  1. So today's sermon is the fourth and last in our series called Gospel Training.

  2. ! Today I'm going to be talking to you about Gospel Past, Present, and Future.

  3. That's where I'm getting this Gospel Past, Present, and Future.

  4. You've been saved from the penalty of sin.

  5. You're being saved from the power of sin.

  6. And you will be saved from the presence of sin.

  7. Three Ps to help you remember it, okay?

  8. Been saved from the penalty of sin, being saved from the power of sin,

  9. will be saved from the presence of sin.

  10. Got it?

  11. Okay.

  12. John Stott has argued that actually when Paul, in Acts 24-25,

  13. reasoned with Governor Felix about righteousness and self-control in the coming judgment,

  14. he was pointing out the three tenses of salvation,

  15. which is an interesting thought if you think about it and look at it.

  16. Righteousness, speaking of been saved, self-control, being saved,

  17. coming judgment, will be saved.

  18. You can also think of that in Exodus when it talks about the Israelites.

  19. Israelites, they were saved from Egypt, okay?

  20. They were delivered out of Egypt.

  21. And then after they got out of Egypt, they were still being saved from Egypt, okay?

  22. And then eventually they would be completely saved from Egypt, right?

  23. So similar kind of thought structure that goes there.

  24. So this is kind of even a theme that you see throughout Scripture.

  25. So we're going to look at all three of these specifically.

  26. We'll start with the first one, past salvation.

  27. So the other way you can look at these is been saved, justification,

  28. being saved, sanctification, will be saved, glorification.

  29. So the first one, past salvation, justification,

  30. we've been saved from the penalty of sin.

  31. So Ephesians 2 verse 3 says that we were by nature children of wrath.

    Ephesians 2:3

  32. So from the beginning, holiness, God's holiness is bad news for the sinner, okay?

  33. God's holiness is bad news for the sinner.

  34. And that includes just being born because we were by nature children of wrath.

  35. He goes on in verse 4, it says,

  36. But God, being rich in mercy because of the great love with which he loved us,

  37. even when we were dead in our trespasses,

  38. made us alive together with Christ.

  39. By grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him

  40. in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

  41. so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches

  42. of his grace and kindness towards us in Christ Jesus.

  43. For by grace you have been saved through faith.

  44. This is not your own doing.

  45. It is a gift of God, not as a result of works,

  46. so that no one may boast, okay?

  47. So there you have it, the quintessential verse about we've been saved.

  48. We've been saved from the penalty of sin.

  49. God, while we were dead in our sins, while we were objects of wrath by nature,

  50. God came to us and saved us and made us alive together with Christ.

  51. We were dead, he made us alive.

  52. We were blind and now we see.

  53. Just like amazing grace things, right?

  54. You have been saved.

  55. What is justification?

  56. Justification is basically right legal standing.

  57. Someone would say it's just as if you had not sinned.

  58. Sin.

  59. Justification.

  60. Just as if you had not sinned.

  61. We all know we have sinned.

  62. We all know that we were by nature objects of wrath.

  63. Justification makes it as if you had not sinned.

  64. Romans 3, 20 to 26 says,

  65. For by works of the law, no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

  66. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it.

  67. The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.

  68. For there is no distinction.

  69. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift.

  70. Through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood to be received by faith.

  71. This was to show God's righteousness because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

  72. It was to show his righteousness at the present time so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

  73. This is such an awesome truth that God is not just just, but the justifier.

  74. See, if we were sinners and all we know of God is that he's just, that's really bad news.

  75. If a holy God is just and we are sinners, that's bad news.

  76. It's not looking good for us.

  77. Because we then have the wrath of God justly upon us.

  78. By nature, objects of wrath because he's a holy God.

  79. But if God is not just just, but he's also the justifier, now we're talking.

  80. He's not just just, but also the justifier.

  81. So God's justice had to be met, but it was met in his own son.

  82. Jesus became the justifier of us by taking the punishment that was due us on himself and him being the perfect holy sacrifice.

  83. He alone could bear the weight of that punishment.

  84. He alone could satisfy the wrath of God because he alone is holy.

  85. He alone is perfect.

  86. He alone was the perfect atoning sacrifice.

  87. And so not only is God just, but he's the justifier.

  88. So he was able to satisfy his justice by also, and then become the justifier as well.

  89. That is an amazing, amazing charity that he gives to us.

  90. That is amazing grace, truly.

  91. Okay?

  92. And then his justification has implications.

  93. Romans 5, starting in verse 1 says,

  94. What's that all about?

  95. Since we've been justified, we have peace with God.

  96. Do you have peace with God?

  97. You who profess Christ, do you have peace with God?

  98. Is peace your natural flow?

  99. Is peace your natural way of living?

  100. If you truly are justified, and by the way, there's no such thing as a, well, I'm kind of justified.

  101. There is no partial justification.

  102. That's kind of an oxymoron, right?

  103. Justification actually means justification.

  104. I know we live in an age where everybody gets to redefine what words mean, but you can't do that.

  105. Okay?

  106. Words mean what they mean for a reason.

  107. And justification means that you are made right.

  108. You are made just.

  109. And if you're made right, and if you're made just, that is why you have peace with God.

  110. Because there's nothing that stands in between you anymore.

  111. What stood between you was that you weren't right.

  112. But the justifier made you right.

  113. The justifier made you right.

  114. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  115. When you come before him, after a bad day, after a long week, when you come before him and you sing songs on a Sunday morning and worship to him,

  116. what causes you to have peace with him?

  117. And what causes you to not have peace with him?

  118. What is your peace?

  119. Or rather, who is your peace?

  120. Jesus is your peace.

  121. Jesus is the one who stands between you and God.

  122. And when he looks on you, he sees his son.

  123. He is the just God and the justifier.

  124. He makes you right.

  125. And nothing stands between you and him.

  126. So often, we have these, as believers, we have pockets of unbelief.

  127. You might even call them little pockets of atheism.

  128. Right?

  129. But we profess to be Christians and we profess to know Christ.

  130. And yet when we come to him, we feel, oh, I feel like I'm not justified.

  131. Well, who ever said anything about your feelings?

  132. Do your feelings make you any less just?

  133. Do your feelings make you any less right?

  134. Do your feelings make Jesus' sacrifice any less atoning?

  135. Do your feelings make God any less the justifier?

  136. Sometimes we have these feelings towards justice that cause us not to believe in his justification.

  137. Well, God isn't just just.

  138. He's also the justifier.

  139. And through Christ, he has made you right.

  140. Therefore, you have peace with God.

  141. Through him, we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand.

  142. Where is your standing?

  143. What are you standing in?

  144. So often we believe more in the power of our sin to disqualify us than the power of God's grace to make us right and just.

