
So, Lord, we thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you for everybody that's here today. Thank you for
-
those that are on their way to your houses. Your houses, Lord.
-
Because we know some houses belong to the devil. So
-
we thank you.
-
Lord, that this is your house, Harvest Time Christian Church,
-
by Jesus Christ being the founder. We thank you, Lord,
-
for the temples that are here this morning, ready to
-
be filled and overflowing in the name of Jesus Christ. So, God,
-
we hand it over to you, and it's all in
-
your hands, Father. Amen. Teach, Holy Spirit, that you may
-
open up our understanding even more. Open up our eyes.
-
Open up our ears.
-
That we may hear and see you for who you
-
are and see ourselves for who we are in you.
-
In the name of Jesus. The truth is all that
-
we after, God.
-
The truth. In Jesus' name I pray.
-
Amen. If we would turn to Matthew 26.
-
Amen.
-
We're living in a day and time, as y'all turn
-
to Matthew 26, we're living in a day and time
-
that the church is doing just what the prophecy says,
-
falling away.
-
Yet, in the fall, they're still claiming to be Christians.
-
And then you have those who have never been a
-
Christian claiming to be a Christian. And you have those
-
who have been baptized.
-
As a heathen thinking that they are a saved Christian.
-
Amen? So the world is being bamboozled already, but now
-
the people of God are even being bamboozled by.
-
Their own selves, believing the lies.
-
Amen? Everybody's claiming to be a Christian. Amen? Everybody's claiming
-
to know God, but majority of people And that's a
-
great majority only know of God, maybe seated in the
-
house of the Lord.
-
Everybody don't know God.
-
And there are those that do know God and still
-
don't do right by God, calling themselves a Christian. And
-
what does that do?
-
Well, I'll tell you.
-
It dilutes it. It dilutes the fact that of the
-
real Christians, because they're looking at you who are the
-
real Christians who are really following the commandments of God.
-
They looking at you like those folks that claim to
-
be Christians acting a fool and acting hedonistic. But yet
-
they at church every Sunday. There are those that are
-
in the house of God and the temple of God
-
every Sunday.
-
And there is no improvement in their lives at all.
-
There are those houses of God that call they self,
-
call they self having revivals in the house of God.
-
We're going to be in a week of revival. We're
-
going to be in a three-day revival. We're going to
-
be in a five-day revival. We're going to be in
-
a two-week revival. We're going to fast for 40 days
-
and 40 nights. We're going to fast for 20 days,
-
21 days, and nothing comes out of it like a Christian.
-
They're still in the same state.
-
Do you believe because they don't understand what a revival represents?
-
Is it that they really don't understand the recipe for fasting?
-
You believe.
-
Could you believe maybe that's the problem with revivals because
-
they don't really understand what it's about and how it's
-
supposed to be conducted and what's supposed to happen in it?
-
Would you believe that they don't really understand or know
-
that there is a recipe for fasting? See, fasting and
-
losing weight ain't the same thing. Fasting and dieting is
-
not the same thing. Dieting is a carnal thing that
-
you do for yourself. Fasting is something you do unto God,
-
which is spiritual for the weakening of the flesh and
-
the building up of your spirit. So this is conclusive
-
for me to understand why everybody think they are Christian
-
and they're not because they have no real understanding. So
-
here we see in chapter 26 of Matthew and starting
-
at verse 69.
-
Are you with me?
-
It says, now Peter sat without in the palace. There
-
was a court outside the palace, so he sat in
-
their court. And when he sat in their court, Peter
-
could actually see Jesus and what was going on. And
-
a damsel came unto him, saying, you also were with
-
Jesus of Galilee.
-
She was saying it with sarcasm.
-
But he denied before them all. That was the first denial.
-
of the three that Jesus said he would do. He's saying,
-
I know not what you say. And when he was
-
gone out in the port, so then he came out
-
of the court, and he came out of the court
-
and went on to the port. And what he was
-
trying to do at this point, after being questioned and
-
gave his first denial, he was trying to get away
-
from them. That's what he was doing. But another maid
-
saw him and said unto him, who.
-
Were there?
-
This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. Also, she's
-
saying with sarcasm. And again, he denied with an oath.
-
And the oath was he didn't know him.
-
He don't know him.
-
He said, I don't know. I do not know the man.
-
He claimed not even to know his name. He didn't
-
know Jesus.
-
And after a while, and if you look in the
-
book of.
-
Luke, when it says after a while, according to Luke
-
22 and 59, it was an.
-
Hour of time.
-
It was an hour had passed. When it said after
-
a while, it was about an hour. You look in
-
the book of Luke 22 and 59 and let you
-
know that. It says, and after a while came unto
-
him they that stood by and said to Peter, they,
-
it was more now than came to him. Surely, they
-
was fully persuaded. You also are one of them. Who
-
is them? No. Who is them? Watch this.
-
This is what we're talking about this morning. Everybody claiming
-
to be a Christian.
