Sunday Message: Dwelling in the Place Called There

There.

This past week, we started a series and told the story about our place called There because we do believe God has a place called there for everybody.

Globally, lifespan-wise, we believe everybody has a place called there.

So with your place called there, this is Jeremiah 29.11 for your life.

But God says Jeremiah 29.11.

I think I have this already read.

I apologize.

Thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end.

So God has an expected end, Diff translation of hoping the future.

Or so he had expectation for us to get there by the end of our lives.

So we know that unfortunately there is a perfect will of God and there's a permissive will of God.

The perfect will of God that we all will get there.

It is the will of God that none should perish.

But we know some people will perish.

So where is this dichotomy?

Where is this paradox for the say?

That God has a place called there for each and one of us, but each and every one of us don't get there.

So last week we talked about it, we introduced the concept of a place called there.

This week we're gonna dive a little bit deeper in the concept of a place called there, because I believe that hey, God doesn't want us to just, you know, visit place called there.

But he wants us to dwell there, he wants us to live there, he wants us to rule and reign with him on this earth from the place called there.

He wants you, oh my gosh, getting ahead of myself.

He wants us to rule and reign on this because that's what we would call that's what we were left on this earth to do, rule and reign with him.

And he wants us to do it from the positioning that he has given us by the sacrifice or the price paid on cabbage tree.

So because the price paid on cabbage tree, meaning when Jesus died and most importantly rose again, Ephesians says we are seated in heaven places with them.

So we have a positioning in the anointing or in Christ.

So if you are in Christ, how to get in Christ, Romans 10, 9, 10, confess your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised from the dead, you are saved.

So you do that, you are positioned with him in heavenly places, but you're a dual citizen, heaven on earth.

So pretty much almost like Jesus was as he walked in his earth, he was fully God and fully man.

He showed us how a man led by the Holy Spirit can operate, move, rule, and reign on this earth.

As he is, so are we.

So he checked in with the Heavenly Father, he prayed, he he went to synagogue.

You know, he was a Jew, he read his word, he he walked it out, he he entrusted to faith of other people as well.

So then what he asked us to do is in his absence.

Of course, you have the miracle signs and wonders that he did, but even he said, Greater work shall we do.

So there is a place that God wants us to rule and reign.

And I believe increasingly it's from this place of communion, unity, oneness with him.

Or somebody wants that, the secret place.

So in the anointing, in Christ, we are seated in heavenly places in him.

In him, in the anointing, in Christ, we're seated.

Old Testament picture, Psalm 91, Psalm 91, verse 1.

Psalms 91:1

That was our text version.

Find these words.

He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, my fortress, my God, in Him will I trust.

Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the noise and pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thy trust.

His truth shall be thy shield and butler, I'm sorry.

Thou shalt not, we shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor for the air that flies by day, nor for the pastor that's walking in the darkness, nor for the destruction that wasted at noonday.

A thousand shall follow thy sight, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come to us.

Thousand families may fall apart, thousand marriages may fall apart, even ones close to you, it shall not come to yours.

A thousand people may lose jobs, financial calamity, shall not come to us.

Glory to God.

Only with that eye shall we behold and see the reward of the wicked.

We were talking about this earlier.

My daughter left out the whole week was punishment.

That's what it means.

Because thou have made the most the Lord, which is the most high.

Which is I'm sorry, because thou have made the Lord, which is the my refuge, even the most high, the habitation, there shall no evil befall thee.

Where in the habitation, where in the most high, because we've made there, there, there, there, there, there.

The our refuge, our habitation, there shall no evil befall thee.

Neither should any plague that come down now, thy dwelling, for he shall give his angel charge over thee to keep thee in all thy way.

They shall bear thee up in their hand, lest thou dash thy foot against the stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder, the young lion, and the dragon shall I trample on the feet, because he has set his love upon me.

Therefore will I deliver him.

I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him.

I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With my own life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Let's back up.

You heard me say it, verse 10.

So it's interesting.

At the end of verse 9, you have a semicolon.

I mean a code, no simicole, not a code.

Sorry.

9 10.

Because thou you have made the Lord, which is his refuge.

So this is the Arthur saying, Hey, you made him.

I've had experience because he's my refuge.

Now you've done this as well, because you have done this, even the most high, thy habitation, there in the secret place, in the habitation of the most high, there shall evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come now thy dwelling.