  145. Is your sin really that powerful?

  146. That it would be more powerful than the justifying power of God in Christ Jesus making ransom for you to be saved?

  147. Through him, we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand.

  148. The reason I have peace with God is because I stand in his grace.

  149. How often?

  150. If I've been made just all the time, I'm always standing in this grace.

  151. It's like that old Switchfoot song where he says, maybe forgiveness is right where you fell.

  152. Right?

  153. We think every time we sin, it's like we go in and out of justification.

  154. No.

  155. Justification is a status that is given to you by God through Christ.

  156. There's grace in which we stand.

  157. We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

  158. Verse 6.

  159. While we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

  160. One will scarcely die for a righteous person, though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die.

  161. But God shows his love for us.

  162. And that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  163. It's like Luke 15, right?

  164. While we are a long way off, he ran to him.

  165. Okay?

  166. Since therefore we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

  167. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

  168. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

  169. See, we've been saved from the penalty of sin.

  170. We stand in grace.

  171. We've been made right.

  172. We've been justified.

  173. That's why in Romans 8.33, he says,

  174. Who shall bring a charge against God's elect?

  175. It is God who justifies.

  176. You're going to bring a charge against me?

  177. You're going to say, Oh, no, no, no.

  178. He's not clean.

  179. He's not righteous.

  180. He's not justified.

  181. Says who?

  182. You dare make a charge against the one that God justified?

  183. How dare you?

  184. It's God who justifies.

  185. You don't get to justify or unjustify somebody.

  186. That's not how this works.

  187. Only God can do this.

  188. And there's a big word in the Bible called propitiation.

  189. I read it in the verse before in Romans 3.

  190. It says, propitiation just means satisfaction of God's wrath.

  191. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified by his grace as a gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

  192. whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood to be received by faith.

  193. Jesus was the propitiation for us, meaning the wrath of God was satisfied in Christ Jesus.

  194. Some Christians live as if the wrath of God was not satisfied.

  195. How dare we even banish the thought?

  196. Banish the thought that the blood of Jesus was not enough to cleanse.

  197. Banish the thought to think that God's sacrifice was not enough.

  198. It was sufficient.

  199. When Jesus said on the cross, it is finished, what do you think he meant?

  200. Did he mean, well, it's kind of finished.

  201. It's mostly finished.

  202. I think it's finished.

  203. No, it's finished.

  204. The work was complete.

  205. The wrath of God was satisfied.

  206. The propitiation was met.

  207. When you think of wrath being upon you, you have to think, no, no, no.

  208. In Christ Jesus, the wrath has been satisfied.

  209. 1 John 4.10 says,

  210. And this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

  211. The satisfaction of the wrath of God for our sins.

  212. So that's satisfaction of the wrath of God, which then brings the next thing.

  213. Another big word is, or maybe a word you don't use as much, is expiation, which means the removal of sinner guilt.

  214. Not only did he take away and satisfy the punishment, absorb the wrath, he also removed our sinner guilt.

  215. Some people say, yeah, yeah, I believe God saved me, but I still feel guilty.

  216. I still feel dirty.

  217. No, no, no, no, no.

  218. That's unjust.

  219. That's unjust.

  220. Psalm 103, verse 12.

    Psalms 103:12

  221. As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

  222. Have you ever measured how far the east is from the west?

  223. Try it sometime.

  224. That's how far your sin is from you.

  225. When it comes to justification, it's gone.

  226. It's gone.

  227. Your guilt has been removed.

  228. 1 John 1, verse 9.

    1 John 1:9

  229. I love this verse so much.

  230. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  231. Now, just use that word just again.

  232. Did you hear that?

  233. But when you think of just, what do you think of?

  234. A lot of times we think of just, we think, well, if God is just, then that's why I shouldn't feel like I can come to God.

  235. Because I sin.

  236. If God is just, then that means there's something in between us.

  237. My sin is in between us.

  238. Hold on.

  239. 1 John 1, verse 9.

    1 John 1:9

  240. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us.

  241. Don't stop there.

  242. And cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  243. So from this verse, you could deduce that it is actually unjust for God not to cleanse you.

  244. Did you hear me on that?

  245. If you were still dirty, that would not be justice.

  246. If you believe so many people think they're dirty because God is just, it's the wrong view of his justice.

  247. You have a distorted, perverted view of God's justice.

  248. If you think that God is pushing you away because of your sin in Christ Jesus.

  249. The real belief about justice is that if you confess your sins, if you're in Christ, he not only forgives you your sins, but he cleanses you from your sins.

  250. This is just.

  251. This is just.

  252. It would be unjust for him not to forgive you and to cleanse you.

  253. It would be unjust for him to hold against you something that has been already paid for.

  254. It would be unjust.

  255. When was the last time you appealed for that kind of justice?

  256. When was the last time you went to the Lord in your sin and appealed for God's justice to cleanse you?

  257. You ever think of that?

  258. You ever appealed for God's justice?

  259. We're typically like, I don't want to remind God of his justice because that's bad news for me.

  260. No!

  261. Not if he's just and the justifier.

  262. That means that Christ is the propitiation and the expiation.

  263. He satisfies the wrath.

  264. He removes the guilt.

  265. And it would only be just for him to cleanse you from your sins and your unrighteousness.

  266. Is that not good news?

  267. That's good news.

  268. 2 Corinthians 5, 18-21 says,

  269. So do you do that?

  270. Are you living consistent with the way God treats you?

  271. God, it says here that God doesn't count your trespasses against you.

  272. Do you count your trespasses against you?

  273. Why?

  274. Why?

  275. The Bible says that God doesn't count your trespasses against you.

  276. Why are you still doing it?

  277. And why aren't you telling the devil what it is written when he tells you and reminds you of your sin?

  278. Why don't you just say, hey, it's written.

  279. God doesn't count my trespasses against me.

  280. You can leave now.

  281. Right?

  282. And he trusted us the message of reconciliation.

  283. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ.

  284. God making his appeal through us.

  285. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

  286. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

  287. Wow.

  288. This is why Romans 8, verse 1 says,

    Romans 8:1

  289. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

  290. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

  291. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

  292. Christian, do you tolerate condemnation in your life?

  293. Why?

  294. Why?

  295. There is no more condemnation for you.

  296. But, but, no, no, no, no.

  297. No buts.

  298. No buts.

  299. Do you believe the gospel or do you, do you not?

  300. If you think that God just kind of cleans you up, he makes you tolerable but not beautiful.

  301. If you think he just, you know, he, he makes it so that, well, I guess he can, he can come in.

  302. No, no, no, no, no.

  303. He washes you clean.

  304. For him not to wash you clean would be unjust.

  305. And now because you are washed clean, because the wrath of God is no longer against you,

  306. because there's no longer any dirt that remains on you,

  307. there is no condemnation for you in Christ Jesus.

  308. No condemnation.

  309. Romans 4, verse 8 says,

    Romans 4:8

  310. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.

  311. Blessed is that man.

  312. And guess what?

  313. That man is every Christian.

  314. Every true believer in Jesus Christ is the one whom the Lord will not count his sin.

  315. So he absorbs the wrath of God.

  316. He takes away the guilt of sin.

  317. And then he doesn't just leave it there.

  318. Then he gives us his righteousness.

  319. Romans 4, 5.

  320. Romans 5, 19.

  321. For as by one man's disobedience the many were made sinners,

  322. so by the one man's obedience, the one man being Christ,

  323. the many will be made righteous.

