  8. the description. Do I really know God, or do I

  9. only know things about Him? People learn Christian words, sing

  10. Christian songs, and hear Christian messages, yet their hearts still

  11. feel far away. They can say that God is good,

  12. but they are not sure they have ever tasted that

  13. goodness in the deep places of their story. They know

  14. they should pray, but their prayers feel dry. They hear

  15. about intimacy with God, but that word feels almost too strong,

  16. like it belongs to saints, pastors, or a few special people.

  17. If you have ever wondered why some believers seem to

  18. walk with God in a way that feels alive, while

  19. others stay stuck in the same cycles for years, this

  20. question matters. Why do some people move closer and closer

  21. to the heart of God, while others stay on the edges,

  22. even while sitting in the same church or reading the

  23. same Bible? From the first pages of Scripture, you see

  24. that God did not create people for distance. In the garden,

  25. God walked with Adam and Eve. Later, he spoke with

  26. Moses as a man speaks with a friend. In Jesus,

  27. he came near in human flesh, eating at tables, touching

  28. the sick, and calling people by name. From beginning to end,

  29. the story of the Bible can be seen as the

  30. story of a God who wants to be known. Yet

  31. intimacy with God does not grow by accident. It grows

  32. like a journey, step by step, level by level. Some

  33. people step onto the path and never move further. Others

  34. take a few steps and then turn back when the

  35. cost rises. A few keep going until their whole life

  36. belongs to God, in a way that both amazes and

  37. unsettles those around them. This message is about that journey.

  38. We will walk through seven levels of intimacy with God

  39. and face a simple question in each one. Where am

  40. I really with Him? These levels are not a game.

  41. They are not a ladder you climb to feel superior.

  42. They describe movements of the heart that Scripture shows again

  43. and again. At each level, you can choose to stay

  44. comfortable or to step closer. And the last level, the

  45. one that few reach, is where a person's life becomes

  46. so united with God's will that everything changes. The first

  47. level of intimacy with God is the level of the

  48. curious observer. This is where many people live for years.

  49. They know something about God, yet their heart still stands

  50. at a distance. At this level, a person may grow

  51. up hearing that God created the world, that Jesus died

  52. on the cross, that the Bible is important. They may

  53. sit in church, listen to sermons, or scroll past Bible

  54. verses online. They feel some respect for God, maybe even fear,

  55. but there is little personal connection. God is a topic,

  56. an idea, a presence in the background of life. You

  57. see this in the crowds that follow Jesus. Many watched

  58. his miracles, listened to his teaching, and were amazed. Yet

  59. they walked away when the moment ended. They knew that

  60. something powerful was happening in front of them, but they

  61. did not let it change them from the inside. The

  62. Apostle Paul spoke into a world full of religious curiosity.

  63. He described how God arranged history and the nations so

  64. that people would begin to search. He said that God

  65. did this so that people would seek him and perhaps

  66. reach out for him and find him. Though he is

  67. not far from any one of us, that is the

  68. reality of level one. God is near, but the person

  69. does not yet know him as near. This level can

  70. feel safe. You can talk about God without dealing with

  71. your heart. You can give opinions about churches, messages, and

  72. Christian issues without ever letting God point to your own sin, pain,

  73. and need. You can call yourself spiritual while keeping God

  74. outside the most hidden rooms of your soul. Yet even

  75. at this level, God is at work. A line from

  76. a sermon stays in your mind. A verse you once

  77. heard comes back during a hard night. A sense of

  78. emptiness grows, even when life looks full on the outside.

  79. This is God gently disturbing a person who stands on

  80. the edge. The danger of level one is that you

  81. can stay there a very long time. You can learn

  82. Christian language without ever meeting Christ. You can become an

  83. expert in Bible talk and still be a stranger to

  84. the one who spoke it. If you sense that God

  85. has mostly been a subject you observe from the outside,

  86. then hear the invitation in this first level. The Lord

  87. is already closer than you think He is stirring your

  88. curiosity so that you will seek more than ideas. He

  89. wants you to move from hearing about Him to searching

  90. for Him. The second level of intimacy is where curiosity

  91. turns into seeking. The person begins to feel a deeper restlessness.