-
He said, you also are one of them. Because remember,
-
in Antioch, they were first called Christians. So now he's
-
saying you are one of them. You one of them Christians.
-
You one of them Christians. You one of them. It
-
didn't say you one of him. It said you one
-
of them.
-
Let's pay attention to the reading of the word.
-
For your speech betrays you. He was a Galilean. And
-
all the other disciples with him, except Judah. Judas was
-
a Galilean. Then begot he to curse and to swear. Now, see,
-
I used to teach it like this, that he was
-
using profanity. But this is not what it's saying. So
-
I'm going to correct myself because I looked into this more.
-
He wasn't using profanity. The Bible says, then began.
-
He to curse and to swear.
-
Not profanity. So what he was doing was taking a
-
solemn oath, such as men did in the court. This
-
is something that they practice, amen? It was something they
-
did in the court of justice. They took this, they
-
would begin to curse and swear that, and what they
-
was doing was that they was saying, they was using
-
God to say what they were saying was true. Man,
-
you know how people say, man, I'm telling you, man,
-
on God I'm telling you. So that's what he was
-
actually doing. He was calling up on God to curse
-
him if the oath was false.
-
That's what he was doing.
-
Man, if I'm lying, God strike me down.
-
That's what he was doing. doing. So it seems to
-
be more believable if.
-
A person say, man, I'm telling you, if I'm lying,
-
God take me out. Who going to do that if
-
you tell them the truth? You don't want to say
-
nothing like that. So that's what he was doing. On God,
-
I don't know Jesus. On God, I don't know him.
-
That's what he was saying. That's worse than using profanity.
-
This is why, when I got this understanding, my spirit
-
spoke to me and said, that's worse than profanity. This
-
man was saying on God. He said, then begin he
-
to curse and to swear using an oath to say
-
that what he's saying is true. And it was a
-
sin to do so. Saying, I know not the man.
-
So meaning that when he swore by God that he
-
knew not Jesus, that's why he's saying, I know not
-
the man. Meaning that I swear by God I don't
-
know him. And immediately, after he done swore to God,
-
the cock crowed.
-
Turn with me to verse 31. Verse 31. 26 and 31.
-
I want to get into this. Amen. Amen. Now this is,
-
I read you the denial, and now I'm going to
-
read you the prophecy of the denial. This is before
-
it ever happened. It was told to him it would happen.
-
Then said Jesus to them, there it goes to them again,
-
who was them? The disciples. All you shall be offended
-
because of me this night. So he's telling them, all
-
of y'all are going to forsake me. Everyone of y'all
-
are going to forsake me. But I would never forsake you.
-
So he said, then said Jesus to them, all shall
-
be offended because of.
-
Me this night.
-
For it is written, it's already written, I will smite
-
the shepherd and the sheep of the flock shall be
-
scattered abroad. Zechariah said that in 13 and 7. But
-
after I am risen again, I will go before you
-
in Galilee.
-
But none of them really believed what he was saying.
-
Peter answered and said unto him, see, this is why
-
Peter answered the way he did and they did because
-
they didn't really believe, really believe what Jesus was saying.
-
Peter answered and said unto him, though all men shall
-
be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.
-
A boastful, prideful statement, but watch this.
-
Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto you that
-
this night before the rooster crows, ye shall deny me thrice.
-
Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you,
-
yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all
-
of the disciples. He said all of them made the
-
same boastful claim. They said the same thing Peter said.
-
But notice when I read verses 69 through 74, Peter
-
was denying him. But watch this. Peter could actually see Jesus.
-
I'll die with you.
-
He could see him being persecuted unlawfully.
-
Because at that time of night when they had the
-
Sanhedrin court, it was unlawful to have it at that
-
time of night. But they did everything they knew to
-
do to try to get rid of him because he
-
was taking their glory. But he really wasn't because the
-
glory was already his father's.
-
They thought it belonged to them. So them, you look.
-
Like one of them.
-
You sound like one of them.
-
You act like one of them. You walk like one
-
of them. Them being Christian. You see, when a Christian,
-
and they do it all the time, Some of them
-
probably doing it. Some of them doing it right now.
-
I don't even say probably. Christians try to fit in
-
with the world. And sometimes the Holy Ghost gets a
-
hold of the heathen and gives the heathen what to say.
-
And the heathen will say, man, you ain't part of this. Man,
-
you ain't made up like us, man. Man, you can't be.
-
No, man, go on home now.
-
Gone home now. And then pride jumps up in the Christian.
-
Man, I'm about this.
-
See, the world can see you because the enemy knows
-
the spirit of God. The evil spirits know the righteous spirits.
-
And the righteous spirit should know, should know, should know
-
the evil spirits. But when you're out of focus, you
-
can't see. So let's break this down because everybody's a
-
Christian today. Everybody is a Christian because they go to
-
church or they might pray over their food or they
-
might read a scripture or two.
-
But they're a Christian. What is a Christian? What does
-
Christian mean?
