  1. And sometimes when you don't go back where you started

  2. and remember what God did where you started, you lose

  3. perspective when you get where you're going. Oh man, I

  4. feel so guilty preaching this point. It's so easy for

  5. me to get caught up and consumed in my own convenience,

  6. my own drama, my own insecurities, my own dysfunction.

  7. And a lot of times, I'll be honest with you.

  8. I don't share what God is doing in my life

  9. because it doesn't seem big. Because I can compare it

  10. to something else and it seems small. It seems small

  11. like these stones. You know, at one point in your life,

  12. you're really grateful for it. But then at some point,

  13. it can lose its significance. I was asking somebody the

  14. other day if I could hear their testimony.

  15. It's a church word, right?

  16. Testimony.

  17. People don't really talk like that except in courts and church.

  18. It's just a real churchy thing to say.

  19. They were like, well, when I was 12, and they

  20. were 53, I was like, not that testimony. You can't

  21. fight today's devils if you don't have today's testimony. There

  22. needs to be a current work that God is doing

  23. in your life.

  24. Yes, he saved me, and I want to talk about that,

  25. but what is he doing in my life today?

  26. Another generation that knew not the Lord nor what he

  27. had done for Israel. This is your testimony. It can

  28. be a tiny testimony. It doesn't have to be a

  29. big rock. You can fight the devil with a little rock.

  30. Ask David. You can fight a big giant with a

  31. little rock if you.

  32. Know how to throw it.

  33. I said, you can fight depression with a little rock

  34. if you know how to throw it.

  35. You can fight discouragement with.

  36. A little tiny testimony.

  37. I don't have a big testimony. Pretty much all my life,

  38. I've been serving the Lord. I never was on drugs

  39. and women and running around. I pretty much grew up in.

  40. Come on, man.

  41. You don't have to have a meth lab in your

  42. garage to have a testimony. You don't have to be

  43. fresh off death row to have a testimony.

  44. You don't have to have 14 children by 14 women

  45. to have a testimony.

  46. A testimony, it can be the smallest thing. Like a

  47. few weeks ago, I was getting ready to come out

  48. and preach. And I want to tell you this because

  49. Joshua said, tell them. Tell them what God did for you.

  50. Tell them. Tell them about it.

  51. Preach it.

  52. Teach it.

  53. You overcome by the blood of the lamb and the

  54. word of your testimony. There is power in your personal testimony.

  55. So a few weeks ago, I was getting ready to preach.

  56. I didn't feel like preaching.

  57. I love the Lord.

  58. I believe his word, and I believe he's coming again.

  59. I just didn't feel like preaching on that Saturday night.

  60. Weather was nasty.

  61. I didn't feel like preaching.

  62. So I was having a little pity party. I hate

  63. to tell you this, but I was being so childish.

  64. But then I had this moment.

  65. I was like, FaceTime one of your friends and get

  66. them to pray for you because the service was about

  67. to start. So the staff was out doing staff stuff,

  68. so they couldn't come pray for me. So I was

  69. going to FaceTime one of my friends who didn't have

  70. a Saturday night service, and he didn't answer. Apparently, Judah

  71. Smith had better things to do than pray for his friend.

  72. Then I called Craig Groeschel.

  73. That's my pastor. That's my guy. And he didn't answer.

  74. And he always answers. He didn't answer.

  75. And I was running out of time because I needed

  76. to get out there and preach.

  77. So I said this little pitiful prayer.

  78. You know, not the kind I pray in front of people.

  79. I was like, ah, Lord, since nobody wants to pray

  80. for me, I'm always praying for everybody else. I guess

  81. I'll go out, preach, I'll pray for myself.

  82. And I start praying, you know, this.

  83. Real mumbly, grumbly, grumpy prayer, a little bad attitude prayer,

  84. a little like kids going to make up the bed, fine.

  85. That kind of prayer.

  86. Have you ever had that level of faith where it's like.

  87. Fine, faith, fine, God.

  88. Fine, I'll pray for myself.

  89. So I start praying. Father, in the name of Jesus.

  90. Out loud, I say that.

  91. When I said, Father, in the name of Jesus, the

  92. moment I got it out of my mouth, Father, in

  93. the name of Jesus, my phone rang.

  94. My phone hardly ever rings.

  95. My phone, I mostly communicate by text. I don't do

  96. a lot of talking on the phone. And my phone rings,

  97. and it hardly ever rings. It never rings at that

  98. time of day. And it said, no caller ID. I'm

  99. not making this up.

  100. I said, I should answer this.

  101. I said, hello?

  102. This deep voice comes on the phone.

  103. What are you doing?

  104. The voice of none other.

  105. It could only be Bishop T.D.

  106. Jakes.

  107. That's like my favorite preacher since I'm like this big.

  108. Since I started preaching. wanting to be a preacher this

  109. was my favorite preacher and here.

  110. He is calling me what are you doing.

  111. And i was like hey mr jakes i was just

  112. going out to preach from saturday night service he said

  113. oh well since this is a bad time let me

  114. just pray for you before you go out there and

  115. preach real quick father in the name of jesus anoint

  116. him with your spirit and fill him with to see

  117. from him.

  118. I'm telling you, I'm not waiting until something. To me,

  119. I need to fight the devil sometimes with a phone call.

  120. There are little things that God has done for me.

  121. Moments where I called his name and there was nobody

  122. there to answer.

  123. And then all of a sudden, something from.

  124. Heaven with no caller ID and God reached out and

  125. God dried my tears and.

  126. God strengthened me and God upheld.

  127. Me with a mighty hand in.

  128. An outstretched arm. You need to tell these stories. You

  129. need to tell these stories. Stop telling yourself the story

  130. that nobody cares about you and that you're alone.

  131. And that it doesn't matter.

  132. Another generation who didn't know what the Lord had done

  133. for Israel because they stopped telling the story. And when

  134. you stop preaching the gospel to yourself and reminding yourself

  135. that the Son of God accepted and chose you and

  136. brought you out of Egypt and brought you out of

  137. sin and brought you through the Red Sea and brought

  138. you through the Jordan and brought down the.

  139. Jericho walls and Brought you out of bondage and brought

  140. you out of fear.

  141. Please hear me when you stop telling that story you

  142. lose your strength.
