-
but also how they apply to our life and the times.

-
and A. And if you have a Bible question, you
-
know what to do. There is a QR code that
-
we're going to put up on the screen right now.
-
Or you need to do is scan that QR.
-
Code and you'll be able to post your Bible question
-
right there online. And as we normally do, we'll try
-
to address as many questions as possible. Well, I'd like
-
to invite pass the Doug to come join me for
-
Bible questions, and let's give him a warm welcome pass
-
A Doug, thank.
-
You, thank you, thank you passer us, and thank you
-
for the choir that beautiful song.
-
Or We've got a number of great questions that have
-
come in and so let's just get right to it.
-
Question number one.
-
As a college student, I don't know if I'm following
-
God's plan for my life, especially when it seems that
-
the Second Coming is so near.
-
How do I know what God's plan is for my life?
-
The biggest criteria if you want to know God's will
-
for your life in any category is first be sure
-
that you are willing to do whatever his will is. Usually,
-
when we want to know God's well, the big battle
-
is am I perfectly willing to do whatever He reveals?
-
So if you commit your way to the Lord, he
-
will direct your path. Now, if the Lord's coming is
-
near and you're thinking, well should I go to college,
-
I would say, you know, every Christian needs to live
-
like you might die tomorrow and plan for a thousand years.
-
So we need to be ready to meet the Lord
-
at any time. But you want to be as educated
-
as you could be. You know, when I first became
-
a Christian, I thought, all the Lord's coming any day. Now,
-
I'm going to build my house with oak pier blocks
-
instead of concrete, because the Lord will come before they rot. Well,
-
they rotted, you know, So I think you need to
-
plan ahead, try and get a good education. If Jesus
-
comes while you're being educated for his service, you will
-
not regret it all. Right.
-
Next question that we have, what is the best way
-
to start reading the Bible?
-
Well, that is a good question because sometimes I got
-
bogged down when I first started reading the Bible. I
-
just went to read from Genesis all the way through,
-
and you know, you'll get to some of the technical
-
stuff in Leviticus and Exodus. They're building the sanctuary, the
-
ceremonial system, and you don't want to lose interest. You
-
might get the overview in Genesis, a great story there
-
about the birth of Israel and the creation and so forth.
-
Read the first few chapters of Exodus about slavery and
-
the exodus of Egypt. Then you might want to go
-
to the books of History, meaning you read first and
-
second Samuel, first and second Kings, Chronicles, Repeats, Kings. You
-
might jump then to the New Testament. Some people just
-
start with a New Testament, but ten percent of everything
-
Jesus said, he's quoting the Old Testament. So it's really
-
good to have a foundation in some of the Old
-
Testament books. And you may want to also read Deuteronomy. Now,
-
there are a lot of great Bible study guides online.
-
You can study the Bible by topic, you can study
-
it by book. You can actually listen to the Bible
-
being read to you as you study. One of the
-
things that helped me anyone remember the old Alexander Scorby
-
Bible records, and they later made it was a King
-
James version. This incredible actor had a wonderful voice in diction,
-
and he read through the whole Bible. King James version.
-
I couldn't pronounce the names in the Bible, but I
-
listened to him night after night reading the Bible, and
-
I got where I could say most of the names.
-
And so listening also can help as you read.
-
Okay, will we be given a new name when we
-
get to heaven?
-
The Bible seems to indicate in Revelation chapter two. In
-
chapter three, Jesus said, He's going to give us a
-
new name, and that new name will be something between
-
us and the Lord, just like he gave a new
-
name to Abraham. He gave a new name to Jacob,
-
gave a new name to Peter. We'll be getting new
-
names in heaven that has something to do with our
-
character and are a struggle, I'm assuming all right.
-
Here's an interesting question.
-
It says, doesn't the apostle poll say that it doesn't
-
matter whether or not you keep the Sabbath according to Coloutions,
-
Chapter two and verse sixteen.
-
Okay, well, I invited you to ask this question, and
-
you did. Thank you. Let me read this to you.
-
When people hear the Sabbath truth, please be patient. We
-
get a lot of questions on this subject. One of
-
the principal places that people go is Colossians too. I'll
-
read it to you and you'll see why. Starting with
-
verse thirteen. Stay with me, and you, being dead in
-
your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has
-
made alive together with him. Having forgiven you all your trespasses,
-
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements ordinances that was
-
against us, which was contrary to us, he has taken
-
it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross,
-
having disarmed principalities and powers, he made a public spectacle
-
of them triumphing over them in it. So let no
-
one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding
-
a festival or new moon, or sabbaths, which are a
-
shadow of things to come, but the substances. Christ I
-
got to take a minute. First of all, he's writing
-
this to Colossians. They are not Jews. He talks about
-
being dead and the uncircumcision. They weren't circumcised. They had
-
not followed the Jewish ceremonial laws. This is really dealing
-
with their keeping the annual Sabbaths that we mentioned. Notice
-
having wiped out the handwriting. The annual Sabbaths were part
-
of the ceremonial law that written on paper that could
-
be nailed to the cross. You don't nail the Ten
-
Commandments to anything. Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements
-
that was against us, you might not think that means much.
-
But when it says against us, you go to the
-
Old Testament. When they took the ceremonial law, they put
-
it in a pocket on the outside of the arc
-
of the The Ten Commandments were on the inside. The
-
ceremonial law was on the outside, and Moses said specifically
-
put it there as a witness against you. The ceremonial
-
laws were there as a witness it said against us,
-
he says, wiping out the ordinances, the handwriting that was
-
against us, talking about all the ceremonial sabbaths, passover, feast
-
of trumpets, feast of tabernacle, so forth, we're not required
-
to keep these. The Sabbath of the weekly cycle that
-
has to do with our rest and following God's example,
-
is completely different from the annual Jewish sabbath's circumcision. We
-
don't have to sacrifice lambs anymore. All of that was
-
nailed to the cross. But there is a very big
-
difference between that and the weekly Sabbath of the Ten Commandments. Amen.
-
So this is what Paul's talking about. You read the language.
-
He's talking about the ordinances, handwriting, handwriting of Moses nailed
-
to the cross. God didn't nail the Ten Commandments to
-
the cross.
-
Capacity Just to add to that, in there, it mentioned sabbaths,
-
which we're all shadow. That's right, And the ceremonial law
-
had certain feast days that were considered sabbaths, and they
-
could fall on any day of the week.
-
So we know about the seventh day Sabbath here in
-
this past.
-
That's right. It's a small s right in there.
-
All right.
-
Another question that we have, what is the best thing
-
to do on the Sabbath besides going to church? Can
-
I take my grandkids to the park? Or can I
-
take the dogs on a walk? What should I do?
-
Yeah, well, all of the above. It's a good idea.
-
Take your dog for a walk. Otherwise you have other
-
consequences that create work for the Sabbath. But you know,
-
if you've got a farm, you gotta milk your cows,
-
you gotta milk your goats. So there's certain things that
-
are God understands. You shouldn't harvest your crops. I can
-
usually wait a day, but the Bible says that you
-
should as far as possible. Your animals should rest and
-
take the kids to the park. Kids get ins in
-
their pants. It's good for them to get out and
-
run around and nature. You know, I don't think they
-
should be involved in, you know, sports, but let them
-
go for a walk in nature. It's good to visit
-
people that might need a Bible study to get together
-
with other believers. Be part of a Bible study group,
-
saying be part of a music group. Our church Pastor
-
Ross and I are both pastoring at a church in Grantape, California.
-
We can't keep up with all the stuff they're going on.
-
They're having health lectures and music programs and Bible studies
-
and baptismal classes, and there's stuff going on all day.
