Outer Darkness

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the fellowship. Today is

probably going to cause you some, well, it could cause

you emotional distress. Most certainly could cause you psychological distress.

Because I'm going to talk about what you've never heard before.

You've never heard this, ever. Even people here that are

Maranatha members, most of them have never heard me speak

about this publicly because the, well, how do you put that?

The entire corpus of disinformation surrounding this is just quite simply, it's,

it is beyond the pale. It's, But I need to

ask you something, okay? This is a true statement, right?

What is the outer darkness? Is that the lake of fire?

Did I get your attention? So, where will there be

weeping and gnashing of teeth? Where does that happen at? Uh-oh.

you need to appreciate this that only the teacher knows

the questions to ask to edify the student only the

teacher everybody knows this this is literally common knowledge whether

you're in first grade or tenth grade this is the

truth it's always been the truth It is the unadulterated truth.

This is how people learn, because they go to be

a tutor under a teacher, and that teacher, through a

series of questions, teaches them the discipline of the matter

at hand, whether it be mathematics, whether it be construction,

or anything, music. This is how it's done. And when

you go out there and ask people, well, wait a minute,

they kind of scratch their head. No, the outer darkness

can't be the lake of fire, really. If that's the case,

why has no one taught you what the outer darkness is?

And do you know there's something else besides the lake

of fire? Uh-oh, now I really got your attention. These

things are true. We will categorically prove this tonight. Now,

the first time the outer darkness is mentioned is Matthew

chapter 8. Very strange place. This is when Jesus heals

the centurion servant. He says, he... He puts it in

the exact way, well, that'll make most people gnash their teeth.

It's an anathema to them. So, let's just go through

here real quick. But before we do, let me ask

if there's anybody here in the fellowship that wants to

talk about anything or... Has any questions about anything? Because

we can do that instead, because I don't care. Anybody?

Is there anybody that wants to come on and enlighten

everybody as to what they've been taught about the outer darkness? Anybody? Matthew,

I don't know the answer, but I saw.

A documentary or something years ago about at the bottom

of the ocean and they called it the outer darkness.

Really? It was so black. Yeah. Down past the threshold

of light. Yes. Yes.

Yes.

It's pitch. Yes. Very good, Darlene. Yes. Anybody else? Anybody else? Um, Matthew,

it's Carol. I learned some time ago that it was

a place that believers went, that went apostate. That ain't good.

A place where believers went. Amen. Amen to that. They

most certainly will, as we're going to find out here

in the next hour. Anybody else? Okay. All right, so

let's go to Matthew chapter 8 and take note. This

is completely, well, you would think it's completely out of context, right?

It's thrown here. Well, when we get to it, I'll

point something out to you. You could remove the verse.

You can remove it and you'd never know it was missing. Now,

when Jesus had entered Capernaum, A centurion came to him,

pleading with him, saying, Lord, my servant is lying at

home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented. And Jesus said to him, I

will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord,

I am not worthy that you should come under my roof,

but only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers

under me, and I say to this one, Go, and

he goes. and to another come, and he comes. And

to this servant do this, and he does it. When

Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to those who followed, Assuredly,

I say to you. Let's see here. Uh-oh. My program

just went on the fix. Okay. When Jesus heard it,

he marveled and said to those who followed, Assuredly, I

say to you. I have not sound such great faith,

not even in Israel. And I say to you that

many will come from the east and the west and

will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the

kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will

be cast into the outer darkness. There will be weeping

and gnashing of teeth. Then Jesus said to the centurion,

Go your way. And as you have believed, so let

it be done for you. And his servant was healed

from that same hour. So you could literally extract this

from the narrative and you would never know it. You

would never know it was here. Now, if you're listening

in the archives and you're not a part of Maranatha Ministries,

you know that I've pointed this out for 16 years.

Matter of fact, I've given whole lectures having removed a

portion of Scripture, and the members didn't even know I

had done it until I brought it up to them.

Because you have to realize that everything is in its place,

and everything is only beautiful in its time. So now

I've brought it to your attention. Let's read those two

verses again. And I say to you that many will

come from east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac,

and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. Now take note.

He didn't mention anything about relationship. He is clearly talking

about Gentiles. Then he mentions the actual seed of Abraham.