  324. Do you believe not only that he's absorbed the wrath,

  325. that he has removed your guilt, but that he's given you Christ's righteousness?

  326. So when the Father looks on you, he sees the righteousness of Christ.

  327. He sees the work of Christ.

  328. You say, my work isn't enough.

  329. Absolutely.

  330. You're right.

  331. But whoever said anything about your work,

  332. you're not coming to the Lord on the basis of your work.

  333. You're coming to the Lord on the basis of Christ's work.

  334. Philippians 3, 8-9.

  335. This is what Paul said.

  336. For his sake I've suffered the loss of all things,

  337. and I count them as rubbish,

  338. in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him,

  339. not having a righteousness of my own.

  340. It comes from the law.

  341. But that which comes through faith in Christ,

  342. the righteousness from God,

  343. that depends on faith.

  344. Some of us think,

  345. oh, we just need to be saved from our unrighteousness.

  346. No, no, no.

  347. We have to be saved from unrighteousness and self-righteousness,

  348. and we are given the righteousness of Christ.

  349. That is, on Christ the solid rock I stand,

  350. all other ground is sinking sand.

  351. I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

  352. but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

  353. That's trusting in the righteousness of Christ.

  354. Okay?

  355. So that's gospel past.

  356. That's good news.

  357. Some people only stick there.

  358. They're like,

  359. yeah, that's my testimony, man.

  360. I want to tell my testimony.

  361. They have a testimony of how God saved them.

  362. They have no testimony of how God's saving them,

  363. and they certainly don't have a testimony

  364. of what he's going to do in the future.

  365. Or,

  366. some people,

  367. they believe in gospel past,

  368. gospel future,

  369. but they have no,

  370. they have no grid for gospel present.

  371. They say,

  372. well, God saved me,

  373. and one day he's returning to save me,

  374. but in the meantime,

  375. I just got to grit my teeth

  376. and my own strength and my own power

  377. and try to stay free from sin.

  378. Well, that sounds like good news.

  379. Not really.

  380. Right?

  381. But this is how,

  382. so many Christians believe this.

  383. They think,

  384. yes, God saved me.

  385. One day he will come

  386. and he'll rescue us from this earth

  387. and all the sin

  388. and make all things new.

  389. But in between, man,

  390. I'm on my own.

  391. I gotta,

  392. I gotta grit my teeth

  393. and just push through.

  394. No.

  395. No.

  396. Let's look at gospel present.

  397. Gospel present,

  398. present salvation,

  399. is sanctification.

  400. It's being saved

  401. from the power of sin.

  402. 1 Corinthians 1.18

  403. says,

  404. The word of the cross

  405. is folly to those

  406. who are perishing,

  407. but to us who are being saved,

  408. it is the power of God.

  409. It is the power of God.

  410. See, the cross

  411. is not just saving us

  412. from the penalty of sin,

  413. it's saving us

  414. from the power of sin.

  415. Do you believe that?

  416. Do you believe in a gospel

  417. that not just saves you

  418. from the penalty,

  419. but saves you from the power?

  420. 1 Corinthians 15.1-2

  421. says,

  422. I remind you, brothers,

  423. of the gospel I preached to you,

  424. which you received

  425. and which you stand,

  426. and by which you are being saved.

  427. Present.

  428. Being saved.

  429. If you hold fast

  430. to the word I preached to you,

  431. unless you believed in vain.

  432. Okay?

  433. The same power

  434. that saved you

  435. from the wrath of God

  436. and the penalty of sin

  437. is the same power

  438. that saves you

  439. from the power of sin.

  440. Do you believe that?

  441. The same way you received it

  442. initially

  443. when you first became a Christian

  444. is the same way

  445. we receive it

  446. in everyday life.

  447. You are tempted with sin,

  448. it's threatening to overtake you,

  449. it's threatening to rule over you,

  450. and you believe

  451. that you can't do it,

  452. you can't resist it,

  453. you have no power

  454. in and of yourself

  455. to resist that temptation,

  456. but you believe

  457. that the gospel

  458. is the power of God

  459. for salvation

  460. of all who believe,

  461. Romans 1.16,

  462. you believe that in that moment

  463. that God's salvation

  464. and power is available

  465. to you to be saved,

  466. not just from the penalty

  467. like you did before

  468. when you first came to Christ,

  469. but that his power

  470. is available to save you

  471. from the power of sin

  472. so that sin

  473. will no longer reign over you.

  474. This is good news.

  475. Right?

  476. Hebrews 10.14 says,

  477. This is called sanctification,

  478. right?

  479. Progressive growth

  480. and holiness.

  481. 1 Thessalonians 5.23

  482. It says,

  483. Now may the God of peace

  484. himself sanctify you

  485. completely,

  486. and may your whole spirit

  487. and soul and body

  488. be kept blameless

  489. at the coming

  490. of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  491. Okay?

  492. This is God working

  493. in you his will,

  494. this is God removing

  495. the power of sin

  496. from your life,

  497. sanctifying you

  498. day in and day out,

  499. setting you free.

  500. 1 Thessalonians 4.3-5

  501. says,

  502. This is the will of God,

  503. your sanctification,

  504. that you abstain

  505. from sexual morality,

  506. that each one of you

  507. know how to control

  508. his own body

  509. in holiness and honor,

  510. not in the passion of lust

  511. like the Gentiles

  512. who don't know God.

  513. Do you believe

  514. that God's power

  515. is available for you

  516. even to overcome

  517. and conquer sexual morality?

  518. I know for some reason

  519. we have glorified

  520. and worshipped

  521. and lifted up

  522. the power of sexual morality

  523. nowadays

  524. to be a sin

  525. that cannot be overcome

  526. by the power of God.

  527. What a travesty.

  528. What a slap in the face

  529. of the gospel.

  530. Is not God mighty

  531. to save

  532. even from sexual

  533. or immorality?

  534. I mean,

  535. what do you believe?

  536. He can save you

  537. from all their sins

  538. but that sin?

  539. It's like God

  540. is this tiny little God

  541. but the God of sexual morality

  542. is the God that reigns?

  543. No,

  544. Jesus Christ

  545. is the God that reigns.

  546. He died so that

  547. the power of God

  548. will be given to you

  549. so that you could live

  550. in holiness and honor.

  551. That's the truth.

  552. Those are the facts.

  553. We have power over sin.

  554. Okay?

  555. This is why Romans 6 says,

  556. Let not sin,

  557. therefore reign in your

  558. moral body

  559. to make you obey

  560. its passions.

  561. Do not present your members

  562. to sin as instruments

  563. for unrighteousness

  564. but present yourselves

  565. to God as those

  566. who have been brought

  567. from death to life

  568. and your members to God

  569. as instruments

  570. for righteousness

  571. for sin will have

  572. no dominion over you.

  573. Do you believe that?

  574. Do you believe that?

  575. That that's a promise of God

  576. that in the gospel

  577. sin shall have

  578. no dominion over you.

