  1. I believe if God has created us to be

  2. who he's created us to be and if God is

  3. creating in us to become who he's

  4. leading us to be then there's some areas

  5. that we need to make sure that we get

  6. right. There's always I never drift in

  7. my life towards good. I always will find

  8. when I lose intentionality that I begin

  9. to drift towards my flesh, towards sin,

  10. towards the way that whatever which way

  11. the world is pushing me or pulling me in

  12. that moment. And I want for this church

  13. to see what God has done to be increased

  14. double, triple, 30, 60, and 100fold.

  15. Amen.

  16. >> Amen. So, one one thing I think we got

  17. to get right is I I want to make sure

  18. that we're stepping into this series.

  19. It's called Hunting Phoenix. And it's

  20. this concept of defeating the sin that

  21. keeps on coming back. If you know what

  22. I'm talking about, defeating whe this

  23. this may be struggles that you've had in

  24. your life. This may be a ceiling you

  25. find you keep hitting again and again

  26. and again. But here's the reality.

  27. This is it. This series will be

  28. beneficial. We'll bless every single one

  29. of those. But it's really

  30. it's it's pinpoint accuracy is this

  31. whole series is all about the enemy's

  32. strongholds in our life. And the areas

  33. where we keep coming against the same

  34. thing. I know you guys I I I I'm sure

  35. you've experienced it. I know I've

  36. experienced it in my life. the number of

  37. times that I I'm going through something

  38. and I'm starting to and and I'm like,

  39. Lord, WHY IS IT THIS WAY? WHY DOES THIS

  40. PERSON WHY WHY WHY DO I FEEL SO HURT BY

  41. THIS? OR WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT? OR

  42. GOD, I'M JUST SO TIRED. OR LORD, MY

  43. FAITH FEELS so weak or whatever it may

  44. be or WHY THE SAME PROBLEM THAT HAS

  45. HAPPENED AND THEN he speaks something

  46. and it's like, hey, I need you to trust

  47. me. Or, hey, I'm I'm I'm in this. Just

  48. come to me. Surrender to me. whether

  49. whether it's like stop doing this on

  50. your own, go to someone else and and

  51. they will encourage you and lift you up.

  52. And I go, "Oh yeah, that's not the first

  53. time you've told me that.

  54. Oh yeah, IT'S THE THIS IS THE SAME

  55. THING. It's the same solution. It's the

  56. same problem. It's the same attack that

  57. the enemy is bringing against us because

  58. the Lord is creator.

  59. But everything he creates, the enemy

  60. likes to twist and warp and disguise and

  61. deceive. And this is where I want to

  62. talk about a lot. This series applies

  63. for every single one of us here. It

  64. applies talking about these things that

  65. keep coming back. Maybe it looks like

  66. addiction.

  67. And for you, when I when I say

  68. addiction, especially during the series,

  69. I don't want us thinking about, "Oh,

  70. well, I don't know. I got a drug

  71. problem." Good. Praise the Lord. I'm so

  72. glad. Maybe you do. Praise the Lord that

  73. you're here. Amen. Right.

  74. >> Here's the reality. I want us to

  75. realizing that there's a lot of

  76. addictions that this world has and

  77. sometimes this world deems them

  78. acceptable

  79. and we got to release those. So maybe it

  80. might be drugs. It might be alcohol. It

  81. might be just that next relationship.

  82. It might be just scrolling again and

  83. again and again. It might be games on my

  84. phone or it might be Netflix or it might

  85. be what is that thing that when I'm

  86. stressed out, when I'm overwhelmed and I

  87. go, where do I lean? WHAT DO I FALL BACK

  88. ON? HOW DO I FIND HOPE? HOW DO I FIND

  89. REST? Where does my heart go? Where does

  90. my flesh go? That is my addiction.

  91. Maybe it's pornography.

  92. Maybe it's that next relationship. Maybe

  93. it's that ideal that maybe it's your

  94. job. Maybe it's money. These are not all

  95. of these are bad things, right?

  96. Some of these are even good things. God

  97. created us to work. But the reality is

  98. is that I can then turn that into an

  99. idol and make that an addiction of my

  100. soul when reality is I was created not

  101. to lean on things of this world but to

  102. lean into God. Amen.