But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out

into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing

of teeth. So, here's our first point of contact. You

must be born again. That's your first point of contact.

You must be born again. Regardless of whether you're a

Judaist or Or a Gentile. You must be born again.

It is preferred. For a Judaist. To be born again.

But take note. You must be born again. So. Take note.

This is all about authority. From top to bottom. And

Jesus is categorically. Letting himself. own disciples know you cannot

force your way into the kingdom of heaven. And who

your parents are is absolutely irrelevant. This is why Jesus marveled.

You understand? The centurion didn't say that this servant was

special because he was a centurion servant. He never said that.

That's not what he said. This is what he should

have done. He should have said because I am a

centurion you should heal my servant. That's not what he said.

The centurion said I realize that you can do whatever

you want to do because you have the authority to

do anything. More appropriately, you have the authority to do everything.

This is why Jesus marveled. And this is why Jesus

gave the reply that he gave. This centurion was saying,

even though I have rank, I am submitting myself to you.

And I'll prove that to you, for my station is

lower than you, so you may not come underneath my roof.

This meant something incredibly important to the Romans. And Jesus marveled.

And he gave this illustration. This is what's required. This

is what's required, not genetics. So, with that in mind, okay,

it's not the only time this outer darkness is mentioned.

And more appropriately, it's mentioned to the two passages that

I continually have been referring to over the past, oh,

I'd say month. Matthew chapter 22 and Matthew chapter 25.

This is the gospel truth. Okay? So we're going to

go to Matthew chapter 22 again. We're going to do

it again because, you know, we have to do this

because I just did other videos on this. But we

need to look at it in this light. These people

are going to be ejected from a private place. This

is what I need you to see. Okay? Take note.

Very word specific. And to those who know what is

to come. Because remember, you have to be born again.

in order to get the guarantee of the Holy Spirit.

That guarantee is that he will show you what is

to come. These are true things. So let's scrutinize it

one more time. He said, I say to you that

many will come from east and west and will sit

down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out

of this place. This is categorically not talking about heaven.

Take note. Literally, in the King James Version, let me

see if I can do this off the top of

my head. The kingdom of God is mentioned 69 times,

and the kingdom of heaven is mentioned 32 times. The

problem is, is that when you go back and forth

between certain verses in your cross-references, In two different places,

it will exchange them. Take note. You go to one gospel,

it'll say the kingdom of heaven. You go to the

other gospel, the same exact story, and it says the

kingdom of God. So you can prove beyond any shadow

of a doubt that these two things are tied together.

The point being this. This is not in heaven. And

he said east and west for a reason, people. There

is no east and west in heaven. So I need

you to latch on to that. This is not heaven.

The parable of the wedding feast. And Jesus answered and

spoke to them again by parables and said, The kingdom

of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a

marriage for his son. He sent out his servants to

call those who were invited to the wedding, and they

were not willing to come. Again he sent out other

servants saying, Tell those who are invited, see, I have

prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat cattle are killed,

and all things are ready, come to the wedding. But

they made light of it and went their ways, one

to his own farm, another to his business. And the

rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.

But when the king heard about it, He was furious

and he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers

and burned up their city. So let's take note. This

is all the prophecies fulfilled in 70 AD. And it

is incredible how people still cling to this nonsense that

all Judaists are going to be immediately converted in an

end run around the blood of the covenant. But this

is truly what upwards of half the church believes. They

were done in 70 AD. From that point forward, if

they do not accept the blood of the covenant, they

will mourn when they see him coming. And they're going

to mourn Wait for it. They're going to mourn from

the outer darkness. That's where they're going to mourn from.

Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready,

but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore, go

into the highways, and as many as you find, invite

to the wedding. So those servants went out into the

highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad

and good. and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

But when the king came in to see the guests,

he saw a man there who did not have on

a wedding garment. So he said to him, Friend, how

did you come in here without a wedding garment? And

he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants,

Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast

him into the outer darkness. There will be a weeping

and gnashing of teeth, for many are called, but few

are chosen. So, it's imperative that you begin to see

this place from Matthew chapter 8. Wherever this table is,

you need to know that there's one special table according

to the promises. Now, I'm not going to go to

a lengthy diatribe about it because those of you... who

are intimate with the word, you'll know it when I

say it. The most important table is the table that

God prepares for you in the wilderness. And I'll just

let that lie right there. So here we go again.