  579. That means it doesn't

  580. rule over you.

  581. That your inheritance

  582. isn't to just be someone

  583. who's saved from

  584. the penalty of sin

  585. but sin rules over you

  586. until Jesus returns.

  587. No.

  588. Sin's penalty

  589. has no power of you.

  590. Sin's power

  591. has no power of you.

  592. And one day

  593. its presence

  594. won't be there either.

  595. It will remove

  596. the presence of it

  597. altogether.

  598. That's the good news.

  599. That's the full gospel.

  600. No dominion.

  601. 2 Corinthians 2.14

  602. says thanks be to God

  603. whom Christ Jesus

  604. leads us

  605. in triumphal procession

  606. and through us

  607. spreads the fragrance

  608. of the knowledge

  609. from everywhere.

  610. This is how Paul

  611. describes the Christian life.

  612. Let me ask you

  613. believer

  614. fellow believers

  615. would you describe

  616. your Christianity

  617. as a triumphal procession?

  618. Would you describe it as that?

  619. The Bible does.

  620. The Bible describes

  621. your Christianity

  622. my Christianity

  623. as a triumphal

  624. procession.

  625. Again

  626. if you believe

  627. a gospel

  628. where it's all on you

  629. until Jesus returns

  630. then this is foreign to you.

  631. You read this

  632. and say what?

  633. What is that?

  634. If you believe

  635. that the gospel

  636. is for yesterday

  637. today

  638. and forever

  639. if you believe

  640. that it's past

  641. present and future

  642. if you believe

  643. it's not just the penalty

  644. but it's also the power

  645. and it will be the presence

  646. if you believe that

  647. and you read

  648. triumphal procession

  649. you're like yes

  650. absolutely

  651. that's my inheritance

  652. that's what I live in

  653. that's the good news

  654. triumphal procession

  655. we don't use that word

  656. triumphal much anymore

  657. we should

  658. that's what we get

  659. in the gospel

  660. he didn't just save you

  661. from the penalty of sin

  662. and leave you alone

  663. he saved you

  664. from the penalty of sin

  665. and then said

  666. I'm now giving you power

  667. for triumphal procession

  668. triumphal procession

  669. triumphal procession

  670. some of us need to

  671. notify our face

  672. about that

  673. like hey

  674. hello

  675. we have been given

  676. in the gospel

  677. the power

  678. to triumph over sin

  679. to triumph over sin

  680. not in our strength

  681. not in our power

  682. in the power of Christ

  683. this is why Romans 5.17

  684. uses this great term

  685. I love this term

  686. reigning in life

  687. are you reigning in life?

  688. are you reigning in life?

  689. that's your inheritance

  690. the free gift of righteousness

  691. causes you to reign in life

  692. through the one man

  693. Christ Jesus

  694. it's the difference

  695. between overcoming

  696. and coming under

  697. right

  698. the Bible talks a lot

  699. about those who will overcome

  700. they'll inherit

  701. salvation right

  702. are you an overcomer

  703. or a comer under?

  704. do you come under

  705. the power of sin

  706. or do you come over it?

  707. those who believe

  708. in the power of the gospel

  709. are coming over

  710. the power of their sin

  711. not coming underneath

  712. all their sexual temptations

  713. all their temptations

  714. towards depression

  715. towards selfishness

  716. towards anxiety

  717. okay

  718. no we're not coming

  719. under those things

  720. we're coming over

  721. those things

  722. because God's power

  723. in the gospel

  724. is enough to triumph over them

  725. Romans 16.25 says

  726. now to him who is able

  727. to strengthen you

  728. according to my gospel

  729. do you believe in a gospel

  730. that strengthens you

  731. in the present?

  732. I love Jude 24

  733. see a lot of people

  734. they have this fear

  735. of falling away

  736. I just want to say

  737. confidently

  738. I do not have a fear

  739. of falling away

  740. I don't have any fear

  741. but you say

  742. well you should

  743. because the Bible talks

  744. about people falling away

  745. it does

  746. it does

  747. but I'm not afraid of it

  748. you know why?

  749. Jude 24

  750. Jude 24

  751. now to him

  752. who is able

  753. to keep you

  754. from stumbling

  755. another version says

  756. from falling

  757. to him who is able

  758. to keep you from stumbling

  759. and to present you

  760. blameless before the presence

  761. of his glory

  762. with great joy

  763. that's why I'm not

  764. afraid of falling

  765. I'm not putting my hope

  766. in myself

  767. to keep me from falling

  768. I'm putting my hope

  769. in God

  770. to keep me blameless

  771. until the day

  772. that Christ Jesus returns

  773. that's where my hope is

  774. I don't fear falling

  775. I'm just pressing

  776. into trust

  777. God you didn't

  778. I didn't bring myself

  779. I'm not going to keep myself

  780. and I'm not ultimately

  781. going to save myself

  782. you are

  783. I'm trusting in you

  784. to him who is able

  785. to him

  786. who is able

  787. to keep you from falling

  788. to keep you from stumbling

  789. you believe in that God?

  790. do you act like it?

  791. do you live like it?

  792. do you sing like it?