  103. >> To lean into who he is to what he's

  104. doing. So this may this may look like an

  105. outward addiction. It may even look like

  106. internal struggles that you have.

  107. Whether it's heart tendencies like

  108. pursuing bad relationships, right?

  109. Whether it's unforgiveness,

  110. maybe it's mental illness stuff that

  111. just keeps on coming back in the same

  112. old way. And here's where here here's

  113. where I want to say this series is I

  114. believe is going to be lifechanging. I

  115. truly believe I believe that there's

  116. some people that need this series that

  117. aren't in this room yet and that you may

  118. have. It's easy to go, "Oh, I know

  119. someone who needs this."

  120. It's a little harder to go, "Oh, wait. I

  121. need this." And to admit that, amen.

  122. It's a little harder to do that. Both of

  123. those may be true. And I want to

  124. encourage you guys, that person in your

  125. life that like, "Hey, I think I I think

  126. at my church or maybe this church I went

  127. to on Sunday has something that this

  128. series may be a blessing to you. Would

  129. you want to come with me? I believe that

  130. this is something that God wants to do

  131. and he wants to multiply. But in this

  132. series, I will say we're going to be

  133. talking about real things. We're going

  134. to be talking about real sin. And so,

  135. it's not going to be rated R by any

  136. means, but we're going to be talking

  137. about real things. And we got an amazing

  138. kids ministry. So, I want to encourage

  139. you guys if you got kids that love to

  140. join you in worship, we got one of uh

  141. our our kids love to jump in. and our

  142. daughter especially will be like, "Can I

  143. jump in for worship and then go back and

  144. check in the kids?" So, we check her in.

  145. We have her with us for a little bit and

  146. then we send her back after a couple

  147. minutes of worship together. But the but

  148. this is this is where I want to

  149. encourage us that we can have real

  150. conversation.

  151. We're going to have real sermons talking

  152. about real issues in life. And we're

  153. going to talk about it and we're not

  154. going to be ashamed. We're not going to

  155. be afraid. We're going to be overcomers.

  156. Amen. Amen. Amen. So, I believe

  157. collective church, if he's going to send

  158. us forward into his plan, he's going to

  159. be sending us in freedom.

  160. >> And I don't want strongholds to be taken

  161. hold of our lives. And every single one

  162. of us has an area that the enemy is

  163. continuing to beat the door down slowly

  164. but surely. And so we're going to talk,

  165. scripture talks about a whole bunch of

  166. different ways to be able to battle and

  167. overcome these types of things. And

  168. we're going to do kind of a bit of a

  169. study on this over the next few weeks.

  170. But a phoenix, if we're talking about

  171. phoenix, hunting phoenix, typically,

  172. y'all ever heard the story of the

  173. phoenix, right? The firebird that flies

  174. around and then at a at a certain time

  175. it builds a nest. It lays down in the

  176. nest, it burns up, and it dies. and it

  177. creates this this this pile of ash. And

  178. from within that ash, a new phoenix,

  179. that same phoenix is reborn. And we're

  180. kind of flipping this on its head where

  181. the phoenix is that thing that is like,

  182. wait a second, I beat that. I already

  183. conquered that sin. I already dealt with

  184. that temptation. I ALREADY FOUGHT THAT

  185. FIGHT. WHY IS THIS COMING BACK AGAIN? I

  186. ALREADY FORGAVE that person. Why do I

  187. feel this within me again? I already

  188. healed from that trauma. Why do I feel

  189. so stirred up again in this? Why does it

  190. seem like it owns me again? It's that

  191. same fiery substance that just is coming

  192. back and rearing its ugly head again.

  193. And in the same way that phoenix, a

  194. phoenix is often presented as actually a

  195. really good thing, the world and and

  196. rebirth itself is a biblical concept.