-
It's a follower of Christ. Let's break that down. A
-
Christian is a follower of Christ.
-
Does that mean? Come on. Keep walking.
-
Just make me a follower of her. Does this make
-
me a follower of her? Now, throw your hands up
-
in the air.
-
Put them back down. Throw your hands up in the air.
-
Put them back down.
-
Did this make me a.
-
Follower of her?
-
See, y'all said I'm following her, but you said it
-
in a natural sense and didn't realize it. That's why
-
I did that. It was a trick.
-
I wasn't following her. I was just behind her. She
-
raised her hands up. I didn't raise my hands up.
-
I was just behind her.
-
A follower. A Christian is a follower of Christ. What
-
does that mean?
-
That they're walking behind him?
-
So, y'all tell me.
-
Everybody stand up.
-
Everybody stand up. Now, I want every one of you
-
to follow Jesus right now. Can't do it that way,
-
can you? You know why you can't do it that way?
-
Because he ain't here.
-
To walk around.
-
That's why it's a spiritual understanding. A follower of Christ
-
is not because I'm walking behind him. Can you walk
-
behind him?
-
Do you see him? That you can walk behind him?
-
No.
-
He's in you.
-
So you got to understand the spiritual. A follower, a
-
Christian is a follower of Christ.
-
What does that mean? That means a person that.
-
Follows the very character and attributes of Christ. Not walking
-
behind him. Because they called them Christians in Antioch. Jesus
-
wasn't walking in front of them. They called them there
-
because they were acting like him. See, that was a
-
good point. Because that's what's wrong with the church today.
-
They ain't got no spiritual understanding. They're taking too much
-
carnality and putting it in with God's word. The Bible
-
said worship him in spirit and in truth. So a
-
Christian is a follower of Christ. This word occurs three
-
times in the New Testament. The disciples were first called
-
Christians in Antioch in the book of Acts, chapter 11,
-
verse 26, three times. Agrippa said to Paul, because of
-
Paul's ways and speech, you almost persuaded me to be
-
a Christian.
-
That's in Acts 26 and 28.
-
Peter exalted, if anyone suffer as a Christian, there it
-
is again, let him not be ashamed, but let him
-
glorify God in this matter. And that was mentioned in
-
1 Peter 4 and 16. In each of these instances,
-
the word Christian assumes that the person called by the
-
name was a follower of Christ.
-
I said assume.
-
That they were a follower of Christ because they called
-
him a Christian too many of us we be talking
-
to people and we tell them oh yeah man he's
-
a Christian so he you know he good oh yeah
-
man he love the Lord so you know you gonna
-
be good How do you know that? How do you
-
know he's a Christian? Because he do good things?
-
How do you know? Because he did right by you?
-
How do you know he love the Lord?
-
We just slang it around. Oh yeah, he a Christian too.
-
He a Christian brother.
-
See, he just slang it around. The idiotic, demonic... Catholic
-
man said Trump ought to know better being that he's
-
a Christian. The man called Trump a Christian. See what
-
I mean? He's slinging it around. Trump doesn't even go
-
to church. He was only, when he was sitting in
-
the Catholic churches at the time when he got inaugurated,
-
he was very uncomfortable. You could see it all over
-
his face. And any time he even went to the
-
funeral of an individual, he was uncomfortable because he a heathen.
-
He's not a Christian. But we are putting the title
-
on everybody. They put the title on Trump.
-
You know he in trouble.
-
Assume that the person called by that name was a
-
follower But let me tell you something about a Christian.
-
Are you listening? Hear me very good, very well. Open
-
up your ears, your spiritual ears.
-
A Christian, every Christian that is a Christian.
-
Are loyal to Christ.
-
Christians, as I said before, were first called.
-
By the name by non-Christians.
-
There were non-Christians that called them Christians. They weren't even Christians.
-
But they recognized something even though they were being sarcastic.
-
Non-Christians called them Christians.
-
Imagine that.
-
And you got Christians calling heathens Christians. So you telling
-
me the heathens can recognize a Christian but the Christians can't?
-
Is that what you're telling me?
-
The heathen can recognize a Christian but the Christians can't
-
recognize a heathen? And they were first called back Christians
-
by non-Christians. They were ridiculing them, really. But eventually, they
-
used it themselves, meaning the people of God, as a
-
name of honor. Christian is a name of honor, not dishonor,
-
not disobedience, not heathenistically, a heathen's.
-
But it was a.
-
Name of honor and it was not of shame. Prior
-
to this, calling Christians, they called themselves believers. The believers.
-
The believers. Why do they call them believers? The ones
-
that believe in Jesus Christ. The ones that believe in
-
him so they walk like him, they follow him.
-
They call themselves believers.
-
Why do they call them believers? Because they believe in Jesus.
-
And how do you know they believe in Jesus? Because
-
they were keeping his commandments. And that was mentioned in
-
Acts 5 and 14. And then there was a time
-
in Acts 6 and 3 they called them brothers. Hey,
-
Brother James. They called themselves brothers. That was in Acts
-
5 and 14.