  793. this is the gospel

  794. now in that

  795. some people confuse

  796. justification

  797. and sanctification

  798. okay

  799. they think

  800. well

  801. when I sin

  802. I lose my justification

  803. so I need to get

  804. re-justified

  805. by feeling bad

  806. for long enough

  807. or

  808. you know

  809. doing penance

  810. some form of penance

  811. and if I do that

  812. then maybe

  813. so I go back and forth

  814. from sanctification

  815. to justification

  816. and it's just like

  817. they confuse it

  818. they think every time

  819. they sin

  820. they lose their justification

  821. no when you sin

  822. your justification

  823. isn't affected

  824. this is

  825. this is where you need

  826. sanctification

  827. the penalty is still gone

  828. you're still right

  829. before the Lord

  830. because of that

  831. now let his

  832. the justification

  833. feel your sanctification

  834. so that you go

  835. and sin no more

  836. that you say no to sin

  837. Martin Lord Jones

  838. says there's no

  839. going back and forth

  840. from being justified

  841. to not being justified

  842. and I think of

  843. no greater story

  844. than this

  845. than the story

  846. of David

  847. and the city

  848. of Nob

  849. you guys know

  850. this story at all

  851. it's a great story

  852. okay

  853. it's a great story

  854. one of the cool

  855. things about David

  856. is if you ever

  857. read the life

  858. of David

  859. unlike any other

  860. person in the Bible

  861. when you read

  862. the life of David

  863. number one

  864. you got two

  865. versions of it

  866. because you have

  867. two accounts

  868. of a lot of it

  869. but then

  870. you have a third

  871. insight into it

  872. and then you have

  873. the book of Psalms

  874. and you have

  875. all these Psalms

  876. that he wrote

  877. while he was

  878. doing certain things

  879. so you're thinking

  880. well I wonder

  881. what David was thinking

  882. when this

  883. and this

  884. and this happened

  885. there's probably

  886. a Psalm about it

  887. you look at the Psalm

  888. and you're like

  889. I know what he was thinking

  890. what in the world

  891. was he thinking that for

  892. you know

  893. and then you can

  894. you start to understand

  895. some things

  896. so let's do that

  897. let's do that

  898. right

  899. 1 Samuel 21

  900. starting verse 1

  901. David comes to Nob

  902. comes to him

  903. a him elect a priest

  904. okay

  905. now give you

  906. a little context here

  907. he's running

  908. from Saul

  909. Saul's trying

  910. to kill him

  911. okay

  912. that's what's

  913. happening right now

  914. Saul decided

  915. that he's not

  916. a fan of David

  917. he's trying to

  918. kill him

  919. David goes

  920. into exile

  921. and when he

  922. goes into exile

  923. he's got to get

  924. he's got to get

  925. some stuff

  926. so he goes

  927. to Himalek

  928. in Nob

  929. the city

  930. of the priests

  931. verse 2

  932. says

  933. David said

  934. to Himalek

  935. the priest

  936. listen to what

  937. he says

  938. the king

  939. has charged

  940. me

  941. with a matter

  942. and said

  943. to me

  944. let no one

  945. know anything

  946. on the matter

  947. about which

  948. I send you

  949. and with which

  950. I have charged

  951. you

  952. I have made

  953. an appointment

  954. with the young

  955. men for such

  956. and such a place

  957. guess what

  958. that's not true

  959. that's a lie

  960. Saul didn't send

  961. him

  962. Saul didn't send

  963. him on this

  964. mission

  965. Saul's trying

  966. to kill him

  967. David went

  968. to the priest

  969. and lied

  970. to the priest

  971. this is a

  972. this is a flat

  973. out lie

  974. this did not

  975. happen

  976. so he goes

  977. to the priest

  978. and then

  979. so the priest

  980. believes David

  981. he has no reason

  982. not to believe David

  983. and David says

  984. what do you got

  985. on hand

  986. give me five

  987. loaves of bread

  988. or whatever's here

  989. and the priest

  990. says

  991. I have no

  992. common bread

  993. on hand

  994. but I have

  995. holy bread

  996. and if the young

  997. men have kept

  998. themselves from

  999. women

  1000. and David said

  1001. the priest

  1002. truly women

  1003. have been

  1004. kept from

  1005. us always

  1006. when I go

  1007. on an expedition

  1008. the vessels

  1009. of the young

  1010. men are holy

  1011. and so the

  1012. priest gives

  1013. them holy bread

  1014. and

  1015. now verse

  1016. seven

  1017. a certain

  1018. man of the

  1019. servants of

  1020. Saul was

  1021. there that

  1022. day

  1023. detained

  1024. before the

  1025. Lord

  1026. his name

  1027. was

  1028. Doeg

  1029. the

  1030. Edomite

  1031. the chief

  1032. of Saul's

  1033. herdsmen

  1034. then David

  1035. said to

  1036. Himalek

  1037. then have you

  1038. not a spear

  1039. or a sword

  1040. at hand

  1041. for I have

  1042. brought neither

  1043. my sword

  1044. nor my weapons

  1045. with me

  1046. because the

  1047. king's business

  1048. required haste

  1049. and the priest

  1050. said the sword

  1051. of Goliath

  1052. the Philistine

  1053. when he struck

  1054. down the valley

  1055. of Elah

  1056. behold it is

  1057. wrapped in the

  1058. cloth behind

  1059. the ephod

  1060. if you will

  1061. take that

  1062. take it

  1063. for there is

  1064. none like

  1065. it

  1066. for there is

  1067. none but

  1068. that here

  1069. and David

  1070. said there is

  1071. none like

  1072. it

  1073. give it

  1074. to me

  1075. so he

  1076. gives him

  1077. bread

  1078. gives him

  1079. the sword

  1080. provides for

  1081. David

  1082. because David

  1083. lied to him

  1084. what do you

  1085. think Saul's

  1086. going to find

  1087. it

  1088. well let's

  1089. look

  1090. it's 1 Samuel

  1091. 22

  1092. Saul is

  1093. asking all the

  1094. men

  1095. hey where's

  1096. David

  1097. he's still

  1098. looking to

  1099. try and

  1100. kill him

  1101. and Doeg

  1102. the Edomite

  1103. answers

  1104. remember the

  1105. guy who was

  1106. there

  1107. who saw

  1108. David

  1109. go to

  1110. Himalak

  1111. Doeg

  1112. the Edomite

  1113. verse 9

  1114. of 1 Samuel

  1115. 22

  1116. who stood

  1117. by the

  1118. servants of

  1119. Saul

  1120. he said

  1121. I saw

  1122. the son

  1123. of Jesse

  1124. come in

  1125. Nab

  1126. to Ahimelech

  1127. the son

  1128. of Ahithub

  1129. and he inquired

  1130. of the Lord

  1131. for him

  1132. and gave him

  1133. provisions

  1134. and gave him

  1135. the sword

  1136. of Goliath

  1137. the Philistine

  1138. then the king

  1139. sent to summon

  1140. Ahimelech

  1141. the priest

  1142. the son

  1143. of Ahithub

  1144. and all

  1145. his father's

  1146. house

  1147. the priests

  1148. were at

  1149. Nab

  1150. and all

  1151. of them

  1152. came to

  1153. the king

  1154. and Saul

  1155. said

  1156. here now

  1157. son of

  1158. Ahithub

  1159. and he answered

  1160. here I am

  1161. Lord

  1162. you and

  1163. the son

  1164. of Jesse

  1165. and that

  1166. you have

  1167. given him

  1168. bread

  1169. and a sword

  1170. and inquired

  1171. of God

  1172. for him

  1173. so that

  1174. he has

  1175. risen

  1176. against me

  1177. to lie

  1178. and wait

  1179. as at

  1180. this day

  1181. and then

  1182. Ahimelech

  1183. answers

  1184. as you

  1185. would think

  1186. he would

  1187. answer

  1188. right

  1189. he says