-
So there's lots of wonderful things you can do on
-
the Sabbath a that are considered holy in keeping with
-
its holy nature.
-
All right, what is the meaning of the full living
-
creatures of the full beasts that are described around the
-
throne of God in Revelation chapter four?
-
Okay, Now, keep in mind in Revelation there's a lot
-
of symbolism there. You've got, you know, you got dragons,
-
you got a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns,
-
and the seven spirits of God. Then you've got these
-
four creeds around the throne of God. Four in the
-
Bible is usually number representing something universal. The four You've
-
got angels to go to the four corners of the
-
earth to gather together his elect You've got four angels
-
holding back the winds of strife that would blow on
-
the world before the Second Coming. The four creatures around
-
the throne are revealing different characteristics of the one who
-
sits on the throne, says, one is like an eagle,
-
one is like a lion, one is like an oxen,
-
one is like a man. Where do you first find that?
-
Not in Revelation, It's in Ezekiel. Remember what I said.
-
The key to understanding the four hundred and four verses
-
in Revelation two one hundred and seventy eight of the
-
four hundred and four verses in Revelation you can find
-
in the Old Testament. So Christ. In the Book of Mark,
-
Jesus is sort of revealed as an eagle. Talks about
-
his speed, the eagle's eye, his vision. Matthew describes Jesus
-
as the lion of the tribe of Judash. The Majesty.
-
You've got Luke, who is a physician. He describes Jesus
-
the man caring for the poor. Luke has a lot
-
to say about that. In his Gospel, John shows Jesus
-
as the sacrifice, which would be the calf for the oxen,
-
the lamb of God that takes away the sin of
-
the world. So they're showing different facets or aspects of
-
the nature of Christ.
-
All right, next question that we have King, you still
-
repent and be saved during the tribulation just before the
-
Second Coming.
-
There is a time when probation closes and it's too late.
-
Someone asked a rabbi what is the best time to repent.
-
He said, the last day of your life. And they said, well,
-
what if you don't know what the last day of
-
your life is. He said, exactly, this could be the
-
last day of your life. Every day is a gift. Friends.
-
You know, before the rain came in the days of Noah,
-
all the animals entered the ark. Noah stood in the door,
-
made his final appeal. Everybody looked at each other, and
-
they looked at the blue sky and they said, well,
-
it's not raining yet. Nobody else is going in. I'm
-
not going in. And then the door was shut. Probation
-
for them had closed. When the final seven last plagues
-
begin to fall, it is then too late. That's where
-
Jesus declares in Revelation twenty two. Let him who is
-
just be just still. I look at John because he's
-
a real expert on revelation. He's letting me answer the questions,
-
but he's written lessons on revelation. Let the just be unjust,
-
Let the filthy, be filthy, Let the righteous be righteous, still,
-
let the pure be pure. At that point, there's no
-
changing teams. Right now, the door of mercy is open.
-
You don't know what a wonderful opportunity that is. But
-
there is a limit to God's grace, So do not procrastinate.
-
The devil is going to fill hell to overflowing with
-
people who planned on turning to the Lord tomorrow today.
-
If you hear his voice, do not harden your heart horry.
-
Next question, if Satan in heaven was able to rebel,
-
is the chance that I could send after going to
-
heaven and be cast out?
-
You would be free to do that, But the Bible
-
promises it will never happen again. Through eternity, We're going
-
to see the scars in Jesus' hands that show that
-
God is love. We will never forget this terrible accusation
-
that was made by the devil that living selfishly somehow
-
was going to give us more freedom. It's a big lie.
-
Love is more blessed to give than receive. Love is
-
the real source of happiness. And you know, the key
-
to happiness is not looking for happiness. The key to
-
happiness is looking for holiness. In the process of looking
-
for holiness, you will collide with happiness. That's the way
-
it works. And that's why Jesus said, he that loses
-
his life will find it, but hef who tries to
-
find his life for himself will lose it. So when
-
you give your life to the Lord, that's when you
-
really begin to live. But I answer the question, yeah, look,
-
I wasn't sure. Sometimes I get distracted by my own voice,
-
and I all right.
-
All right, Christian human.
-
Nine.
-
Then if drinking wine is wrong, why did Jesus turn
-
watering to wine at a wedding.
-
The word wine in the Bible is used to describe
-
both the fermented wine that we usually think of, but
-
the word wine is also used to talk about fresh
-
grape juice. In the Bible, God tells us that drinking
-
alcohol is a very bad idea. Noah drank alcohol, and
-
he wandered around drunk and naked, and he cursed one
-
of his sons as a result. A lot's daughters got
-
him to drink, and they committed incest with their father.
-
David tried to get Uriah drunk so that he would
-
go against his conscience. The Bible says woe to him
-
who gives his neighbor drink. Wine is a mocker's strong
-
drink is raging. Whoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
-
Over fifty percent of the accidents that will happen in
-
Texas in the next twenty four hours alcohol is connected.
-
Over half of the crimes that are committed that will
-
put people in jail alcohol is committed. I forget, but
-
it's nearly half of birth defects can be connected with alcohol.
-
So how much should a Christian support that? When Jesus
-
turned the water to wine, the Bible says, as the
-
new wine is in the cluster, Jesus made fresh grape juice.
-
Jesus did not make sixty gallons of booze for a party.
-
When Jesus had the last supper with the disciples, he said,
-
take this cup, drink it. I will not drink it
-
until I drink it together with you. Knew in the
-
Father's kingdom new wine. He says that, so passover, and
-
the communion service is supposed to be unleavened bread. The
-
juice is to be unfermented. Fermentation is a process of rottenning.
-
Jesus does not want us to use the leaven or
-
the fermentation in the Lord's supper.
-
All right, well, that's about time for our questions for
-
this evening. Of course, tomorrow evening we'll be answering more
-
Bible questions. How do you get us your Bible question? Well,
-
just scan the QR code. You're gonna put it up
-
on the screen. You can see it there and scan
-
it with your phone. We'll take you to the app
-
where you just type in your Bible Christian. We'll try
-
to answer as many as we can. Well this evening,
-
a special musical item will be brought to us by
-
Pastor Ryan and Jackie. In times like these.

-
this is his last evening with us. He's gonna actually
-
fly back to three EBN tomorrow. There's some filming taking place.
-
But we have so been blessed and enjoyed working with him.
-
And thank you Pastor Ryan for the music and Jackie.
-
Tonight our lesson is entitled Devils and Dead Prophets, very
-
important subject.
-
Welcome friends once again to the Prophecy Countdown. What's the
-
next seminar? And we're so glad that you're joining us here.
-
It's good to see the faithful attendance that we have
-
here in Crowley, Texas, and we know that there are
-
people who are watching all over the country and other
-
parts of the world. We welcome you as well. Thank
-
you so much for three ABN carrying this broadcast as
-
well as Good News Television aftv AF is Amazing Facts TV.
