The Epiphany

Welcome, welcome to my live stream. It's good to be

with you this evening. We're going to be talking about

the epiphany in the New Testament. Very important concept because

there's so many different words in Greek that talks about

the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's not that

simple as it is in English. Epiphany means the appearing.

So we're going to talk about this It's pretty important.

So God bless everybody. Matthew Miller here from Maranatha Ministries.

So this concept, this idea of the epiphany, it comes

from the Greek word in the Greek Strong's. And please,

I'm trying to get everybody to start looking into the

Hebrew and Greek. This is easily done with today's resources.

Blue Letter Bible. logos. I mean, there's so many different

ways you can get to the actual Greek. So I'm

just going to keep trying to get you to actually

look at what God's Word actually says. And remember, God's

Word is not a translation. So that is in Hebrew

and in Greek. So anyway, this is in the Strong's Concordance, G2015.

Let's take a listen to it in Greek. Strong's G, 2015. Epiphania. Epiphania. Epiphania. Epiphania. Now,

we in English use the word epiphany. So it's better

to use our English, but you need to know that's

where epiphany comes from, is this Greek word. So take

note that the etymology of this noun is key critical

for you to get at. So this comes from another

Strong's word, the word that's after it in the Strong's Concordance.

So this comes from G2016, 2016. And that means to

be illustrious. It means to be bright. Take note. It

means to be bright like a star. Or you're in

a dark tunnel and... a car turns its headlights on

or turns into the thing and you see, boop, the appearing.

That's what epiphany means, the appearing. So let's take a

look at this, where this is at in the Bible

and concerning the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ because

this is key critical that we understand these things. So

the first time this is used, is in 2 Thessalonians

2 Thessalonians 2 · chapter mention

chapter 2. And it's used in conjunction with another Greek

word that we're going to talk about tomorrow. But this here,

it says, 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, verse 8. And then

2 Thessalonians 2:8

the lawlessness will be revealed. Now, that's another Greek word.

That's apocalypse. This is apocalypse in Greek. So you have

three different words in one verse that Means the coming

or revealing. In Greek. So. Then the lawless one will

be revealed. Whom the Lord will consume. With the breath

of his mouth. And destroy with the brightness. Epiphany. Of

his coming. Now. That word for coming. Is a different word.

So he's trying to. To relay. That. He is going

to appear, and once he appears, he will arrive. Now,

that's what the next word is. Now, I'm not going

to talk about that. It's just going to create information overload.

So you need to understand, this is the word that

means to appear. For example, in Greek you would use this,

if your, let's say your prodigal son, is coming home

and you're out on the farm and once he comes

into view once he comes around the corner or once

he comes over the hill once he comes over the

hill boop boop once he comes over the hill he's

appeared to you he's appeared that's what this word means

that's what epiphany means So, 1st Titus, or yes. Let

me get over here real quick. Sorry, don't you love it? So,

1st Timothy, chapter 6, verse 14. That you keep his

commandment without spot blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ Okay.

So this is key critical. You understand that he did

not say arrive. He said appear. This is key critical

to the entire eschatological timeline. If you don't understand this,

you don't get what's going on. So we're going to

get into this. We're eventually going to have to go

to Matthew chapter 24 and relay to him and relay

to you exactly what he said, how this is going

to play out. So anyway, it's key critical that we

need to endure, we need to persevere until we see

his appearing. And yes, well, we'll talk about that here

in a minute. So 2 Timothy 1, verse 10. But

2 Timothy 1:10

has now been revealed by the appearing, of our Savior

Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and

immortality to light through the gospel. This is in reference

to his first coming. So take note. This is where

we get the usage for the word advent. This is

plainly stating that he did appear the first time, and

there's only two appearings. And he's going to appear the

second time. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 8 was very

clear about that. He's going to appear again. This verse

is relating to the fact of his first appearance. He

appeared once and he's going to appear again. So in

2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 1, I charge you therefore

2 Timothy 4:1

before God and the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge

the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom. Boy,

that was a mouthful. But you have to understand the

dynamics involved. So he just said that things will be

sorted out when he appears. Now this is key critical.

This is key critical that you understand what's going on here.

So in just that same chapter, 2 Timothy chapter 4,

2 Timothy 4:8

Verse 8 says, finally, there is laid up for me

a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge,

will give me on that day. And not to me only,

but also all who have loved his appearing. Who's loved

his appearing. Now remember, appearing means you can see that

prodigal son turn the corner and he comes into view.

You're waiting for him. And he's either going to come

over the hill or he's going to come around the corner.

His appearing. That's what it says. From his appearing. This

is key critical to the Bible timeline. It is absolutely

detrimental that you know this. So the last time is

in Titus chapter 2 verse 13. Looking for the blessed

Titus 2:13

hope and the glorious appearing. Of our great God and

Savior Jesus Christ. We are not waiting for his arrival.

Our expectation. Is his appearing. It's his appearing. Now. Once

you understand. The timeline. Things come into critical mass. So.