-
No, I'm sorry. It was in Acts 6 and 3.
-
Then there was a time when they said, come on,
-
you saints of God.
-
Come on, saints. Acts 9 and 13. But now.
-
Now, in our age, today, they name Christians, the name
-
itself has been somewhat emptied.
-
See, it's empty.
-
When you call a heathen a Christian, that's empty.
-
There's no fulfilling in that. It's not fulfilling.
-
It's empty of it.
-
Empty of what?
-
It's empty of its.
-
True meaning because he ain't no Christian.
-
He a heathen. You calling him a Christian? You calling
-
her a Christian? It's empty of the true meaning of
-
a Christian. They not followers of Christ. They following their
-
father the devil.
-
It's empty as a follower of Christ to some today.
-
To some today To some today, not all, but to
-
some today, it means just a person who goes to church.
-
Everybody go to church, they're a Christian, Brother James. You
-
hear me, Deacon? Everybody go to church, they're a Christian.
-
That's what some people believe.
-
Man, he is a Christian, man. He go to church.
-
Why he smoking that weed then and drinking that yak?
-
Oh, man, he just need deliverance.
-
From what? He do it every day. What do you
-
think the difference between a sinner and a saint is?
-
Can a saint sin? Yes. But he repents of his sin.
-
And the difference between a saint and a sinner, why
-
do you.
-
Think they call him a sinner? Sinner. Sinner. Because he
-
continually sins like a joy to his heart.
-
That's the difference.
-
You calling somebody a saint that's a continuous sinner? He
-
need more than deliverance. He need to be saved first.
-
Because once he gets saved, then he can be delivered.
-
So some today, it means to them, because a person
-
goes to church, are The name of a particular denomination,
-
you know, he a Baptist, Catholic. So he a Christian.
-
But originally, he meant a noble one. That's what a
-
Christian is. A noble one of which any follower of
-
Christ can rightly be proud. So I ask you today,
-
are we all Christians? Are we all in Christ?
-
And is nobody out?
-
Because according to my Bible, there are only a few
-
in and a whole lot out. Because when the pressure
-
of life is applied, it's very important. Because this is
-
how God allows you to find out who you really are.
-
It also allows you to find out where you are.
-
It also allows you to find out not only where
-
you are but what you need more of. Because when
-
the pressures of life is applied.
-
To you, do you forget you're a Christian? I've seen
-
some pressure applied, and I ain't going to mention no name.
-
I told my wife about it.
-
When I was out of town at the celebration of
-
my grandmother's. I've seen pressure applied to an individual who said,
-
who not only a Christian, but one that ministered the
-
word of God. And had a premeditated action waiting to
-
beat somebody up in the family. See what happens when
-
pressure is applied? You find out who you are. And
-
I listened to this individual. And I was like, man,
-
that ain't God. That's a premeditated thing. You waiting on
-
this individual to say one thing out of line and
-
you going to beat him up?
-
That's premeditated.
-
You're waiting. That ain't something that just happened like something
-
that just, bam, popped out. You're sitting back there waiting.
-
Come on. Do it. Say it.
-
I'm waiting on you.
-
So when pressure is applied, do you forget you're a
-
Christian or do you stand? Do you stand on what
-
you believe? See, only you can really believe you're a Christian.
-
Once you get saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled, you've
-
got to believe that by faith, that you're in that
-
character of God, that you've been saved, that you've been sanctified.
-
which means you've been set apart for God and not
-
for your own selfish desires anymore. And it's he that
-
live and you don't live no more. This is the
-
mind frame that you have to have faith in in
-
order to.
-
Be a Christian and be a follower of Christ.
-
Amen. Because pressure changed Peter's mind about wanting to follow Jesus.
-
It changed his mind.
-
You hear me, Deke? When he saw Jesus being persecuted,
-
he changed his mind.
-
Hold on. I don't want none of that. I don't
-
think I can follow you no more. You one of
-
them Christians, ain't you, boy? Oh, no. I'm not no Christian. See,
-
he was disclaiming that because that means you're a follower
-
of him.
-
Oh, no, no, no. I don't know him. I don't
-
know him. See, that's what happens when the pressure applies,
-
when the pressure's applied.
-
What do you believe about a Christian then or a
-
Christian in your life? I almost said Christianity. Y'all quit
-
saying Christianity. Christianity don't even exist. It's not even a denomination. Well,
-
it's a denomination, rather. Christianity is a denomination, which means
-
it's false.
-
You're not a Christian. You're a Christian.
-
Amen.
-
Find Christianity in the Bible, and I'll believe you. Also,
-
find Trinity in the Bible, and I'll believe you also. Okay,
-
back to what we're talking about. The pressure changed Peter's mind.
-
You see, this walk is not an easy walk.
-
But yet as a Christian, we have assurance that the
-
word of.
-
God will keep us if we believe.