-
And we're trying to get the word out. Amen. Tonight,
-
We've got a very important study. And the title may
-
seem a little ominous Devils and Dead Profits, but I
-
think that'll make sense as we proceed. I like to
-
start with an amazing fact, and you've probably heard about
-
Harry Houdini. Now, Houdini was a legitimate magician, also known
-
as an escape artist. He was one of the greatest
-
escape artists in history. He's become legendary and in some
-
myths have written about him that are not true. But
-
he was extremely strong. He was double joined that he
-
was able to pick locks, and he could get out
-
of handcuffs. He escaped from Scotland Yard jails they said
-
were unescapable. He escaped from many jails and prisons. They
-
would handcuff him, put him in a box, chain up
-
the box, throw the box in the river, and he
-
would get out. And these weren't tricks and illusions. He
-
really would get out. But then he also was something
-
of a magician, but he sort of resented what was
-
happening during the same time he was doing his escape
-
artist acts. There were all of these people that were
-
spiritualists that were claiming that they were consulting with the dead,
-
and Houdini didn't like that one bit, and so he
-
began to try to expose phony spiritualists in mediums. He
-
presented himself as the scourge of fake spiritualists. He was
-
a president of the Society of American Magicians. He maybe
-
didn't know there was such a thing, and he was
-
very keen to uphold professional standards and to expose frauds. Well,
-
he was very successful, and he kept surpassing one escape
-
procedure after another, but he got a severe case of
-
appendicitis when he was like fifty one years of age,
-
and they were not able to catch it in time,
-
and he died from that. He died on October thirty one,
-
what day is that, Halloween nineteen twenty six. And then
-
all these spiritualists said, well, he was taken out because
-
he was fighting against the evil spirits, but if you
-
listen carefully, he's going to contact us. And so for
-
years afterward, his wife Bess would get together with other
-
spiritualists on Halloween and they would try to make contact
-
with Houdini. And even today there are people who say
-
we're going to try and contact Houdini through these mediums,
-
but so far, as far as we know, there's been
-
no success. There's a reason for that, as the Bible says,
-
the living know that they will die, but the dead
-
know not anything. Now, you might wonder why are we
-
talking about a subject like this In connection with Prophecy
-
got to tell you a story in the Bible. I
-
don't have time to read it all to you, but
-
if you look at first Samuel, chapter twenty eight, you
-
can read the whole story. King Saul was a good king,
-
chosen by God, filled by the spirit. But over the
-
years he began to become proud, and it got worse
-
and worse, until he drove the spirit of God away.
-
He killed the priests of the Lord. He became so
-
jealous that God was now having David chosen to replace him.
-
He was consumed with jealousy and selfishness and pride, so
-
that he basically grieved away the Holy Spirit. Then, as
-
he was facing a great final battle with the Philistines,
-
he asked God for some guidance, and there was no word.
-
Trying to find a prophet who had some word for him.
-
No prophet would speak to him, so he said, well,
-
then I'll get a witch shows you how quickly he
-
could switch. And they found the witch of Indoor, and
-
he disguised himself. He went to the witch and he said,
-
I want you to conjure up for me the spirit
-
of Samuel the Prophet, to tell me what I'm supposed
-
to do. She went through her incantations and rigormarole, and
-
she said, oh, I see this man and this being,
-
this apparition appeared claiming to be the prophet Samuel. Some
-
people wonder, what's that really, Samuel. Does the devil have
-
the power to resurrect the dead? No, he does not.
-
Does he have the power to create illusions? Yes? This
-
demon that was in person Nadian Samuel the prophet gave
-
Saul a completely hopeless message that you're going to die
-
and be with me tomorrow when your sons will die
-
and David'll be king. He mixed some truth with discouragement,
-
and the next day, in the battle, discouraged, wounded King
-
Saul fell on his sword and committed suicide. So why
-
does this matter? In the book of Revelation, if you
-
take your Bible and you go to Revelation chapter sixteen.
-
You need to understand the subject of what does the
-
Bible say about the dead, because the devil is going
-
to exploit the idea that we can communicate with the
-
dead to deceive people. If you look in Revelation sixteen,
-
you've got the seven last plagues are being poured out.
-
And if you go to verse twelve, this is the
-
sixth plague. By the way, the seventh plague is the
-
second coming the sixth plague. The angel poured out his
-
bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was
-
dried up. That's interesting because the Euphrates river is actually
-
drying up right now. But that's not the fulfillment. Don't worry,
-
so that the way of the Kings of the East
-
might be prepared. Why the way of the Kings of
-
the East. When Babylon fell, some of you who were
-
here from the beginning, remember that Cyrus the General diverted
-
the water of the Euphrates, so the water dried up
-
that was going to Babylon. His soldiers marched under the wall.
-
The water of Euphrates is a harbinger of the fall
-
of Babylon. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs.
-
That was one of the plagues of Egypt, coming out
-
of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth
-
of the beast, and out of the mouth of the
-
false prophet. Now they're coming out of the mouth. And
-
what's a frog's weapon? Anyone ever been bitten by a frog?
-
Or scratch? Watch by fright. It's his tongue, every quick
-
tongue out of the mouth. Let's talk about a message.
-
And frogs are unclean, in case you didn't know biblically,
-
So it's an unclean message. For they are spirits of demons,
-
performing signs that go to the kings of the earth
-
in the whole world to gather them to the battle
-
of the great day of God Almighty. Before Saul went
-
to this great battle, he met with the witch, deceived
-
him through a spirit, and his men lost all courage
-
because the king was discouraged and they were terribly defeated.
-
God says verse fifteen. Behold, if you have a normal
-
read letter edition Bible, you notice this word isn't read.
-
These are the words of Jesus. Behold, I am coming
-
quickly as a thief. Blessed is he who watches and
-
keeps his garments lest he walk naked, and they see
-
a shame. We must be clothed with Christ's righteousness, and
-
says they gathered them together to a place called in
-
Hebrew armageddon. So before the end, the devil is going
-
to do a masterpiece of deceptions, with evil spirits going
-
to the leaders of the world to deceive them and
-
manipulate them, and it's going to culminate in the great battle.
-
The battle of Armageddon is not missiles flying back and forth.
-
The battle of Armageddon is when the dragon makes war
-
with the woman. It is when Jesus comes charging out
-
from the heavens with his white horse and a sword
-
coming out of his mouth. It is a battle between
-
truth and error, those who follow Christ and those who don't,
-
those who have the seal of God and those who
-
have the mark of the beast. People who think the
-
battle of Armageddon is going to be between countries, they
-
get that from Douglas MacArthur when he retired. He said,
-
if we don't find some more equitable means of solving
-
our problems than world wars, armageddon is at our door.
-
And people took this quote from MacArthur and they assumed
-
that Armageddon must be a military conflict. But the Bible
-
doesn't teach that. The big war in the Bible is
-
between Christ and Satan. It's not between Russia and China
-
and the US and all these different nations. Jesus said
-
there's going to be wars and rumors of wars in
-
the world up until the end. But the big war
-
is the war where Jesus comes to deliver us, and
-
it's a war where the devil is going to seek
-
to annihilate those who have the seal of God and
-
they do not worship the beast Or's image. All right?
-
Is that clear? Why do we need to understand what
-
happens with the dead? Now, this is a sensitive subject.
-
There's probably nobody here. If you're an adult, you've not
-
been touched in some way by a death. It may
-
be parent, spouse, sibling, child, all of the above. For me,
-
and I know it's it's as hard as it someone
-
you love. It leavest a terrible vacuum. Death is terribly permanent,
-
and so I don't want to be insensitive about this.
-
But here's what you need to know is that the
-
dead are dead until the resurrection. What confuses people is
-
you read a verse in the Bible where it says
-
absent from the body present with the Lord. They don't
-
read the whole verse, and they say, well, as soon
-
as you die, you're immediately in the presence of the Lord. Well,
-
in a sense, if you're saved and you die, your
-
next conscious thought is the resurrection and being caught up
-
to meet the Lord in the airth So for the
-
person who dies, it is their next conscious thought. But
-
it hasn't happened yet, because the judgment has not happened yet,
-
and the resurrection has not happened yet. And Jesus said,
-
the dead or asleep. So when people say I'm having
-
my dead loved one talk to me, well, they may
-
have memories that are coming to them. They may feel
-
like that person that they've lived so much of their
-
life with is impressing them. But it could also be
-
evil spirits that are manipulating them. So you've got to
-
be very clear that dead people do not talk to
-
the living. And you know the Bible forbids that the
-
Bible says anybody who tries to communicate with the dead
-
is forbidden. Those people will call mediums, in which it's spiritualists.