It's not hard. to depict what's being talked about here

when you know what you're looking for. When you know

what's going on, when you know what to look for,

it's right here in plain sight. So let's go to

Matthew chapter 24. Okay. It comes up here in verse 26.

In verse 26, he says this. He says, therefore, if

they say to you, look, he is in the desert,

do not go out. Or look, he is in the

inner rooms, do not believe it. For as lightning comes.

from the east and flashes to the west so will

the coming of the son of man be this is

that other greek word for arrival So when you put

these two together, you realize where this is going. Once again,

we come down another couple of verses, okay? Let's keep reading.

Verse 28. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles

will be gathered also. Take note. This is talking about angels.

Verse 29. Immediately after the tribulation of those days, so

this is not the great tribulation, This is talking about

the tribulation of the birth pangs after the tribulation of

the birth pangs. Yet it didn't say great tribulation. It

said the tribulation of those days. The sun will be

darkened and the moon will not give its light. The

stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the

heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son

of Man will appear, will appear in heaven. And then

all the tribes of the earth will mourn when they

see the Son of Man coming. That's another Greek word.

Not the same one as arrival. This one is best

translated as coming. On the clouds of heaven with power

and great glory. So, it's key critical that you're able

to understand exactly what's going on here in the Greek.

With every word we've covered, it's imperative that you understand

these things. So, this Greek word we're talking about today

is epiphany. And take note. So, this word here in

Matthew chapter 24, verse 30, let me read it for

Matthew 24:30

you again. Then the sign of the Son of Man

will appear. Guess what? That is the Greek word that

is the root word for epiphany so epiphany is this

greek word with the prefix epi which means upon or

well when you put this prefix to it it means

once he appears once you can see him or or

um Once you can see the brightness, that's what it means.

So this is G5316. This is why it means to appear.

And this means to shine, to be bright, to glitter

like a star, like I was talking before. So this

is the root word. So you need to realize that's

what Jesus Christ is talking about here. This is what

he's talking about. He just told you that the great

tribulation happens after the tribulation of the birth pangs. After that,

the abomination of desolation is set up, and this is

what is triggered. The sun goes dark, the stars go out,

and guess what? He appears. And his appearance, what you're

seeing in the heavens, is going to be exactly what

the magi saw the first time, Yes, it is. It's

going to be exactly what the Magi saw the first time.

You're going to be able to see, and that is

the sign of the Son of Man. You'll be able

to see him coming in his divine procession. You understand?

He must travel from the spiritual capital in the spiritual world.

That spiritual capital is Zion. That's plainly said. Plainly declared.

In Hebrews chapter 12. Verse 22. That's just the categorical truth.

It's beyond contestation. So he has to travel. From that

capital city. To his capital city. Because the kingdom. Has

been bifurcated. According to. Revelation chapter 11. Verse 15. There's

Revelation 11 · chapter mention

two kingdoms. From the very beginning. Those two kingdoms. are

two different dimensions. One is the spiritual dimension. One is

the material dimension. He must travel from his father's spiritual capital, Zion.

He must make his divine procession from there all the

way to his material capital of Jerusalem. That's what this

is saying. And for the entire time of the tribulation,

which the Bible says seven different times, three different ways,

that the Great Tribulation is three and a half years,

that entire 1,260 days, you will be able to see

the sign of the Son of Man getting bigger and

bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger until after 42 months,

he crashes our party. That's what's being talked about here.

This is what is meant by these things. So, Jumping

down here in verse 36, he talks about no one

knows the day or hour of his arrival. That's the

other Greek word. We're going to talk about that tomorrow.

Now we're talking about the appearing. Anyway, maybe we better

hold this. No, let's go ahead and do this. But

of that day and hour, no one knows, not even

the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as

the days of Noah were, so also will be the coming.

This is arrival. It's not appearing. This is arrival. The

arrival of the Son of Man. For as in the

days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, yada, yada, yada, yada.

You know this narrative. So once he appears, the scientists

are going to have existential problems. You see, because the

Lord Jesus Christ is not going to create parallax. I

said he's not going to create parallax. This is why

they get so deathly afraid. You see, because the Lord

Jesus Christ makes a straight path. He knows exactly where

the earth is and this is what's going to terrify

them so much. Because He doesn't create parallax. Now, what

is parallax? Parallax is created from the apparent wobble of

a celestial object, and the wobble comes from us. Let

us say this is the sun. Okay, this is the sun.

In our furthest point out here, we see an object.

But then we go all the way to the other

side of the sun, and here's our second perceptive. So

in between the two extremes, An object in heaven wobbles.

But Jesus Christ does not go wobble. Because he's coming

directly to the earth, not the sun. So he's coming,

and as he does so, he will just create a beeline.

As the earth moves, he moves with it. He's coming

directly to the earth now. Once you understand that, that's

how you're able to understand why you can't know the

day and hour of his arrival. So it's imperative that

you see this is the language that the Greek is

talking about. This is why these things are important for

you to research for yourself. And of course, this immediately

dispels a pre-tribulational rapture. That being a theological myth. That's

a theological myth. When you know the Greek and these

words in Greek, you know exactly what he's talking about.