  92. They start to ask questions that go beyond arguments. They

  93. are no longer satisfied with second-hand faith. At this level,

  94. you may begin with simple, honest prayers. God, if you

  95. are real, show me. Help me understand. You may open

  96. a Bible on your own for the first time and

  97. read slowly, wondering if these words could speak into your

  98. present situation. You may start to ask other believers about

  99. their experience of God, not as theory, but as reality.

  100. God speaks directly to this seeking heart. Through the prophet Jeremiah,

  101. he gave a promise that has echoed through centuries. You

  102. will seek me and find me when you seek me

  103. with all your heart. That is the heartbeat of level two.

  104. The person is learning what it means to seek with

  105. the heart and not only with the mind. The seeker

  106. begins to see personal patterns. Old ways of living start

  107. to feel heavy. Things that once brought comfort now reveal

  108. their emptiness. Sin that seemed small now feels serious. There

  109. is a growing awareness that life cannot go on the

  110. same way if these things about God are true. At

  111. this level, the danger is delay. A person can seek

  112. and hesitate at the same time. They can say, I

  113. want truth, but then step back when truth exposes something

  114. they do not want to lose. They may enjoy the

  115. feeling of spiritual search, but resist the moment where God's

  116. call becomes sharp and clear. Even so, God is patient

  117. with the honest seeker. He does not crush fragile questions.

  118. He does not shame a person for having doubts. Again

  119. and again he invites, come closer, ask, knock, keep searching.

  120. He knows that true seeking will always bring a person

  121. face to face with his son. If you recognize yourself

  122. here with many questions, some confusion, and yet a growing

  123. pull toward God, do not ignore it. The Lord is

  124. already drawing you. Your questions are not proof of his absence.

  125. They can be signs of his presence moving on your heart.

  126. The key is this. Do you seek him with part

  127. of your heart or with all of it? The more

  128. your whole heart leans toward him, the more clearly you

  129. will hear his call into the next level. The third

  130. level of intimacy is the level of new relationship. Here,

  131. seeking leads to surrender. The person moves from watching and

  132. wondering to trusting and receiving. They hear the call of

  133. the gospel and respond. Scripture describes this level with family words.

  134. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who

  135. believed in his name, he gave the right to become

  136. children of God. This is more than religious change. It

  137. is adoption. A person does not simply add God to

  138. their life. They are brought into his family. God lays

  139. the foundation clearly. If you declare with your mouth, Jesus

  140. is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised

  141. him from the dead, you will be saved. At this level,

  142. the person turns from trying to save themselves and calls

  143. on Jesus as Lord and Savior. They trust his death

  144. on the cross as the sacrifice for their sins and

  145. his resurrection as their new life. The new child in

  146. the family often feels a strange mix of peace and battle.

  147. There is relief in knowing sins are forgiven. There is

  148. joy in knowing God receives them. There is a fresh

  149. desire to pray, to read the Bible, to be around

  150. others who love Christ, At the same time, old habits

  151. still tug, old shame still whispers, old fears still speak.

  152. Many times the enemy attacks hard at this level. He

  153. wants new believers to doubt what has happened. He wants

  154. them to think nothing has truly changed. He uses temptation

  155. to make them believe they are still chained. But the

  156. truth is that a new life has begun. God has

  157. placed His Spirit within them. He has called them His own.

  158. This level of intimacy is real, but it is still early.

  159. The new believer may rest in God's love, but still

  160. keep deep parts of their story hidden. They might obey

  161. in some areas and delay in others. They may think

  162. of God mostly as the one who saves from judgment,

  163. but not yet as the one who shapes every part

  164. of daily life. If you are at this level, be encouraged.

  165. You are truly in the family of God through Christ.

  166. Heaven rejoices over even one sinner who repents, yet do

  167. not settle for being only a newborn child in the faith.

  168. Children are meant to grow. Your father does not want

  169. you to live forever on the edge of his house,

  170. unsure if you belong. He wants you to walk with him,

  171. learn his ways, and grow into maturity. Intimacy with God

  172. does not stop at the door of salvation. It begins there.

  173. Before we continue with the current video, I want to

  174. show you a quick trailer for our Bible quiz app.

  181. of the Bible today. Download now. The fourth level of

  182. intimacy is where a believer learns to walk with God

  183. in daily life. This is the level where faith becomes rhythm.