-
It is absolutely forbidden in the Bible. And yet I
-
hear Christians all the time say, all I heard them,
-
they were speaking to me. We don't talk to the dead.
-
Isaiah said, should a living people consult with the dead
-
go to wizards and peep and mutter according to the
-
law and the testimony? That means along the prophets, if
-
they speak not according to this word, there's no light
-
in them. So, friends, when we discover what the Bible
-
says about life and death, where are we going to
-
get our answer? Pastor Doug are from Jesus in the Bible.
-
So we're going to be quote Bible tonight. Listen carefully,
-
all right. Question number one? Was the spirit that was
-
conjured up by this witch? The witch at Endore really
-
Samuel the prophet? What does the Bible say one kings
-
twenty two, verse twenty one, and a spirit came forward
-
and stood before the Lord and said, I will go
-
and be a lying spirit. Are there lying spirits in
-
the mouth of all his prophets? Are there false prophets
-
that are being manipulated by lying spirits? And you realize
-
that not every pastor that uses the name of Jesus,
-
not every pastor that holds a bible is telling the truth.
-
There are some wolves in sheep's clothing. Jesus said, beware
-
speaking of the second Coming. The first thing Jesus said
-
is beware there will be false christ and false prophets.
-
The devil finds he does more damage from the inside.
-
What else does it say, First Chronicles ten thirteen. So
-
Saul died for his unfaithfulness, which he had committed against
-
the Lord, because he did not keep the word of
-
the Lord, or to keep the word of the Lord.
-
Also because he consulted a medium for guidance. He died
-
for doing that. It is not God's plan for us
-
to go and talk to astrologers. Now. Astronomy is the
-
legitimate study of the heavens. And I would love to
-
be the first pastor to go up on the International
-
Space Station. That'd be so cool. But that's different from astrology.
-
You know.
-
My mother she was into we'd use Ouiji boards growing
-
up in astrology. My mother actually wrote an album of astrology,
-
twelve songs for the different signs. And my mother's friends
-
used to write articles. They wrote the astrology section in
-
the paper. My mother was in show business and she
-
wrote she was a Hollywood film critic, and she used
-
to write songs for Elvis Presley. And I won't talk
-
about that right now, just to let you know that
-
she told me. I said, Mom, do you believe that?
-
She said, you kidding? It makes money the people writing
-
the zodiacs and the astrology signs for the folks reading it,
-
don't even believe it. Number two, through what agency will
-
Satan gather the armies of the earth to the final
-
battle of Armageddon? We just read it. I saw three
-
unclean spirits like frogs. It's like a counterfeit trinity. It's
-
not the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It's the Beast,
-
the Dragon, and the false Prophet coming out of the
-
mouth of the dragon. The mouth of the beasts and
-
the mouth of the false Prophet. They are the spirits
-
of demons, fallen angels performing signs. Can the devil do signs?
-
In wonders? Doesn't it sane revelation that he'll deceive the world,
-
going so far as bringing fire down out of heaven
-
and the sight of men to deceive them. So when
-
you say, oh, you know, I know what the Bible says,
-
but my pastor he the signs and wonders that should
-
not be our criteria. If it doesn't go along with
-
the word of the Lord. There's no light in them
-
to gather them to the battle of that great day
-
of God Almighty. And they gathered them together to a
-
place called in Hebrew Armaged. And that word is something
-
of a mystery, because there is a very important valley
-
in Israel called Megiddo, and it was a crucial point.
-
A lot of battles happened. King Saul's battle with the
-
Philistines happened in Megiddo. When Gideon fought against the Amalekites
-
and Midianites and the people of the East, that happened
-
in Megiddo. King Josiah was killed in Megiddo. When Debra
-
and Barrick went against the army of Cicera, it was Megiddo.
-
So all through these Old Testament battles, these pivotal battles
-
happened here. Now one Bible translator, when they say, what
-
does armaged mean, as far as I know, it means
-
Harma hill of Megiddo, the hill of Megiddo. Mghiddo's actually
-
a valley. So but in the story of Gideon in
-
Judges chapter six, when it says in Hebrew, the Lord
-
said to Gideon. You know how that translates Harma Gideon.
-
So it may be referring to the Battle of Gideon,
-
where Gideon only had three hundred soldiers, and using a
-
sword and a lamp and the voice the trumpet, they
-
overcame an army of like almost a million. I mean
-
it said they were like the sand of the sea
-
in the last days, God's people are going to overcome
-
with a lamp. Thy word is a lamp under my feet,
-
and a sword. The word of God is sharper than
-
any two edged sword, and a trumpet. Lift up thy
-
voice like a trumpet. Three symbols for the Bible. So
-
it may be revelation could be pointing back to this
-
battle of Gideon in the Valley of Megiddo. It's something
-
of a mystery, but that's what it's taught talking about.
-
Don't be waiting for different armies to gather in Israel
-
and they've been shooting each other over there for one
-
hundreds thousands of years. That's actually it can confuse people,
-
all right, what do people out there in the community
-
think about what happens when you die? I think we
-
might have some man on the street videos.
-
Well, in my culture, I was raised Buddhist, and in
-
my culture we have incarnation.
-
What do I think happens when we die? If we're
-
non believers? I believe that we would go to hell
-
and burn eternally. But I do believe if we follow
-
God's law that we would be with Him in heaven.
-
Oh, probably nothing. I believe that you will be with
-
God in heaven.
-
Absolutely gross are one thousand versent real? As someone who
-
visibly sees ghosts twenty fourth heaven, I can confirm. I
-
believe that ghosts are definitely for me personally, it's loved ones.
-
It's always been loved ones. But they can be you know,
-
people that you normally pass on the street, someone completely random.
-
I believe ghosts are real.
-
One thousand ghosts are.
-
Energy of souls of probably dead people. They are real,
-
But I think ghosts can die too, because if if
-
everyone turned into a ghost, then there would be a
-
lot of a lot of ghosts, be too many ghosts.
-
So I think, you know, it's a second life and
-
then then you're gone again. But they're probably dead people.
-
It's energy, spiritual stuff.
-
I don't know.
-
A book fell off a shelf when I was a kid,
-
and I was ghosts are probably definitely real.
-
For me, Uh, they are real because like, if you
-
have a good like side, then you also have a
-
bad side. So I feel like ghosts for me represent
-
like maybe spirits.
-
I have communicated with the dead on multiple occasions. I
-
think it can happen. I just think you need to
-
have a really really strong connection with whoever has passed.
-
No, I've witnessed some stuff and I kind of think
-
it's cool. But I don't know.
-
Some people can just scam you, but some people, I
-
think somewhere in this world can. All right, would you
-
all agree that the world is pretty confused about the
-
state of the dead and can you communicate with the dead?
-
And ghosts are ghosts real? Yes, but they are not
-
dead people. They are demons impersonating the dead. So when
-
people say they saw something go bump in the night,
-
or something levitate, or they saw some sign or wonder
-
some spooky something, yeah, I don't doubt that for a minute.
-
But these are what you call demons and evil spirits.
-
They are impersonating the dead. And that's why we've got
-
to understand that the dead are dead, because all of
-
a sudden, if some being appears and claims to be
-
Moses and has a new message the conflicts with the Bible.