Once he appears, he's not going to produce parallax. Without parallax,

you cannot know the day or the hour of his

arrival because that's how scientists calculate everything. That's how they

calculate the distance and the trajectory. You're not going to

be able to do that with him because as the

Earth moves, he will change his direction and come right

to it. That's what it's talking about. If you've never

heard this before, it's probably because you've never heard an

end-time Bible prophecy teacher that had been born again. Because

once you're born again, you have the promise of the

Holy Spirit. It is this and this alone which guarantees

that you've been born again. Now, We can jump over there,

and I can read it for you. Let's go ahead

and do that right now, okay? So, take note. These

things are categorically true that I'm going to tell you.

You have to realize that everything happens for a reason.

There's a reason why all these things happen, and it

happens in succession to one another. This is why. And

once you understand that this is actually in the Bible,

that you are able to understand how you can prove

how someone has been born again, it will literally blow

your mind. It will literally blow your mind. But we're

going to go here to John chapter 17. And he's

going to tell you exactly how you can know someone

has been born again. Because once they've been born again,

he shows them the timeline. You need to write this down.

You need to write this down. And take note. It's

because of these things that people become very disturbed. They

become very disturbed when they've been preaching false prophecy timelines,

false prophecy models. it really does bother them because in

their pride, they cannot admit they're wrong. They just can't

admit they're wrong. And I know that's upsetting, but this

happens literally all the time. So I'm going to read

John chapter 16, verses 13 through 15. Here, Jesus Christ

John 16:13–15

categorically tells his Disciples, now look, Pentecost hasn't happened yet.

Until you have the Holy Spirit, you can't know what's

going on. He's getting ready to, this is, he's literally

talking to his disciples. Verse 13, however, when he, the

spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into

all truth, for he will not speak of his own authority,

but whoever he hears, he will speak, and he will

tell you what? Things to come. He will glorify me,

for he will, take of what is mine and declare

it to you. All things that the Father has are mine.

Therefore I said he will take of mine and declare

it to you. So you have to know what are

the seals? Do you know? Do you know what the

double-sided seven-sealed scroll is? What are the trumpets? What do

they do? I talked about this a few minutes ago.

What are the bowl judgments? What are they for? What's happening?

So it's imperative that you understand that the spirit of truth,

once you've been born again, it's now I'm going to

reveal to you verse 12. You need to write this down.

John chapter 16, verses 12 through 15. You need to

write this down because he tells his own disciples, you

can't understand this right now what I'm getting ready to say,

but you will after the spirit of truth comes because

the spirit of truth will show you the timeline. Let

me read the whole thing again. I still have many

things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

So you can't bear them once you, if you've only

been water baptized. If you continue, once you've been water baptized,

to sin willfully, according to Hebrews chapter 10, verses 26

Hebrews 10:26–29

through 29, you insult the spirit of grace so you

cannot be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Once you're baptized

in the Holy Spirit, listen, This is what Jesus Christ

told his disciples. I want to read the whole thing now.

I still have many things to say to you, but

you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the spirit

of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth.

For he will not speak of his own authority, but

whatever he hears, he will speak. And he will tell

you things to come. He will glorify me, for he

will take up what is mine and declare it to you.

All things that the Father has are mine. Therefore I

said he will take of mine and declare it to you.

He just said what the double-sided seven-sealed scroll is. It's

a bifurcation declaration. He's just getting ready to tell you.

He just told you that this is what the apocalypse

of Jesus Christ is. This is why he hasn't been

coronated yet. Hebrews chapter 10. Verses 11 through 14 plainly

Hebrews 10 · chapter mention

states Jesus Christ has not been coronated yet. When he

is coronated, he becomes co-regent. God the Father becomes the

sole ruler in the spiritual world. That's called heaven. Genesis

Genesis 1:1

chapter 1 verse 1. Jesus Christ becomes the sole ruler

in the material world. That's called earth of creation. These

things are important. They're true. These things are true. You

need to begin to edify yourself. You need to saturate

your psyche with Scripture. Read it. When you can't read it,

listen to it. Get the Bible on audio. Get it

on CDs. I don't think anybody has cassette players anymore,

but I'm sure they have cassettes still of the Bible.

This is what you need to do. And you absolutely

need to memorize this. John chapter 16 verses 12 through 15.

John 16:12–15

You need to memorize it. You need to memorize it

because this is proof that whoever is teaching you that

they have been born again. Because they will not talk

about theological myths like a preacher of rapture. They will

not talk about They will not teach you false narratives

like preterism. Of course the Lord Jesus Christ is going

to literally rule and reign for a thousand years. That's

the whole point because the kingdom's been bifurcated. That's why

verse 15 says what it says. I have to become

co-ruler with the Father. That's what Jesus was saying. Anyway.