So we have this ideal, is right here of the place called there.

There's the habitation, there's the dwelling, there is the secret place.

And so, because of that, it's from that place of protection, it's from there that we have the promise of security and provision.

It's from that place.

But the question is, are you in that place?

Do you visit only or do you dwell there?

Because you have made the habitation habitation.

Let me look at it real quick.

Oh sorry, clearly won't be on doing this slightly off my notes, but this will happen when we read the book.

Habitation, I'm gonna do this a quick Google search.

So this is not as I'm gonna try to do Webster's definition Webster.

Actually, do a little bit better there.

Definition Webster's 1829, I think.

1820 dictionary.

God dictionary of the Bible.

It says that the act of inhabiting or the state of dwelling, the place of abode, a settled dwelling, a mansion or a house, or other place in which man or animals dwell.

A place of abode.

So because you have made the Lord, even the most high, the place of abode.

In that place shall no evil come now.

Now, I told you last week, I'm thoroughly believed that there's a place called there in the big sense.

Totally believe that.

Take a step further, so we're backwards in this place for our lives.

That means that there's a place for our years to add up, glory to glory, faith to faith, here to there, then back it up.

It's a place for your months, place for your days.

Believe that we call it purpose.

I believe that every single day that God allows you to be up, there's a place he wants you to, there's some things he wants you to accomplish on that particular day.

There's a place he wants you to get to in the natural.

Totally agree with that.

But that comes from supernatural dwelling or in a secret place we talked about.

Because what happens is prayer must change us.

Prayer allows us this great exchange to where we meet with God.

So if we talked about it locally in the local gathering, we talked about the secret place, the place called there is ultimately in the spirit.

Because from that communion, we can recognize there in the natural.

So for instance, let's say that I marry my wife, right?

And there are some things to look for in a wife, some qualities for wife, hub.

It's in there.

But it doesn't tell you to listen or mean it didn't say Regis and Mary Tony is in none of the six books.

Reggie, Mary Tony.

No.

But because of my relationship with God, my fellowship with God, there was enough in the written word, and because of our communion, the time we spent together, the things he spoke to me, the Rhema, the revealed word, I recognized it when there came.

So from there to there.

So what if I told you that if he could do it for me, do it for you.

There's a place called there, I believe God wants us to get to in prayer.

In prayer, there's a place where God wants us to get to when we show up for the assignment.

What happens is this God is a busy man, but he chooses to be everywhere at the same time, including with me and with you.

So because he's so big, he got the whole world in his hand, but he has you on his mind, which is so true.

That means that when he makes an appointment with us, he has an appointed time for each other to come and talk to him.

The fellowship, every appointment has a purpose and a point.

But far too often, we don't necessarily get to the point of the meeting.

We don't get to the point of the meeting for a lot of different reasons.

So the question is if you're from your place of prayer, do you get there?

That's ultimately what we're talking about right now.

Take a step further.

Not only life-wise, not only year-wise, not only month and day-wise, but in our time of prayer, in those appointed times where you show up in the natural in your place of prayer, whether it's your bedroom, whether it's in your car, whether it's, you know, I do believe in having some uninterrupted time with them.

I really do believe that.

Because, once again, focus.

Can we give them our attention?

Now, there's nothing wrong with we call it God on the go.

To where it's like we have a situation like, hey, I'm doing this, I'm moving, you know, be with me to go throughout my day, God.

Yes, but there's also probably more importantly, God, how do you want me to spend this day?

We want me to do this day that you have given me.

Where's the daily bread?

The daily give us Matthew 6, Matthew 6, the modern prayer, give us this day, our daily bread.

Father God, where's the provisions you've already made?

How have you provided?

Where have you shown me where to go in this day?

Yes, I understand I have things I need to accomplish in the natural, but they take second place to what you will have me to do.

That's why Jesus said in Matthew 6, 33, seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, all these things, food, clothing, shelter, and context, shall be added, including the source of that.

Not saying don't go to work, don't do your thing.

But what I am saying is that if we spend all of our time going to God talking about our jobs, and we don't allow God to speak to us about his purpose being fulfilled, or even how he wants us to navigate to the job, he is that practical because he has a place called there, even in prayer.

Now, prayer doesn't give me access to God, Jesus has given me access to God because of the price bone cabbage tree.

We have access to God because of the blood.

We come to Christ, we come to the Father by the blood.