-
He says, I've got fresh evidence. What are you gonna believe? Spirits,
-
signs and wonders or you know how many times around
-
the world Mary appears to people with messages. They call
-
them marrying apparitions. This is very dangerous because a lot
-
of those messages conflict with the Bible. For one thing,
-
though Mary was a godly woman, I expect to see
-
her in the Kingdom of Heaven. Nowhere in the Bible
-
are we told to communicate with the dead. It is
-
actually forbidden. And yet I hear Christians all the time
-
talk about yes, I'm you know, they say, Robin Williams
-
died and he's in heaven telling God jokes, And I'm
-
going where are they getting these ideas? Do the dead
-
people come back to converse with or haunt the living?
-
What does the Bible say Job fourteen twenty one speaking
-
of someone that dies, his sons come to honor. He
-
does not know it. They are brought low. He does
-
not perceive it. For the living know that they will die.
-
This is Solomon Ecclesiastes nine five and six the living
-
know they'll die, But the dead no nothing, not a
-
zero zip. They don't know anything. They have no more
-
a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also
-
their love, their hatred. If they hated you when they died,
-
don't worry about them haunting you. They're dead and their
-
envy has now perished. Never more will they have a
-
share in anything done under the sun. Under the sun
-
means in this life there will be a resurrection, for
-
there is no work or device, or knowledge or wisdom
-
in the grave. This is what the Bible says. Friends,
-
here's I could give you fifty scriptures. It's just not
-
time Psalms six, verse five. In death, there is no
-
remembrance of you. Now you would think if someone died,
-
the first thing they do is remember God. The dead
-
do not praise the Lord, nor any who go down
-
into silence, Job seven, verse ten. He shall never return
-
to his house. If you're afraid they're going to come
-
back and haunt your house. Karen and I bought a
-
house about thirty years ago, and we know that the
-
prior owner died in the house, and some people were
-
spooked by that, and I thought, oh, I don't care.
-
Get a discount. It's not gonna didn't bother me one bit,
-
and he wasn't gonna bother me. Number four, according to
-
the Book of Revelation, who is it that has the
-
keys of life and death? Answer? Jesus said, I am
-
he who lives and was dead, And behold, I am
-
alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades.
-
And the word hades there means the grave. It's a
-
Greek word. I have the keys of the grave and
-
of death. It's only Jesus who can unlock the grave.
-
And he proves that in first of all his own resurrection.
-
For one. Number five, how did God make man in
-
the beginning? So if we'll understand something about creation, you
-
can understand something about the reverse. The Lord God formed
-
man from the dust of the ground, and he breathed
-
into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became
-
a living being. The Bible refers to the breath of life.
-
It is his essence of life, this power of life,
-
that God gives his creatures. What happens to death, it's
-
creation in reverse. Notice Eclesiastes twelve, verse seven. Then the
-
dust will return to the earth as it was and
-
the spirit will return to God who gave it. Now,
-
when it says the spirit returns to God, people say, well,
-
there you have it, pastor Doug. When a person dies,
-
their spirit goes off to be with God. This is
-
what you've got to catch. The word spirit there means breath.
-
It means breath of life. It is the same word
-
that is used for a dog, a cat, a bat,
-
a cow, anything that's alive. Every creature breathes, and when
-
they stop breathing, they die. And it's the breath of life,
-
the power of life that returns to God that gave it.
-
In this passage and Ecclesiastes, he's talking about not only
-
good people and bad people, but animals. The breath of
-
life of everything that dies returns to God. Let me
-
give you some more scriptures for that. The Bible teaches
-
that the spirit that returns to God is simply the
-
breath of life which God breathed in the man at
-
the beginning. So in our auditorium right now, we've got
-
a lot of apparatus that's operating through electricity. Heaven forbid,
-
we should have a power of failure. If that did happen,
-
you might say, where where did the electricity go. Well,
-
it's back at the power plant where it came from.
-
It's this same electricity as operating many different apparatus, right,
-
But that's all it's talking about it when it's the
-
breath of God. In Hebrew, the word is roach. In
-
Greek it's the word numa. When someone has problems breathing,
-
they call it pneumonia. And if you men have worked
-
with some tools that are called pneumatic tools, what does
-
that mean? They're operated by air pressure. That's what numa means.
-
It means when breath. Let me give you some verses
-
that prove that. Psalm one of four, verse twenty nine.
-
You take away their breath, they die and return to
-
their dust. You send forth your spirit, your breath, and
-
they are created. It's the breath of life that creates.
-
And when that breath is taken away, they die. Where
-
did by the way the oh, I think the verse
-
is in here, so I'll wait until I get to it.
-
Number seven, Where do the dead go when they die?
-
They go right to Heaven? Do they go to hell?
-
Before the judgment? It says, yet he will be brought
-
to the what the grave and the vigil will be
-
kept over the tomb again, it says John five twenty eight,
-
these are the words of Jesus. All who are in
-
the graves will hear his voice and come forth. He's
-
talking about the day of the Lord second coming future.
-
Matter of fact, three times in John chapter six it says,
-
it's at the end of time when they're resurrected. They're
-
in their graves now, that's why they're resting in peace.
-
And if you ever walk through a cemetery and you
-
read some of the graves some of the tombstones, are
-
any of you at all spooked by walking through a
-
cemetery doesn't bother me. I'm just afraid I'm gonna trip.
-
I'm not. I try to be respectful. You don't stand
-
like right on a grave, you know, around just I
-
believe in respect. I've done a lot of funerals, and
-
sometimes I get there early and I walk around. I
-
read some of the tombstone. Some are really sad. You know.
-
You see the mother's life twenty five years and then
-
right next to it is a baby that lives one
-
day and she it's the same day she died. She
-
died giving birth. You can get the whole story right there,
-
and some of them will say our beloved Mother now
-
singing with the angels in heaven, and the same church
-
cemetery you'll see another one that will say our beloved
-
Mother resting until the resurrection trumpet, which tells me there's
-
a lot of confusion in the cemetery about what happens.
-
And some of them are funny. I remember there was
-
this one tombstone that it said, stop my friend, as
-
you go by as you are now, So once was
-
I as I am now you soon will be. Prepare
-
yourself to follow me coming home from school. When day
-
a kid read that and he took out his crayon
-
and he wrote down to follow you. I'm not content
-
until I know just where you went. So I remember
-
James Dobson. He said his father told his mother to
-
put on his tombstone. I told her I was sick.
-
So you know, we can laugh about it. And there
-
are some funny tombstones, but it's also very serious subject.
-
Bible says they're in their graves. What about people, pastor Doug,
-
I know you die, you go right to heaven or hell.
-
Because I read a book somebody died on the operating table.
-
They had a car accident and they left their body
-
and they had a whole experience in hell or in heaven,
-
and that proves it must be true. Do we base
-
our theology on somebody having an experience when they stopped reading.
-
They've done experiments now and they know people who report
-
what they call these near death experiences. They have elevated
-
levels of carbon dioxide in their blood, and they suffer
-
from oxygen deprivation, which causes hallucinations, and many of them
-
will see this channel of light. Many of the will
-
feel like I was outside my body looking in. And
-
one reason I know you cannot trust these near death
-
experience books to figure out what happens when you die
-
for heaven or hell is because if you're in a
-
Christian country, they say I went to heaven. I was
-
with Jesus. If you're in a Buddhist country, they say
-
I was with Buddha waiting to be reincarnated. If you're
-
in a Hindu country, they have near death experiences with Krishna.
-
They were with their God, and based on their training,
-
they have their various visions. Now God can speak to somebody.
-
I'm not detracting that it is possible that a person
-
could have a near death experience, and the Lord can
-
give them a vision or dream that is for them.
