The Daily Walk | 09.18.2026 | Melinda Tyler | 2 Timothy 2:2

Good morning and welcome to Friday.

I'm not Pastor Mike, but this is Melinda, and I'm gonna be filling in for a little while here on Fridays on our daily walks.

Pastor Mike always encouraged us to look ahead to what Pastor Aaron would be preaching on Sundays, and so at least for this week, I'm gonna continue in that vein.

So last couple, last four weeks, we've been at one big gathering at 10:30, looking out, looking at our vision and our mission and our values of our church and the days ahead.

And we are looking forward to this Sunday, our last Sunday, as one gathering at 10:30, and we're gonna be talking about multiplying disciples.

And in our booklet, in the values study booklet, it says this it says the idea of multiplication is rooted in the Bible, where we see a pattern of discipleship that extends beyond mere instruction.

Jesus invested in the disciples, modeled a life of discipleship before them, and then entrusted them with the mission of multiplying that same process.

In 2 Timothy 2 2, Paul tells Timothy, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

This is the heart of the disciple-making process, empowering others to carry a message forward and to do the same.

It requires a commitment based on a long-term process for of equipping and investing in others.

Here in 2 Timothy, we see that Paul is writing to Timothy, encouraging him to hold firm in the faith, to remember what he was taught by Paul, and then to them we see in 2 Timothy 2.2 that we are to entrust that same truth of the gospel to the next generation, to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

And so we see here this idea of multiplication, that it's not just me investing in someone, but it's that person investing in the next who would invest in the next.

And that is why one of our core values, core vision statements would be to be a church that is multiplying disciples.

I hope you come this Sunday expectant and ready to hear from God and what He is going to do in, through, and for us as we magnify Christ and share the gospel.