  197. Did you know uh Nicodemus, a Pharisee

  198. who his whole group of friends and all

  199. his fellow colleagues and studious

  200. religious leaders hated Jesus. And

  201. there's one of them named Nicodemus that

  202. came to Jesus at night and he's like,

  203. this is in John 3. This is where we get

  204. John 3:16 where Jesus is talking to him.

    John 3:16

  205. And this is he he comes and he goes,

  206. "Listen, I don't I I'm I'm trying to

  207. figure this thing out about you and I'm

  208. not sure what to do. And so I'm coming

  209. at night and it's a little bit secret

  210. and a little bit like how do I how do I

  211. like who are you? What do I do? How do I

  212. respond to this?" because I see that

  213. we're just a lot of my friends are just

  214. angry at you, but I see through that

  215. anger and I see that there's actually a

  216. truth that you're holding.

  217. And Jesus says to him in John 3:3, he

    John 3:3

  218. says, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless

  219. one is born

  220. again,

  221. born a second time, he cannot see the

  222. kingdom of God." So he asked him about

  223. the kingdom of God. And and Jesus is

  224. like, "You got to be born again. It's a

  225. rebirth."

  226. And the world has a version of rebirth.

  227. This phoenix, this idea of what the

  228. world says, oh, just here's how you

  229. start over, right? This is the this, you

  230. probably heard it, maybe you've said it,

  231. right? It's like the listen, I just need

  232. a minute. I need to pull back. I need to

  233. step back. I just need to focus on me. I

  234. need to restart. I need to redefine

  235. myself. What is this going to look like?

  236. I need to I need to pull back from my

  237. job. Listen, my job is just I I'm I'm

  238. going to I'm going to pull back. I'm

  239. going to give less. I'm going to try

  240. less. You know what? actually my my my

  241. job is the problem. I need to quit my

  242. job. I need to move away. I need to

  243. break up with my significant other. I

  244. need to I need to restart. I'm going to

  245. change my style. I'm going to change my

  246. hair color. I'm going to change whatever

  247. it may be. I'm going to redefine myself.

  248. And here's the problem. When you start

  249. over by focusing on you, you are

  250. actually amplifying the big problem.

  251. Because I don't know what problems

  252. you've faced in your life, but I

  253. guarantee you the common denominator in

  254. every single one of them is that you're

  255. involved in it.

  256. I am the problem. I am not my solution.

  257. I am my problem. And so rebirth

  258. according to Jesus when he says you must

  259. be born again looks less like I redefine

  260. me. And it looks more like in Matthew

    Matthew 16:24–25

  261. 16:24-25

  262. when Jesus says, "If anyone wants to be

  263. my disciple, if he wants to follow me,

  264. this is how you do it. I want to follow

  265. Jesus." Amen. Right? Anybody else with

  266. me?

  267. >> Come on. Amen. Deny yourself.

  268. Take up your cross, which is not just

  269. like wear your cross necklace. This is

  270. like that didn't have any sign of hope

  271. in that time. That was a sign of

  272. oppression and death and persecution.

  273. and the most the the most public

  274. gruesome way to die.

  275. Take up your cross

  276. and follow me. Whoever would try to save

  277. his life is actually going to lose it.

  278. Whatever who loses his life for my sake,

  279. that is how you find it. So rebirth in

  280. Christ is actually not about redefining

  281. me. It's about dying to me.

  282. I've actually got to not fight to change

  283. me. I've got to surrender

  284. to him.

  285. >> Right? It it it's going to look less

  286. like pulling away and more like leaning

  287. into the right things.

  288. >> And I may have to pull away from some

  289. things, but it's not about isolation. I

  290. just need to I just need to focus more

  291. on me. I just need to be me. I just need

  292. to take time. Yeah, kind of. But maybe

  293. you're the Lord is saying you what you

  294. need is to serve others

  295. and to not work for your own income and

  296. you're finding how hollow that is to

  297. just work for the sake of power for

  298. money for because it's just what I'm

  299. supposed to do to be a good member of

  300. society. I don't know why I'm doing this

  301. and the pointlessness of it all is

  302. rising up and he's like I actually I got

  303. a purpose for you.

  304. But it's going to take dying to

  305. yourself.