We have this outer darkness and a weeping and gnashing

of teeth that's going to be going on while everybody

else is sitting with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, that's

pretty key critical that you're able to see this. That

you're able to understand that this outer darkness is not

the lake of fire. It's not the lake of fire.

It is called something in association with fire. But it's

not the lake of fire. So, now we're going to

have to head on over to Matthew chapter 25, where

we see this outer darkness. Again, this is a parable

everybody is familiar with. And I've read this many times. times.

And.

I'm not going to read the entire thing. I'm just

going to read what is pertinent to the outer darkness. So.

This one, too, just gets your attention. It really does

get your attention. But I'm going to pick it up

here in verse 24. I would urge you, after you

partake of this Bible lesson, you go read the first

24 verses. But I'm going to pick it up in

verse 24. Then he who had received the one talent

came and said, Lord, I knew you to be a

hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering

where you have not scattered. And I was afraid, and

I went and hid your talent in the ground. Look,

there you have what is yours. But the Lord answered

and said to him, You wicked and lazy servants, you

knew that I reap where I have not sown. and

I gather why I have not scattered seed. So you

ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and

at my coming I would have received back my own

with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give

it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone

who has more will be given, and he will have abundance.

But from him who does not have, even what he

has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant

into the outer darkness, there will be weeping and gnashing

of teeth. So, here you have another aspect of this.

Now we've got people from the East and the West,

and just like the foolish virgins, They come up short.

The foolish virgins were lacking oil. This foolish servant was

lacking interest. And there's a great lesson in that that

we don't have time for today. That we don't have

time for today. But you need to understand there is

a great deal of information there. this difference between oil

and interest. You need to consider that. So, there's also

other phrases incorporated into this that you need to know

and understand. Take note, you had this gnashing of teeth

repeatedly mentioned in the text. Now, that phrase is coupled

with another phrase repeatedly in Matthew chapter 13. And here, wow,

we're going to expand upon it because it says this

translation that we're going to read is wailing and gnashing

of teeth in one place, in two different places, and

then Another place it's weeping. But anyway, you get the point,

regardless of the translation. We're going to get over to

Matthew chapter 13. And take note. Well, this is about

Matthew 13 · chapter mention

the parable of the tares. We're not going to talk

about the actual tares. We're not going to go through

that at all. We're going to concentrate on the explanation.

Because I have at length, just like the parable of

the wedding banquet, just like the parable of the virgins,

I've talked about the parable of the tares and wheat repeatedly.

But herein lies some exegesis that you're probably not aware of.

Because Here it's going to give something you're just... I

don't know, when I've done this in the class, I

have really enjoyed the expressions of the students. Because they're like,

wait a minute. Amen. The parable of the tares explained.

Matthew 13, starting in verse 36. Then Jesus sent the

multitude away and went to the house. And his disciples

came to him saying, Explain to us the pair of

the tares of the field. He answered and said to them,

He who sows the good seed is the son of man.

The field is the world. The good seeds are the

sons of the kingdom. But the tares are the sons

of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is

the devil. And the harvest is the end of the age.

and the reapers are the angels. Therefore, as the tares

are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will

be at the end of the age. The Son of

Man will send out his angels, and they will gather

out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those

who practice lawlessness. Let me pause right there. Exegetically speaking...

if you weren't aware of the problem, well, I usually

say it a different way. I usually say, if you

need a hint, that means you don't have a clue.

And it's pretty important that you understand that he just

said that his kingdom had been afore established. That's what

he just said. He said they was going to go

gather out of, His kingdom. All those. Who practice lawlessness.

So take note. So this is before the millennial reign.

Is he going to throw them into the lake of

fire right now? Verse 42. And will cast them into

the furnace. Of fire. there will be a weeping and

gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as

the sun in the kingdom of their father. He who

has ears, let him hear. Okay.

Huh.

Huh. So, this is really talking exactly like the parable

of the wedding feast. Right? Right? All the guests... Were

in the... Banquet hall... And this one that was caught... Without... Garments...

Was cast out of the... Wedding hall... Into the outer darkness...