-
As a Christian, if we believe the word of God
-
will keep us, it will.
-
It won't if we don't believe it.
-
When trouble comes, As a matter of fact, I was talking.
-
To one of my brothers the other day about the trouble.
-
And when trouble comes, how quick we forget the word
-
of God.
-
So what am I saying?
-
That's how quick you forget what you believe in. But
-
if you stand firm on it, and the only way
-
to stand firm on it is you got to stay
-
in it. You got to practice it. You can't pick
-
it up once a week. You can't believe in it
-
once a week. You got to believe in it every
-
day of your life. Watch this. But as a Christian,
-
we have the assurance that the word of God will
-
keep us if we believe. But it's hard to believe
-
if you're not practicing what you believe. But yet today,
-
everybody claims to be a Christian. But I got to ask.
-
As I continually ask when I see it and when
-
folks claim it. Where's the proof? Where's the proof? Man,
-
come on now. If you're a doctor, there's going to
-
be some proof.
-
And it ain't because you got a stethoscope around your
-
neck either. There's going to be some proof, Dick.
-
You hear me? If you're a carpenter, there's going to
-
be some proof. Not because you walk around with a hammer.
-
When I'm asking you to use that hammer, the proof
-
going to come out. When I ask you to cut that,
-
I hand me a one by and you bring me
-
a two by. Come on. Come on.
-
I want your carpentry skills, buddy.
-
Huh? That's some proof. I bet you ain't going to
-
go to court unless you got some proof you're a
-
real lawyer and you and you. and it's pressing that
-
you might go do some prison.
-
Time, I bet you're going to make sure you got
-
a real lawyer, ain't you?
-
Uh-huh. You're going to want some proof. Some folk look
-
that lawyer up and look at his record. They want
-
some proof. Amen, somebody. All your power done went out
-
in your house. You need an electrician. You ain't going
-
to hire a garbage man, are you? You're going to
-
call somebody that know electrician. You're going to look in
-
a book that said they're electrician because that's going to
-
be proof to you that the registry say they're electrician.
-
And it's going to be proof to you if you
-
call Sister Porter.
-
And she say he fixed her electrical problem at home
-
so she know that he electrician. That's going to be
-
proof to you. What a proof! You say you're a Christian.
-
You see, those people, they practice. They practice what they
-
want to be. Matter of fact, to be a doctor,
-
it takes a lot. They go through a lot of schooling.
-
Am I right? Lawyers go through a lot to pass
-
the bar. So they press and they press and they
-
study and they study and they study. And they study.
-
And they practice. You see, when I was becoming an
-
aviation electrician, I had to study. Then I had to
-
take tests. Written tests from what I studied. And the
-
only way I could pass the test is if I studied.
-
Hear me? The only way I could pass the test
-
is if I studied. And then after I passed my
-
written test... I had to go and walk down the
-
corridor to a room that was a lab. And then
-
I had to go in and take a physical test.
-
Y'all don't hear what I'm saying. I had to get
-
the pros and everything and measure the voltage in the watch.
-
And I had to solve the problem in the electrical
-
component physically after I passed the written test. I had
-
a physical test. And if I didn't come right to
-
the physical test, I failed immediately. That's how strongly it
-
was that you.
-
Get it right.
-
Because in that instance, it's still this instance.
-
On the flight line, if you don't know what you're doing,
-
you can kill somebody. Y'all hear what I'm saying?
-
See, if I went into the physical test after walking
-
down the corridor, there was an instructor at the door.
-
And when he opened the door, he was looking at you.
-
Y'all didn't get this. When the instructor opened the door,
-
he was looking at you.
-
And if he saw that you had on a watch or.
-
A ring, you immediately failed the test. You weren't even
-
allowed in the room. So when you came to take
-
the test, you had to come right before the instructor.
-
So you had to practice.
-
And as you're walking down to the corridor, you had
-
to focus.
-
You had to check yourself.
-
You had to check yourself to see if you were
-
right before you went in the room. I went down
-
to the room.
-
I had to look at myself. Oh, I got to
-
take this ring off. I got to take this watch off.
-
I got to take off these metal glasses.
-
You had to check yourself. Because the instructor was going
-
to definitely judge you when you got to the door.
-
So you had to check yourself.
-
See, the Bible said, judge yourself that you need not
-
be judged by anybody else. Got to check yourself. See,
-
so all of those professions, they had to practice at
-
what they were trying to become. They made it what
-
we don't do a habit. Christians don't make it a
-
habit to pick up their word. They don't make it
-
a habit to study their word. But these professions that
-
I admitted to you, they make it a practice. And
-
they make it a habit.
-
Because why?
-
They want what they want. So what do they do?
-
You say you want to be a Christian? They say
-
they want to be a carpenter, a doctor. So what
-
do they got to do?
-
They got to put in the work. They put in
-
the work.
-
They put in the work. And it costs them a lot.
-
It cost them a lot. But they pay the price
-
for the books, for the college, to get what they want.