So glory, hallelujah, Jesus.

Thank you for that.

For from that position, now I pray, your son, your daughter, from that we pray, and that is what we want to tap into a little bit of.

So from that position of importance and value, we connect with God.

A few years ago, those over there have been us for a minute, we had a confession while the youth pastors um believe it was revelation.

I do believe it's time to bring it back with a few tweaks to it.

Some of them may recognize this.

Because of the price paid on cabbage tree, I am healed, living, and set free of debt, doubt, worry, restress, and fear.

By grace through faith.

We used to say to manifest God's good, pleasing, perfect will my spirit, so and body.

Now I'm gonna remix a little bit.

By grace through faith, I am free to love God, live bold.

I believe God, I obey his word, I live empowered by the spirit, and I disciple the nations on the mountain, the median oak mountain, for the city to the world.

Right?

Because of the price paid on Cabbage Tree, I'm healed, delivered, set free.

Debt, doubt, worry, stress, and fear.

By grace through faith, I am free to love God and live both.

I believe God, I obey His word, I live empowered by the Holy Spirit, and I can disciple the nation from the mountain for the city to the world.

Right?

So now becomes the question how does someone whose Christ has made free and protection do it?

Right?

I'm sorry, my nose have flipped because I went somewhere and now I'm kind of sticking my nose.

I apologize.

So, so we we brought that back, and honestly, I believe God is still breathing on that as well.

That's our confession, that's our prayer.

We prayed that, and we can get back on it with the breakfast abandoned.

Now, because of the price paid on Calvary's tree, we declare you are healed, delivered, and set free from debt, doubt, worry, stress, and free by grace through faith that you are free to love God and live both.

You can believe God, you can obey His word, you can live and power by the Spirit.

Most importantly, you can be a part of discipline the nations right where you are.

Like we say, love God both.

So we have the situation where from this place called there, that's where we live, that positioning, that place was important, his presence in our presence, his presence, his presence.

And so the challenge is to remain abiding in communion with God, to where we were until his presence become greater than my pressure, and his will becomes greater than my prefaces, okay?

To where his presence becomes greater than my pressures, and his will becomes greater than my prefaces.

This is critical, particularly as we, you know, we talked earlier about checking in with him.

Check in with him.

Because ultimately, if we prioritize his presence like Moses did in Matthew chapter 33, I mean Exodus 33, we will have the same results that he did.

God told Moses, go there.

Moses, like, if you don't go with us, there is nowhere to go.

Meaning, God will get you there.

We just read 71.

He shall give his angels charge over thee.

It is their ministering, ministering angels who are there to minister to us to see to it that his will is fulfilled in our lives.

But we have to prioritize his presence over our pressures and his will over our preferences, trusting and believing that his will is better than what I want for myself.

His will for you, his will for me is greater than what we want for ourselves.

What he wants for us is greater than what we want for ourselves, and I'm offering prayer to good things for myself and my family and our church.

But he wants better for us, higher.

That's an act of trust.

Take stuff further.

So what we're talking about, we're talking about the place called there, particularly in the place of prayer.

We talked about how oftentimes a few most times we don't get there to that place of prayer because a lot of times we want God on the go.

So we may have moments where we visit that place.

What do you mean?

Let's say you have time, you're on vacation, you have a Sunday morning or certain service experience where it's like I got there.

We commune with God, we pray, we got to that place, but we visited.

God doesn't want just to visit, he wants you to live there.

So how's this look?

Thanks be to God for visits.

We invite you to visit us at Boat Church.

So visiting is okay because there are some vacations you take that change the way you live when you get back.

You know, if you haven't done one, you should take one.

But some vacation, it's like, I want to live like this.

Some people have made a decision to move.

Why?

Because of a great vacation, great experience that they've had.

Or some people, maybe moving this one in the butt what they did, they brought the experience back home with them.

So they set up their house or they set up their calendar.

So how did it look?

Why that visit, that encounter marked them so much.

It led to right, take step further.

Some of us before we had that moment with God, we were hurting, we were desperate, we were confused, we were afraid.

Well, if you know me, we're struggling with dead doubt, word, stress, and fear.

And so once that happened, we came to God.

Some of us as a first or some of us as a last resort.

Not here to judge, but we came.

And we encountered Jesus.

So we have this encounter, we have this moment of clarity, we have this experience where it's like it's almost like He's building you back up.

Why?