And there in the outer darkness... There's a weeping and

gnashing of teeth... Because it's a... Furnace of fire... Now...

Those two words put together biblically should mean something to you.

They should really mean something to you. Because this is

not the lake of fire. Okay? Do not be misled. Okay?

Don't be misled. If Jesus Christ meant the lake of fire,

he would have said... the lake of fire. So let

that sink in. Let that sink in what was just said.

He didn't say lake of fire. He said furnace of fire.

He said furnace of fire. And if you keep reading,

he says that again down in verse 50. He says

it again down in verse 50. He does so in

the parable of the dragnet. This is twice in one chapter,

two different parables. He says the same thing. So let's

read this. So picking it up in verse 47, once

again of Matthew chapter 13. Again, the kingdom of heaven

is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea

and gathered some of every kind, which when it was full,

they drew it to shore. And they sat down and

gathered the good into vessels. but threw the bad away.

So it will be at the end of the age.

The angels will come forth and separate the wicked from

the just and cast them into the furnace of fire.

There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Jesus said

to them, Have you understood these things? They said to him, Yes, Lord.

Then he said to them, Therefore, every scribe instructed concerning

the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings

out of his treasure things new and old. Well, isn't

that the most grandiose riddle of them all? Isn't that

the most grandiose riddle of them all? I mean, verse

52 is a treasure in itself. but it is concerning

this thing because this thing is very clear. That once

you scrutinize all these verses, once you scrutinize all these

texts and literally tear these texts apart, if you have

a greater understanding, more importantly, if you've been taught what

is to come, this makes sense. this makes perfect sense,

that he is saying, oh, they're going to a place

of darkness, okay, a place that's burning, right? Of course,

we know these categorically from other things, right? I mean,

We know these things will happen during the Great Tribulation. Yes,

we do. Yes, we do. I mean, it doesn't take

an expert to figure out that specifically this is the

Fifth Bull Judgment. I'll read it for you. Then the

fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of

the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness. And

they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. Now, That's

a verse of verses, isn't it? It really is. And

not only that, it makes you realize when you're familiar

with the text, it's also talking about, well, something Very notorious.

Revelation chapter 9 verse 6. In those days men will

seek death and will not find it. They will desire

to die and death will flee from them. These things,

the weeping and the gnashing of teeth because you can't

die is right here. It's exactly right here. I mean,

when you know to put two and two and two together,

makes perfectly sense. Maybe you put together Revelation chapter 9

Revelation 9:6

verse 6 with Revelation chapter 16 verse 10. Now you

Revelation 16:10

know why this is not the lake of fire. And

Surely everybody's done a word search on furnace and fire.

I mean, surely. I mean, surely.

Because God gives, I mean, this is part of a

specific promise, actually. It's actually a part of the Apocalypse

of Isaiah.

And I've given several lessons on that. But let me

read it to you again. Because he's going to come

out and tell you something. He shall cross over to

his stronghold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid

of the banner, says the Lord, whose fire... is in Zion,

and whose furnace is in Jerusalem. Yeah, that was always there.

And yes, we can talk about the excruciatingly easy one.

But of course, surely you all know of Daniel chapter 3. Shadrach, Meshach,

Daniel 3 · chapter mention

and Abednego. And surely you've put those three names together

with Ezekiel chapter 14. What, you have? I mean, seriously?

Ezekiel 14 · chapter mention

Am I taking you by surprise? Okay, let's just read

the verses, okay? So, this is what Ezekiel chapter... 14

is about, actually. Okay? It is stating... Well, let me

just read these verses. So, Ezekiel 14, 14.

Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were

in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,

says the Lord.

Down in verse 20. Even though Noah, Daniel, and Job

were in it, as I live, says the Lord... they

would deliver neither son nor daughter. They would deliver only

themselves by their righteousness. Yeah. You should probably know that

these two sets of three names... are linked to the same.

Matter of fact, the first part of Ezekiel chapter 14

tells you exactly what happens with the false prophet. Tells

you exactly. Comes right out and tells you exactly. It

also comes out and tells you about God's four severe judgments,

which is seal one, two, three, and four. So, through these,

the best way to relay this information is the way

Jesus related it first. It was very simple and very categorical.

Very easy in Matthew chapter 8. I mean, those two

verses are magical. This is not talking about heaven. It's not.