  306. is going to look like spending more time

  307. in prayer, letting God change your

  308. heart,

  309. maybe actually giving more generously of

  310. your time and money, changing your

  311. habits, cutting out sin, building strong

  312. Christian friendships, renewing your

  313. mind. There's a lot of these things that

  314. we're going to be talking about

  315. throughout this series of how do I

  316. actually defeat this thing? How do I

  317. actually see this old thing inside of me

  318. get conquered? And I get to go on to new

  319. ground. I get to go and have new

  320. problems,

  321. right? I'm okay with problems. I'm

  322. always going to have problems. I don't

  323. want the same old problems every time,

  324. >> right? I want I want a new problem. I

  325. want to conquer ground and I want to

  326. find every new level has a new devil.

  327. And I want to find a new monster, a new

  328. giant that I got to slay, not the same

  329. old one. So this is what the world says.

  330. World says rebirth looks like I work, I

  331. fight, I try and I will make myself into

  332. who I want to be.

  333. This is made in my own image.

  334. And then I have godly rebirth. I

  335. surrender. I die. I give up. I deny

  336. myself. And I let him shape me into he

  337. has created me to be.

  338. >> The creator defines the purpose of the

  339. creation. And if I want to figure out

  340. who I am, I look to him.

  341. Not for my own personal gain and to

  342. affirm all the things that I felt about

  343. myself, but to actually lay those things

  344. down and to let him do the great work on

  345. my heart that I've always needed. This

  346. is Colossians 3:3. When we're described,

    Colossians 3:3

  347. he he talks to believers and he says,

  348. "You died. You have already died and

  349. your old life is hidden under Christ.

  350. The blood of Christ has covered him. The

  351. blood of Christ has covered her. The

  352. blood of Christ has covered you in all

  353. your mess, all your past. So why do I

  354. have why is death the key to rebirth?

  355. Here's the reason why. Because I

  356. can't.

  357. because I can't.

  358. I think one of the most important steps

  359. that we need in the first step, there's

  360. a lot of really important ones. I think

  361. there's a couple that are going to be

  362. really challenging and extraordinarily

  363. lifechanging in this series, but the

  364. first step has to come with this

  365. admittance that I can't. I am not. I'm

  366. not capable. I'm not able to. I've

  367. conquered this thing. I keep fighting

  368. this fiery bird and it keeps just being

  369. reborn. How do I How do I fight this

  370. thing that just keeps stirring back up?

  371. I conquer it for years even and then it

  372. rises again. I just got a little lazy

  373. for a little bit and then it starts

  374. stirring back up in my heart. I had this

  375. addiction beat. And guys, I'm speaking

  376. from I'm speaking from I'm going to be

  377. sharing testimonies from my life. I'm

  378. we're going to be sharing testimonies

  379. from other people's lives about what

  380. this looks like throughout this series

  381. of OF LIKE AH I HAD THAT THING BEAT. Why

  382. when I see them or I hear that testimony

  383. again or that that that a story about

  384. them again does that same anger and

  385. hatred stir up in me. I thought I'd let

  386. that go.

  387. How can I conquer this thing? The

  388. Apostle Paul has this exact same problem

  389. in Romans chapter nine. In chapter

  390. seven, he says, "I know. I know. I've

  391. lived with myself long enough. Nothing

  392. good lives in me. There's nothing that

  393. is in my flesh. That is in my sinful

  394. nature. For the desire to do what is

  395. good is with me. I wish I could. I want

  396. to do good. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT I'M

  397. TALKING ABOUT? I want to do good, but I

  398. also like some sins. I also like some of

  399. these struggles. I also am a little

  400. afraid of letting go of that thing. And

  401. I'm also I don't I I feel like I need to

  402. hang that thing over their head because

  403. who else is going to hold them

  404. accountable for what they've done to me,

  405. what they've done to others? I I desire

  406. to do what is good and it's within me,

  407. but there's no ability to do it. I keep

  408. finding myself stuck in the SAME THING.

  409. FOR I DO NOT DO THE GOOD THING THAT I

  410. WANT TO DO, BUT I PRACTICE THE EVIL

  411. THINGS THAT I DON'T WANT TO DO.

  412. >> This is the Apostle Paul speaking.

  413. If he can't figure it out, maybe it's

  414. okay that I'm still in process. Amen.

  415. >> And then he says this. I love this. Oh,

  416. what a wretched man I am. I see my sin

  417. in light of him. Oh, I am so wretched.

  418. Who will RESCUE ME FROM THIS BODY of

  419. death?