  1190. who among

  1191. all your

  1192. servants

  1193. is so

  1194. faithful

  1195. as David

  1196. who is

  1197. the king's

  1198. son-in-law

  1199. and captain

  1200. over your

  1201. bodyguard

  1202. and out

  1203. into your

  1204. house

  1205. is today

  1206. the first

  1207. time

  1208. that I've

  1209. inquired

  1210. of God

  1211. for him

  1212. no

  1213. let the

  1214. king

  1215. impute

  1216. anything

  1217. to his

  1218. servant

  1219. or to

  1220. all the

  1221. house

  1222. of my

  1223. father

  1224. for your

  1225. servant

  1226. has known

  1227. nothing

  1228. of all

  1229. this

  1230. much

  1231. or little

  1232. and the

  1233. king

  1234. said

  1235. you shall

  1236. surely

  1237. die

  1238. Ahimelech

  1239. you and

  1240. all your

  1241. father's

  1242. house

  1243. and the

  1244. king

  1245. turned

  1246. and told

  1247. his

  1248. servants

  1249. to kill

  1250. him

  1251. they said

  1252. no

  1253. we're

  1254. not

  1255. going

  1256. to do

  1257. it

  1258. right

  1259. they

  1260. wouldn't

  1261. put their

  1262. hand

  1263. against

  1264. the

  1265. priests

  1266. of the

  1267. Lord

  1268. right

  1269. but

  1270. you know

  1271. Doag

  1272. is perfectly

  1273. willing to

  1274. do it

  1275. right

  1276. verse 18

  1277. the king

  1278. said

  1279. Doag

  1280. you turn

  1281. and he

  1282. killed

  1283. on that

  1284. day

  1285. 85

  1286. persons

  1287. who wore

  1288. the

  1289. linen

  1290. ephod

  1291. and

  1292. now

  1293. the

  1294. city

  1295. of the

  1296. priest

  1297. he put

  1298. to the

  1299. sword

  1300. both

  1301. man

  1302. and woman

  1303. child

  1304. and infant

  1305. ox

  1306. donkey

  1307. sheep

  1308. he put

  1309. to the

  1310. sword

  1311. one of

  1312. the sons

  1313. of Ahimelech

  1314. the son

  1315. of Ahithub

  1316. named

  1317. Abiathar

  1318. escaped

  1319. and fled

  1320. after David

  1321. and Abiathar

  1322. told David

  1323. that Saul

  1324. had killed

  1325. the priest

  1326. of the

  1327. Lord

  1328. and David

  1329. said to

  1330. Abiathar

  1331. I knew

  1332. on that

  1333. day

  1334. when Doag

  1335. the Edomite

  1336. was there

  1337. that he

  1338. would surely

  1339. David says

  1340. I have

  1341. occasioned

  1342. the death

  1343. of all

  1344. the persons

  1345. of your

  1346. father's

  1347. house

  1348. David knew

  1349. it was his

  1350. fault

  1351. he knew

  1352. he lied

  1353. and who

  1354. died

  1355. he lied

  1356. in all

  1357. 85

  1358. priests

  1359. the city

  1360. of the

  1361. priests

  1362. imagine if

  1363. there was

  1364. a city

  1365. like

  1366. imagine if

  1367. there was

  1368. a nearby

  1369. city

  1370. near Kansas

  1371. city

  1372. where all

  1373. the pastors

  1374. lived

  1375. and you

  1376. told a lie

  1377. and all

  1378. the pastors

  1379. got killed

  1380. and their

  1381. wives

  1382. and the

  1383. children

  1384. and all

  1385. the animals

  1386. can you

  1387. imagine that

  1388. now you

  1389. guys have

  1390. probably had

  1391. bad days

  1392. when you've

  1393. sinned

  1394. I don't

  1395. know if

  1396. you've ever

  1397. had a bad

  1398. day like

  1399. this right

  1400. you ever

  1401. told a sin

  1402. where 85

  1403. priests died

  1404. and all

  1405. their wives

  1406. and all

  1407. the kids

  1408. and all

  1409. the animals

  1410. because of

  1411. a lie

  1412. you told

  1413. probably not

  1414. have you

  1415. ever sinned

  1416. before and

  1417. felt really

  1418. bad and

  1419. felt condemned

  1420. yes I

  1421. have many

  1422. times I

  1423. don't think

  1424. I've ever

  1425. done anything

  1426. as consequential

  1427. as this

  1428. so I'm

  1429. thinking okay

  1430. if there's a

  1431. psalm about

  1432. this

  1433. surely

  1434. David's

  1435. like I'm

  1436. an idiot

  1437. I'm stupid

  1438. I'm scum

  1439. I'm a worm

  1440. what have I

  1441. done

  1442. I'm a horrible

  1443. person

  1444. this is what

  1445. you would think

  1446. he would say

  1447. right

  1448. well let's

  1449. take a look

  1450. Psalm 52

  1451. now some of

  1452. these psalms

  1453. they say at

  1454. the beginning

  1455. what was going

  1456. on right

  1457. beginning Psalm 52

  1458. says

  1459. to the choir

  1460. to the choir

  1461. master

  1462. a master

  1463. of David

  1464. when Doeg

  1465. the Edomite

  1466. came and

  1467. told Saul

  1468. David has

  1469. come to the

  1470. house of

  1471. Ahimelech

  1472. you following

  1473. me here

  1474. this is the

  1475. psalm

  1476. we could find

  1477. out what he

  1478. was thinking

  1479. during this

  1480. time

  1481. it's like

  1482. okay

  1483. let's check

  1484. it out

  1485. what does

  1486. it say

  1487. there

  1488. let's

  1489. read it

  1490. why do

  1491. you boast

  1492. of evil

  1493. almighty

  1494. man

  1495. he's

  1496. obviously

  1497. talking

  1498. about

  1499. Doeg

  1500. right

  1501. so he

  1502. wrote a

  1503. song

  1504. about

  1505. Doeg

  1506. okay

  1507. why do

  1508. you boast

  1509. of evil

  1510. almighty

  1511. man

  1512. the steadfast

  1513. love of

  1514. God

  1515. endures

  1516. all the

  1517. day

  1518. your tongue

  1519. plots

  1520. destruction

  1521. like a

  1522. sharp razor

  1523. you

  1524. worker

  1525. of

  1526. deceit

  1527. you

  1528. love

  1529. evil

  1530. more

  1531. than

  1532. good

  1533. and

  1534. lying

  1535. more

  1536. than

  1537. speaking

  1538. what

  1539. is

  1540. right

  1541. you

  1542. love

  1543. all

  1544. the

  1545. words

  1546. that

  1547. devour

  1548. oh

  1549. deceitful

  1550. tongue

  1551. but

  1552. God

  1553. will

  1554. break

  1555. you

  1556. down

  1557. forever

  1558. he

  1559. will

  1560. snatch

  1561. and

  1562. tear

  1563. you

  1564. from

  1565. your

  1566. tent

  1567. he

  1568. will

  1569. uproot

  1570. you

  1571. from

  1572. the

  1573. land

  1574. of

  1575. the

  1576. living

  1577. the

  1578. righteous

  1579. will

  1580. see

  1581. and

  1582. fear

  1583. and

  1584. shall

  1585. laugh

  1586. at

  1587. him

  1588. saying

  1589. see

  1590. the

  1591. man

  1592. who

  1593. would

  1594. not

  1595. make

  1596. God

  1597. his

  1598. refuge

  1599. but

  1600. trusted

  1601. in

  1602. the

  1603. abundance

  1604. of

  1605. his

  1606. riches

  1607. and sought

  1608. refuge

  1609. in his

  1610. own

  1611. destruction

  1612. okay

  1613. so so far

  1614. he's

  1615. just

  1616. talking

  1617. about

  1618. Doeg

  1619. right

  1620. he condemns

  1621. himself

  1622. right

  1623. let's

  1624. look at

  1625. this

  1626. because

  1627. that's

  1628. what I

  1629. would

  1630. do

  1631. right

  1632. I

  1633. screwed

  1634. up

  1635. Lord

  1636. I'm

  1637. such

  1638. a bad

  1639. person

  1640. I'm

  1641. an

  1642. evil

  1643. worm

  1644. I'm

  1645. an

  1646. idiot

  1647. this is

  1648. what

  1649. David

  1650. says

  1651. about

  1652. himself

  1653. after all

  1654. that

  1655. happens

  1656. but

  1657. I

  1658. am

  1659. like

  1660. a

  1661. green

  1662. olive

  1663. tree

  1664. in

  1665. the

  1666. house

  1667. of

  1668. God

  1669. I

  1670. trust

  1671. in

  1672. the

  1673. steadfast

  1674. love

  1675. of

  1676. God

  1677. forever

  1678. and

  1679. ever

  1680. I

  1681. will

  1682. thank

  1683. you

  1684. forever

  1685. !