It says... And I say to you that many will

come from east and west. Now take note. He is

talking to 12 disciples. They are the physical relation of Abraham, Isaac,

You're supposed to say Israel, but that's not what it says.

It says Jacob. Anyway. And I say to you that

many will come from east and west and sit down

with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out

into the outer darkness. There will be a weeping and

gnashing of teeth. This is not talking about you being

in heaven And... the Judaist being in the lake of fire.

One thing's for sure. Jesus never said this was Hades.

He never said they were dead. So this outer darkness,

which is associated with the weeping and gnashing of teeth,

which is associated with the furnace of fire, you should

probably know that if God intends to set up a

place for you, the rest of the planet will be

in a world of hurt. Now, you probably need to

be told this up front. During the Great Tribulation, the

outer darkness won't be inhabitable. It will kill you. But

those who practice, this is what he said, those who

practice lawlessness, he's going to order death to flee from you.

So you're going to live in an uninhabitable environment. While

the wheat, okay, is in his barn. Now that's just

what he said. Okay, that's what he said. He calls

it his barn. But as you can see here today,

he's called it many things. So during the Great Tribulation,

we are going to be taken to this place that

he prepares for us. Why do the angels have to

carry this out? Why? Well, ladies and gentlemen, did you

know that their Are Christians in Ireland? I'm serious as

a heart attack. Did you know there's Christians in Great Britain?

There's also Christians in Canada. There's Christians in New Zealand.

There's Christians in Australia. There's even Christians in America, if

you can believe that. Well, how are we all supposed

to be gathered to this table? We have to be

taken to one location. We're all not in Egypt right now.

We all just can't get together and leave Babylon, can we?

We're scattered over across the whole entire planet. So, of course,

the angels have to take you to his barn. And

that's exactly... What he says. This is a true statement.

Let's go back to Matthew chapter 13. Because I didn't

read that part. I read to you the explanation of it.

So I'm going to state with authority. This table. This table.

That we're going to go to. Where Abraham, Isaac and

Jacob is. It's in the barn. Yes it is. This

table is in the barn. That is. Matthew chapter 13.

Verse 30. Let both grow together. Until the harvest. And

at the time of the harvest. I will say to

the reapers. First gather together the tares. And bind them

in bundles. To burn them. but gather the wheat into

my barn. So this here table from Matthew chapter 8,

God sets this table up in his barn. That's a

gospel truth right there. That's a gospel truth, what I

just said. Now take note. He said that he binds

the tares into bundles. That is done with the mark

of the beast. That's how he binds them together. Take note.

They're not cast into the lake of fire right then.

It says. To burn them. Look ladies and gentlemen. You're supposed. Look.

You are supposed to know. Okay. That. This is pretty important.

You're supposed to understand that... He read... I mean, he

says this so many times... It's actually... It's preposterous... If

you claim to be... An expert in Bible prophecy... And

you don't know this. That's preposterous. If you don't know this.

That you're going to be taken... To this segregated place...

why everybody else is under extreme discomfort. I mean, if

what you think is true, he would not have taken

the guest without wedding garment and threw him outside the

banquet hall. He would have thrown him into the fire.

not what it says. That's not what Jesus Christ meant.

The five foolish virgins. They should have been chucked into

the fire right along with the guest without a wedding garment, right?

They weren't. They were left out in the out of

the darkness where there will be a weeping and a

gnashing of teeth. So, let me ask you this again.

How many times have you heard from the pulpit, or

from the Sunday school classroom at church, how many times

have you heard, this is talking about hell? Because at

this point, there is no hell. You do understand that?

At the return of Christ, no, no, no, no, no.

They don't go to Hades. Hades. The beast and the

false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire. Let's not...

Don't contest that. Right? So... I hope you learned something.

I hope those of you... Um... that believe something different,

that are on either side of the church, because there's

a left and a right side. My wife's been talking

about it on our Bible studies, been talking about it here.

There's a left and a right side of the church.

This is common knowledge. If this has confused you, there's

a reason why. I hope it produces ontological shock. I

hope that it produces in you. Such a level of

shock that. You've been lied to your whole life. That

it snaps you out of it. But that's all I

can hope. I can't. I can't hope any. Farther than that. So.