  420. If that's your prayer that you go, "Oh,

  421. I relate to that. I've been there. I may

  422. be there right now and I feel this

  423. limitation within me.

  424. Jesus talks about it as he shares about

  425. a parable of the tax collector and the

  426. sinner. And the tax collector says, "Oh,

  427. I'm so glad." Or the the the Pharisee

  428. goes, "Oh, I'm so glad I'm not like this

  429. wretched, evil, terrible tax collector

  430. and that I'm holy, righteous, and good

  431. and and and I've got it all figured

  432. out." And instead, the tax collector,

  433. Luke 18:13, says this.

    Luke 18:13

  434. Says, "The tax collector standing far

  435. off wouldn't even lift up his eyes to

  436. heaven."

  437. But he beats his chest.

  438. He says, "God, would you please have

  439. mercy on me? I'm a sinner.

  440. I am [music]

  441. so broken."

  442. You know, a place that I think gets this

  443. [music] idea really, really well,

  444. way better than almost any church I've

  445. ever been in.

  446. It's an organization that's been going

  447. on for a very long time. Many of you

  448. have heard of it. Some of you have been

  449. there. It's called AA, Alcoholics

  450. Anonymous, NA. [music]

  451. There's a there's there's these

  452. organizations where you you come in and

  453. and and and your whole goal is you

  454. introduce yourself with this idea of

  455. have mercy on me. I'm a sinner.

  456. Hi, my name is Drew and I'm an

  457. alcoholic.

  458. And because alcoholism [music] is

  459. recognized as a problem,

  460. there's not a there's not a society for

  461. people. Hi, my name is Drew and I'm

  462. addicted to my screen.

  463. Hi, my name is Drew and I [music] can't

  464. stop myself from holding this grudge

  465. over the people that have done me wrong.

  466. Hi, my name is Drew

  467. and I don't know how to overcome the

  468. traumas [music] that I've experienced in

  469. my life. Hi, my name is Drew

  470. and I love the weaknesses that I have

  471. because they're my excuse for all other

  472. time convictions and problems that I

  473. have and I have [music] a problem

  474. actually hanging on to those and letting

  475. those define me.

  476. If you've ever been to an AA meeting,

  477. you may have come out

  478. saying the same thing that I've heard

  479. from many people.

  480. That felt more like church than the

  481. church that I've [music] been to.

  482. Why can't the church be more like an AA

  483. meeting?

  484. You want to know why?

  485. Because when we come to church,

  486. way too many of us

  487. are going,

  488. "Lord, I thank you that I'm not like the

  489. people I drove by on the way to church

  490. today. [music] I thank you I'm not like

  491. my bad co-workers. I thank you that I've

  492. got this thing figured out when they've

  493. got it all messed up."

  494. Lord, I thank you that I get to come in

  495. here and I get to stand holy, righteous

  496. before you. Yes, we do. But not because

  497. of us. Because I [music]

  498. am not.

  499. When I fight this thing, I recognize I'm

  500. not capable.

  501. When I look [music] to who I am, when I

  502. look to the good things around me, when

  503. I look to the blessings, it's not

  504. because of me.

  505. And the [music] problem we often have

  506. actually with why why the church doesn't

  507. look like an AA [music] meeting is

  508. because

  509. we just want to clean up a little bit a

  510. little bit more. And I'm I don't want to

  511. come as a sinner because in Christ I'm

  512. saved. Amen. I've been made righteous.

  513. I've been made holy. My sin is covered

  514. by his blood. But the reality is I may

  515. got some stuff that I'm dealing with.

  516. And so I kind of ignore this side to

  517. stand over here.

  518. I'm a sinner saved by grace. I'm a

  519. sinner who needs his mercy

  520. and I'm I must become [music]

  521. desperate. The first step

  522. is to admit that I'm not enough.

  523. Many of us have an [music] attitude

  524. and a tendency to say but

  525. but I

  526. I would change. I'd overcome that

  527. addiction. I'd stop that thing. I know I

  528. I I I kicked that bad habit, but I need

  529. it. But I didn't have the upbringing

  530. that you did, Pastor Drew. So, it's not

  531. as easy for me. But I am not able to

  532. because YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE TRAUMA

  533. I'VE DEALT WITH. But I don't know how

  534. to. But I've tried before.