  1686. because

  1687. you

  1688. have

  1689. done

  1690. it

  1691. I

  1692. will

  1693. wait

  1694. for

  1695. your

  1696. name

  1697. for

  1698. it

  1699. is

  1700. good

  1701. in

  1702. the

  1703. presence

  1704. of

  1705. the

  1706. godly

  1707. wait

  1708. what

  1709. how

  1710. dare

  1711. he

  1712. how

  1713. dare

  1714. he

  1715. trust

  1716. in

  1717. the

  1718. righteousness

  1719. of

  1720. another

  1721. how

  1722. dare

  1723. he

  1724. trust

  1725. that

  1726. his

  1727. sin

  1728. does

  1729. not

  1730. remove

  1731. his

  1732. justification

  1733. how

  1734. dare

  1735. he

  1736. trust

  1737. that

  1738. God

  1739. is

  1740. his

  1741. portion

  1742. forever

  1743. that

  1744. God

  1745. is

  1746. a

  1747. steadfast

  1748. lover

  1749. and

  1750. that

  1751. he

  1752. is

  1753. not

  1754. putting

  1755. his

  1756. hope

  1757. in

  1758. what

  1759. he

  1760. does

  1761. and

  1762. he

  1763. is

  1764. not

  1765. putting

  1766. his

  1767. rejection

  1768. in

  1769. what

  1770. he

  1771. didn't

  1772. do

  1773. or

  1774. what

  1775. he

  1776. did

  1777. wrong

  1778. he

  1779. is

  1780. putting

  1781. his

  1782. hope

  1783. in

  1784. the

  1785. God

  1786. who

  1787. saves

  1788. and

  1789. he

  1790. says

  1791. I'm

  1792. an

  1793. olive

  1794. tree

  1795. thriving

  1796. in

  1797. the

  1798. house

  1799. of

  1800. God

  1801. so

  1802. when

  1803. you

  1804. sin

  1805. and

  1806. you

  1807. go

  1808. to

  1809. the

  1810. Lord

  1811. you

  1812. pay

  1813. penance

  1814. do you

  1815. have to

  1816. feel

  1817. bad

  1818. and

  1819. pout

  1820. around

  1821. for

  1822. a

  1823. couple

  1824. weeks

  1825. or

  1826. a

  1827. couple

  1828. days

  1829. or

  1830. you

  1831. feel

  1832. bad

  1833. about

  1834. is

  1835. just

  1836. and

  1837. the

  1838. justifier

  1839. because

  1840. I've

  1841. confessed

  1842. my

  1843. sins

  1844. he

  1845. is

  1846. faithful

  1847. and

  1848. just

  1849. to

  1850. forgive

  1851. me

  1852. and

  1853. cleanse

  1854. me

  1855. from

  1856. all

  1857. unrighteousness

  1858. I'm

  1859. an

  1860. olive

  1861. tree

  1862. thriving

  1863. in

  1864. the

  1865. house

  1866. of

  1867. God

  1868. and

  1869. I

  1870. will

  1871. trust

  1872. in

  1873. the

  1874. steadfast

  1875. love

  1876. of

  1877. God

  1878. forever

  1879. and

  1880. ever

  1881. is

  1882. that

  1883. what

  1884. you

  1885. say

  1886. that's

  1887. what

  1888. David

  1889. said

  1890. why

  1891. don't

  1892. you

  1893. do

  1894. you

  1895. do

  1896. we

  1897. do

  1898. we

  1899. have

  1900. that

  1901. kind

  1902. of

  1903. attitude

  1904. what

  1905. is

  1906. then

  1907. then

  1908. you're

  1909. probably

  1910. some

  1911. self

  1912. righteous

  1921. you

  1922. and

  1923. is

  1924. close

  1938. God

  1939. loves

  1940. you

  1941. for

  1966. for

  1967. God

  1988. wholly

  1989. lean

  1990. on

  1991. Jesus

  1993. what

  2024. amen

  2025. no

  2026. I

  2027. don't

  2028. say

  2029. that

  2030. but

  2031. sometimes

  2032. I

  2033. act

  2034. like

  2035. it

  2036. sometimes

  2037. I

  2038. act

  2039. like

  2040. oh

  2041. God

  2042. you

  2043. should

  2044. accept

  2045. me

  2063. I'm

  2064. not

  2065. on

  2066. the

  2069. or

  2070. sometimes

  2071. I

  2072. pray

  2073. like

  2074. that

  2075. where

  2076. I

  2077. think

  2078. oh

  2079. he's

  2080. not

  2081. going

  2082. to

  2083. answer

  2084. my

  2086. because

  2087. I

  2088. haven't

  2091. I

  2092. should

  2125. when

  2126. you

  2135. in

  2136. the

  2144. in

  2599. we know

  2615. he

  2616. is

  2617. and

  2618. here's

  2619. the

  2620. quintessential

  2621. verse

  2622. on

  2623. this

  2624. I get

  2625. so

  2626. excited

  2627. when I

  2628. read this

  2629. verse

  2630. 1 corinthians

  2631. 15

  2632. 50

  2633. to

  2634. 55

  2635. I

  2636. tell you

  2637. this

  2638. brothers

  2639. flesh

  2640. and blood

  2641. cannot

  2642. inherit

  2643. the kingdom

  2644. of god

  2645. that's

  2646. this

  2647. stuff

  2648. right

  2649. here

  2650. can't

  2651. inherit

  2652. the kingdom

  2653. of god

  2654. nor does

  2655. the perishable

  2656. inherit

  2657. the imperishable

  2658. behold

  2659. I tell you

  2660. a mystery

  2661. we shall

  2662. not all

  2663. sleep

  2664. or in other

  2665. words

  2666. not all

  2667. die

  2668. but we

  2669. shall

  2670. all be

  2671. changed

  2672. in a

  2673. moment

  2674. in the

  2675. twinkling

  2676. of an

  2677. eye

  2678. at the

  2679. last

  2680. trumpet

  2681. for the

  2682. trumpet

  2683. will

  2684. sound

  2685. and the

  2686. dead

  2687. will be

  2688. raised

  2689. imperishable

  2690. and we

  2691. shall be

  2692. changed

  2693. for this

  2694. perishable

  2695. body

  2696. must put

  2697. on the

  2698. imperishable

  2699. and this

  2700. mortal

  2701. body

  2702. must put

  2703. on immortality

  2704. when the

  2705. perishable

  2706. puts on

  2707. the

  2708. imperishable

  2709. and the

  2710. mortal

  2711. puts on

  2712. immortality

  2713. then shall

  2714. come to

  2715. pass

  2716. the saying

  2717. that is

  2718. written

  2719. death

  2720. is

  2721. swallowed

  2722. in

  2723. victory

  2724. oh

  2725. death

  2726. where's

  2727. your

  2728. victory

  2729. oh

  2730. death

  2731. where's

  2732. your

  2733. sting

  2734. it's

  2735. no longer

  2736. there

  2737. because

  2738. the

  2739. presence

  2740. of sin

  2741. will be

  2742. gone

  2743. no more

  2744. temptation