  184. It touches time, habits, choices, and relationships. God has always

  185. cared about walking. The prophet Micah spoke to people who

  186. wanted to know what God expected from them. The answer

  187. was simple and deep. At the same time, he has

  188. shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does

  189. the Lord require of you? To act justly and to

  190. love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. That phrase,

  191. walk humbly with your God, captures the heart of this level.

  192. Walking with God means you are learning to include Him

  193. in your decisions. You read Scripture not only to gain information,

  194. but to receive direction. You start the day by turning

  195. your mind toward Him. You pause during the day to

  196. ask for help, wisdom, and strength. You confess sin when

  197. the Spirit brings it to light, and you choose obedience

  198. even when it costs you something. The Apostle Paul put

  199. it this way, Since we live by the Spirit, let

  200. us keep in step with the Spirit. This is the

  201. picture of someone who does not rush ahead of God

  202. or lag behind Him, but moves at His pace. It

  203. is a slow and steady journey of learning to listen

  204. and respond. At this level, some believers find that God

  205. begins to touch their routines. He might lead them to

  206. rearrange their time so they can be with Him in

  207. a focused way. He might call them away from certain

  208. entertainments that keep their heart dull. He might nudge them

  209. to forgive someone, to start serving, or to make something

  210. right that has been wrong for a long time. The

  211. danger in Level 4 is turning walking with God into

  212. a dry list of duties. It is possible to read

  213. the Bible, pray, attend gatherings, and still lose sight of

  214. the person you are doing it for. Fear can quietly

  215. take over, and you may begin to think that God

  216. is with you only when you perform well. But God

  217. invites something deeper. He is teaching you that He is

  218. faithful day after day. He is showing you that obedience

  219. is not a cage. It is a path to freedom.

  220. Each choice to trust Him, each simple step of faith,

  221. deepens your history with Him. Over time, your heart learns

  222. that He is safe, that His commands are good, that

  223. His presence is better than anything you gave up to

  224. follow Him. If you are learning to walk with God,

  225. keep going. Do not despise small steps. Do not assume

  226. that only dramatic moments count. The quiet choice to pray

  227. when you feel dry, to forgive when you feel hurt,

  228. to obey when you feel afraid, all of these steps

  229. move you closer to His heart. With every step, your

  230. intimacy grows. The fifth level of intimacy is when walking

  231. turns into friendship. Here the believer begins to share the

  232. heart of God in a deeper way. They move from

  233. only asking, what can God do for me, to asking,

  234. what is on his heart? In Scripture, there is a

  235. powerful phrase about Abraham. He is called the friend of God.

  236. That is an amazing title. The Lord of heaven and

  237. earth describes a human as his friend. Friendship means trust, closeness,

  238. shared concerns. It carries the sense that God opens more

  239. of his heart to those who walk closely with him.

  240. Jesus used the same word when speaking to his disciples

  241. on the night before the cross. He said, I no

  242. longer call you servants because a servant does not know

  243. his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends for

  244. everything that I learned from my Father I have made

  245. known to you. At this level, Jesus does not only

  246. give orders, he shares the Father's heart. The believer who

  247. reaches this level notices a change in their prayers. They

  248. still bring their needs to God, but their deepest desire becomes, Lord,

  249. what do you want? What grieves your heart? What brings

  250. you joy? They begin to care about the things God

  251. cares about, like justice, mercy, the broken, the lost, the

  252. purity of his people, the honor of his name. God

  253. often entrusts more to such a person. He may put

  254. specific people or places on their heart. He may stir

  255. them to intercede for situations that are far away from

  256. their own life. He may lead them to step into

  257. costly obedience for the sake of others. The person's life

  258. becomes less about their comfort and more about God's purpose.

  259. At this level, intimacy has a new weight. When you

  260. grieve the Spirit, you feel it more deeply. When you

  261. ignore His leading, it troubles you. When you obey, your

  262. joy is not only that something worked out well for you,

  263. but that you sense you have touched what God wanted.

  264. The danger here is pride. It is easy for a

  265. person who knows they hear God, who sees their prayers answered,

  266. who feels God's burden, to begin to think they are

  267. more important than others. If that happens, the friendship begins

  268. to cool. God resists the proud but gives grace to

  269. the humble. True friends of God keep a low heart.