-
He's trying to tell them something, maybe wake them up
-
or comfort them. I don't know, but you don't base
-
your theology on a person's dream when their body is
-
robbed of oxygen. We base our theology on the unchanging
-
word of God. Amen, Heaven and earth will pass away.
-
Jesus said, my word will not pass away. People say,
-
you know, I had this experience and I was caught
-
up and I saw these things, and they make movies
-
about it. And I don't know if you heard. There
-
was one book that was written became very popular, and
-
they made a whole movie about this kid that said
-
that he had he died on the operating table, and
-
he saw loved ones and new things that only they
-
would know. And later he confessed he made the whole
-
thing up. After the book was a best seller and
-
after they made a movie, he said, I just made
-
the whole thing up. And so yeah, you can check
-
that out on the internet. Just don't do it right now.
-
Number eight, The Bible makes it plain that King David
-
is saved and in heaven. No wait, I read that wrong.
-
The Bible makes it plain the king David is saved.
-
So is he in heaven? Now? Is David in heaven? Now?
-
First of all, we're talking about good king. David killed Goliath.
-
He will be saved. Are we in agreement? Yeah? Bible
-
says he was a man after God's own heart. What
-
does the Bible say about David? Read this Acts chapter two.
-
This is after Jesus died. This is fifty days after
-
the resurrection. Peter is preaching. He says, let me freely
-
speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is
-
both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us
-
to this day. I've been to Israel. That's a picture
-
of David's tomb. It's still there today. And then he
-
goes on to say, David is not ascended into the
-
heavens Now, if you're going to use a English to communicate,
-
how could you be more clear than that dead, buried,
-
not in heaven. The Bible says that David diepproximately one
-
thousand years before Christ. It says he slept with his
-
father's Now, David, has it been three thousand years for him? No?
-
David closed his eyes in death, and the next thing
-
he knows is he is going to wake up, come
-
out of his grave, meet Christ in the air with
-
a glorified body, and for him it will seem like
-
a moment, the twinkling of an eye. It's going to
-
seem like fifteen seconds. So for people to die, don't
-
be discouraged. Your loved ones that die in the faith,
-
you can rejoice for them because their next conscious thought
-
is the presence of the Lord. I remember doing the
-
funeral service for the pastor who baptized me. He retired
-
before I was born. This guy loved the Lord, real worker,
-
and I was doing his wife's funeral service. This lady
-
was a saint. Died in her nineties working in her garden,
-
and she woke up that morning did her Bible study,
-
and the last thing she wrote was we shall not die.
-
She was quoting from an Old Testament prophet. She had
-
a stroke, she died. She was talking about the second death.
-
So I'm doing her funeral and there is Sister Phillips
-
and she's stretched out in the coffin as they often
-
have before me. And I was jealous because I thought,
-
here she's been a faithful you know, fought a good fight,
-
finished the faith. Her next conscious thought is she's going
-
to come out of the grave, what not with a
-
ninety four year old body, but with a glorified, young,
-
vivacious body, never to feel pain or suffering. Again, I
-
was jealous.
-
You know what I'm saying.
-
For those who die in the Paul says, we sorrow
-
not as others that have no hope. We sorrow for
-
ourselves because we're gonna miss them, But don't sorrow for
-
them if they died save. A Christian funeral should almost
-
be a celebration if a person has lived a full life. Heymen,
-
number nine, isn't it true that the soul is in
-
immortal and that only the body dies? Now, how many
-
of you have heard that? You know we have an
-
immortal soul? Have you heard someone say that before? There's
-
an immortal soul to save. I'm gonna turn the camera around.
-
Let's get an audience shot. Please show me the verse
-
in the Bible that says we have an immortal soul.
-
We got people here visiting from all different places. If
-
there's a verse, I don't know what that verse is.
-
Let's tell you what the Bible does. Say Ezekiel eighteen,
-
verse four, the soul who sins. What does it say,
-
will die? And then can mortal man?
-
Does?
-
Does job say we're immortal or mortal? He says can mortal?
-
Mortal means you die? Can mortal man be more righteous
-
than God? Listen to this one one Timothy six verse
-
fifteen and sixteen. The King of kings, the Lord of lords,
-
who so alone has immortality. So when do we get immortality? Yes,
-
we do get it, but sinners do not have immortality.
-
When will the righteous be given immortality? It's question number ten?
-
Look at this first Corinthians fifteen, verse fifty one. We
-
shall not all sleep, but we will be changed in
-
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the
-
last trumpet, For the trumpet will sound, the dead will
-
be raised incorruptible. We will be changed for this corruptible.
-
The word corruption means bodies that get old and wrinkled
-
and decay, and you turn back to earth when you die.
-
This corruptible will put on incorruption, and this mortal will
-
put on what immortality? When? When the trumpet sounds? And
-
when it's that when the Lord descends the Bible Read
-
verse Criantians fifteen, and you can't misunderstand The whole chapter
-
is about the resurrection and that we will get glorified
-
immortal bodies. Someone's going to write down, will we recognize
-
our loved ones in heaven when they you know, Grandma's
-
not going to be ninety. It is such a miracle
-
to me. How a caterpillar gonna be this fat little worm.
-
It builds a chrysalis, goes through this metamorphosis where then
-
it emerges with the aerodynamic design. There is no scenario,
-
There is no scheme in evolution, and can explain how
-
a worm will decide that it's going to go through
-
a change where its body turns into a virtual soup
-
of chemicals and reorganizes where it's got delicate legs and
-
wings and it can pump blood into those wings and
-
then fly off for flowers. I mean, that is still
-
mind boggling when you think about it. This has to
-
be designed by God. And you know Jesus compares the
-
resurrection to seeds. I've done some amazing facts on seeds.
-
Seeds can stay viable for thousands of years. They found
-
some seeds of an extinct Judaean date palm in Masada
-
down in the desert. It was very dry, perfect conditions.
-
They planted several of them. Some of them were not
-
viable anymore, but two or three of the seeds sprouted.
-
One of them turned into a mature day tree at
-
several years old. Now they call it the Methuselah tree,
-
and it is now bearing fruit two thousand years. The
-
essence of life was somehow kept in that seed that
-
when the conditions were right, with the moisture and the sunlight,
-
it came back to life. And the Bible says, and
-
Paul says, God can do this. It shouldn't be a mystery.
-
He was encouraging the Corinthians. God can resurrect us. Nothing's
-
too hard for the Lord. And some of you might
-
be thinking, will passer, Doug. But if we're cremated and
-
our ashes are scattered, will God come back and look
-
around and say, oh man, they're all over the place.
-
I don't think I can put them back together again.
-
Don't worry about it, Franz. For one thing, he's not
-
putting back together the old body. He's going to take
-
the essence of who you are. It's kind of like today,
-
you know, you take your computer programs and you put
-
it on a little USB drive and you can take
-
your program and plug it into a brand new computer,
-
and there it is. And so he's going to take
-
the software of your character and plug it into new hardware,
-
and you're going to have a brand new body. Does
-
that make sense? Samen? Okay, the young ones all said
-
Amen one Thessalonians four sixteen. For the Lord himself will
-
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
-
the archangel. The Lord has the voice of the archangel,
-
and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in
-
Christ will rise first. That's when this mortal puts on
-
immortality number eleven. How does the Bible consist? Sidently refer
-
to death. You rest with your father's The Bible calls
-
it a sleep. The graves were opened, and many of
-
the bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
-
Now are there any people in heaven? Now? Yes? Who's there? Moses?
-
How do we know? Jude verse nine, there's only one
-
chapter Jude verse nine. Enoch. The Bible says that Enoch
-
walked with God, and he was not for God took him,
-
and it's also repeated in the New Testament. Elijah went
-
to heaven and a fiery Chariot, Second King's Chapter two,
-
and Matthew twenty seven says, when Jesus died, there was
-
a great earthquake. He first he said it is finished.