  535. And here's where here's where I want to

  536. flip this because I am weak. I am in

  537. need. I am not. I am not capable. I am

  538. not able. I cannot defeat this thing on

  539. my own. The enemy is way bigger than

  540. you. The enemy is way stronger than you.

  541. The enemy has a power that is greater

  542. than you on your own. Ephesians 6:12

    Ephesians 6:12

  543. says, "We are not fighting against flesh

  544. [music] and blood. We are fighting

  545. against rulers and principalities and

  546. [music] powers in the heavenly places."

  547. That's a big deal. That's bigger than

  548. me.

  549. But it's not bigger than Christ in me.

  550. And so I want to I want to switch this

  551. from but I to but God. [music]

  552. But God can.

  553. I'm not CAPABLE OF THIS. BUT I KNOW GOD

  554. CAN. I don't EVEN REALLY WANT TO

  555. OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM IN ME. BUT GOD CAN

  556. SHIFT my heart TO BEGIN TO DESIRE THE

  557. THINGS THAT I DON'T EVEN YET DESIRE.

  558. I am not but he is.

  559. [screaming]

  560. Do you know the name for God Yahweh? Do

  561. you know what that means?

  562. Means he is.

  563. >> He says this is my name. [music] My name

  564. is I am. And so what do we say? We don't

  565. call him I am. We call him he is. He is.

  566. He's capable. He can overcome. He can

  567. defeat this. And so my first step, if we

  568. can stand up in here, what I want to do

  569. here is our very first step is to come

  570. broken, to come empty, to come sick and

  571. to come as a [music] sinner. That's my

  572. very first step. I come weak.

  573. Why?

  574. Because if I come strong, then I don't

  575. need him to strengthen me.

  576. and I end up with my strength, which is

  577. I find out [music]

  578. as good as I think it may be, it's

  579. pretty weak.

  580. I come [music] broken so he can put me

  581. together.

  582. I come sick so he can heal me.

  583. I come empty

  584. so I may be filled with his spirit. And

  585. so if collective, if we are going to be

  586. anything,

  587. if we are going to see this next five

  588. years and beyond to be what I know God

  589. wants us to become, we must come weak so

  590. that he may make us strong. And so what

  591. I want to do is I want to invite

  592. any of us, all of us that say, "I'm

  593. coming [music] weak. I'm coming broken.

  594. I'm coming in need. If that's you, come

  595. on forward. [music] Come forward. If

  596. you're desperate, come forward if you

  597. want him. Come forward. If you go, I am

  598. not enough and I'm in desperate need of

  599. him. Come forward IF MAYBE YOU GOT A SIN

  600. THAT YOU'RE LIKE, I WANT TO see this

  601. overcome. [music] Come forward if you

  602. got a flesh issue that you're like, I

  603. will see God move in this. Come forward

  604. if you just refuse to stand in your own

  605. strength. Come forward if you want his

  606. story over your story. Come forward IF

  607. YOU SAY, "GOD, I'M coming weak." Come

  608. forward if you say, "God, I'm coming

  609. sick and I need your healing." Come

  610. forward if you're saying, "God, I am

  611. empty and I need to be filled by you."

  612. Come on. I believe that that should be

  613. all of us in this room. Heavenly Father,

  614. I pray in this room right now. Would you

  615. build our desperation? We are not okay

  616. with where we are. We come to you not

  617. righteous, but broken so that you can

  618. make us righteous. Father God, we come

  619. to you not holy but hurting, Lord, so

  620. that you can heal us. Father God, we

  621. come to you not full, but empty so that

  622. you may fill us. Father God, I pray that

  623. our greatest strength at Collective

  624. Church may be our passion and our

  625. desperation for needing you in every

  626. avenue of our lives. [music]

  627. May we be a church. May we be a church

  628. that stirs up a greater [music] faith

  629. within our own heart. May we be a church

  630. that continues to come and never lose

  631. our desperation. May we be a church that

  632. always comes [music] to a place where we

  633. come on our knees before you saying,

  634. "God, I need you.