-
And since they pay a lot, they focus on what
-
they're after. And they make it a habit to study
-
and practice.
-
Because why?
-
Why? They're putting in the work because they believe. That's
-
why they're doing it. They believe in what they were
-
trying to become. I'm trying to become a doctor. I
-
ain't got time to party with y'all, man.
-
I got a testimony. I got an exam. They put
-
in the work. They stay focused.
-
You ain't walking in no room and having no heart
-
surgery and you ain't put in no work and you
-
ain't practice. And if I find out who you are,
-
I ain't going under no anesthesia until they get you
-
out the.
-
Room because you don't know what you're doing.
-
And that's who they're calling Christians today. They don't know
-
what they're doing. They ain't putting no work. They just
-
mention something, scripture, some.
-
Some, some. They think every gospel singer's a Christian.
-
Liar! Liar! Kirk Franklin is a heathen. As a matter
-
of fact, he can't even sing. He's a full-fledged heathen.
-
He can't dance either.
-
He looks flicked in what he's doing.
-
He ain't got no rhythm. But y'all calling him a Christian?
-
Man ain't a bit more a Christian than the man
-
in the moon. His whole surrounding is heathens. We be
-
glorifying the wrong folks all the time. Oprah Winfrey is
-
the devil's sister. Oh, but she be giving away this
-
and the Bible don't say just because you give away.
-
It don't mean nothing because you feed the hungry and
-
feed the sick. What you think them folks did in
-
the book of Matthew when they were pleading with God?
-
We healed them. We healed them. Yeah, but depart from me,
-
you workers, you sinners, you workers of iniquity.
-
Your works ain't going to get you into heaven.
-
Amen. Your salvation and your holy living is going to
-
get you into heaven. So you got to know what
-
it means to be a Christian. Because most folks don't know.
-
That's why they're calling them folks Christians. They don't know
-
what it is to be a Christian. To be a Christian,
-
you have to walk holy. To be a Christian, you
-
got to live holy. Not before me, not before your partners,
-
but before God. God is the judge of holiness, not me.
-
That's what's wrong with people. They letting somebody else judge holiness.
-
God is the judge of holiness. Amen. To keep God's commandments,
-
that's what it means to be a Christian. To know
-
that no weapon formed against you will prosper. I said
-
to know it.
-
That's past believing.
-
To know it. That no weapon formed against you will prosper.
-
To know it. That by his stripes.
-
You will heal. That all things. This is a good
-
one here. This is what we're really losing as Christians.
-
Work together for the good of.
-
Them that love the Lord. All things work together for
-
your good. That he shall. I don't care if gas
-
is $ 5. He shall supply all of your needs.
-
See, Christians know that. They know that. He shall supply
-
all of your needs.
-
He's your shepherd. Not only will he supply all of
-
your need, but he's your shepherd and you shall not want.
-
That all of his promises.
-
See, a lot of Christians fall short of his promises.
-
Because they don't believe it? No, because they don't know
-
it to believe it. My people perish because of what?
-
Lack of what?
-
Knowledge.
-
That's the problem. They fall short of the promises because
-
they don't know them. And then those that know them
-
don't believe in them.
-
Or should I say, those that know of them don't
-
believe in them.
-
Because those that know them, they believe. They believe that
-
all his promises are yes.
-
They don't know.
-
All his promises, all his promises, all of his promises
-
are yes and amen. In other words, yes it is
-
and so shall it be. Yes it is and so
-
shall it be as I said it would be. That's
-
what it's going to be. In Jesus' name, let me
-
put the icing on the cake. Because the name of
-
Jesus is the power of the promise. That's the power
-
of the promise. In Jesus' name. You got to know
-
this and believe it. And you got to believe it
-
in the know it. As a Christian. So you can
-
stand as a Christian.
-
People using the name so loosely.
-
Everybody's a Christian.
-
Everybody's a Christian nowadays.
-
It don't matter how they live. They're Christian. God is good, right?
-
And we are all God's children, right? God is good.
-
We all God's children. Like it's some kind of club.
-
Motorcycle club. You got motorcycles riding with God on them.
-
Just as demonic as ever.
-
Some people believe because they can sing in the choir
-
that they are Christian.
-
Or they know a few verses of the Bible.
-
Or you go to a temple or become, or you
-
go to a temple because you've been baptized. Don't you
-
know everybody baptized ain't no Christian? Whole lot of people
-
getting baptized the wrong way, and they're not even baptized.
-
Because the baptizer is not even baptizing them right. Amen, somebody?
-
They baptizing heathens. Why?
-
Because they're emotional.
-
They're emotional. And they ain't even baptizing right.
-
Go to the Catholic church and they sprinkle water on you.
-
Baptize, baptism means to be submerged because it is a burial.
-
And then you come and resurrect out of the water
-
as Jesus did.
-
He didn't sprinkle it away.