-
The sky was dark, and there was a great earthquake,
-
and many of the graves, not all, many of the
-
graves of them that slept in Jerusalem were opened. And
-
after his resurrection, they came out of their grave and
-
appeared to many in the city. And when Christ descended
-
to Heaven, they ascended with him. Now that must have
-
been just a small group, because John, Mark and Luke
-
don't even mention that. But some of the patriarchs, we
-
don't know who they were. Could have been John the Baptist,
-
could have been Isaiah, we don't know. Some of the
-
faithful suddenly appeared to other faithful in the city and
-
said Jesus was a Messiah. He's alive, just like Moses
-
and Elijah appeared to Peter, James, and John. Some of
-
the saints who had died around Jerusalem appeared to other
-
faithful in the city to say, Jesus is the Messiah.
-
I am Isaiah, and we're going to Heaven together. I
-
don't know, but it's very vague. But there are others
-
that went to heaven. The rest of the people are
-
doing what rip sleeping, rest in peace. They're in their graves.
-
Jesus said, if you know the story there John chapter eleven,
-
verse eleven. Our friend Lazarus is what sleeping. But I
-
go that I might wake him. And then his disciples
-
said to him, a Lord, if he's got a fever,
-
if he's sleeping, that's good. He'll maybe get better. And
-
j says, no, no, no, no, Lazarus is dead. So
-
how did Jesus refer to death sleep? Now when Jesus
-
comes to resurrect Lazarus, does Lazarus comment on it? The
-
Bible says, even so God will bring with him those
-
who sleep in Jesus, there are people asleep. The reason
-
it says bring with him is because the dead in
-
Christ rise first. So as the Lord comes from heaven
-
and he circles around the earth, and the dead and
-
Christ are caught up to meet him in the air,
-
they're there first. So when we are transformed and caught up,
-
they're with him. You understand, he's telling us the sequence
-
of how this happens, so that we will have a reunion.
-
They're not enjoying heaven a thousand years before us. We're
-
going to all celebrate that grand experience together. It says,
-
then we will together be with the Lord where for
-
comfort one another. With these words. Now, let me get
-
you to think about something. Just use use common sense.
-
There are about a dozen resurrections in the Bible. I
-
can't remember them all, but I'll try. You've got Elijah
-
resurrects a boy. The widow's boy dies. Interestingly enough, Elisha
-
then resurrects a boy from the Shunemite woman. You've got
-
a man who is let down on the bones of Elisha,
-
he comes back to life. You got Moses who is resurrected.
-
Jesus resurrects Jerius's daughter. Jesus resurrects the son of the
-
widow of Namee. Jesus resurrects Lazarus Paul. We believe Eudicus
-
died when he fell out the window. They said he's dead,
-
and Paul said his life still in him, So that
-
would be another resurrection. If if that's what happened there,
-
then you have Paul was stoned and they thought he
-
was dead, but he got back up. Maybe they weren't
-
praying God said, look, Paul, not done. Get back up.
-
We've gone just resurrected Paul. We don't know, I mean,
-
but it may have been a death, and I might
-
be leaving a couple out.
-
I think this.
-
Oh, Peter resurrected Dorcas. Thank you. So there's about a
-
dozen resurrections in the Bible. Now, you work for a
-
news agency, BBC, Fox, CNN, pick your news agency. You've
-
just heard that there is a resurrection and a lot
-
of witnesses are verifying this has happened. You are going
-
to run to them with your microphone from all around
-
the world. You ever seen where they're interviewing some international
-
celebrity and they got fifty microphones right there and they're
-
all waiting for this statement, and the news is all
-
gathered in the back where their camera's going. First question
-
they'd ask is what was it like? What happened when
-
you died? Where did you go?
-
What did you see? What did you feel?
-
Don't you think it's interesting that of all those resurrections
-
in the Bible, not one person comments on what they
-
experience during death. Pastor Doug, what about the story of
-
the rich men and Lazarus. That's a parable. Someone please
-
write that down. When's our next meeting? Write it down
-
between now and tomorrow, and Pastor Ross and all answer
-
that tomorrow night. People have built a whole theology out
-
of this parable that was not at all the intention
-
of Jesus. No one resurrected ever commented on what they
-
experienced while dead, because they'll living though they'll die. The
-
dead don't know anything. Whatever your hand finds to do,
-
do it with all your might, for there's no knowledge
-
in the grave where you're going. Those that sleep in
-
Jesus will be brought forth. Number twelve. What does Satan
-
want us to believe? Sorry, why does Satan want us
-
to believe that the spirits of the dead are really alive?
-
The serpent said to the woman, you will not surely die,
-
one of the first lies. And isn't it strange that
-
even pastors are repeating the devil's life. You don't really die.
-
You go right to heaven, you go right to hell,
-
you go to some reincarnation waiting area, you go to purgatory,
-
you go to limbo. They get all these theories. The
-
Bible says, you're sleep, you're dead, you're unconscious. False Christs
-
Jesus said, false prophets will show great signs and wonders
-
to deceive, if possible, even the elect. If suddenly a
-
whole city sees this big apparition of Mary and she's
-
giving some message that may be slightly contrary to scripture,
-
how many people are going to believe what they see
-
rather than what the Bible says. A lot of people
-
will believe what they see because they don't know what
-
the Bible says. They're just believing what they hear from
-
the pastor once a week and you know, and he says, oh,
-
everything's great, you can be a better you. And that's
-
all they hear. Is the kind of the sloppy, goppy, happy,
-
slappy kind of Christianity out there. They're not here in
-
the whole thing. So a lot of them are being deceived.
-
False christ and false prophets will arise and deceive many.
-
For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
-
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also
-
transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be
-
according to their works. There are a lot of counterfeit
-
ministries out there that are deceiving people. Now, I also
-
want to hasten to say. I know a lot of
-
ministers in other churches. I think are sincere. I think
-
they love the Lord. I think they teach the Bible.
-
They're doing their very best. We would respectfully disagree on
-
some points, but there's some Charlatans out there that are
-
just taking advantage of people, and they're lining their checkbooks
-
while they do it. Number thirteen. How effective will Satan's
-
use be of these evil spirits in the last days?
-
The serpent of old called the devil and Satan who deceives,
-
how much he is deceiving the whole world? And just
-
before the Battle of Armageddon, these unclean spirits, they're going
-
out to the world to deceive world leaders. Some of
-
you remember years ago when someone attempted to kill Ronald Reagan.
-
From that point on, it's documented, and she'll freely it.
-
Nancy Reagan said she began to consult an astrologist when
-
she was working with President Reagan on his schedule. Hillary
-
Clinton said, yes, she did talk to a friend, Sylvia Brown,
-
and tried to connect with the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt
-
to know how can I be a better first lady
-
and Mary Todd Lincoln. She had seances in her house.
-
Now Abraham didn't go for that. But I'm just saying,
-
there are people in high places. I just heard them.
-
Maybe I'm letting the cat out of the bed too soon,
-
because we're talking about this later. It was a Peter Thiel,
-
the billionaire of PayPal, is now talking about the Antichrist. Yeah,
-
I'll read you that article later. Babylon the Great is fallen,
-
is fallen. It has become the dwelling place of demons. Remember,
-
God's people are in Babylon. There's demons in Babylon deceiving
-
and every foul spirit a prison for every foul spirit.
-
There's spiritualism in the world by your sorcery. And I
-
understand that one of these words, I think is pharmacia,
-
which means drugs. By your sorcery, all nations were deceived.