Because you're in a place called there where He is.

But God doesn't want you just to visit there on Sunday mornings, He doesn't just want you to visit there, you know.

Want you to remain.

Abide, verse 4.

Abide in me and I in you.

As a branch cannot bear fruit of except except it abides in the vine.

No more can you except you abide in me.

I'm the vine, ye the branches.

He that abide in me and I him the same bringeth forth much fruit.

So if you want to produce fruit for Christ, you want to be fruitful and multiply.

We talk about the parable of the talents.

Five, two, and one.

We all have to give at least one talent, and God expects us to be fruitful.

He gives us the Chico, abiding him.

Abiding Him.

But some of us, why do we disconnect when we leave?

God wants us to be like an Ethernet core with him.

But so many of us are looking for a Bluetooth or a Wi-Fi connection when God wants us Ethernet.

For those who know what that is, that's just a cord directly to the wall.

You can get a short court or a long court, but he wants to connect directly to him, to remain connected to him.

So what's the difference?

We kind of said it earlier, it's the time.

It's the time.

One of the differences, particularly in relationships, in great relationships, you spend enough time with somebody to where you can recognize their voice, their expressions, their mannerisms, you can recognize, you know, the likes, the dislikes, and you can tell because you spend time with them.

If that's on human relationships, how much more is it with a heavenly father who values time with us?

So are you dwelling in your place called there, the secret place, or are you just visiting sometime?

He wants us to dwell there.

Dwell there so much so that in a good relationship, when you're not around that person, you act like them, you speak like them.

Or the atmosphere of that place envelops you.

Peter and John had been arrested, brought before the council.

And what happened is verse 13.

Now, when they saw the boldness, God lived of Peter and John, they perceived they were unlearned, ignorant men.

They marveled and they took knowledge of them that they have been with Jesus.

People were able to look at Peter and John and say, Y'all have been with Jesus.

There's a boldness about there's an excitement, there's a courage, there is a Genesis quasi, about you that we can tell you've been with Jesus.

Based on us or how we, who does life say you spend the most time with?

Is it Him or is it them?

Not to judge as to locate.

Because the truth of the matter is a lot more of us prioritize more time.

Anybody but Christ, and so then when we see mannerisms that we may not desire, or we're trying to change our mannerisms, people are like Christ, we looking like, oh my gosh, who do you spend the most time with?

And when you spend the most time with these people, what are you talking about?

What are you doing?

Are they pushing you toward him?

Challenging you on the things of God, or you know, you know.

The time, Peter and John's time with Jesus left evidence.

Corinthians 3.18 alludes to as we behold the Lord, we are progressively transformed into his image.

Once again, the place called there, as we remain, as we abide in a place called there, the evidence says we start to grow, begin to look like him.

So if you don't like how things look right now, check check the time.

And it's not just time, it's quality time, impactful time.

I'm not saying you have to spend 45 minutes at one time, but I am saying that with the time that you have or that you dedicated, how is it impacting you?

And if it hasn't, you might need to increase the time.

So we have this progression, okay?

First, you have a visit, in that visit, we have an encounter.

Thanks be to God.

From that encounter, we want to change up some stuff.

Why?

Because you were so marked by that moment.

So we pray that you remain consistently, give more time, attention, surrender, and then because of that increased time, attention, surrender, we begin to recognize his character, his will, his ways, and his word.

Why?

Because now we're spending time with him.

And so now we okay.

I can under okay.

That's how oh, that's how you really are.

Okay, sure.

And then as we recognize him, it begins to form us.

We begin to resemble his character, and from that place, we represent, oh, let's say we live both.

Once again, we can tell where someone has been dwelling because eventually they begin to carry evidence of that place.

It's like it's a low-hanging fruit, but it's true.

If you've been around spending enough time with somebody who smoked, you carry the evidence of being in that place when somebody smokes.

Why?

It's in your clothing third.

So the way that we are, who do we spend more time?

Who do we spend more time with?

Him or them.

Just saying, just saying, the place called there, because we have made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most high, thy habitation, there shall no evil be followed.

So as we're spending time there, there's no evil that there can touch you.

That's what he said.

I ain't saying he said, Shall no evil come nigh thee.

Or not thy dwelling.

The question is, do you dwell where he told are you dwelling where he told you to?

Are you dwelling there?

Meaning, from your relationship with him, are you do you know that where you are is where you should be?