-
He didn't baptize you in the name of the Father,
-
in the name of the Son, in the Holy Ghost.
-
What happened to the name of Jesus?
-
Woo! Are you a Christian?
-
A Christian knows Jesus.
-
Why?
-
Because they follow him. That's why.
-
You ain't no Christian because you sing in a choir.
-
You know a few Bible verses. Or you go to church.
-
Or you been baptized.
-
It don't make you a Christian. You got to be saved.
-
You got to be saved. You see, them daggone Jews
-
would not call themselves Christians because it would say that
-
they were the people of the Messiah. And they didn't
-
believe that Jesus was the Messiah. So they didn't allow
-
you to call them no Christian because they didn't believe it.
-
You got to live holy and obey God's word. You
-
calling yourself a Christian.
-
I'm talking about there.
-
Ain't no easy walk, but you still got to obey
-
God's word. I don't care if the man got four
-
tires for you at $ 100 and he stole them. A
-
Christian ain't buying them. I had a guy on the
-
other day, I was giving a quote, a bid for
-
a roof, and I.
-
Told the guy what it was going to cost.
-
I called the company and let him hear it on
-
the speakerphone what it was going to cost so that
-
he'll know I ain't charging no more than they charge,
-
even though I could. Then the guy with me, he
-
called a guy and said he can get that amount
-
of shingles. And as soon as he said it, the
-
Spirit spoke to me and said, he's stealing that stuff.
-
I said, no, man, we don't need him. See, when
-
you're a Christian, you won't follow Jesus. You won't have
-
to ask what they used to be asking when they
-
wore them little bracelets, what.
-
Would Jesus do?
-
Because if you study it, you know what he'd do.
-
They used to walk around with their little braces on.
-
Y'all remember them braces?
-
WWJD.
-
What that mean, man? I'm asking Christians.
-
What it mean. They talking about what would Jesus do.
-
They proud of it. What would Jesus do? That's what
-
it say. What would Jesus do? I said, mine don't
-
say that.
-
What yours say? Mine say walk with Jesus daily and
-
you know what he'll do. That's what I told them
-
mine said. They looked at me like, you just arrogant. No,
-
I'm just right about it. Yeah, I'm right about it.
-
Because he's right about it. Right about what?
-
Walking with Jesus daily and you'll know what he'll do.
-
Y'all run around guessing what would Jesus do. That's a guess.
-
So you got to be holy and obey God's word.
-
And then It will show forth in your life what
-
you really are professing. When you walk like him, talk
-
like him, act like him, live.
-
Like him, then it's going to profess.
-
You ain't got to open your mouth. Your very character,
-
your very body language going to say, Jesus, Jesus, saved,
-
saint of God, Christian.
-
But when you blind and.
-
Can't see, everybody look like they're walking like him. When
-
you ignorant and blind, everybody look like they're walking like him,
-
but they're not. It's going to show forth in your
-
life what you really profess when you walk like him.
-
That's the truth of it.
-
I can't call Kirk Franklin a saint of God. I
-
can't call T.D. Jakes a saint of God. I can't
-
call them folks saints of God because they don't act
-
like him. They don't show a professing life like him.
-
They're greedy, filthy, felucca of the world. They're confused. I
-
believe Kirk Franklin is homosexual. I said, I believe it.
-
I know T.D.
-
Jakes is, but I believe he is. A whole lot
-
of sissies got wives because they're a cover up.
-
But when you live holy and obey him, you won't
-
need a sign on your car or a shirt on
-
your back.
-
You won't need no acting lessons because your actions will
-
show a hunger and longing for to be like Jesus.
-
And that is to please God. See, when you want
-
to be like Jesus, you want to please God. When
-
you want to be like Mike, you ain't trying to
-
please God. When you want to be like T.D. Jakes,
-
Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, you ain't
-
trying to be like God. You're trying to be like
-
some heathens, calling yourself a Christian. But when you're trying
-
to be like Jesus and you're walking the walk, then
-
you can call yourself a Christian.
-
But until then, that ain't you.
-
And that's going to show in the hunger and the
-
longing to be like him. There's got to be a
-
hunger for him.
-
Amen.
-
Amen. Amen. There's got to be a hunger. See, folks
-
get saved. They get sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
And then they lose the hunger somewhere along the line.
-
It's not that they weren't there. That's what backsliding is.
-
That's what happens when you backslide. That's what the word
-
backslide means.
-
You were there.
-
But you backslid because you lost your hunger. You lost
-
your focus. You began to adapt to the world. That's
-
what happened to all of those nations we've been reading
-
about in the Old Testament. And even now in this
-
day and time, the hunger is lost. They've lost the
-
hunger and the longing. You got to keep the hunger
-
and the longing. I tell people all the time, you
-
want to work with me, you got to come starving.
-
And then when you come starving.
-
You're going to get fed, but then stay hungry.
-
You know what I'm saying?
-
You come starving, and once you eat, stay hungry. Why
-
you got to stay hungry? Why you got to stay hungry?