  2745. no more

  2746. fighting

  2747. sin

  2748. you would

  2749. never even

  2750. want to

  2751. sin

  2752. anymore

  2753. you'll

  2754. have a

  2755. new

  2756. body

  2757. it's

  2758. one of

  2759. the

  2760. best

  2761. parts

  2762. about

  2763. the

  2764. gospel

  2765. one day

  2766. god

  2767. returns

  2768. we see him

  2769. and our

  2770. body is

  2771. transformed

  2772. and we

  2773. are saved

  2774. from the

  2775. presence

  2776. of sin

  2777. and we

  2778. can finally

  2779. say

  2780. oh

  2781. death

  2782. where's

  2783. your

  2784. victory

  2785. now

  2786. where's

  2787. your

  2788. victory

  2789. now

  2790. you have

  2791. no control

  2792. over me

  2793. you have

  2794. truly no

  2795. dominion

  2796. you're

  2797. not even

  2798. in there

  2799. anymore

  2800. no more

  2801. indwelling

  2802. sin

  2803. I have

  2804. a new

  2805. resurrection

  2806. body

  2807. this is

  2808. what we're

  2809. waiting for

  2810. and Romans

  2811. 13 11

  2812. says

  2813. salvation

  2814. is nearer

  2815. to us

  2816. now

  2817. than

  2818. when we

  2819. first

  2820. believed

  2821. we're

  2822. waiting

  2823. for it

  2824. we're

  2825. waiting

  2826. for it

  2827. to all

  2828. who've

  2829. been

  2830. wearied

  2831. by sin

  2832. know

  2833. that there's

  2834. a day

  2835. coming

  2836. for those

  2837. in Christ

  2838. Jesus

  2839. where the

  2840. presence

  2841. of sin

  2842. will be

  2843. gone

  2844. and the

  2845. battle

  2846. will be

  2847. over

  2848. Philippians

    Philippians 1:6

  2849. 1 verse

  2850. 6

  2851. I'm sure

  2852. of this

  2853. that he

  2854. who began

  2855. a work

  2856. in you

  2857. will bring

  2858. it to

  2859. completion

  2860. at the

  2861. day of

  2862. Jesus

  2863. Christ

  2864. you believe

  2865. that

  2866. that he

  2867. who began

  2868. a good

  2869. work

  2870. in you

  2871. gospel

  2872. past

  2873. will bring

  2874. it all

  2875. the way

  2876. through

  2877. gospel

  2878. present

  2879. and all

  2880. the way

  2881. through

  2882. the gospel

  2883. future

  2884. but one

  2885. day sin

  2886. is gone

  2887. it's

  2888. gone

  2889. like Luke

  2890. 21 28

  2891. says

  2892. when these

  2893. things

  2894. begin to

  2895. take

  2896. place

  2897. straighten

  2898. up and

  2899. raise

  2900. your

  2901. heads

  2902. because

  2903. your

  2904. redemption

  2905. is

  2906. drawing

  2907. near

  2908. do you

  2909. believe

  2910. that

  2911. do you

  2912. believe

  2913. that

  2914. when you

  2915. think

  2916. about

  2917. the

  2918. gospel

  2919. do you

  2920. believe

  2921. in

  2922. eternal

  2923. life

  2924. you know

  2925. some people

  2926. say well

  2927. hell

  2928. isn't

  2929. eternal

  2930. if hell

  2931. is not

  2932. eternal

  2933. then

  2934. neither

  2935. is

  2936. life

  2937. so you

  2938. might want

  2939. to think

  2940. that one

  2941. through a little

  2942. bit

  2943. hell is

  2944. eternal

  2945. but eternal

  2946. life

  2947. is eternal

  2948. as well

  2949. and this is

  2950. what we have

  2951. to look

  2952. forward to

  2953. paradise

  2954. with no

  2955. sin

  2956. revelation

  2957. 21

  2958. then I

  2959. saw a

  2960. new heaven

  2961. and a

  2962. new earth

  2963. for the

  2964. first heaven

  2965. and the

  2966. first earth

  2967. had passed

  2968. away

  2969. and the

  2970. sea was

  2971. no more

  2972. and I

  2973. saw the

  2974. holy

  2975. city

  2976. new

  2977. Jerusalem

  2978. coming

  2979. down

  2980. out of

  2981. heaven

  2982. from

  2983. God

  2984. prepared

  2985. as a

  2986. bride

  2987. adorned

  2988. for a

  2989. husband

  2990. and I

  2991. heard a loud

  2992. voice from the throne

  2993. saying behold

2994. the dwelling place of God

  2995. is with man

2996. he will dwell with them

2997. and they will be his people

2998. and God himself will be with them

  2999. as their God

3000. he will wipe away every tear

  3001. from their eyes

3002. and death shall be no more

3003. neither shall there be mourning

  3004. !

  3005. nor crying

  3006. nor pain

  3007. anymore

  3008. for the former

  3009. things

  3010. have passed

  3011. away

  3012. for the former

  3013. things have passed

  3014. away

  3015. do you believe this?

3016. that he's going to come and make all things right?

  3017. sin, death, tears

3018. they're all going to be gone

  3019. sickness

3020. it's all going to be gone

3021. this is the good news

3022. do you believe in gospel

  3023. past, present, future?

  3024. do you believe that

3025. you've been saved from the penalty of sin?

3026. you're being saved from the power of sin

3027. and you will be saved from the presence of sin

  3028. I close with 1 Peter 1, 3-5

3029. blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

3030. according to his great mercy

3031. he has caused us to be born again

  3032. to a living hope

  3033. a living hope

3034. through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

  3035. to an inheritance

  3036. that is imperishable

  3037. undefiled

  3038. unfading

3039. kept in heaven for you

3040. it's in the future, right?

3041. kept in heaven for you

3042. who by God's power are being guarded

  3043. through faith

3044. for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time

3045. the salvation that's coming in the future

3046. you're being guarded for now

3047. this power is available now to guard you

3048. let's believe in this power

3049. let's not be functional atheists

3050. let's trust in the power of God

  3051. in pockets of unbelief

  3052. amen?

  3053. amen

  3054. please stand

  3055. me

  3056. me

  3057. me

  3058. me

  3059. me

  3060. me

  3061. !

  3062. me

  3063. !