  270. They remember that every insight, every word, every burden is

  271. a gift of mercy. They know that without the grace

  272. of God, they would drift like anyone else. Their closeness

  273. to God makes them gentle with others, not harsh. If

  274. you find that God has been sharing more of His

  275. heart with you, if you feel His grief over sin,

  276. His compassion over people, His desire for holiness and love,

  277. give thanks, lean into it. Ask Him to teach you

  278. how to carry His heart without pride, without burnout, without

  279. trying to control others. Friendship with God is a deep honor.

  280. It is also preparation for the next level. The sixth

  281. level of intimacy is where love becomes the main motive.

  282. At this level, the believer is not driven by fear

  283. of punishment or by desire for blessing. They are drawn

  284. by love for who God is. Jesus described the greatest

  285. commandment in simple words that reach to the deepest place.

  286. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and

  287. with all your soul and with all your mind. That

  288. is the aim of level six. This is not partial love.

  289. It is a love that fills heart, soul, and mind.

  290. At this level, the believer finds that being with God

  291. is their greatest desire. Time in his presence is no

  292. longer a duty they must push themselves into. It is

  293. the place their heart longs for. The words of David

  294. begin to echo in their own soul. One thing I

  295. ask from the Lord, this only do I seek. that

  296. I may dwell in the house of the Lord all

  297. the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty

  298. of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.

  299. Love at this depth changes how you see sin. It

  300. is no longer just rule-breaking, it is wounding the one

  301. you love. The question becomes less, is this allowed, and more,

  302. does this please Him? This kind of love does not

  303. make a person hard. It makes them tender. They weep

  304. more easily over their own coldness. They rejoice more deeply

  305. when they sense God's pleasure. At this level, God often

  306. goes into deeper layers of the heart. He may bring

  307. up old wounds that you thought were buried. He may

  308. touch memories that still carry shame. He may speak to

  309. hidden motives that most people would never see. It can

  310. feel painful, but it is the pain of a skilled

  311. surgeon who cuts to heal, not to harm. Loving God

  312. with your whole life means letting Him into every room

  313. of your inner house. It means opening the door to

  314. rooms you kept locked for years. It means saying, Lord,

  315. here is my anger, my fear, my weakness, my confusion.

  316. Here is the part of me I do not even understand.

  317. Speak into this too. The danger at level 6 is discouragement.

  318. When God shines His light into deeper places, you may

  319. feel more broken than before. You may wonder if you

  320. are going backward, because you see more of your own need.

  321. Yet this is often a sign that you are moving closer.

  322. The nearer you are to the light, the more clearly

  323. you see both His beauty and your need for His grace.

  324. If you find yourself wanting God more than anything else,

  325. if you feel Him calling you to deeper surrender, if

  326. you find tears of longing and gratitude rising in His presence,

  327. you may be in this level of intimacy. Do not

  328. run from the deeper work He is doing. Love grows

  329. in honesty. The more you allow Him to see and

  330. heal every part of you, the stronger your love will become. Still,

  331. there is one more level. It is not separate from love.

  332. It grows from it. It is the level where love

  333. and surrender meet in a way that changes everything. The

  334. seventh level of intimacy is the rare level of union

  335. of will. Here, the believer's deepest desire is that their

  336. life would be fully aligned with God's purpose. It is

  337. a place where self has been laid down again and again,

  338. where surrender has become a way of living. The Apostle

  339. Paul described this kind of union with powerful words, I

  340. have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,

  341. but Christ lives in me. The life I now live

  342. in the body, I live by faith in the Son

  343. of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

  344. This is not an idea only. It is a description

  345. of a life so yielded that Christ's character, priorities, and

  346. love shine through. At this level, the believer can honestly say,

  347. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die

  348. is gain. Life and death are both held in the

  349. hands of God. The person's main concern is no longer safety, comfort,

  350. or reputation. Their concern is that Christ would be honored

  351. in their body, whether by life or by death. Union

  352. of will does not mean the person loses their personality.