-
Because you want to keep eating. And you don't want
-
to starve again. See, when you're hungry, that don't mean
-
you're starving. That just means you didn't eat.
-
But it's been a while.
-
Now you're hungry again. Starving means you ain't had nothing
-
in a long, long time. But when you lose that
-
hunger and that longing. See, when you get hungry, you long.
-
For a chicken sandwich, don't you?
-
For some baby back ribs, some mashed potatoes and greens
-
and pork chops. You're hungry, now you got to longing
-
for something.
-
So you got to stay.
-
Hungry and continue to long for the Lord Jesus Christ's
-
ways in your life. If you want to be like Jesus,
-
if you want to please God, so are.
-
You in or out?
-
Either you're in or you're out. Because see, Out is
-
a dangerous place to be, even once you've been in. See,
-
when Jesus went in, he stayed in. He stayed in.
-
He never came out. He had a mission to complete
-
a purpose.
-
That's what we got.
-
Once we get in, there's a mission to complete a purpose.
-
The devil got a mission to complete a purpose that
-
he put in his own people. They on a mission, too,
-
to complete a purpose.
-
You don't hear what I'm saying?
-
So God is asking you today, because he wasn't talking
-
to you like this yesterday, but he was talking to you.
-
But not about this, but somewhat. So God is asking today,
-
are you in or are you out?
-
Are you going to be a Christian? Are you going
-
to just be like a Christian? Which means every now
-
and then. Because trouble... didn't dictate to Jesus whether or
-
not he will continue to believe in God. He stayed
-
Jesus through all the trouble, through all the mockery, and
-
through the cross.
-
To the barrier.
-
So trouble never dictated to Jesus. whether or not he
-
would continue, continue to believe God. But people, Sister Lee
-
was talking about me in church.
-
I ain't going there no more.
-
Well, Deacon James, they ain't going to let me sing
-
on Sunday, so I ain't coming no more. Why was
-
Sister Barbara sitting in my seat? She's sitting in my seat.
-
I come back next Sunday sitting in my seat.
-
No, I sit there every Sunday.
-
Trouble didn't dictate to Jesus whether or not he would
-
stay Jesus. And it definitely didn't dictate to him whether
-
or not he was going to continue to believe God.
-
The world, it didn't turn Jesus to the left or
-
to the right. The world, like it do some of
-
us that claim to be Christian. Somebody out there in
-
the world cuss you out real good.
-
Oh, my God, that old man raised up and shake
-
the dust off. And you will feel them words. You
-
will remember them words you used to say.
-
But are you going to say them? Are you going
-
to stand on your Christianity, being a Christian? The world
-
didn't turn him from the right to the left. It
-
didn't change his mind that God had his back. Not
-
just in something, but he knew that God had it
-
in all things. So Jesus knew when he got in,
-
there was no out. I had to continue this thing
-
and take it all the way through. So the moment
-
you stepped up to the altar, wherever the altar was,
-
you stepped in. And if you didn't really have a
-
real heart to step in, you shouldn't have did it.
-
When you came up in front of a congregation of
-
a ministry during altar time and gave your life to
-
the Lord, you stepped in.
-
And then left church and stepped out. Because you never
-
stepped in.
-
You was emotional. You were performing for the people. Because
-
you know they applaud you when you come up here
-
to get saved.
-
You were acting. Because you know how you're going to
-
find out you was acting?
-
Life going to show it to you when you leave
-
this comfortable place called the temple of God. Life out
-
there going to show you Amen, somebody. So Jesus knew
-
when he got in there was no out. He had
-
to complete his mission no matter what.
-
Somebody say no matter what. Somebody say. no matter what.
-
The world threw at him everything they knew and he
-
did not change from the mission that he was put on.
-
So if you have that same tenacity that Jesus had
-
And if you got that same Jesus that operated that
-
way in you, you too are in and not out.
-
So what say ye today?
-
This day, this day, September the 20th of 2026, what
-
say ye?
-
To yourself and to the Lord.
-
Are you in or are you out? Amen?
-
Give God a hand for that.
-
You see, because our words have to match our actions. Amen?
-
And I'm just talking a little bit until Deke get
-
where he got to go. Our words dictate everything. Supposed
-
to dictate our actions. I'm a Christian.
-
I've spoken it out of my mouth.
-
I'm a Christian. So what should I be doing since
-
I say I'm a Christian?
-
Living holy.
-
Keeping the commandments of God. Obeying God's commandments. Because why?
-
I said it. I don't care what people say. I
-
said I'm a Christian. Now when people say it, two
-
things could be going on. But the fact of the
-
matter is this. When they do say it, is it true?
-
Is it true when they do say it? Only you
-
have to know. You have to examine yourself, amen? You
-
have to examine yourself. You know how you live. You
-
don't impress me when you come here, and I don't
-
impress you when I come here. And you can't impress God,
-
so the only person you can impress is you.
-
Amen, somebody. Let us stand.