  635. God, I'm nothing without you.

  636. [music] May we be a church that lets the

  637. simple things bring about the

  638. supernatural things and lets the

  639. ordinary [music] be brought to the feet

  640. of God so that he may do extraordinary

  641. things. Father God, I am not

  642. but he is but you are. And we declare

  643. [music] this in the mighty name of

  644. Jesus. Come on. If you believe it, come

  645. on. Would [music] you shout it to the

  646. Lord right now? Let's go. I want to do

  647. something.

  648. I want to do something because I believe

  649. God's doing some special things in this

  650. moment. I believe there's some of us in

  651. here that God's going to start breaking

  652. old strongholds. And this series is

  653. going to be lifechanging.

  654. It's going to be the same thing that

  655. maybe you've been a believer for a long

  656. time and you've just kind of lived with

  657. this and you're like, "Well, maybe

  658. that's not a thing that gets fixed in

  659. [music] this. Maybe I just have to live

  660. with this. And and the Lord's going,

  661. "No, no, no, no. I want to free [music]

  662. you from that."

  663. But I believe there's some of us in here

  664. who this is a new thing, a first time in

  665. a while or first time ever kind of thing

  666. going,

  667. "All right, Jesus,

  668. I'm going to surrender. I'm not going to

  669. fight for it [music] myself anymore. I'm

  670. going to surrender to you."

  671. And if you are giving, if you're s if

  672. you're in that place where you go, I'm

  673. surrendering my life for the first time

  674. ever, or maybe [music] for the first

  675. time in a long time, or maybe you just

  676. got questions about like, what would it

  677. look like to actually [music] dive in to

  678. this Jesus thing with everything I've

  679. got? Or maybe you're in the camp of

  680. going, [music] I did follow. I've been

  681. in this and I haven't been recently. And

  682. so, I'm going to reddedicate. I'm going

  683. to recommmit my life to Jesus. If you're

  684. in any of those boats, would you just

  685. throw your hand up? We want to [music]

  686. celebrate with you right now. Come on.

  687. Come on. I see you. Let's go. Keep your

  688. hand up high. Come on. Let's go. God's

  689. [music] got great things right back

  690. here. We got some people. We got a

  691. prayer team. We got some leaders with a

  692. lanyard. Keep Please keep your hand up

  693. because I don't want you to walk through

  694. this alone. [music] I promise you life

  695. will hand you things bigger than you can

  696. deal with on your own. And so please,

  697. what we want to do, we just want to hand

  698. you some resources. We want to bless

  699. you. If you need a Bible, we got a Bible

  700. for you. [music] If you need to go, I

  701. got a Bible, but I don't know how to

  702. read it. I don't know necessarily what

  703. to do. We got resources for you. You go,

  704. I don't know necessarily what steps to

  705. take. I just know God's calling me

  706. [music] to do something. We want to help

  707. you in that. We want to pray with you.

  708. So, I want to do this real quick.

  709. Everybody in this room, if your hands

  710. raised, this is especially for you.

  711. Everybody else, can we reach our hands

  712. out? And we're going to recommmit right

  713. here. Heavenly Father, I just pray in

  714. the mighty name of Jesus over every

  715. single one of us. Lord, we surrender our

  716. lives to you [music] again. We submit

  717. ourselves to you again. We say right

  718. now, we are no longer ours. I pray a

  719. death [music] to our flesh, a death to

  720. the old things. That it is not going to

  721. be the same way we've done [music] this.

  722. But Lord, we're going to not be good at

  723. fighting. We're going to be good at

  724. surrendering. Lord, I pray in the mighty

  725. name of Jesus, would you take our sin?

  726. Would you take [music] our mess? Would

  727. you take our brokenness? We come to you

  728. so we may receive your forgiveness. We

  729. may receive your cleansing. We come

  730. desperate and we'll see you move in the

  731. [music] mighty name of Jesus. All God's

  732. people said, "Amen." Amen. Come on, can

  733. we give a hand for the word of the Lord?

  734. He's doing great things.

  735. >> Hey, thanks so much for watching today's

  736. message. Our is more than the words that

  737. were spoken in the message that you

  739. to your heart.

  740. >> Yeah. No matter what it was that God

  741. spoke to you, I know that part of your

  742. journey is other people being in a