  353. It means their personality becomes a clear window for the

  354. life of Christ. Old patterns of control have been broken

  355. through many seasons of letting go. Old fears have been

  356. faced and surrendered. Old dreams have been placed on the

  357. altar and either returned in a new way or replaced

  358. by better ones. Why do few reach this level? Partly

  359. because it asks for everything. Along the journey, it is

  360. easy to stop. Some stop at knowledge. Some stop at seeking.

  361. Some stop at salvation and never grow. Others reach walking

  362. with God but refuse to let Him reorder their plans.

  363. Some become His friends but draw back when the cost rises.

  364. Some love Him greatly but still hold tightly to certain

  365. areas of life. Union of will is where a person

  366. holds nothing back. When God says, let that go, they

  367. let it go. When he says, go there, they go,

  368. even if it is costly or unclear. When he says, wait,

  369. they wait, even when every part of them wants to

  370. run ahead. Their security is no longer in understanding every detail.

  371. Their security is in the one who leads. This level

  372. often includes suffering. The person may walk through deep trials, misunderstandings,

  373. or losses, yet they cling to God. Their intimacy has

  374. grown to a place where obedience is not a negotiation.

  375. It is their natural response. They do not see themselves

  376. as heroes. They simply see themselves as His. Union of

  377. will does not mean the believer never struggles or feels weak.

  378. It means that in the struggle, they return again and

  379. again to the same place. Here I am, Lord. My

  380. life belongs to You. Use it for Your glory. Through

  381. many such returns, their heart becomes firmly anchored. If you

  382. feel a pull toward this level, do not be afraid

  383. of it. It is demanding, but it is also where

  384. the deepest joy is found. This is the place where

  385. eternal life is tasted as a relationship. Now Jesus once said,

  386. Now this is eternal life, that they know you, the

  387. only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

  388. Union of will is a deep knowing, a shared life,

  389. a steady yes to God. Few reach this level, but

  390. the door is open to all. It is not for

  391. a spiritual elite. It is for anyone who is willing

  392. to keep saying yes, one surrender at a time. As

  393. you look at these seven levels, it is important to

  394. pause and be honest. Where are you really with God?

  395. Maybe you see yourself in the crowd, watching from a distance,

  396. familiar with church words, but unsure if you have ever

  397. truly met the Lord for yourself. Maybe you feel the

  398. ache of the seeker, full of questions and restlessness, knowing

  399. there must be more than the life you are living now.

  400. Perhaps you remember the joy of becoming a child in

  401. the family when grace first became real and forgiveness washed

  402. over you. Yet somewhere along the way, you lost some

  403. of that wonder. Your faith became routine, and you are

  404. hungry for that fresh closeness again. You may be walking

  405. with God, taking real steps of obedience, yet feeling the

  406. tension of choices that cost you comfort or control. You

  407. might sense the friendship of God, carrying burdens that line

  408. up with His heart, feeling His grief for the broken,

  409. His delight in hidden obedience. Maybe you have tasted level six,

  410. those moments when love for God becomes stronger than anything else,

  411. when all you want is his presence, when tears fall

  412. because you feel his nearness and see your own need.

  413. And perhaps in quiet ways, God has already been inviting

  414. you toward that final level where your life becomes fully

  415. available to him. where your plans and his plans are

  416. no longer two separate paths, but one. Wherever you are,

  417. do not let shame speak louder than his invitation. This

  418. message is not meant to crush you. It is meant

  419. to wake you and draw you. God is not surprised

  420. by your level. He has seen the steps you have

  421. taken and the ones you have refused. He knows your fears,

  422. your wounds, your doubts, and yet he keeps reaching. Feel

  423. the weight of this, but also the hope. You are

  424. not stuck forever where you are now. The Spirit of

  425. God is able to move you deeper than you think possible.

  426. He can take a cold heart and make it burn again.

  427. He can take a confused seeker and lead them into

  428. clear faith. He can take a tired believer and renew

  429. their strength. He can take a fearful heart and teach

  430. it to trust. Intimacy with God is not a prize

  431. for the strong. It is a gift for the hungry.

  432. The question is not whether you have failed before. The

  433. question is whether you are willing to say, Lord, I

  434. want more of you than I have known. Teach me

  435. to move deeper. If this video helped you grow deeper

  436. in God's Word, I want to personally invite you to

  437. be part of what we are building here. Every video

  438. on this channel takes many hours of study and careful research.