-
Number fourteen. How does God regard these miracles by evil angels?
-
The Bible says a man or a woman who is
-
a medium shall surely be put to death. Now, friends,
-
I'm not asking anybody to start going on a witch trial.
-
This is talking about when the people of Israel were
-
a theocracy and when God was their king. If there
-
was someone in their midst that was dabbling and consulting
-
with the dead. The penalty was the most severe penalty.
-
The only reason I read that is so that you
-
understand how did God view it. He knew that people
-
could be led astray by evil spirits, and they were
-
not to tolerate people trying to communicate with the dead.
-
Do not be deceived. Now I'm going to the New Testament.
-
Evil company corrupts good habits. Awake to righteousness and do
-
not sin. For some do not have the knowledge of God.
-
And again some will depart from the faith. Speaking of
-
in the Last Day, Paul says one Timothy four to one,
-
some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving
-
spirits and doctrines of devils. They were Christians. They've departed
-
from the faith. And what did it? They said? A
-
spirit spoke to me. I remember once I gave a
-
Bible study about the Sabbath truth to a pastor, and
-
the pastor said, you know, brother Doug, if I'm going
-
to go buy the Bible, what you say is clear enough.
-
But I had a spirit speak to me, and he
-
told me that I'm not under the law anymore. And
-
I don't need to worry about this, And I've got
-
peace that this, what this spirit is telling me, is
-
more important than what the Bible tells me. Now, did
-
Jesus say the Holy Spirit will ever contradict the Bible?
-
Or did he say when he the spirit of truth
-
has come, he will bring to your remembrance what I
-
have said. The job of the Holy Spirit is to
-
reinforce the teachings of Jesus in the Bible, never to
-
contradict it. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
-
but rather reprove them. I think we saw a question
-
we didn't get to it tonight. How should a Christian
-
respond to Halloween? Is it just me friends? Or it
-
seems like Easter is almost over? And then they get
-
the Halloween stuffs in the stores. It's as a booming
-
business and all around our neighborhood in California. I know
-
the kids are going out, they're having fun, and it's
-
a cultural thing. But I think as a Christian, I
-
don't feel peace participating in a holiday that you know
-
can be traced back to Druid priests making offerings to
-
pagan gods. And if you don't give us a treat.
-
We're gonna do a trick. It's just something sinister. And
-
you know people have big skeletons on their lawn and
-
tombstones and skeleton dogs being walked by skeleton people, and
-
little kids come dressed up like ghouls and zombies and witches,
-
and I just, ah, no, I don't slam the door
-
in their face. When they knock on the door. We
-
open the door and say here, we got a box
-
of Regan reasons in a Bible track for you. And
-
you know there's some churches they just slam the door
-
and they said, we don't believe in Halloween. I think
-
you can use it as an opportunity to witness Amen.
-
Amazing Facts has booklets you you can order for Halloween
-
to give to the kids. They'll probably frown when you
-
give it to them, so give them the raisins also.
-
But maybe some of them will read the little books.
-
They're very interesting little comics that they can read. So yeah,
-
I believe. You know, there are some cultural holidays we
-
can enjoy. I mean, who shouldn't enjoy Thanksgiving? Shouldn't we
-
all be thankful? But if there's one holiday that I
-
think Christians should not get excited about it's Halloween. It's
-
got too many evil trappings connected with it. The works
-
of the flesh which are evident, which are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery.
-
You read about those who are going to be in
-
the lake of fire? What does it say in Revelation
-
twenty one? Sorcerers shall have their part in the lake
-
that burns with fire in brimstone, which is the second death.
-
I don't know if I haven't seen in Texas, but
-
we've got him in California. When I was in New
-
York City. Some of the cities it says astrologer, palm reader, psychic.
-
Do you have those businesses around? Yeah? And you know
-
they used to have one. It was, you know, one
-
eight hundred psychic. You'd called his number and they'd give
-
you your psychic reading. And I had a friend that
-
was very curious and little mischievous. He called the number
-
and they said, okay, can we have your credit card please?
-
And he said, well, if you're psychic, you tell me
-
and then I'll know that you can. You can answer
-
my other questions. Yeah, but there are people that you
-
know that you know what it is. They're looking for answers.
-
People want to know what's the future. That's why we
-
do these prophecies seminars. God can tell you what the
-
future is in his word. You don't need to go
-
to a psychic. God tells you the part of the
-
future we need to know. He can tell you what
-
your future will be. If you turn your back on God,
-
and he can tell you what your future will be.
-
If you follow Will for your life, you can know
-
the future. You can know that your life is in
-
good hands. You can know what the future of the
-
world is as well. Number fifteen. What glorious power does
-
God offer his people? Answer that I might know Him
-
and the power of His resurrection. Now, I would rather
-
not die, but I'm not afraid of dying. It's like
-
Woody Allen said, I'm not afraid of death. I just
-
don't want to be there when it happens. I would
-
rather be among those who are alive when Jesus comes.
-
Can you say, man, you know there's going to be
-
two kinds of people when Jesus comes. Moses and Elijah
-
were with Christ on the mountain. It was a miniature
-
picture of the Second Coming. Moses died, but he was resurrected.
-
Elijah was translated, that's the word that we use. Never
-
really experienced death. He went through this tren information where
-
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, he
-
received his glorified, immortal new body. And if I could choose,
-
I would rather be that group that somehow survives what's
-
coming in the future. And Jesus said, we will look up.
-
He said, when you see these signs come to pass,
-
lift up your heads for your redemption. Draws and eye
-
says every I will see him coming. There are going
-
to be saved people that will see Jesus coming that
-
will escape the pains of death. And they'll say, death,
-
where is your staying grave?
-
Where is your victory?
-
That's what I want to be. I want to be
-
in that group. Amen, So you all pray for me,
-
because when it gets tough, I'm kind of visible. You
-
know that, don't you. So I've got a cave I'm
-
going to and I'm not telling anyone where it is.
-
Being confident of this very thing, He that has begun
-
a good work on you will complete it until the
-
day of Christ. Jesus. You know, friends, we are talking tonight,
-
life and death. Death is a serious subject. Usually we
-
hear people talk about it at a funeral. But you
-
realize that if Jesus doesn't come, there is a one
-
hundred per death rate in the world. It should not
-
frighten a Christian because Christians do not die. They go
-
to sleep. When the martyr Stephen was being executed, he
-
looked up to heaven. His face was shining and he said, look,
-
I see Jesus standing on the right hand of the Father.
-
He said, Lord, Jesus, receive my spirit, and he went
-
to sleep. Christians don't die. They go to sleep and
-
they wake up with a glorified body. So we don't
-
need to be afraid of death. Friends, Amen, he that
-
has the Son has life. Have you invited Jesus, the
-
Son of God, into your heart? You know it's not
-
as hard as you think. Even if you struggle with
-
sin and your willingness to say, Lord, make me willing
-
to be willing, and he will. He wants to save you.
-
You can be saved. He died. His blood is potent
-
enough to save the sins of the whole world. He
-
can cover your sins and give you a new heart.
-
Would you like that? Loving Lord, help everybody here. Everyone listening,
-
pray that prayer and say, Lord, we want everlasting life.
-
We want to have those glorifying bodies with nothing to fear.
-
Bless these people that they might experience that new life
-
and the peace that comes from having that gift. We
-
pray in Jesus' name. Amen, God bless. When is our
-
next meeting friends? Tomorrow night. Don't miss it. We're going
-
to be talking about Satan, bound and burned, the one
-
thousand Years of Revelation twenty. Bring a friend, you will
-
be blessed. Thank you very much
